Clean, quiet, & comfortable RV park. Large, pull-thru sites. Clean restrooms, laundry, & work-out area. Free golf, disc golf, & foot-golf during your visit. Small playground & dog park area. Catch & release fishing. Paddle boats & horse shoes. All around a wonderful experience very close to Plains, Americus, & dont miss the Rural Georgia Telephone Museum in Leslie; a great little treasure! Well definitely be back if were ever in the area again.
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, bathrooms were spotless. The office has games available for a rainy day, paddle boats if its pretty and activity like disc golf, foot golf, and the real thing. We had a great time relaxing. The park is quiet too, perfect for relaxing. Well definitely come back.
Sharon and her husband were great! This place is a tranquil gem. I was wondering how it was going to turn out driving here, but we were pleasantly surprised. Its nestled between a couple small ponds and trees with a disk gold course and an 18 hole golf course too. Quiet and welcoming place to stay. Great way to end our vacation. All pull through spots with full hookups. Limited shade, but the tranquility makes up for it.
Omg my family had such a great time here! This was my first time glamping with my husband and we really have nothing to complain about other than the gnats, those things are immune to sprays and candle lol. Real southern hospitality. All the folk we interacted with were very nice people. The facilities are very nice too. And the city of Americus isnt too far of a drive either with Walmart being about 9 miles to the west of the campground. We also enjoyed some nearby museums while we were here. Thank you guys for such a great experience!
Being a inside gal use to motels and air B &Bs the past 2 years I had many doubts when my hubby bought a pull behind camper to take to georgia for his work with a state wide power company. We turn in at the koa sign immediately met by the camp host michelle, who was definetly a ray of sunshine, she must have felt my gloomy mood bc she took time to explain the works of the campground and we shared similar experiences in no time she had me very at ease and glad to be here. The laundry room is fantastic! Clean and up to date appliances. The showers and bathroom area I gotta say you could eat off the floor! Immaculate! The last time I used a shower that clean was a 165$ at the Hyatt in Denvers Colorado! The grounds are flat and grassy areas to park. My hubby cut his own boards in squares to put under the legs of the camper as not to make holes or make ruts on the property. Plenty of space in between campsites. I was glad bc my little 5 pound service dog failed in barking class! They have activities here like Golf and frisbee golf. A beautiful area to walk and take time for family. The television watching was nonexistent but were music lovers, its a great deal for power, water, and sewer plus an exercise room thats open 24 hrs! Great equipment a clean area. Its peaceful and well cared for. Thank you michelle for being so understanding and giving a shoulder to lean on. I am very thankful the good lord put you and chris in our path. Thank you for being you. This place is too good to keep secret! Im anxious to get on the CB radio and tell anybody who listens what a gem koa in americus is.
It was a clean well kept park. The disc golf was fun. Im not a big fan of the parking lot style campground, which this is, but considering the lots were still pretty large. One big turn off was the lack of care for social distancing from the staff. When we arrived we were met at the gate by one of the hosts in a golf cart. We followed him to our site and his wife showed up moments later in another golf cart and asked one of us to get in to go to the office to sign the credit card receipt. She didnt have a mask or gloves on and I didnt know what to say so I got in. To be fair, I could have stepped up for myself then and refused telling her that I would rather walk, but it happened so fast. After I got in the back seat of the cart, she said that we were going to swing by another site to pick up the people who arrived immediately after us. So now we have another person in the cart without a mask. The whole thing made me very uncomfortable. The state parks do contactless check-in, they had our credit card info, there was no reason that KOA couldnt as well. Do they not understand that we are in the middle of a world wide pandemic that has killed 80,000 Americans so far!
Awesome! I cant say enough good things about koalas journey campground. Just as my wife had gotten surgery to remove cancerous tumors my work orders sent us in this direction. In search of a area to park our camper where my wife had access to utilities and bathroom facilities I knew within 10 minutes of being met at the entrance to the sites I had found the perfect spot. The very nice and knowledgeable young lady manager was so helpful I feel like she went above and beyond her duties.i had forgotten to stop and fill my propne tanks not realizing I was a bit away from the nearest propane dealer, this young lady allowed me the use of her extra tank only asking me to refill when I brought it back! How many people would have done that? NOONE BUT THIS BEAUTIFUL PERSON! The next day we met the general manager and secured payment for the days we would reside her at Kia journey campground. Theres a dog park for our service dog, a playground for kids, different types of golf for those that play. Wifi, THE CLEANEST NICEST SHOWERS IVE SEEN IN OVER 15 DIFFERENT STATES! PLENTY OF HOT WATER! THE LAUNDRY AREA IS JUST LIKE BEING HOME! spacious areas so your not on top of each other, clean well cared for la landscaping. My line of work as a foreman for a powerline construction company has me working odd hours sometimes and has taken me to places all over the USA. I speak for myself and my wife when I say HOW THANKFUL WE ARE AND BLESSED TO HAVE FOUND THIS PART OF GEORGIA AND THIS JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED SLICE OF HEAVEN! A BIG THANK YOU TO THE YOUNG LADY WHO PUTS HER HEART INTO HER CLIENTS THAT COME HERE. YOU ARE A GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. AND KOA IS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU AND SO ARE WE! .....WE HAVENT LEFT THE PARK YET AND JUST MAY STAY UNTIL MY WORK SAYS OTHER WISE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RV PARK AND CAMPGROUND. NUMBER 1 IN OUR BOOK AND WILL CONTINUE TO RETURN WHEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY.
I have camped all over the country and this campground, by far, had the friendliest staff bar none. The grounds were kept emasculate, the bathroom/showers were so clean and the amenities were of plenty. KOA Americus is a great location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough to make it a base camp for other area attractions with in an hour and a half. ie Providence Canyon and Georgia Veterans Park! Both of the aforementioned will not leave you disappoint in the least. Once again, I have to thank the whole staff for making my daughter and I feel like part of the family and make out time at the campgrounds memorable. Thank you!
Didnt have a reservation, so were glad to find such a nice place. Sharon in the office was wonderful, and we took home 5 lbs. of GA pecans. Was able to walk on the golf course until the storm clouds rolled in - facilities were clean and service excellent, including a personal guide to our site. Very good experience!
Stayed for a few days to see the National Park at Andersonville, was a great place, very clean and you dont feel all close together, sites were level and the lake is lovely. One thing, for us dog people, where you walk your dogs is a great spot and would be even better if it was fenced, so they could go off leash a bit. A bit off the beaten track but worth the effort to get there. Had some outstanding Mexican food at the 1800 Mexican Restaurant in downtown Americus, highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I were tenting here while in between housing. It started out great, first couple days, but at the 1 week mark we left. Our main reasons for choosing this campground were the peacefulness (which was amazing) and having access to a full kitchen. However, 1 worker told us we could store our cold stuff in the fridge but another told us we had to take our stuff out even though it was only taking up half of 1 of the 3 shelves. They need to have more definitive rules and communicate with each other better.
Great spot! Great golf! And historical sites not far. Wanna give it a poor rating so nobody finds the best place we have been, but its too great to do that. This is a place we will continue to visit. Staff is great and accommodating. Gnats are bad but if you go camping accordingly, bug spray, etc.., its no problem. I give it 5 stars. And will make this my travel destination.
Nice family owned professionally manacured campground. Beautiful area built inside a golf course. Well stocked office and store with new and modern connections and facilities. Walmart, Lowes and great restaurant choices in nearby Americus. We looked for but did not see former President Carter while there...but maybe we will our next visit!
I would recommend this site to anyone! The staff was very friendly and outgoing and made us feel so welcome! Debra made bags for the 3 kids to do Smores and they each got a koa cup and Billy and Nancy went out of their way to make us feel welcome before we arrived and even more when we got to the site! Thank you for the hospitality! We will be sure to spread a good word for yall! GO NOLES!

2022-05-13Full hookups, nice area to play disc golf, golf, horseshoes. The downside was the grass full of spikey things! Our site was covered in them and we had to carry all of our dogs out to the gravel every day to go to the bathroom. Keep your shoes on here because they hurt like hell! Camp hosts could do a little more because we found cigarette butts on our site when we arrived.

2022-02-24Was visiting a friend and helping do a couple of loads of laundry, a woman who I can only imagine was the proprietor, came in and addressed me with extreme rudeness told me if I wasnt a registered guest I couldnt be there and looked down her nose at me like I was something unpleasant she stepped in.. She was a big burly manly looking woman and looked extremely unhappy. I would not recommend staying here. I was told by other residents staying there that shes that way to everyone.

2022-05-15Request row C, and you will get a spot under trees with a great view of the golf ball/ frisbee golf course. It will also have a picnic table, fire ring, and full hookups. Laundry and shower rooms are impeccable. Close enough to Americus amenities.

2022-07-03This camp ground started out good. Me and our family with two campers travel for work. Debra the lady who runs the park Wow! Definitely isn’t the person she puts on to be. My son having a 2020 camper started having electrical issues his breaker started tripping we brought that to Debras attention at first she sent somebody from the campground to look at it. All he did was just flip it off and on and good to go. Well did it again and the ac stopped working okay so me and my husband bought a brand new ac for the camper our sons working too so to help him out that’s what we did. But again it tripped again so we asked Debra if he can move lots. She said yes and about a week or two later it started again but this time wouldn’t come back on. At this point I’m angry because this is ridiculous. Mind you 3 more calls was made prior to this last call different days this kept happening. Called Debra she’s on vacation so she sent camp ground helpers they come by this time my son had took the face off the breaker and omg! Corrosion, old electrical that has never been updated and spider eggs galore! The helper let him barrow a 30/50 amp plug to use to see how it would work until the next morning and they was going to get someone to come look at it the next morning. and if the 30/50 amp cord worked they instructed my daughter-in-law to purchase one at the store if it did. Well my daughter in law received a phone call from Debra she wasn’t allowed to purchase a plug or plug anything in that it wasn’t the box it was there camper! And they needed to get an electrician to come look at their electrical on the camper! Umm No ma’am! Debra you get an electrician! Not a handy camper man to come out and look at your box and tell you it’s your box and that you need to upgrade the whole park cause almost everyone on that streets breaker box was tripping and using 30/50 amp plug adapters! I know at least 3 other lots was! And the grass it grows so high before they cut it and doesn’t use a weed eater . Had to do our own after working 10-12 hours. Definitely check around or make this place your last choice if nothing else. Save you the headache! I hated to have to write this but it’s true and God knows . Oh by the way since we’ve relocated my son hasn’t had anymore electrical problems since and is plugged straight into the box. Saved money on electrician and moved to a different camp ground after this bleed you dry camp ground.

2021-04-22This is our first stay at a KOA and we couldnt have asked for a nicer campground. We were only going to stay a couple of days and decided to extend our stay by a week. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The tent sites were spacious and close to the bath house and it was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed watching the disc golfers as well as the regular golfers. Andersonville was close and an interesting national park to visit along with the beautifully maintained national cemetery. The only issue I had was the highway noise of cars and trucks running over the rumble strips which is out of the parks control.

2021-04-28Nice campground with large level pull through sites. Campground bathrooms. Laundry and Workout rooms are spotless and clean. There is a well stocked camp store and pro shop for Disc golf and ball golf. The owners are great people.

2021-04-11Quite. Dark skies. Isolated. Peaceful. Really loved the place. Golf course next door. 18 hole disc course surrounds the camp. Bring your own discs or rent some. All sites are grass and are large. Driveways are gravel.

2021-12-04If you are looking for more of a HOA like experience, this is your place. I will give credit to the check in process, a woman greeted me on a golf cart and was very polite. Never have I felt so harassed and unwelcome the following day. Do not expect to have much other than a camp chair outside or you will be reprimanded. I had a pop up canopy outside and was promptly, and rudely told that this was not allowed. Within 10 mins of putting it up, I was greeted with “is this going to kill my grass?”. Ma’am. There was no grass and the sun comes through it so that’s a little odd. Mind you, I read in full the page of rules listed, nothing mentioned about that. I do not enjoy a Karen like experience. Will never stay at another KOA.
