I cant claim to be a serious food critic, but Im very particular about my late-night, dont-feel-like-cooking dinner or my mid-day, still-dont-feel-like-cooking lunch. Ive only had good experiences for the many times Ive ordered veggie pizza from here, so it feels like its about time I leave a good review. The crust, sauce, cheese, and all the veggies are perfect, and I dont say that lightly. Its the only pizza I still love when reheated in the oven the day after. Sorry about the picture, I couldnt wait.
Shout it from the rooftops this place is the bees knees , pasta zones pizza wings ... all fresh rich in flavor and delicious . Portions are fantastic , definitely a belly full .. the garlic bread is actual baked bread not buttered dough like most places ... this is my first choice for Italian style in Athens
Good pizza. Seemed empty in there. I suggest at least serving beer, which this place oddly does not.
Service was ok. The people were not overly friendly, but they werent rude either. Pizza was very good. The kids had a plain cheese and we had the Artisan which was delicious. Definitely a decent place to stop.
Excellent! I always avoided it because it never looked busy, I now know it’s because of the carry out volume. Decided to give it a try last minute. When I asked the girl behind the counter how good the pizza is she replied “I started working here because the pizza was so good”. She was right, it has old school dough that forms big bubbles when baking, crust is perfectly browned but not too crispy when finished, a dark sauce with perfect flavor profile, and a cheese combo that stays melted and stringy even after it starts to cool down a bit. The oven just slightly crisps the pepperoni edges perfect.
Me and my wife came to Athens for a couple days on a getaway trip. Decided to get some pizza. This place was great!! Fast delivery and very fresh. Would highly recommend! It also reheats well in the oven the next morning!
Seriously amazing pizza. We ordered 9 pizzas (4 cheese, 2 pepperoni, 1 sausage, and 2 with veggies) for our child’s birthday party and it was a complete hit. We used the online ordering feature and the pizza was not only ready on time, but it was also hot and delicious. Athens Pizza is a five minute drive from my house, which means I will be a frequent patron here! It’s my favorite pizza place in Athens!
The XL Artisan is the bomb! Really fresh toppings, good crust. The owner is a nice guy who is often working there. Its extremely near where we live, so its convenient to order ahead and pick up on the way home, which we do all the time. Pick up time are very good. One of my favorite pizza places in Athens.

Took out a pizza on a late Sat night. They prepared the pizza in a relatively short time. The staff was really friendly and the pizza itself was just so delicious. Definitely recommended.

I had to update my review. The pizza is tasty, but its very hit or miss. Ive had perfect orders and Ive had cold food with items missing. Its worth a try, but pick-up if you can and check your items before you leave.
Third time Ive ordered from them and something I paid for was not on the order. This time it was additional salad dressing, a pizza topping, salad cheese and crutons. In addition, after pre tipping and being quoted a delivery time of 50 to 60 minutes delivery...our food came, definitely not as fresh as it once was at the TWO HOUR MARK through a delivery service we didnt book through. Wont be ordering again.
This place would not honor a perfectly good coupon I received in the mail. The coupon was NOT expired - they simply wouldnt take it! The owner stated in a response to my review (That he has since deleted) that they do not send coupons in the mail. This was a straight up lie. I have uploaded photos of the coupons I was sent so people can see for themselves. Click on my profile to view them. So rather than aplogize for not taking the coupon he curtly responded to this review by basically calling me a liar. Unreal. Plenty of other great Italian places in Athens to choose from. My advice is to stay away.
NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! This is hands down the best pizza in Athens. It is ALWAYS cooked perfectly, ALWAYS cut perfectly, and ALWAYS tastes amazing. I have never had a bad experience. When they closed for a month or two over the winter, me and my partner were in despair. Now that they’re back we order every 2 to 4 weeks, sometimes more. Our favorites are the Athenian (a veggie delicacy) and the Meat Lovers. We have always ordered delivery via Cosmic and have never gone in.
Not great, pizza is mediocre maybe because Ive had better. Ordered extra sauce and cheese (the cheese I was charged for) and it was not on the pizza. They also changed my order time to 45 minutes to 55 minutes when it was done within 20. Will not be back.
Ive been here a few times and its by far the best pizza Ive had in Athens. Salads are always fresh and the wings are on point every time. Great crew here too. Theyre always polite and the service is fast.

Staff are all super friendly and personable. The inferno wrap is literally the best wrap Ive ever had from anywhere. Pizza is also top notch, and reasonably priced. Lastly, the customer service is excellent. No one picked up when I called to order (must have been busy), but then someone called me back. Ive never seen that before from any restaurant. Fantastic! I hope you guys stay open for a long time!
I recently ordered the Spicy Chicken Wrap and Cinnamon Sticks through the Athens Pizza app. I placed the order around 6:35 pm and needed it before 7 pm, but the estimated pickup time was ~7:15. I called and asked if there was any way to get the order earlier, and they said it would be ready in the next 10 minutes. I got the food at 6:50 pm.Thanks Athens Pizza for accommodating!

We are long time customers. This isnt our first time ordering. This place consistently gets the order wrong. Its over priced. The food isnt that good. The service is even worse. They just called to tell me the reason my order is incorrect is because of supply issues. As a customer its not my problem. Tell me that when I order, not when my food is delivered. This place is trash. Dont waste your time or money. I have lived in Athens 6 years. This is the worst fast food place in Athens. We just used it because its around the corner from the house
The owners steal tips from delivery drivers.I noticed something was up by them endlessly refusing to give delivery drivers receipts despite me asking the driver to bring one, which was suspicious.So I started always asking my drivers to bring receipts and if they couldn’t I would ask them how much tip they received since I always leave one. I’ve found after much investigation that if I place the order through Cosmic Delivery, the driver will receive their full tip as well as an online and paper receipt. But when I call the order in through Athens pizza directly or place it through GrubHub, they send it in through to their main delivery service without any info and STEAL the tip for themselves. They get away with it because I asked three different delivery drivers to show me their online receipts on their phone once they arrived to know what the hell was going on and they indeed cannot see the order info if it was sent to their service by Athens pizza. Only the price of the order, which Athens pizza clearly put in themselves or edited because it does not match what I am charged on my bank account. It’s always the total minus either my entire tip, or the majority of it.I thought it was Cosmic Delivery stealing tips at first because I’ve only ever noticed it with them, but I BELIEVE that’s because cosmic is the only service that Athens Pizza can both SEND AND RECEIVE orders. I say this because I realized if I place an order through Athens pizza directly, it’s always being delivered by a cosmic driver, never any other service unless you placed it through another service. Which means they are sending all delivery orders that come through from a place that doesn’t have their own driving service to Cosmic delivery.I tested this theory by placing two different orders directly through Cosmic to see if the tips were still missing, but the drivers received their full tip as well as online AND paper receipts when I place through them. So it’s definitely Athens Pizza stealing the tips.Shame. Drivers make a living off tips and they’re taking that from them. I will never order from this place again, no matter how good their food is. Makes sense now why they pay their employees less than you can make at Mcdonalds. Don’t give money to these thieving cheapskates.

I ordered from here for the first time after I got fed up with the chain pizza place next to my house. I am so glad, because this pizza was AMAZING. I also got wings and a salad which were equally wonderful. So good, prepared quickly, and most importantly, the service was great. An added bonus is that their website is really easy to use. This will definitely be my new default pizza delivery option. Very impressed.
DELICIOUS. I love it here. Quick service, super small business, I feel. Deserves more recognition. I hope people know that they relocated just across the street! I implore you to try one of their calzones. I like the Hawaiian one :-)
The pizza is great! I got the Artisan pizza today and it’s really, really good. They use fresh ingredients, and the pizza isn’t overly greasy.
PSA Athens Pizza moved locations across the street -- the old location is empty even though the sign is still there. They moved to being by the liquor store now (its actually pretty convenient!)This is the best local pizza place in my opinion. Ive been to a lot of pizza places in Athens, such as: Little Italy, Mellow Mushroom, Fully Loaded, Teds Most Best, Mama Sids, and Johnnys Pizza. When I want restaurant style pizza, I always choose Athens Pizza. Theres something about the crust that makes it just a level above everywhere else. They have a really tasty tiramisu, too. Some people complain about it being pricy, but its priced fairly when compared to similar restaurants.
I usually have GREAT experiences with Athens Pizza but I ordered recently via their app which still took my money. I didn’t know that you guys are in the middle of relocating so I drove down their for my food, only to find the place empty. The owner told me that the refund should bounce back automatically but I still haven’t gotten my money back so, what’s going on?Edit: Did you guys get the email that I sent inquiring about my refund?
I just want to say. I worked fir bulldawg pizza for 2yrs and would not even try this place. But when i got let go 4 days before Christmas from bulldawg pizza u tried this place. I can say i was wrong this place is wayyyyyyy better. I am nkt just saying that cause i was let go from bulldawg pizza a few days before Christmas. This place is awesome. The pizza and wings are way better and cheaper and i hope people will give them a chance they will not be disappointed

I ordered fettuccine with homade sauce and chicken. There wasnt even a 1/4 cup of chicken in it. And a lot of grissle. Sauce wasnt that good. Very bland. It came with 2 slices of garlic toast. That was good and warm.The Greek salad was spot on.I didnt get my soda. When I emailed them about it they immediately refunded my money. I would have liked the soda.The delivery guy called when he got to the lobby of the hotel. He didnt want to ride the elevator to the 3rd floor I suppose.Took 1.5 hours to get my food.I wouldnt recommend this to feed my neighbors dog that barks all night.

Hands down, the WORST run business I have ever come across. The food is actually really good, which is such a shame! Weve had problems with delivery for a while now, which is horrendous (large wait times, cold pizza upon arrival, etc.), but we keep going back because we like the pizza. Last weekend was the FINAL straw. I pre-ordered two pizzas at 5:45pm for a 7pm arrival, and it didnt arrive until 9pm! NO phone call with a status update or apologies from the establishment (the one time he actually answered). I was dismissed and even hung up on, after he rudely stated that I just had to wait because the driver was detoured because of the game (there were no road blocks or detours because of the game from where I live to Athens Pizza). I kept calling to see where my pizza was, and nobody ever picked up. I had to call the third party delivery service to complain and even THEY couldnt get a hold of Athens Pizza. I think it is terrible customer service! All I asked for was an apology, a status update, or even my order to be comped for essentially waiting 2 hours for my pizza. I ended up just cancelling the order through the third party delivery app because nobody at the establishment would answer to process my cancellation. Absolutely horrible. If this was a one time thing, I can forgive, but because its happened a few times I will not be going back here.
The Gyro wrap was okay, the pita was dry and old, but the meat and sauce was flavorful enough. Their fries were severely overcooked and burned through the to-go box and subsequently my hand. Their pizza sauce is a little sweet, but decent enough overall. Wont be coming back.
Ordered the Artisan and some cheese bread from here a few days ago and LOVED it! My partner and I are a bit snobby when it comes to pizza since weve had some of the best from Chicago, New York, and St. Louis, and this is hands down the new favorite pizza joint in Athens. We have tried Automatic, Transmetropolitan, and all the chain stores around, and Athens Pizza is by far the best pizza we have had yet.The ingredients actually tasted fresh, and the cheese was quality stuff instead of the cheap mozzarella blend you get at most joints. On top of it all, the service was kind, quick, and professional. We will definitely be going back as this is the best option in town!
Had the Waikiki pizza: ham, pineapple, and jalapenos pizza, it was some of the most delicious, fresh tasting pizza I have had in a while. Also tried their spicy BBQ wings, which were not too spicy, but had a kick to them. Ask when ordering to make them more than mildly spicy. The ham was in nice chunks instead of the gross flat things that harden, which pizza restaurants usually put on their pizzas. The lady behind the counter said that they use their own type of fresh mozzarella which makes the pizza taste a certain type of delicious. I can confirm. They also stay open real late and do not charge a delivery fee to places within a mile and a half radius. Loved the hospitality from the lady behind the counter and could not have been any sweeter. Definitely gonna try other items on their menu next time around. Although the Waikiki pizza might be my staple favorite.

Placed an online order at 7:30pm. Was told it would be delivered by 8:41pm. Called twice before someone answered. Was told were behind and our driver left without the order .Had to send my son to pick it up.Still being charged for delivery and tip. :/Do NOT bother with this place!

Incredible, possibly the best spread of Italian style food in Athens, there is no other choice for us here at best western. This is the only place we know of to get delicious pasta dishes delivered. The quality of ingredients is amazing, the flavors are rich everything seems to be fresh like homemade . If you want pizza or cal zones or pasta go here and no where else
Athens Pizza is the best pizza place in Athens. They are fairly new, but their food will definitely stay delicious. They were very accommodating, friendly, and nice. Their restaurant was very clean and their location was very convenient to UGA. We only discovered this restaurant a few days ago, but we have been eating there ever since. We will definitely be coming back.

Of course they dont know my real name but my nickname is Peaches... Since they have opened Ive been getting food from here. The first time when you all open I must admit I didnt like you guys wings so I waited for a month or so to try you out again... Ive eating here four plus time. The customer service over the phone is absolutely great.. I love the fact that nobody has a problem with answering questions. And if they dont know the answer they make it their best to find out... Im in love with the pizza... I wouldnt even order from anywhere else.. the fries are awesome... My oldest order a Philly steak sub and she loved it. My middle son loves the wing and fries.. and my baby girl enjoy the pizza and wings... Keep up the great work. Yall also have some wonderful driver... They are the most nice driver Ive meet.. thank yall keep up the great work.
Part of being in the food business is customer service. This establishment Seems to have 0. Our delivery time was estimated at a hour and 8 minutes, I called after a hour and 15 minutes to be told it would take a additional 30-45 minutes. Yes it’s Friday night I understand that however you should be able to either give a better estimate or at least alert the customer it will take longer then expected. Secondly when I called the young lady on the line said they apologize for the wait but seemed so unapologetic and was so monotone it sounded like a recording. After being told it would be at least a two hour wait total I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager only to be put on hold and then told they didn’t have one. I said so it’s a busy Friday night and you have no manager and she said yes. She then replied it’s a small business and there were only two people working. If this is the case maybe you shouldn’t offer delivery. This has to be one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. You guys need to either do better or not do it at all.
This pizza is actually amazing! I would say this is easily the best pizza in town. The customer service was phenomenal as well. All ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and the price was completely right! I will 100% be eating here again!
Amazing pizza! It wouldnt be too far a stretch to say the best in town. Pasta and sides are great and everything tastes fresh everytime. Customer service is exceptional as well. Very comfortable, laid back vibe inside and super convenient location. I hope this place is here to stay!
I eat here every time we go to Athens! The pizza is hot and tasty. The restaurant is perfect as a hang out place. They have all possible variations of pizza you could want. Delish!
Pizza was better than a lot of places. The parm garlic sticks were plentiful but lacked flavor. The toppings were lackluster on the Waikiki. The pineapple were definitely canned but there were enough on it. Kind of wished the cups were bigger for dine in. They now have real plates and silverware for those who in the past complained about disposable plates. The calamari were the frozen variety. We will probably try it again sometime but wont be making any special trips just to get it.
I went in an ordered a classic BBQ chicken pizza that tasted worse than store bought. Digerio is way better plus worth the money. Also ordered baked ziti which tasted like it was under cooked an cooked in tomato paste with water. Not good at all.
The pizza and breadsticks were great. The food was cooked to order so there was a bit of a wait (which you could probabaly avoid by ordering ahead) but the food was worth it. Wait staff was very polite and attentive. There was a delay on part of the order but they notified us as soon as they noticed it and provided some complementary items to compensate. Restaurant was very clean and well-maintained. Overall we had a very good experience and would definitely dine here again.
I ordered a pepperoni pizza, thats it. I got a whole other pizza with green peppers and spinach. I asked if I could get a reorder because this pizza was for my kids. I was told that they close at 10 when in fact they close at 3 am. Never order from this place. I will be placing a fraudulent charge on them because they refused to give me my money back. Dont order from them!!!
I liked the food and options very much.Great pizza, but they are still using foam plates instead of paper.Not good.And they will not give you a glass of water, you HAVE to buy bottled.These two problems, easily fixed are all that stopped me from rating them5 stars.
I bought a meatball calzone it was cooked nicely except the meatballs were in slices instead of half a meatballs or whole meatballs where the calzone would have been real nice the building and atmosphere itself was pretty neat Ill have to try
Athens pizza is the perfect little hole in wall off milledge. The are primarily take out and delivery and I dont think they even have napkins or condiments on the tables and you fill water from the fountain but the make a solid pizza and good wings at a fair price. Usually order once a week at minimum for the last few months.
We arrived about 10 minutes after they opened, couldnt get one sandwich because they werent ready yet. I ordered an anchovy/jalapeno pizza an the cook forgot to put jalapenos on, the anchovies were few an far between. For my trouble they gave me a free soda..Not planning on going back, even though we are in that area almost every Friday..To answer the owners response to my review, yes we did visit Athens Pizza just after a treatment at 5 Points Acupuncture a few weeks ago. It was recommended by the receptionist there. I mentioned to the server that someones car keys were on the counter, she said the owner left them there and was in the back cooking. Im sticking with my review as written. It was June 17th and I paid $26.96 for our meal...

I would give one star, but it was at least edible, so heres two. I ordered through cosmic delivery. I order pizza almost every friday as a fun treat for me and my kids. My go-to is Mama Sids, which I cannot praise enough. Tonight, I thought we could change it up and try something else. So I gave this place a try. It was expensive and fast food level pizza. I got a shrimp alfredo 12 and it literally had 5 penny sized shrimp on the whole pizza, barely a hint of alfredo, and mostly cheese. The garlic parmesan sticks were just barely seasoned breadsticks... I thought they were more like cheese sticks, but that was my misunderstanding. They were still not great. I ordered a few other things, but none of it was on par with the cost. I could make all of it at home and it would turn out better. Im glad other people think its great and I wish no ill will, but Im definitely not ordering again. Ill stick with cheaper and tastier places.
Athen’s Pizza is definitely my go-to, favorite hang out place in Athens. Great food, great prices, great location too (not too far from campus). Their Volcano pizza is my favorite, and I love the chicken parm sub!!
OMG guys this is our first time ordering pizza from here and we ordered the Shrimp Alfredo Pizza and this has got to be the best pizza we have ever ate!! It was a fast delivery, the driver was awesome and the food excellent and the price was very affordable! Must try place if you havent yet!
Ive never had a problem here. Front and back staff greet you when you come in, and they plenty of awesome flavors to keep trying. The only pizza place Ive been to with anchovies yet. Dont knock it until youve tried it.

Bad customer service. They didnt understand their own Groupon. Got 3 other orders wrong while we ordered in store. We told them specific time for pickup two pizzas. We showed on time (decided to eat take out in store), but can tell the pizzas have been sitting for at least 30 mins. No other customers while we ate. Pizza was mediocre...nothing special to us.

I just got back into Athens and they were the first meal(I got The Athenian) that I had that wasnt cold bread and ham. Was excellent and really hit the spot. Thank you for the yummy food.
I shouldnt have to call the place to figure out their new location. I placed my order over the phone and not one mention about them not being at their old location. I understand its not too far away from the old location but Im from out of state and Google maps still brings you to the old building. It only takes a couple of minutes to update your new location.
Anytime I order pizza, I get it from here. It is so good and they have quick service. They have a ton of options and their food is always great. Definitely recommend over the chain restaurants around here.

Ordered through Bulldawg foods and its great. Pizza crust is delish and is unapologetically greasy , but like a doughnut. Toppings are plentiful and fresh. The Greek salad was vibrant and ingredients were well incorporated. Plenty of tasty dressing included. I would order again and we were about to order dominos which we always regret but this didnt make me feel like a lumpy teenager. Also was delivered stupidly fast so good on both enterprises.
Can I just start with WOW? The pizza here is AMAZING. I wish I lived here, in Athens, just for their medium cheese pizza. It’s crisp, cheesy and godly. Worth the money and the service is perfect. Thanks you guys!!!
$12 for a cheese pizza, I would compare the quality to little ceasars. Its a new place maybe there quality cost will get better but as of now, its a hard pass. Bulldogs pizza on the other hand is still the go to, sorry guys ☹️
They need to seriously rethink their salad menu. The Caesar salad consisted of a stingy amount of Romaine lettuce and about quarter cup of grated cheese out of a plastic jar with a few croutons out of a bag. Everything was sold in disposable containers, and there was no recycling. They didnt even have cups for water. While the person up front was very nice, we could have had a better meal at Wendys or Subway. It is unfortunate that this restaurant will probably not last very long because theyre using the same formula and apparently the same seating arrangement that the previous restaurant used that was in this space. I wish I could be more hopeful but I dont see anything unique or special that will allow this particular restaurant to thrive any better than Koyla did. Now as Athens Pizza and before when it was Koyla, they couldnt decide whether it was fast food or a sit-down restaurant. I wish someone would warn prospective starter restaurant owners that this is not an ideal location for a restaurant. The fact that it hasnt been snapped up by a Starbucks or TJs deli is a good clue. Parking is difficult, too tight, and theres too much street traffic in front of the entrance.
The best pizza you will ever taste, and any toppings you put on that freshly delicious dough will taste good. My favorite is the Bianca Pizza with kalamata olives and artichoke with feta cheese.

Enjoyed the spicy chicken calzone. Made fresh to order, delivered to my table, and greatly enjoyed. Was even able to get some work done over my lunch hour with the FREE WIFI. Highly suggest giving it a try. Blasts Bulldawg Pizza out of the water for sure.
This pizza place is AMAZING!! It’s always hot, delicious, and isn’t greasy like some of the other pizza places in Athens. 10/10 would recommend.
I have no idea what the pizza tastes like. The website will not even let us see a menu nor order for pickup at any time. That combined with the fact we live in the country means we will probably never eat here. Hopefully this changes in the future.

Would recommend calling ahead and then picking up pizza. Had the meatlovers pizza and really enjoyed it. Sizing was good, just a little pricey for college student budgets.

2022-05-26Well, I had the best pizza of my life last night and I’m not even being hyperbolic. It was the Alfredo pizza: add fried chicken and spinach. Been getting pizza here for years but tried something new and it was amazing. Anything else I’ve ever gotten was also good - 5/5 ⭐️ stars but the pizza I brought home last night was more like a 100/5 ⭐️ stars. You should really try it.

2021-11-20Order got messed up. Order cvolcano pizza but when opened at home it was a Calzone. The Calzone is dried out as you can see from the pics. Also wings are very small, size of a small finger.

2022-03-19Dont order from here if youre any further than 2 miles away. They will deliver your pizza 1 1/2 hours later, stone cold, offer a refund, dont process refund, and hope you just go away. The driver acted as if it was business as usual, didnt really care.A key indicator that they really dont care is when you read these reviews, they dont respond at all. Not to good reviews, not to bad reviews. So....theres that.Edit: I did not order through a third party. Your store was called directly. Stop blaming a delivery company. Please look at my order. Better yet, find my name on the order. You cant , I didnt order it. My wife did. If youre going to blame your customers for your faulty operation, at least get it right. You dont even know what order this is in reference to. No worries, better to have my money once, than recurring. Sound like a good business plan?

2022-04-30The service was great. Two people working one out front the other in kitchen. Pizza taste like gas station pizza. The crust taste like it has been frozen. Dried out as well. I noticed the guy in the kitchen wasn’t throwing any dough for the pizza.

2022-06-27We stumbled upon this place accidentally. And THANK GOD WE DID!! This was hands-down THE BEST pizza that I have ever had, and the wings were so good! Juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. You must try the Margherita and/or Primavera pizzas. This will always be a must have anytime we are in Athens, GA!!!
