Went there and my friend and I were the only people there. The bread was ok and the steaks we had for our meal was all fat and grisle with little actual meat on it. I swear they cooked it on the same grill as fish because the steaks tasted more fish like than steak like. The quality of the steaks werent that impressive. The atmosphere almost seemed uninviting as well like we were a bother to the workers and inconvenienced them being there. Will NOT be going back there next time Im in town there for work.
Awesome steaks but the seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nites is to die for!! Gotta admit the first time I tried it I didnt expect much but boy was I surprised!! Fresh fish and shrimp and scallops and oysters cooked just right!! Never sitting on the line getting cold!! They keep them hot and fresh!!!
For a steak house, the steak was average at best. 16 oz. ribeye was more of a Delmonico cut and ordered medium rare came out well done. For a Friday night at 8 people were more interested in the seafood buffet, which I didnt have because it was fried fish, fries shrimp and fried oysters. To me thats not a seafood buffet.The jelapeno poppers were good. But thats not worth making a second visit for just those. I have driven past this place going to my hunt camp for the last 15 years. Now I know why they always looked closed and why I didnt stop. Wendys fast food has better tasting beef.
Food was excellent. A very good variety of food. The wait staff was very nice and courteous. The dinning area was Nice and clean. Will definitely stop in again
I just enjoyed a really good ribeye steak You know a steak is good when you dont have to add steak sauce . And everyone was friendly I will definitely be back Great job to the cook 👍
First time visiting, the soup and salad bar was fresh and full awesome. The steaks were seasoned very well and cooked to perfection. We will be back.
We went there with my parents to celebrate our anniversary in the same week. We live 75 minutes away and we always go to another popular steakouse in Baxley, but we had wanted to try here. So 3 of us decided to try the buffet. Salad bar was awesome. Seafood on the most part was small cut and very salty coating. The grease after a few bites of each started sticking heavily both taste and feel in our throats and mouths. Told the waitress and she told the kitchen about food being to cool on buffet (except flounder and steak). I think because it was not as crowded and alot of couples were eating the ayce catfish. She came back and did offer to get something hot and fresh from the kitchen. We did not accept because by then we were not able to eat it was not sitting to well in the chest. I was hoping for a better anniversary dinner. I paid for it that overnight with my hands and feet swelling tight from salt. First time visit . The staff are amazing group of people eager to please, 5 star to them ! Now comes the hard part . Atmosphere is as dull and drab as it can possibly get ! The furnishings are way out dated as the same as the salad bar and hot bar equipment , carpet , chairs , lighting etc. 1 star for atmosphere . (Total Remodel Needed ) But very clean , non the less . Now the food , Everything on the salad bar and hot bar was fresh as it gets , home made it seems , Minus the poor presentation of the both bars .(New Equipment needed badly) Now the main Entree, the steak of coarse . The ribeye 10oz , grilled veggie and baked potato .The steak cooked medium rare to profection , well seasoned ,But paper thin , a small to medium baker , very very small portion on the veggie. 2 stars for the entree . 2 stars for the price point around 50.00 for two ,with Ice tea . I do not believe they offer wine or beer etc . Last but not least would I recommend Bargra Deans steak house to friends and family ? Yes and No .Fresh and home made salad bar and hot bar items Yes ! price for value No, atmosphere No . Will we return, Unfortuately I cant say that we will . P.S. I hope this is both helpfull to the owners and guests .
This is one of the best resturants, dress steak and awesome seafood buffet. Cant complain about anything. Great service and its clean and you get Alot for the money. Family thats how your treated

Over priced. If you have had surgery and order off the menu you cannot share with your spouse. Charged 2 whole meals even though wasnt told and no signs.
If you want a good steak, Barbara Deans is the place to go! Steaks are cooked perfect everytime and the waiters are amazing! You will not be disappointed!!
Shrimp were great. Steak had so much grissel in it my husband couldnt chew it up. Other than that, it was delicious.

Not really a romatic night out for my birthday, a buddy recommend this place but our steaks was awful my husbands steak was freezer burnt and didnt even look like a steak😖😖and then you just sit with everyone that you dont know like your in a school cafeteria......was very dissatisfied!!

2022-04-09Barbara Dean’s Steakhouse was so good we visited two nights in a row! From the personal loaf of bread and cheese served to us when we sat down, to the perfectly seared steaks, shrimp, and grilled veggies, and the delightful Oreo pudding parfait, everything was delicious! Service was very fast and courteous. All of the staff is personable and helpful. If we lived in the area, this would definitely be a regular spot for us.

2019-09-22Our entire party of six went with the buffet. Let me assure that it does not disappoint. Just make sure that you are hungry if you get the buffet, as it is around $25. I had steak, and although I prefer rare/med. rare, and it was cooked medium, it was very tender and well flavored. The fried shrimp, fried oysters, and deviled crab were all delicious! The salad bar was well stocked and very fresh. My husband and other members of our party said the fried fish was very delicious and fried just right. We will definitely be going back!

2020-02-15The price doesnt justify the food.. its decent food with 3 extremely thin types of steak, but $50(without drink) for two people is absolutely terrible. This buffet shouldnt have costed more than $25 for 2 people.. the water tasted like it was contaminated, the waitress never gave my wife her bowl of lemons she wanted, completely overcrowded, and not variety on the buffet.. the people were extremely nice and they dont serve alcohol are the best points about this place.. other than that, terrible pricing for the food

2019-06-14Ive driven by this place for many years, and never tried it out, but sure wished I had checked it out before taking my Parents there for my Mothers birthday. It was extremely disappointing, the steak was greasy and gristle not just 1, but all our steaks were horrible. The atmosphere wasnt as nice as It looked to be. Our waitress, was very sweet, and knew we were not happy, and kept apologizing for the owners...it was my bad for not checking it out before using as a special occasion. The only reason I gave 2 stars was for the waitress! I guess after 14 years of living up here, and never stopping was for good reason! Sad, but next day we cooked our own steaks, and it turned out to be a nice celebration at our home! Good Luck

2018-09-21I ordered the Sirloin for 2 and it was huge! The steaks were tender, and juicy. I had the baked potato for my side item, and it was delicious. The salad bar was full of tasty food Crab Salad, Apple Salad, Tuna Salad, Pasta Salad, and last but certainly not least the fresh bread, and cheese spread is too die for! I will be back.

2018-06-24THIS is what Southern food is all about! Youll not find anywhere else like Barbara Deans to enjoy the freshest food prepared then taken from the kitchen to the buffet. The staff are always friendly and have the very definition of Southern Hospitality. Finally, no matter the time of day, the view by the lake completes the experience. This is a MUST visit restaurant if youre ever in the area so you can have the experience for yourself amd your family.

2019-05-10It was my bday dinner my wife made reservations for me. Our servers recommendations were amazing. I had the buffet and it had sirlion steak which was cooked perfectly. Our server was awesome and very accommodating of our picky food needs. One of my best experiences Ive had at a restaurant for my bday. Multiple employese wished me happy bday and it was very pleasant. We had a party of 7.
