Trendy female black-owned restaurant in Ponce City Market. I visited on a Thursday for an after work networking event. The vibe was good. They had $10 drink specials. I got the BHC Punch that consist of vodka, grapefruit, peach, lemon, and strawberry. They’re known for their vegan cuisine. I’m a carnivore, but I gave the truffle fries a try. As a lover of truffle fries, these were very basic. I didn’t care for the “shoestring” style because they were super thin and didn’t pack too much flavor. The staff (bartenders, chef, and waitresses were cool, but could have definitely been warmer). Ample paid parking in the garage. Pay attention to your parking location and route to prevent getting loss.
Really enjoyed my time here at Bar Vegan. The food slutted me out. And I’d come back and try the rest of the menu. The drinks were strong and the vibe was right. My Philly cheesesteak really surprised me how cheesy and tasty it was. I’m still craving it. My friend devoured his boneless wings. There’s a good amount of food for the price. Music is nice and chill. We went middle of the day/middle of the week so it wasn’t busy.I would go again!
I took my husband (100% meat eater) today for a surprise. He was first apprehensive, but when the food came he considered becoming vegan😂. He loved it! I’m am so thankful for this place! Alex was our waitress and she was phenomenal! We will be back very soon!
The service here was TOP TIER!! I got the 3 count jerk taco & my friend got the fried chik’n sandwich. Everything was amazing & our server Jessica was outstanding & accommodating, she even described her favorite dishes!! We definitely will be coming back soon, bar vegan has gained a permanent customer!!
The food is fantastic but I have some issues with this place...So much plastic:All the silverware is prepackaged plastic cutlery. Every drink is served with a plastic straw in it by default, they dont even ask. Many of the sauces come in plastic containers, and the ketchup is in plastic packets. Even all of their plants are plastic.It just seems ironic and counterintuitive.I feel they missed the point, and it comes across as ingenuine to the sustainability movement.Atmosphere:It is called Bar Vegan for a reason. Fun decorations and even a live DJ when I was there. The bar area is lively. Theres a more sit-down area in the back by some big windows as well. Music was a little loud for me personally.Food:Everything I tried was a home run!The food really is incredible, some of the best vegan food Ive had in a while. The brussel sprouts, elote corn, and chicken sandwich were my favorites. Omnivores will have no complaints here!Conclusion/TLDR:Perfect place to go with friends and get some drinks and truly incredible vegan food. Lively Atlanta atmosphere too, at the cost of some plastic waste.
I absolutely loved the customer service at Bar Vegan! My Line Sisters and I decided to celebrate our 18th DELTAversary here and everything was awesome! The food was great and Marcus, our server, provided great customer service. The establishment had great music and it was very clean. The ambiance was awesome! I will definitely return.
This place is upstairs in the brown building if you have trouble finding it. The place is very chill during brunch hours. The yellow drink was the vegan whiskey sour and it was strong. The red drink was the strawberry bourbon smash, and that one was more on the fruity side. We also had the chicken tacos and I think they were the best part. The food was very flavorful. The only sad part was that there is no dessert during brunch hours. I will definitely be back so I can try the desserts :)
My fiancé and I visited here while we were in town from Chicago, and they did NOT disappoint! The DJ had the place rocking with good music, the staff was friendly and prompt, and most importantly the food was so good! Ill definitely make this place a priority each time I visit.
Pros and cons. I gave 4 stars because of the food and the manager lady that helped us. The waitress was very helpful as well. The food is delicious. Everyone please taste their sweet potato totz, OMG its delicious !! They were out of some of the things that I heard were a hit here like the cheesesteak egg rolls. I ordered the jerk chicken tacos. If you dont like hot/spicey foods then dont order the jerk chicken. Its hot. Last time I tried to get into Bar Vegan there was a 2 hour wait. This time I made reservations as it was my daughters bday. We arrived and the restaurant was packed on a Monday! They had no record of my reservation so I pulled the email up. They had no choice but to honor it but it took almost 1 hour to get two tables cleared for us. They were nice to give us free champagne but the waitress charged us for my daughters drink when we were told it was on the house for the inconvenience. They come to you with a computer like device so you can pay the bill. It only shows the total and not the break down of what is on the bill. In that environment, people will just give the waitress the credit card and not care to look what they are paying for. They dont give you a receipt unless you ask for one after you have paid. Once I got my receipt I seen they charged me for things that I wasnt supposed to be charged for. I left it alone and just left. Ill return but for take out only.
Came here for the second time this past weekend. Let me start by saying the food was great! The drinks were also very tasty. But, I can’t give them 5 starts for two reasons. First, they are a bit on the pricey side for both food & drinks. Secondly, the hostess so very rudely came over to our table not even an hour into us being there asking us to “hurry up” bc he needed the table for other parties coming in. He said it had been 90 minutes when we had not even been there for an hour yet. We were having such a great time enjoying the food, drinks & ambiance & he single handed you ruined the entire experience for me. It was so unprofessional, especially since there were three other tables in our area that were available & just needed to be cleaned. If I’m here as a customer spending money, buying drinks from the bar I do not want to be rushed out of my seat to make room for the next person. Super disappointing & put a very bad taste in my mouth about the way things/staff operate here. But like I said, the food was very good & very filling. Just this one little thing out a damper in my whole experience.
Awesome vibe. Its like a club but its a restaurant. Live DJ, great music, hostess was nice. Service was great. Our waitress, Tatiana, was super wonderful. The food was good too. We had the tacos (chicken and beef) and the boneless chicken wings. Yum!!! The jerk seasoning is delicious. Must try. Great date night place.
First time and definitely not last time! Let’s start with the very friendly host. Of course today we made reservations because this place can get packed quick. Our waitress Jessica, was extremely helpful. She made sure to recommend her faves and customer’s faves. I loved her recommendation for the shrimp tacos. I paired this with the strawberry bourbon smash. I must say whoever made this drink, THANK YOU. The bourbon touched that lil dangly thing in the back of my throat! The food came out rather quickly. Thank you Bar Vegan. I will Most definitely be back!
I give Bar Vegan three stars solely because the atmosphere is amazing and it’s great for photos. Lets get into this review. First, the staff was pretty much giving we are not available vibes I came early to meet a friend And I sat and waited for over 10 minutes in the area when no one ever came. So I decided to sit at the bar because I was looking like the only place where you would get service at that time. I ordered 2 Rocktails as I waited for my friend to arrive! The drink was good but not worth $16.00! When she arrived we ordered an appetizer of the truffle fries and they were really good I can honestly say that. For the main dish ordered the cheesesteak on my friend ordered the egg rolls and street corn( Which was probably the best thing on the menu) the cheesesteak was just too bland for me and I couldn’t get past the fake cheese taste and no flavor! My friend had the egg rolls and the only reason it was good was because of the sauce otherwise dryyyyy! The street 🌽 was my favorite! My biggest problem was the automatic 20% gratuity! I mean for 134.00 I felt robbed for what I got! I probably wont revisit because there was no shock and awe for me!
One of the best drinks Ive ever had in myyyy life and it was a sexy drink. The drink in the pic is a lemon drop. If you arent a big drinker, try it. Its not overly sweet. I had the Philly steak and cheese (mushroom option) and it was great. I caught a glimpse of the chikn sliders and Im coming back for those.Ambience was very hip and upbeat. Id make this my spot during the week if I lived in Georgia.Exceptional customer service and great knowledge of the menu from the staff. Id come back for the service alone.Food was hot and good, the drinks were good, the place was clean and the people were welcoming.
I waited a long time to go after it opened up because of the pandemic numbers. Went there this past Saturday with my Sister, she is pescatarian. It was our first time there, and it was hardly anyone there. Which was good, it was actually kind of dead. The host at door gave us 1 menu. I finally got a second menu. Finally the waitress went over the drink and food menu but when I asked if I could substitute the tator tots for steak fries. The waitress said that the establishment usually doesnt do substitutes. My eye kept looking at the price and for that I should at least be able to choose one or the other. Again the price point also for the drinks, it didnt look like anything for the price........ My sister went to use the bathroom. Came back after a while and said their was no soap in the only female bathroom. The good thing is I carry a bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse.The waitress bought our food out, but I was not impressed. She disappeared, never really checked on us. I was ready to go already, I had to go use the bathroom since we got there, and I went looking for it. I found it and had to sit for a moment waited for either or bathroom male or female at this point. both were occupied. A female staffer walked out the bathroom and as I walked in I thought... maybe she was changing the soap.....but I was wrong. Guess what? Still no soap. I was shocked, that she was in that bathroom a while...still no soap. Hand sanitizer does a temporary fix but I like to was my hands after Ive been in the bathroom. I got back to the table and finally when the waitress resurfaced I let her know there was no soap......and was needing some cleaning.I will not be returning back, I get the concept but it was overpriced......for my experience first time at Bar Vegan. I dont mind paying a higher price....but the service needs to follow. You have a great idea Bar Vegan, but the staff looks like it needs some work....that really soured my experience.
My first time at Bar Vegan was amazing!! From the accommodations of our big party, to excellent food & drinks, to our Awesome waiter, Marcus; I would definitely recommend this restaurant and ask for Marcus if you can. He was very knowledgeable about the food & drinks, very patient with us, & professional! Go Bar Vegan, until we meet again😉
Truly the worst restaurant I’ve been to in Ponce. I first got the shoestring fries as an appetizer and they were lukewarm to cold, soggy and very greasy. Bad to the point where I couldn’t take more than a few bites. I got the Fancy-pants cocktail and was not asked for an ID even though I barely look 21. The drink however was shockingly very good, hence the two stars instead of one. I wanted to like this restaurant, but after paying $42 for a lukewarm appetizer and one drink (with which we were given plastic silverware to eat with) I could not recommend this to even my worst enemy.
I really liked the experience. ALL the food is vegan so you don’t have to look silly and ask like I did lol. I wouldn’t be back for the food though bc I don’t really like meat substitutes. Drinks were great tho and our bartender was very friendly. Gratuity is included in the tab. When I didn’t like my meal they discounted it which was nice. Overall good experience

The hostess Mera was super helpful and accommodating when there were no seats at the bar and the wait-list was full! Amber our server, helped us navigate the menu and made awesome suggestions. The food was tasty, the strawberry bourbon smash drink was amazing! We had the chikn and waffles and the red velvet french toast... both were great, wish we had more in our plate but....Overall it was a great experience.
The food was bomb! If youre vegan, try the buffalo wings, the sauce is top notch! Brandon was our server, and he took such good care of us! Im requesting him next time I come.

We stopped by bar vegan for a quick drink on a Thursday and we LOVED IT. The cocktails were tasty, strong and passed the vibe check. I would recommend coming here with friends on a chill Thursday night. Also the music is chill and not too los so you can still talk. Overall, a fun experience. We will be back.
Bar Vegan was very nice! Drinks are so good, especially the perfect pear. Our bartender Georgia was awesome and I was shocked to hear she wasn’t employee of the month but she was awesome! I’ll definitely be back!
I’ve been to Bar Vegan before, but today June01,2022 I came to Bar Vegan before attending a networking event. Jasmine was my server and she was extremely personable! I wanted to order a peach cobbler and she told me they were out, so I instantly got sad. JASMINE CAME THROUGH ! I was still able to get a peach cobbler which was DELICIOUS! I also ordered the beef cheesesteak with tater tots which were also delicious. This was a great experience and I will definitely be back for the food and the great service! Christian!!! Omg! Christian makes this place fun! He’s got energy and great service! I would like to recognize his people skills! He was personable. Efficient and overall just a great guy. Let me start off by saying the BEST server I’ve ever had is brandon. My boyfriend and I went to Bar vegan after enjoying our day on the belt line and this was the perfect way to end our day. Brandon recommended these amazing lemon drops that had bubbles and smoke coming from them and they were absolutely the cutest! He was very sweet and really cared about giving us a great experience and that meant a lot because they were actually busy. He recommended the Philly cheese steak and the lemon pepper wings and they were soo good! Bar vegan is definitely a vibe and I will be back! If you visit it’s a MUST you ask for Brandon. I visited this place on a Monday to treat myself. This was close to being the most delicious philly ever... if it was real meat.. The sweet potato tots are very good not sweet just tangy enough. And the bread was soft. I wanted to have a drink but they were only doing take out it was, in my opinion a little expensive almost $20 for a non meat Philly and sweet potato tots. But it was very very good I would go back
It was a good first experience at Bar Vegan. I ordered my food to go, but the atmosphere inside was very much a vibe. I’d be interested in visiting again to try something different from the menu.
The lychees drink I ordered was delicious also they allowed me to mix and match my tacos unfortunately the beef tacos was disgusting but the shrimp taco were good I did ask to change out the tacos but they didn’t allow me to and offered tater tots. My children said that the chicken sandwich was really good the corn was also nasty so I say a 3 out out of 10
One of the best vegan places Ive gone to. Brought in a friend to try vegan food for the first time and Im really glad we brought them here. They absolutely loved it. We will be stopping by next time were passing through.
Brunch is disgusting and I’m not saying that because it’s vegan. I’m saying it because it’s disgusting. I ordered a chicken sandwich it was 2 tenders on a burnt bun. And they wasn’t offering anything on the classics menu until 5pm. Vibe is nice tho for Ponce.
First time here and it was really nice! DJ on deck after 5, great music, nice vibe, and my food was delicious. My only issue was customer service. Our waitress dropped off our food and we didnt hear from her until we were ready for our check. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place!
My first visit, the seating was quick along with our waitress and the serving of our food. The drinks are phenomenal. I enjoyed it so much that I returned 2 nights later on a Saturday for a girls night out. It was a 2 hour wait for a table due to a large party so we ended up eating and drinking at the bar. The music and ambience was exactly what was needed. Bar Vegan is now on my list as one of my regular spots.

A cool spot in the heart of Atl, energy was top notch, and the food and drink service were excellent, especially seeing how busy the venue was at the time. The food wasnt totally mind-blowing but very flavorful nonetheless. I would return again just for the music and the vibes; drinks were quite lovely too.
Everything about this place was a win! We had jerk tacos, an off menu wings special, margaritas, strawberry bourbon smash, and a sidecar. The textures, flavors, sauces and ambiance hit all the right spots. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Will absolutely return.

I never write reviews, but Bar Vegan went over and beyond my expectations! From the fast service, drinks were nicely made, and the food blew my mind! Who would of knew a vegan taco would have so much flavor and on point texture. I would post pics of the meal and drinks but by time I thought to, everything was devoured😂. I definitely will be back and with a huge party at that !!!! My server was Brandon and if you don’t know then you will know that he has the best service in the A!!🔥 Request to be seated by him, he definitely keep the vibe going but showed professionalism. 10/10 WILL try again
Service and ambiance were great! We tried the chicken and waffles. The chicken was a tad bit greasy, but overall really good. I was surprised at how much the texture resembled meat! Our waitress was great. The sangria was a bit pricey but overall a good visit.
This is my second time here and both times I have been impressed 100%. The service, food, music, drinks, atmosphere..just everything is amazing. I will definitely be back again. Made a reservation via Resy for Saturday afternoon (Highly recommended to avoid waiting). They had an awesome DJ playing and the staff was friendly. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak and 5 beef tacos. They were so freaking delicious and filling. Bar vegan has fantastic drink choices, I leaned for a classic Whiskey Sour (it was amazing). Cannot wait to be back!
My friend took me here since I am vegan and have always wanted to try the place. I have been vegan for many years and know plenty of restaurants that serve awesome vegan food in Atlanta. The music was loud but the waitress was very nice. The drinks were expensive but good! The food was not good and expensive! I had the shrimp and grits that was just okay. I could not finish it all due to it not being good. My friend had the red velvet pancakes with two horrible looking chicken tenders on the side. My friend said her food was okay. They give you an hour and a half to eat. This is a great place for drinks only but remember they are expensive. I have never seen the drinks cost as much as the meal. I won’t be back though and will let my vegan friends know to not even try the food here. We have so many other options to choose from that are satisfying and affordable.
Bar Vegan on a Sunday is a vibe, plan & simple. The music, atmosphere, & drinks are amazing. The bartender Autumn really set the bar high yesterday. Ive never experienced such entertaining service from a bartender. I had a good time at the bar. If you like to chill at the bar without the club, give Sunday brunch a try. The DJ was 🔥🔥.
I went to bar vegan for the first time and will definitely be returning. I heard great things about this place, so I had to check it out for myself. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and the icing on top of the cake was the waiter I had by the name of Brandon Caldwell. He gave me exceptional service and had one of the best attitudes I’ve ever experienced in customer service. Thank you Brandon for making my first experience at Bar Vegan a time to remember!
The cheesy beef egg rolls were unreal, the truffle fries had a great rich flavor, and the sauce with the street corn was a super tasty combo. The overall vibe was good but the music was a bit loud to carry on conversation. With the feel being more upscale I found it weird that they give ketchup packets and plastic cups of sauce instead of reusable ramekins. Service was great, just be aware that a 20% gratuity is already included with your check.
I’m from outta town and came to Bar Vegan which is located on the second floor inside Ponce City Market (a food hall). I want to preface this by saying that I’m not a vegan or vegetarian so I was skeptical about whether or not I would enjoy the food. Needless to say, the food was great and the drinks were amazing. I had the “beef” Philly cheesesteak which was made with “impossible beef” and believe me, this tasted better than a typical cheesesteak. My husband had the “beef” quesadillas, and again, it was so well seasoned and delicious.The only cons would be that the drinks are very pricey and the menu is extremely limited. My drink was $18 for one of them.My server, Simone, was very attentive and friendly.Other than that, I would eat at this place again and I wish they were in my hometown so I could bring others to enjoy its deliciousness.

The staff is friendly and very helpful! Our server made great recommendations which was much appreciated. There are so many tasty options , we decided to share several different dishes and they all were phenomenal! A few favorites at the table were the Jamaican Jerk Satay, Daring Boneless Wings ,Sweet potato totz, and the Tacos! Definitely make sure you start the night off right with the Fancy Pants or Rocktail too! You’ll thank me later, I promise!Simply put, One of the best run restaurants I’ve been too. Loved this place! Not a bad place! But here are the cons.....1. Crowded af, total party crowd vibes. 2. VERY pricey, much more than what I pay at any other place in Ponce and honestly even when Ive traveled to New York to drink and dine. 3. Food was just ok and we ordered and paid in advance and our food never came out. We were given tater tots to kind of hold us over and then our dessert came out (cookie skillet) and it was hella burnt/charred. Definitely inedible. We finally got it sent again but wow that was a process that we werent really expecting. 4. The bar automatically adds 20% gratitutity to every check which is totally fine but its also nice to know that in advance too instead of sliding it in. 5. You can tell gratuities are automatically added in because there is very limited friendly service but honestly for a crowded place I think theyre doing their best. 5. They had no Jameson. Like just plain Jameson? I dont love Jameson but all my friends are industry and we all found this a little weird? And 6. NOTHING was described on the menu. Full drinks on there, including $60 drink buckets, and no ingredients were mentioned. Maybe. On multiple food items the meat alternatives were not specified. Im weird I NEED to know what it is because some meat alternatives are hard on my system. The drinks I did have were good but entirely too sweet (I had the strawberry bourbon smash and the c&c espresso martini.)Good things: 1. the DJ the night I went was so fun. 2. The crowd was mature and mostly respectful. It seemed like a millennial crowd. 3. Service was quick for drinks (except for food). 4. The spot is so cute and fun to be in. 5. The vegan whiskey sour was bitter but def tasty. 6. Vegan food options on their menu are nice, I want to see more meat alternatives show up in general in Atlanta.
My first time coming here, and even though my tacos ripped, I really enjoyed the experience. I do not think Solo was my server, but he is so charismatic and helpful. He made me laugh and feel comfortable at the bar. We need more businesses to facilitate customer service like Solo. Hes friendly and guided my food and drink choices and even suggested a special sauce. Thank you Bar Vegan, but especially Solo.

Awesome vibe for a Sunday brunch, food was good and DJ kept it popping! Only take away was the automatic 20% “service charge” after swiping it asks for “gratuity” (semantics huh?) usually that’s by people or time of day and posted so you know before the bill comes, but with one or two daytime we ended up paying extra 20% for liquor. Would rather add my own gratuity directly to my server who was awesome btw.
Visited on a Thursday after work to have dinner with friends. We had a 5pm reservation which also happened to be during happy hour. The happy hour was very underwhelming seeing as you only received $2 off a signature cocktail. I ordered the Strawberry on Sage Sidecar and the Cheesesteak Combo.The drink presentation was pretty and it tasted good. You could also taste the alcohol.The food was served in a cute lunchbox. The cheesesteak was flavorful but I wish the bread was toasted. It would have made it that much better. Tater tots were crispy and seasoned.Both of my friends ordered the Cheesesteak Eggrollz Combo and they both said they enjoyed it.Decor was nice and the ambiance was very chill.They also had a live band that started around 6:30pm.Overall it served its purpose as an experience but its slightly overhyped and definitely over priced. I dont see myself going back, but I do recommend visiting.
I had an amazing time visiting Bar Vegan! My server was Jazmin and let me tell you, she was AMAZING! She made sure my fiancé and best friend had a great time! I was craving a Philly cheesesteak but since we’re pescatarian struggled with finding one that satisfies my craving. BarVegan is the spot… but not your ordinary. Vegan food, bar with fabulous drinks, and a hip hop vibe with a DJ in the evening. Even if you’re not vegan, you’ll appreciate this restaurant.
Our server Jazmin made our first time eating at a Vegan spot easy. My husband and I really enjoyed Bar Vegan being from out of town its a great atmosphere our server was amazing friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and more. She went above and behind to recommend some of then best Vegan food ever and recommended AMAZING drinks. We will definitely be back ever time we come to Atlanta

There is a cool, modern vibe but not pretentious and stuffy. The staff go out of their way to give you exactly what you want for those picky eaters like me! You leave full and satisfied- order something to go because you’re gonna want to take some home!
Since this was my first time,Bar Vegan is a whole vibe. The service was fast and accommodating. This new spot in Ponce City Market gives you an atmosphere of a lounge or a club especially the way the music flows as well as the drinks. Try the street corn!!!! Totally recommend.
Awesome food, fun vibe and a cool staff. Our waiter was Brandon. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, he was sweet, thoughtful and gave our group great recommendations. I loved the hot chicken sandwich, and on my second visit got the Philly cheesesteak. You would never know it’s vegan! Brandon gave us drink suggestions that had everyone feeling good! Go to Bar Vegan and ask for Brandon!
The BEST vegan wings I’ve ever tasted! The staff were amazing and the ambiance was so chill! If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out.
The cheesesteak was great! Very flavorful! Our server was amazing.I had the Lemon Drop. It was $18. It had dry ice so it bubbled the entire time which was very creative! We also had the Philly egg rolls which just don’t do the whole “Philly” vibe justice. They were still tasty tho. There was a delicious sauce tucked away on the side that I found as I was THROWING my food away so look for those little gems under that paper. :) Can’t wait to come back for dinner. Space is limited but there is a nice Dj booth and the decor is edgy and fun.
Honestly the environment at Bar Vegan is unmatchable. Our server Brandon CAME THROUGH with the energy making sure we had a great time start to finish. Definitely recommend him AND the chicken sliders. The Brussels were amazing (portion size was small for the price)Definitely going to come back next time I’m in Atlanta.
The atmosphere was a amazing, good variety of music just loud and hard to hold a conversation. The food was good, portions were a nice amount. The drinks were good. I just felt they were a little pricey.

The food was amazing however, Amber was the main attraction. She made our experience very intimate to celebrate our friend. We picked a Hawks playoff day to check out Bar Vegan for the first time. It was packed.... the vibe was awesome and so was the music. If you want a more open space to eat, you can go to the bar to order food to sit just outside the bar/restaurant.We tried both totz, the eggrollz and cheezesteaks. You cant go wrong with impossible meat or anything fried!Notes: I dont know if this was because we ordered at the bar, but 20% gratuity was automatically added to the check. This is not a complaint as Im okay with it. Im sharing because sometimes people miss it.Save yourself some time and have the parkmobile app.
Besides the drinks and the peach cobbler, everything else is a no for me. The wait time for food is 40 mins or more, plus it has no seasoning at all. Just impossible meat cooked down and roll into an eggroll or a cheesesteak. Also half of the things on the menu is always out. (gave this place 3 chances) Dont get me wrong, this place has potential, due to the nice vibe and the laid back atmosphere, which is cool for a lunch date or ONLY to have drinks, other than that, its just overpriced drunk food. - Yes Im a vegan.
Absolutely love this place. It is always packed when I go so I usually sit at the bar. The drinks are sooo good, very generous pours and there are a lot of bartenders to tend to you. Great music always playing so the vibe is always great. I havent tried the food yet but I will next time. The decor of the place is really cute as well.
What a disappointment. The atmosphere is beautiful and the bar is beautiful. The prices are way too high for what you get. Its been quite a while since we were in and Ive thought quite a while before writing this review. House margarita was overpriced. The food had great flavor but for what we paid, I expected cloth napkins. When I finally asked for silverware, I got food truck plastic flatware in a plastic wrapper. The food was served in food truck paper/cardboard box. We wont be back. And yet, they have a $700 bottle of sine on the menu. Really?
The atmosphere and vibe is always on point. But the food is a no go for me. I was always hesitant to try their food, but the most recent time I went I decided to give the food a try.I ordered the Jerk Chicken Quesadilla and my cousin ordered the spicy chicken sandwich (I believe). I took one bite of my food and was instantly turned off. It was heavily seasoned to the point you couldnt taste anything else after that for a while. My cousin had a couple bites from hers and couldnt eat anymore. I will say the Tater Tots were good tho!Overall the place is great for drinks and a great vibe, but the food is a chop.

My bartender was Kai, she was phenomenal. I had the watermelon mule and it was delicious. I had the jerk chicken quesadilla. It had some kick to it and was cheesy and delicious. The sweet potato tots are probably the best Ive ever had. If youre in the ponce market. Check this place out! The music and vibe are great!
The drinks are amazing and the bartender, Georgia, is THE BEST! She made our experience worth the wait and was extremely kind and courteous even though she was super busy at the bar. I will definitely be back to visit and hopefully she will be bartending for us again.
I absolutely LOVE this place. Some of the best service I ever received every time I step into the restaurant. This place has a very diverse crowd & staff. The staff selection is wonderful & genuinely take pride in making sure you enjoy your time! Brandon in particular lights the room up every time I eat at this restaurant! If you ever find yourself in this fine establishment, definitely ask for Brandon! I must mention, I am not vegan at all , but the food is WAY better than expected. Shout out to the Cheesesteak!!

Attended the FSU Black Alumni Brunch at Bar Vegan. It was my first time at Bar Vegan and I will definitely be back! The staff was great, especially Simone, and the food was so tasty! Loved the ‘Chicken’ and Waffles!

Bar Vegan Was absolutely amazing the service was A1 and not to mention the food and drinks being great as well. The management is top tier and they have some gorgeous aesthetics as well!!! I’ve been to a lot of vegan/plant based restaurants across the United States and this is by far the worst meal I’ve ate. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I was so disappointed that I gave my leftovers to a homeless man. My meal was $100 and I swear I had better meals that was $25. When I go to vegan restaurants I ALWAYS go back, this is one I will NEVER go back to. If you are a true vegan this is not it. When I think I vegan/planted based I think of food that is mainly made from scratch not store bought processed vegan food. I am even more disappointed because someone recommended this place to me. I love supporting black owned businesses I’m not a player hater but they seriously need a new chef
This is the #1 Bar/Hang spot in Atl. I’ve been coming here ever since they’ve opened up, I have never been disappointed. If you you haven’t made it in yet, I suggest you do. The hospitality is amazing from the top to bottom. Aaron the owner did a great job putting this place together. Erin the manager of this establishment is phenomenal, she makes this place go.
I was totally feeling the vibe and was enjoying the food and drinks until I saw a nasty fly in my drink. After this I felt disgusted and it threw everything out the window. I ask for my ticket and they were still asking me to pay a service fee. Nobody apologized for the incident and I asked for a manager but I got some guy pretending to be the manager. Doubt I’ll be returning to this dirty place.
I was so excited and drove two hours yesterday to experience bar vegan because of the reviews but i was very disappointed with my experience. When I first walked up the hostess looked at me and my guest like we didn’t being there. Maybe she just have a resting face. I tried smiling but I guess that didn’t help. The egg rolls were not hot and I only ate one wing and threw the rest away. The Brussels were pretty good. I reallllllly enjoyed the dj that kind of what carried my overall experience. The music and vibe was nice plus the drinks. Maybe I just came on the wrong day
Stumbled across Bar vegan while in Ponce and ended up spending the most of my night inside. Connected with Erin and booked out the back room last weekend for my sisters birthday and received great service. Since then I hit her up twice and she always accommodates my group. Great hospitality and strong drinks and good music on the weekends.
Amber was AMAZING. She recommended the chicken sandwich and my daughter loved it. The tacos were Bomb and these Tequila lemon drops TO DIE FOR….
First time at this restaurant didn’t know what to order because I’m new to the vegan life our server Jasmine helped us and was very patient. Loved her energy ! Definitely will be coming back , love when servers understand first time customers because we can be very indecisive. The food was great ! Great spot for me to start my journey:)

Just moved to the city and wanted to try something new and different from what im used to. Our server Brandon was so helpful and patient with us picking out something we would like, and made some great suggestions. The vibe was very energetic but relaxing at the same time. Definitely going to be one of my new favorite spots for drinks after work!!
I had the MOST amazing experience at Bar Vegan. I had the avocado toast and the spicy chicken sandwich, and a bunch of amazing cocktails! Brandon gave us such amazing service. He was very kind and attentive. 10/10 would recommend this place for any occasion.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Staff is very friendly. BUT if you are going in the busy hours (open to close) make a reservation or be prepared to wait. It is well worth the wait. The light skined young lady with the braids in the front two puffs on the side and afro in the back working the bar was awesome to me while I waited on my food she kept check on me and informed me of how my food was coming along multiple times. Love this spot.

Went to Bar Vegan a little less than a month ago and had a blast! My friends and I were going to eat before a show at City Winery and this place had great service, delicious food and margaritas and we were out of there on time with leftovers and a to-go cup for our margs to take with us. I shared the chicken sandwich and quesadilla with one of my friends. Both were so good and the fries were bomb too. Thanks for a great time, Jasmine!

H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E experience. To begin, I booked a reservation and called to confirm it. Upon arrival reservation could not be found so I reminded them that I had called and was finally seated at 3:45pm. Waitress came over rushing and saying she hoped they told me the kitchen closes in 10 minutes and only brunch items were available(they did not inform me). Ordered the food saw the other table who ordered after me receiving some of the lunch items and then she said oh a few more items was available that she had not mention. After 30 minutes My food came out cold and I was told the kitchen was closed so food could not be replaced but they would refund me my ticket when I returned the plate. Waited another 20 minutes for her to come back and say you can order anything you like off the menu and we will prepare (not for free). At this point I had been there for over an hour and was ready to leave. I thought during the day it would be more pleasant but its a no for me. Very disappointed

We were there at around 1pm today. Worst place to go for dining. Waitress didn’t even care about the service. Strawberry Lemonade mocktail was served with the bottle drink that cost me $7 which in fact the price in menu was $4.99. This was a horrible experience with very nasty food. We didn’t even touch 70% of the food that came to us. The cocktail that my girlfriend got was way too bad. If you can’t provide good food and service then you can just ask for donations rather than having a open restaurant which does nothing good. We would love to donate rather than paying for the horrible experience. Waitress didn’t even care to ask why I am not having drink or my food. WORST PLACE GUYS! Think 100 times before going here!!!

The Hibiscus Margarita is so good you can’t have just one. I also ordered the Cheesesteak Egg-rolls… delicious! The bar had great music and service. (Request Brandon as your server 10/10)
I like to frequent this place from time to time. I still don’t really understand their reservations system so I usually just walk in. As expected, it’s always packed so service can be stretched thin. I still really like their drinks and the cheese steak eggs rolls are FIREEEEEE!!! I love them so much. I suggest reserving ahead if possible, but still fun with good music going. They had tables right across from the restaurant but not too far so that’s convenient in case there is no seating.
Second time here, brought my sister to try it. Had Jazmine as my server, food was good and drinks were smaller than they were the last time I was here but still good. Although the meal was good, can’t help but feel scammed because I was rudely told by my server that the service charge of 20% of our entire bill does not go to them. I went to the bar for verification and they said the service charge does indeed go to them. As a black business I wanted to show support but obviously they are just after your money. I ended up leaving over $30 for “service” after I was lied to for my money and rushed out our table. Will not be back.
Whoever is in charge of cooking PLEASE make sure they wear gloves & watch food preparation/temperature. I got food poisoning last time I ate the kale salad here. Overall a good vibe.Update: we tried it again this weekend BUT just for drinks!
Atmosphere is cool. The attraction is the decor/design of the restaurant and that’s really it. If you’re coming for food go elsewhere first and hit this place for drinks, music and a good time. The food needs work. The items are overpriced for the item itself and portion size. A menu revamp would make this place worth it.The onion rings taste freezer burnt my second time here. They were supposed to have come as an onion tower but the tower was like half a tower. My first time visiting I ordered the onion rings and they were just stale as if they were thrown back in the fryer to recook/warm them after already being cooked once.The bbq chicken sliders were not fresh either time I dined. The best thing I had both visits were the truffle shoestring fries. The cheesesteak egg rolls were too oily. Cocktails were decent.Both times I dined here I noticed majority of the people around me were eating the tacos. It didn’t click to try the tacos until after our food had arrived and I was disappointed a second time. So if you’re reading this and don’t know what to get, get the TACOS! Don’t know if I’ll be back for food. But the DJ and cocktails maybe.

First time review of this place. I’ve tried several other places and honestly cannot understand why this place is listed as one of the best. The service, starting at the door with host, TERRIBLE and he was so rude even though they weren’t busy and no one was rude to him. Literally followed us around to argue, and when we didn’t give in to the energy and instead, politely said thank you, he shooed. Wait staff seemed as if they didn’t want to be there.Now these process for this food, SAVE YOUR MONEY OR GO ELSEWHERE. It doesn’t compare, it’s not worth it, and is honestly a part of the gentrification we hate, but it’s being done by our own people, crazyyy. They put in fine print, “gratuity on ANY party no matter the size”. I can see why the wait staff operate they do now, they’re gonna get they’re cut regardless so no use in effort, right. This place is sheer robbery. Don’t go here. 0/10
Bar Vegan is the place you want to be on any given day in Atlanta. The food is top tier and the drinks are nothing but amazing. Everything about bar vegan from top to bottom is great. The vibe here is just unmatched, I completely recommend anyone to pull up.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but some shady stuff happened when I went to pay.There is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the check as stated on the menu. No problem. When I paid, the server had a handheld device and the first question was about adding tip. I was double checking to see if the 20% had been added, but I couldn’t see if it was. The server covered the part of the screen where it showed I already paid 20% with a notification icon.The icon can be moved around and was in the middle of the screen directly covering that detail. Suuuuuuper shady.
Marcus was an amazing server. He was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu items. I loved the Fancy Pants and Rise Up cocktails he recommended as well as the chik’n satay. My mom and I really liked fried chik’n sandwich too! Will def be back again. Thank you Marcus!
I really liked the food we got here- the Green Goddess pizza was really good. The service was not the best, definitely it’s more of an order and drop off food than a server who checks on you and whatnot. My son and I enjoyed it and since he has bad food allergies, it was nice to eat somewhere and not worry about a kitchen mess up, but the prices and added gratuity (which I am totally fine with) don’t match the overall experience.

This place is a scam. And I agree with other reviews here that there is shady stuff going on when you go to pay.There is an automatic 20% service fee which is their tip/gratuity. Which, fine-I am ok with! Love to do it. The chip reader will ask you if you want to add additional tip. I declined.Tell me why my $58 meal was totaled to $77? More than 20%. But I didnt care to do the math at the table, thought it was tax and all, maybe I missed the price or was wrong on some items. I was ok with it. Come home to see my card charged for 87.32? Ive got nothing but time to tell everyone I know to not support this business, and reporting them to the BBB.The food was fine, but this is so disrespectful. Never going back. A real scam, which is disappointing, because many people want to support black business and planet-friendly food.Please do not respond to this with your fake, canned message from management unless you plan to resolve the issue.

On the day I went the music was SOOOOOOO loud, I had to yell to talk to the people I went with. Im not a huge fan of processed vegan meats but everything was tasty. Lemon pepper wings were salty, bourbon wings were better. Cheese steak egg rolls tastes like an impossible burger wrapped in egg roll wrapper. Fries were really good. Buffalo chicken sandwich was the best out of everything we ordered. Very good. I didnt know that I needed Pickled jalapenos in my life but now I do.Went again, husband enjoyed it too.
First time at Bar Vegan. Im not from Atlanta but I must say the atmosphere was nice. Our waitress Jazmine was incredible. I never ate at a Vegan restaurant and came there with a colleague and she explained the menu with ease. She was very friendly and gave great suggestions for a first time meal at a vegan restaurant. I ended up with the vegan cheesesteak which was actually really good. My mistake on not telling her I cannot have onions. She quickly took the meal back after I apologized for not notifying her with a smile and had the cheesesteak back to me with no onions in under 5 minutes. Incredible customer service. She also suggested a drink that I would not normally choose. Well after about 4 of those I had to thank her for all her suggestions. Great job by Jazmine and great customer service by her as well!!! She made the experience over the top and kept my colleagues and I engaged with conversation and laughter.

Great Vibe, food and drinks were good and they did their best to accommodate. All ages were in there representing. Ill be back.Only con is that the food took long to come out. After tasting it I wanted another order of the Philly cheesesteak with fries and found out the kitchen was closed.

To go- Sunday brunch shrimp and grits. A little spicy. Shrimp are breaded with a jerk type seasoning. Corn Grits (my favorite!) For food and automatic gratuity little over $23. I did wait an hour for a to go order which seems to be the standard for to go and I was quite surprised that this was the portion size that I waited an hour for. I also wasn’t given a menu, I was verbally told the menu when I sat at the bar to order therefore, I wasn’t aware the shrimp were breaded. Definitely would’ve went with another option had I known. Nonetheless … the grits weren’t bad.

I’ve been hearing about this place for sometime now so me and my fiancé decided to go. Our server Marcus did an amazing job and made us feel welcomed to the fullest. Food was very good! Can’t wait to go back.

Bar Vegan is the best place to go to in Atlanta! As someone who is trying to get more into vegan food, this definitely checked off all my boxes! To even top it all off, Brandon was absolutely amazing! So happy, so cheerful and lifted my spirits up. Definitely going to ask for him again 🤩 Keep it up!
Vibe is A1. Great atmosphere and music. Food delicious even if you are a meat fan. This Philly girl loves the Cheesesteak Combo and Maple Brussels Sprouts. Brandon was helpful in our menu choices and prompt with providing service.

Ate here for the first time and very surprised with how normal the substitute meats taste. I ordered the egg rolls and sweet potato tots. The egg rolls were pretty good but they need to be bigger. However, the sweet potatoe tots were good! My bf had the jerk quesadilla and fries which was also good but the tortilla got soggy too quickly but overall the ambience is nice and the live DJ WAS NICE TO HAVE.
If you are in Atlanta, this is a must! Food and drinks are amazing and my bartender, Georgia, was so personable and a total vibe. You definitely got to come and see her!!! Thank you Bar Vegan for an amazing night 💕

The energy from Bar Vegan is top notice. I was visiting ATL from Jersey and everyone in the establishment made it very welcoming specially the waitress Jazmin (she’s amazing and beautiful 😍). Was invited last minute to try this spot out. Had a good time. The music and atmosphere was a vibe! The food was pretty good considering I’m not vegan. My friend said the drinks were expensive but she kept ordering, so they must of been good. Lol! I liked it, and would go back again.

While the food is great! Service is poor. How so? The website says you open at 11:30 a.m. but your employee says you won’t open until 12 p.m. so you can sell alcohol? What about your consumers who don’t drink and are coming to eat? I mean if you are not going to open on time (according to your schedule) then simply change / update your open time.
Me and my sister ate here food was amazing and the overall experience was A1.. my server Jasmine was amazing she might be the best server I ever had. She had good conversation and she’s very knowledgeable about the food and drinks definitely recommend to my friends

I think this place is paying for good reviews! Hundreds of them are on here and over the past 4 days. Was at a 3.8 when I looked a couple of days ago and for GOOD REASON! This place is AWFUL.Pros: drinks are good and strong. Decor is cute.Cons:Food tastes awful. We had vegetarians at the table, so it’s not that. It was like bad bar food. My tacos tasted like they were from Taco Bell. I couldn’t finish them. I was told it came with guacamole that never appeared.Service was awful. She was so transactional and didn’t GAF. Just kept pushing us to order more drinks. We ordered another round and she let us drink it for FIVE MINUTES then brought the check and to go cups and told us we had to LEAVE. All of the tables around us at this point were totally empty. I was floored. Told us to order more than told us to get out. Total trash.I asked them if they did anything for birthdays and she said she would bring birthday shots. They never came and I am pretty sure I was charged for them.My friend didn’t see the 20% gratuity added and the girl serving us acted like she still should add a tip. Like it wasn’t on there already. Just… wow.And the tables, lol. People kept bumping into us, and we had to constantly get up to let people by. We asked several times to please be moved and the waitress just shrugged her shoulders.I paid for myself and my friends tab for her birthday and it was $180 for 2 mains and 2 drinks?!? Lol. Biggest waste of money.Skip it! There are so many amazing restaurants in Atlanta. This ain’t it.They should pay for better training for staff and food instead of paying to bury the bad reviews. 🤷🏻♀️

My husband and I had a date day, so we went to Ponce City Market and walked the belt line. Afterwards, we stopped in and had a great late lunch at Bar Vegan. Marcus, our server offered empeccable customer service. We had the cheesecake with tots (i had steak fries). It was sooooo good. The music was popn and on point. The whole vibe gave us life and I didnt feel guilty for what I ate because it was plant based and very filling! We will most definitely be back to the Bar Vegan. Great Customer Service!!!
Brought my bff for her first time & we were engaged with Marcus. He was amazing. There are truly people who love what they do and he delivered exceptionally. Marcus is a true treasure to Bar Vegan!
EDIT: Came back for their brunch (which is only served on Sundays, previously went on a Saturday) Bar Vegan was so kind and gave us a free meal on them. Everything was great! We ordered the avocado toast, shrimp and grits, and the chicken and waffles. Def have to try those items when you go!!! I can’t wait to go back!!!I would recommend going somewhere else. Food is not good & is overpriced. This is coming from someone who has been vegan for 5 years.
Listen I must say the experience was exceptional, our server Marcus N. Was so top tier, I was shocked that he was a waiter, the level of service he provided me and my party was very VIP and I thought he was a member of management or marketing. I thought he knew what me or members of my party did professionally and he came to serve us, but it was just the exceptional service the provide. The drinks was stiff and goood, the food was goin and came out hot and quick. If you like that then you would like this place. The subtleties were a miss.Music was super loud AND it was turned up at a certain hour, we were right next to a speaker. Tried to get a hold of two ppl who were pretty nonchalant about turning it down. Until the second lady saw the look of pain on my face coming from my ears and she said she could get the manager. What an experience at bar Vegan. We are visiting Atlanta for just a few days and heard about bar Vegan as we are Vegan’s ourselves. We were introduced to Marcus our waiter who was so kind and provided great recommendations both on the menu and Atlanta in general. The food was incredible. Not to mention the drinks. Had such a great time and really enjoyed just the first few hours in Atlanta thanks to Marcus!

Bar vegan is a great spot to check out if you ever in Atlanta or want to have a chill vibe setting . The service is amazing but i recommended you ask for server named Brandon he’s amazing and work ethic is outstanding . He makes you feel like you number 1 in the place. Love it there !
Soooo, this is my 2nd time and all I can say is wow...I love it here. Marcus was our host and host he did!!! We were sooooo impressed by his drink choices and his customer service was A1...He is a major reason why we would definitely come back! The food was really good and the drinks were phenomenal. Visiting Atlanta and was excited about the variety of vegan restaurants. Decided on Raw Vegan and ordered delivery. Orders one item. It took 2.5 hours for the food to be ready to be picked up! I tried calling multiple times. The phone number on their website is slightly different from the phone number on Instagram. Either way neither worked. 3 hours after I initially placed the order the food arrived. Very disappointed. Wished I had tried one of the many other vegan restaurant options. 2.5 hours for vegan wings and fries, that’s absurd! Save your money, save your patience.
If you ever want to go out and feel like a Celebrity, goto Barvegan. The aesthetics along will impress you. The dim lighting, furniture, and music definitely sets a nice vibe. On top of that, the service is immaculate! Our host Terrence had such a sweet welcome and our server Marcus was very inviting and knowledgeable for my first visit. Now the food, BOMB! Who knew vegan quesadillas would taste so good?! & whoever created sweet potato tater tots is anointed. I joke around lol but overall my experience was Amazing! I’m happy to support this Black owned establishment, any day.

My first experience at Bar Vegan was so special! Marcus was our server & he was so attentive & made great recommendations. Definitely coming back!
There is a 20% service charge that the waiter failed to mention. He had already put my card into the machine and then left the tip option up, essentially trying to get two tips. When i asked what the service charge included he said it was split between everyone and when i asked if the tip was just for him he didn’t give me an answer. The lemon pepper wings tasted like pine sol and we were served with disposable plastic cutlery. Drinks were $16 each and the brussel spouts appetizer had 5 sprouts on it for $13. This place is taking advantage of its location and is overcharging for its food and drinks.
It’s got a great vibe without a doubt I’d come for the drinks and to hang out but I was a bit bummed with the quesadilla. Not a lot of creativity with the food I had and my party agreed it was a bit to heavily dependent on pre-made soy meats not house made. Heavily salted as well. Left me wanting more for sure.

2022-02-06The Green Goddess Pizza was incredible. It was full- wait; IT WAS PACKED with flavor and texture.. I wasnt ready for just how delicious this pizza was. The ambiance inside the restaurant was All Vibes! Great music, beautiful, vibrant people, drinks - galore, and, of course, food! If you havent, go check it out. Order that drink. People watch or meet a friend or two. The vibe is definitely there.

2022-05-03This was my first time here in Ponce City Market as well as Bar Vegan. The food was good, different but good. Service was fast, waitress was bubbly and attentive and the drinks were great. Everything was priced appropriately. I had the chicken sandwich and tots, and a lemon drop martini, delicious! The music was a bit loud. Overall, great experience

2022-07-16Brandon made sure I had the best birthday ever. We came with a party of 11 on a weekday and was seated immediately. We had a mix crowd of vegans and non vegans. My drink was amazing I believe it was the Marta express. The onion rings, Brussels sprouts, and the street corn was our favorite appetizers. I got the shrimp tacos, get it with a side of jalapeño ranch. Another favorite was the chicken sandwich. It was a great time, great vibe and music. Everyone enjoyed their food. We will definitely be back. We loved our waiter. He was so patient and understanding. He made great suggestions.

2022-02-11Ponce City MarketplaceBar VeganRating 6-10 🤩🤩🤩Based on poor service. Personally I was highly disappointed. The scenery was beautiful, chill and laid back. On a Taco Tuesday at 12:10 am the grille was completely down. We could only order a few fried menu selection, and the tacos were not available. The server wasn’t extremely friendly, she got straight to the point. After waiting forever. I tried the Bourbon Chicken wings and tots. My food finally arrived at 1:00pm. It looked so delicious until I took a bite. I tried the Bourbon Chicken Wings. My wings were so“ Cold”. The resturant was fairly empty, so I didn’t understand why, originally I asked for truffle fries. The waitress then stated my order would arrive with tots. Well I received steak fries instead. The fries were crispy and the chicken was unique. It tasted like a cold chicken nugget dumped in a Upgraded sweet and sour sauce. I loved the crunch on the outside, but couldn’t get passed the folded inside that was was so cold. If my food was hot. I would have enjoyed this dish if I was vegan. Unfortunately I got tired of waiting for my server to return. It seemed like I kept waiting forever so I spoke with someone at the bar and just left. Ponce Marketplace has so many restaurants on the premises. I refused to waste my time experimenting on a resturant that just wasn’t ready.

2022-09-20I went on a Thursday early in the day , no line , no wait. Which was definitely pleasant . Such a great aesthetic. It’s done really well here . The staff was most pleasant and attentive. The food is pretty good . Really tasty sweet potato tots .One of the best side cars I’ve ever had . I will definitely be back .

2022-03-10First time customer review, went on a Monday around 4p. Parking is limited because there are other stores in the same plaza. The restaurant is on the second floor, we seated ourselves, there was about a 5-7min wait. Server wasnt a good listener she would try and answer the question before we finished the question. Did not advise us what was not being served on the menu before choosing, everything we picked was not being served that day not sure why. The server as we were ordering would rush the order. Once we received the food, being real 10yr+ vegans the impossible meat was not seasoned to taste like taco meat it taste as though the meat was cooked and put on the taco with toppings. The fries were good the wings were okay not a fan of soy the wings can be made out of alot of other things. The atmosphere was great and looks like they put more thought into it than the food.

2022-03-27The whole place is a total vibe. The staff was friendly and attentive. The DJ was awesome. The drinks were delicious and I don’t think I had ever had something like their Rise Up cocktail before. It was delicious and STRONG. I had the satay jerk chicken and it was delicious and the spice had quite a kick. Overall I would say if I could eat here everyday or just live at this restaurant I would.

2022-07-22I visited this black owned establishment on Wednesday, July 14, 2022. It is located on the second floor of Ponce City Market. There is paid parking in different areas adjacent to this business around Ponce City Market. I believe you have to pay for parking and I’m not sure if Bar Vegan validated parking or not since I was dropped off. Other times when I’ve driven to Ponce City Market I’ve paid for parking ahead of time then parked. I did not have a reservation and I arrived early before opening time. I saw employees go in and out before opening time prepping the place. Once the establishment opened promptly at 11:30 am I was ushered in and informed I could sit anywhere I wanted. I decided to sit at the bar since this was a solo date for me. The business is clean, modern, and swanky. It’s a celebration of vegan cuisine enhanced by the neon lights throughout. They have a color changing neon sign that says Bar Vegan in one of their dining rooms. The whole wall changes color which is very creative. There is also a neon sign that says vegan as you go to the restroom. In addition there is another glittering bar vegan sign in the front of the restaurant. I must say you will never not know you’re here because it’s written in every section of the place. They have televisions near the bar so patrons can watch sporting events or currents events while dining and drinking. There is plenty of seating throughout the business with table settings all around to accommodate a nice amount of patrons. It appears they have sections in the front for guests to sit with larger parties. I’m not sure if they sell these or not, but I’m pretty sure this place gets lively in the evenings with a DJ on certain nights. The bartender was professional and straightforward. I ordered the following menu items: Dias punch, street corn, and 3 count shrimp tacos. The drink was made right away and was quite refreshing. It had a nice sweetly balanced tone with notes of grapefruit and raspberry. I was handed plastic silverware for my meal instead of real silverware. I’m not sure why they don’t use real silverware, but it could be due to COVID which is still prevalent in the world. Also it doesn’t say they’re a sustainable business, just says they’re vegan which is a difference. The food came out shortly afterward and had a really nice presentation. The shrimp tacos had a lot of pineapple salsa and avocado on them. I had to scrape some of this topping off because it was so much. The tacos were seasoned well and the toppings included were fresh and flavorful. However the taco shells were nice and crispy. The plant based shrimp was also nice and crisp. The meal also included red salsa on the side. I’m not a huge fan of vegan food, but these tacos were pretty decent and I did finish them all. I’m thankful I didn’t get 5 because 3 was just enough for a lunch portion size for someone with a normal appetite. The street corn was on the cob just like I prefer. It was decorated so well with ancho chili, Parmesan, and cilantro lime aoli. The corn was very delicious and I could tell it was not frozen corn. All of the kernels were plump and it was cooked to perfection. All of the toppings and seasoning were delicious and I couldn’t even really tell it was a vegan side dish. I like that the corn came on sticks so you didn’t have to get your hands dirty to eat it. Plus it allows you to savor all the toppings and not lose them on your hands unless you lock your fingers in public! I did notice they have a 99 health score which is superb especially since they’ve been open for a while. I did use the restroom while there and I noticed they have three restrooms. One for women, one for men, and one for all genders. I used the women’s restroom without issue since it was clean and well maintained. They did have a small selection of about 3 desserts which I didn’t purchase. They do add a 20% automatic gratuity to each check which seems to be a bit standard for a lot of black owned restaurants these days. I would recommend this establishment and the items I enjoyed to everyone in Atlanta.

2022-04-30I visited Bar Vegan this weekend! It has a really nice vibe. The customer service is great! The food was good, but the portions are rather small for the price in my opinion. All in all Id visit again!
