Stores are closing left and right. Lots of empty spaces available for rent. The stores that are here are either way too expensive or they dont have anything you like. With exception of the big chain stores like Belk, JC Penneys, Dillards and a couple more, someone will open a store and within 1 to 1½ years they close the doors. This mall is soon to be DOOMED IMO!!!
Still a nice place to shop even though they took away a lot of the stores. I was disappointed in old navy and their clothing selection though. The cashier however was wonderful. She even offered to order what I was looking good and explained that what was the was all they had. She offered all the perks like a great salesman would. Loved Rue 21! That is my store! The options were great, the sales were well worth it, and again, great cashier! She was so good at her job she got me to buy a cologne! All In all, great experience.
Thank goodness for all their well placed seating benches. Thisold and worn out grandma really, really did appreciate a place to sit while her YOUNG GRANDDAUGHTERS continued on their hunt for bargains.P.s. unbelievable people watching place. Almost as good as ATLANTA international airport.
I remember when the mall had quality stores and was the place to be. It looks like it hasnt been updated since they built it, there are more empty stores and restaurants than there are opened ones...with more closing. There is no variety. Outside of Dillards and Belks the clothing choices are all urban and geared toward middle school to college aged children. Its going to be interesting to see what becomes of the rubble that used to be Sears.
Its been like 4 yrs since i last visited and a lot has changed but it is still a really nice mall to visit and you can take your kids shopping , it has Handicap parking and a button on the wall for the handicap person to push if theyre not occumpanied by someone .but the helper could also push the button for the both of them . It has several different stores to shop . There is 1 thing that i have read about the mall is that its owner is looking for a buyer for the entire mall . The owner said that the mall will continue normal business .
The visit was very good. They had what I was looking for. It was really nice inside. The workers watched you alot but I understood I dont come there often and they have been having so.e thief so I heard on the news. If I worked there I would do the same. The section I went to was the Cliquie area and they had what I needed so I was happy with my visit
This mall has died just like the rest of most retail shopping. The department stores are pretty much the only thing keeping this mall alive anymore. I will give Brett in Dillards Cosmetics a 5 star though. Anytime I go in to get a new cologne for myself or perfume for my wife, he is absolutely fantastic!
There was a moldy mildew smell on the Old Navy end of the mall. There are pretty decent stores and had to pretty good traffic in the mall. The food selection is okay. I love Books A Million. Went to college in Albany 15 years ago and I am so happy to see that it is still here.
This mall is in need of better management the outside entrance at Belks is filthy and trashy...Mall website is not updated...stores close at different hours so you never know if they will be open until the 7 oclock pm mall hours...not well kept...now the website says its open until 9pm but its not it still closes at 7pm some stores close earlier so like I said they need better management for real and updates that are correct😏also please post CORRECT HOURS as this mall still closes at 7pm weekdays!
I remember the Albany Mall back in its prime when everyone went there to shop or be seen. Times have changed and though it doesnt have that same vibe as yesteryear, there are still some nice shops there to do business with and everyone working there seems very friendly.
Black Friday shopping! Very busy. Vendors set up throughout the mall as usual. The retail stores had lots of great sales. Some sales were advertised, some werent. Got lots of great deals for the loved ones :). Security was very helpful when we needed to rent a stroller from the information desk. The restrooms were clean, but needed tissue in handicap stall. Overall it was a good place for holiday shopping.
This is just another dying mall. More than half the stores are empty and whats left isnt anything special. The pet store in this mall is absolutely awful and I would advise you not to visit the reptile room in said store. Every animal in there has a filthy, inadequate enclosure and they are obviously neglected. How the state hasnt shut them down is beyond me.
Nothing like it used to be when I was growing up but is doable if you just want to get out of the house. Went to Great American Cookies yesterday. The cashier was wearing no mask. She then proceeded to open the cookie box and talked all over it before placing the cookie in the box. As I looked around I noticed EVERYONE in the food court who were servers and security were ALL wearing their masks. I swear I should not have purchased that cookie but I did not want to make a scene. I told my son that I was sorry but he definitely was not going to be eating that cookie. To the trashcan it went!!!
This mall is practically a ghost town. Albany is dying and businesses cant survive here apparently. The mall signs havent even been replaced since hurricane Michael destroyed them in 2018. Dont the owners have insurance???!! The maintenance the pavement around the mall needs is atrocious. There is a cleaning crew (they do nothing) but the mall is not clean and its really quite sad. This place USED to be the place to go but it hasnt been taken care of in all long long time.
Great selection, but if you have mobility problems its hard because you have a long way to walk. Also this mall could use signs that tell you what stores or restaurants are which way on the outside and inside. Its very exhausting and stressful if you have to do lots of shopping or need to go to the restroom. I think it was made to confuse customers. Very overwhelming and easy to get lost.
I love the Albany Mall. For a smaller town, there are still quite a lot of places to choose from. The mall food is good, and restrooms are almost always clean. The atmosphere is quiet nice, and there are normally different events going on throughout the mall. And I always enjoy the Christmas display.
Was visiting the area for work and I must say there was not a lot of stores to choose from and what is there is somewhat rundown and has limited styles. We entered through the Dillards entrance and it had a weird smell similar to mold or an old dirty gas station bathroom. I definitely wouldnt return.
Its decent food spots inside the mall I havent eaten from any of them yet. I have two fav stores I always visit... Old Navy and rue 21 plus. They always have nice clothes and actual plus size clothing. The prices are decent. Plenty of parking and other stores to visit. Its decent
This mall is ok it has decent stores. But Im from Nashville TN so I have a lot of options there. I just recommend you be careful of the 3 stores I went to with my wife and son. Two of them had sale prices posted that they did not give me when I checked out. So now on Christmas eve I have to go back when it will be busy to get it fixed. At one store the girl was so busy talking she did not even ring up everything I took to the register. So now I have to go back and get the items that were left out because they are presents for Christmas. Just be careful and watch when you check out because they will over charge you with a smile on there face and no care in the world.
The Mall has several types of stores, including retail, and service shops as well as spots to eat, get a snack or coffee. I was surprised to see a salon dedicated to shaping eyebrows. The whole mall is spotless, well lit and roomy. There are places to sit on comfortable benches in visually appealing areas. There is a kids recreation spot with stationary rides shaped like cars and trucks and even a school bus that they can drive. I was there on a weekday and there were not many shoppers, so everything went fast and smoothly.
Going down hill fast. Nearly 1/3 of the stores are shuttered. Trash ALL OVER the place outside. Still has the 4 anchor stores of JCPenney and Dillards and Belk and BAM but besides those and Old Navy and Bath and Body Works the rest of the stores are cheap clothes places like Dezign, Rue 21, etc. So sad because the Albany Mall used to be the place to be and shop. Its been going down for the last few years but this visit was the worst I have seen it. I guess malls are a thing of the past which is sad. 😥
The only trustworthy places are : The jewelry repair shop in front of the information area, the pizza place in the food court. The other places in the mall are a revolving door or employees that are shady and have no clue as to what customer service requires. Want to keep you idenity safe and secure? Stay away from this mall unless you do business with the two places I mentioned earlier.
Never has been the greatest mall like most malls in small towns, but it has held its own. The mall is nearly 1/4 empty... but at least it has a Journeys. They do make a good effort with community events and they have an adorable Santa around the holidays. More major retailers should give this mall a chance as it is the only mall within a 75 mile radius and has a lot of potential!
We did not visit a clothing store in the Albany Mall. We visited the pet store, looking for a teacup poodle. They did not have one and did not expect to have one any time soon. They were friendly and answered all of our questions satisfactorily. They also took our names and phone numbers, stating that if they got a teacup poodle or information on a teacup poodle they would let us know.
I love shopping at the mall. The variety of stores assures you will find what youre looking for. Most of the stores there have excellent customer service. Its always clean and the food court is the best part of the whole experience!! If you visit Albany, GA. I would definitely recommend a trip to the Albany Mall.
Its ok. Me and my friend come here sometimes on Saturday and Sunday. We walk around the whole mall in 30 minutes to an hour. Its not the best but good for a small town. We go to the same stores every time and look at shoes etc. Need more modern stuff its laid back to the old time.
The only one stop shop in town for clothing, home goods, pet supplies, shoes, and other random services such as massage. Caters more to the urban crowd with extremely oversized clothes for the men and extremely tight provocative clothing for the ladies. Good place for all your Phat farm, baby Phat, and Bebe clothing needs.
Its a bit difficult to rate the mall as a whole when the score it receives depends on the individual stores inside of it. So even though B.A.M. is seemingly a good store, does the quality of Belks service and their pricing bring it down? Its in good shape and the security guard once helped me get my oreos out of the vending machine. But, it could use a few more stores.
Its a small town mall, not much to offer, but anything better would take some time to drive to, and in my opinion is the better decision. There isnt much to look at if you plan to shop here, even less if youre a guy. It used to be a great place to shop, to hang out. Now its on the decline. I hope more vendors and variety come to the area, it is sorely needed.
Has a decent amount of big name stores such as Dillards, JC Penney, Spencers Gifts, Journeys, and others, but it also has some lesser know stores that really only serve a few purposes that may not be what you are looking for. Theres also alot of homeless people that hang around inside, but they dont bother people. I think theyre just looking to get some Cool AC. Overall its a pretty decent facility!
Its ok...stores are great. But they do not have scooter rental for people with disabilities. Which is wrong. A person cannot manage a wheelchair and go through the mall.Fox River Mall in Wisconsin has the scooters, which are free for you to us. It helps keep the mall alive. I talked to the woman who had the manual whee
Exterior is sad. It needs to be repainted. They do have family friendly events that they could advertise better. The walkers are polite, and dont slow the flow of traffic. There are at least a few stores for all types: urban young and adult, southern cowboy and cowgirl types, and traditional stores like Belk, JC Penney, and Old Navy.
Only mall in the area, haha.We always stop by the Books-A-Million and see what new books came out or are on sale... but we usually end up buying a new board game.Prices are comparable to Amazon if there is a sale or you are a Member. Its nice just to walk around and browse.
Decent Mall since most are closing down due to the availability to make online purchases. Friendly locals and even has a Chuck E Cheese (kids play area which can be inexpensive depending on how long your family stays. $10 got my son and hour of games. They also have a method by an invisible numbered stamp that shows under a black light so your child cant leave with s stranger.
Okay! This place is heart breaking, 10 years ago this place was wonderful locals all around would love to shop. Now this is literally a dump, no good stores and completely run down. Dirty smelly outdated. Please someone come save this place before it completely falls to the ground. Who ever runs this mall should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen. What a disgrace to the community!!!!! Do better Albany!!!!!!!
We were down in Albany to visit my daughter and we got the chance to walk around the mall . This mall has a JC Penneys in it which is unbelievable as well as many other stores that you normally dont find in a big city. And they have a Kirklands also which is so wonderful the people here are extremely friendly and customer service is great. You must visit this mall
Every year, this mall just sinks lower and lower. The only reason we even step foot in the door is for the Chinese restaurant. I never shop here anymore, its always over run with loud crowds, just walking around, not shopping, whooping and hollering. And usually its not kids doing it.Albany itself is becoming a cesspool and I hate having to step foot in it
Only good thing about this mall is the fact that there is a Chick-fil-A in the food court and the Booksamillion store is usually pretty empty, so you can shop in peace. Do yourself a favor and keep on trucking to Columbus or even Atlanta--the pickings in this mall are pretty slim.
I miss my mall..😐😐😐..the Albany Mall isnt what it once was. Times a changed and I get that..but I remember Take Ten, Sears, Babbages, KB Toy Store, Dollar Tree(now outside the mall 😂), A&W restaurant(it was THE BEST)..now the only respectable places left are cinnabon, blue moon, Auntie Annies and Shoe Dept. Other places have either closed or about to close. Or just act snobby. It sucks because I love visiting the mall for nostalgia.
When going here for lunch or dinner Wing Dixie has the best deal I have ever seen for French fries. the family French fries are huge and served in a large box and just 4 dollars. Enough fries for 3 to 4 adults and the medium fries for 2.50 is is a large paper bag full of fries.
I had a good experience at Albany Mall . Taken my jewelry for inspection first stop was Kay Jewelers. Very nice staff , nearly everyone in store asked me if I needed help . Kay Jewelers cleaned all my jewelry plus the items that I didn’t purchase there . Nice conversation while I waited . Then off to Zale jewelers. Ooops ! I’d forgotten my inspection paperwork. Zale did clean my ring told to return with warranty information. Also informed me if unsuccessful locating my information they have no problems with contacting corporate to get me back on right track. I walked the mall since I’m new here in Albany. I noticed I didn’t see any security police person patrolling the mall . Maybe they seen me ( undercover) . During my walkthrough the mall the aroma was fantastic. Very tempting to grab something to eat . I held out knowing my wife had a planned dinner an waiting for me . Boy was I wrong, I’d taken too long of a visit at the mall an didn’t get the key ingredients my lovely wife asked me to pick up for dinner .
This is a place where a couple of friends can actually hangout and buy a lot at, especially at the pets store but you have to be rich in order to buy a dog there because they cost $599 and when they are on sale they cost $299 so youd better save up your money or you can demand a decrease on dog prices protest because most of them or too cute to just leave behind.
I Love it. Different stores to walk around and shop for things. There is also a pet store in here. I greatly recommend. You can basically just walk around evem if you dont want to buy anything. There is a kids place calld Chucky Cheeses and kids love it. We take my step daughter there and she enjoys it to the fullest.
The Albany mall has a variety of stores that may appeal to most people. I very rarely find myself going here in the present year of 2020. Over the years, the mall has lost a lot of stores which comprised all the reasons for my visits. These days Ill go with my wife very rarely just to get a pretzel and drink from Auntie Annes. Other than that, Books A Million is about the only store I ever visit in the mall.
Outdated. Needs a facelift. Also needs to work on drawing stores for the entire population of Albany. Way too many stores that are not names everyone would know. Raising the rent scares off a lot of business. Locally owned businesses that come and go will be the death of the mall.
I walked into the bathroom at Dillards and first off it was stank af, and second there was a lady in the stall and it wasnt locked and I opened it and she slowly closed it back. I swear it was the most akward situation but my sister did the same thing and she closed it back slowly. You guys need to remodel and fix that bathroom because its small and the doors dont lock.
Great place to buy gifts my wife went here at work gifts for coworkers they always have nice stuff Victorias Secret always have a deal on their perfumes and hand lotions I recommend this place to anyone because they have a variety of things that you can get and theyre not that expensive as everyone think they might be
The Albany Mall is one of the last few major shopping venues in Albany. Weve lost one of the major Anchor stores, Sears, but still have a JC Penneys, Dillards, and Belks, along with a Books-a-Million. There used to be a Sears Auto Center on the perimeter of the property, but of course that left with the main store.Several other notable stores include: Chuck-E-Cheese located adjacent to the primary entrance; Best-Buy Mobile tucked into a corner of the Food Court; a pet store (Pet-Sense, I believe?) around the second wing of the mall near the entrance to JC Penneys. Ill include a more detailed list below. The mall is overall kept pretty clean. Ive found its service personnel to be friendly and attentive. Food options are unfortunately limited, and what few non-branded options are there, are not all that great. Chick-fil-A, Auntie-Annes, Cinnabon, and Great American Cookies are all up to par.My biggest complaint though is the restrooms - Though they are kept clean, there is only one public set in the whole mall. They are tucked into a side hallway inside the mall, near the west entrance to Belks. Its out of the way, and worse, out of public view. Even though Ive never had an issue, I cant help but feel a little exposed every time I have to head down that hallway. All that being said, its not a bad place to do your shopping. Ive heard wind of a few promising stores coming in to fill the void left by Sears. If anything major comes through, Ill update this post accordingly.STORES LIST (Curr. Small mall, ltd stores due to the fact Albany just has problems supporting businesses whether local or otherwise. Dont go often bcs half the other customers are loud, foul mouthed often, rude, lots of teenagers bcs little else for them to do here, & half are very ill-mannered. Speedy & aggressive parking lot drivers. Usually leave feeling annoyed.
Same report as others in Albany stores with black employees dont wanna help you if your not their color employees treat you like youre bothering them and blow and are very short with customers as myself have experienced over and over its gotten so bad that and theft businesses are leaving unable to gain repeat customers due to customer service and employees are forced to hire minorities due to threat of business closure aweful aweful its terrible nobody seems to care so people have quit going to the Mall cause of the element thats there sorry truths truth I hate to even text this its so embarrassing cause Im black
Sadly, the Albany mall has began to decay and continues to lose vital retailers to maintain a diverse group of shopping needs for all consumers in our area. Being a former employee of the mall and residing in the community Ive witnessed it during both its high peaks of success and now at its lowest potential. Being a marketeer, I understand the development of the mall sector has greatly changed across the nation with the emergence and popularity of online shopping. Ecommerce is the downfall of the traditional Brick & Mortar. Because a tool that was to increase incremental sales and encourage convenience for consumers, along with being readily available to anyone regardless of where they resided has taken over and is monopolizing traditional retailers. Honestly, I could go on and on, but I will not. I will simply say that the Albany mall suffers the plagues of high online traffic, lack of modern appeal in infrastructure and trendy retail presence, such as H&M, Forever21, Charlotte Russe, etc to successfully compete at a fair advantage in a dying phase of shopping malls in the new millennium. I still hopeful someone with true passion will step in and resuscitate, along with renovate this structure to revitalize its life as a self sufficient shopping resource in SWGA.
This isnt a mall, its one step up from an in door flea market. The variety of stores is horrible. The owner of the mall has jacked rents up so high nothing can stay there long. Would be ashamed to lose it but sometimes things have to die in order for better things to grow.

2022-04-23Mall is on its last leg from what I guess. Half the stores are out of business and the other half is there. You had more workers than shoppers.I will say they have a display of childrens artwork which is really beautiful and inspiring. I would like a few pieces for my house.

2022-07-23This was my first time back in the Mall since i was about 18 years old. That was Im the 80s and the mall was jumping back then. It was a shock to see all the empty stores inside. The mall still has some good stores inside. The people who run the mall need o do more advertising in order to bring companies back. The food court is not empty. The brick oven pizzeria is still running and is a great place to eat. The people that work there were really out going and friendly. The food was also well made and tastey. If you get a chance please go and check it out for your self.

2022-06-14GOD bless this place and those stores and employees who remain open there. This place has great potential if the right person can pull in the right resources, entertainment and retailers. This was one of my favorite childhood places to go. Still fairly decent stores to shop from and decent parking. Let’s go shop there in person!

2022-05-03This place tot sucksThere stores have nothing I would ever wear. It has closed most of the big companies stores and opened up little local shops. But the clothes that offer I dont even think its legal to wear what they sale out in public. Pretty much a waste of time

2022-07-22Small, but in a great location. It has more stores open in this mall than in most locations weve been to recently, and still in good condition.

2022-06-10I wish they would make more effort to reach 100% occupancy. Too many empty bays, need to waive or drop rental fees once the place is full again it will reach critical mass and start to recover somewhat.

2022-06-10The mall is a good place but alot of shops are closed..its not like it used to be.
