Dropped bike off to get a tune-up in mid May. Fast forward to June 27th they call and say the bike is ready to pick up. Phone goes straight to voicemail every time so not able to confirm a pickup time. I drive down and say I am here to pick up a repair and am told the manager who has the keys to the shop just went to get lunch he will be back in 30 minutes. Mind you this is at 1 o’clock supposedly 1 hour after they open. I go back pick up the bike and drive home only to discover that the replacement kickstand I paid $30 for was not installed. Instead the broken one that i paid to have replaced is still on there. In all paid $100 for a tuneup and repairs not sure what they did during the tuneup but I’m gonna guess not much. Bike seems to be in the same condition it was when I dropped off over 6 weeks ago. Only thing it seems like they did was fix a crank arm. I’ve been calling and calling to try to sort it out phone goes straight to voicemail every time without even ringing try to leave a message but mailbox is full. I would save yourself the hassle and stay away...at least for repairs.
Great shop with amazing and helpful staff who made buying a new bike a seamless experience. Definitely one of the best purchases in recent memory. Less than two weeks after buying my bike, someone mangled the back wheel while it was chained at a rack outside a coffee shop. When I took my bike in to buy a new wheel, the staff remembered me and replaced the wheel for free. Really friendly staff and top notch customer service!
First off Id like to say that I dont do reviews and Im rarely overly impressed.Today however was different and I felt as though I should write this review.I went into the shop today for the first time with my daughter. She is about to turn 18 and wanted a bike for fun and to take to college. They were very busy as it was the first really warm and sunny day in a while. They were extremely pleasant and very accommodating. My daughter is tiny and finding a good fit for her was proving to be difficult. They answered all our questions, offered suggestions, and let us take a spin on the beltway, my daughter on the one she was interested in, and they let me go with her on a rental bike at no charge. We ended up buying an older bike that they used for rentals that was relatively cheap. We bought an over the rear tire rack and they were very gracious about staying past their closing time to put it on her bike and threw in a bottle holder also. The Frenchman that runs the floor and the bike mechanic were the absolute best. They treated us as though we had bought a more expensive bike. I definitely will be going back.
I took the bike and was told it takes 2 days to fix. I left it for 2 weeks to give the shop time. I returned to pick it up, and was told they forgot about it and to give another 2 days. I gave them 3 more weeks, and came back. I was told by the assistant manager that they forgot and he can give me the bike at no charge !!!! They are amateurs and have no customer service.
Went in for a new used bike since my last one was stolen, greeted by cuddliest dog ever. Employee was very helpful with just the right amount of dry nihilistic humor I want from a retail worker. Picked my bike and he was nice enough to knock a few $ off. Walked in and out in 10 minutes with a new bike. I am a very happy camper. Also lowkey he was cute he should hmu if he reads this.
Awesome shop! Helpful, knowledgeable employees, great pricing, and quick turn-around times. My bike was ready to be picked up after a tune-up the next day! The only downside is parking is a little rough (bumpy gravel lot with minimal street-side parking) so be careful if you drive a low vehicle.
Came here to get my bike looked at because it was having issues with rear brakes. The gent determined I needed new rear pads and replaced them. But he did so incorrectly, installing two right-handed pads when they should have been left and right. This imparted uneven braking force on my wheels, causing unnecessary wear on the rim. To make matters worse, he left my rear wheel insecure in the frame, which was only discovered recently when I took it to another shop because the brake issues continued. I could have gotten seriously injured had the wheel come out while I was riding. This place seems to turn and burn customers quickly, and if my example is an indication of the hurried workmanship, I’d be cautious and check over your bike carefully after any repairs.
Found this little place on a fluke after those aqua-colored rental bikes around town didnt even work. Anyway, their price was fair and even with the volume of all people they were friendly. They made sure all our questions were answered...we even bought a shirt to give them a bit of our patronage! Will return. 10/10 stars. Would recommend.
They have the best value in town for bike services , the guys are very knowledgeable, and they always get the bikes back at a reasonable time. They only take a day or two to do what other places said they’d take a week or two to do, due to the wait time. I’ve rented from here, gotten an assembly done here on my own bike, and also tune up services.
Dropped bike off prior to Mothers Day excited to have a way to work off stress, Im an RN currently working temporarily in LA. I HOPED to pick up a refurbished bike when I returned to Atlanta and all Im getting is excuse.... The best part is Ive been told twice you can come pick your bike up if you want toWelp, Im over 1900 miles away and I trusted these guys to take care of my bike. The guy that answer the phone today said yep, that thing is over there.. Im beyond disappointed and afraid for my safety upon return of my bike. Clearly they dont care about customer service or my bike. ..I get overwhelmed, Im in healthcare, but no mention of delays or issues were said when they took my bike and agreed to hand out ready my May 10th. Im at their mercy 😷.... Feel helped and sad that costumer service is so poor. My daughter bought a bike here and had a far better experience, dont know what the change is or why Im being treated so poorly.
My family goes every year to Bike Barn to ride the Beltline. The bikes are in great shape and the staff is kind. This year my daughter took a nasty spill. The staff showed nothing but concern for her well-being and not a lick about the condition of the bike. My sincere thanks to them for their kindness.
This place is the best! I am new into the serious bike world and every small or large problem I have had, these guys fix. they are SUPER friendly and dont mind explaining what they are doing. they also are so affordable! ! I almost forgot, they literally are on the beltline with their own access, a beautiful little ares outside with tables and a sweet cat!
People at the shop are always friendly and their used bike prices are reasonable. Although, I question the quality of their work since a couple of people I know have bought bikes from them that have fallen apart. They do have a 30 day free repair period to fix most issues but the bike should be soundly fixed before sold.
Disappointed again. This management here is disorganized, bike repair takes weeks, and dont expect status updates. Dropped off my bike, told it would take a few days. Days went by, no update. I called and they said they would call back with an update. They did not - this happened twice on different days. So I went in person a few days later (3rd time trying to get an update) - the staff told me the part was here but he couldnt find my ticket and the part wasnt installed yet. Day 9 came, no call, so I called AGAIN - they told me it would be ready by the end of the day - just before closing I got that call. Today, the 10th day after dropping it off, I went to pick it up and it wasnt ready - the brakes were loose and had to adjust it right then and there - $150 and 10 days after dropping off. Let me say, there are too many other shops in Atlanta to settle for such sub-par, mediocre service. Unless management steps up their game, Ill be recommending other shops in Atlanta.
I purchased a nice, gently used Jamis Quest as a local beater bike. Great value, Tim (the owner) is super-knowledgeable, and their bike techs made quick adjustments to get me going on the new wheels in a jiffy. Ive been cycling a long time and have owned numerous bikes. These folks are legit.
#1 Seriously the best bike shop in Atlanta. Youd be crazy to go anywhere else. I made the mistake of not buying my bike here but I go to them to get it fixed and they never try to up sell me or lie to me. Everyone who works at this shop knows what theyre doing and theyre super friendly. Trustworthy. Exceptional service. Cool as hell.
Great people. I rode in with a shifter that would go 1-2-3 up but skipped 2nd gear going down. They whipped out the fix in 10 minutes and asked for nothing more than a donation in the tip jar. They know their trade and I gladly pay them more than I would at shops that charge flat rate for on-the-spot work (and of course they also do regular jobs at a rated price. I go to them for tweaks, tire changes, and disc brake pad replacements). Glad they are close to me, but even if they arent close to you, they are right on the beltline. Oh, and they seem to rent bikes. Call em.
Stopped in this morning because I was out running errands and noticed I had a flat upon leaving an appt. It was a short 0.4 miles from my location so I walked over. Diego was extremely helpful & polite. It was about a 5 minute wait to get to my bike then maybe another 10 (or less) to replace my tube. Great service and price & Im back to my day
My wife and I went there and I was looking for a bike. They were very nice and let me try out a couple. I was looking for a electric bike to use for hunting. They were very helpful and referred me to their other shop thanks where I purchased a e-bike at ElectroBike the owner is Eric Hunger He was very helpful !!!
Absolutely LOVE these guys!!! Tim and Chadwin (hope Im spelling that correctly!) fixed my brake issue in a matter of minutes and I was back on the beltline and on my way. They were so helpful and very nice!!! Im sure they will be seeing more of me as I continue to ride and break my bike. 😊
This place has got issues with toxic masculinity and misogyny. Myself and others have witnessed their employees and buddies cat calling women on the beltline and there are other more personal stories that Im not at liberty to disclose in a google review.I also bought a consignment bike there once but they didnt tell me that the rear wheel was on the verge of breaking and that Id have to replace the chain and chainrings. Anyways, I used to like them. Theyre one of the few places you can buy a used bike. But I try to avoid them now.
Omg so late on my review, I came here last Tuesday to rent a bike to go biking on the beltline for my first time and it was an amazing experience with Atlanta bicycle barn! They trust their customers, they dont hold cards, you pay when you return with the bike, thats wild haha. But yeah theyre super chill amazing business. ❤️ Thanks guys!! Ill see you soon this week.
Met some friends here for the free Beltline bike tour and we rented bikes for the day. The bikes were great and the staff was so helpful making sure everything fit and felt just right. Go early on a Saturday before they get busy, best way to see lots of the Beltline is on a Beltline Bicycle!
I WOULD RATE THEM 10 STARS IF I COULD! these guys are amazing! started out my Saturday riding around ATL with a flat. they fixed me up in no time and actually swapped some tires around rims for me and didnt try to up sell at all. just worked with what i had. spent 30 minutes fixing my issue and only charged me $10... these guys are seriously the BEST!
Last Saturday I met friends for the FREE Beltline Bicycle tour. I do not have a bike in the city so I came early to Atlanta Beltline Bicycle to rent a bike for the day.The staff there was extremely helpful and friendly. Prices were fair I thought - $15 to rent for a day. I would definitely recommend this shop to a friend. I think that they get pretty busy on the weekends so I would try to get there early. When I do get a bike in the city again, I will still think of ABB for any repairs that I might need!
Te first time I went was with my mom for Mothers Day and it was a lot of fun for all of us. My mom and sister rode a tandem bike and I ride rode a regular bike. I couldve sworn we were on it for hours but our total was $30. I went again yesterday with a group of 3 other people, we rode for 2 hours and each persons total was $10. All you have to do it leave your ID number with them to rent the bikes. They take cards and cash. They also have little child carriers that you can attach to the bike, if you have kids with you. Parking is also free and its right next to Ponce city market and krog street market.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!I walked there after work, about 2 or 3 miles, and the mechanics in the back were drinking beer - so you know they dont mind bending the rules in their favor - but could I get them to rent me a bike overnight even though I was an hour passed the rental cut-off time?I asked the mechanic, and he referred me to the french-guy; that second guy told me to wait - he needed to find out if they had any bikes available, then he went back over to the beer-drinking mechanics.Okay, Wednesday, middle of the week, and you have like, 20 rentals lined up, not being used. Like I said, they dont mind bending the rules in their favor!Horrible service; they will treat you like an idiot! BEWARE!
Bike rental. The Bicycle Barn seems to rent single gear cruiser bikes only. The handlebars in the first bike I tried did not line-up with the front tire. I think the bike would have been ok for a short jaunt on the belt line. (I had hoped to rent a bike to go out to Stone Mountain, which is just 16 miles away.)Staff was nice. Though, the person I spoke to on the phone could have saved me the experience by saying, “we rent cruiser single gear bikes. We don’t have anything for a long distance ride.”
I want to say thank you to Chatham for assembling my bike for me after Sports Authority abruptly stopped assembling bikes due to going out of business. I caught an Uber up there this morning to get it done and they had a lot of work to get done ahead of me. I told them Id wait. Chatham took the time out to assemble it and I was on my way in 3+ hours! I really appreciate it you guys!
Paid for minor tuneup. When i got home i rode. My back tire fell off my gears were rubbing and my drive train that they complimentary cleaned was dirtier than when i dropped it off as well my neck was really loose. Im not saying dont go there but just be sure to double and triple check any work performed to save you from any extra problems.
Rented bikes to ride that were obviously not maintained. Chain popped off 6 times and there was no hand break to stop without the cheap coaster/chain brake. Could have crashed. Negligent and crap bikes. Had to stop and fix bike chain myself with borrowed tools to make it back to the shop.

2022-05-29Very rude, unprofessional. Desk attendant would ignore and not help when standing directly in front of her. Standing in front of a bike just to be told that someone who walked in 15 minutes after has already “claimed” that bike.Do not recommend. Hire better staff. Unbelievable.

2020-11-16Had a front tire flat while riding on the beltine after 5. Unusual bike tire size and I was looking for a pump and couldnt find one anywhere along the Eastside beltline and figured I could make it to Ponce City Market and use theirs. Decided to check the barn for a pump and then saw their shop was closed at 5pm. Went to the front of the barn and the door was open and a young man asked if I needed air. He was there waiting on rental returns and offered to repair the front tire. Opened the shop and got the right tube and had it fixed before 6. Convenient location right off the beltine.

2022-01-061-5-2022. Rented 2 Ebikes today for my two sons so we could ride together for the day. The young man that helped us with renting them was outstanding at his job, very polite and well knowledgeable. He adjusted the derailer on my personal bike in a jiffy. What a great place and wonderful staff. I will definitely rent there again...whe the weather warms up. 🙂

2019-08-07This was such a great deal. Okay, so you drive up, park, pay, pick a bike out, and ride. We rode from the shop to piedmont park, enjoyed a few hours at the botanical gardens, then rode to Ponce City Market for food and local dives. Afterwards we checked out the skate park and headed back to the barn. Great tour to take your out of town friends on or just a date idea for your special someone.

2021-08-14After changing my tire myself, my breaks were a wreck so I took both of my e-bikes to the Bicycle Barn and the guys that helped us were totally friendly and tuned up our breaks in minutes. When they were done, they explained what they had done and the breaks worked great. Also, they added cable ties where I had cut them to swap tires without even thinking about it. Tiny details like that make a difference. The price and turnaround were excellent. We are definitely using them for all our bike repairs in the future.
