Positive: Everyone on the staff was SO NICE and accommodating. We needed a last minute room because of a change in plans and Nahvah was the best! She helped get us into a room super early & gave us so many recommendations for restaurants and places to visit! 10000% Negative: ZERO complaints.
Other comments stating the hotel is generally unclean are very accurate. Its nice enough to look at, but in general the place needs a good deep cleaning. The walls were dirty, there was grime around all the outlets, loose plaster along the walls, etc...The staff is very friendly, and did a great job, but I just couldnt get over how unclean everything was. The beds were also rather uncomfortable and seemed old. I expected much more from a hotel by Marriot. I wouldnt stay here again.
Positive: The best thing I liked about Aloft is hands down the location and the view. I was able to choose what floor I wanted to be on as well. Negative: I didn¿t like that the hotel charged me $32/night for parking. I feel like after a certain amount of nights it should be peaked at a certain amount. I stayed 3 nights without no room cleaning & I had to initiate a lot of services that should be just do
This is the worst Marriott property that I have visited in years. Staff is very nice, but the building itself is run down. The bedside table was hanging off the wall by a thread. Maybe half of the lights worked in our room. Counters were heavily chipped/scratched. Clean, for the most part, but the building is simply worn out. Im a Bonvoy member and have tried to reach anyone within the organization that cares, but they really dont seem to be concerned. On the upside, you probably couldnt break anything if youre looking to party. Good luck!
The staff was extremely nice 😊 Mr. Orlando (I think that was his name ) to be exact . The room was a little under my expectations, but was doable for the two days I stayed . It was dust noticeable on two lamps which I noticed that first when I walked in . Then no trash bags in the trash cans . But other than that the stay was fine . The paid parking was great . Also as a suggestion the rooms need microwaves !
Booked this hotel on Expedia. We picked it because of they are dog friendly. The listed price for a pet was $50. When I checked into the hotel they said it was $75. I showed the manager that it was listed as $50. He did not care and would not correct it. It was 10pm at night so I stayed but never again.
Dont forget to use HotelBolly.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your resort. This web site will compare countless booking websites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper than others! Youre welcome :)! This resort is one of my favorites in the area. Ive been staying here for years. If you choose this place you for sure wont be disappointed.Everyone on the staff was SO NICE and accommodating. We needed a last minute room because of a change in plans and Nahvah was the best! She helped get us into a room super early & gave us so many recommendations for restaurants and places to visit! 10000%
Cool theme hotel. Probably was great when was new. Staff was completely fine.Hotel was pretty dirty. Walls you can see liquid splashed & dried on, not cleaned.Dont stay in room with wall sharing elevator back wall. Not all plugs work. Only two working usb plugs. We are titanium marriot members. No free breakfast, no smart tvs to sign into your own Netflix account etc. Very dated feeling. Our room also smelled costantly.Absolutely will never stay here again. For the price you can stay at a nicer, cleaner hotel for exact same price.
I hate to do this but this was the only bad experience I had ever had at a hotel. Front desk was great, however, the maintenance guy knocked on our door and said, “you’re wasting ice now?”, just because my nieces dropped a few while getting ice (common they’re kids AND he waited for them to come out to pick it up- THE 4 CUBES OF ICE!!). I’m sure it was because he was upset we put our trash outside of our door against the wall for housekeeping (as some guests do when they have DND signs, as we did). We thought we were doing housekeeping a favor so they didn’t have massive trash to clear out day of check out. But we heard him complaining outside of the door, so we opened the door and helped clean it up while he finished the rest. But I really appreciate the front desk management for apologizing, even though it was not their fault. I work in this industry so I believe no matter what kind of guest you have, especially when you’re in hospitality, you don’t treat your guests with rude attitude just for small and simple mistakes.
Positive: The location and staff were excellent. Negative: The hotel was poorly laid out. The refrigerator was under the bathroom vanity. The coffee pot was on a shelf in the clothes hanging area. The only private room (toilet/shower) had no locks. And it was dirty in the corners of the rooms.
Positive: Great location, close to Centennial Park, Museums, Restaurants, etc. Beds were really comfortable. Nice shower Negative: Internet was not good & would only work in certain parts of room. Some of the pillow cases were too small and would only cover about half the pillow. Some stains on furniture (i.e. coffee ring stains). Had to ask for shampoo.
The hotel has 3 elevators and only 1 of them was working during our stay of 4 days. the hotel was sold out. I was on the 6th floor. Having to walkup and down the stairs every time was ridiculous. and the last day I was there, I forgot my charging cords in my room. I called a few hours after check out to let them know I had left them in my room. Wildly enough, they were never located. What a bunch of dishonest staff! I will never stay there again and neither will my colleagues. We all had a very very bad experience there. Stay away from this hotel. There are much better ones in the area.
Great location for Market HOWEVER rooms were very low quality and cost way more than air bnbs close by. Glass shower doors installed incorrectly and sound like it will shatter when it closes. Cieling was filthy from the ac blowing on it. That Did NOT help our allergies.. but staff was helpful. Bar didnt have ANY off their advertised drinks on the menu. Spent $30 for 2 drinks that were not good. I watched the bartender pull out 1/2 a Flat coke to make which was the only coke she had. They really need corporate to fix a lot of the issues.
Staff are great. The problem is that the room is showing its age. Especially the bathroom. Shower has a curtain and a floor lip but it doesnt keep the water inside very well. One shower i had water covering the floor till the toilet on the other side of the bathroom.Looks like the toilet had it has leak problems. It had a lot of silicone applied to the base and not nearly done. The problem there is the floor is tiled and not flat enough for the toilet. Shifting your weight on the toilet and the whole thing rocks. Instead of fixing the floor they choose to try silicon which doesnt really work because the wax seal will always fail in this case eventually.Bathroom door is a barn door design. Problem is when closed there is nothing to keep it from swinging away from the wall. People who want some privacy might find it disconcerting.Great location downtown, close to the aquarium.
Not even sure where to begin. First, the hotel smells like cigarettes. I dont care too much about that, but I can see how someone would. Front desk staff is horrific - especially at night. We had no remote or complimentary waters in room. Room was dark & dingy & dusty. But worse than anything, we ordered pizza & 2 sodas from Dominos. Dominos didnt deliver for 3.5 hrs, and we fell asleep. They left at the front desk, but front desk didnt call us or otherwise notify us that it ever arrived. When checking out, the morning staff said that the night crew had eaten it. There were 2 pieces left when she came in, and she threw it out. No clue where the sodas went. I am a silver elite Marriot member, and I am shocked at the behavior of these people. Honestly.
Positive: Friendly guest staff and easy check in/check out process. Negative: Room looked as if it had seen better days, questionable cleanliness but bed linens did appear to be fresh. Shower head was leaking. Upon check in, the key card system was down, so security escorted us to the room. Keys were available the next morning.
For Modex 2022 I booked a room through the MHI Modex web-site. Cancelation was done 8 days prior to the dead-line. I have made (3) phone calls requesting credit for the initial charge to secure the room. Each time I am assured by the hotel staff that a credit has been issued. MArch 9 charge and now May 11 and no credit has been issued. The hotel staff are not professional and certainly no honest or ethical relative to adhearing to their own published business policies. I have filed a complaint with BBB and filed a dispute with AE to get my money back.
Hotel was booked last minute due to change of plans. Lobby looked really nice and welcoming and gives you a “I wanna hang out here” feeling. Late night bartender on Tuesday night feb 10 was amazing. She definitely vibed with us and made us really great drinks, I wish I remembered her name so I can give her KUDOS. Security and front desk lady at night time were great. They were looking out for us as we stepped out for a moment. Overall nighttime crew made us feel welcomed and provided fantastic hospitality. But the people in the morning definitely gave us some stares when we came down in our oversized hoodies (it was cold.) definitely didn’t make me feel welcomed and like I should just crawl back in the room and not step out unless I’m fully dressed to take on the day. We got the same stare from the housekeeping lady that was cleaning the room next door. Not sure what was so different about us but don’t wanna assume the worst. We came down at 9:30 to get breakfast even though their menu is until 10am - they advised that we couldn’t place an order so we had to leave the hotel and get breakfast elsewhere. When we came back once again we got some uncomfortable stares (I suppose because of the hoodies…) but it was a cold morning and we are from Florida. Also the parking price was ASTRONOMICAL. Rooms weren’t the cheapest. But having to pay extra for parking was definitely a downer. $32 per day. So paid a total of $64 just for parking. That definitely makes me think twice about staying here again. This was a business trip mixed with a splash of leisure. It was overall a decent place to stay. If we had received the same hospitality in the morning that we got at night AND the parking was free or maybe not so overpriced - then this place would’ve been a 10/10 for us.
Positive: The front desk guy was great and very accommodating Negative: The person that checked me in gave me a hard time I was double charged for incidentals Another family was trying to get in the same room I was in not even 5mins of being in the room My CAR Was Broken into AND I was parked near the main front entrance
We stayed at the Aloft Atlanta Downtown and Nahvah B. at guest services was AHHHHMAZING!!!!! She was always so prompt to answer our questions and worked hard to keep us comfortable. She went above and beyond in customer service. Next time we are in Atlanta, we are staying at the Aloft. We were welcomed with open arms and our stay was the perfect zen getaway. Thank you, Nahvah!
Front desk directed us to a room # that didn’t exist, second room the door wouldn’t open, third room was filthy with dirty fingerprints on paper glasses, urine/urine stain down the front of toilet, dusty and water spots on trim. Mildew in shower! We were lied to multiple times by staff prior to arrival, during stay, and by assistant manager after departure! To say our stay was a disappointment would be a significant understatement!
Positive: N/A INWANT MY MONEY BACK. Negative: The staff was rude, unhelpful, and insulting. The room was like a trashed jail cell. We checked out within an hour or so of being there. No one asked why or what they could do. The guy at the front desk refused to apologize for our terrible experience.
Place was adequate. Room was clean. Nothing special stood out. Front desk staff were friendly. Had to go to front desk to get shampoo when we checked in. Room only had conditioner and body wash available. No longer get daily cleaning. Only allowed every 3 days. Part of the reason we selected this location was having a bar available. Was more of a counter and closed at 10 pm. Pets allowed. Heard barking dog all the way down the hall the first night.
First room they gave me was extremely dirty (see pics below). Giving 2 stars because the night shift front desk switched my room and was truly apologetic. However, tried to speak with front desk staff the following day and was told my problem was fixed by relocating me to another room and nothing can be done. For the price, there are much better options.
Giving one star is being generous. Paid $300 for the night for the room to be infested with ants coming out of the a/c unit. The floor in the room was soaking wet. When I mentioned this to the lady at the front desk she couldn’t have cared less, she wrote down a note on a paper and told me to have a good day. For being such a nice hotel I was extremely disappointed with my stay and will not be returning.
I called the day before to ask for an early check in and the person who helped me was great and said it was possible and confirmed me for an early check in. When I arrived on Thursday, the person at the counter claimed I didn’t have an early check in without even looking for my reservation and didn’t even seem like they were interested in helping me to figure something out I had to insist multiple times that I did and she begrudgingly looked me up and gave me a room. Then the room was gross. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, discolored grout in the shower (I hope it wasn’t mold) - there was a half empty bottle of body wash in the shower and the mini lotion in the bathroom was also half-empty. The counter by the window had peeling wood veneer all around the vent and none of the cups for the coffee were covered or sanitary in any way. I won’t be back and I wouldn’t ever recommend the hotel to a friend. I have stayed at alofts before and I usually love them and was looking forward to a nice stay, but on seeing the condition of the room when I arrived, my heart sank and I was almost tempted to see if I could cancel and move hotels.
Staff was friendly and courteous however the lobby and rooms need a facelift. Everything is in slight disarray downstairs (torn/stained furniture.) The rooms are dark, need more than two outlets and the TV is outdated. Not what I expected for Aloft. All in all, sorry to say will not be staying at this location again.Below is a colleague’s room broken fixtures and a mini-fridge in the bathroom.
When we checked in, the staff was friendly and inviting. However we were informed that there was a private party at the pool and it would be closed to the public until 7pm. Since I paid more money to stay at a hotel with a pool, I was extremely disappointed. Then, we got to our room to find scotch tape on the walls around the windows and the ceiling above the bed. It appeared that the previous occupant hung balloons in the room and housekeeping couldn’t be bothered to take the tape off the walls. Also, there was only 2 towels in the bathroom and I never got the extras that I requested from the front desk. I really wanted to like this hotel. I’ve had great stays at other Aloft hotels. With all the options in downtown ATL, I will probably chose another hotel for my next stay.
EXTREMELY UNHAPPY. I booked this hotel 7.27 for a business trip in January because I knew that the hotels fill up fast and we needed to be within walking distance of the market for my business partner. Wake up this morning 4 months later after booking to an email saying that they canceled our reservation. Now we are SOL with hotels that are even available and are not an arm and a leg in price. DO NOT BOOK A HOTEL HERE AS THEY ARE UNRELIABLE!
My Initial room had to be switched due to dirty bedding. The second room wasn’t much better. The bedding was not clean, things in room was very dusty, the overall appearance just was not clean at all. No daily room cleaning and when I called about it they say it was only done upon request due to Covid. However we never were offered fresh towels or wash clothes without calling to ask. The staff was amazing especially Dory we loved her. I just think the staff needs to do a better job at cleaning. A dirty room ruins your whole stay and with Covid a good cleaning is mandatory.
This place is nice from the outside until you get to the rooms, they need some renovations; we have no control over the heater so we were frizzing in the morning, there was alcohol drinks left in the fridge from previous guest, bedsheets were wrinkled. My fiancé drop his phone behind the bed and there was trash (paper straws, a plastic bottle…) the fridge was in the bathroom area!. The only reason we stayed here was because my fiancé wanted to find a hotel with Tesla chargers.
Called in to reserve, got one quote over the phone and ended up paying more upon arrival. Once I checked in, the room I reserved was no longer available so I had to settle for another. The clerk said that she would be able to give me a discount in parking for the inconvenience ($34 to $16) for one night.Once I got in my room, I looked pretty decent with a nice skyline view of downtown. Went to shower and they didnt have any body wash in the filler on the wall and the little extra bottles of body wash and little lotions was pre-used. The customer service was good, beds are comfortable, it was nice and quiet, TV was ok however at this point I feel that hotels like this should come with Roku or something a little more update instead of basic cable.Overall, it was a nice stay just need to tweak a few things with how they accommodate and theyll be top notch!
This hotel is in a fantastic location and is very popular for Americas Mart visitors. It certainly shows it as well. The rooms are tired, dark, and beat up. It’s very hard to work because of the lack of lighting. The tiles were falling off the walls in the bathroom as well as very dirty grout. The entire room could use a fresh coat of paint, lamp and a comfortable chair to sit in. The linens were clean and the bed was adequate as far as comfort. I understand COVID has changed travel but I have stayed here prior to COVID-19 and these concerns were apparent then as well. Marriott needs to invest a little $ in this property, I’m sure they profited enough in this location to give it some love.
Had a very great time spending my trip with the wonderful personnel at the place. The hotel was excellently clean and great service, fun and they are very friendly staff were great specifically Ariel at the front desk. She was super NICE immediately warm and smiling and friendly. Also, I met with Bo general manager, he was very good at care for his customers and he provided us with excellent customer service, remembering my name makes me want to give my business even more. I have only great things to say about this place and wherever we travel to Atlanta we will stay here! I would give them 10 out of 10 and they deserve it!!! Thank you and I am looking forward to seeing you soon!Z. Kano
If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. Absolutely disgusting. I should’ve known after noticing the horribly stained rug when you first walk into the hotel. That should’ve been my first sign to run but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. The first room I was given, half the lights didn’t work. When I switched to a new room, the lights worked and I was able to take a good look around. What I found was appalling. Mold in the shower, the marble countertop chipped, floor tiles chipped, dirt build up in the corners, hairs all over one bed, and the other bed with stains. Needless to say I immediately checked out and found a new hotel. Would never recommend this to anyone.
This place is beautiful, sanitized frequently, caters to your needs eg. I needed coffee at 5:30am and the front desk went out their way to make some fresh for me which was so helpful on my journey so early in the morning. The location has a beautiful view of the city as well as very comfortable bedding. Gym is large and spacious, love the art deco. If u are looking for a boutique hotel I would recommend this one for sure. Not to mention its walking distance to a lot of attractions.
They charged me a price different then online and different then what was told to me when I checked in ... on top of that I had to pay for breakfast for it to taste sooooooooo terrible like sooooo bad .... I can make food out the box that taste better 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 Shower has what I’m assuming is mold on ceilings unless it’s just dirt idk which is worse . And there’s a weird squeaky sound out of the wall that’s been keeping me up ! Boyfriend says it’s pipes I think it sounds like mice!
This hotel needs some TLC. The walls are banged up. The rooms are so oddly designed. Staying with 2 kids and not having any dressers, just kind of left the room a mess and unorganized. The thermostat didnt adjust the actual temperature of the room and I was told it couldnt be fixed. There were no working fans in the bathroom. So when I hot showered myself and then the 2 kids each night, our entire room was left steamy and the bed sheets feeling wet. The room was very humid. My appreciation for this hotel is the staff. Every single employee I encountered was so incredibly friendly. We were in and out of the lobby and pool area a lot. All the front desk staff, cleaning crew, bartender, security guards, the manager, EVERYONE, so incredibly friendly. The staff at this hotel is what made this hotel. I know it is hard to find good staff right now, so appreciate what you got right now. The people are what made this trip for us.
I heard great things about hotel years ago so I booked a room just for a get away for my husband and I, walking in lobby everything looks exciting, once off elevator, the carpet walking to your room is so dirty, stains all over and it has a bad odor (4th floor). Our king size room was very nice but the tiles on shower has previously fell off and staff laid the tiles back in place Unglued so they just fell over. Other then that staff was very nice and pool was fun.
We reserved the location Months in advance and when we checked in the nice lady said yes we have the reservation. And I do see we still have rooms available as if they planned to give them away. Next if Im paying almost 300 a night - I expect complimentary breakfast......which its not, must pay for breakfast. I will give it the nice beds and Convenient location - All in all, it was OK for me. Well likely have to book here again for next DragonCon because of how Convenient it is in distance but if another one opens up just as close - Its a consideration to look at
Dont listen to all the bad reviews those are people expecting 5 star hotels for the money this place was great I had no issue it was right in the middle of the city room was clean pretty cold but Im not complaining everything I needed was there customer service was great only two complaints the chips need to be rotated out because they were stale and the iron was kind of busted but everything else was to my liking
Everything was average. The hotel was decently cleaned, but staff was somewhat rude and unwilling to help. The check-in process was quick but we were given no information other than where to park and what room number we had. Apparently there is a bar and a pool on the property? We had no idea. The cleaning lady came to our room 30 minutes before checkout and asked us to leave.
I am usually not a picky traveler but given the rate of the hotel plus parking fee, the hotel didn’t meet expectations. The hotel carpeting was stained throughout, especially main lobby area really needs to be deep cleaned. The furniture also had tears and stains in the main lobby area. No matter the time of day, the marijuana smell creeped into our room. The noise from outside and within the hallway was concerning. Clientele staying at the hotel seemed rather rough and used very inappropriate language in common spaces even with children present.I appreciated the workers service, especially the security guard. Lobby area with snacks and bar were a good perk as well. Towels were delivered promptly when requested.
My friends and I had a great time. The staff were very welcoming. Checked in at 5, my linen wasn’t finished yet, so I had to wait. For waiting I received a parking comp for my stay, which I REALLY appreciated! The room was very clean/ sanitized, and the beds/ pillows were very comfortable. The hotel is close to everything & in a great location. Everything was a 5-10 minute ride. Even some places walking distance. Would come back any day.
I booked the Aloft for a quick memorial weekend with family. Upon arrival I sadly surprised by all the additional fees and overnight parking which I understand is a within normal price. However the room was poorly maintained, the lamps above bed didnt work, couldnt request towels and additional toilet paper front desk stated we had to come and get it ourselves which was very rude and odd. Eventually we received a knock at the door and security guard brought it up. Rooms need updating and a fresher apperace.
Positive: Hotel was definitely clean and the parking was available. So close to all the things we wanted to do we didn¿t have to pay for any other parking in the city. Room was huge. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Negative: Nothing really. The shower door was broken and the shower was clean but could use some repair. We were on the first floor so it was a bit noisy but the staff person knew it would be, offered us a different room but we wanted the king bed so that¿s on u
I called ahead of time because we were running a little late due to a important meeting lasting longer we traveled from Alabama 4 hr drive we still arrived with in our check in. I called and the gentlemen informed me that we would still have our reservation when we arrived they ran out of rooms and said all they had left were double beds. It’s not what we paid for or reserved the lady gonna tell us that the rooms are first come first serve. I asked how is that when we made a reservation and paid for the room already so our room should have still been available she goes to tell me that there was nothing she could do and we would have to take the room with double beds . When we get to the room it still needed some cleaning. The tub was very dirty and we didn’t have any trash bags. We stayed for 3 days and didn’t get any fresh towels and wash clothes the entire stay.
For the money, we expected a much better experience. The restaurant/bar was closed most of the time, staff was mediocre in their attentiveness. Bed was uncomfortable. Parts of the hotel seemed to be in need of maintenance. The room was clean, but it seemed that everything was just not up to par for the price we paid.
DO NOT STAY HERE. The pictures look way nicer than the actual hotel and give a false perception of the property. The hotel was extremely dirty beginning when you stepped into the reception desk area. There was not a surface in the hotel room that was not dirty, sticky, or broken. The sheets had dirt and makeup on them and did not look like they had been cleaned. When concerns were brought up, the staff was rude and unhelpful. The situation made us feel unsafe. Upper management at marriot also called the hotel to help us minimize our stay without penalty - staff was rude and hung up on them multiple times, refusing to tell them their name or resolve the situation. We ended up leaving after one night and staying at another nearby hotel.
We were told the wrong price at booking. We were told parking was included in our stay by a guy named Craig. We were in town for our grandmothers funeral. We got in late and we’re told that parking was not included in our rate. We asked for feather free room, because of allergies. We were told the hotel was feather free. When we got to the room there were stains on the sheets black smudges on the pillows. Our son had to sleep in the bed with us. In the morning the room phone didn’t work, our iron didn’t work and the coffee maker had brown stuff and hair in the back… I had to keep asking house keeping for new unstained towels, iron, and coffee maker. I got in the shower and found hair in it. Our room was not properly cleaned. While my wife was at the funeral I asked multiple times to get new polyester pillows and have our sheets changed. House keeping came in while we were gone gave us new towels and had the audacity to remake the beds with the same stained linen!!! So we didn’t get new sheets until our last night of our stay. I’ve stayed at Aloft before years ago in FL and there is no way that this one in ATL compares. The staff was nice, and the pool was nice and the bar was great. Also no chalk for the pool table… :(
The bedroom area was fine, but the bathroom is the issue. We stayed in room 709 I believe. The door separating the sink from the shower would not shut (so no privacy), as well as the shower door. The water easily splashed onto the floor when using the shower, and the room really looked like it was not cleaned efficiently at all. There were also marks on the wall that looked like stripes of something unknown, so it could use a fresh coat of paint. The main concern was really the bathroom which is a high contact area. Everything else was fine!
Why don’t you have room service? Other aloft hotels I’ve stayed at (Orlando downtown, for instance) do and the food/drink menu is available online. Your parking system is flawed. You have people pull a ticket to get into the lot, but then you give them another ticket/number at the check-in counter and tell them to use their room key to get in/out of the lot. I’m just telling you, you didn’t get my money for parking because I pulled a ticket to get in and used my room key to get out. Your bad. The remote control for my TV had weak batteries to the point that it would only work if I was standing right in front of the TV. The alarm clock on my night stand was old, yellow and gross. No one uses those nowadays; just take them out (major eye sore). You didn’t have a king bed room available when I arrived even though I had reserved one and check in early through the Bonvoy app, so I had to settle for a double Queen. Your breakfast food selection is lack-luster. The bartender was excellent; just wish I could have had a drink delivered to my room.
The rug entering the hotel is stained badly. Hole in wall in our guest room. Stains all over the carpet outside elevator & stains on walls. Staff was rude & ran out of supplies they shouldn’t have — bath cloths, plastic cutlery, etc. Did not meet expectations for a Marriott property. The AC hotel around the corner is much nicer.
Positive: Location Negative: had to ask for a light and only received a desk light, we were told there s/b a floor lamp never got It, there was a coffee maker without a pot, the toilet was almost on the floor very uncomfortable, the mattress and pillow was too soft for both of us.
This place is a dump! The room smells the furniture is falling. The staff was rude! The carpet to the hotel lobby was disgusting! I was so, disgusted I left for another hotel! Also, it was strange people come in/out. I did not feel safe!! However, I stayed at the Aloft in Dubai in 2019 & it was beautiful the staff and vibe was excellent!!
I was concerned about staying in a Hotel simply because I havent traveled since the Covid Lockdown. The experience was an overall 10. My room was exceptionally clean, the staff super friendly, and there were a few times when they went out of their way to help with accommodations. In the future, I will be staying exclusively at Aloft Hotel in Downtown Atlanta. And I will make it a point to start booking through Aloft and other Marriott-affiliated properties in the future. 10 out of 10!
I stayed at this hotel from late October 2020 until late April 2021 on a weekly basis for a local project. I can only recommend this hotel if the location is perfect and/or you need the parking clearance as I did because they have an open parking lot. Otherwise staying here it is a complete mixed bag. A couple of the staff are cool. One gentleman started to remember me on name basis and that was nice. He was routinely helpful and welcoming. Most others, not so much. They are either overwhelmed or it is just the wrong job for them. One time I was greeted by someone wearing something that read “I hate everyone”. Yep, that’s what you want to see when you check into a hotel. Amenities. The bar has been closed 95% of the time. Patio for a period was closed because a car ran into it. It was taped off for months. The mobile key feature is unavailable due to covid I’ve been told and sometimes they key cards give errors, especially recently. Gym is awful. I don’t use the pool. Snack area is seriously lacking and for a period, several weeks, they had no bottled water. Rooms. I think I’ve seen it all. You may or may not have a fridge or microwave. Bulbs might be out. Window shades were broken and maintenance changed them out with the cheapest not-light-blocking thing that could go up there. Sinks that don’t drain. Disassembled air units. Noisy air units. Air units that don’t control temperature well. Hope and pray you don’t get a high room close to the elevators because you’ll hear the machines clunk all night long. I hope they can turn it around, I really do. I think they have their work cut out for them though. Often times they are completely booked with guests that just don’t care, probably breaking things and leaving their trash all over the place. It can get pretty bad with the food trash in the parking lot. But in the meantime, I look forward to staying elsewhere. I’ve had enough.
Good hotel across from AmericasMart Building 3.More of a younger vibe hotel from Marriott. Has a bar, sitting area, pool table and breakfast bar in the lobby. Small pool located next to the street.Room was clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Coffee maker, small fridge, safe n iron board in the room. 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner provided in shower.Sink was clogged, bathroom had a moldy scent ti it and TV remote did not work to turn on TV. I reported them all on the night I arrived and unfortunately none of it was addressed during my stay. The bathroom floor was also very slippery and fell on my last night. When we checked in, the gentleman who helped us did not request any ID, Just a cc. The next morning we asked to have our breakfast added to our room and Noone asked for our names to confirm we had the correct room number.Hopefully management will be reading this and placing new safety procedures in place.
Overall the staff were doing the best they can. The rooms were dirty, the carpets were sticky and food splatter on the ceilings. We were a team of travel agents in town for a seminar and we Were highly dissatisfied with out accommodations. The bar was nice and the drinks were good.
We arrived at the hotel at 1145pm there were people before us and after us all of us were told the same thing. We have no rooms for you even though we all reserved them months in advance.. They said we could go to their sister hotel 2 blocks away and told us how to walk there. It was midnight in Atlanta none of us were walking. The hotel was dirty. The furniture was filthy and the front desk was so disgusting. The only good thing was the poor young girl working the front desk was nice and trying to help us. She got us a taxi and apologized for our inconvenience. I felt so bad for her. Who ever is managing that building needs to be replaced! As a gold member of marriott Ive never seen one of their hotels be so run down. Stay at the Marriott Marquis around the corner!
The best part was pet friendly and your front desk employee. The trash needs to be picked up in your parking g lot. TRASH CANS would be a good first start. People are not picking up after their dog. Vagrants everywhere around property. Louis guest at 2am and not very soundproof. Just ok. I have had better Marriott experiences than this place!
We stayed here for the weekend while celebrating our daughters birthday. We traveled w our dogs and it was nice to be able to stay in an upscale hotel without having to pay an exorbitant pet fee. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean, and the location was perfect for access to all of the sites in downtown. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone traveling to downtown Atlanta
Aloft Hotels are typically enjoyable for me, but this particular location was lacking. The staff were attentive and friendly, but the hotel rooms were dirty and not well maintained. The shower grout had mold and leaked, the bathroom door was extremely difficult to close and open, and the carpet was dirty. The ice maker on the floor was unplugged and in a room under construction.
The staff was less than welcoming. The guest were screaming all times of the night in the halls . 2-3 am to be exact The parking lot was full of cars clearly not patronizing customers blocking the entrance. The properly has security but no one seemed to be in control. Yet they charge 38 dollars for parking . The staff was horrible and I say this without hesitation is not up to par with any Marriott establishment. Rude, unprofessional and oh they don’t clean the rooms for Covid purposes apparently. So unless you ask and are gone 3 hours prior to staff cleaning your room will not be cleaned . Yet no one made mention of this until I inquired why hasn’t my room been serviced. When I checked in Atlanta PD was there for some trespassing issue. That probably was the clear sign what I could expect! Again worst staff I’ve encountered with the Marriott or any affiliated property.
I am a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member who has been traveling within the Marriott portfolio as an individual and with my family for 15+ years. I stayed at Aloft Atlanta Downtown from 7/9-11 and I can confidently say that it was my worst experience with Marriott EVER.On Friday evening, my party checked into the hotel and proceeded to our room. Upon entering, the room was not very clean. Dust was accumulated on various furniture pieces, debris on the walls, and streaks in the bathroom. My party left the guest room for dinner and returned around 11pm. When we came back, we put our key card up to the door and it did not light up green or red. When I came down to notify front desk/security team of this dilemma, they replied to me asking, What did you do to it? I replied saying, Nothing. We were out for dinner. The staff investigated the issue and determined that the sensor on the door was malfunctioning. The staff then proceeded to try to solve the issue by throwing his body weight into the door to try to open the room. In fact, staff actually laughed at our dilemma and jokingly said (several times) that We will probably have to sleep in the car tonight. The staff then proceeded to try to use a laptop/cord to unlock the door. Neither of these options worked. Staff then had our party wait in another guest room until the issue was resolved. We didnt get back into the room until 5am the following morning, ruining our evening plans and sleep schedules as we all had an event to attend that next morning.Anyways, we woke up the next morning and left for the event. When we returned around 4pm in the afternoon, we walked up to our guest room. Before placing my key card up to the sensor, I leaned slightly on the door and it opened. Our guest room had been unlocked the entire day. Over $10K of electronics had been exposed the entire day (two laptops, an iPad, a Sony mirrorless camera, an Xbox One, and an Xbox 360). Thankfully, nothing was stolen. But, I was absolutely horrified. I couldnt believe that staff had unlocked the room earlier that morning so we could get in at 5am, but failed to tell us that they didnt figure out how to lock it back. I went down to the front desk and notified them of this issue. They sent up a maintenance man who arrived to our guest room clearly under the influence. He told us that, He does know how to fix the issue, but hes about to get off of work, so he didnt feel like doing it. He notified the front desk that we needed a new room. The front desk granted his request and my party had to then take 6 trips to move all of our luggage, electronics, groceries, etc. to our new room. We arrived in the new room and were missing a lamp and the fridge was much smaller so we could not store all of our food. Finally, the next morning, I went to the front desk to speak with the manager on duty. I explained the problematic issues from each of our nights at the Aloft Atlanta Downtown and asked for a refund. The manager offered a refund for one night, but said thats all she could do. I was disappointed with this compensation because each night had its own separate issue that detracted from our experience on the property. To make things worse, the refund was never issued.... never hit my account. I have called Marriott several times since this stay and no one seems to be able to help me.Again, this is one of my worst travel experiences ever and Im unsure of my future with the brand.
I was told after I checked in that room service would not be a regular due to covid-19. I would have not booked knowing this. I stayed for 4 nights and didnt have any room service. I had to call for towels which took forever to reach the room. Took trash outside the room & it was out there for a long time. Had I know I wouldnt have gotten what I was used to when checking into a Hotel, I would have never checked in at the Aloft. Lets stop using Covid19 as an excuse for lack of service. Aloft prices didnt reflect the lack of service.
Rather difficult to give a balanced review of the Aloft during our visit due to Covid Craziness. The measures implemented by all the hotels at the time (Sept. 21) in Atlanta, place a crimp on hotel service and reduced the staff maintaining the hotels. Loved my Boston Aloft stay in 19 so I thought my stay here in Aloft Atlanta would go just as well (given Marriotts reputation). but with reduced service and staff I might as well stayed at a lesser hotel. So take this for what it is given the times. Hopefully the protocols will be reduced some time soon so these establishments can get back to normal.
Positive: Location Negative: My check in was scheduled for 3pm. My room was not ready until 6pm! And the only accommodations offered was a ¿discount on parking¿ when I clearly stated that I was not parking. $--- for poor service and rooms were less than average! Never agai
Staying here now. Room didn’t come with microwave or functioning fridge. Had to request a fridge but was told I need to use microwave in lobby to warm my infants bottles. Will not return for the price. Even the cheap motels come with a microwave to warm food. The parking fee is ridiculous also. Rooms look nothing like advertised.
We understand the challenges of housekeeping cycles during COVID. We knew housekeeping “norms” were adjusted due to COVID. We did not expect daily cleaning. However, we had to ask multiple times over several days for someone to empty the garbages in our room and provide fresh linens. Finally, on the day before our departure someone responded. It was the worst service and housekeeping experience in our many years of traveling.
The reason we chose this hotel was that it had a Tesla charging station. Upon arrival, we found there was 2 Tesla and 1 for normal EV charging. There was a Tesla that was done charging and there other station was available. After we tried to utilize the available unit, we found out that it did not work. We had planned our trip from FL to use that charging station as we only had 5 miles of power left. We then had to find another place to charge our car. After a few hours we came back to hotel and the Tesla was still in the same spot but the charger was unplugged. The hotel staff said the people that were using it stated that that Tesla charger did not work as well. We pulled the cord to where we were parked and found that the charger did in fact work. We went on a EV forum and saw that gusts of this hotel have been complaining since Sept 2020 that 1 of the Tesla chargers does not work. To wrap this up, staff at the hotel should have a better understanding of their EV/Tesla chargers and understand the importance of getting them fixed when they are not working. There are customers like us who travel often and are looking for amenities like this for our stay. Ariel at the front desk and another gentleman were very accommodating though however.
My lights over the beds were out and I asked several times for them to be fixed. My floor smelled strongly of weed and when we asked for towels the employees said they didn’t know if we had any. WELL CHECK. I was extremely disappointed about how much money I spent and I didn’t even enjoy the stay.DO NOT STAY HERE. The only good thing was the location. The location was in the heart of downtown Atlanta and we were a 5 minute walk away every where we went.
Ive stayed here before and each time the rooms were clean and the check-in was smooth. This recent stay was not. We waited for more than 10 minutes. We get to our room on the 10th floor and it looked like a storage room. The furniture and floor had stains. Each wood piece was chipped or scratched. Many of the lamps didnt work. The heat didnt work in the living room. The light in the bathroom was blown. My stay was very uncomfortable.
Affordable but stylish, convenient, safe. Friendly staff. Very happy that pets get to stay for free, and the hotel was still very clean. There was even a bowl of water in the front entrance of the hotel. Grassy area and private parking also a major plus. The key card thing helped me feel more secure, but I wish the back elevator worked with it as well (we didnt have access on there I guess so couldnt use it). Easier entry from the back parking lot for initial check-in would be convenient. Also, I was told the parking would be added to my room, but I ended up paying it separately, as I wouldnt have been able to leave with paying. So, some consistency there would be helpful as well. Breakfast was delicious and staff very friendly and professional. Bar could use some work, but had good hours.Bathroom was not very private. Beds were ok in comfort, but as we were leaving we saw they were bringing in new mattresses, which is good. I really liked the USB charging ports in the room. Loved the privacy tags and amenities in the room. Good WiFi. Would be nice if they offered room service or something like that.
Some of the reviews I read prior to booking were terrible but my experience was completely different. We were warmly greeted by JaQwan at the front desk as soon as we walked in. He quickly pulled up our reservation, explained the hold that would be placed on my credit card and promptly got us our keys. He explained that the bar and restaurant would be closed for the duration of our stay (2 nights) and would reopen on the day we were to check out. He did offer convenient solutions for the inconvenience. There is a liquor store within walking distance and plenty of restaurants in the area. We planned to eat outside of the hotel anyway. The room had the seal on the door letting us know that our room had been cleaned and sanitized. Once we entered it was obvious that the room was thoroughly cleaned. This is very reassuring especially during covid. We were provided useful toiletries for a very pleasant weekend stay. I would gladly recommend to anyone and I’d stay here again.
The hotel is in a very nice location , the lobby and bar area was nice but everything else a no .. when I first pulled up to the hotel , a woman was acting like valet and the hotel doesn’t have valet so be careful ! The room didn’t have a lot of towels , no microwave , door was hard to open in the bathroom , no trash or ice bags , majority of the outlets didn’t work in the room and no one came to clean the room ! Definitely overpriced , I asked for the government rate since I’m in the military and it was more than the regular rate which was confusing to me. Maybe someone else may have a different experience than me but it’s a no for me next time I travel to Atlanta .
I would say the over all view is amazing. Only problem is some of the units had some issues with them. But I will say after speaking to Ms. Emma she made sure her staff handled my concerns. I had over fourteen rooms reserved for a business expo so I needed to make sure my vendors was well taking care of. They did just that...
I stayed here over the weekend. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable, however, they spray some sort of smell in the halls and room through the vents. I suffer from an allergy of any artificial smells which cause a severe migraine. All night long I could smell something that could be described as a dryer sheet. This caused a bad migraine for my whole weekend. Then around 2am people in the hall were loud and fighting until about 5am. No one came to quiet them after repeated calls to the front desk. I would not recommend this hotel if you wish for peace and quiet or if you wish to not smell dryer sheets the whole time.
The room was very musky smelling, & could have used a better clean. The carpet needs replaced. The place was extremely loud with people yelling & kids running around the halls all hours of the night. Other than that it was centrally located and where we needed to be. I don’t know that we will stay here again though.
The rooms were dated and dirty. The bathroom ceiling was covered in mold. Pool filter needed to be turned on-lots of stuff floating-absolutely would not let family go swimming. We book Marriott with the assumption of some level of standard - totally lacking at this hotel.
It was a wonderful stay and I really enjoyed myself with my boyfriend . I wish we could have tried the food but we ordered out and we didnt get to go downstairs and enjoy the lounge and bar due to just enjoying the room. But nexts time we will venture out to the other places in the hotel . And its near everything downtown .
The hotel was extremely busy. We understand that may have been stressful for the staff but they were not kind to us and very rude. The front office manager was not considerate and our vanity light was out for our stay. I was unable to get ready because the only mirrors were in the bathroom. The maintenance man was unable to fix the light because he said the actual fixture needed to be replaced. All in all it was not a pleasant experience. The hotel staff needs more training.
This was an average hotel experience for me. The Aloft in Greenville, SC (only other Aloft I’ve stayed at) was a much better experience. The staff at the Atlanta location were incredibly mediocre, particularly the woman who checked us out the morning of Sunday, January 3rd. She didn’t thank us for our stay or honestly really even say anything for that matter. I did most of the talking, which is a huge turn-off for me when it comes to hotels/tourism/hospitality. I’ve had better experiences at the AC Marriott in Buckhead than this hotel.
Staff was hardly wearing masks, shower was molded, guests were extremely loud and coming home drunk at 4 and 5 am. You definitely get what you pay for. BUT! The dog friendly aspect makes the stay more pleasurable. We had our two dogs with us and it was so easy having them there.
The shower took 4 minutes to get hot, but we didnt figure that out for a while. They dont clean your room unless you ask, but they didnt tell us that when we checked in. So then I did request a cleaning for the next day, but they didnt do it. The elevator was dank.... The lobby was nice. The room was falling apart.
Arrived after a 6 hour drive to be told that all the rooms had been booked despite having made a reservation days prior. The staff was unapologetic about this. Told me they would pay for one night at the Sheraton despite the fact that I booked two nights. After I pointed out that if Id intended to stay at a different hotel each night I wouldve booked two different hotels initially and that I was traveling with my dog and would expect them to cover whatever pet fees Sheraton charged, a room was suddenly available. No apologies for the stress. I requested discounted parking due to the hassle and was given a hard time. Staff stated they could only offer 50% off and that was the best he could do. Felt that staff should have been more hospitable and accommodating considering I was being inconvenienced due to their error.
I wished I had read these reviews before I booked at this hotel. I had similar issues as reviews posted only a few weeks ago indicating the Aloft hasnt made great progress in addressing customer complaints. I had one good front desk staff and one that was totally rude. There appears to be a glitch in the system: while I booked for one night, the hotel charged me for two. When I pointed out the issue and provided the email listing the reservation issued via Marriott.com, the rude woman at the front desk insisted that I was supposed to stay two nights. The incidentals for two nights were charged upfront also so when I checked out I left with a $394.50 bill for a one night stay that should have cost $137.10. Worse, Im not sure that Ill be recompensed for the extra night that I didnt book without legal action. The room was clean although the air conditioner didnt cool the room down until I was ready to leave. Parking was free though getting out of the parking lot was a chore. There is no ticket to leave so I had to wait until an attendant showed up to be able to leave the hotel. My experience would have been closer to a 4 despite the hiccups if the front desk understood what customer service is and I believe they know they need to replace the young woman at the front desk.
The stay here was rough. From a rude front desk clerk to very poorly maintained rooms (bathroom mirror was broken completely in half, bedside table broken and slanted downward, no hot water the first night, urine stains on the bathroom wall…), I unfortunately do not recommend this property.
I had to park my truck and trailer here in their gated parking lot while staying overnight at the Hotel Indigo. It was $32 for a full day (from Thursday around 2pm to Friday around 10am). It was a lifesaver because Hotel Indigo only provides valet parking for a single vehicle and not a Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew Cab 4x4 pulling a trailer.
The hotel was not clean, ridiculously loud all night, and smelled like weed and smoke. We did pick a bad weekend as there were multiple events happening that weekend, but the hotel staff made no effort to maintain the parties that were going on in the hallways until well past 3am. Overall terrible experience and will not be returning. Was close to the aquarium which was a plus... I guess.
So far not impressed. I travel so much I never know what time I’m going to arrive. I normally book the aloft brand and am a regular a several slots in the country. I have a short two layover in Atlanta and both ones this place. I called and requested an early 1 30om check in as a Gold member. I was told check in is at 3 pm. So this is my first review I’ll update after I check in and have my stay to see if they’re worthy of the praise I have for other Aloft hotels .
Positive: The hotel is walking distance within tourist attractions Negative: There was trash on the ground outside of the hotel entrance. The hotel and rooms are dark and gloomy. The room assigned did not have a door to the toilet and shower, for privacy(the toilet and shower is at the opening of the door to the room.)
Great staff, but rooms were in disrepair (booked 3 rooms and all 3 had something broken) and dirty. Scary, especially during the 4th wave of a pandemic. My son walked around barefooted for a couple hours in the room and his feet looked like he just came out of a coal mine (the picture is the towel I used to clean his feet). Mold in the shower grout, greasy finger prints on the shower head..thankfully the beds were clean. From what I can gather, their target market is young partiers, because the rooms are the size of a non-balcony stateroom on a cruise ship and youd have to be drunk to overlook a tiny, broken, dirty hotel room.
Inconvenient and not completely comfortable stay. Was not informed prior to check in that our rooms would not be cleaned during our stay.No asistamce when Items were needed to be replaced such as towels and tissue without lhysically going to front desk.Daily parking fee was overpriced especially because it was not in a garage amd uncovered. Did not feel welcomed at hotel.
This hotel has turned into a party spot with VERY loud clientele partying until 5am. If you need a place to rest after a hard day at work, this is not the place for you. Also the staff looks and acts like they are part of the party. I was checked in by a person that I didn’t even think worked there. No uniforms, no greeting and didn’t even check my ID.
This was the absolutely worst experience I have ever had with lodging. When we arrived, our rooms were not fully clean -No towels and shelves were broken. It was late, so we decided to move forward with our stay. The next morning, we were awaken by arguing in the hallway. This argument turned into a brawl right in front of our door. People were screaming “don’t kill him” etc.. so of course we were afraid for our lives. We laid on the dirty floor for approximately 10mins while the fight went on. I have never felt more fearful for my life. We called 911 and attempted to call front desk to no avail. We flew from Ohio to Georgia on a girls trip, and this was our first day experience. Would never recommend an Aloft to anyone. When we checked out the next day, the front desk receptionist showed no empathy for what had just experienced. We will be elevating our concerns to corporate!
No hospitality at all, I’m usually chill and brush it off but man these front desk people were just really rude. Half of the lights didn’t work in our room and neither did the hair dryer. Also, there’s safes in every room but not a microwave? I do not recommend this hotel at all, it just feels uncomfortable.
As stated in opening very disappointed planning our trip to meet friends for dinner rooms not available several people waiting in the lobby did not get into our room until 5 PM clearly my reservation say check-in is at 3 PM so we made arrangements to arrive around that time which was 4 PM one hour after reservation site check-in I am told sorry no rooms are available we had a busy checkout time poor excuse as I was looking forward to staying at Aloft at sun trust park in May this has changed my mind. Good luck to you all
The security inside and outside this hotel is horrible. My fiances truck got broken into. The passenger window was smashed and the rear passenger window was smashed as well. We also had valuable things stolen from us. They have a security gate which was also broken as well. We asked to see the security videos that were recorded from the cameras outside and we werent granted access which is understandable. The hotel room was disgusting. The wall had hair on it and the showers did too from previous guests. The sheets were also dirty and had hair on them too. If you dont want a dirty room, your windows to your car smashed or broken into do not go here !! Worst hotel.
It was not a good stay at all. The outside premises were dirty along with the inside. The customer service was slow checking in. The room was small and damaged. I booked a king bed room got a double because they were sold out of kings for the weekend but i didnt find that out until i unlocked my room door. I will not be back to this aloft downtown Atlanta
I guess I expected more from the initial description. The beds were uncomfortable (even though they said they were queen they in fact were just full size.). The reception desk was rude (didn’t like me asking questions) and the food was overpriced. The cost of parking at the total was too high in my opinion. Especially on top of all the taxes and extra charges.
The hotel is in a very nice location , the lobby and bar area was nice but everything else a no .. first when I first pulled up to the hotel , a woman was acting valet and the hotel doesn’t have valet so be careful ! The room didn’t have a lot of towels , no microwave , door was hard to open in the bathroom , no trash or ice bags , and no one came to clean the room ! Definitely the overpriced , I asked for the government rate since I’m in the military and it was more than the regular rate which was confusing to me. Maybe someone else may have a different experience than me but it’s a no for me next time I travel to Atlanta .
I have stayed at many Aloft hotels all over the country. I cannot fathom how this hotel has a four star review. We live in Atlanta & stayed here for reasonably priced staycation. It was a mistake. This particular location is hands down the worst experience Ive had in Aloft or any other hotel that I can remember. The front desk staff seem to have no understand of customer service. Why is it $30 a night to park in a lot? The room was comfortable and clean however the hotel itself feels dirty and dingy. I agree with another reviewer that felt like it was a hang for locals to have fun...not desirable. There are a few liquor stores on the street with constant activity & people hanging around. There are plenty of better hotels even at this price point in slightly different locations.
This was my first time at an Aloft hotel. The staff was amazing! They were so polite and so helpful and everyone I saw said hello. Great hiring job!I got to the room and it was clean and neat. However, there were these huge black stains on the floor. I dont expect it to be perfect but I do expect better than this. Loved the bath products and kudos for not using all travel size containers. Having dispensers was so much nicer. The pillows were great but the bed was really hard. They have a continental breakfast that had pre-wrapped pastries/bagels, waffles, and coffee/juice. I dont mind pre-wrapped pastries but please make sure they are fresh.Im not sure I would recommend this hotel since there are some really nice ones at the same price point in the area.
The vibe of the entire place is very welcoming to me. I really appreciate the friendliness of the staff that are there. If you visit, definitely check out the bar wxyz...it was a natural vibe. The only negative thing i would say about this place is the gaming area needs to be resupplied. There was an old raggedy chessboard missing components. I mean at least get a tournament style board, it’s like $18 on Amazon. And put a tv in the area. Simply adjustments will increase the potential of this area. Also, they don’t clean and replace items in your room any longer. Big bummer but, i think it’s due to COVID-19. If you’re not gonna clean the rooms, leave some new cloths on the door just in case.
Clean, quiet room and comfortable bed. Staff is generally polite and helpful. Good location for tourists. Some maintenance issues came up during my visit - both elevators out of order for 30 minutes, bathroom light wouldnt turn on. But I was traveling alone and managed... Hence 4*. Had I been with my wife and kid, it would be another story.
There was a lot of riff raff in the hotel. The walls were thin and our neighbors were arguing loudly. We heard every word. Every time we left the room we could smell weed. We could smell one of our neighbors smoking through the vent. Our AC stopped working. We asked for someone to check it out but it wasnt fixed. We were too tired to even ask for a new room and pack up and move. Definitely would not stay there again. Also, the bathroom was terribly small. Ugh.
Definitely the worst aloft Ive ever stayed at, pics very misleading. Pics on the website show a pool on the rooftop, theres no roof top and its a baby pool. Rooms modest, it feels like a old hotel they mave have turned into a aloft. When I come to Atlanta I want be staying at aloft.
My family and I enjoyed our stay. The outside and pool area was fun. Clean room second shift service and security and second shift laundry was very nice. First shift is very rude one light skin lady at desk is very rude. They did not have free breakfast which wasnt cool because online it said free breakfast and room is at over 100.00. Another thing We didnt like was 30.00 parking they should have free parking for customers
Hotel had flooding. Noisy, loud fans where on our floor to dry the carpet. Noise was annoying all night and day. We asked to be moved. That never happened. At 8:50 P.M. the second night, the front desk said we could move. So disappointed. Also, there was a constant smell of marijuana in the hallway. We should have never been put on the floor that had a fire and flooding. Awful. 😕
My stay here last weekend was perfect. Check in was pretty quick and the room was clean. Breakfast options could be better. Parking was high as usual. As a Platinum member, my King bedroom wasnt going to be ready until 4pm which is out of the norm. I was looking forward to a bigger bed but I has my puppy with me so I took what they had at the time.
Staff was great, however there was only one elevator working, and it was a nightmare trying to get to and fro. Stayed with my dog, room wasn’t the cleanest. There was still hair in my bed and all over my towels, not sure if they were washed or not. Updates to the rooms were decent, not like other Alofts. The toilet roll holder was hanging on the wall with one screw, not sure if the carpets were thoroughly cleaned since my dog went around sniffing it for most of his stay. (I travel a lot with my dog, and aloft is my go to choice to stay- and he’s never been bothered by the floor as much as he was this time).Over all decent experience.
Staff was great room was great. On probably one of the busiest weekends of the year they let us check in early. Keisha saw that we had our dog with us and couldn’t just leave him until we could check in and was able to get a room ready for us quickly so that we could get our dog settled before heading out on the town. Rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff was also incredibly friendly. Dorthy the bar tender was great. Even the valet staff made our experience as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely stay here again.
I would not stay here again. Please do your research and book elsewhere. Only booked here for last minute and one night stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. But lets get down to details. We stayed on the 6th floor 2 queen bed suite. The hall on our floor seemed like a sauna as soon as you stepped out of the elevator. Cleanliness a 2/10 only pro (no bed bugs) room smelled very musty and felt very humid I had to turn the a/c to 55 in order for it to be cool by the time we got back. On top of that they make you pay $35 extra for overnight parking in the hotel parking lot (one night only) so not only do you pay for the room but you pay for overnight parking as well, $15-$20 wouldve been understandable but $35!!!!!! This hotel poorly represents ALOFT HOTELS in the wrong way, its very run down and poorly managed hotel almost only for the locals after a night out of drinking. If youre visiting out of town please do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere where you can save your money
Loved this hotel! Every single staff member that we came in contact with was just a friendly and helpful as they could be! I loved all the artwork in the lounge area with the pool table. And the lounge area next to the bar had a huge flat screen on the wall with other guests comfortably watching a game. We sit in the outside area for a little while and enjoyed the company of other guests just hanging out. Theres another flat screen outside as well! The pool area looked nice too, but it was a little too chilly for that this time...would be awesome in the summertime! Great views of the downtown buildings from your room and the ends of the hallways! Also, this hotel is pet friendly for those that need it! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone!
The hotel and room were clean and quiet. The room was great except I dislike the sliding barn door style entrance to the toilet area. Good location for my needs. Everything was going smoothly until 1 am when an alarm went off telling me to evacuate the hotel immediately. Once outside the hotel on a cold and rainy night I discovered I was the only one out there and that it was a false alarm. Fire trucks came though... good for them. Overall a good stay but not a restful night.
The lack of responsiveness to my issue was appalling. There was a burn in one of my bed spreads, toilet paper ran out. I called, I walked down. WHY! Ive stayed in many Aloft properties never have I ever. I understand things happen. Its the response to the customer that can make or break their view. In this case 0 out of ten stars. I will not return to this property. The staffs response could have fixed all of this.
Very courteous front desk staff, the manager Lakeisha gives you a wonderful customer experience. I checked in with her and had no complaints what so ever. She have a wonderful staff. Her associate Shirel was super nice to. I had no issues with them why so ever. If you are looking for a world class customer service experience. The Aloft will definitely be your go to hotel. Also everything so close and convenient.
We are not in the younger trendy target demographic ---yet we enjoyed our stay.Clean comfortable room with a great view of the skyline, quiet, and great parking.Excellent location for access to great dining and entertainment. We brought our own Keurig -since no in room coffee. The lighting could be better. I did not like the proximity of the sliding door to the toilet/shower so close to the hall entry door.
The staff could not have been nicer. The lobby offers free board games and a free pool table making a fun spot to share with my son while we werent seeing the sites - all of which were within walking distance of our hotel! I booked it because of the pool and the outdoor patio complete with TV and more games was a welcome surprise. Everything was clean and the eclectic decorating was fun!
The stay was mediocre. Our first room had a terrible musty odor which thankfully was corrected by having us moved. Trying to reach the front desk from the phone for more towels was impossible. Each day we had to make multiple trips to the front desk to ask for more towels as we had 4 guest in our room and only accommodations for 2 people. I say we made multiple trips because we would go ask, and an hour or 2 later, still no towels. On our last night, after a very long and tiring day, we got back to our room to find it had not been serviced. Beds were unmade, towels from that morning still in a pile in the restroom. I had left a note on the door earlier that day asking for extra towels and I guess this was confused with do not disturb because not even the extra towels were left. I am very disappointed at the price we paid, including parking, for the less than average quality experience. Only positive thing that happened was that the gentlemen at the front desk had good restaurant suggestions. We would rate our stay a 4 out of 10. We will not be reusing Aloft hotels.
Due to the hotels excellent location, it is a great choice. There are many interesting places and AWESOME restaurants nearby. Shopping is also very convenient. But I was disappointed that there was no bottled water provided in the room, I still have a hard time with drinking tap water.
A pandemic should not be used as an excuse for not cleaning up a specific mess upon request. I even asked to use the vacuum myself to clean up potato chips that were spilled. This is by far the worse housekeeping Ive ever experienced. Hanging new linen outside the room in the door know. They could have at least opened the door and put it in the room. Was it the pandemic or just being lazy
STAY AWAY!!! We are currently staying here and the clientele is TRASHY. Screaming and carrying on in the hallways. People unmasked in the corridors and elevators. When you try to ask someone to keep it down, you get threatened by said trash and management doesnt seem to really care. Add to that the rooms are very dim and have a flashing alarm that made it difficult to sleep. You cant turn on the bathroom light without turning on the light in the other room and disturbing the other guest, and they charge guests $30 a night to park. Oh, and we went for a walk in the area right outside the hotel and a homeless person felt free to touch me. If this is what Atlanta has to offer, will never visit again!
Ive been more comfortable in a motel 6 with a bureau for my clothes. No restaurant on property only a kitchen with an extremely limited menu for prepaid breakfast, though had been told that the hotel had a sit down restaurant at booking. Otherwise, a bed is a bed, centrally located close to my venue, but next time Ill know what Ill be getting and choose accordingly.
All of the staff here was so friendly, especially the AMAZING manager Yannick who really made our stay as amazing as it was. We were visiting Atlanta for the first time and had a bad experience at another local hotel (not a Starwoods hotel) and he really he really changed our whole trip around with the way he greeted us upon arrival and worked with us our whole trip. His personality is infectious and his smile and caring nature can turn your whole bad day around. Another shout to to our AWESOME bartender. She was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor and personality. Always willing to add to a conversation, give suggestions on local things to do, and has a wonderful memory for her guests and their drink preferences. The location of this hotel is spectacular was spectacular and every thing is kept very clean. The pool was always great and the outside was fabulous. The valets always smiled to greet us upon arrival regardless of whether we used their services or not. I used the gym once and enjoyed the equipment options, cleanliness, complimentary water, and complimentary towels. The ONLY negative that I have about this hotel is the housekeeping staff with cleaning our room. It is the only time ever that I have never tipped my housekeepers upon leaving a hotel. They actually cleaned our room (make our bed, wipe the sink area, take our trash out, ext.) ONCE during the entire week we were there. We frequently had to go to the front desk to have them remind the housekeeping staff to switch out our towels for clean ones. After consecutive 3 days of this we stopped asking. We also had to ask for a waste basket in the bathroom. We had only 1 waste basket near a desk and none of the baskets had liners/bags in the them which can get quite gross. So my one complaint would be that housekeeping truly failed during our stay. This is the only reason that this hotel did not get a full 5 star rating.
You cannot beat the price for quality and service.I had visited and an Aloft before in Montreal, Quebec. I did not know that this is where we will be staying until my wife had told me when she made the reservation.I have read some reviews for this particular Aloft that service could be rude. My family and I did not experience this at all. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My opinion is you cannot beat this price for this stay. The grounds were clean, the room was spotless, the beds slept great. We also felt very safe. You had to have a room key to gain access onto the grounds and to utilize the elevators. The parking area was surrounded by a fence. For the price you cant beat it and I dont think you will be unsatisfied. This hotel is just a walk from the Georgia Acquarium.
As my family and I entered the hotel we were greeted by an awesome staff. Smiling faces with warm greetings made us feel right at home. Ashley at guest services welcomed us to the Aloft hotel and answered all of our questions making our decision to stay easy and inviting. She and Darryl were very attentive to our needs they were amazing. Other staff members were so willing to assist promptly with our request. The general manager was the greatest GM I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I had an unpleasurable personal business matter and he went above and beyond to assist me helping utilize the business center. The hotel was beautiful and classy in a great setting, it met and exceeded our needs and expectations from the entrance to the exit and everything in between. The food needs some improvement, but we were told that the kitchen size did not afford the quality/type of food that we expected at the time, however I am sure that will be coming soon. Overall the amazing customer service and hotel accommodations WOWED us. Ashely and Darryl at guest services and the GM created Raving Fans at the Aloft Atlanta Downtown location. I/We look forward to furture visits at this establishment.
We stayed here for 2 nights the first weekend in October and really enjoyed it. They seem to be in the middle of renovating some outdated decor but everything else was great. The staff at the front desk were always saying hello as we walked by and offering us water. The room was clean (if a bit outdated) and had everything we needed. We were pretty so we didn’t have a chance to check out the lobby too much but they looked to have a pool table and other things to keep folks entertained during their stay. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.
The room looked a bit beaten down...scratched paints on wall, lack of attention to detail in construction detail for example the moulding did. It didnt closed properly leaving cement on tiles exposed ..I stayed in Aloft in various places but this one looked like a college dorm.
I stayed here during a business trip to Atlanta, and it was comfortable and pleasant. I checked in with a friendly person, and my room was what I would expect it to be. The view was quite good too, although I just had two small windows. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows, and the shower was good too and had enough pressure. My alarm clock didnt work though, and the front desk set up a morning call for me as a result. It was a good stay, and the location is on the outskirts of downtown but still close enough to walk to places. Parking is charged outside the room fee, and its $32 a day. Not a bad place to stay though!
This hotel is very hip and fun. They have their own bar and in the lobby they have a pool table available to guests to play. The entire lobby is set up like a giant, comfortable, yet very stylish living room. Its very inviting. The food looked delicious, but we didnt order because the prices were just too high. The rooms appeared to be newly modeled. They were quiet and comfortable. Of course the beds and pillows were plush and comfy. The shower was soothing. It was in the heart of the city si the were plenty of places to walk to too east or have fun.
I only stayed one night but I have to take a minute to to express how I appreciated the level of professionalism at check in by Ms Dominique at the front desk it’s was very busy and she handled it like a true pro.... also I have to mention Aerial as well the next morning when my flight was delayed helping me figure out solutions and accommodating me situation great job ladies and your efforts are/were greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
We stayed here on a girls trip, slept all in the same room. The rooms wasnt what we expected. Security was not doing a great job , a man had followed us to our room. Food and bar looked great. But when check out time came, My friend debit card got charged twice for some odd reason at the front desk..... Great location though and swimming pool.
Overall the room was fantastic, staff was very friendly and the location was perfect. The main issue that we had was the fact that we chose this hotel because of location and breakfast included. I was told breakfast was from 7 to 11 am daily, but they failed to tell me its only complimentary from 7 to 9 am. That detail wouldve been nice to know before my wife and I decided to sleep in on our vacation.
I typically stay at an Aloft property if there is one close to my appointments. I really enjoy the layout of the rooms, the quick and friendly service, and of course the cost.My check-in was quick and the person at the front desk was very friendly. The room was nice though I did leave feedback that the lighting around the desk could be better. I found it too dark when working on my computer, especially when participating in video conferences. The location is great as I was within walking distance of decent places to eat as well as to my appointment.
The people that work here are great, thats the only reason it gets 3 stars. Artwork is wonderful, probably a nice place for young adults. It is not kid friendly, the pool is awful, located near the bar with people smoking constantly. Room also smelled like smoke, and the mini fridge was in the bathroom. Will not be back.
Pros: JaQwan!! When I walked in he promptly greeted me and started the check in process. He made my check in experience very easy, not to mention how kind he was/is. I requested a high floor, and he delivered and even placed me at the end of the hall. Thank you! When it comes time for this young man to get a raise, I hope it’s a hefty one. The rooms are very spacious.Cons: when I enetered my room, there was a single crack/break in the bathroom mirror from top to bottom. My phone in the room only worked on speaker. The channels could have been better. The room artwork/paint was kind of depressing. The shower door didn’t close all the way. And there was hair in the sink.I didn’t ask to move because of how late I’d checked in and JaQwan had already helped me so much I didn’t want to worry him lol. I work in hospitality... I understand lol. I would recommend this property to someone who’s on layover from a flight.
It is obvious that the hotel is new and has not workedout the kinks. Many of the staff appear very inexperienced and unsure of how to answer questions. The food area is extremely disappointing and ridiculously priced for what little was offered. The hallways are too dark and with an inexperienced young employee staff did not provide a feeling of being safe.Housekeeping never left coffee in the room or creamer.I attend many markets and truthfully would not want to stay in the hotel again--especially at the price I had to pay.The only positive was Taryn who tended bar and who was extremely professional. The owners of the showrooms at the mart asked me about my experience and I said it was really disappointing. Not having a restaurant is a bummer and thefood area if you can call it that is so confusing-no one knew whether or not you had to pay for the coffee--I was hungry at the end of a day and ended up having a cup of cereal and had to purchase a large amount of milk in order to eat it--really?The next morning there was no milk. Also, one of the most important issues-which was taken care of--I was assigned to Room 204 which overlooks the parking area as well as the side walk. There is absolutely no privacy as the entire world can look in on you and the room is so dark--my suggestion is thatyou have some kind of blind that can be opened at thetop to let light in without compromising your privacy.I asked to have my room changed which was taken care of immediately--there is no way anyone can stay in 204.
Had a very great time spending the holidays with the wonderful personnel at the place. The hotel was excellently clean, fun and the very friendly staff were great specifically Ariel at the front desk. She was immediately warm and smiling and connected with our family. In the morning Geraldine welcomed us with the same friendly energy. Solomon and Josh took very good care of our car and each remembering my name makes me want to give my business even more. I have only great things to say about this place and wherever we travel to Atlanta we will stay here!

2022-03-14Disappointing as part of the Marriott chain. From the photos we were expecting better. It was decent for a two night stay and that’s it. Location was convenient. Staff was very nice. The rooms need a great deal of attention. Renovations/updates of some sort. The refrigerator was in the bathroom. Room lighting was horrible. The rooms are so dark because there is not enough lighting in the rooms. They only do housekeeping for a 4 night minimum stay; housekeeping isn’t available at your request. We did request fresh new linen and towels, never received it. The rooms do not have microwaves, which wasn’t too surprising because most hotels don’t have microwaves. BUT the kicker is that the hotel did not even have a microwave in the lobby for guest use. Overall I will not stay here again.

2022-06-03Recently stayed here. I have to say for the price, I was disappointed. The pool was closed, the machine in laundry was out of order for laundry supplies and over all the just a mediocre stay. With kids, I had planned to use the pool to help keep them entertained during our stay so this was a major let down. Had we known at booking, I would have chosen a different hotel in the area.I will say the staff at the front desk were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Our first room we were given smelled horrible. Like someone smoked and never cracked a window and it saturated the room for a week. The staff were quick to get us a new room and the new one was clean and smelled good. The layout of our room was weird. The fridge was under the bathroom sink that was open to the room while the toilet & shower had a weird pocket door that struggled to stay closed.Previous to our stay, I read that parking was $30. I can confirm that if you can not find parking on the side of the building and need to park on the back lot, it is at a cost of $32 per day. The credit card machine is currently out of order so you will need to have cash or use the ATM in the lobby.Overall, I would not stay here again.

2022-06-28Please don’t believe the bad reviews! My grandson and I stayed there for 3 nights and we enjoyed every moment! The pool is currently being updated to be able to accommodate handicap accessible, I think that’s wonderful and very important. This place is amazing, the staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. My room was amazing, I truly enjoyed my view at night watching the city lights and early morning watching the sun ☀️ rising. The Bartender was amazing, they had a nice choices of beverages! I loved the location and you can walk to the park or near by restaurants. For many years I would only stay at The Westin downtown, but the location has become very busy and noisy. If you are looking for a clean quiet location, Aloft Downtown Atlanta is the place to stay! I’m planning my next weekend get away there soon!

2022-06-22This hotel is in the ideal location, with easy walking to World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, and other area attractions. The lobby and bar area was inviting and the live music Friday night was a nice touch. The front staff made this visit special. They took care of us from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Asked about our pup, recommended places to see, and set us up with a view of the city. Kudos to Nahvah! She was great!

2022-04-26While staying in Atlanta, I stayed at the Aloft downtown. The hotel had great service at the desk, however the pool was closed and the item in their mini cafe were quite expensive. They did have a nice billiards in the lobby. The lobby did feel very urban with the large concrete pillars, it felt like a furnished parking garage, in the positive way possible. If there were a bathroom fan or a pool the rating would be higher. I did enjoy my stay at the Aloft however I did not feel my stay held up to the price.

2022-01-07Room was clean, bathroom/shower could’ve been cleaner. I stayed two nights and it was just little things that added up to (IMO) added up to make this hotel not worth the price. A crazy lady was yelling at people in the parking lot and I reported it to the security guard and they knew the lady, she apparently makes numerous appearances but it’s unsettling for guests. Parking lot didn’t seem very secure but it’s downtown so hard to expect too much but the nightly parking price, I would’ve expected a little more security. All in all not bad but there are others in the area I’ve been more impressed with for the money.

2022-03-21Positive: I definitely like the location it was a straight shot to the Atlanta aquarium it was also close to Centennial Park and various restaurants and services. Also the staff was very nice and accommodating always very polite and willing to help. Negative: The cost of daily parkings on hotel property was shocking and I wish I would¿ve read a little bit more in the hotel description to prepare for it. Also I wish that there was a light in the shower and not just over the toilet in my hotel room.

2022-02-25We were told multiple times our wheelchair accessible room with a roll in shower did not exist at this hotel. Finally they fixed problem and found one (with no explanation). Reasonable prices, easy parking, close to many attractions.

2022-07-09Have stayed here in the past with no issues traveling with my small dog. At front desk upon check-in was told 75$ pet fee charge than 50$? Been long time Marriott member ( Titanium Elite) but not offered any points or breakfast and arrive to our room with a broken mirror. Good thing just passing through, will never stay here again.

2022-02-13Not impressed and I am a Marriot gold member. Sinks clogged, walls dirty. Breakfast service was a disaster. I paid for breakfast for 2, I was given a card for a total of $10 total. Breakfast sandwich costs $6 a piece. After I complained I received 2 sandwiches. I was told a beverage would cost extra. Really! I paid an extra $20 for the room to have breakfast included. Needless to say I wont be staying at this location again. Do better Aloft.
