I purchased fruit from Austell Farmers Market and a few days later the majority of it went bad. I spent over $200 and they said they dont take produce back or give a refund. The cantelope didnt go bad but it wasnt sweet. The apples arent sweet or crunchy. As soon as you take these items home and clean the pesticides off of them they go bad. This isnt the first time it has happened! Has anyone else experienced this?
Bought red snapper from here that was vacuum sealed and didnt realize that the fish was a dark brown color until I was ready to cook it the next day. I ended up going to a seafood market and purchasing more snapper and it was bright red like snapper is supposed to be. Bad Fish! And no refund...
So.many rotten items and they are doing no refunds at all any more. Theyve lost me for good. Done.Update. Here are some rotten shriveled cherries that have an awful aftertaste. The bag sitting in the plate is filled with totally rotten cherries. I thought Id pick through them and find some good ones, but Ill throw these away just like I did the nectarines. I promise I will NEVER go there again. Total waste of money. There are several Farmers Markets in the area. Its really smelly in there these days as well. Probably from rotting fish...they have been really slow.
Produce and meats are super affordable, they have great cultural selections such as Japanese, Korean, Hispanic, Jamaican, African, and European. The biggest selections are the Hispanic and Japanese. They have a fresh seafood market located in the back of the store, it does make the building alittle stinky but its fast to get used to and ignore.
Yes I have went into the Austell market and they definitely have fresh fish and everything that you are looking for so I end up getting blue crabs and I really did like it you can pick it out yourself and it also they have a lots of seafood fresh and everything so go take the guys out and you would not be disappointed if you’re looking for any type of seafood and you can also shop in there as well
I came here for fresh seafood based on reviews raving about fresh seafood. If you want farmed seafood, then you can get it at Kroger, costoc..or just about anyplace! No reason to stop here. I came for wild caught seafood..if youve been to the Decatur farmers market then dont come here, you will be disappointed : ( They even had farmed shrimp from China..oh sooo fresh! Lol
Worst place everMy wife got robbedFrom the ownerShe worked there for 3 weeks It wasnt a good fit when she quit rhea the owner paid her 7.25 for 40 hr of work. She was making 28 an hr. On top of everthing else going on in the world today she didnt care. Thanks alot austell farmers market. And they have roaches.!
I came on June 7th 2022 , at 1:42 we were checking out on three different tabs and the dumb cashier put one of the tabs on mine . WE SPECIFICALLY TOLD HER IT WAS ALL SEPARATE. THIS WAS HORRIBLE SERVICE . I WOULD GIVE IT A ZERO BUT I CANT , so I GIVE YOU A ONE . DO BETTER AUSTELL FARMERS MARKET.
I bought crab legs from there and got home and realized that they smelled very rotten and all of them have mold spores on them. They will not replace or fix the issue per company policy as I was told on the phone. She said that it’s my fault for buying the crab legs or any meat at my own risk. They do no refunds at all. Please do not buy any seafood from there! These crab legs smell like pure ammonia and will definitely get a call to the health department!
This is a customer service complaint. I was purchasing asparagus that is/was priced at $0.99 a bunch. At checkout, I was charged $3.98 a bunch. I pointed out the incorrect price to the clerk who double checked, found the error, talked to a lead cashier and then advised, there is nothing I can do about it. Either pay $3.98 a bunch or dont. I was shocked, so I took my complaint to the lead cashier who said she is acting manager, but not a manager. She also refused to honor the marked price. She said that several other people have made the same complaint today, and she was told to tell to inform us to either pay the higher price or dont. I responded that in this country that is called false advertisement. Her response was maybe so, but she is doing what she was told to do.I went out side to get my cellphone to take a picture of the price so that I could make an official complaint. When I returned, I found a stock clerk changing the prices of items. However, he left the incorrect price on the asparagus. I inquired as to why he had not changed it. He advised that it was correct. He then walked with he to address the lead clerk who has since left her post. The clerk went into a back office and, 10 minutes later, no one had returned to resolve the issue, so I left. My mother always told me the best way to stand up against improper treatment is to take your business elsewhere, so thats what I am going to do.
Generally a great place to get international foods including live crabs and fish. I problem presented itself when I realized I paid for but did not receive my tiny container of dried pineapples. They took more than 30 mins searching their camera to se if it was placed in my bag. I recall that I wasn’t sure I wanted the pineapples but just before check out decoded yo get them so they were placed in a different bag thus the only thing missing. The management insisted that I got them. Mid I wanted something for nothing why would I claim that the cheapest thing I purchased that day was what I didn’t receive.I was fuming that I was called a liar when I take pride in my honesty. Had to let it go but still have a bitter taste in my mouth regarding the service. They seem to believe that black and brown ppl are going to steal. Sad 😢
Great place to get great fresh fruits and veggies I was looking for a raw fruit call Ash Groud and they had it . It said to help slow aging greatbbrain food also great for strengthen up ur immune system. It tastes like a melon with a watermelon after taste kinda 😆 it a fruit of its own.I ate it raw I peeled it and tried it yummy. I cut the skin off and put half in the blender with a orange, half of banana a few peaches and filled it up with natural peach juice add honey and cinnamon omgness this is so delicious and healthy look it up. I think it its also called white melon. I got this healthy tip from a great mystic from India his name is Sadhguru he is totally awesome. 👌
Seafood departmentSome employees back there are very rude. I was very disappointed with the attitude when I went in there to get some fish. They werent busy at the time I went in. The lady walks up to the counter she looked at me and said something and walked off. She said I was on my phone because I put my hand up to my ear. Wasnot Welthe music was very
I want to move to Austell, GA just for this store. There were items that Ive only seen on food TV shows and some fruits/veggies Ive NEVER seen. My daughter and I bought some many different items to try and to take back home to try in our recipes. The produce and meats were all fresh! And the prices were very reasonable.
I love the store. There was wide variety of products that I love. I was so surprised to see sugar cane. Its been a long time. This store has many fresh see foods. They have many fishes. That was my first time. But I still ended up spending quite a bit of time there. Great store. I would highly recommend to you all.
As a former professional and personal chef, I have toured many nations of the world. Im always on the look out for new and innovative menu items. This market was wonderful. From Caribbean to Asian and everything in between. Prices were cheap compared to big name stores. I will definitely be back for more
Love this place. I can find things here I can’t find elsewhere. They have a very good selection of international foods. In addition, the staff is helpful. I love their fresh seafood section. Their meat section is pretty good too. If you are from the Caribbean (like I am) you might want to make a stop here to find the foods we have in our islands.
I went to Austell Farmers market on a day when they were packed, the lines were very long and they were short on staff.I witnessed the manager, whos name is Kim, handle the situation very professionally and studiously. She took control of the situation by not only helping with ringing up customers but also helping to bag the groceries. I admired that and to add to it the store has a variety of shopping options to choose from. Great job guys.
This is a great place. Its clean, spacious and has all the foods I like to buy. The fish is good here and the produce is fresh. All the other items are neatly stacked on shelves and the aisles are not narrow and clostrophobic. Check your receipt every so often tho cause you may have been double charged for an item or 2. Glance over it before walking out.
BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK! I recently purchased a small container of cut watermelon from here for $2.99. Although it appeared to be ripe, when I got it home, I found it to be very hard and bitter. The following day I returned it along with the receipt for an exchange. Surprisingly, i was told by the customer service associate that they dont issue exchanges or refunds under any circumstances. I explained to her that I was a long time customer, had spent hundreds of dollars there, and did not want to stop doing business with them over an issue that could easily be resolved. But my comments were met with indifference. Later, I expressed my concern directly to the manager but her response was equally dismissive. Needless to say, I will never spend another red cent there and will take my business to nearby City Market or Nam Dae Mun Farmers Market and i will encourage my family and anyone else I know to do the same. This store does not stand behind its products nor have any regard for their customers. Be warned! If you purchase an inferior product from here, you will be stuck with it and they will keep your money.
Never before have I seen so many options for fresh produces. I was in pure shock of how many different variations of fresh vegetables and spices. I was motivated to attempt a vegetarian lifestyle and with so many new options to try and spices I believe I can keep it going and try something new as often as possible!!
Bright, cheery atmosphere, well-lit and welcoming. Huge selection of international foods, including a huge selection of exotic fruits, veggies and roots. Management is friendly, and employees are helpful. Prices are very reasonable. They even carry live blue crab and whole frozen Durian! Wow! My favorite market in Cobb!
I love this place and the selection of fruits and vegetables. They carry seeded fruit that you cant get at the supermarket. The first few times I went my seeded watermelon was superb, however the last two visits the seeded watermelon was old and mushy on the inside. Im excellent at picking out watermelon. They either sat there too long or the shipments have been bad. Ive bought 4 horrible ones and theyre 8 dollars a piece..
I stopped here with a friend and I was very glad I did This place is great, being from Miami and now living in Atlanta I was blown away with the seasonings I was able to find especially Jamaican brands which has been proven hard to find but not here there was also plenty of fresh fish, shrimps, conch, whole lobsters or just the tail. live cat fish, talapia live crabs blue, snow, abd Alaskan king The produce section was great too and the store was clean. I will definitely be back.
Their fresh food and veggetables section has everything. Affordable prices and they have fresh sea food selection.Update.They used to have great fresh foods. Now everything seems frozen and not fresh as before.I called about the meat department and was told they close at 7:30pm. Got there at 6:59pm and they were closed. I asked nicely and the guy just waved me off. Why have hours if they arent respected?
Austell International Farmer Market Sale All type of international foods. They have amazing vegatable and fruit selection. Also have seafood market inside, with fresh seafood, you can get it frozen or not frozen. All type of meats cooking utensils, seasoning and drinks. I brought ginger malts it a delicious drink!! Have a blessed day everyone 🕊️
So out of order, the line wheres theres a less than 10 items sign had people lined up with carts full and when I asked the cashier she said it was ok. She didnt care, she got paid her wages regardless. So I went to the customer service line where there was a woman with over 20 items then she yells 10 items only after she finished with her. Their prices on the shelves are wrong because one of my items scanned a $1 more than what was on the shelf. I even showed her the picture I took and she didnt care, said whatever it scanned for that was the price. So if this is throughout the store you come home surprised that you paid more for some items that you thought cost less. That is fraud! BUYER BEWARE!!!
I come here to get my ferrets their organs and sometimes other food for them. One of the last times I was there I noticed a sign saying they would no longer return meat. I of course see this after buying my meat. The chicken legs I got for my ferrets smell like theyre 1 day away from being bad. I ground up the organ for them less than 2 hours later the organs turned green and had an awful smell to them like vomit inducing. I have never had this issue before I was disgusted. I wont be coming back. I went back to Nam de Mun purchased the same items and the organs arent turning green and the chicken doesnt smell rotten. There is something going on in the meat prep area of this place and they know it which is why they dont do returns
Went to the Chinese restaurant there in the plaza. Tho we were seated in the back with fewer other people they started bringing them bach there to tables behind us and beside us. That is mostly why they got 3 🌟. Most patrons were Mexican or Latino and I dont think any of them had on mask and them not wearing mask made me very uncomfortable. The food was not that good. The worker came by while we were eating and started sweeping around us and came several times to see if we were ready to pay before we were completely finished eating.
The smells really bad in some places. The parking lot is disgusting. However, they do have a larger variety of fruits and vegetables than any other place near me. I also like their section of cookware & misc HomeGoods. They have different sorts of things to offer at low prices which makes it fun to try out a new kitchen gadget. I will go back.
This establishment does a great job providing international food items to purchase. I will say though, while shopping here to be aware some items shelf life is very short. On Many occasions I’ve purchased items that was expired. I would advise that when shopping here for groceries to thoroughly look. There’s definitely a lot more affordable items here in comparison to other grocery places. As always be certain when shopping here what your buying isn’t expired.
I love this store when looking for fresh fish. They have all native food you can think of. Compared to Publix or kroger there more expensive when it comes to lobster tails and crab legs. They have every produce, herbs, and every part of the animal for meatyou can think of.
This was our fist trip here after being huge Buford Farmers Market shoppers. This market carries much of the same items except in European section. The choices throughout were less and the prices slightly higher but overall a great experience. The prices difference was less than the fuel cost to go to Buford and we were able to get almost everything at much less than a grocery store. We will still make a trip to Buford once a month or so but Austell is our new regular store for meats and veggies
Great for produce and dry goods. But there is something off putting about their meat section. The smell of the seafood and butcher dept just doesnt seem right. I have been To other markets and the overwhelming smell of seafood and blood never hit you. I will never purchase meats from here
I found this market looking for a certain type of weight loss tea and what a surprise I walked into so many vegetables and fruits and those tiny bananas they are so delicious and the veggies are just so fresh and last much longer then those Ive bought from the regular groceries stores. On my last visit I bought a family package of pork chops and the price was unbelievable there was 14 in that tray now the pry was 7.84 that it self was so amazing. Ive shared it with everyone I know.Great customer service and yes you do get to meet different cultures there as well from my experience they were very friendly and helpful.
Great me and my Mother come here for shrimp and seafood when we need it in our food this was amazing but when you walk into the place the smell is gross but its seafood it is gonna smell very disgusting but they have amazing things and it has more than seafood they have cooking things also so go to Austell Farmers market and get your seafood . I also love to play with the fishes in the tank 😂🤣 .
You get a feel of being in an outdoor farmers market. If you are looking for more of a relaxed shopping experience DO NOT go on the weekends. During the week might be better for you. There are tons of food options when it comes to culture variety. Some associates are more welcoming than others but i guarantee, given the smells going on in this place , you wont even notice. Yes, the smells coming from the freezers, the fish market , and the produce area are not kind to the nose, but what can you expect with such a variety of inventory ? 🤷 overall this is one of my favorite places to do grocery shopping. You can meet lots of new interesting people here because people from all backgrounds shop here. They have something for everybody! You wont be disappointed! To the owner: I recommend better ventilation and a skyline above the produce area would be a nice touch!
Great selection of vegetables, meat and seafood. If you like and have been to nam dae munn in Smyrna. You will definitely like it here. It’s bigger, cleaner and better. You have live seafood and services to cut fish. All kind of international foods, housewares available here.
Won’t provide pricing over the phone, real turn off their prices could have be better but their out of a potential customer for the dumb policy. Now I’m going to the market up the street and I’m sure his price is more but the fact he took into consideration the fact I was driving so far. Now I’m a business customer all because the butcher provided me a price.
Its a really huge establishment and very well stocked. The prices are quite higher than the average grocery stores. You can smell the seafood as you enter the store. Im a Kroger shopper and has never smelled the seafood as you enter the building. I dont think Ill return.
Im going to give this a two because I do agree that they do have a lot of things that other big national stores dont carry. But the customer service is awful, the workers claim to not speak English so they just refuse to help you try to find something in a different language that you need in English. All I was asking was for a little bit of assistance. Because I only know English, and if it was vice versa and someone asked me for help at Walmart that didnt speak English I would definitely help.
Pros: Veracious seafood, produce, tea, herb, and snacking selection. They also carry spiritual candles and play nice music.Tips to customers- Normal store busy hours are extra busy here, don’t wait until close to the holidays or at the breakout of pandemic news :(. Also it’s not a good idea to frequent here if you do not have respect or some level of appreciation for other nationalities and customs.
So unfortunate that this market has decent prices BUT Terrible Customer Service! The price on an item was marked as 4 for $1 on small aluminum pans, got to the register and the cashier rang it as .59cent each, I mentioned that they were marked at .25cent she wanted me to show her before she went any further. We walked back to the aisle where a fully stocked shelf of pans were marked as 4 for $1. To the front desk she went, spoke to the person in charge in their language and proceeded to tell me that it was not possible. Now I am punished for a mistake on the part of the stock person, clearly this has nothing to do with me. I am well aware that I am only 1 person and only shopped here for seafood and fresh veggies. Thank GOD this is Atlanta and Farmers Markets can be found Everywhere!
The Austell International Farmers Market is a great place to shop! They have an excellent product selection and awesome music. I actually seen a fellow customer cut a few dance steps to one of the tunes. My attached reciept was for a total of a little over 250.00! I was able to stock my house with everything; I literally counted 28 meat items, that included 3 different types of steak; large bags of shrimp; multiple packs of chicken and etc... I was also able to get fresh fruit; vegetables; several sauces; and grains. You really cant beat the prices and fresh offerings. I actually shopped at Walmart, the next day, just for a few items that I forgot to get at the market. I paid almost as much, for maybe 5-6 bags (not a whole cart, like the Farmers Market). Hands down.... If youre cost conscious and want quality food, for reasonable prices, look no further. Shop at the Farmers Market!
Ive gone into other farmers market and greated with an awful smell of rotten produce .but this one is clean ,well stock and price. I can find all the foods I like , such as sweet potatoes, avocado, and plantines .only place I can find a vass majority of herbal teas like lemongrass, nettle and ginger .the cashiers are friendly anything you cant seem to find and theyll tell you ! Definitely worth the drive from Douglasville
I shop here sometimes never had a problem, but I was here early Friday morning by 9:00 to buy some fish. The workers in the meat department are very Rude ! especially in the Seafood department. You get a number and they dont call your #? I was that second person waiting to get served, and the workers were talking, laughing as if they didnt have any customers waiting? The workers totally ignore you if you try to get their attention? Also it smells like something is rotten around the meat area ? Customer service is very bad here , and Management doesnt care ! If I could give a much lower score I would .
The moment I walked into this market I was blown away by the selection and prices. It quickly became my go-to for meat. Fresh fish, shark, and crab. AWESOME prices on T-bone steaks and ground beef, and the family pack of 60ish chicken wings for ~$12.00 is now a staple dinner at home.I highly recommend checking this market out.
Love visiting the market, especially when my sons come I to town. They love to buy seasonings and meats for their trucks. They are long haul drivers. The place is always pristine. They love the variety of things to buy and try. I love it to try different cultures as well. Love it.
I always buy food and vegetable here. But it happened too many time about customer service of cashier so ridiculous. Sometimes they charged me wrong items and bad attitude toward customer. They talked on phone and didnt pay attention to check me out. This lead to charge me wrong items. Dont respect customer at all. I totally dont like it at all. And the food is also over expired date smelling old oil.
Love their hot pepper selection. They have green peanuts for boiling. All kinds of cuts if meat with round the clock specials. I bought two T-bone steaks for $2.99 a pound. They have fancy sake and their wine is fairly priced. The staff is very friendly. If you are looking for exotic or international fruits, veggies, come here
On 02/09/21 I purchased approximately $30 worth of preweighed fresh chicken wings (that were pre bagge,) on sale for $1.99lb.. Worst chicken ever. I deep fried like I normally do and the skin was like a raw hide texture. Unbreakable skin. It was so rubbery tuff, I was in disbelief. So I brined a bag overnight thinking this should fix the issue and fried them up and they were still un-eatable. I spoke to a mgr named Jenny or so she said..Very rude and uncaring and basically said oh well cant give a refund. Have a nice day and attempted to hang up.in my face. So Im GRACIOUSLY leaving a bad review to give a heads up on being screwed over for buying tainted meat.
The prices! The FRESH produce! Purchased beef neck bones and THEY came out delicious! They even have the motorized shopping carts for handicapped people and nice, bright, wide aisles!Im visiting from NJ but this will be one place Ill be sure to visit whenever I come!
This place is AMAZING!!! They have the BEST fruits and vegetables... This store provides items you can not find at your normal grocery store!!! They have the freshest seafood in the area... Some things can be a little pricey, BUT you will find all of the different cultures under one roof!!!
I love to go here for meat & seafood. One of the only non chi chi real butchers in Cobb. The prices are low and the variety is stupendous. Never got anything but fresh meat here. Theyll even cut it for you. Need to add, if you like to make soup, this is the place for you!
Love this place! It is huge and well stocked. I found amazing things here. The seafood is VERY fresh and everything is SUPER CLEAN and I mean that. It was very cold in this market but that is likely what helps keep germs away. Bring a jacket and plan to enjoy a delightful shopping experience. You will find what you want and more. Jackfruit, star anise, even sweet birds nest drink! Fantastic employees here.
The people here were friendly and there was plenty of parking available. We went for the fresh produce and they had everything we wanted. The prices were good on the items we bought. This market isnt quite as big as the ones in Atlanta but it was still worth the drive (Atlanta is even further away for us).

2022-06-01This place is awesome! Love the fresh produce section. Great deals too. Asparagus bunches $.99, huge bag of spinach $5.99, large tray of strawberries $1.49.... incredible selection too! The seafood section is great with all the types of fish to choose from including some that are swimming in front of you. Lol. Live crabs, live lobsters, and lots of selections of shrimp, octopus, fish heads, etc. They have variations of snapper, mackerel, trout, bass, perch, etc. The meat section is very different with its international touch of many unusual cuts of meat. They have frozen duck, goat cuts, many different cuts of beef and pork as well. Plus each aisle is filled with wide selections. For example, you want Ramen noodles, well there is a 20 foot selection of all kinds of Ramen soups to choose from....it is wild lol. Plus there are rows for Asian, African, Mexican, etc. It is definitely worth a trip to see for yourself. My grandkids love going with me to the farmers market. They like to try the different types of candy sections and sometimes the cold drinks too. It is entertaining as well as educational. Hope you make time to go.

2022-06-21The line ups can get a little crazy. And the building is older, so occasionally, like today, some of the coolers malfunction. But a fun place to peruse and try new things. Especially foods that arent typical grocery store finds.

2021-08-02Prices are awesome the store was as clean as it could be for always being packed. Some of the seafood that was self service I didn’t like how they look.. but other than that they had some good prices. Just know the lines are long as heck on the weekends

2021-07-15Bottom line: Its not the best international market in the metropolitan area, but its still pretty good. Its got a pretty good selection of fresh and international fruit, vegetables, nuts, spices, and meats. The offerings in the aisles are more modest but you may still be able to find what youre after, but the prices are a bit disappointing. The deafening, upbeat 80s music in one part and the equally deafening instrumental music in the meat department was an interesting choice, wouldnt have taken things there myself. Still, a solid option if youre local and you dont want to go to Dekalb or Buford.

2022-01-26If you like seafood, this place has a little of everything. Even live blue crabs and catfish. And they will clean most anything in their fish deptartment you buy. And they have a large variety of several international foods on there shelves. Prices seemed to be very reasonable. But best time to go is during the week if you can. Weekends the place is packed and youll stand in line forever to get waited on or checking out.

2022-04-10Wow! We could have wandered for a couple of hours! They have so much! The fresh seafood area was astounding--lots of variety and everything looked super fresh. The meats were the same. Prices are good, too. The store is clean and organized.

2022-06-02They a little bit over price. And for the seafood area. Not empress at all.. their music is too loud even the store is already playing music. Seafood area staff is too slow. I wish the management can see that..

2022-06-29Havent been in a while but wanted some fresh fish and this is the place. The one draw back to this place is...It smells like fish. So take a close pen with ya! (Dating My Self). I forgot how diverse the selection of food choices they have. Not the easiest place to get in and out of, but Worth the trip.

2022-06-03I love this market! I love trying food and fruits from different cultures and areas of the world. Im rating it so low due to the live seafood area. There were dead crayfish and blue crabs in the boxes kept with the others, which is disgusting. The live ones will feed off the dead ones causing bacteria in the live ones, or someone could accidentally get a dead one. Some of the catfish in the tank looked injured or unhealthy either, which gave me concerns of consumption.Aside from this, I think they have a nice variety of spices, fruits, and foods.

2022-06-21Ther are several very good markets in the area, and most of them have a great variety of international foods and ingredients. That is one of my favorite things about Marietta. This particular market has a few things I had been unable to find anywhere else. I had given up, but now I have them. Awesome!
