Went to this place wanting to love it which speaks a good bit for how big of a letdown it was.Night started out great host was super friendly came to pick us up from 9 mile station, once got in the bar got first round of drinks and thats where it started to go south. First round was fine no issues, ordered second round and it took almost an hour to get drinks, so once second round came out went ahead and ordered third knowing how long it was taking (was told bar was backed up due to a bachelor party that showed up of 5 or 6 people and there was probably only 20-30 people in the bar so didnt really make sense given the number of people on staff) second round I had heard about how the bartenders will make you a drink based off your taste which was the main appeal to this place ,so first drink was a maple old fashion, so second drink I told them I wanted to get something else based off maple.....they served me the exact same drink with a different brand of rye but added a $3 freestyle upcharge....finally had enough waiting after 2 and a half hours and only getting 3 or 4 drinks and actually went up to the bar to ask for the check since had gotten really burnt out on long wait times and the long stretches of I just want another drink....overall last drink was by far the best and would have liked another but the speed of the service at that point had totally killed the mood.Place 100% does not match the vibe they are trying to present so highly recommend going elsewhere which is sad because loved the concept.
I usually do not take the time to review places unless I really do believe there’s place for improvement. My partner and I went to 12 for pre dinner drinks, we were really looking forward to the experience. One of the things we enjoy doing is finding cocktail bars with unique drinks that cannot be found everywhere. While Atlanta has a plethora of bars, not a lot of them are specialty cocktail bars, therefore 12 was a welcomed opportunity at finding our new spot. We arrived at the lobby of 12 in the lower level, we were greeted by a friendly host who sent us on our way to the 11th floor where we would be greeted by another individual. We waited there and then a young gentleman came to take us to the bar. This is where the experience began to go south. As he starts escorting us, he begins a full blown conversation with another colleague about some issue they have encountered. It wasn’t a professional conversation, it was giving very gossip like conversation that should be had away from the customer, particularly when you are escorting someone to the bar to begin their experience. Once we get to the level he proceeds to ask, do you have a reservation. We did. He then says, we are a little packed right now but we have that table over there or the bar. We decided on the table. The young lady server comes over, greets us, gives us the menu. Seems like everything is going to get better despite the little snafu with that colleague exchange at the beginning. When she hands us the menu she says they can do anything on the menu or any particular drink we want. Well, I inquire about a drink that is depicted on the website, it looks like a little tea glass on top of a wooden board, with smoking cinnamon on the side. She said, I don’t know what drink that is, but let me go ask the bartender. She goes, asks, comes back and says that he said that the particular drink I was looking at was one that he had won an award for at a competition but cannot make it. I was disappointed because to be honest none of the drinks on the menu are special in its ingredients or presentation. When I think of a cocktail bar I am thinking about thoughtfully crafted cocktails by mixologists who also pride themselves in unique presentations. Anyways, I ended up getting the banana old fashioned—it was disappointing. My partner’s vodka drink from the menu was good though, tasty and the right amount of strength. With our drink order we also ordered the grilled cheese bites. Great. We placed our order, drinks come out, we are feeling good. Well, let’s just say no one came and checked in on us or ever brought the grilled cheese bites until we flagged the young lady down (after looking for her for a solid 25min) and told her to get us the check and remove the grilled cheese since we never got it. We literally kept a menu so that we could order more drinks, but when I say a solid 45min Went by between the time we got our drinks and gave up on everything else, I wouldn’t be lying. I understand places can get busy and there are other things going on, but the space is not big at all. Seating is comfortably spaced out so it is not a packed house. Which is great because the ambiance of the place along with the view is amazing, however the service needs major improvement and refinement. You are either going to be a bar with high end liquors or a cocktail bar who prides themselves in serving customers unique cocktails. It is unfortunate because we have so many friends and family from around the world who consistently visit us, my partner and I also work with clients from all over the world who ask for recommendations when they come into town—and while I really wanted to recommend this place, I cannot do so with an honest heart.
Quiet bar as you enter the lobby of the PCM rooftop. Great drinks set in a lounge backdrop with historic nods to the radio broadcast tower.Bartender was friendly, offering nice riffs on some classic cocktails. After the crowded rooftop, this was a wonderful place to have a drink with friends.
Im here trying out the 12 cocktail bar for the first time...can you say not impressed. If your a true cocktail lover, you love the craft, the mixing of flavors, true mixed drinks...dont come here... the service is terrible, the wait time is even worse..the bartenders were terrible I could get a better drink at a run of the mill restaurant. Dont waist your time....
One of the coolest and relaxing bars that Ive been too. Its definitely more of a speakeasy vibe. They make great drinks that can be pricey but are worth the cost. They also have different type of events that are done in smaller groups where you can learn about spirits and wines if that interests you.
Let’s start with the positive, the drinks were good and very original, and while prices are on the high end of the spectrum, it’s not that much worse than less “exclusive” places. Now, the rest of the experience was something. We had a 9pm reservation (for which you have to deposit $20 per person, which goes towards your check so it’s not bad, unless you want to leave earlier, more on that later), and arrives right on time . Once you check in by the main desk, they walk you to the parking garage where we then had to wait for someone to come downstairs to check us in, the wait wasn’t that bad, but by 9:10 we were still waiting by the elevator. We finally made it to the bar around 9:15, and they sat us down.About ten minutes in, after being totally ignored, someone gave us drink menus.Around 9:45 I had to go ask for water at the bar because no one had checked with us. Soon after that we heckled a waiter to ask to place an order. We got our drinks around 9:55. So yeah, at least it was less than an hour.As soon as the drinks arrived, we place an order for a third drink and asked for the check as we didn’t want to spend the whole night there waiting while being ignored. The place was full, but definitely not packed, since it’s reservation only, all the seats were taken and that was it.But yeah, it’s hard to recommend this place, the intention is there, but the execution severely lacking
I was told this was place unique, elegant, had an amazing Christmas vibe & drinks. And that even though its mandatory to make reservations/ $20 entry fee per person (that later gets put towards your tab), it would be such a fabulous experience, itd be worth it. But I was massively underwhelmed. The physical layout of the bar was a bit stuffy, and such a small space to be bustling with so many people I couldnt help but feel like a sardine in a can! As far the drinks go, they were well made, but definitely not worth $15. My partner and I went on a week night, pretty early, just to have a drink before dinner and check the place out. Almost immediately after being seated, we couldnt help but raise our brow, taking in the lack of ambiance that apparently was worth paying $40 for.. We wanted to give it a chance though so we each ordered our drink and just planned on making our exit after that. But after ordering a $17 and a $15 drink and requesting the check, we were told we couldnt yet closeout, because you havent met the quota yet. I didnt understand, because I told our server we would be tipping the difference, which is a 22% tip, and pretty standard right? But as the server explained to me, it just wont let us do that in the system which is annoying, totally out of the waiting staffs control but like what the actual F? So be prepared for that if you do decide to give this place a chance; but I will not be recommending this spot to anyone, unless youre young and think PCM is the best spot in the city, in which case, this is totes the spot for you!
We made reservations for eight about a month in advance as we were all coming in from out of town for a bachelorette party. Getting into the bar felt like a VIP experience being led by someone through back ways and up some stairs and knocking on the door. When we walked in there was no greeting or a how can a help you, but a look of shock and irritation. As if we were in the wrong. I had the email up confirming our held reservation and still it was a scramble to get us seated at the only reserved table that didn’t have enough seats for us. We finally were sat and moved on.The cocktails are made to order when the bar manager, Colten, took our orders he was patient with the group members that were unsure of what they wanted and made great suggestions. Our drinks were incredible and so tasty. It was a shame they were the only ones we had in the whole hour we were there. This place is set up with a bar, about eight or so two tops and then a group seating in the middle. We were given our one round and that was it. There are several servers that check on all the tables equally from what I understand, but no one came by. Water came by once and was only offered to one of our party members. Eventually one of us went up to the server station and grabbed a water pitcher for our table.Additional to the cocktails one person in our group ordered food and it took about 45 minutes to get to her. It was a super tasty bacon spinach dip with pita chips and the portions were off. She had to ask for more pita twice and was given attitude when she asked.Overall the experience and service was completely not what I expected after paying the reservation fee for eight. We each loved our drinks and we wanted to order more, but didn’t have the opportunity. The bacon spinach dip was delicious, but would have been better if we could have ate it.
We asked for a food menu and the server brought one over. When I tried to look at it, she said I couldnt touch it. It belonged to the table next to us and I needed to pick out what I wanted right away so she could give it back. This was just an example of the many times the staff there was rude to our group. I had flown in from Los Angeles, and all I wanted was a nice night out, but we were treated like a nuisance anytime we tried to order a drink or food. To get in you have to check in with some guy in the lobby who is extremely unfriendly. He stood there and watched me and my friends try to find the place, until we asked him if he knew where the bar was. He was then very aloof and uppity about checking us in even though we had reservations and had paid the deposit.Would never go back here!
What a joke!! Don’t waste your time or money!! Prepaid for the reservation (credited toward your tab) and have been waiting 30+ minutes for a drink. They’re not even busy (Updated: my drink downstairs at the Mexican restaurant was much better by a long shot). The host was obnoxious and off-putting with his attitude(I’m still debating about whether he actually takes himself that seriously or if he was just playing a role). I’m really not one to leave a bad review unless it’s truly warranted, and this, I have to say, is 100% warranted. The only thing this place is useful for is taking someone out that you don’t want to be seen with….
I was so excited to finally have the time to experience the 12 cocktail bar and looked forward to leaving a great review. Unfortunately 2 stars is all I can give. First My Guy and I was seated on a wrap around couch facing the behinds of the people seated at the bar! With such a beautiful set up, seating positions should be highly considered. Then after waiting 20mins of no one acknowledging us, I got the attention of the whom I believe to be the manager, letting him know we have not been waited on. He replied that someone would be with us. Maybe 10min later he, the presumed manager, brings us water and walks off. Not long after that a waiter asks if someone took our drink order? She gets our drink order and walks off. When we get our drinks, which were great, I ask for the chicken skewers. The waiter dryly responds we are out and walks off!All in all, very disappointed!
STAFF SUCK. Good drinks and cool vibe, but Ive been multiple times thinking...this time will be better, but the staff is always rude, non inviting and very slow service. Which is such a disappointment bc youre always excited to come to this place for really good drinks, but the staff ruins the experience. I wont be back for a longggg time.
After a terrible time here, I want to make sure I share my experience so others don’t make the same mistake I did. STAY AWAY. Last weekend, I was visiting from out of town and fell upon this place, advertised as an outdoor rooftop bar. As someone still practicing covid-19 safety, I booked a reservation immediately and was excited to visit a rooftop bar. Upon arriving, I quickly realized this is not only NOT a rooftop bar, but also no covid-19 protocol was being followed. Tables were extremely close to each other, the entire bar was way over capacity, and NO ONE was wearing a mask. I wanted to get away immediately, but after explaining my situation to the waitress/bartender, no one was able to help. I was forced to still spend money on cocktails “to-go” because they refused to return my reservation deposit, even after explaining how uncomfortable I was with staying in that small bar and just wanted to cancel the reservation. The lack of understanding, the terrible service, the over-priced to-go cocktails, and the ignorance of covid-19 guidelines made this a place I’ll never return to, even after covid.
Loved it! It’s so good I want to leave a bad review so it doesn’t get unnecessarily crowded and I can enjoy it anytime I want, but that will be selfish. In all seriousness; it’s a laid back environment, great music. Definitely a place for you if you’re looking to go out, relax and have a good drink. The staff is A1, the environment is A1.“Upscale Drinks” was a place in atl, this would be it 💯
Doesnt follow ANY CDC covid19 guidelines. Packed with people who arent socially distanced with no open air flow. Its a tiny closed room and is NOT on the roof. The male hostess became very irritated when I didnt want to sit inside, which is because I know Im not the first person who thought this would be an outside establishment...They keep saying they dont advertise as an outdoor establishment, but it literally is listed as ON THE ROOF of Ponce City Market. As well tried to get a refund from customer service who hung up on me multiple times and never mentioned sister venues my reservation could transfer to. So if you dont want to murder your grandparents this holiday season Id suggest NOT going to this bar.
It was my best friends birthday and we went to a dinner nearby. Afterwards, we met a guy who would let us into this speakeasy for the remainder of the night. We finally got up to this place, and the guy who greeted us was not only rude; but disrespectful. He did not believe that we were supposed to be there, so he went down to the security guard and asked himself to be sure. Then he refused to serve us because our friend “tripped” at the bar. We did not feel welcome before we came in, but the whole entire time we felt unwanted. My friends and I both work in food and bev, and we definitely don’t recommend. If I could leave 000 stars, I would

2022-05-15Atlanta has so many cool spots and for me this is one of those spots. I love this city because when you think you have had enough of places. You are reminded that there is always that new place to be discovered. Amazing 12 Cocktail Bar, great ambiance, the services was great and friendly and music not loud enough where you can have a conversation. I loved it, great decor, great drinks even though I am a wine person but my friends loved their cocktails. For sure to come back here for special occasions. And I 💯 approve the spot.Cheers,

2022-04-24Absolutely fantastic!!!!! This amazing speakeasy has no menus - you tell them what you like / dislike and they custom make drinks for you all evening. The drinks are flat out incredible - everytime. They are complex and so full of flavor. Its always fun trying to figure out what they made you, and when you ask they will tell you. True artists in every way.

2022-01-01This place holds itself out as an upscale place. Their service should reflect that. It does not. Their staff was rude for no reason. See below.Where do we start? I’ve been here a few times. I like the concept, decor, views, and the location, but sadly, it ends there. Something has always been missing and I hoped they’d work out the kinks over time. The music is a playlist that doesn’t seem to match the crowd. The drinks are great, but the bartenders double as waitstaff, which lends to inordinate wait times for service. And there’s the one time I visited before food service ended, asked for some small bites, and was told they stopped serving, but was never given any warning by waitstaff about food service ending.I probably should’ve stopped coming at that point, but I really thought this place could be great. It’s gotten worse. A lot worse. I visited for NYE. I made a 9:30 reservation, which requires a $40 down payment later used towards the bill … no problem. My dinner plans before arriving ran longer, so I called to give the venue a heads up that I was running behind, but to hold the reservation. No one answered. When I arrived around 10PM, the woman and man (staff) working the door near the elevator were rude, and lacked the slightest shred of customer service skills. They pretty much blew me off for being late, said I’d be lucky to get a seat because it was so busy, and to step aside so they could attend to the other couple that was waiting to go upstairs. The staff (the woman and man) told me that their policy is to cancel any reservations more than half an hour late.Despite paying a deposit, I was asked via email to confirm my reservation that day and I did. At this point, I broke out my lawyer skills. I pointed to that same email and their website where you book reservations as lacking statement of said policy. The larger man, who works upstairs near the bar, searched the email for the policy, but it was no where to be found. After much back and forth, I was seated upstairs at a table. In summation, the staff was ridiculously rude, acted is if they couldn’t accommodate us because it was slammed, when, in actuality, the place was about 50% full throughout the entire night. I didn’t care about it not being full. What matters is that the staff was so rude and unconcerned with trying to rectify the situation. Needless to say, I won’t be back … EVER. A picture of how slammed they were is attached.

2022-01-31Not my cup of tea. Creative in concept, lacking in execution. Single shared restroom causes high wait times. Drinks were hit or miss. I had the unfortunate experience of a requested drink not coming out at all, and Waiter didnt check on our table for a while.Positives-nice atmosphere, beautifully adorned, music is present without being intrusive.

2021-08-09This place has a very exclusive feel to it. You have the check in at Ponce City Market downstairs floor where youre greeted, they take you upstairs via the elevator and walk you in. Note, its NOT on the rooftop. The inside has a very nice speakeasy vibe to it. Nice decor and good music selection. There are no drink menus. They make a drink to your unique tastes. You just tell them what type of drinks/liquor you like and they will make something unique for you. The place isnt a huge place, more so intimate, so make sure you make reservations hours in advance. You prepay $20 per person, which is applied to your tab. There were only a few mixologists, so service was not fast. We did order food and it was good. We had the carrot humus. My wife and I enjoyed this place. We will come back. Note, this place doesnt really enforce the mask wearing, just an FYI.

2022-06-20Very cozy hidden gem around the buzzing market. The way to find this bar is pretty tricky. Do make reservations before you go during the weekends. Parking is in PCM market’s garage. Went on a Saturday night and the wait time was around 10 minutes for a party of two. Got some finger food as well which was delicious. Definitely recommend this place

2022-09-12We booked a reservation at 12 Cocktail for some pre-dinner drinks for my wifes birthday. For starters there is a $20 non-refundable deposit to reserve a table at 12. The $20 does go towards your final drink tab but still a little odd. The atmosphere inside is very nice. Loved the decor but strangely they opened the shades and essentially ruined the ambience. Not sue why but I digress. The drinks themselves were good yet unspectacular. They claim to be known for being able to make a drink based on your preferences from scratch. In our experience they seemingly made the drinks off the menu only substituting the things you said you liked as opposed to truly building a unique drink for you. Good experience though and we had fun but we will surely be touring other bars in the area before coming back here.

2021-06-01This place has a very exclusive fill to it. You have the check in where youre greeted, they take you upstairs via the elevator and walk you in. The inside has a very nice vibe to it. Nice decor and good music. There are no drink menus, which I thought was really cool. They make a drink to your unique taste buds. I enjoyed being surprised by the different drinks they made. You just tell them what type of drinks/liquor you like and they will make something unique for you. The place isnt a huge place, more so intimate. There were only a few mixologist so service was not that fast. We did order food and it was soooo good. We had the chicken skewers and carrot humus. My husband and I enjoyed this place. We definitely will come back. I recommend this place especially if you are more on the adventurous side and dont mind them taking your taste buds to another level.

2022-07-07I almost didn’t come because of all the reviews that said the service was terrible. This place is super cool, kind of exclusive, but I made it in and ordered bartenders choice of cocktail about four times. Every single time my drink was amazing. As I sat, the staff was extremely friendly, the bartenders jarret and Andrea (I think her name was) as well as the very kind bar back were all wonderful and made my experience even better. I really loved this place.

2022-06-15Dim lit and perfect for an evening cocktail. The approach and entrance to the bar is just as dramatic as the drinks themselves. I loved how exclusive the space felt. The pours are top tier and bespoke and the vibe is laid back and chill. Ill definitely be back and recommend this to everyone
