I have been going to this vet for a lot of years. I imagine there are less expensive ones, but pretty sure they would give any better care. Everyone is so compassionate and easy to work with. Today, I was taking my dog in. I am on oxygen and when they saw me struggling a lady came out, took my dog and told be to wait in my car. You aren’t going to find this anywhere else
So I’m writing this as angry as I think I’ve ever been. This facility showed me today that all they care about is the money in your wallet. My pups have been patients for nearly 2 years now. Today my dog decided to eat 4 cigarette butts. This is an emergency situation and has to be treated ASAP. The longer a dog waits after ingesting nicotine, the greater the chance they will succumb to the nicotine and possibly die. The response from the staff, “oh, we’re too busy today and don’t have any appointments, you’ll have to drive a half hour away to the emergency center in Woodstock.” Really, time is of the essence and you want me to drive further. That’s not how a clinic that cares for animals should treat emergencies. Emergencies should be given top priority and all other appointments put on the back burner. I am born and raised here in Canton and have used different clinic all over town throughout the years and they ALL treat emergencies as a top priority. Not this place however. So if you’re looking for a clinic that truly cares for your pet, look elsewhere. They have lost me as a customer for life.
The vets and staff at Animal Medical & Surgical Center saved my dogs life. They were extremely kind, professional, honest, and prepared for a life saving emergency surgery. I was a first time customer that will be a lifetime customer. I cant put into words how wonderful this place truly is. I highly recommend them.
Can not say enough good things about this place! We took our leopard gecko here, but will absolutely be taking all our pets here from now on. Every member of the staff is so kind and the veterinarian is so patient and knowledgeable. Amazing experience start to finish.
Animal Medical & Surgical is the best Veterinarian we have ever been to. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. Office is very clean. We always see Dr. Marrinson. She is so great with our dogs. We always feel our pets are in great hands. We trust her implicitly. Cant recommend them enough. Would never go elsewhere.
Absolutely love the team at AMSC! Theyre very knowledgeable, but more importantly they LOVE every animal that comes through their doors. Everything they do shows that love. I found them because of their knowledge of exotic and reptile pets, but Im going to be taking all of my pets to them.
Our two pups have been cared for by AMSC since they were months old. Now 4 years old, the doctors, assistants, techs and staff continue to always provide A1 service! We are grateful for the recent diagnosis, assessment, treatment and recovery plan which was all spot on! Thank you Dr Kim Crosslin, well done. Lexi is herself again!!!! Looking forward to their continued care.
We got referred here by express vets for a full service clinic and they got my dog squeezed in within an hour of me calling them on a busy day, the front desk staff was nothing short of patient and didnt at all make me feel rushed. Dr Duprel was extremely kind and caring for Frankies visit. She not only helped with the issue he was being seen for, but helped me understand what else he should be doing for other medical problems he has. They kept me informed for every step of the way even when he was in the back getting treatment. The tech that was working with us was phenomenal (I wish I remembered her name to properly credit her) but she let me know an estimated cost of everything before they did it and took the time to explain what it was and why it was recommended rather than them just treating and giving me the bill. This clinic is a well oiled ship and I hate I had to go under the circumstances of my dog being sick but I am glad I’ve been introduced to them.
Ive been seeing these team of Doctors for 23 years now. I miss Dr.Tarabula something terrible for hes taken care of my animals since 1999. Dr Marrinson is excellent and Im happy she is taking care of my dogs. I wouldnt take my dogs to anyone else. Dr Marrinson has been a HUGE help in caring for my older dogs...Thank You Dr. Marrinson for your excellent care of my fur babies !!
Really bad experience and so expensive!! Took dog for clearance on dental and asked to leave him due to being behind. Kept over 2 hours and over $500 in labs and X-rays to be told they felt he had cancer and needed surgery. After one week I had to call to see if labs back and told they would contact me about surgery. 2 weeks after told my dog had cancer no one contacted me and very rude when I kept calling to ask for surgery information. Also dog developed a bad cough after visit and had to take him elsewhere for treatment since they were too busy to get him back in.
We have a balance on our account and we were told we didn’t have to pay on that today, we just had to pay for the current appointment and then pay the balance later. We have the EMAIL showing this information with our quote.Dr. Marrinson told another staff member, after us being in a room for 20 mins, that we had to pay half the balance today. My dog is sick and we were told we could come in today. Some veterinarians only care about money and not their patients.AMSC can’t hold their word to their patients because Dr. Marrinson needs to be sure she can see dollar signs hanging over your head before she fakes her way into the exam room.To say we are hurt and angry is an understatement. We are very aware of our large balance, but do not tell clients they can come in anyway and only have to pay for TODAY’s appointment if it’s not true.
I’ve been taking my animals here for a couple years. I called them today to ask a general health question and they would not answer it without me paying for an appointment. You’re supposed to be able to call your trusted vet who has seen your pets about general health questions. Greedy place. Will never go back. Plenty of options.
I used them for several years for my dogs, they are twice as expensive as others in Cherokee and surrounding counties, and if youre like me you dont care about price, you just want top care. BUT in emergency or difficult situations they will NOT change protocol or go out of their way to help. If you are putting animal down, you have to go inside they will not come outside to vehicle much less to your home. I moved my vet care several years ago when they almost killed my dog with a routine spay surgery. However, some of my family still uses them for their animals. So this week they found out when something goes wrong you cant count on Animal Medical Center in Canton. They will not accept emergency if its at closing time or even 1st thing in morning, but its almost Christmas so they are only taking well checks and working half a day?! Thats insane, they are vetrinarians and if they have a patient they have treated the animals entire life that gets sick 3 days before Christmas at 8 am they tell my sister to bring her elsewhere they cant do anything they only have a skeleton staff, no x-rays. When she has multiple animals and spend thousands each and every visit! Very disappointed and this isnt the first time.
I can’t say enough good things about AMSC and Holly Marrinson DVM. She cleared her schedule to save my dog Denali. I couldn’t find anyone not even my own vet to help Denali. I would with out hesitation recommend Animal Medical & Surgical Center. Thank you all for your kindness! Denali is doing well and she is getting back to be our little lady.
Animal Medical and Surgical staff have been so easy to work with. I have a puppy that may have a serious medical problem and Dr Crosslin is taking us a step at a time to rule out easily treated options first, not jumping to most expensive and invasive options. Explains things well and gives me opportunities to ask questions. Dodi in the office spent so much time and effort trying to find me options for meds that would save me money…. Not the easiest way for them, but most reasonable for me! Greatly appreciate the staff… all so helpful!
This facility has been taking care of our 4 animals for the paste 8 years. We have lost a Cat, and two dogs with them and through no fault of theirs.Since Dr John left, the facility l;eaves much to be desired.Today I went to get a refill for some arthritis medicine for our 6 year German Shepherd and was denied and told she must have blood work, etc.The prescription we just finished was for one a day and was issued on July 1, 2021 with 30 tabs, one a day.Today, November 4, we are down to 2 pills so we only give them to her when needed.Just lost our 10 year old 3 weeks ago so I am still a little raw walking into their office. They refused to give me a refill or even without new blood work. Dog has dysplacia. My spouse is gone to Columbus with the only car that we can transport the GSD in. She is helping to care for her elderly parents. I am 71 and she Dakota is wifes dog and is a bit rambunctious an tough for me to handle alone.Did they care-NopeDid they Ask-NopeThey knew I was upset.Did they give a darn-NopeI cannot recommend anyone go there any more..
AMSC has taken care of my little scooter boy for his fifteen years. He became unable to continue a quality life. They were compassionate and loving. He crossed the rainbow Bridge and is sorely missed. Thanks for the understanding you provided to me as this was heartbreaking for me. Lots of love. Bobby & Nancy Free
This vet was such a blessing. We just moved to the area and had not set up with a new vet yet. On a Saturday morning our beloved lab would not walk or put weight on his legs. We rushed him here to see if we could be seen and thank our lucky stars they did not turn us away even though they were full. Sadly our lab went into cardiac arrest shortly after arrival and after doing everything in their power he passed away. This vet and team went above and beyond for us. We had our young son with us and one of the techs, wanting to spare my son the trama, took him out of the room and watched him and showed him the fish in the lobby. This offered my husband and I time to greave for our puppy without worries. We cannot express enough how much this meant to us. This place helped us in our time of need and this will not be forgotten.
Absolutely wonderful! Took us in immediately because we thought our dogs leg may be broken. After exam they determined it was not broken so no xrays needed. Some vets may have done them anyway and charged the bill up. They charged only for an office visit and that was very reasonable. We could not have been any happier with their prompt attention and no nonsense approach to Novas care. This was my daughters dog but I will be driving the extra 40 minutes for my own 5 pets I am glad I found them for myself!!!
They are really friendly and very knowledgeable people they took great care of my duck and after her being so sick she couldnt walk for over a month they saw her prescribed some stuff and now 4 days later my baby girl is starting to walk again. I couldnt be more happy. Really great staff!!
Ive seen two of the exotic vets at AMSC for my parrots (green cheek conures) and theyve both been excellent. Its a little pricier here than other places (around $80, not including nail trim or gram stain), but the quality is top notch. Both times Ive come here, the vets have given extremely detailed rundowns on what they check for and why, as well as how I can improve their daily health with diet, perch, supplement, and cleaning suggestions. The vets really know what theyre doing, and thats important for pets with fragile immune systems. I couldnt be happier with their service!
They took such wonderful care of my little Ferret, Luna Bear. They were all very friendly and helpful as I was worried about my pet. They explained everything in detail and left feeling relieved. Luna is happy and back to her sweet little self again. These guys are great.
Wonderful vets and staff who truly care. They go so far above and beyond. I have a dog with epilepsy and he oftentimes requires emergency care. They have ALWAYS found a way to fit us in. They show the level of care and urgency as if he were everyones dog that works there. Truly an amazing team.
If I could give negative stars I would. This office has the highest pricing in the area. Over $600 in puppy visits and vaccines. When we originally called they told us over the phone it would be around $350 for pricing for new puppy exams and vaccines. Which is competitive to other vets in the area. By my second visit at $150+ (with 2 more visits still needed) I realized they were priced well over everyone else. I started asking how much more can I expect to pay before we completed our new puppy exams. They office started giving me pricing around $70-80 for further visits. So I went back for our 3rd puppy visit, $120 later I was outraged, we complained about thats not the price quote we were told. The office apologized and that our next visit they would wave the office visit price and it would just be vaccines. I should have walked away then and there forever. But wanted to complete my pups shots, I didnt want to pay a new visit somewhere else. I know now I should have. $150 for our 4th and final puppy exam, they didnt wave anything! When I complained I was stone walled with We dont have records of that conversation and this is the cost. Wow! Shame on them and shame on me for believing they would honor what they told us twice over the phone and in person. I would not recommend them to anyone I know! They have lost us as costumers forever. If you are looking to pay double on your vet bills then this is the office for you! As for me, there are plenty of other vets in the area that Ill give my business to.
I had such a pleasant experience coming to this vet for the first time with our new rescue dog. I had been using another vet since 2007 and after very expensive billing and having extensive treatment pushed on us there (for our dog who was very old and near the end of her life), I decided to change vets to AMSC after a friend recommended it. They were incredibly nice, informative and caring. I will definitely be back with my other dog, as I know they will give her the care she needs.
We have used Animal Medical and Surgical Center for over 20 years. They have always taken exceptional care of our dogs. When ever they have had to stay, the staff will call 2 to 3 times a day to let us know how they are doing. They always give information of different options and allow us to choose what is best for us and our pet. No high pressure sales. You can tell that they all love their jobs and truly care about your pet.
I would recommend this vet office to everyone!! The people there are truly compassionate and love animals!! Dr. Duprel and Dr. Crosslin are best vets and are willing to do everything even go out of their way to help figure out what is wrong with my babies when they are sick!! Love this place and the people!!
I cannot say enough positive things about this place! Doc T was fantastic with my dog, the entire staff was so friendly. They understood that he was anxious (I was anxious) and accommodated us with no issues! We even had a cancer scare and I felt like I was in very capable hands the entire process. Five stars!
We are so thankful for the wonderful care we receive at AMSC. Dr. Marrinson has been our primary vet and we couldn’t ask for a more caring and thorough doctor. I never feel rushed during an appointment and she answers all questions as well as explaining things that can be difficult to understand. Every staff member is so kind and professional. We are always greeted warmly by the ladies at the front desk and every vet tech is amazing! Thank you, Dr. Tarabula, for creating a wonderful practice.
My gsd had a laceration and our vet was closed and our 2 backups vets were full and said they couldn’t take him! I called this place right before closing on a weekend and we’ve never been there before and they were busy but they agreed to take him with no hesitation thank God 🙏🏼 They were all so kind every single person I talked to, they were fast and professional and took care of my dog because clearly they love animals and would do anything for them ❤️ This place was amazing from start to finish and we are so blessed we found them in an emergency
I have taken my cats to this vet service for several years. I love them and I love how they treat my cats. They take extraordinary care of them. They are truly special in their care for animals.I had one cat that 2 other vets felt needed to be put down. This vet center gave him years of extra life and joy. I will always be grateful. They are expensive. But they do go above and beyond. And I appreciate that.
AMAZING experience. From the front desk staff to the vet techs and the veterinarians (Dr. Duprel is wonderful) all were kind, compassionate, and helpful. Very honest about pricing, treatment, and make you comfortable. I would not take my pet anywhere else! I have a holland lop bunny. It is great they see exotic pets too! Very knowledgeable! Wish I could give them 10 stars!
Absolutely phenomenal experience, starting from the the front desk staff who are amazing to the techs who take such care of the animals and then to the wonderful doctors!! I immediately switched all 4 of my chihuahuas from another vet here in Canton to AMSC, plus my foster dog goes there. You can absolutely tell all the staff love their jobs which is so important!!!! This is my permanent vet!!!!!! ♥️
Wouldnt trust my pet to anybody else. Save for the accidental assault on me when I tried to walk in the front door to pick up my dogs meds recently (apparently they are zealous about keeping people outside due to this crazy virus) theyre fine. VERY expensive. Drs Duprell and Marinson are the sweetest. Dr. T. is really good too.
The doctors and staff at this facility are not only professional but are courteous and very caring in everything they do.I am a breeder and take my dogs and our puppies to them. I also recommend anyone in the area who buys our puppies to come here. I never have a concern when Dr. T takes care of my furry children who I love very much.Bonnie B
If I could do less than one star I would. We called today at 1450 in reference to our Jenday Conure acting strange. We spoke to the front office who informed us that by the time we get there it will be 1700 and time to close so it would be too late for our sweet bird to be seen. Oddly enough they are 25 minutes away but apparently new years eves plans trump their job. Luckily for them, our bird passed around 1640 while en route to a competent office. Not like I gave them my business before, but I will never give them my business. Hope your new years is great.
Great vet.. found out my dog had anal cancer at another animal hospital and the vet never x-rayed him. Took him to animal medical and surgical center and that was the first thing they wanted to do. Found out his cancer was all in his lungs and there was no point removing the cancerous tissue on his butt so they saved me thousands of dollars and most importantly saved my dog from going through a bunch of unnecessary surgeries at the other vet. Plus the staff is super friendly and very caring. You can tell they really care about your animal and they love their job. Would highly recommend this vet to anyone! They are great!!
My hamster had an abscess that had gotten infected and I called everywhere to find a vet that would be able to see my little guy. They were able to get me in the same day.The staff was incredibly friendly and as well as Dr. Tarabula.I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
SO pleased with the professionalism and kindness of all of the staff, from front desk all the way up to the vet herself. They are all incredible and so caring with the animals. As I am a first time pet owner, I had lots of stupid questions, and they answered every single one without making me feel stupid, and by assuring me that there are no stupid questions when it comes to caring for your fur baby. 5 stars over and over again! Thank you for all that you ALL do to help us care for our fur babies.
Best vet center we have ever used. We make use of all services: physical/medical, grooming, and boarding for both our pets (dog & cat). Have not been disappointed ever. Most pleasant and caring staff. They even call us every few days when we board to tell us how our pets are doing, and if there is anything else we would like them to check for.
We have four dogs and we train dogs for a living. Two of our four dogs are serious (aggressive) working dogs. The staff handled it so well always asking US how they should go about things that would be quick and efficient with our dogs and the least amount of stress on us all. We also took many of our green dogs there. So all in all we were bringing in dogs just about weekly. They did awesome. Their prices arent cheap, but they arent too expensive either. We recently moved and are almost considering making the 8 hour drive just to use this vet! THEY ARE EXCELLENT!
My dog deserves the best; only Animal Medical & Surgical Center will do! The kindest, most caring staff anywhere, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment...all supporting: the most knowledgeable, expert veterinarians! Complete care for our treasured dogs and kittycats, plus exotic birds and unusual pets. Conveniently, they carry food, treats and supplements. Their boarding accommodations are palatial and their groomer does trims or makeovers!
This has been our first experience with a veterinarian and wow! What an awesome team of doctors and staff are here at the Animal Medical and Surgical Center! Additionally, our pet is a Conure (parrot) so weve been pleased and impressed with the knowledgeable service given to us, since bird care is not as common as cats or dogs! Dr. Duprel was incredibly patient with us, answering all of our questions and spending plenty of time with us, acclimating us to life with birds! Extremely friendly staff, everyone weve come into contact with, even over the phone, and always accommodating! Clean and welcoming!! Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!
Best animal hospital we have ever used, and we have had a lot of pets and a lot of vets. Always professional, courteous, prompter than most, and the doctors are second to none in fixing any type of pet problem or illness. They let you decide the course of action for your pet with their expert guidance and recommendations. The facilities are separated for cats and dogs and are clean and well maintained. The team at AMSC contact you regularly with follow up calls, and the doctors will talk to you after hours to keep you up to date during your pets course of treatment. Wouldnt recommend any other veterinary hospital. You get what you pay for, so you could probably find cheaper vets (and not by much) but you wont find better vets. Gus, Max, and Callie thank you guys!
This place is the best place to get your animals checked out and cared for. My guinea pig Juno came in last week with severe pneumonia dying in fact and they put her on a breathing treatment and suspension fluid medicine. Each day she got pergressivly better and looked better and better every day. Today in fact we came in and got her checked up on to see if she needed to continue treatment, the best vet checked her out and gave us the ok and didnt charge us for the checkup. These people are a God Send and made my baby better again I cant thank them enough for the quality care and expertise.
Cant say enough good things about the people here. Today our Jack Russel Terrier was bitten under her neck by a copperhead snake. Being that we live in Lake Arrowhead up in Waleska my wife thought to go to Waleska Animal Hospital. It was close to noon and my wife was told that they couldnt see our dog until 4pm and that they were closing for lunch from 1 to 3. When my wife informed them that our dog was bitten by a snake they simply reiterated that they were closing for lunch and they could see her at 4pm. Really? A veterinary is there to give care and help save animals. Lunch was more important than helping our dog. So my wife called Animal Medical and Surgical center and they told her to bring her right in. Within a minute of getting there they were in a room, the nurse came in and the vet a couple minutes later. Within 30 minutes of walking in they had checked her, drawn blood, cleaned the wound, and was doing exactly what they are there to do. Superb service, friendly staff, very caring! Highly recommended. Thank you for looking after our Faith with a great sense of urgency.
The level of genuine care that’s been exhibited by both the vets and every member of staff every time I’ve been here has been exemplary. You can truly tell everyone here is in this field because they love animals and want to help. I honestly can’t recommend them enough.
I trust and appreciate the quality of care that my fur baby receives at AMSC for both medical care and when we board her on vacation. It is comforting to know should a medical emergency arise while we are away that she is on site and will receive treatment right away. I highly recommend Animal Medical for pet family.
Today I took my fearful dog to see Dr Duprel who has been his vet for 7 years. She and the staff are just awesome. She got down on the floor to let him warm up to her and within minutes he was in her lap licking her. They didn’t have to even muzzle or possibly sedate him! He never jumped when given his shots or blood drawn. I love you Dr Duprel and staff. I can’t say enough at how happy we are! 5 stars from this happy mama! Carla and Stryker
Always, always, caring and willing to listen to what is going on with my animals. Always, always, treated my animals as if they were their own. They have cared for all of our animals throughout the years and we will continue to come to Animal Medical and Surgical Center for advice and help for as long as we have pets! Great Doctors and staff.
I always feel like my pets are getting the best possible care from the moment we walk in the door. I enjoy the clean, comfortable waiting room with the beautiful fish tank. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. My pets have been cared for by all the Drs and their very knowledgeable staff. I would wholeheartedly recommend AMSC to anyone is requires the best care for their pets!
Words are beyond praise for the doctors and staff of AMSC! Our expectations for our babies are exceptionally high, and they surpass our expectations every time! Dr Duprel has been our Vet for ALL our animals for 18 years!! They take care, give love and go the extra miles - saved many of our fur babies!! Thank you AMSC and Dr Duprel!
Yeah, so I dont know how this company got to #1 recommended vet & groomer in NextDoor social neighborhood networking website, but it certainly isnt because of their front Admin staff....I have been using NextDoor for several years now to find new places go, new restaurants, and where to go to get certain services, so naturally I went there to find a new groomer for my dog as we are new to the area. After seeing all the glowing recommendations for AMSC, I call on Feb 8 to make an appointment to have my Yorkie groomed. I spend about 15 mins on the phone asking the usual questions and getting information and I liked what I heard so I made an appointment; however the appointment wasnt until Feb 19, but its okay I can deal with the wait, all good groomers have a waiting list. So after I make the appointment, I call my vet, whom we love, but she doesnt do grooming, and have my dogs vaccine records faxed over to AMSC. So I wait the 11 days and get there this morning and guess what, they dont have us on the schedule for today. The admin goes back to talk to the groomers and no one has any spots available today either, and next available spot isnt until Friday. But guess what they have in their, un-established patients folder, my dogs vaccine record.. Wouldnt someone have called when they received that and didnt have an appointment?? Someone dropped the ball... Not a good 1st impression, I have to say. Wont be getting a second chance from me...
Our regular vet was closed today so we called the office and got a 10:15 am appointment. We were very concerned with our 10 yr old shih tzu who wasn’t acting herself and stomach very tight. Dr Duprel and her tech were excellent with our dog and took time to discuss, take X-rays and confirm there was nothing to be alarmed about. We are very appreciative of the personal attention and professionalism of the whole staff. Thank you!
Okay, we havent officially taken our cat (Lilly) to their office but we have made several calls. We recently traveled our cat to our new house here in GA and she was a little stressed. We called their office several times for advice and they were very helpful. In getting some things at a local pet store, they commented that they also take their pets to Animal Medical and Surgical Center. It doesnt get any better than that. When we do need to take Lilly somewhere, this is where it will be.
We had an emergency the day after Christmas with our 12 year old dog, he had trauma to the neck. He was suffocating ,and we had to make the decision to put him to sleep. He had been with us more than half my daughters life and she doesnt even remember life without him. We did not have the fee at that moment, it being an emergency and unexpected expense after Christmas, and had not budget for it that day. We told them this when we first went in, so it wasnt a surprise to them when we were ready to leave. The Vet told us to wait out front and they would bring him out to our car, we wanted to take him home for burial. While waiting the front office person came out, and told us to leave that she was not releasing the body til full payment was made. We tried to work out any kind of payment arrangement that would be satisfactory for them, and she refused anything, saying she was keeping his body, no exceptions. We fully intended to pay, my daughter was traumatized and wanted to take him home, there was no compassion and not even a nice demeanor, she was rude, and basically said she didnt care how much we were hurting. In complete contrasted the Vet, a woman,( I dont know if they have more than one Vet in that office) was caring, compassionate, concerned and very empathetic towards our grief and distress, she also told us she would have him brought to our car for us to wait, which we were doing when the front office woman, shoulder length straight blond hair, in case you ever have to deal with her, came out while we were waiting and told us we were not getting him, my daughter was inconsolable.I will never go there again because of the actions of this front office person.Again, one of the most compassionate and gentle Vets I have ever used, she would be my choice for life time care of all my pets, if she had a more compassionate office staff, I thank her for her compassion and understanding. I would give her a 5 star rating, but with our deceased family members body still there tonight, and being held for ransom, I have to give the clinic a 1 star, and would give a 0 star if that were an option. If any one knows if they can or can not do this legally please let me know. Im not asking a lot just a payment plan, and our loved ones body for burial, so that we all can have some closure. Unless you have pets, you cannot understand the trauma my family is going thru tonight. Again 5* Vet with a 1* for one of the front staff people.*********************************************************************************************I would now like to amend this review. Apparently the Vet and the technicians did not know what was happening out front when this person told us to leave that we were not getting his body. After contacting the Office manager and Vet and letting them know what had happened, they immediately released our pets body to us. They were all but the 1 woman, so apologetic and compassionate, warm and caring. At this point I would def use this clinic as my primary care doctor for my other pets, even if this 1 staff member is still there after this mess she started. I would do this because this Vet is one of the kindness and most caring I have ever used, She is what a Vet should be, and the office manager is the same. With all this said I now change my 1 star rating to a 5 star, as I pretend the one rotten apple is not included in this rating. It is well worth your time even if you have to put up with er, to have your pet get the excellent loving care that they will receive at this clinic !!
We had to have our 16 year old chihuahua put down last week. The staff was so comforting and caring. It made a very difficult time so much easier. They even sent a condolence letter signed by all the staff members several days later. Outstanding care in every way. Thank you.
Lucy, Kitty & Nash love everybody who helps them at AMSC Canton! Lucy loves getting her grooming and nails done here; Kitty likes watching all the goings-on outside the big windows when she boards and Nash didnt complain when he got his puppy vaccinations the other day. We are moving out of state soon and hope we can find a practice that we are as confident in as AMSC. Theyre terrific!
I went here for a few years (and spent thousands of dollars in surgeries visits and meds) and Dr. Marrinnson is a great doctor. However, with two dogs on regular medicines, their policy of not approving prescriptions over the phone to online vendors made it impossible and very costly. It is AMSC policy that you must pick up a handwritten rx from them in person. Which will then have to be mailed into the online pharmacy. This was very time consuming and burdensome when they could have quickly provided an “ok” over the phone. They make it so impossible to get online rx orders filled that you buy from them. Additionally, their prices are so heavily inflated. A $240 rx at their office cost me less than $50 online. I am seeing a new vet now and I was shocked when they suggested I order online to save money!
With the assistance of Dr Duprel and other staff members, we were able to get our dogs skin and allergy issues under control. We had been to another Vet, but they had a staff turnover and poor bedside manner. We were told by that Vet clinic that our dog WOULD be put on THIS medicine. We had done research on the medicine they were demanding and voiced our concerns over the side effects that the majority of canine users experienced. Our thoughts fell on deaf ears, and we were told that we would be putting our dog on this, or the Vet wouldnt see us or write another prescription. Instead of exploring other medications (we had attempted the holistic route,) we were told this was it. We later discovered that the manufacturers of that medication provide prescribing Veterinarians a heavy kick-back for each prescription they write for the medication. When we first met Dr Duprel, we had our dogs complete history from the food she was eating and what we had tried, holistic treatments, prior medications, triggers that caused her itching, etc. Dr Duprel listened, and then when we mentioned a medication called Apoquel, she was 100% on board. That was several months ago. Our dog has never been better, and whenever we get a refill, the Vet AND staff members all ask about her and how she is doing on the medicine. They actually cared what we had to say and are just as happy with our dogs progress as we are.I highly recommend Animal Medical and Surgical Center in Canton. Although we moved 40 minutes away and there are other, closer, Veterinarians, we still make the trek up here for our dog.
What an AMAZING feeling it was to walk out of a vets office knowing what you have been told was not only truthful, but very comforting. I have a bearded dragon and it took about 5 calls before I found Animal Medical...so so so glad I did. This was and is a place I will be trusting from now on with Dragon.
I boarded my dog with them for a week while on vacation. She is paralyzed in her hind legs and requires special care. When I returned to pick her up, I was horrified to find out I had been lied to everyday while I was away. She had not been kept in her playpen and they had not changed her diapers regularly or even used the supplies which I had brought for them. They had kept her in one of their cages where she was left to urinate on herself as evidenced by the sores on her bottom and the burns on her feet and legs. The desitin they applied to try to cover for this mistreatment finally led to zinc poisoning and I had to rush my dog to an emergency vet when she developed hemolytic anemia as a result. Her red blood cell count had dropped to only 9% and she required two blood transfusions to save her life. If you love your dog as I do, stay away from this Veterinarian.
Although I didn’t have the outcome I was hoping for with my sweet Cocoa, I cannot say enough good things about this office and Dr. John. He came in not once but twice for Cocoa on his off day bc he truly cared about her wellbeing and for that I will forever be grateful. I knew the whole time she was in the best of hands and that Dr. John wouldn’t let me make any wrong decisions if he thought there was a better one. I will continue supporting this practice and staying a customer bc they are really all in this field for the right reasons. After all was said and done I got a letter today in the mail from them with everyone’s signature and words for comfort written on it. This tugged at my heart strings and put a real smile on my face. Thank you all for caring so much about me and my fur baby.
Had a medical emergency with my lil fur baby and, although they are not his regular vet clinic, they took him right in and saved his life! Plus, they called the next day to check on him! They really care about all animals, even those who are not clients! I will be going back!
I just want to say how fantastic you guys are. All of the staffis so friendly, Dr. Tarabula was excellent. Im just so glad I found a vetclinic that is trustworthy and I came walking out feeling like Capone gotthe best treatment and recommendations. Seriously, thank you guys so much.
Had an appointment today with Angela Duprel, she was amazing, very knowledgeable, very detailed, and caring, loving for my dog Myia, she clearly explained to me about my dogs condition that other vets didnt tell me, (Probably because they didnt know) My Vet for Life !!!!
Dr. Tarabula did everything he could for my baby and even worked with the fact that I had a limited budget. Sadly she passed away a few hours after getting home, but I was expecting it the night before. Dr. Tarabula has seen many of my pets and I will continue to see him for all my animals.
Had a great experience here! Unfortunately, I had an emergent situation with one of my dogs & was relieved when I called them & they were willing to fit him in that morning. (3 other places, including my own vet, weren’t able/willing to move anything around to fit my dog in). We saw Dr Marinson and she was amazing! She’s definitely the real deal and she spent plenty of time explaining everything to me, answering all my questions and giving me an idea of what different options we have moving forward for solutions. Along with the doctor, all the rest of the staff were great too. I could tell that my pet’s best interest was their first priority. They also really helped me with the financial aspect of everything due to my family being on a pretty tight budget. I definitely recommend this animal hospital to anyone looking.

2022-03-30Great Vets. I love Dr Duprel. She is so kind and smart. She always figures everything out. She has saved several of my pets. My pets are my family and AMSC treats them like they are their family too. I love going there. All the staff is so sweet and helpful. I will never go anywhere else ♥️

2022-07-12They see chickens which is great. Vet was so nice on the phone because I had to drop her off and leave her there. The only reason for 4 stars is because I didn’t feel the testing was exhaustive enough when I was concerned with avian flu. I thought they could have done a blood test or something more than suggesting contacting GA Poultry for an exam. I took her there for an exam that I paid for and didn’t want to have to have her examined again.

2022-01-26The Veterinarians and Vet Techs are fantastic. Always polite and caring while keeping you informed. Everyone speaks to you providing information as you would want with a loved one in a level you can understand. The way they are to you and your pet is how doctors and nurses should be to all humans at a regular office or hospital. In addition, the facility always smells clean and is always clean. I have never had an issue making an appointment especially on short notice if needed.

2022-07-06I worked as a vet tech in Florida for 10 years before becoming a stay at home mom and moving to Georgia. This clinic came highly recommended by another friend in the industry I’ve known for years and I was very impressed with my first visit there! Everyone is very friendly and polite, they went above and beyond to help since I had my two toddlers with me and we were in and out pretty quickly! From being in the field myself, I was very happy with how thorough they are with their history questions and I never once felt rushed even with having the kids with me! This place is amazing!

2022-06-12I had an apt for my pet Alexandrine parrot, my first time owning a bird. My experience with Animal Medical from start to end was amazing. All the staff was very pleasant and informative, taking their time to answer all of my questions. We have just moved to GA. A year ago, and have been looking for a veterinarian that we can trust to take our furry babies to. For what I have seen so far, we will be calling Animal Medical our trustworthy veterinarian to care for our furry family members. 😍. Great job yall 👍.

2022-03-29Hands down these are the best veterinarians ever! Our animals have been patients there for 4 years. We got a new puppy and when we took her for a check up the vet remembered our older dog and his food sensitivities and asked about him to make sure we chose a food for our new puppy that wouldn’t make him sick in case he ate her food. Talk about feeling special and knowing that your vet truly cares about your animals ♥️

They take their time explaining everything to you so you understand what is going on with your pet and what the treatment plan will be going forward! . I recommend them highly
