I went into this store (Academy Sports Kennesaw, GA) this morning to purchase a pair of womens running shoes. Ive purchased two other running shoes at this location in previous years. Today, when I went into the womens running shoes area the young male salesperson completely ignored me the entire time I was there. He never acknowledged me and never asked if I needed help. Subsequently, another woman came in the same area after me and he promptly asked her if she needed any help. I do not want to make assumptions, but every customer should be treated with equal respect and helpfulness. I did find a pair of running shoes, which I purchased but I will not be returning to this location. The customer service needs to improve.
Recently purchased a new compact 9mm to replace the one thats too bulky as a sidearm. FRANK, was amazingly helpful. He knew his stuff and didnt get flustered when the paperwork was delayed. High marks to Frank for his assistance today for helping me choose the right piece.
Great shop for outdoor gear. I went to their location at 1580 Crater Lake DrKennesaw, GA 30152 - large warehouse - exceptional selection for guns, fishing equipment, and camping gear. Several tills, no wait at the times I went and large parking lot. Highly recommended retailer.
Received an email for my birthday month and it enticed me to look at their ad. I decided to go to the store and see what I could find havent used my card since paying it off in May. Went to the store found some items for $200 plus dollars told the cashier I had a birthday gift of 5% to add. Didnt have reception in the store, had to go outside find the email saying additional 5% with purchase came back in & it had disappeared from my email and the page I had it on. Told the cashier to ask the manager for help and JEFF said he couldnt do anything for me. REALLY?? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE INDEED! Why wouldnt you just ask for my ID for birthday verification & honor it, seriously 5% denied versus a lost customer. What business sense did that make?? Not only am I canceling my CC card with you you, I also want a district manager to respond with why this would even happen. Not good business I will not be back in if not called to clear this up & Wal-Mart has the same stuff nothing great about what you carry, its about the customer experience.
Today I went to Academy Sports in Hiram to make a purchase of a swing set and all I have to say is one of their employees needs to learn people skills. Walked out! Left there and called the Cartersville location to check stock only to be left on hold for 12 minutes to never get an answer. I finally went to the Kennesaw location and they made it happen. A big shout out to the team member Garrett that worked with me all the way to the car post-sale and was very patient with me the entire time. Great Job Garrett and great job Kennesaw Academy sports.
I went to this location to purchase a firearm. The one I saw online was no longer available when I arrived. Though highly disappointed, Ashley showed me other options she thought would be best! Ashley was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and very informative. She made the process and paperwork seamless. Once I selected my firearm, ammunition, and completed the paperwork, I was ready to go! I was extremely impressed with the process. I am quite sure if Im in the market for a new firearm Ill return to this store and location. Thank you for making me feel valued and appreciated. Amazing job!
This is a HORRIBLE store to order from on line let alone a return!!! I have been trying to send back a bicycle seat by FedEx. They helped with the return slips on line, I printed off and was package was picked up on 1-4-22. FedEx attempted to deliver to 6049 Fulton Industrial Road, Atlanta, GA. Suite C, dock 31 & 32 on 1-7-22@8:12am..now I have no idea where my package is, try getting ahold of a live person at FedEx, IMPOSSIBLE!!! Of course Academy says we can not issue a refund until package is received. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM ACADEMY.
So the store was awesome, but my customer service experience was not so much. I went in to replace my watch. I spent time shopping the whole store, it was great. Clean, great product availability, friendly staff, until it was time to check out. I grabbed a watch off a $29.99 peg, and it rang up $49.99. I asked them to verify, knowing what I grabbed. Another Team Member went over and looked and said they were $49.99. I can deal with that. Cool I dont want the watch at that price point. But, they didnt say thanks for bringing to our attention or sorry that it happened nothing. Most retailers would take the hit, honor the lower price and fix the issue. None of that happened. So I went back over to the watches to double check I wasnt bananas and sure enough the same SKU G-Shock watch was on 4 different pegs and different price points. I took a photo to show the Team Member the deficiency, told him Ill let it go, but another customer might not. Im cool not buying the watch I have other means of telling time. But to be blown off over this was off putting. Ive shopped at Academy forever, and Ive never had anything close to this happen. Is this an example of living the companys values? I wouldnt think so. Again, this isnt about not getting the watch. Im upset that they saw the deficiency, and ignored it. How much time does it take to move the produt to the correct peg and put away the overstock? Is it a blow to the ego to say thanks? And when you see this post look at the product, find the SKU and check the price points.
Great prices I was able to buy my S&W SV n Hellcat n Xd at a great price! The staff was super helpful. They definitely do remember you if you to go in there a lot lol that tells you how many times I’ve been there. They are always able to make really good suggestions which is always fantastic. I’m hoping that they have a really good Black Friday special.
Store was out of a lot of items and didnt have anyone available to help on the floor. The few employees there didnt have masks on or appear to have any concerns about Covid or social distancing.Pretty sure they would have better service if they took better care of their employees.
I came in last week wed to look for a kayak for my son, the guy who helped me Micheal Tigers was so helpful. He said hey, we dont have any kayaks right now but on Friday if there is any kayaks like this one on the truck coming in i will call. Friday morning guess what i got a call that they got kayak like the one my son wanted on the truck...talk about an amazing customer service. I was blown away.
Academy online purchasing, delivery or pick-up usually happens without any problems, but not this time. I ordered 2 pairs of sneakers but both were the wrong size. The in-store return process at the Kennesaw store, even with mangers assistance, did not go well with conflicting instructions. I shop and order from Academy often and will again. I like their products and customer service has been great except this time.
My husband and I returned a pair of boots I ordered online that didnt fit and bought some athletic shoes. The return was easy. Unfortunately, they dont carry a lot of wide shoes, so I had difficulty finding a pair to fit (also the reason the boots had to go back). They have really good prices on their house brand and its just a good as expensive brand names. The staff is friendly and helpful too. The only reason I gave them four stars and not five is the lack of wide shoes.
Store is under poor management. Store is in total disarray with limited sizes and product choices. I visited on June 12 and upon finally deciding to check out with just a roll of KT tape after standing in line until I was the second person to check out, the manager came over and told me and the other gentleman in line that we’d need to find a new line so the cashier could take a break. There were only 2 other registers open and the shortest line had 4 people waiting. There was no one at the service desk and the manager stood at the front with his arms crossed. I worked in retail management at a larger chain while I was in school and always closed the lanes behind those currently in line. The cashier finished checking out those in line before break and we all pulled together to man the registers with lines that long, including management. We would have never let a customer leave unattended and unsatisfied over a poor decision made by management. I captain a recreational tennis team and I’ll definitely be shopping Amazon after this experience.
Drove 45 minutes to this location to buy a certain type of ammo specifically because their website said it was in stock.Not only was it not in stock, but the excuse was “The storms in Texas knocked out our system and messed up the inventories”.Now I’m pretty reasonable and I get it, technology doesn’t always work. But I’m pretty sure they’re more than capable of putting a disclaimer on the site when you first go to it that says “Hey, inventory may be incorrect so give us a call to make sure”.At any rate this was a clear and obvious 1 star experience.
I appreciate the simplicity of the store. Everything is arranged in order and that makes it easy to find what you need. I especially love the value of their store branded items. They fit nicely and are all organized together. The staff is friendly and willing to walk you to what you need... incredibly patient. Ill be back for sure! Went to this location after the World Series game to buy Braves championship gear. The store charged me 3 separate times for the same amount of the subtotal for a total of $1,556.79. I spent all day on 11/03/2021 having to jump through hoops for them to get a fraction of the amount that they took out of my bank account without my approval. DO NOT spend money at this store if you don’t want to have money stolen out of your bank account.
I never expect to find my size of anything here, so I dont know why I bother. That can be said for shoes, ammo, floats, etc. The selection that theyre suppose to have is nice, but they just never seem to have the popular items in stock. Ive found youre much better off buying from their website and either picking it up in store or having it mailed to my home.
Great store concept. They could do a better job cleaning up the carts and emptying the trash can at the entrance. Its not like you dont have someone sitting there to greet customers staring at the full trashcan. Get a bigger trashcan or remove that one...or just empty it. Otherwise, I know they are having an issue with China right now and ammo in the usa but otherwise, not a bad store.
Young employees did not pay full attention to what was asked over the phone after asking multiple times CLEARLY so that I know if the product was in stock at location before driving to the store. I get there and of course they gav me the wrong information over the phone so I made a trip out to the store for no reason. Please make sure these employees understand their training and can comprehend with customers accurately on store inventory
Bought a bike for my kid and had them load it up. The associate damaged the back of my vehicle while loading the bike. We didn’t notice the damage until we arrived at home but because the store was closed we couldn’t file a claim until the next day. This was their basis for denying our claim. We will never shop with this company again.
I went inside academy to find some new workout shoes. Ronnie, the footwear lead, approached me quickly to assist me with my needs. He was very knowledgeable about his department and knew exactly what I needed. He displayed excellent customer service and explained the foot type I had! I will be back to purchase more items and hopefully he will be a manager soon, this man gets the job done correctly, great job!
It is very hard for me to give a 1 star review. However in this case its well deserved. During the pandemic most gun enthusiasts know Academy sports was the place to go for pre-pandemic pricing. Kennesaw probably had one of the more organized ways of getting customers in and out in an orderly fashion. People would set chairs up early Tuesday and Friday mornings in anticipation of what ammo would be on the truck that day. A list would be taped to the front door showing what would be available. And the gracious people of Kennesaw always respected places in line. On 7/6, I setup my chair for a place in line. It had been awhile since I last needed ammo so I got to thinking the usual process would be in place. I last bought ammo this way feb or march 2021. I go up about 8am to see my chairs had been moved by the store manager. Rather than tell me this is a process they dont do anymore, he in short called me a liar and people never set up to buy ammo like that since the 5 years hes been at the Kennesaw store. For starters the Academy sports in Kennesaw wasnt even there 5yrs ago. It was a mobile home park. Everything on the corner Barrett and Cobb pkwy is new. Maybe he was new to the store but to tell me it never happened after Ive done it several times during the pandemic is crazy. It is very hard to get a 1⭐ from me because usually Im a pretty easy going guy.
Stopped by to check the store out and noticed some employees not wearing masks. An employee at the front door was handing over flyers to text for savings. The store layout is very crowded and hard not be walking into someone. The store may be clean but I left because I didnt feel like it was a healthy place to be. On top of it, most customers arent wearing masks and unable to stay away from them at a comfortable distance.
Academy is very competitive on pricing. Store layout is easy to understand. I know what I’m looking for normally but if they were to improve, I’d say to have employees available to ask if you need help. I don’t think I saw an employee when I was there last other than behind a counter/register.
Been looking for some weights for my spouse to have when he’s traveling on the roads. Most places have been out of stock since COVID which has been the same situation for this location. After having a conversation with both Ronnie and Shaun regarding their inventory and shipment days, Ronnie spotted the last two adjustable dumbbells. Both men were very pleasant and helpful. Had to grab them up real fast before someone else did. Lol. Never a bad experience with customer service when I shop here.
Just tried to return Christmas gifts. I didn’t have the receipt because they were gifts. I was told Academy Sports wouldn’t provide me the full value because I did not have a receipt or the card. I asked the reasoning for this. The associate said it was because they didn’t know if I stole the merchandise or purchased the merch elsewhere and trying to rip Academy Sports off. I walked out. Horrible return policy. Poor customer service.
Went it looking for some flag football gear for my 4 year old. Only had 2 options, and not a big selection of footballs for his size. The staff here was very helpful and I was able to find a few things. I notice the clearance items were still pretty pricey. Overall I am a fan of Academy Sports, though it can be a challenge to find an actual deal here.
This store has always been clean and well organized. It’s well laid out. I like that they don’t try to hide sale items. It seems like they want to move them out faster so they can replace with newer products. My daughter wears a size adult 12 shoe and we can usually find a 3 or 4 styles of running shoes for her to choose from. Sometimes more than that.
Impeccable service from start to finish! I was greeted by about 5 different employees throughout the store. 3 individuals who stood out the most were the manager Geoff, and associates Boquee and Kim! Very polite, helpful, and just great to speak with. Boquee even pointed me in the exact location of what I was looking for! Thank you for the great service! This is obviously a team that works together and makes it a point to put the satisfaction of the customer first!
Went to this store to exchange shoes that were order for chriatmas, soon as I asked a male worker he said we dont sale those shoes anymore. He didnt go to the back and check or anything walked around to see if I liked some other shoes and low and behold found the same shoes the worker claimed to not have. Now I know its still holiday season but when I went it wasnt packed and you could move freely. Please do better drove an hr. from family for a store online that says they have the shoes.
This one of my favorite Sporting Goods/Outdoors stores. If I could get a military discount every day they would probably get all of my purchases. Unfortunately, they only offer military discounts about four times a year so Cabelas gets the bull of my outdoor purchases since they offer military discounts every day and are closer to my home. I need every day discounts Academy. 🙂
I visited this new store the day after Christmas and expected pure chaos. The line for returns was very long, as I expected, but the staff was so efficient that it did not hinder my shopping experience at all. The store is well stocked, the staff very knowledgeable and helpful, and this is my favorite sporting goods store anyway because they have such a wide variety of products and are more inexpensive than other sporting goods stores. I will return frequently.
Poor customer service, was in the store looking for a lock and both associates acted as if they didn’t hear me speaking to them at all as if I were bothering them by asking a question. The male associate lead me to look near the cash registers and the lock was actually in the bike area where we met him at, so he basically sent me in a dummy mission to end up right back were we where before.
1/3/2020Do not shop here. Customer Service not friendly along with anti-customer policies. We needed to return skateboard safety pads for my Grandkid. First of all there is no Customer Service Desk, you have to stand in line at the one register which was open and about a dozen people deep. After about 20 minutes in line we get to the register. The store employee tells me my store credit would be $4.99 for our $21.00 purchase, with the explanation that store policy is to only credit the lowest price in the last six months and that nothing could be done. Buy on Amazon with super customer service return policies.
One of my favorite academy locations. Always clean, bright, stocked, well organized, and staffed with friendly faces. It’s a new store in a new shopping center. It’s set back off the main road a bit so it may be tough to see from typical traffic. Follow the GPS.The parking lot is large and new, but there is really only 1 narrow way in and out.The shopping center has numerous and really good food options for all meals, so this is a great place for a weekend afternoon with the kids.
Went shopping here today and was very pleasantly suprised. From all the previous visits to other stores in Atlanta with rude or non-existent customer service this store was refreshingly pleasant. Every employee I seen greated me with a smile, kind works, and an offer to help. Kelly V. was especially helpful in the womens dept. She helped me find what I was looking for and swapped out sizes for me and all with kind words and a smile on her face. Thank you for all you do.
This store was awesome when it first opened... but so disappointed from our visit today. Went in to purchase a treadmill and no one was available to help. The cashier line (singular) was 10 people deep yet there were at least 3 associates behind the customer service counter. I approached the young lady serving as the greeter and asked for help with a treadmill. She said, “well there’s no one to help. Maybe that guy can help you but he’s with someone.” I said... what guy? I didn’t see anyone. She replied - “the guy with the dreads.” Ok... that’s super helpful. Maybe a name? Maybe use your headset to find someone to help us. We left and went to stand by the fitness section in an attempt to find an associate. She must have called someone over to help us as one of the managers (maybe?) finally came over and scanned the item. He said good news - we have two here and went through the brochure with us for shipping and set up fees. We agreed that we wanted it. He said, please wait here and we will get you rung up. We stood there. And waited. And waited. Approximately 15 minutes later he approached us and simply said - sorry - we don’t have any. We asked if we could order one and have the same delivery/set up deal and he said no. We asked if we could have one ordered and delivered to the store and he said no....So... clearly this store has service and staffing issues, as well as inaccurate inventory counts. We love Academy but today our local one served up a big fail on many levels.
Had one girl in the footwear department roll her eyes when I asked for help after searching everywhere for her. On the other hand, I had another employee in that department come and help me later on. I couldn’t remember her name but she was super sweet, nice and smiley. She made my experience awesome! Wish the other girl would take some notes!

Not sure when brick and mortar will figure out that you cant sell what you dont have. But hey, anybody 2x & 3x + sizes will love this place. Seemed like the only sizes available in anything there. Somebody in purchasing should lose their job, because you gotta be losing your back side.
Academy Sports has an amazing selection of everything sport and outdoors. The fishing section is very complete and the prices are really good. The sport clothes offer the name brands like Nike and under armour but their store brand is excellent and the prices are fabulous. The staff is extremely helpful and someone is always available to help.
Very nice and friendly staff at the Kennesaw store. I was looking for a very specific uncommon 22 long rifle ammo and the associate that helped me went above and beyond. His inventory said they had 13 boxes and he dug through several hundred boxes on the shelf looking for the one I wanted. We did eventually find 1. Thank you Academy.
When we picked up our dumbbells from academy earlier this week, we noticed that we were missing a couple of barbells and the stand for them. This was frustrating for us but Chris kindly and efficiently took care of the problem. He called to make sure we had received our confirmation email with our new order. Thanks to academy in kennesaw! We will definitely continue shopping here.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. Frustrated that they do not offer their Veterans discount every day. Only special holiday weeks. I was told that offering this every day does not increase sales over the year. Dicks Sporting Goods and Cabelas offers theirs every day. Disappointed in Academy.
Terrible service! Rummaged around the incredibly disorganized shoe department for 30 or more minutes. Not once was I asked if I needed help, or offered any assistance! Prices were definitely competitive, but if they cant afford to hire enough help for a customer to find what they need, what good is it? I may visit Academy Sports again; but I certainly wont return to this particular location!
Normally I love this store. When I first walked in, it was great. I got greeted. Then I walked over to the bikes and stood their for 15 min while workers passed me. Then I went to get help and the employee who tried to help me, didnt know the answer to my questions. He didnt even try as ask anyone else to see if he could further assist me. I was interested in buying something but I doubt I will go back.
This store sucks if you go in with someone who cant walk. They only have 1 cart to ride. No one spoke to me until I looked at guns and the guy behind the counter trying to sell me the gun was very nice. That was the only person in this entire store who spoke with me and he was very kind.. Everyone else avoided eye contact.Very crappy service from the rest of the store.
My significant other and I visited over the weekend to purchase a pair of inline fitness skates. Finding what I wanted was relatively easy. Checking out was about the same -- until I reached the cashier.Plastered all of your store/website are signs that say Best Price. GUARANTEED! I explained that Dicks, up the street and around the corner, was offering 10% off of these skates. Instead of going there, I figured I would come to Academy, get the same price, save myself the trouble of Barrett Parkway on a Sunday, and be on my merry. But, I was wrong.When I explained the nature of the discount, I was told they wouldnt price match, and the only way I could get a discount was to apply for a credit card for the store. Before I could ask for a manager, another cashier butted into our conversation -- further explaining that I wasnt going to get the 10% discount, and that I needed to apply for the credit card.At this point, I was pretty frustrated, so I kindly thanked them, paid for the skates and left. While it was only 10%, the bigger issue is how handled I felt while visiting your establishment. So, from now now, I will only shop and Dicks/REI for my outdoor needs. Also, you shouldnt say that you have the lowest price guaranteed when you really dont...Thanks,-Nicolas
Very hard to get help. Seems to be under staffed. When I was there, I didnt see a single employee in the area where I was shopping. Walked around looking for someone and went to Customer Service and a person behind the desk offered help. Turns out that there were about three other people who needed assistance too. Great store, light and bright, well organized.
I called up there immediately before leaving and asked if they had a pair of 25lb and 30lb dumbbells. Everywhere is sold out of them, they said they had them. I drove an hour to this store to find out they’ve actually been out for multiple days. They wasted my time and gas and just straight up lied to me for no reason whatsoever.
Want to rave on Store Director Brian Bouie at this Kennesaw location! Husband and I bought my 3 kids a go cart from Mossy for Christmas and had they all went bad after just a mere 3 days of using them. Returned them and got new ones 3 times!! After calling the manufacturer we were told to return them to academy once again and at this point we were frustrated and no longer wanted to deal with these go carts. Horrible toys, no longevity or quality whatsoever. Went to academy, was told we would have to dispute this with Manufacturer as they no longer issue refunds at the store. Were talking close to 800 dollars for all 3, after the Store director got involved he realized dealing with the back and forth through manufacturer he looked over and said, Im not going to put you folks through this trouble. So he refunded our money. I was so thankful because with 3 small kids in soccer all week and full time jobs who has time to argue with 1-800 numbers. Thank you Mr Bouie! THIS is why we will continue to be very frequent shoppers at your Kennesaw location!!!!! Customer service at its finest!
The guys working the gun area are always friendly and willing to help. The people in the shoe area are not as willing to help and all but run from you. If you try to walk up to them they usually start walking off in the other direction, not even acknowledging youre there.
Manager Antoinne and the whole gun and accessories department and gunsmith guys are fantastic. Turned my whole family onto Academy. Wont ever shop Dicks unless theyre giving out firearms for free! Young gunsmith and older dude too are amazing and knowledgeable. Two Thumbs Up Always. Customer service is best in ATL area. The Flynn Family in Marietta....
Boquee went above and beyond to make sure this visit was quick and easy, I’m not sure if he was the manager or just a store employee but he showed incredible customer service experience and made me happy Academy is the store I take all my footwear/camping/apparel/toys for kids business 🙏🙏🙏
Happen to be in the area for a local festival. Stopped by this store to pick up a chair that the website said was available as I was trying to avoid the extra $10 for shipping. After I was unsuccessful in finding the item I approached TOM...one of the MANAGERS. First Tom held his finger up to me as I started to ask for help. I waited...then I practically had to run after him as he walked around the store from one place to the other. Then he told me there were none. I let him know that according to the website there were some in stock. He proceeded to let me know that “fewer than 3”, as listed on the website, “could also mean zero”. WOW.I LOVE academy...but promise that I will never visit or recommend this particular store. Surprised that this behavior is allowed from management...the very people that are supposed to be leading!
This company by far has the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I purchased a trampoline and swing set for my kids Christmas present on black Friday. The estimated delivery date was Dec 7. I get a call on the 8th from delivery company automated service saying the soonest delivery date was Dec 28. It took over 5 days to reach someone. The delivery company never answered after over 2 he on hold. I sat on hold for over 3 hrs with Academy and gave up. Went to the local store to sort out. They call the same number I tried as they laugh and tell me about the 3 hr hold they had that day for another customer. Still nothing. I repurchased the items on different card in store so my kids would have them for xmas. Called again when I got home to get a refund for the first set. After 1 hr 30 min i finally got someone. They give me a conframation number and said they would contact the delivery and process the return. This is the 13th of Dec. ON the 23 I get a call from delivery that they are 10 min away.? Informed them that I canceled the order. Here it is Jan 2 and still no refund. Almost $500 that academy is holding. I called and actually got someone that told me that a refund was processed but they have no idea about when Ill get it or where the merchandise is for me to get a refund. Sat on hold for another 1 hrs and 15 min for a supervisor and got hung up on. Thats over 4 hrs on hold with academy customer service. What kind of service is This? Where is my money?
Went in to pick up new line for my reels and get them spooled without line twist on the nice fancy machine every Academy should have. This is something they offer with a machine in every store. I ended up crusing and bought a new reel and a bunch of terminal tackle. I could have bought the line at Walmart for less and spooled it at home mind you and not be pulled in to buy all the bells and whistles.I went to the front, bought the goods, and asked the people behind the desk to reel up my two reels plus the new one with the new line I bought. All theemployees kinda looked at my with wide eyes then back to each other. It was pretty clear to me everyone working at the store was going to college or very young possibly working their first job and knew nothing about the outdoors or sporting goods. In the end no one at the location could spool my reels. One of the employees was willing to give it the old college try to his credit even though he admitted he did not know how to work the machine. Academy might want to stop offering the service if it cant afford to trian its employees. I dont blame any of those kids the truth is its clearly someone on top that should be making sure all their employees have the basic knowledge to do the job. Sadly its probably those kids that will end up getting the brunt of the blowback.
Jackson @ the gun counter was great! Sold me a scope at an incredible deal, he mounted it and bore sighted it for me. Was knowledgable and made sure I was happy with mount before finishing up! This store is the only sporting goods store you need to go to. Wide selections, if they dont have it they will order it on line. They have price match. The associates are knowledgeable, friendly, professional and helpful. Lots of parking, easy to see from the street.
Your basic sports/outdoors department store. Lots of stuff covering a wide variety of things, but no overabundance of merchandise for particular hobbies. Lots of clothes. If youre in need of general stuff you can get at any other department store for outdoor and sports then hit this place up. Its almost like a Dicks sporting goods with a couple other areas thrown in. No real sales deals from what I could see.
SEVERAL shoppers not wearing masks! Most shoppers were wearing masks (kids, too!) Although these non mask wearers think they are smarter than world leading scientists, they are not. You are risking your health to shop here unless Sports Academy Corp. requires mask wearing!
Drove 35 minutes to this Academy to purchase a mens bicycle that was shown as being in stock online. When I got to the store, it wasnt there. No one knew where it was, it showed as being in stock in their system. I called customer service and the lady was rude. I will never be shopping with any Academy again.
Was just in your store to make a firearm purchase. After waiting my turn behind another customer your attendant just stood there looking forward and never asked if I needed helped! He acted like I was never there! You’ve lost a sale and I will steer all my family and friends from your store!
First off, they had one lone guy at the gun counter for like 20 minutes with more than half a dozen customers; but thats not my gripe. If you want things like Walther, HK, FN, DO NOT COME HERE. All youll find is Beretta 92s, Glocks, Rugers, CZs, all good weapons in general just a complete over stock of them. Not much for variety or new models. As far as knives go, the selection is even slimmer. Dont disappoint yourself people.
I dont really have anything against academy so Im not going to give them a bad rating. It really just comes down to personal preference. Academy just feels more like a warehouse where some sports equipment was dropped off. I think that they just carry so much variety that the organization and order to everything is just too daunting.
Really big selection from cheap Hanes to overpriced Nike (imo) in the clothing section. A good selection of Wrangler and Levi jeans, Carhartt work clothes, and Colombia jackets (along with academys own brand name. There is also a good sized hunting area with lots of camo and equipment. Same for the firearms section. A huge choice of shoes and boots and lots of different socks. Havent really been in the golf/sports area but its big too. Only complaint is the mens clothing area is kind of like a maze with lots of displays and small walk ways hiding other clothes.Prices are darn good and comprable to online prices. Im willing to pay tax if I get to try it on and do a quick return.

2022-02-21A good place for shoes and workout wear and workout weights and sporting gear, and exercise equipment. They have camping, grilling and gun stuff too. Ammo. Heh. Crocs. Ha! Fishing gear. It is one of my husbands favorite stores. Right now they have a lot of Christmas clearance sales going on. We bought a few LEM food dehydrators from there over the years for making homemade beef jerky.

2022-06-05This store always escapes my brain and I never remember to visit. However, Ive now been there twice in 30 days and every time has been fantastic. The store is VERY VERY clean (including the bathrooms) the employees are outstanding (from floor support to front end cashier (s)). They have all the sizes you cam think of and tons of options. Since I didnt know, I will share... had no idea they sold grills + chairs... I obviously knew about the clothes and outdoor equipment but not THAT kind of outdoor stuff! We went specifically for Braves attire and I will say their prices overall are a tad on the high side BUT its nice to be able to try things on AND that selection is top notch.

2022-06-15I just want to give a big shout out and thank you as a Marine Corps vet to Chris and Brandon from the firearms section. Super professional and nice. They informed me of the process since it was my first time buying a firearm. They made me feel very comfortable and welcome to the gun community. I’m am very happy I made the 45 minute drive here. Recommend 100/10.

2022-06-17Just left here to pick up my first gun purchase and the customer service was A1. They were very busy but handled customers well. Demetrius and the store manager were on top of everything. The staff was on top of it. Very much appreciated compared to the customer service I experienced in Hiram last week. Please keep the great work!

2022-05-04I ordered a pair of shoes online for to pick up same day in the store. It was a bonus when I got there and realized I didnt have to get out of the car because its actually curb-side. Time-saver? Yes, please! 🙏

2022-06-06Decent sale prices and they have a variety of items. However, the workers are rude and have a terrible attitude towards the customers. I have not even said anything to anyone outside of getting checked out and they treat me as though I am bothering them. This has been my experience with the cashiers at check out and the customer service station.

2022-05-02This is my first time being in this location ever, I have been shopping Academy Sports for an extremely long time and I bought a Georgia Bulldawgs keystrap for my car and house keys and a Magellan hat as well, I am extremely looking forward to Academy Sports opening up in Panama City Florida this summer, but in the meantime for now if anybody ever needs anything good from here this location lives up to its name. 😁
