Omg this is the best pizza in the state of Georgia!! Its frikin giant!! I will be back trust and believe!!!!! Update-- had one piece left after 3 days.. guess what? It was just as good as day one!!! Wow!!!!!! So many toppings unlike other places........ Also if you have stomach issues . This pizza wont upset it... first pizza I had that didnt upset my stomach!!!!!!!!!
Automatic is one of my places I go to routinely. The pizza crust is perfect. The red sauce is nice, but the white is the best! The salads are the a great deal. You get so much for the price. The service is always spot on. Nice people. My only negative is that two taps are Creature Comforts. With limited taps that limits the choice. Mix it up and get more taps eventually.
If I could I’ll give 0 stars. No great CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. The three pizza guys wasn’t wearing Gloves. Want be coming back there. Nope, I didn’t eat the pizza I gave it away. No thanks but I’ll just keep ordering from Pizza Hut. Black people aren’t allowed at this restaurant. You can’t park there’s no parking area.
Ordered a gluten free pizza and a regular pizza for pickup last night. Very accurate with the estimated time it would be ready to pickup. The gluten free crust was so delicious I had to ask my partner to taste it and compare to his crust to make sure it was actually gluten free! My biggest complaint is that they charge more for additional toppings on a GF pizza than a regular ($0.75 vs $0.50) but they were very generous with the amount of toppings they put on.
Ive been coming here for a few years now and havent been disappointed once. They always serve DELICIOUS pizza. I usually get a couple slices to go because they are inexpensive, have a good thin crust, which I like, and have generous toppings. Staff is always friendly and recently, I received excellent customer service from the business owner as well. He was helpful, prompt, and courteous. Thank you so much!!
Automatic’s take on a chicken Parmesan sandwich is our go to meal on most Friday nights! They slice up the chicken breast in bite sized; diced chunks. The large pizzas are a great bang for your buck and taste fantastic to boot. Definitely give them a try if you want great pizza or the best chicken Parmesan you’ve ever put in your mouth!
Coming back from New York, I was craving really good pizza. And this is the closest you’re going to get to that style in Athens. Crust was delicious, good amount of cheese and toppings, but I do wish they put more sauce on it. Otherwise, delicious! Prob never going anywhere else for pizza
Quite possibly some of the most delicious pizza I’ve ever had. Very close to NY style with fresh dough, crispy crust, and topped with a tasty cheese/sauce. Little Italy was my favorite when I moved here but Automatic definitely takes the win. Staff is always friendly and pizza is always ready rather quickly.Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for NY style.
Good quality pizza with a nice thin crust, tasty sandwiches and good service. Specialty pizzas or make your own are both good. Not much seating indoors, but the outdoor seating is good when the weather is nice. Park in the small lot behind Normal Bar if the tiny side lot is full.
Great pizza! Little on the greasy side but thats kind of how I like it. The bottom pizza crust is very thin and the crust itself was crunchy (in a great way!). We ordered the chieftain- $31 for a 20-inch Pizza...wish they had something mid-size like a 16 or 17 inch. Will definitely be returning!
Their pizza is the best Ive had in Athens. The crust is perfect it has just the righr chew to it. Their sauce is great and allows you to taste the toppings. They serve cold beer and its great place to sit outside and people watch in Normal Town. On top of the food and the view the service is pretty near perfect.
The food is always delicious! Some of the best pizza in town for sure! Salads are yummy as well. It would be great if they would allow for online ordering. Sometimes you cant get through to place an order and the wait times can be abnormally long. Your business is booming- please invest in this!!
Quick and fantastic! High quality, and fresh ingredients made this trip a little slice of heaven! Would highly recommend as an alternative to your normal lunch routine as they serve customizable single slices. For those of us who enjoy a good New York, thin crust, slice - this place is perfect for you.Highlights...Great NY style pizza (Super fresh ingredients!)Attentive, friendly, helpful staffA really cool and comfy venueFor more detail continue reading below...Atmosphere...Automatic Pizza has been on my list of restaurants to try for many months. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a phenomenally helpful and engaging staff who are eager to recommend their favorite combinations and help out in any way they can. Despite the small size of the venue, they have worked hard at making it feel as spacious as possible. With a vaulted ceiling and outdoor seating it can comfortably accommodate a fair sized crowd, without you feeling cramped. Most of the seating is for smaller parties (2-4), but the picnic tables outside could be pushed together to accommodate larger parties (say 6-10 max). The food...I tried three combination single slices, which were all better than I had hoped for. I choose all three of my favorite meats pepperoni, Italian sausage, and meatball (sorry vegetarians, I cant speak on the veggie slices). All three I had finished with garlic and fresh basil (and yes it really was fresh - none of that dried stuff from these guys). The pepperoni was excellent, and sliced to a medium thickness, piled onto my pizza to make every bite full of flavor. The meatball was also excellent, clearly made fresh/ in-house, the meat was perfectly seasoned and crumbled generously. Finally, while the Italian sausage slice was milder than I expected as there was no red pepper added to the meat itself, it was not sweet like many other places I have tried. Once I had added some red pepper flakes (provided with cheese on the tables) it truly made for a delicious slice (lucky for those who dont like spicy food, the sausage would be a great pick for anyone!). My slices came out in about 5-7 minutes after ordering -no long waits here- with the crust crisped to perfection. The staff (again... because they were so great)I had brought the dog I am caring for along with me, and the staff member who took my order suggested that I sit around back to get me and my pooch out of the cold and the wind. Great recommendation, because I would have never noticed the small patio in the back without his direction. While waiting for my food, the same staff member brought out a bowl of water for the dog without me even asking (talk about attentive service). I also got to talk to a kitchen staff member as he worked in their prep area; we shared a few laughs as I watched him prepare all of the dinner-rush ingredients, all super fresh; they certainly arent trying to hide anything here!
A nice addition to Normal Town. My wife and I just visited for the first time and tried a couple of slices and a salad to share. The slices were thin crust, tasty and made with nice fresh ingredients. The bacon isnt the normal tiny crumbles that you typically get on a pizza, but nice large pieces of bacon. The salad was decent but not exciting. Pricing is reasonable. Ill definitely go for a slice again.
Fantastic local 🍕 pizza place with good whole pies, fresh 🥗 salads, sandwiches, and calzones with good ingredients, fresh 🧀 cheese and spices. Love their outdoor seating with an awning, quick service, and friendly employees. They also have ♿ handicap accessible parking, entrance, and restroom.
***NO VEGAN FRIENDLY OPTIONS*** Got my pizza order wrong twice in a row on the same order. Quality was not very good. Staff didnt seem to care and didnt want to fix my order, stating that Parmesan is not cheese. I did get a good laugh out of this despite my hunger after another hour of trying to get my pizza... I would describe the taste as extremely bitter and overcooked to a rubbery consistency. Probably the worst pizza Ive had aside from ketchup on toast. Papa Johns can make vegan pizza however you like and it tastes SO MUCH better for a fraction of the cost. Also, YourPie is all over town and is a thousand times better than anything else, and it has vegan options. Unlike Automatic Pizza, they will make your order however you like! :)~
Automatic Pizza is awesome! Great price for great pizza, and the veggie sandwich is pretty good too. They have cool retro decor and give plastic animals instead numbers for your table. Theres not much seating and the parking lot is cramped and hard to get out of, so walk if you can.
I went here a couple of months ago when there didnt seem to be a large crowd, and the bars werent open yet. I ordered both a meatball sub and a slice of pizza. Unfortunately, it took FOREVER, like over 30 min. I was so disappointed as the meatballs were still cold in the center, and the pizza dough wasnt fully cooked. Im tempted to give the restaurant two stars, but I recently went back, and had a much better experience. Regardless of the time of day, just be prepared to wait forever.
Pizza was just OK, nothing outstanding, big pieces. No place to park even to pick up your pizza; only 6 places and 1 of those is a handicap parking only. I guess its OK for people who work in the area or students who live close by. Service was snotty, as if to say , You should be glad we are here to sell you pizza! 1st time customer and last time customer.
Pricey but you get what you pay for (in this case, good pozza) and its pretty damn close to real New York style pizza (according to my Bronx Irish Catholic in-laws). Great for families with kids who like a laid back place to enjoy a mom wine or dad beer (half pours). Also great for people who want to grab a slice and head over to the fire behind Normal Bar.
I am incredibly disappointed in my experience with Automatic last night. And its not the first time... When I go for a quick slice for lunch, its fine because they arent busy and you get a fresh slice right out of the oven, but every single other experience has been a complete disaster and nightmare. Last night was GAMEDAY. the big champ game. Wait time was 2 hours to order out a pizza. Cool. I get that theyre busy. No problem! Well.. I called about an hour after I ordered it to check on when my pizza would be ready to make sure it wouldnt be ready early and sitting there getting cold.. they put me on hold for 10 minutes, finally hung up because it was obvious they forgot about me. Called back 5 minutes later, they tried to put me on hold again, so I told them I was just on hold for 10 minutes and I only want check on my order and when it would be ready. They STILL could not, or would not, give me that information. So I go in 1 hour and 45 minutes after I placed my order (early based on what they told me).. my pizza was ice cold and stale, yes.. STALE. Exactly what I was trying to avoid with a simple phone call, all they needed to do was be efficient enough to be able to answer a simple question, and they couldnt even do that. I also ordered pepperoni on their large 20 inch pizza.. I kid you not, there were about 6 pepperonis on the entire thing!! Some slices didnt have any pepperoni at all.. Youve just lost pretty regular customers. Bravo.
This place is a rip-off. My wife and I like different things on our pizza so we each get 2 toppings on half the pizza. This place charged for 4 toppings. The idiots there only answer was that is what it rings up. Themanager was of no help. His answer was I just work here. Never again will this place get our business. I hope the owner knows how this place is run.
Automatic Pizza… If you don’t want people in your restaurant an hour or less from closing time, then don’t let us in and put us through an unfriendly experience with your unhappy staff. Have it be to-go orders only after a certain time, or whatever else you can think of. Cutting off our water supply and whatever other tactics used to get us to leave (loud heavy metal music) is just rude and unfair for us paying and tipping customers.

2022-02-07Ate a couple slices that was great. Small dine in area, so the cold air comes in. Good for quick bit and date night. Staff are friendly and food gets out quick. Pricing good for the area.

2022-03-17The absolute worst Margherita pizza ever. Dry as a bone, hardly any cheese, little sauce, no fresh basil. Had I opened the box when I picked it up I would never accepted it. Huge disappointment. Weve had their plain pizzas and they are way better.

2021-12-06Typing one handed as I enjoy my slice. Greek Salad is wonderful. Plenty of Romaine and just the right amount of iceberg. Looking forward to lunch hours returning.

2022-05-10Great tasting really thin crust pizza. I ordered the meaty pizza and wife ordered the wayfairer (vegetarian pizza). It was a decent prize with huge servings plenty of left overs so it was a great deal for dinner and more. The place is small which is not too bad coz you can eat pizza anywhere. Good staff who are helpful. Thanks good staff!

2022-05-12This is really, really, really good pizza. Fantastic dough, just the right thickness, the right amount of cheese, and the pepperonis were on point. If you like small, crispy pepperonis this is the place for you. My new spot when I work at the hospital.

2020-02-16We had a party of 7 at 7:30 on a Friday night. There’s very limited seating, but they have the option of getting it delivered or just bringing it over to Normal Bar, right next door. The table that opened up at Automatic wasn’t big enough for all of us plus our pizza, so it worked out very well!We got 2 20” pizzas to split between 6 people. One person got the chicken parmesan sandwich that looked delicious. The pizzas were perfectly cooked and generously topped. We got mushrooms, olives, and pineapples on one of the pizzas (plus a couple slices with the Beyond sausage—the vegetarian in the group gave it a thumbs up). On the other pizza, we got pineapples and peppers. It’s a cute local place with good pizza. Great for splitting between big groups. We stuffed ourselves and still had a slice leftover. Definitely recommend!

2022-06-09This is probably the best value pizza in Athens, at least in western portion of town. Everything is high quality and the portions are generous.
