On Saturday, June 25th, we called in route to our hotel 3 hours away and was told there would be no issue checking in early. We got there to realize the lobby was full of customers waiting for rooms that were also promised to them. We had a Braves game to be at but we waited 3 1/2 hours for a room. We were told over and over that our room would be ready in 30 mins to an hour. Then we were told our room wouldnt be ready for another 2 hours. We, along with other families, had to get ready in the bathrooms. Once we got back from the game one of the families that was waiting with us was given a fan and told her that her a/c wasnt working in their room and the fan would help a little - AFTER they paid and received their keys. At this point it was around midnight. What a mess! I have never had this experience here and we have always stayed here when in Atlanta for a Braves game. I would love for the manager to get in touch with me on this. I tried to talk with a manager but was told none was available.
Our room needed some TLC for sure! The bathroom door had several patch jobs and the bottom of the door was chipped away. There is no microwave or fridge in the rooms, ok not a microwave - whatever but a fridge?!? We had no way to keep our drinks cold. There was an issue with the ice maker on our floor and apparently it flooded the hall, the carpet was wet, the next day the AC wasn’t working in the hallway so that didn’t smell great but the ice maker was repaired. Which is nice bc my daughter was told we would have to go to the 3rd floor for ice, when my daughter told her the elevator wouldn’t allow us to go above our floor (you have to scan your room key in the elevator so it closes), the front desk lady just said she didn’t know what to tell my daughter. WOW!! Great customer service! Unfortunately we have another non refundable room in a few months at this hotel, hopefully it will be a better experience, I’d prefer to cancel our upcoming stay bc we paid way too much money for a room in what’s supposed to be a nice hotel, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.ONLY plus is the amazingly nice gentleman that drove us to our destination and picked us up. Wish I could remember his name, he was so kind!!
Rooms are very small and outdated! Mold and mildew in shower and shower vent! We woke up the first night of our stay to the smell of cigarette smoke. The hotel is suppose to be non smoking. We notified the front desk and they stated they would send security up! Then five minutes later our smoke alarm started to go off. We were unable to go back to sleep. We then had to move rooms as security could not figure out which room it was coming from?! We notified the manager and she took $45 off our bill (we stayed 2 nights) so that was not significant as we were celebrating an anniversary and birthday. This hotel should not be a flagship Marriott property. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Positive: Location was Perfect. Very close to everything. Negative: The hotel did not meet the Marriott standards. The Roma done beds were small and contained no amenities. My a/c unit also did not work and it was kinda warm and uncomfortable the entire night. Beds were uncomfortable as well.
3rd time staying here will prob be the last. Decently nice place but is a cash hog. Cost more than most, pay for parking, pay for internet, no free breakfast, etc etc. Location is OUTSTANDING and walkable distance from the Braves and local restaurants around the stadium. Not too far off the interstate either. Have had an issue with either getting my room or noisey AC each visit. Rooms all either have kings or doubles which is terrible for more than 2 people. Food has been ON POINT every visit but is pricey as well. If money is not an option or if work is paying for your trip, I would highly recommend! Otherwise, I work hard for my money and.....
Unfortunately this is not a nice Marriott. I actually cant belive Marriott still brands this hotel in its current state. The hotel is very outdated and generally not nice or clean. No fridge in room. Broken mirrors in room. Rust all over in the bathroom. Poor water pressure. Generally not the best hotel. The wifi did work well. And the front desk was nice.I would not stay here again. The holiday inn express is nicer.
Terrible stay! My card was charged over $350 for what staff called a deep clean for roses and balloons. I tipped the house keeper because I did understand she would have more to clean than usual but NOWAY she took the money and the hotel still charged my card VARIOUS TIMES! I have over $300 totaling in additional fees with no help to get my money back from the hotel stafff!!!!!!!!! This is terrible business!
Just edited this to a one star because the manager said someone would be reaching out to me and they never did. Waited several months. Staff was very friendly from checking in all the way to the bar and restaurant. I honestly have NOTHING bad to say about any of the people we dealt with when talking with them, they were all very nice. Giving it two stars because of the facility room noise and not having any hot water to take a shower in on the morning of 12/14/2021. I told the front desk about the hot water and they said someone would go look at the boiler because it was probably a mechanical issue. There were 12 members of our work team staying here and only 3 of them had hot water at 6:30am. As a side note, most hotels I have stayed, the staff would offer extra points or a bar voucher or something when there was an issue with the room but this hotel just said thanks for making us aware . The one thing this place cant change is the noise level of the rooms due to being on the interstate Jake Braking trucks, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, better take a sleeping pill before staying here.
Due to construction delays, the Springhill Suites by Marriott was not able to accommodate my reservation. The Northwest Marriott in Atlanta was very gracious in fixing the problem by accomodating all amenities that would have been given at Springhill Suites. I want to especially praise Andrew who worked at the front desk, the valets, and van driver who made my elderly parents trip over to Truist Ballpark a great success. Thank you so much!
PLEASE BEWARE OF UNAUTHORIZED CARD CHARGES + OLD DATED ROOMS + INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! RECENT REVIEW FROM 12/30/21-1/02/22!!PLEASE READ IN FULL! I HAD TO DISPUTE EVERY CHARGE FROM MY STAY HERE!My stay, at say the least, was a disaster. I checked in on 12/30/21 for a two-night stay and paid for my stay upfront + the accidental fee of $50/per night. I went to the first room assigned and noticed the bathroom was dirty, the window vaulted in the unit ruined the entire view, and icing on cake: the TV didnt work at all. We were promptly moved to another room. We unpacked just to find out that the TV in that unit did not work at all. A member of the engineering staff entered the room (with a mask or face covering) to fix the TV. He stated it was a cable issue and we would have to wait until the morning of 12/31/21 to fix the issue. On 12/31/21, it was determined (after we spent a night without TV) that the TV could not be fixed. We were asked to move rooms yet again. We moved to another room and the TV worked!! However, the card scanner for the room stopped working. Another member of the engineering staff came to assess the issue. He spent an hour with my room door open while I was eating my take off food, before going out for NYE. Not to mention, I got this hotel for my partners birthday on NYE. I left to drop my partner off at a planned event (the one we got the hotel for). When I returned to the hotel, the door was shut and would not open with our belongings inside the unit. I had to wait an hour for them to physically drill through the door in order for me to retrieve our stuff + get ready for an event I was already late to.We were moved to the concierge level on the 16th floor. We we arrived to the room later that night, the balcony door did not open + the room had cold water. It was now 4:30am on 1/1/22. I approached the night auditor about it, and received horrible customer service has he refused to move us to another room as the issue could wait until the morning. A security personnel had to get involved to get us a new room. The night auditor explained that he was not sure if there were other rooms available. The security personnel brought us keys to the room beside us at 5:40am on 1/1/22. This room was the best room we had throughout our entire stay. The hotel did gift us a free additional night as I was told. However, at checkout the desk agent had no idea I paid upfront. They charged me $20+ dollars then I paid upfront even with a free night. I was informed that the $15/per night for parking would come out of the $50/per night accidental fee. However, they kept my card on file and charged it for an additional $15 and $4 and $50.
I booked this room for my sons 9th bday trip. It was an amazing room. Our first room had a tv that didnt work. Without hesitation, they moved us to another room. And this was all at 1am in the morning. The only downside to this hotel is that they dont have microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms. The hotel is the perfect distance from downtown Atlanta and its also directly across from the Braves stadium. We will definitely be returning soon.
Stayed for a braves game. Great location and offered a shuttle to go to the game but not for pickup. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly. Only drawback was that even a continental breakfast was not included. I think coffee available in the lobby is an industry standard, especially for such a nice place. 3.00 for drip coffee in the lobby.. not great.
The room was out dated with Scratched furniture. Old carpet . For the price and location I definitely expected a more modern, nicer room . The breakfast was okay . The staff was friendly and very accommodating. My only dislike is the room. Need a fresh makeover indeed !
We have issue after issue and wont return to this hotel. Im a Marriott Member as I travel for work and have chosen This hotel brand because I’ve had wonderful experiences elsewhere. For this hotel being in Atlanta, close to Truist park, you would think the hotel would be in top notch. My family, 2 adults and 2 children were placed in a room with one king bed room, at the farthest end of the hotel from the lobby. We explained we were coming to town for the Braves game and during reservations, we were assured our accommodation requests would be met. In the first room, there was a musty odor when you opened the door. There was some type of dark staining on the ceiling. The requested roll away cot and the refrigerator was not in our room. We had to move rooms which took 30 minutes after no one would answer the front desk phone. My husband had to walk down to the front desk, talk to staff etc. second room at least had 2 double beds. There was no exhaust fan in bathroom, which caused excess steam in the bathroom. The paint was peeling off the bathroom ceiling. The rooms need upgrading as well as the hotel. It’s unfortunate i spent a good chunk of my rewards point for a less than clean room.
Week of Thanksgivings. Edited this post so it changed post date. I should have known by the experience the lady in front of me was having but I was too tired to pay full attention to her issues. I got my room key & left. (Clue #1) Exiting the vehicle I noticed a shipping cart at breezeway. I went upstairs with my daughter and could not get the door open. It was late & freezing. I had my daughter to try the door, she could not get the door open. (Clue #2) There were cops everywhere on foot and in black SUVs. I went to the front desk to tell them about my problems and I had to wait 20 minutes for the receptionist to return. (Clue#3) Meanwhile, the lady that was previously at the desk was there again with a problem in her room. She asked the receptionist for new linen and blanket. The police had scared her when they captured somebody right outside her door yelling and screaming at someone to get on the ground and tazing somebody. She was eating and was startled spilling her drink all over the bed. The receptionist informed her that housekeeping was closed at night therefore she could not get her another blanket or extra bedding. The receptionist gave her a sheet but did not even ask offer her another room or anything. Then it was my turn. I told the receptionist about the problem with the door. She had a ear piece on or something and began talking to someone else telling them about the problem. She then asked if I had pulled the handle up instead of down and stated that the maintenance had installed some of the room doorhandles mechanism upside down. (Wow) I said No and Im not going backup there to do it. Just please give me my refund so I can leave. I could not get out of their quick enough. Grabbed my family and drove straight through the 300 miles left to go in trip.
When we came to check-in, there was a complete network failure. The way the staff handled it was impressive and very professional (manually assigning rooms and a staff member escorting us to our room since there were no keys). I commend them for this. Our actual room, although clean, had a very noisy air conditioner, so the sleep experience was not all that great. We did not bother to ask to change rooms due to all the problems already encountered with the computer systems being down. We just had to take a loss for one night. Again, no hard feelings, it just is what it is...thanks,Nick
My family and I had a good stay recently for a trip to Truist Park. We were able to check in before the ballgame, take the shuttle to the park and take a nice evening walk back to the property with only a 15 minute walk. The room was clean. The facility in general was clean, though dated. We noticed the property is undergoing construction in the back, which is much needed. The pool area was very small, but we were able to use it even though it was a bit crowded. The staff was very friendly. Online check-in/check-out made our trip super easy. We will definitely be back.
This Marriott is outdated and overpriced. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. You have to request a refrigerator and they have a limited supply. Overall the facility is dirty. Cobwebs in corners and hanging off of lights with spiders. The basement is moist and damp with missing ceiling tiles and stained ceiling tiles. The pool was untenable you cannot see through the water.During my stay my room lock stopped working twice not permitting me to use my key to enter. The whole facility needs a maintenance overhaul. The staff was friendly however they did not follow up with requests.Overall facility needs to be completely redone and attention to detail during the daily cleaning especially in the common places.
Room did not feel very clean. Bathroom ceiling was peeling and cracking, it was pretty ugly looking. Complimentary coffee would have been nice especially for the price point of the room. Definitely not what I expected from a Marriott property. Staff was super nice and polite.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, and on those occasions I never thought of writing a review until now. The hotel’s amenities are barely adequate for a Marriott. I couldn’t find information on when the last time the hotel was renovated but you can tell that the hotel needs a facelift. When I checked into the hotel the hotel staff was nice and courteous and the check in process was quick and expedite. After that however, thats where everything went downhill.I got to my room, which was a standard king size bedroom, took a shower and noticed that there was mold starting to grow on the ceiling. This was because the exhaust fan for the bathroom was inoperable. As it was already late at night I decided to tell management in the morning. When I got back to my room in the afternoon I had notice that nothing had been done. I went back up to the front desk, nothing was noted in the system, but they did get changed my room. After changing rooms to another standard king size room I decided to go out to eat for dinner. When I came back to the hotel, their whole parking lot was full. While they have a massive parking lot, most of it is blocked off for private property or for the Braves games and hotel guest are left with a small portion. I was forced to valet my car, and it is unclear if I’m going to have to pay for it later.During my stay, I did eat at the restaurant/bar and the food was less than adequate with a very limited menu.I think that Marriott is losing out on an opportunity because of the proximity to the new Braves Stadium. I believe that a reinvestment in this hotel would be fruitful if given the right opportunity.
OKAY.... BUT NOT WORTH THE $$$Honestly writing my review too remind myself to never book at this location. Rooms have no microwave and the tiny refrigerator was isolated on the floor like a piece of broken down bedroom furniture. The bathtub sink drain was broken in this room (#611). Called in the maintenance man and he goes to telling me how difficult it was too fix!?! We were moved to another room (smaller in than original) and had the same issue again only with a different drain stopper (#603). Didnt feel like continuing to complain so I decided to live with it. Then I noticed that this room did not even a refrigerator?!?!Great location. Nice staff. Clean room with hot shower. HOWEVER, common amenities were missing, things did not work as they should, and problems werent properly addressed when brought to attention. Disappointed
It appeared that the check-in staff was not prepared for the crowd for the Braves game, were very stressed out and short with us. No one told us about having to ask to have the room cleaned, so it wasnt, which was a problem since there were no towel racks ???? in the room, so towels ended up on the floor and which we had to use again. The sink was the right size for a 5 year old, it was so low.The room was below standard for the price we paid, to say the least. Needs update badly. All in all very disappointed in this Marriott property. The bed was quite comfortable, which we were pleased about. But truthfully, thats about all we were pleased with.
This hotel is very outdated. Needs a lot of upgrades. I was a able to hear man staying next door whole conversation through the air vent in the restroom. I have never experienced that. They also needs to step up their game on cleaning. I thought because it was a Marriott that their cleaning would be good but boy was I wrong. Thank goodness I brought Clorox wipes and spray to cleaning everything down. Overall very disappointed would never stay there again.
1. Valet service was unprofessional, unwelcoming, slow.2. Probably the worst room of any Marriott I have ever stayed in. Dirty, terrible bed, cheap sheets, small bathroom. Overall I just felt unclean the entire stay. 3. We were there with a group for a girls soccer tourney and the hotel F&B manager gave us pushaback because we ordered pizzas and wanted to sit in the lobby and eat together. There were signs everyone saying no outside food. I have traveled all over the U.S. and have never seen a hotel that was so paranoid about patrons not eating their food. The F&B manager was very rude and should not be aloud to dictate what I order or where I eat. I definitely didnt want to go to my unclean room.4. Hotel policy was that room cleaning was not mandatory and we had to request it every morning. Even then we had to ask several times to get maid service to clean our room. Overall, not a very good look for Marriott
Great staff. Within walking distance of Truist Field or the shuttle runs every few minutes. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. My only negative is website said no parking fee but we were charged. Probably because it was game day and the charge was more than reasonable so I didn’t complain. Definitely recommend for games and will stay here again.
Worst experience we’ve ever had at a hotel. First of all we called ahead and said we’d be pulling a small U-Haul trailer and asked where we could park it. “There is no parking for that.” “Okay, what do you suggest we do?” “I don’t know.” “Okay then we’ll figure it out when we get there.” So we arrive and there’s plenty of parking. We also checked in on the mobile app on the way at 4:00. We arrive at 5:30 to check in and get ready for the game that starts at 7:00. We were told our room wasn’t ready and that it wouldn’t be until after the game. We had to get ready and change clothes in the bathroom in the lobby of the hotel. We ask for a discounted rate and are told there’s nothing they can do. We get back after the game, get our key, and head up to a dirty room that hadn’t been cleaned. We then go back down, stand in line again behind other unsatisfied customers and ask for another room. At 11 pm we finally get into a suitable room. C’mon, Marriott. Do better than this!
I called to confirm with the hotel on two separate occasions that the shuttle to the ball park was available and was told twice-by two different people that It was. When we checked in we were told it was not available. THEN as we were huffing it up the sidewalk in 80 degree weather we saw the shuttle drive by us.. ALSO, we were ran out of the pool area and told it was not available for use. Last, the single USB charging port did not work and I was not able to charge my phone for the duration of my trip. This was unbelievable and made the trip very inconvenient. Breakfast was overpriced and dining area was cramped. There was no continental breakfast like I was expecting. It was sit down and $50 for three of us (eggs and potatoes). Fan in the bathroom didn’t work. But the employees were very kind and courteous. The hobby is well kept and exceptionally clean. It served the purpose mostly but fell short of my expectations of a Marriott.
The room was average, nothing to complain about, except the bathroom was pretty small. The parking situation was ridiculous and paying for parking while you’re already staying at the hotel is uncalled for. The staff was great, the food/cafe was awesome, and the fitness center and pool were amazing!!
No TV for several days. This is an old property bathroom door is about 28 wide so tight squeeze if you have broad shoulders. The bathroom is very tight. The carpet is nasty in my opinion. Shower is hard to regulate temperature the faucet control just flops around. Goes super hot then cool so frustrating. Breakfast is 16.00 ridiculous for the offering. Thier is a restaurant ordered a burger it was not thoroughly cooked. It wouldnt be a choice for me again
Hotel just felt old. I had to get on the floor in the bathroom to fix the sink drain. Gym was really nice for a Marriott and I enjoyed that. Not hot tub. I think this hotel was probably a nice hotel when it was new but it is in need of a remodel. There was no maid service for 4 days, I guess we are still blaming Covid...
This location is perfect for a Braves game. You are a short and easy walk from the park. But the rooms are small and they desperately need updating. We could hear the room next door and quiet conversations in the hallway - so the doors are pretty thin. I’m fact, we had to pull our door tightly shut every time or else it wouldn’t close. They recently updated the fitness center and it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The beds are Fulls, not Queens... just a heads up. Good water pressure and the tub drained. The hallway had standing water in it from some poor architectural detailing or maintenance. The hotel was aware of this because at the far end there were some industrial fans running. The carpet was wavy from the water. I was happy the hotel had free breakfast but starting it at 6:00a would be very helpful if kids sports teams are staying. With 8:00a starts there is no time to eat.
We found the staff welcoming and efficient at check-in. The lobby area was very attractive. However, our room was not up to Marriott standards. There were plumbing issues with the bathroom sink and paint peeling on the ceiling and the door in the bathroom. We chose this Marriott because of its proximity to Truist field and we are in town to watch baseball games. However, after returning to the hotel after the Monday night game and looking forward to some drinks at your bar, we were advised that the bar closed at 11 PM and we only had time for one drink. Hard to believe that a bar would close that early on a game night.
The staff at the hotel are so nice and very helpful. I had an issue accessing my Marriott Bonvoy account. I mentioned it to the associate at the front desk, I told him that I must be doing something wrong, he said bring your PC down here to the lobby and Ill take a look at it. He spent almost 15 minutes with me while other associates covered the desk for him. He identified the issue I was having, obtained the correct information I needed and I was able to access my account. You often hear things like the strength of an organization are its people or an organization is judged by its people well, at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria, thats not a cliché. What the associate did for me, may have been a little thing, but his offer to help me, without me really even asking, the time he spent, - it just made everything during my stay in Atlanta seem so much nicer to me. Thank you.
Location was good, room was clean. Staff art front desk was very friendly. Outside noise was very loud. (Airplanes, construction and traffic.) Concierge Lounge was not open. Breakfast was okay. The food at breakfast was good but the process was unclear. After I stood around for a few minutes, a staff member said I looked confused. Not the best way to greet a guest. Service was okay. Glad the breakfast was complimentary.
This property was really unacceptable, no food available other than the ‘market’ that has just junk food, no valet parking though it clearly says it’s available and the room condition was run down and not clean. How you can call this a Marriott I’ll never understand. Most of the staff I encountered didn’t care - mostly blank stares and shrugs…
Loved that this hotel was within walking distance from Truist Ballpark and they have the most charismatic and helpful staff of any hotel we have stayed on (and we do travel a lot). The rooms may need fresh paint and the bathrooms could be updated, but everything was in working order and the staff cheerful, profesional and kind treatment made us feel at home. Would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely wonderful experienceThe staff are just so incredibly friendly here. The lady that checked us in made us feel very welcome. The staff in the restaurant located inside are just as friendly. We stayed for a Braves/Yankees game. They had a shuttle back and forth from the game. We will definitely be staying here again!!
Got their early and system had crashed, after waiting 2hrs, they had to manually let us into our rooms. Had to fill out a paper sheet with information. Once inside the room, the room smelled rustic and old, stains on one of the sheets on bed, the bathroom ceiling had water spots and ceiling was pilling off. After game the system was still crashed and the room keys they gave us still didn’t work, they had to manually enter us in our rooms. They staff was good and did the best they could with the situation.
Its a hotel with a big name.Room looked clean and presentable when checking in.The staff are always been very professional and courteous.Highway side of the hotel is a bit too loud all night for my liking.I dont like that half the rooms have very tiny fridges (and the others dont have one) and that there is only one microwave on the property.
A leader among Atlanta Hoteliers: best service; best food; and best hospitality! Eric at Registration was very helpful, gracious and guided us with directions, restaurants suggestions and general information throughout our stay! Kudos, also, for fantastic and personal service goes to the Valet Crew, Shuttle Drivers, Restaurant Staff, Bar Crew and Housekeeping Personnel! We found the Marriott Hotel to be very professionally staffed and managed that provided impeccable service, friendliness and superb food & drink! The Marriott Hotel is also very conveniently located near Truist Baseball Stadium, Battery Park, Restaurants and other Venues! A local gem Hotel! Highly recommended!
What makes the hotel exceptional is the people. Every hotel usually has friendly staff. But these folks are not just going through the motions. I didnt even have a car, but the valets didnt care. Josh out front learned my name and always had an upbeat greeting for anyone coming or going. Andrew at the bar made it feel comfortable and like a house rather than a hotel. All of my interactions from housekeepers, super helpful counter agents and the people working in the restaurant were uplifting. The hotel itself wont blow you away, but the people that work there sure will! I always choose to stay there when I come to Atlanta.
Would not recommend. They renovated the lobby, but the rooms are old, beat up, kinda dirty, and small. They also cant seem to figure out how to program their key cards. Had to go back to the front desk 3 times before I could get in my room. Once I finally got in the room, the AC was off. Its August so the room was about 85 degrees. Really unimpressed. Ive stayed at Best Westerns for half the price that are nicer.
My terrible experience all began on Friday, April 16 at about 2:30 when I attempted to check in to the hotel. The front desk clerk at that time was a female who very rudely stated, “I am not honoring early check-ins at this time because our system is down. You will just have to come back later.“ I did as I was told left the property and returned again at 4 o’clock only to be told again that I could not check into the hotel at that time. Since I had plans for the evening with friends that I was visiting, I went their house to shower and enjoy my evening with them. I returned to the hotel at about 10:30 PM to attempt to try to check in for a third time. As soon as I parked my car and exited the car a gentleman from valet parking said very angrily, “I need your keys,” to which I responded, “ Just as soon as I get checked into the hotel, if I get checked in, I will be glad to give you my keys.” At which time this young man jumped in front of me put his hands on my shoulders and said, “ you will not be entering this hotel tonight unless I have your keys.“ I asked him to please remove his hands from my body and I tried to explain that as soon as I could get checked in,if I could get checked in since I had already attempted check in twice that day, I would be more than glad to give him my keys when I returned to get my belongings out of my car after I had been assigned my room at the hotel. Once again, he position himself between me and the door to enter the hotel and pointed to a security guard and said “if I need to have you arrested I will but you’re not going into this hotel until I get your keys.” At that point in time an older member of the valet parking team came over and explained to me that he just needed to hold my keys because they couldn’t have a car parked so that it would block others from getting in and out of the hotel drop off area. With his explanation, I understood why they needed my keys and gladly gave him the keys with his promise that he would not move the car until we were checked in and had a room assignment. Upon entering the lobby, I was confronted with a long line of guest attempting to check in to the hotel. The delay was because the system was still down and there was only one clerk station available to check guest into the hotel. Management had no plan for crowd control or for management of this large crowd awaiting check in for their room. Saturday, room was not serviced!
Twice we have been required to stay here as a group. And both occasions were completely unsatisfactory. Our stay was for a week, no cleaning service unless you contact front desk to request, not even simple dumping tiny trash cans on the daily. Had to get trash bags from front desk to dump trash. Had to go to front desk for fresh towels and most times they didn’t have enough. There was no refrigerator in room even though we were told there would be. When we asked for one we’re told they had none. Seriously this is 2021 how do you not have a small fridge in each room? Only one microwave in the whole hotel and it was tucked away in the little “convenience mart” of the lobby. Seriously? The pool was green and disgusting. Very disappointed in this Marriott.
This property has a great location, food and customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, the property feels like a full service location from the mid 2000s, The room furniture are dated, the bed not comfortable, and the elevators are worn-down. Even our rooms pluming (sink drain) was very slow. The pool was not clean so that was not a option. The location has so much potential, if renovated it would be a pleasant place to rebook.
Our stay was bearable at best. My room was not acceptable for a platinum member. All furniture was in need of replacement, dresser smelled musty and room smelled of old smoke. View from window was of roof top with construction very disappointing. Understand the industry has been devastated by Covid but I as a guest should be able to expect some compensation for lack of amenities and or service. An attempt to make our stay pleasurable would have been greatly appreciated
The stay was not what I expected for staying with a marriot. Not the most comfortable bed. But aside from that, room was small, no fridge/microwave, outdated decor/carpet, my ice machine was broken on my floor and the doors were extremely hard to open to other levels to obtain ice, and the pool was on maintenance the entire weekend. Had I realized more of these details before booking I would not have stayed here. Not a good place for the price! However was a good location to everything.
Came into town on a Sunday and I asked and was told that I had to pay for parking. No problem as I understand that. I was told that I needed to use my room key to open the barrier to get in. When I go out to move my Jeep to the parking area, I noticed that the barrier was down so anyone could park here. It looked like it was hit or something. No big deal. Come to find out, all of the visitors for the ball game that night for the Braves, were parking there at no cost. Again, the barrier was down, so no big deal. The next day, it was back up, however, you didnt need a room key to get in or out. The same on the following day. When I checked out, I asked about this, and was told that it was being updated and I wouldnt get my money back for the parking. I feel that me being honest about it, instead of just parking, they should have at least offered me a refund on the parking due to the ability that anyone could park there. The staff was extremely rude and felt like that they should not have been bothered. I commonly visit this hotel for work and visits, but not anymore. They have lost my business from now on.
Front desk staff was totally unorganized. Different people telling us different things at check in. Room was not ready till 6pm. There was mildew on the bathroom walls and damage on the ceiling that needed to be fixed. We were told we were in a room with a fridge but had to request one after getting in the room. The shuttle for the hotel did not run on a regular basis (2 out of 6 days) The only saving grace was the staff working the breakfast area. Very friendly and professional. I expect more from a Marriott especially for the price we paid. Very disappointed.
I was accommodated from check in to check out from the entire staff. They were always friendly, welcoming, and helpful with everything I needed although I really didn’t need much at all. The location was perfect for me as I was traveling out of state to watch some baseball. The shuttle service was amazing at all times for me at the hotel was clean and modern and very nice. I will absolutely stay at this hotel again when I come to Atlanta.
Again, as a Marriott member since the 80’s, this location was the worst as far as accommodations & check in service at front desk. On day 2 of my 2 night stay, I finally received a refrigerator. A tiny square fridge which he set directly into the floor. I’ve never stayed st a Marriott that didn’t have refrigerators, so the 1st night we drank our water & gatorade room temperature. That was the last visit I will have with my son because I’m having major surgery in 10 days. I normally reserve a Kung bed but this trip I asked for 2 beds, as I don’t sleep with my son! Because of this, even though I used Marriott points, your front desk didn’t even say a word about my long term Membership. While at the front desk upon check in I asked for a room near the elevator. They gave me a room at the opposite end of the hall from elevator. That’s excellent service - NOT! In short, I would never stay there or recommend there for my friends & family who come into town for Braves games.
I liked the room as just a spot for my wife and I. It was a little pricier than I would have preferred, but it was close to Truist Park which was the reason for our visit. I didnt have any issues with the staff. They were even helpful in locating my wifes wallet which she left behind. I just wish health and safety protocols had been followed and enforced.
This was a horrible experience from the moment I walked into the lobby, greeted by a large, obnoxiously loud group loitering at 1:15am. Ive been traveling 20+ hrs, Im exhausted; the chip card isnt reading, my magnetic stripe wasnt reading. I booked the 3 night reservation through Bonvoy, the account/card is real-time. I asked if I could get rest and we could straighten it out in the morning, No. I used another card, it wouldnt go through. I checked bank balances, showed the check in clerk, plenty of money. He then asked for my card, keying in the number. I asked him to please stop, knowing my bank had likely implemented fraud freeze. Again, Im Elite member, 3 night stay, tomorrow? He left, 10 later comes back with the night manager? She asks for my card, immediately runs it! I asked her to stop! She then lectures me about travel, bank/travel itineraries... Really?! Again, no, you cant check in, youll have to call your bank. My phone was dead. The staff watched me open my suitcase in the lobby, dig through for a phone charger, plug it in and wait for enough juice to boot. Wells Fargo customer service hold, 25 minutes. The staff watched me in frustration, anger, tears of exhaustion. Ive never been so humiliated, treated so disrespectfully. There is so much more to this stay(s) that was so wrong...everything about this property, the staff is a Marriott embarrassment.
Was not mentioned by hardly anyone or reviews on many of travel sites for hotels near Tuist Park. But found this the night before traveling. Will now recommend to anyone. Easy walk to the park. They also provide a free shuttle to and from. The driver was very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable!! The hotel is a little outdated on some things but hands down would stay every time I attended a Braves game
The hotel was overbooked, which created issues starting with our checking in through our checkout. The hotel was grossly understaffed; the rooms were dated and extremely dated and small. I had to request a mini-fridge four times before we received one for our room. The laundry facilities, air conditioning, and bathrooms were functioning at 50%. I called Marriott Corporate about our stay and was told that they would address my situation. It is has been over a week, and I have not received an update to address my concerns. I am disappointed in the accommodations and service for a hotel affiliated with the Atlanta Braves. I do not recommend staying at this hotel in its current condition.
Location to Truist Park is excellent however overall experience this stay was very poor. Room was in basement and was old and smelled. No housekeeping service since we didnt stay 3 days. Took 2 phone calls and over 2 hours just to get clean towels. We have stayed at this hotel many times and this was by far our worst stay.
This hotel has no microwaves, no refrigerators, the pool is broke, the elevator is broke, there are only four washing machines and two washer are broke. Rooms are small and beds are uncomfortable. With having 14 floors and this many people in one hotel it should be better kept. The bottom floor at the exit door has water on it and the smell of mildew and it lingers up the stairs. Way over priced just because it’s close to the Braves field! Way under staffed and takes along time to get anyone on the phone. I feel sorry for the staff because there hands are tied. The staff is friendly and polite but doesn’t makeup for the overall stay.
Expensive rates with ancients, small nasty rooms. No refrigerator. No microwave. No breakfast unless you want to pay 16.00. The list goes on and on WHY YOU SHOULDNT MAKE RESERVATIONS WITH THIS LOCATION. IM SHOCK MARRIOTT IS ALLOWING THIS. I have never stayed in a Marriott property of such Coffee maker was there but it didnt work.. The staff did give a free bottle of water at checkin if the staff was friendly I would have given them a 0 to let other travelers be aware.
Hotel is old and in dire need of renovation! All rooms are small and carpets are dirty! Although hotel is no smoking there were strong smell of Marijuana on the 6th floor! Bed sheets and comforters were dirty and werent replaced! Bathroom shower curtains were torn and bathrooms are really small! 2 beds room have full size beds and not queen! The customer service was good and water pressure! Thats about it was good for this hotel!
The best hotel in the Battery area. This was the second time we stayed here and this time was better than the first because Steve (Front Desk Agent) was extremely accommodating. We reserved a high floor with a city view and called prior to arriving to request a balcony. At that time we were assigned a room on the 4th floor. Once we got there Steve got us a room on a high floor with the city view and a balcony. He was really friendly and we had a great conversation with him as he checked us in. He explained where the restaurant and vending machines were and told us to call if we needed anything. We couldn’t have been happier with the room...thanks to Steve.
The hotel is nice but the room should have been cleaner than it was. I asked them to change all of the sheets because there were dirty pillow cases.Dust is normal but I would have expect there to be less on the tables considering all of the rooms should be spotless. Additional holds on our card is why I am rating this hotel 3 stars and because of the sheets. The front desk staff that I interacted with were nice and professional.
Stay elsewhere. Furniture is ripped and dirty. Beds King Deluxe Room booked for 4. had 4 pillows 1 bed. size of a Regular King. Terrible Mattress and linen. Not like a Marriott at all sub standard at best. Your room is over looking busy highway. They did finally give us a room with 2 beds so kids did not have to sleep on floor! Full size beds! OMG REALLY BAD. Pictures will show truth.
Very clean, very nice hotel. My only issue was the breakfast, I felt that it was slightly overpriced for what you received. If you are going to a Braves game, this hotel cannot be beat. It is within easy walking distance to Truist Stadium. The rooms are well maintained and very nice. I especially enjoy the fact that you can sign in to your account and watch Youtube and Netflix on the TVs in the room. The staff was very nice and very friendly.
The rooms didnt have a microwave. We brought food from the cafeteria and the way the food is sold....its like for a family of 4. They dont give small pizzas or 6 piece wings. They only have large every thing. Very expensive for them not to have a microwave in the room to reheat the food. The rooms are very small...We could literally hear whats going on in the other room and someone from the other room was trying to get into our room. I didnt feel safe. The internet was terrible. Which we had to pay for.The cable channels was horrible.. Breakfast wasnt even free 15 per person..Worst experience ever.😡
My family and I stayed here for one night while we were on a road trip. The room looked like it needed a deep cleaning. Bathroom had water damage and looked old..could see mold in cracks. Did not really feel comfortable taking a shower in there. I probably wouldnt be back. I love marriott but this was a miss
First time staying at this hotel and I must say I am completely disappointed. I’ve been here for two nights and I had hot water only one night plus the main elevators are not working so you have to use a service elevator that takes forever. I am think of checking out early and getting a different hotel.
The hotel felt old and outdated. The AC throughout was horrible. The lobby was muggy and hot. Hallways where room was located was freezing. Then our room felt damp. The sheets felt damp. Very humid in the room even as it started to coolOff a little. I requested king beds and ended up with two doubles in both rooms. It is technically walking distance to truist park but it’s a 20 minute walk each way.
I am a Marriott Titanium member and have stayed there several times, because my company puts us there. This place is a dump. They dont keep it clean, the rooms are noisy, as nice as the staff is, they are nonethelss indifferent to guest needs. There are plenty of places to stay in this area. Cross it off your list.
The Atlanta Marriott Northwest is an excellent place to stay for fun times at Truist Park. A very easy walk to and from the Battery. Great service! Some may say it is a little dated. Yes, there is minor wear on some of the furniture, but overall it is very nice, comfortable, safe and a great value!!!
They couldn’t find my reservations, we waited almost one hour. Manager was screaming at us and said we shouldn’t book through a third party, and this is why they couldn’t find my reservations. We were so tired, and we couldn’t get a room. We spend 55 minutes with the staff looking for a reservation. We finally went to our room, we had 2 full size bed, we called the front desk and asked if they could switch our room to a king size bed. Which will gladly paid for. She said it’s only for members, and I told her I was a Marriott Bonvoy member..Ms Epps the manager at the Marriott told us she cannot accommodate us to another room with a king size bed. We told her we would pay for it. She said negative, and after two hours of asking and pleading for a room with a king size bed, she told us she wanted us to leave the hotel, and will gladly refund the money. I told her that’s not what we wanted, at this time my husband just left the front desk and said nothing. Ms Epps told me, I am going to give you back your money. I told her I was tired after a long flight from the West coast she didn’t care. Now I had to go back upstairs to collect our belongings. The manager was rude, no customer service skills, her jacket was three size big, wrinkle, and her hair needed a touch up. She doesn’t represent the brand. I spoke of her appearance because I am a female and I know how one should look as a manager especially “The MarriottI grew up knowing that Marriott was one of the best hotel.NOT THIS MARRIOTT ANYWAY…She made us feel unwelcome, and I’m husband and I were there to celebrate our anniversary .The good thing about this hotel it’s the location.I will advise the owner Mr. Fleming, more training on appearance for your staff and manager. Your customer are the life of your “Hospitality business”.
Positive: Location and the Valet guys were the most friendly Negative: Upon checking in my room was not ready one the lady was not nice at all. Driving four hours with children was enough they tired and had to wait an hour are less for the room to be cleaned but upon entering the room nothing special. Guest were LOUD
Overall, stay was disappointing. Housekeeping never made up my room even after several requests. Asked maintenance to replace missing bulb and put closet door back on track. Fixed door never replaced bulb. Rooms are looking worn. Carpets are dirty and worn. Hotel just didnt feel clean.
We couldn’t have been happier with the room thanks to Steve.😁😁👍🏽
Upon arriving at 4:30 pm, our room was not ready for check in. We had to leave our luggage in the vehicle and were unable to freshen up after an 8 hour drive before going to the Braves game. After the game when we returned at 10:30 pm, we had to again wait and the gentleman behind the counter was unnecessarily rude and I accommodating.
Had no free wi-fi. Was woken up every morning by the construction on the roof right outside our window. Asked for the room to be cleaned and it never was. On last day looked up and noticed mold all along ceiling of the bathroom. The bathroom walls were even more disturbing. Its like it was never cleaned before we showed up!
Stayed here for proximity to The Battery. It’s about a 15 minute walk, there are shuttles offered and pedi-bikes that bring people to the field on game day. Hotel was clean, but there is only two elevators so the lobby was packed after the game let out. Our room did not have a mini fridge, so left overs were wasted. Will probably stay at another hotel if we stay more than one night.
Staff did not clean my room my whole stay even when I requested it. I ran out of towels & had to request more. Wi-Fi was not working. I was charged $115 stating I used wi-fi . When I booked at this hotel I was told I would get complimentary breakfast & I never heard of any hotel charging for wi-fi supervisor was unknowledgeable & not good for business at all. I would NEVER stay here or any other Marriot hotel again.
We stayed one night here for a Braves game. Very convenient to Truist Park, about .75 mile walk from here with sidewalks and walking bridge. Giving two stars because it wasnt up to Marriott standards. The hallway carpet outside of the 4th floor elevator had waves in it almost tripping my wife and I. The room had water spots in the ceiling, paint chipping off the door, toilet was crooked, and the back porch was filthy. We asked for a high floor and a king weeks before coming, got the fourth floor and double beds. Good thing was, it was only a one night stay.
Positive: Location !!! Walked to Truist Park, felt safe. Your front desk personnel are OUTSTANDING, please see below fir the low staff rating. Negative: The bartender that worked the night of 5/26 around 10:30 pm is in the wrong line of work. It was made very clear to us that we were an inconvenience. No eye contact, no smile. It really tainted our experience. Not a true reflection of your property.
Made this a stop to break up a long drive. Booked here because I thought this would be a beautiful hotel for my family and friends but turns out it was a complete waste of my free night certificate and my points I used to book the rooms. Upon arrival the pool was closed, pictures misleading, no notice of closure prior to booking that pool was closed. This past experience makes me rethink future trips.
We had a great weekend trip! Traveling for a concert and some business. The hotel was great! We used the valet service so we did not have to fight for a parking space as the Braves had a home game and the hotel was booked solid. Check in was easy. We loved our room; very clean, comfortable, and we had a surprise-our room had a balcony! As we had arrived later in the evening we stayed in and went to the hotel bar The Rocks. Very nice, great drink selection, and our waitress was wonderful! We enjoyed it so much we went back the 2nd night after the concert!Great for the value- we will be back!
My experience was not as expected. The room provided did not have a city view as my booking stated. The ice machine was out of service on my floor and surround floors. I had to go to the restaurant bar and retrieve ice. Was expecting an overall more pleasurable experience.
I am a Marriott Platinum Elite Member. Also a Lifetime Gold Elite Memeber. I have spent more than 500 nights in Marriott properties over the past few years. This one is probably not the worst, but I cant recall one that beats it. No concierge lounge or services (keep milking that Covid Excuse!) No pool. The health club is a large, mostly empty room with 3 bikes and a set of kettle bells. The restaurant was staffed by two very disinterested ladies (we know...Covid! Cant find help!) The property it self is a shambles and my room was dated and dirty. You know what is another casualty of Covid? My loyalty to the Marriott brand. It aint what it used to be and its become obvious in just my few trips this year that they simply dont care.
Room was dirty and bathroom is falling apart. Toilet won’t even flush. Stains on doors and throughout. Very icky. Sheets don’t smell fresh. They smell like prison sheets. People outside are always loitering and people inside the lobby are loud. Customer service in the morning was okay but customer service in the evening is not exactly the greatest. They could use some work. I could have paid less and stayed at extended stay or something... the quality of this place is the same as any 50 dollar hotel. Extremely disappointed and feel cheated.
Me and my friends booked this hotel for our stay in Atlanta. The lobby was beautiful but is nothing compared to the room. The pictures on the site are very misleading. As soon as we walked in we were all disappointed. The carpet was dirty, everything was dusty, linens hadn’t been changed and it was just disgusting in the room to be honest. We didn’t stay in there 20 minutes before we checked out and found another hotel to stay in.
I stayed here 4 nights for a work trip. Before booking this hotel, I researched it online. I read that the pool was newly renovated and reopened on April 1st. Their website does not mention the pool in the amenities, so I called to confirm that the pool was available. The picture of the pool that I saw on google, is not what the pool looks like now. The pool was an indoor/outdoor pool. The inside half of it has been filled in with cement and the glass wall is currently plywood. On the brighter side of my stay, the staff is extremely friendly. They have greeted me in passing in the halls. They have also greeted me when passing through the lobby in the mornings and in the evenings. The lounge, Rock, can be very busy after the Braves games have ended. There was a gentlemen bar tending on the first night that I was there. He was very personable and made conversation with the guests at the bar. I ate two meals in the lounge during my stay, Blackened Salmon and Maine Lobster Mac and Cheese. Both were excellent!I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again in the future.
Extremely disappointed with how we were treated at this Marriott. Front desk was not fully prepared and I wasn’t impressed about how the outage was handled. Only 1 key per room was allowed when I had a second guest staying in the room. Being a bonvoy elite member I expect better service!
As a single Dad very very close to my two daughters, they took me on a Braves game trip for my Birthday! So we spend my Birthday at the Marriott and it was exceptional in everyway! Close walk to the Braves stadium and all the restaurant s and bars. We will return and stay there again!! The best choice!!
My boyfriend and I asked the front desk if there were any rooms available, to which one of the staff members said no. Of course we weren’t going to give up since it was already 1 AM and we had been on the road ALL day, exhausted. When we called 5 minutes prior asking if there was any availability, the person on the other line said yes and that there were a few king beds left. My boyfriend went to ask for the SECOND time since we figured something was off here or that we were being denied service. The guy at the front desk lets us know there’s “miraculously” one king left for $200. Not only was that a nightmare to go through and beyond rude that we were lied to about the occupancy of the hotel, but the ROOM itself was nowhere near a reflection of the price we paid. Surprised to know how little this place cares about sanitation during the middle of a pandemic, dirty bed sheets. Little room with no space to walk, no free amenities, and the water barely came out of the sink and ran as quick as my grandmother. This place was over priced for no reason (maybe the location) but the overall attractiveness of the room/bathroom was poor and not impressive. Price is way above quality, save your money and do research on nearby places.
Upon arriving at the Atlanta Marriott location, check-in was rather smooth. However, the experience in the room was a different situation altogether. After a long trip to Atlanta, we wanted to rest before venturing back out for other activities around Atlanta. The first thing we noticed was half of the pillows were dirty with various spots on them. We put those pillows to the side and tried to accept it as an isolated incident. Next, we turned on the television and was surprised to see that most the channels were not working. The technician, Michael, did a great job of trying his best to get the channels to work, going back and forth to check the signal and even switched out the cable boxes. Unfortunately, this did not work. Michael was very professional and apologized that our television was not working properly and he informed the front desk of the issue. Third, we noticed the refrigerator was not as cold as it should be and the ice inside was melting. We turned the knob a couple of times to try to get it to come on and we heard a sound of what we thought was it turning back on, however, it went right back off. We went to the restaurant in the lobby to eat and had food to take back upstairs. However, our food went to waste because the refrigerator was not working again. We informed the front desk and they sent a technician up. The technician stated he would look for another refrigerator because that one was out completely. The front desk called a few minutes later and stated there was not another refrigerator available and offered to hold our food behind the front desk. I am not sure who, as a customer, would put their food in the care of people they do not know. This was not something I was willing to do as I do not personally know the employees. We asked for the manager at the time and they were unavailable. The next morning, the manger contacted me and I informed her of the experiences that we had. The overall experience could have been much better. I always have high hopes for the Marriott because my family has stayed at the Marriott before. This was opposite of those experiences.
We celebrated our honeymoon in Atl, at this hotel and loved it! The staff was very pleasant and made sure to always greet us. All questions were promptly answered by the front staff. We had asked for a specific room and it was reserved for us. The first day our sliding glass door was stuck and wouldn’t open. Management sent security to look at it and the next morning as promised, it was fixed. We were comped breakfast because of it. The room was plain, but was nice and clean. We waited for the shuttle to the game, but decided to walk instead. Next time we are in the Atlanta area, I would love to stay here again.
We had a great stay at the hotel. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room was ready before we expected it to be without asking for early check-in. Lobby and room seem to have been recently remodeled. They are currently doing more remodeling, but that didnt affect our stay.
Incredible venue! This Marriott site boasts both exceptionally pleasant and professional staff; its a structurally sound and wonderfully renovated space as well! Its age and charm soar through and are preserved and celebrated; a great choice for family vacations, an attractions-based visit to Atlanta, and conventions and seminars, too.
Right now there is construction going on, but that is probably the only thing that would take away from this hotel. Great location thats surprisingly easy to get to off of I-285 and I-75 within walking distance of The Atlanta Braves Park. Decently quiet hotel and the beds are comfortable. Good food served in the bar area and server Tracey was very outgoing. Highly recommend and should be really nice after the construction is through.
As a former Marriott employee, the promises that were broken and guest experience were not what I expected as I have usually had top notch service. Despite the situation at the hotel, the least needy customers are the ones who suffer the most. Atlanta Braves schedule has been out for months so there’s no surprise that it would be a busy weekend. Valet service was professional.
Please avoid this Marriott Hotel. This particular hotel does not live up to the Marriott Brand. This hotel was dirty, disgusting and not kept up. I stay at Marriott’s all the time and trust the brand and was throughly disappointed at my experience. My stay was an overnight stay as I was passing through on a road trip as I was staying for 10 hours and glad it was no longer. We have friends in the area and thought we would stay at this location regularly, we are sadly mistaken. We will never stay at this Marriott location again!
The front desk was always super friendly and assisted us with anything needed. The hotel itself is nice and has a lot of potential but the service staff disappointed. Our shower had black mold on the ceiling. The refrigerator surface was very dirty with grit. We ordered room service which only included two desserts and two drinks at 930pm and did not receive until 1100pm. We were already asleep once we received our food. The day of checkout we asked for towels twice in a 30-45 minute time span and did not receive them until we found the housecleaning in the hall ourselves. Checkout was easy and front desk associate was very friendly. She helped us understand how to use our keys to checkout of parking.
Marriotts never disappoint and either did this location. Walked in and first thing that hit me was the pleasant scent in the lobby. The check in went smoothly with a friendly concierge and my room was up to par with what I normally expect for a Marriott. Cleanliness is key to me and my room and hotel in general is spotless. Ate at both Rocks and the breakfast buffet, both quality food and great service. This location is fantastic for doing business in the immediate area. Highly recommend.
This hotel and its staff were phenomenal and I was there for a big Braves/Dodgers game. The shuttle was very handy for short trips to shopping areas and to the Bravess stadium. There was also a sidewalk from the hotel to the stadium which was about a 15 minutes walk and very safe even at night after the games. The hotel was full, but the staff handled the crowd very competently and nicely. Actually, it was pretty quiet for such an occasion. Sometimes, there was a delay with the elevator since some work was being done on the system, but that was not a big problem for anyone else unless you were on a tight schedule. You just had to remember to start early! What a fun bar! The bartenders very helpful and efficient as were the servers. The food was excellent. There was no problem the room itself including the amenities, the extra fridge, the TV, the freshness, the temperature, the view, and the noise level.
The hotel was almost empty 12/22-12/26- clearly, attracting mostly business travelers. Our son quite recently relocated to Atlanta (near the baseball stadium) so this Marriott location was perfect for us!The staff has been superbly trained. Every need was anticipated, professionalism was on fullest display. Each and every one was friendly, hospitable, knowledgeable and upbeat (which always impresses me bc you know they’d rather not be working over Christmas!).The holiday decorations were absolutely FABULOUS. They went all out and it set the tone from the minute we walked in to the lobby. With a hot chocolate bar station, gingerbread contest station (guests only voted and not a single staff member would divulge which has been their project-impressive discretion!), fresh fruited water station, and trees/garlands/wreaths abounding created a marvelous atmosphere of welcome and cheer. Rarely do I opt to hang out in a lobby versus my room or a restaurant... but I sure did at this hotel! As well as a SpringHill Suites which is about to be built next door, this Marriott is also about to do a major renovation: expand the dining footprint, reconfigure the lobby, ballroom and office spaces, bring the concierge down to the ground floor, etc. this was the quiet before their storm. Glad to have been there before the next year’s construction ahead!!!I loved that last minute Christmas shopping was simple and we were not all the way in downtown Atlanta (read: more traffic). Parking was easy at the hotel. A truly unforgettable staff which made all the difference with their winning attitudes and hospitality. I will categorically stay here for future visits to see my son!
This hotel is great. We have stayed here several times with my sons soccer team. We have been pleased with each stay. The restaurant and bar area offer a variety of beverages and good food. The shuttle will take you to Suntrust Park for free where there are several activities and restaurants that will surely appeal to someone in your group.
I loved my entire stay, the check-in & out process was seamless. I felt the room was a good size and very clean. The only thing I will say is that I too much didn’t like, was that my room didn’t have a refrigerator and microwave that I was use to seeing when I stay at hotels, so that was different. But overall I like the property and the service I received during my stay. I was hoping to lounge at the pool however, they were renovating during my stay, so that was a bummer as well.
The rooms were outdated and extremely overpriced. The electrical area was not properly covered...we had to hold the door closed with a chair, the refrigerator needed to be replaced and it had the ugliest wallpaper...it was just a random strip of forest like wallpaper that seemed to be covering something up.
The hotel is clean and sufficient as you would expect, of course. However, they charge a significant nightly incidental (something Ive never seen before and I am a travel nurse). They do not have any free parking even with self parking. They do not have a community microwave at all. They will take your food in the back themselves and heat it for you. You can request one of the few fridges they have and might get one, but if you do, they may take a day to bring it to your room. Therefore, for the stay, they are rated low.
The hotel was under some construction and only one elevator was working. I’m trying to leave that part out of my star rating since it isn’t permanent. Most importantly, the AC blows nice and cold. I’m very picky when it comes to the AC and this one was great. I have a infrared thermometer and the room got to 62.The rooms are updated, beds are comfy and plenty of pillow. Nothing fancy in the bathroom. A regular tub/shower combo. I had two twin beds. I wanted a king but not sure if they were just out or if this is standard.Concierge lounge on the 16th floor with good snacks. Outdoor pool. Good desert at the restaurant. Decent gym with dumbbells up to 50 pounds.Overall a nice hotel that is extremely close to the stadium.
Had a youth soccer team at the hotel for tournament. My coaching staff couldn’t speak more highly of the hotel and we all experienced and caring, friendly and attentive hotel staff who were on hand for any requests we had. The hotel was clean and with a great ambience. The food was more than satisfactory and the rooms were clean and spacious. This hotel will be my first choice when traveling back to Atlanta! Great place to stay!
Enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Conveniently located near several great restaurants. Friendly customer service, staff made the difference for my elderly mother to be comfortable when not feeling well during our journey due to several falls she endured at other hotels. Cannot begin to thank this team enough for their efforts.
Only stayed one night. Very friendly reception staff. Clean rooms, great location, really nice indoor/outdoor pool. Would give 5 stars but the stairwell by our room was pretty dirty, get rid of the carpet and it would be better. Hand wash in the bathroom was really nice, and smells amazing😀
Staff was very pleasant....BUT Extremely small rooms. Very dated, no refrigerator, no microwave, location is good for SunTrust park. One Elevator did not work, And although my preferences for Marriott rewards (Gold level member) asks for a high floor away from elevators, they put us on the second floor directly across from the elevators which is very loud. We were going to stay there 4 nights, but we checked out the next day and went to a local hotel that was bigger and better for our needs. Once this is updated it would be a better hotel.
The room could have been nicer for the price I had to pay. The gates for parking didnt work with my keys the whole time and that was really annoying. The bar was nice and the hotel was clean overall. My bathroom had a mildew smell and overall the bathroom could have been nicer. I had just recently stayed in a hotel of the same value but a different brand which I found to be much nicer. This is a good hotel and at a lower price point would be an excellent hotel. However, at the price point, this hotel should have been nicer. Fun side note: You are within a half of mile of the new Braves stadium and that is a plus!
Not that great. Turned off lights outside when unloading my car out front, there was old food left in fridge making me question the cleanliness of rest of room. No microwave in room, had to wait in line in the lobby, and scramble to carry my families food back to room. One microwave per 1000s of guests. Nickle and dime for everything, 12$parking, 10$ wifi.
We really enjoyed our stay. We love that you can walk or shuttle to the ball park from this hotel! All of the staff we dealt with were very nice. Roland at the front took it to a new level. Marriott truly has an exceptional member of their team in Roland. He even turned a grumpy 3 year old into all smiles. Thank you for going above and beyond, Roland!
Clean, friendly, overall fine. Room clean, staff friendly. Slightly overpriced room but there was a baseball game that night and the hotel is walking distance to the park.Hotel bar was packed after the game. Service was not good, but they were understaffed for the amount of patrons.Coworker has Marriott status so we got free breakfast. Would have been disappointed if I had paid for it.
The lobby area was nice, but the rooms need to be updated. They are old, smell, and I was just not satisfied with it. I called a friend to come get me, but I would have had to drive an hour each way for the entire week so I decided to stay. I had to go by Clorox wipes to clean my bathroom, and the room I stayed in had what appeared to be blood on the carpet. The beds were not comfy, and the paint was chipped on most of the walls. Ive stayed at several Marriotts before, but this one I will not. Staff was great, very friendly, but I still have an expectation of cleanliness, especially since I had to be there for a week on business.
We stayed at this Marriott for our family reunion, and the staff made us feel like family! From the front desk staff, the staff at the Rocks (Hi, Lisa!) and breakfast buffet, to the banquet halls, everything was superb! I loved every minute of my stay, and my expectations were exceeded. This place cannot come more highly recommended for service, and the staff really deserves recognition!!
Nice updated and fresh decor in the lobby and room. Older hotel that has clearly gone through a renovation. The bar area was very lively and the restaurant offered a great buffet option. The rooms could use some attention to maintenance (my closet sliding door was broken and the staff would have had to notice it. The elevator was broken in the morning and required me to walk the stairs with a suitcase and outside in order to get to breakfast. Overall not a bad value for the offerings. Very close to the Braves stadium, shopping, the interstate and restaurants.
The hotel was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The complimentary shuttle to the Braves game was very nice. Not sure if it is just available for playoffs or all games. The walk back was easy and safe 10 minute walk from the stadium. The Breakfast Buffet was average would not choose to eat there again a bit pricey for quality.
Nice hotel. Overnight stay for Braves game. Front desk staff was quick and helpful, gave tips on where to eat. The valet guy and lady both spoke to us in a friendly and genuine way every time we passed even though we did self park. Seemed to really like their jobs and people. Lovely bar and restaurant area.
Nice rooms nothing luxurious but nice. Staff is Friendly and attentive. We didnt have a problem on our stay. I am not sure if the offer continental breakfast or not, if they did it was slim pickings. They do have an in house dinner that serves a great breakfast all you can eat too. Located next to the new braves stadium and battery park. Its within walking distance or they offer a shuttle ride for the game.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights on business. It was very enjoyable. Quiet, sophisticated, understated luxury. Bedding is heavenly. Cleanliness in the room was amazing. Staff very approachable, friendly, and helpful. When I drove up the first night there was a doorman standing outside who I mistakenly assumed was a valet. He still offered to park my car! Who does that?! These folks do! Perfect example of what is good in the service industry- just people willing to help other people. I couldnt recommend this hotel any higher. I will be staying there in the future when I return for business (or pleasure). I appreciate all the attention to detail and friendly staff. THANK YOU!
Location was great for us because we attended the Braves game the entire weekend. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was cool wen I got in and temp stayed at the setting. Room was also clean and the bed was comfortable. I noticed they supplied different types of pillows since all of us like different ones. Nice plus!
The lobby is large, bright and well lit. Inviting. Impressive if you choose this site to host an event. Check in was pretty quick. The room on the other hand was smaller than I imagined. Room had a fridge but no microwave. Check with the hotel staff and get clarity about breakfast vouchers. I wasnt told there were specific hours and ended up not being able to use it. Website advised that outdoor pool was closed, yet both indoor and outdoor was closed. Concierge lounge is not open on Saturday night so it is pointless to pay extra if that is the only night you are staying. There was an event in the ballroom so the parking lot was very busy as well.
This hotel is in an excellent location. Close to many restaurants & to see a Braves game. The entire staff is friendly. Rooms were comfortable & updated. No bottled water in room but front desk offered us one at check in. My room didnt have a fridge but wasnt needed either.
Great hotel with a great location, within walking distance of Sun Trust Stadium. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We love to catch their shuttle over to our favorite restaurant, and no problems having our favorite wine because they always come when we call at the end of the evening!

2022-01-23This location is an absolute gem solely based on their staff and customer service. Exceptional. Every single encounter with them was very pleasant. From valet-housekeeping, speaks volume about leadership and expectations.Check in via the app was easy.Digital door key was convenient. However; still had to stop at the front desk to obtain parking pass and breakfast card.Room was clean. Water pressure and temperature 💯. Restaurant located in lobby and service and options are just right. Location is okay, you will need a car to venture out to stores/shopping/dining. All within a 5mi radius. Will definitely come back.

2022-03-12Me and my friend came down for my birthday and the hotel was good. Our hotel from had minor issues but overall is was great. The hot water was very hot which we loved! The hotel would have been five stars if it wasn’t for the shuttle driver PERRY demanding a tip and going off on us during our shuttle ride. He was very unprofessional and rude. We were going to tip him but he had an attitude at the end of our ride. Overall our stay was great. The valet guys Chase & Bryce were very nice and helpful!

2022-04-12Beautiful ambience upon entering the hotel. The lobby is lined with full plank timbers, and Atlanta Braves motif everywhere. Asthmatic guests beware: the lobby is heavily perfumed with air fresheners.Open expansive bar near the lobby. Perfect atmosphere for a get together. Bar has opening hour for 5:00 PM, but we were here when the Braves were playing and the bar was open by 3:30 PM.Check in time is 4:00 PM, but our room was not ready until 4:33 PM. Turns out that Platinum and Gold members can check out as late as 4:00 PM. This really sucks when you are rushed trying to get ready to go to the baseball game.Hotel charges$15/ day for parking. The hotel has a courtesy van that shuttles guest to and from the baseball stadium, but the walk over is about a mile with good sidewalks.Rooms nice, clean with OK plenty of space. Traffic noise from Interstate was loud. Our room was on the side facing the Interstate.

2022-03-27The service and amenities were very nice. The room was clean, comfortable, and the content was all in good working order. The staff was very polite and welcoming. I had dinner at the restaurant. The food was good and prepared quickly although not many people used this facility, unsure why.

2022-06-21Dont be fooled by the name. This hotel does not come close to the standards of Marriott. Rooms are old, rundown, and badly in need of repairs. Paint is peeling in the rooms. Wifi does not work, or when it does, its so slow as to be unusable. Still no daily housekeeping service, in spite of the fact that most Marriott hotels have gone back to it. Not a recommended hotel at all. Wouldnt give any stars at all, but have to select at least one to post.

2021-12-14Positive: It was convenient for my meeting. The food was really good. The staff was very friendly. Negative: I thought this was rated as a four-star hotel. Im not sure what the rating is based on. The building was old, the furniture was scuffed and dated. My stay was not bad. My expectations of a four-star hotel are about the grandeur and beauty of the hotel.

2022-06-04I would say I am very disappointed in this hotel. I understand that if you leave an item in the room when you check out, it is your own fault. I just cannot get over how I left a throw blanket in our room when we checked out, and I called the next day to see if I can have it picked up as that is when we returned home without it. This place has a directory to the lost and found, but I can tell you right now they can’t find anything. I whole heartily know I left my blanket there that I have had for 10+ years, and have been told they can’t find it. How in the world can a throw blanket that is purple not be found in a specific room in white bedding? I was told the maid didn’t see it, and the person in lost and found stated the room was wiped clean. I then was told that the blanket probably went to the laundry room to be washed with the other bedding in the room. I will never understand, but now I’m out this blanket that meant so much to me. So thank you Marriott ATL for doing the bare minimum for a customer who enjoyed staying at your hotel.

2022-06-14Ive stayed twice at this hotel and both times booked a king room. BOTH times I was down graded to a double queen room because no kings were available. Both times reservations were made weeks in advance as well as doing mobile check in 24-48 hours in advance. There should be no reason why my reservation cant be honored. I am a platinum elite member, I was not thanked at check in, not offered water at check, not offered points for down grading my room, nothing. When I tried to chat with the front desk it took a solid 45 minutes for a reply and again offered ZERO customer service for dissatisfaction. There was used toilet paper unflushed in the toilet and stains on one of the beds bedding.

2022-03-15Ok, well it a hotel. We were told that the hotel had been under renovation recently. Apparently this has not been done throughout the facility. The room I was in was not one of them. Patches on the door, older looking room and no mini fridge. While it was not a bad stay, definitely not upgraded. I guess COVID policies are also still in place as beds were not made and towels were not replaced in the three days there. Oh well.
