Nice team sporting shirts and merchandise. Little pricey but its the best place to get the new just hit the shelve merchandise. Friendly customer service.
I ordered curbside pickup and I was not disappointed. The fulfillment time was impressive and the customer service was great.
This local Academy Sports is a gem. The store is always clean and the merchandise is stocked and readily available. The employees are generally well trained and available on the sales floor to answer any questions or concerns and to help with anything you may need.
Sold me a brand new, in box gun with missing parts. Sure would have been nice to inspect the gun prior to selling to a customer. Bob at the gun counter is nearly useless. The response, “well you will have to send it back to the manufacturer, that’s not our problem”.
Terrible people working here. I have an issue with a manufacturer and needed assistance from this place to get a specific document. I called, and the first employee that answered actually heaved a huge sigh, then laughed like what I was asking was unbelievable, and told me to wait for a manager cause she has no clue. Talked to some manager who had terrible pronunciation of her words and sounded... Im sorry to say this... but ridiculously ghetto. Whos hiring these people? Is there anyone with any decency anymore?!I live about an hour or so away, and needed this specific document sent to me somehow. I told her this. She told me there was no way to send it to me and that I had to come in person. Mail? Email? Freaking text message picture? Come on! Its 2022!
Legit, everything I needed was here in the store. I went in for some simple things and ended up buying a gun safe that was $400 off the original price with free delivery. They often have good sales on end of year clothes. I wish they had larger size kettle bells but thats what Onnit is for.

Huge store with all kinds of equipment and clothes for men, women and children. I stop in when I want a good price and I cant find it in the local store. Ive bought hiking shoes, boxing gloves and a swim cap and goggles. I have a friend that buys golf and baseball items for her son here. She buys tennis supplies. They have camping supplies, hunting supplies and fishing. T-shirts for men, teenagers and women. I like to look around at everything. Exercise equipment, tape, and yoga mats. They have an excellent source of Georgia Bulldog shirts. The latest of everything.
Great selection. There are clothes sporting goods. Guns, ammo, fishing. Everything you could possibly need to go camping. The place is clean. Bright.

Love Academy, my daughter needed bookbag for Tech School with computer pocket. An associate took me right to them. Academy had the 1 she wanted. It was on sale. Awesome. Great service, great bargain.

Pretty cool store. They are quite friendly and attentive. Love their products. I bought a gun from them and I enjoy it very much. No problems out of it so far. Each one i was interesting in he explained how it worked, he let me test the weight and everything. He even gave me recommendations on what the kind thats best for what I wanted one for.
The employees here are very helpful. They really seem to know their department. There is plenty of parking and the parking lot is well lit if you go after dark. They will usually open another register if needed. The store is well stocked. There are plenty of handicap parking spaces.
Great place with friendly helpful staff. I got this great sausage grinder, i highly recommend it if your in the market for a great meat grinder to make home made sausage or you can use it to make your own lean (ground beef, pork, chicken, turkey,) that you can be sure is 100% lean bc you trim off the fat yourself. ;)

I am very pleased with the new addition of their curbside pick-up. The staff is friendly and my order always seems to be ready fairly quickly. They have a great selection of items & the online store filtering tool seems to be accurate when searching for items in the store.
Great selection and employees always willing to help. Most items are priced competitively as well and they do offer store to store price match. Do online order with in-store pickup and you can avoid getting stuck in a long line when they are busy.
It was great to shop in there but the guy that checked me out forgot to take the security tag off but other than that it was great n Im planning on going back
I found a great deal on shoes, but the item I went in there for wasnt in stock even though it said it was online.
Cashier was very rude and wasnt helpful at all. I asked the cashier if she would help me find a coupon online to use towards my purchase. She totally brushed me off and wouldnt help me find one. But she did go on to advise me if i applied for a academy credit card i could receive a 15% off my purchase. Wasnt she very helpful????

Anything you could want for any sport. Reasonable prices. Nice staff. I love just walking around in here and looking at everything. They have had a decent supply of some ammo on my last fee trips there.
The line was wrapped around the whole store, but I was out of there in 25 minutes. Store is clean and stocked amidst the holiday chaos. 10/10 will shop again 😊

2 stars only for the remodel. Store looks nice, but they have no product. Went to purchase some UA socks, out, UA t-shirts, out. They say they get ammo in on a regular basis, and have yet to be able to purchase any. I dont see how this store can survive if this is the way they are continue stocking their products.

The lady at the firearms dept was very helpful and got me checked out quickly. They had been busy and didnt have what I wanted in stock but they helped me to find something else better.
Love the selection and great camping gear. My kids love the baseball section. Found everything that they needed for the upcoming season.
Clean cookie cutter store. Things in the outdoor section where misplaced. I had to read each tab to find the right price. It was aggravating but I can do. The cashier was nice and had great mannerisms.
While I value customer service, I also like to check out quickly. Academy is only able to offer the customer service. Lots of folks on the floor, but few at the cash register. I can understand since the checkout folks do not ever seem that happy. Good store and well stocked, just need a few tweaks in management.

Customer service is decent. I like the sales that they offer. I wish they would offer military discount but they dont except I think on Veterans Day. Me and my wife just went to this place the other day I was having some issues with Plantar Facilities (This aint no joke)anyway my Podiatrist sent me to all places Academy, this young man in the shoe department I wish that I can remember his name, any way we bought some Sketchers wit Arch supports in them along with the arch supports which come to find out I didnt need them in the first place so they took them back. I love academy.onlything I do not like is many shirts I liked they had no xl sizes only small medium.i would have spent a lot more money had they had the sizes.

Getting their stock back on shelves and hangers, clean, helpful staff. Wasnt impressed with a order ahead and pick up at Macon Academy. Lady stood outside door and waited for us to drive to her, rather than deliver at designated pick up area across parking lot. She was older and evidently didnt want to walk that far out. A bit annoyed, but we felt safer than shopping inside. Also avoids impulse buying.

The folks up at Academy helped me find the exact item I was looking for, and the employee that checked me out helped me load the equipment into my car despite the fact that he was actually getting off work and on his way out. It wasnt an easy fit either, but he helped me out and everything was smooth. This is a great place for sports equipment and home fitness gear.
Now that the pandemic is over, it would be nice if items could be in stock more often. However, it is still the best sporting goods store.
Poor customer service! Went there to try and buy hunting ammo I went to the gun counter and they didnt know if they had any in stock since it was being kept at the customer service desk, which serves double duty as store pickup counter so I had to stand in a long line just to find out that they were sold out for today. Thanks for wasting my time and not keeping items in their appropriate areas as the store is designed!
Never have what I need in stock. Fitting room was open the first time I walked in and closed 5 minutes later, this was with 2 hours left until closing. Checkout took 15min with only 2 registers open.

Great place. We got our son an electric kiddie truck for Christmas when everyone else was sold out. They guy that helped us was really nice. We had to pay like 75 dollars extra but thats our bad for waiting last minute. Great place for back to school shoes and backpacks too.
Line was too long, cashiers were moving too slow. The lady in charge finally opened up another 2 cashiers. She did nothing for awhile, finally did her job. 20 people in line is ridiculous!!

Definitely am pleased with customer service and the quality of service I received, had a deer stand get lost in the mail. They gave me another on free of charge just had to go pick it up. Recomend for all your sports and outdoor activities

My girl friend had unreasonable difficulty getting a pistol purchased online and shipped there. Still dont have her gun nor her money. She proved her identity and they insisted on proof of her address... How is that relevant to the purchase of a firearm? Shes legal to own one, you took her money, she proved she was who she said she was..... I dont get it... I just returned all the stuff I intended to buy back on the shelf. We live 40 minutes away... Shes just going to cancel her purchase, get reimbursed, and buy the same gun locally.
As i looked through long sleeve shirts there was a roach on them. I though okay, not going to over react as its probably dead.. shook the shirt and it was definitely not dead. Put the shirt back and went on my way as im not bringing any of that to my home.
I wouldnt hear last minute of course stopping and trying to find last-minute gifts and ran into all kinds of deals. There was amazing things on the Clarence and I actually saved a lot of money and time.
They are part of a large chain. As such, they are always going to have bright shiny stores, with plenty of merchandise. They live up to that expectation. Their prices are high, unless you catch something on sale. But if you catch it on clearance, then you will certainly be happy with the price.We bought some shoes from there, and never wore them. They did give us our money back, but only after grilling us on why we were returning them. As I write in most of my reviews, this can be expected. Its average. To get a better than average review, then...well.. you have to be better than average.
Went in for a baseball belt for my son, came out with 5 bags and a lot less of my pay check! Great deal on kids bats and cleats right now! 300$ + bats on sale for 50!

This is a large retail store, where you can find just about anything you would expect a large chain to have. I would give it 5 stars but its hit and miss on whether you have to go half way across the store to find help or maybe have someone come up and help. This is pretty much the same deal with any large chain you go in. I am still partial to small businesses who deal in specific items and have knowledge in their merchandise but for general things then this place is great.
L stopped in to look for a lid for my Yeti tumbler. I lucked up and caught the sale they had for Yeti products. 25% off. YYYAAAYYY

Im normally a live and let live person, but the whole store was asleep at the wheel today. Very sour, rude employee in the fishing supplies area. Kept moving in front of me to restock shelves while I was getting hooks and sinkers. Only moved out of my way when another employee asked him for assistance. He grumbled his way to help the guy. Never acknowledged me for a second and looked at me like I was in his way the whole time. Never have experienced this in a store before, other than Wal-Mart. I actually wanted to ask him a question about fishing gear, but decided to just get away from his grumpiness. The guy who checked me out at the register didnt say a word to me. It was really weird, the whole store seamed out of sync.
They had exactly what I needed when I went looking for a floor map to protect wood floors from equipment. They also have the perfect supplies for my three year old soccer fanatic. I was surprised at the prices--more affordable than expected.
The prices here are very good. You cant find ammo anywhere else at there price. And they are always stocked. Even there runny shoes are at a good price. Just price check them on Google. I was stunned to see they have better prices than Amazon.

I had a bad experience recently. Went in about an hour and a half before closing to purchase an elliptical. No one came out to help, I had to go to the front of the store where 5 employees were hanging out to get someone to assist me. The guy had a drink in his hand while on the floor with us, very unprofessional. When we were ready to pay the cashier rang us up for double the advertised price ($1000+). It took a while for the staff to figure things out. We were asked to wait for a delivery slip since we requested that service only to wait for 20 minutes and have the cashier tell us to leave and just call a number if we didnt hear anything back in a couple days. We paid and left the store with nothing in hand. Were in the process of getting things delivered but by far that was the worst service ever. Never shopping there again.
Great customer service and taking necessary precautions during a very tough time. Ordered online and had it ready for pick up first thing in the morning. They made it quick and easy!
Online order pick up was a little bumpy. Even having my order number and receipt, it took a little while to locate my order. This was after I had called the previous day, waited on hold to verify they had my order and call was disconnected. No one tried to me back.
Shoe section is awful. Nothing is matched near the display causing you to hunt high and low for the shoes you’re looking for. Not to mention the poor selection of sizes.
Went for a simple gun rack that wasnt in the firearms section where you would think it should be. The staff in the gun area was to lazy to leave the counter and show you where the item was. Instead all 3 of them just pointed across the store and said its over there. When I finally found the gun rack it was missing all the nuts and wing bolts to secure it in a vehicle. Definitely an all around bad experience except for the cashier who was nice and friendly.
Was looking for a pair of shoes. The boxes were so mixed up and out of order I couldnt find any of the shoes I was interested in. I ended up leaving because I didnt have time to sort through all the boxes.
Employee was very rude and would not help in the tennis shoe area. Dont stack shoe boxes 10 feet over the customers head if you are not going to have help that is willing to get it down for you.
I submitted my background check to purchase a firearm the last week of March. Today is 4/25/20 and I have YET to receive a call from ANYONE! But thats fine because I also submitted my background check at Clyde Armory 4/10, they called me 4/23 and I went in the same day and purchased TWO Taurus 9mm G2Cs 😎😁
I went here after work one day to look at camping/kayaking gear. I love the store layout and prices. The only bad thing about it was no one asked me if i needed any help until I made it all the way around the store to the registers.
My daughter is in between sizes on softball pants and the dressing room attendant was awesome. She explained the differences in them and found us a pair that fit. We had gone through every rack and tried a few pairs.
Super easy to return shoes that fit poorly. They simply ordered a different pair in the size I needed, and offered several ways to have them delivered to my home! Hassle free, thats what I love!

First time here and Ill never come back. I just needed one item, folding cart, and I was having trouble finding it. There are no signs to help me determine what is where as far as down the aisles and I couldnt find an employee to help me. The only price tag was on the display item and what I wanted there was three different models that looked extremely similar. But the price difference was at least $10 depending on which you wanted. So I had to carry the item over to the scanner to make sure it was the right one. Finally get to the front with my big box, that keeps slipping from my hands, and no one offers to help me bring it out to my car.
Nice place with the prices in the range; but the selection of weapons is not very impressive. In particular the selection of handguns might definitely be improved.
Good experience order a fire arm on online went in to pick up. Order had concealed permit so in and out under ten minutes!

Other than the lady that was working in the shoe department and the other workers on the sales floor, it was ok. First, the lady in shoes was annoyed that we asked for help to find the other shoe to the display. She stood in front of the area and after looking she threw up her hands and said I dont know what to tell ya and then walked away. We gave up on the shoes and will just purchase them from Amazon. Then Academys credit card system was down but the kind girls from the registers walked up handing us $5 discounts, very nice gesture! We waited and not one employee spoke to us the entire hour we walked and shopped except for the girls at the front that check people out. If it wasnt for their kindness, we wouldve put our purchases down and shopped online for everything. Unfortunately, we have to shop the number one competitor because of the lack of customer service in the shoe department.

2022-06-18They seem slightly understaffed but its to be expected. I was greeted when I arrived, someone was there to answer my questions, purchase line was relatively quick and efficient! They took Apple/Google pay so it was even faster. Their branded sportswear is of decent quality and serves as an excellent alternative for those who are into actually into sports and on a budget! They also sell the name brand items and seem pretty well stocked in the frequently used inventory.

2022-02-05Always clean, neat & generally well-stocked. They carry clothes, shoes & a lot of equipment for outdoor activities and sports. Gear for hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, biking as well as some items for seasonal sports like soccer, swimming, football, baseball, softball, basketball, etc. Most employees are very helpful. Prices are generally reasonable and comparable to similar stores.

Its very nice to walk in somewhere and go to the isle where something is supposed to be and the shelves meet and tidy and most of the time what youre looking for is there.

2022-05-19The store seems to have a large assortment of sporting goods. One gripe is the shoe section. It is always a mess and there are never shoes in my size. They need to rethink that section. Man be a self-serve kiosk with just the displays visible. Digging through boxes is frustrating and I think inventory would be easier if it were not on the floor.

2022-05-26I love the merch they sell but I find it uncomfortable to shop there. Sales associates follow my family around like we are planning th steal what we have in our buggy. Ive spent lots of money there and Im still seen as someone who .may be a this. Ive bought multiple fire arms, countless shoes, clothing and more and of course Ive never stolen anything. Hey need to give people their space and stop assuming that since Im white with a mixed race family that I cant afford their products.

2022-03-22We wanted to purchase a swing set and some shoes. It seems like these are two of the worst things to buy there. The shoes are all mixed up and many not priced. The display shoes are in the wrong places. The swing set display is broken and the prices missing. Not full sized examples anywhere to see the quality. We got a few tshirts and probably wont go back to that location.
