Absolutely love this place! The staff are so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The doctor is very knowledgeable and makes his clients feel like a priority. A great place to go if you are having any type of pain.
Top notch across the board, both in staff and facilities. Dr. Carl, Jenna, and Summer have helped me rehab several running injuries (my own doing!); the focus is always on teaching me how to rehab it myself, but thats honestly what keeps me coming back (plus the wonderful heating pad + electrostimulation prior to my adjustment is like a spa day)!
Started visiting due to intense hip pain when running. After a few months of work I feel good as new. Great service. I would highly recommend. I was skeptical that chiropractic care would help me and only went because my husband insisted. Care takes time but is SO worth it!

All of the other reviews are so on point! I’ve been coming here since the beginning of the year. Not only is Dr. Groft the sweetest, so are the front office ladies! They’re so good natured and they never have bad attitudes.
My daughter and I both see Dr Groft. He and his staff are all amazing; everyone is professional, helpful, and friendly. Dr Groft always makes sure you are comfortable with what he is doing and talks you through everything before he does anything. He’s also very knowledgeable with sports/exercise injuries.
If you’re in Athens and looking for a chiropractor, this is 100% the place to make an appointment. I originally saw Dr. Johnson and she was great, but when she left I decided to see another doctor in the practice. It’s sometimes hard to switch doctors, but not here—I began seeing Dr. Groft (the founder of the practice) and the transition has been seamless. He’s incredibly smart and when I came to him with new pain he quickly found the source and even gave me exercises to do at home along with the chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Groft is personable, respectful, and has a great sense of humor, all of which makes for a helpful and enjoyable appointment each time. Not to mention the awesome staff who are always going above and beyond. Finally, in the time of COVID-19, they have been extremely diligent about frequent cleaning and general safety precautions.
Its a great place to go. I had a problem with my pelvis and after a single evaluation, my doctor made the correct adjustments and I felt Immediate relief from the chronic pain I had been dealing with in that area. I have also benefitted from their continued treatment with a physical therapy program tailored to my needs in their in house gym area. Overall, amazing people, flexible scheduling, and top grade treatment.
I love Dr. GROFT!!! I am very impressed with the staff and services I have received thus far. I think the routine with covid that the office has done is impressive and makes me feel comfortable. I have had an improvement in my back after 2 adjustments. I would recommend this chiropractic office to anyone who is suffering back pain. Ive never been to a chiropractor before but due to my recent accident I was referred to one and they couldnt have picked a better center for me! My doctor Carl Mankiewicz is awesome and all the staff a very welcoming and nice! I love the calming atmosphere! I definitely recommend this center to everyone!
I have never written a review for anyone before, but everyone needs to know how fabulous Dr. Groft is. He not only corrected the problem I was seeing him for within 2 visits, but he also corrected some smaller problems that had plagued me for so long that I had given up trying to do anything about them. He and his staff are friendly and genuinely care about their patients. The office is relaxed and informal but efficient. Everyone remembers you and your problem from one visit to the next. I have already recommended Dr. Groft to everyone I know, and I just cannot sing his praises enough.

Dr Carl has been amazing and insightful. I’m learning how my body has been slowly shifting and normalizing pain due to bad habits. If you’re willing to do the homework they can help get you back to the right kind of normal.
Dr Groft is the absolute best! I’ve been to several different chiropractors but he uses a more gentle technique. My spine is a mess, too much to even get into but Dr Groft always helps me. His staff is kind and friendly. Waiting time is never a problem. He is awesome and if I have to give you any any warning about him, it would be he sometimes tells corny jokes. 😀. My insurance doesn’t cover Dr. Groft but I find a way to go there because I don’t want anyone else treating me.

Athens Chiropractic Healthcare is truly a team that cares about their patients and will go the extra mile to meet your needs. I have had practitioners in the past just get stuck in a routine of care leading to a pleatau in recovery or performance, but everyone here is on another level and able to assess and adapt to any changes and needs I have had over the two years I have been attending this clinic.
Very friendly and knowledgeable chiropractor who is interested in getting you WELL, not getting you to come back (and pay) endlessly like some chiropractors. He is able to determine the root of your problem with just a few questions and tests and then perform a targeted adjustment. Joy (his secretary) is very friendly as well!EDIT: Above review was written six years ago. I still, to this day, use a car seat item that Dr. Groft recommended for some serious issues I was having. Without the seat I start to feel pain after about 30 minutes of driving. Dr. Groft improved my quality of life so much with his treatment and recommendations. I no longer live in Athens but his impact on my life is still felt. Great doctor that wants to get you well and help you enjoy your life.
Ive been seeing Dr. Groft for a little over a year now. I go in for adjustments twice a month and its exactly what I need due to my chronic neck pain. Dr. Groft is very knowledgeable, and I always feel better after my “bone-cracking” visits. He has helped me with my hip and neck.
I have been going to see Dr. Groft for about two years. I had tarsal tunnel syndrome about two years ago and found him while searching for a less invasive way to resolve it. His treatments got rid of it in just a few weeks. He is now treating me for a pinched nerve. Dr. Groft and his staff are always friendly, helpful and kind. Dr. Groft is personable and is never in a rush to get to his next patient. I HIGHLY recommend him to you regarding his chiropractic skills. And this is coming from someone who was initially hesitant about visiting a chiropractor.

I have been seeing Dr.Groft on a regular basis for the past 6 months. He has tremendously helped hip and shoulder issues I have been plagued with constantly over the past couple of years. Even if I give him short notice on appointment times he almost always is able to see me. He takes the time to explain where the pain is coming from and what he and I can both do to help. Im extremely happy with the service and results I have received from his practice.
When I first saw Dr. Groft, I could barely walk and was in constant pain. His treatments have eased that pain and made movement easier as well. He is personable and funny, and sets his patients at ease, making them feel comfortable. I would (and have) recommend him to any of my friends.

After experiencing daily shoulder, neck and back pain for about two years and being told by both a GP and an Orthopedic Specialist that the pain was due to bone spurring and arthritis to which nothing could be done, I came to Dr. Groft feeling hopeless and out of sorts - literally. He was knowledgeable, friendly and comprehensive in his approach. The chiropractic treatments were affordable and effective. Within a couple of months under Dr. Grofts care, the pain I was experiencing completely disappeared which I did not believe was possible. Thank you Dr. Groft!

READ THE WHOLE REVIEW From the first visit I should have known that this was not the place for me. The doctor immediately indicated how busy he was. In addition he was incredibly rushed in how he reviewed my notes and xrays. I felt each visit was worse and worse in the area of being rushed in and out. For the money I choose to go somewhere else where I can get one on one attention for more than a short a session. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE::::: HOWEVER I recently received the most touching personalized note from the doctor acknowledging my concerns. Not only did he apologize but gave me a detailed plan of how he has improved the issues I faced since I last visited. Lastly, he refunded my copays- That my friends is what a real person who really cares about his practice does. Were not perfect humans and running a business is hard. Kudos to you Doc for what you did for me.
After having my 1st car accident Dr.Carls team has made this the easiest experience. Dr.Carl himself knows exactly each time where I’m hurting. My very 1st visit I was terrible scared but like he said no one walk out without a smile and he was right! A big thank you to Dr.Carl and his team!!!!

2022-02-26I’ve been a couple of times since my first initial visit. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Dr. Groft is very knowledgeable and easy-going. He makes you feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend their service.

2021-10-30Dr Groft always helps me out with my bad back and neck. Besides being a great chiropractor, he always has some funny story or joke to share. My husband and I have both been going here for years and always have had great experiences.The staff is always friendly and accommodating as well.

2021-11-23Dr. Groft is extremely knowledgeable and effective at treating a wide variety of chiropractic conditions. I’ve seen him for many years and he’s always able to provide chiropractic relief for my needs. When traditional medicine was not been able to find the root cause of my pain Dr. Groft got to work to figure out the problem and developed a treatment plan to get me back to being pain free and functioning at full capacity. He is the only chiropractor I would recommend to my family and friends. His staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they make you feel at ease when you are in the office.

2022-03-15Final Update: Ive switched my healthcare to the VA, and they are assigning me a chiropractor of their choice. So I wanted to leave a final review. Being in my 40s and having lived all over the U.S., Ive had many healthcare providers, some good and some not so good. Dr. Groft has been one of the best. I think you will find him to be warm and friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and skillful. Hes the kind of person who brings out the best in everyone. His employees seem genuinely happy to work for him, and he doesnt sell products for a large markup like some other practices - Im not even sure he sells products at all actually (though he was able to suggest one I needed once, and where to find it affordably). His technique is so gentle that it hardly seems you are getting an adjustment. So if youre new to chiropractic care, or thinking of switching providers, I think he would be a great choice.Update: I’ve now been coming to this practice for almost 8 years, and Dr. Groft is still the best. He genuinely cares about his clients, is ethical in his practices, and I swear he has magic hands. Cannot recommended this practice enough!I have moved several times over the years and been to many chiropractors. The chiropractors here are the best and most thorough. They’re both really nice people too, who are warm and helpful. I never have to wait long when I arrive for an appointment, and the one time I needed an emergency adjustment they were able to get me in right away. I highly recommend them!

2021-09-30I didnt receive any kind of real evaluation until months in when I saw someone other than Dr. Groft. Whoever that was immediately noticed issues with the mobility in one of my hips and I would have loved if I could have seen him first so maybe I could have spent money on real solutions. Every time I went in, Dr. Groft would bring up something about what I was wearing or ask me a question, and then respond with how much he disagreed with me on a matter I never asked about and had nothing to do with the appointment. It felt like I was going in to be criticized. The appointments felt like we were just going through the motions of a visit but I was being told to go in often. Waste of my time and money.Location is convenient.
