These guys tried to take advantage of my mother.After being unable to diagnose the headlight issue she came in for, they told her the water pump and belt were bad. She was shocked because these parts were just replaced she showed them the receipt. They appeared sheepish after seeing the receipts. Also they claimed her brakes were “metal on metal” which they are not as confirmed by the recent balance and alignment.It’s a shame that these places are able to do this.Oh yeah and the “complimentary inspection” went up in price to $69.
They may or may not be good mechanics. I do t know because Ive been bringing my car there since May 2020 to get AC fixed and itt still dysfunctional.On August 8, 2020 I was going to spend $525 in addition to the $1200 already spent. Before coiming in I asked the manager if Saturday was OK because it was a short day. I was dubious, but the service manager assured me that Saturday was wide open.However, I was turned away and told to come back next week.I asked for a ride back home next week because its my only car and I believed that was entitled to some compensation after having gotten turned away on the 4th service trip in 3 months (for the same AC I was prepared to pay $500 more to fix). The ride request was declined.This firm is advertised as better than a mom and pop back alley repair shop, but in my opinion its similar.Earl Hobbs fixed it for $100. All I needed was new seals.
Best auto service in town! We have been taking our vehicles there for years and have never had an issue. They return phone calls, are fairly priced, and are honest.
Very helpful and generous. When my van broke down on the way to Columbus, I had it towed here. They looked at it the same afternoon. It turns out that my problem was in the transmission (which was still under warranty elsewhere from being rebuilt). They only charged me for the transmission fluid they added and did not even charge me for the time they spent diagnosing my vehicle. They got me back on the road so that I could get my vehicle to the transmission shop for the warranty work.Everyone was very kind. I highly recommend this shop.
This is the best auto repair shop in Columbus! The staff is always friendly, the work is always done professionally and for the best price. Ive lived here for 4 years now and I refuse to take my vehicles to anyone else.
Went here to get the front end aligned on Ford f150 several week ago. Noticed the other day my front tires were wearing uneven, they wearing on the out side of the tires. I always maintain the correct tire pressure at 35 psi which made me think that the tire alignment was still not correct. I took it to another tire shop to have it rechecked. The mechanic told me that the chamber which is part of the alignment was way off and that this was causing the problem. Auto masters charged me $85.00 for an alignment that was done incorrectly and did more harm than good. Because of their incompetences my front tires were ruined and the job had to be redone at a different shop. Take your business somewhere else if you want it done right.
Went in to see about an getting a repair done and was told I was being given a complimentary full inspection of the car. After they identified the issue with the car they were going to charge 2x what the parts were worth while using cheap aftermarket parts on top of shop fees. They were going to charge more than dealership was going to cost using ORIGINAL parts. When I told them that we were just going to go somewhere else they charged me $60 for a complimentary inspection that was never conducted. I will never use this company again and I would advise people not to as well.
These guys are awesome! I have been here on multiple occasions with no call ahead. They address the problem and get you out quickly. Their rates are extremely competitive. On my most recent visit I had a leaky valve stem on my tire. Their initial diagnosis was to replace it. They quickly got the replacement part and when they were taking apart the old one they discovered that the stem had been installed improperly installed. They didnt charge me for the part just to re-install the valve stem properly. They even checked the pressure on my other tires. All in less than an hour. Honest and efficient.
I’m writing this really late. Two years ago my the. Girlfriend and I were on our way down to PCB from Atlanta. We made the same trip every year to end the summer. My car starts knocking like crazy and the check engine light came on. Frantic I stop at the Honda dealership where I’m quoted some astronomical amount and they said it was probably something it ended up not being. In a panic I stopped at the auto parts shop nearby to see what my options were. I ended up doing a search and found this place. I thought I was screwed when I went in there. We were back on the road about three hours later. Trip salvaged. No insane tow fee three hours back to Atlanta. I’m thankful they were there.
I cannot say enough good about this business! I was so hot when my air went out, an hour away from home, and with no reliable mechanics in the small town I am from. They took me in at the end of the day, on a Friday no less, and got me out of there very quickly. The mechanic, Phil, was very nice and helpful, as well as a knowledgeable mechanic. The waiting room was exceptionally nice for an auto repair place. The repairs that were made now have me riding with a nice cool car and it was priced very reasonably. Thank you guys soooo much! I would recommend them to anyone that needs car repair and will definitely go back when I need some.
Complete Air conditioning system replacement on 2001 MB E Class.Services was excellent, technicians were extremely professional and knowledgeable. When the OEM control module failed, they handled the warranty replacement and installation with no issues. Great Service, would recommend to anyone!
I have been coming to Auto Masters for years they service my 2007 4 Runner and keep it running in tiptop shape they are nice courteous and very knowledgeable when it comes to auto repair. I would not trust any other auto repair shop to service my truck
Friendly service. Quick. Good value. 10% military discount on parts. The prices they charge for the parts they install is right in line with what you would pay for them on amazon or at an auto parts store. Labor is also right at market average pricing. They have a clean well kept storefront in an area very near Columbus Park Crossings. They also have a good size waiting area if you should need to use it. This is not my first experience with auto service locations in Columbus GA, I have been here since 2008, this has been the best. I intend to continue to use this business for my auto repair and maintenance needs.
Ive lived in Columbus for 6 years and wish I had found this garage from the beginning. My vehicle ended up needing a whole new engine. After issues with the trucking company that was delivering the first one, Auto Masters ordered another one with even less miles at no extra cost to me. They were considerate about the fact I was having to rent a vehicle, getting my vehicle done as soon as possible. Always called with updates every step along the way. This garage is honest, fair, considerate, and keeps there customers best interest in mind. They even came back to the shop on a Saturday afternoon after closing time to allow me to pick up my vehicle. I will be using this garage for any and all repairs in the future!
I was referred here by a friend. The rack an pinion on my 2010 Tundra went out. I had a warranty on the truck and asked them to inspect for any other damaged parts while it was apart. I got my truck back about 1 week later. When I was pulling out of the lot, my front drivers tire made a popping sound. I figured new parts and old parts may need to settle in. Turns out, my strut was visibly falling apart and missing an isolator. This was visible to a novice mechanic. I returned to have this part repaired on a new claim. This is where my experience falls apart. I get my truck back about 1 week later. On the way home I noticed my traction light was on. It went off and came on intermittently for 2 days before my first return. Joe, the manager at the time, hooked the scanner up. He told me what was wrong, a faulty sensor and reset the error code. He stated that should resolve the issue. We did this 3 times total before I gave up on them admitting they broke something. They never even offered to replace the part for a fee. It wasnt until later that I learned the reset to fix was standard. What a shame for a place that billed out almost $3k…On a side note, after reading these reviews. I noticed that several are just management advertising. How can you give yourself a 5 star rating?
This car shop is wonderful! If they look at your car and cannot help you, you arent charged a penny. If they can help you, they get the job done right and fast. I especially like that they give you immediate updates on your vehicle. The waiting area is a good size and their AC is great! They also have mens and womans restrooms and little candy machines. Will be going here for all my automotive needs.
Took my vehicle there three times in the span of two weeks because it was cutting off and not idling well and they were unable to fix it. I spent $800 fixing issues they told me that would address the problem, but it was never actually fixed. The manager told me I could bring it in a 4th time and pay more money but theyre not even sure if it would fix the problem or not.
My experience with Jeff one of the mechanics was terrible. He would not speak to me regarding my vehicle which I paid for a diagnostic. My personal opinion is they tried to take advantage of me because I’m a woman tried to over charge me for a part for my vehicle, and not military friendly. Over priced and not professional. Will never return. I wouldn’t recommend obviously, and would give 0 stars if possible.
I think I’ve found a trustworthy auto place I can take my care too from now on. Thank you automasters and david for getting my car back on the road and safe to drive for my family.
I cannot express how amazing this shop is! I was ready to go to work at 0730 this morning and noticed a headlight was out. I didnt want to risk getting a ticket, especially with it raining so hard. I went to this shop at 0800 and they were able to fix it within 15 minutes. I was grateful that they squeezed me in right at opening time and I ended up being late to work only 45 minutes. The staff was very nice and welcoming. I will definitely be back here for all future car services.
The people that work here are very friendly, down to earth, and genuinely care about the customers issues they are having with their vehicles. I brought my vehicle to them for a second opinion (I did not trust what I was told from the first place I went) and was completley satisfied. They were able to identify my jeeps issue correctly and repair it in one day. The two master mechanics Phil and Joe also showed me what was wrong and some of the things that caused it. The pricing was fair and quality parts. They ended up saving me about $1,180 from an incorrect car diagnostic at above mentioned place. Francine, she works the front desk, is very punctual with keeping you updated and a very nice person. They also have a military discount. This place has won all of my future buisness.

This place has been such a blessing for me to come across. Since I have moved from Texas it has been hard for me to find a good car repair place for a fair price and Auto Masters has done the job. Phil the manager was so helpful and did everything he could so that my oil changes and car repairs were done right. Thanks guys so much! Very cheap! very reliable. I was worried about my car because I didnt know about my car. but They are very honest. and had a inspection of my car. I had only oil change and air filter and top fluid off. I am satistied with the service.

This place is fast, friendly, and FAIR! I take my truck to them for everything. I was given a quote from another mechanic for thousands of dollars in parts and labor only to have Automasters explain exactly what I needed and my bill was less than half! This is my one stop auto shop.
Hi I was their 2 days ago for dignosttic they charge me 60 dollar some body recommend me to go their.After diagnostic they told me alternator is bad they coat me 453 doll now I just find out my alternator is pass the test 3 times I took it to advance auto part.Bad business ma,am u go na take it my good alternator and u put me refurbish one on it my car and try to charge me 453.00doll Iost my 60 doll but I never ever come back to u or recommend to any body to ur bussiness.
My girlfriend and I broke down just outside of town, and it was past closing time for the Auto Masters guys. They took our car up and looked it over, showed us step-by-step what they were doing and why our car broke down. They showed us how the parts were supposed to look, and how ours was messed up. Phil was incredibly helpful and kind, and when I commented on how great they were being to us, all he said was, well, I was raised to treat others how I want to be treated. I felt like I was treated like family there.

I have recommended friends to this shop for years, being old friends with Joe, the shop manager. After becoming employed there, I discovered from an old referral that some work done on their vehicle was terrible. After working here for 6 months, I was forced into a terrible pay rate agreement by management.
Needed someone to look at our RV Ac while passing through Columbus, GA. Diagnosed the problem and had us on our way in 10 minutes. Super nice and honest people. If we lived here we would bring all our cars here for service.

I have an old beater jeep Cherokee and the AC stopped working. They identified a broken high pressure switch and fixed it no problem. Ice cold air now! Not bad prices either.

Horrible service. Gave my dad the run around for 2 days. After telling my dad they were working on it and it was on the lift at noon on the 2nd day. Then at 1630 telling him they didn’t have time to get it. For such a small shop you would think they would know what’s going on in their shop ( so it’s either they don’t know or they flat out lied to my dad) you’d think they’d be more respectful to a retired ARMY Msgt. in a military town.
Fast, friendly service. Even though it was the 4th of July weekend and they were busy with appointments, they worked me in as fast as they could to patch my tire so I could make it back to Athens.

2022-06-20I brought my ford f250 into this shop for and A/C problem based on their TV commercial. I paid over $300+ for and 2nd level Diagnostic Test, the guy informed me that the part would be around $45 bucks and I would be ready to go. Next day no cold air. Made an appointment for the following week. The guy called me and said a/c compressor needs to be replaced with lines, $2300 more. I said the 1st diagnostic test didnt reveal this. I picked my truck up and took it to another place that charge me $200 bucks. And my air is colder than ever, without a new compressor and new lines. Thanks for nothing Auto Masters.

2021-05-17Had a great experience with this mechanic shop. They were fair honest and extremely helpful. They were able to diagnose the issue quickly and we were able to put a plan together to fix it. Even though this feel under a manufacturer recall. They helped me get the car to the dealership and navigate the recall process knowing there was no extra money to be made. Great experience!! Highly recommend them!!

2021-10-06I am always amazed at just how nice and friendly businesses like this is. From the moment walked in they made me feel as if I was family. I was answered with pleasure and very friendly staff. Now days its hard to find a friendly and welcoming mechanic. But this is and I am so glad to have found it. 2021-04-25Wow. Theres nothing but good things to say about AMR. I brought my 2010 Ford explorer to them twice now and both times Ive gotten pricer things done. They gave me a GREAT rate, always honest and upfront about what needs to be done, always on time and fast service, and always willing to go the extra mile for you. Im not from GA and have no attachments to this shop, so this is a review completely based on my personal experience. They went ahead and ordered the parts when I called to schedule the appointment which made sure they were there and ready the day I brought my car in. Both times now my car has been ready that day. I absolutely recommend trying them out. Thank you for the excellent service AMR!

2021-02-03A friend of mine used these folks for an engine replacement. I needed my Volvo worked on and with no dealer nearby, its hard to find people willing to diagnose engine problems.Looked them up on the website, Volvo listed right in the headlines.within 24 hours they looked at it, had parts ordered. once installed, called me, let know know they were testing it. Called back later to let know know there was another issue, parts ordered. Again called back, part was not sold alone, had to order an assembly.Got the car back in about a week, which is normal with Volvo. All fixed, and for less than I expected.GREAT customer service, and I they make me feel like I have known them for years.I know they took good care of my friend as well.They will be my shop for all car care that I can swing their way.

2021-05-19Auto Masters charged me almost $1,500 to fix my air conditioner, a month and a half later it broke on me. I had it fixed at another shop, they only charged me $632 for everything that Auto Masters did. When I asked the mechanic at the second shop what happened, he said that it appeared that they put together this compressor out of used parts, spray painted it, and installed it. He said no matter what when I got home to find a new mechanic. So Im going to pass the message along to any of you readers, if you want integrity and quality work done keep looking. DO NOT do business with automasters!!

2021-04-04A blown engine is not cheap no matter where you go. AM gave us a great price. They were fast. As soon as the engine came in, I was back on the road a week later. I had no connection to this place. I’m not from Georgia and went only by reviews. Mechanic shops have a bad rap for taking advantage of people. Not AM. Got another vehicle going to them soon. A+

2021-07-20I want to extend a huge thank you to David Bass at Auto Masters. I showed up at close of business yesterday for warranty help on my RV Battery and he went above and beyond to take care of me. His battery guy had already gone home for the day so he told me he would call me the next morning…and he kept his word! He did all the necessary coordination for my battery warranty and had it waiting for me at the end of the day. Outstanding service! Thanks David!
