The long wait was worth it. The wine our server recommended based off what we all got for desert was amazing. And the burnt cheesecake was to die for. I wouldnt do cheese and meat there again because Im my opinion the prices were outrageous for the portion size and I can pick that stuff out on my own for home and save money. Nice atmosphere here though and I would return for dinner or brunch.
I used to spend a lot time at this spot but since opening the new location at Howell Mill I tend to go to that location since it’s close to my house. But I enjoyed their food and the aspect of tapas where you can share is a great idea of socializing while eating. I grow up sharing everything so this concept works great for me. A great date spot.
It was fantastic. We were a group of 5 and spent about 3 hours there. We ordered several tapas and the large meat spread pork loin, chicken, sausage, strip steak) - several of us are not big seafood fans, so that was our best option. We got three of the waitresses recommendations, all were great. The only thing we didnt care for was the hummus. Go down the street to Delbar if thats what you want. We got one of each four desserts to share - all were very well received!Food was very reasonable (cheap if you ask me) ~$40/person. Could be a lot less if you dont gorge yourself for 3hrs.Service was excellent, but a bit slow, which is partially why we spent 3hrs there. Waitress was attentive, but (I assume) the kitchen was a bit overloaded. It was packed the whole time we were there. Also ordered 3 bottles of wine. EXCELLENT wine list. Why not 5⭐? Im really really picky and have very high standards. Make no mistake, this place delivers and Im sure you wont be disappointed!
Came there to say to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a great time. We had Kendall as our server and she was great at making sure she had all of our orders. She was really patient with all of us as well lol. I ordered the Salmon board which has smoked salmon and that was really good. For anyone who doesn’t know, tapas are small portion of meals. Smaller than the average appetizer. You order the tapas before your lunch plate.Overall good the food was good and the restaurant was in a good area.
We had reservations at 6:30, and when we arrived, they were busy and we’re not seated until 7. BUT! The moment we were seated - we had great service with Megan on the heated patio. We were seated at the outside bar and enjoyed it so much. Thank you to the staff for improving and creating a table space for us during a busy time of night. We will definitely be back!
The food was great but we went to celebrate my daughters birthday which I had told them when I made the reservation. They never once acknowledged it! Towards the end of our time there the lights were lowered and she asked if they intended to sing, hoping not of course. But that, and the last time getting seated in a busy hallway after waiting 30 minutes past our reservation time leaves me less than impressed.
We ate here for my cousins birthday. When we called to make the reservation the hostess offered to keep a cake for us if we planned on bringing our own. This alone made me want to spend more at their establishment. The Atlanta for scene is becoming less connected to the community and this gesture felt like old Atlanta. The food was delicious. We ordered almost everything on the menu. AND EVERYTHING WAS SOOO TASTY. The full paella is really big yall just so you know. The atmosphere is always a good vibe.
My friend and I were so excited to come here We made reservations a couple days in advance for 8pm (Saturday). First thing we noticed when we sat down was both of our plates had food particles stuck on them. My friend told the waiter and she gave no apology, she just said that’s fine I’ll get you new plates. We thought this was odd but oh well at least we got clean plates. I can tell you this is not authentic Latin tapas. I figure they had a short supply last night because all our tapas ordered were short in quantity. Our $14.50 steak was a super thin, almost comical slice of meat, not the pieces I see on the photos from other patrons. Seriously it was about 1/8 thick. Our shrimp a la Planche had only 3 pieces of shrimp instead of the four pieces per all the photos as well. The Rest of the food was fine but we felt we were cheated by this restaurant and left hungry after a $100 tab. The waiter did not even bother to mention any shortage or the fact they were busy, they simply tried to hide it from us hoping we would not notice. Poor service and the food is not worth the hype or price. I find that most of these restaurants in Atlanta focus more on the ambiance and decorations and the food comes second, which is a shame. I’d rather go to a hole in the wall in Miami and have some real tapas (at a fraction of the price) than what we were served last night. We were really disappointed in this experience.
My friend and I came on a Sunday around 6:30. There was plenty of bar seating so we sat there. Food here is always good and fresh. I always get the croquetas and the steak with truffle. They have a great selection of wines by the glass, especially reds. There were 2 bartenders working and they were hustling. We had to wait a little longer for our food but that’s to be expected on a busy Sunday night! They still gave us great service. I highly recommend this location!
We were looking for a covid-safe place to enjoy dinner outside, but in the dead of winter thats been hard to find. Barcelona had a lovely open-air patio with heaters, so we could enjoy the fresh air without freezing. Dinner and drinks were wonderful, we enjoyed every bite we tried. Service was great, food was delightful and the vibe was perfect. Cant wait to return!
Make sure you check with the server at the beginning of the meal to get the Tapas you want. This evening they were out of multiple dishes that we ordered. Very disappointed. Would not recommend going until they can figure out how to properly order inventory to support current business. I would not come back.
My husband and I were recently in Barcelona, Spain so we were excited to try this restaurant! We were not disappointed! We had the lightly fried calamari, patatas bravas, croquettes and chorizo and figs. My top choices were the calamari and croquettes, but they all tasted excellent! Loved the wine selection and sangria! Will definitely be back!!!
The first time I went to Barcelona off Howell Mill, I wasnt very impressed. There was nothing in particular that I didnt like, I just wasnt impressed by the prices and the atmosphere. It was simply okay and that was how I felt. I recently went to Barcelona in Inman Park for a friends birthday party and I was blown away. Our server was JR and to say he was amazing would be an understatement. Because there was more than 6 of us, he told us about the family style tapa menu option they have for big parties. Basically, you pay $35, $45, or $55 for family style tapas. Instead of everyone ordering separately, JR asked all of us what we liked and didnt liked, and catered the tapa selection to the things that fit our table best. The down side to this is that they dont tell you what tapas you are getting but that doesnt even matter because they bring so much food that you couldnt possibly not have something to pick from. This style of serving changed our night from a simple dinner to an entire experience. I know that we would not have had that much fun if we ordered separate tapas ourselves. All the guesswork was removed and it was so much fun. It was my friends birthday so I brought a cake and they brought it out to the table on time and even help cut and serve it. It is always really hard to pick a restaurant for a large group (especially when you have picky eaters (one of my friends only eat chicken tenders and fries smh)), but even she enjoyed it bc there was so much to choose from. For all of my large party needs, I will be going to Barcelona in Inman Park. JR, you were amazing, thank you for helping make my friends birthday special
2nd time going here. Good location and vibes, but had a rough experience- They werent prepared for our reservation, and sat us at at table for the wrong amount of people- Brought us a bunch of food we didnt order, and didnt bring us a bunch of food we did order. Just seemed really disorganized- You couldnt hear anyone talk, and the chairs were oddly uncomfortableIm usually not a nitpicky dude, but just my 2 cents. Probably wont be racing back any time soon
The outdoor dining area is very relaxing. They had great music on sound system. The hanger steak was absolutely delicious!! Be prepared for mobile ordering only. They do this in an effort to cut down on cross contamination during COVID 19 times, which is much appreciated. The gal Kacie that sat us was very polite, and our server was fantastic too!
The food is amazing here, truly some of the best flavors I’ve eaten in tapas. However, I would highly advise against ordering takeout here. Even for tapas, the portion sizes were laughably small. I don’t have an issue with the portion sizes when I eat at the restaurant, but obviously due to Covid, we haven’t been eating out and have been ordering takeout. As soon as I opened up our order here, I let out an audible laugh based on the size of the fish and steak that we received. To pay $13 for the size of the fish that we received, and the portion of steak that we received are kind of absurd. Even when you compare my images to the other images at the restaurant, you’ll see that the size we received was smaller.Again, Obviously the dishes will be small because it’s tapas, but they take out orders don’t justify the price. However, I’m still giving four stars because the food is absolutely delicious. I’ve never once had a problem with the flavor of anything (except perhaps the acorn squash, which didn’t have much flavor- but the smoky sweet sauce with it was delicious).
Great tapas but skip the seafood paella.Hanger Steak - Delicious and perfectly seasoned. So tender you can cut it with a butter knife. It was slightly over cooked compared to pics I’ve seen as there was no pink in the middle but still some of the best steak I’ve ever had.Patatas Bravas - Anything with their aioli sauce is just amazing. The potatoes are a must try.Croquetas - Easily the best part of our dinner. Crunchy outside and creamy inside served with the aioli. There are 4 to a plate so I’ll be ordering double next time.Broccolini - Just ok but not much flavor. It was a toss up between this and the brussel sprouts. I’d pick the brussels next time.Seafood Paella - Disappointing. We were told it is a cooked to order item and would take about 45 mins which was fine since we were enjoying our tapas in the meantime. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our full order and when it was brought out it was way over cooked. The crunchy rice bits were good but that was it. The seafood in the shells was burnt to a crisp and stuck to the inside of the shell. The prawns were completely dried out and almost inedible. The calamari was so rubbery we just chewed and chewed until it broke down. We had already waited that long and didn’t want to wait for a new one. We really aren’t picky people so we ate it but it is definitely not something I would ever order again. Too expensive to be so subpar.Guns and Roses Red Sangria - It was delicious. Fruity without being too sweet. I enjoyed one with the tapas and ordered a second to go with the paella but it never came out. It was on our check but I caught it and it was removed before we left.Would come again but would stick to just the tapas and drinks.
The vibes are great here on the patio, super fun environment but thats about it. Decided to come to this location after having a wonderful experience at the west midtown location and oh boy ill only go to that location now. First, why does nobody answer the phone here? We called over 24 hours multiple times with a change to our reservation and nobody ever answers the phone. Very odd. Second, our service was one of the worst Ive had in atl. It took 30 mins to get water which we had to remind them of several times and over 1 hour to even get our first round of tapas. We finally got our bread after reminding another server and then took 45 more minutes to get olive oil. I get theyre busy but our server forgot that we placed orders several times. Once we finally got them, the server came to our table and said Im going to check on those tapas after the tapas were on our table? We had ordered empanadas and 50 minutes later he came out and said were out. Like it takes an hour to find that out? Also all of our food got delivered to the table next to us and all of their food got delivered to us. At least we got a good laugh. We all just assume hes probably smoked a little something but yeah service was horrible. The croquettes and patatas bravas were really good though! We were here for 3 hours and left still very hungry. 5 stars to west midtown, its a better menu too (figs, bacon wrapped dates_
It can be very loud inside, so we sat outside on a beautiful evening. The charcuterie is great here, and they are generous with portions. The tapas themselves are smaller but quite tasty. The paella is large and very delicious. Its a more dry style, with lots of crunchy browned bits of rice. Overall, the meal was very pleasant and our server was helpful and friendly.
Excellent food and experience. This restaurant focused on tapas (small plates). Each plate is around 7-8 bucks. There is a wide variety to choose from, and there are certain options available only during brunch. My wife and I split 6 tapas (two brunch, two regular, and two dessert), and it was more food than we could eat. All 6 plates were delicious. In addition, the restaurant has a Build Your Own Mimosa bar, which is neat.Overall, its great food and a great way to try some very unique dishes.
I really enjoyed the goat cheese spread....we werent fans of the steak appetizer, it didnt seem to have any flavor. The portion size was minuscule for the price, definitely not for the hungry. But it had a nice patio area and we enjoyed the ambiance. The staff were friendly and attentive.... we had several different tapas and we werent impressed. We will come back and try the entrees another time, and then give another review. Prices were around 22 bucks for 1 tapa and 1 drink.SN: The general manager reached out to me express her gratitude for my feedback and her concern regarding my review on another site. I appreciate her follow up, so we will give them another try at a future date and Ill update my review then.
Wow, these people know how to cook. Everything was great for me besides the broccollini and the wood backs of the seats (with me having neck and back problems and walking all day around Atlanta already). Probably just personal opinion but not my cup of tea on the broccollini. We had a large meat plate, the garlic aioli dish ( cant remember the name), empanada, calamari, mussels, a couple cheeses, prosciutto, the potatoes dish, French fries, and we came on a twin birthday so we had three small cakes we all sampled as well. It was all very flavourful and balanced all the way down to the bread, water, and olive oil. This place is many times better than some other very disappointing and expensive restaurants in Atlanta. Staff is friendly and didnt forget a thing. 100% recommend this place.
This a great place to go with a group of friends or family. We always order multiple tapas and share which gives you the opportunity to try almost everything. My go to tapas are patatas bravas, pulpo, and gambas al ajillo. The crispy cauliflower is surprisingly delicious as well. As far as beverages their sangria is pretty good. Definitely make reservations because they are always busy. Parking is free so that is a bonus.
Stopped at Barcelona on a work trip with my coworkers, we shared several small plates and cocktails. Every dish we tried was phenomenal! At the end of the meal it was hard to choose a favorite plate! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when asked about the local food and entertainment scene and provided us with several places to check out. Barcelona never disappoints, definitely a place to stop and enjoy some food and drinks.
Ok where to start. My group between us ordered just about everything and nothing disappointed us. Some highlights.. The goat cheese tapas dish, the chorizo and fig dish, and the flank steak with truffle dish. You wont go wrong with anything you order. This is a tapas style restaurant so..each person gets 2 or 3 dishes and you pass around and share. A great way to try it all. Great vibe ! We spent a couple hours indulging on this beautiful and thoughtful food.
We had a great girls night here! It was super lively for a Tuesday! We were seated in a nice booth in the bar area so the dining area or patio might have been quieter. We did have reservations and I have tried to drop in previous and there is always a long wait so recommend booking in advance. Even with the reservation we got a drink at the bar before our table was ready. We tried a few sharing plates and everything was delish!! The potatoes with the spicy mayo are a tapas stable and these were yummmy. The beef empanadas were also pretty tasty. My favorite was the steak. It was excellent!! The brussel sprouts were also delicious. I would probably just have steak and brussel sprouts if I went back. Calamari was good and pretty standard.
This restaurant serves good quality food of a Spanish style cuisine. Small portions (tapas) are a little bit pricey, but their free (and delicious) bread and olive oil compensates for it. Their wine selection is a paradise for wine lovers, although the beer variety is small. Service is sublime. Our server was always there for us and she was really helpful when we had to choose a wine.I’m definitely coming back here!
I liked it a lot. Quaint restaurant (in terms of feel. Its actually pretty spacious) with lots of tapas to share. The tapas are truly taste-only portions so keep that in mind. It was very busy when we went; you may want to call and make a reservation. Nice sized bar area, good drinks. Outside patio area aa well. You can buy wine from their sister location across the street and bring it in. Free valet parking
We greatly enjoyed our time in Barcelona Wine Bar! The variety of wines is very good, mostly from Spain. The food was fresh and tasty, large selection of tapas, quite a lot of vegetarian options. Interesting kraft cheeses can be found on the menu as well, you can pick a variety to try.The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. Wed be happy to come back!
Great food, love the tapas menu and the wine choices, the paella was a little burnt but I can say it was the only thing that was slightly wrong. The waiter was attentive and polite and even went out of his way to help us take pics! More than any of that I was so impressed by how they kept my purse safe when u left it there by accident that evening. They even called to check up on us after we picked it up!
On weekends I would highly recommend reservations. Also keep in mind that everyone has to be physically present at the restaurant before they seat you as well due to the high volume of people waiting. Overall the ambiance and servers were very informative and nice. They have a great selection of wines and unique tapas. Due to the tables being small(for 2 people) I would recommend you order only 1 or 2 tapas at a time and share them so your table doesnt get unpleasantly crowded an you have room lol. I will definitely go back. Across the street is more restaurants and if you dont want dessert there just go to the Authentic Gelato spot across the street. You wont be disappointed.
I had friends come into town. I wanted to treat them. I heard parish was a good place. I was mistaken. I have never felt so unwelcome to be somewhere. The host was abrasive and seemed offended we were there. He scoffed at us when we said we didnt have a reservation. So after a drink and continued poor service. We left. We came upon Barcelona. It was so cute. Donnie immediately made eye contact and greatest us. Welcomed us in so warmly. Informed us they were also doing brunch. Such a 180 from what we had just experienced. We were sat with Cullen. Who immediately came to our table. He provided some AMAZING suggestions. Got some of his favorites. Donnie even came back to check on us again in the middle of our meal. All the other servers worked as a team. Which came across in the PHENOMENAL service. The prices were also fantastic. And the food. I am speechless. Truly. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I will return.
Delicious bourbon drink (called whiskey root) - check. Cheese board - check. Very unique dessert (Olive oil cake) - check.Came here on a whim with a friend. We sat outside for a great girls night on the patio. Everyone was dressed to the nines and we had some amazing dishes (watermelon salad). One of the staff came up and brought us a free dessert! Turns out he was the general manager. You wouldve never known, he was down to earth, friendly and had amazing knowledge about how each dish was made. Id come back for more!
I always have an above average experience at Barcelona. Gabriel took care of me today. He reminded me of the social distancing guidelines the institution is still following as he served me at his clean uncrowded bar. He was expedient and personable with a ton of tapas menu knowledge. I had to give compliments to the chef whom I discovered is Michael. They went above and beyond for my quick visit and I will definitely be back to be served again. The wine list is extensive from New Zealand to Tuscany. I will definitely be back to see Gabriel! Thanks man!
My friends and i went on a saturday night so it was packed, the wait was 2 hours and after waiting 45 mins we asked the hostess if splitting up the tables would be faster he assured us our table would be ready in another 5 mins which turned into 20 more mins but he originally told us 2 hours so no problem. we were sat outside in the cold and rain but they made sure to have heaters and tents out which helped with not getting us wet but it was very cold.. other than that, the food was great! my husband and i both got paella which was good and fresh. the red sangria is was great.
I absolutely love this place. I have taken friends here on numerous occasions when its usually busy. The staff has always made room for me and the food/wine has never disappointed. Twice Ive been with someone who doesnt eat meat and there are plenty of veggie options to fill your belly. Also it was my buddys birthday and we had the choice of complementary champagne, a shot, or dessert. The cheesecake was delicious! Also Ill be thinking of the sheeps cheese for at least a month. See you soon!
My daughter and I love this location. We often go when we have something to celebrate. We went recently to celebrate my daughter’s new job. We had a great time. The food was on point as always and the service was impeccable! Jerome the manager was very hospitable and attentive. Thanks again Barcelona for making a celebration a great time!
We had two sangria pitchers and my beloved gambas. I am not a shrimp person until now as the gambas are THAT delicious. We split the paella which was great. We only got a half size as we had lots of cheese and meats before that.As a former hostess of another restaurant, I would encourage you to get a reservation as that makes everything easier. We usually come on the weekend and put on name down on the list and get a drink across the street until the restaurant is ready. We like to sit at the bar too if that is easier than a table. Sometimes the bartenders will stand on the bar and pour liquor down your mouth if you ask haha.
Barcelona wine bar is a excellent restaurant for tapas, I had 5 different types of them and I was amazing, I do have a preference for the potatoes. My wife and I also, had a paella it was really good but just a bit salty for us. The service is great, I highly recommend the place...
Always a joy to eat and drink here. Our most recent visit was memorable, our server was knowledgeable, very friendly and chatty and gave us a great wine suggestion when the one we ordered was out of stock. The food was delicious, we ordered a meat and cheese board, wagyu steak, paella. The paella could have been seasoned a little better but other than that we enjoyed everything we were served!
Met up with friends, 9 of us in total. The food was great, presentation really good and even though the place was slammed the servers were ON IT. Our only complaint was how loud the music was. It was impossible to have a conversation without shouting at each other. Dont get me wrong, I liked the music they were playing just not at dance club volume.
Made a reservation got their 5 minutes before the reservation and still had to wait30 minutes to sit at a table, service was mediocreIt was my birthday and they said they were going to bring out a dessert when myhusband made the reservation and it took over 20 minutes for the dessert and I didn’t even get to eat it because my Uber was outsideAlso after eating appetizers they left all dirty plates on the table for a whileThe food was delicious though
This is totally about overall service. The food was solid and great wine selection.I ended up sitting at the bar. It took over 30 mins for a bartender to provide a menu. Once menu was given to me it took another 20 mins to order. It was A very inattentive experience. I want to try the other location but not sure if I will.
I am transported back to Spain savoring these Patatas Bravas with the perfect crispy touch on the outside and soft in th inside, just like my mothers, and I rarely eat potatoes. The Rosemary and Orange Gin & Tonic reminds me of the popular establishments dedicated to these kinds of drinks in Spain and I could go on. Great experience.
I have nothing but Kudos & high praise for the Barcelona wine bar, after a very spontaneous recommendation from my lady, who said it was one her favorite places to dine. I was absolutely amazed by the impeccable taste, delicious flavors and uniqueness of their well crafted tapas menu. If more restaurants followed in the footsteps of the Barcelona Wine Bar, they’d be better for it. Side note, I must give our waitress Katie, her accolades as well, she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, had great customer service and treated all of her patrons with kindness & gratitude as I observed her correspondence with other patrons. Katie is definitely an Allstar member of the Barcelona Wine bar team. I am definitely a lifetime customer moving forward and very thankful for my lady’s recommendation & a fantastic experience.
I loved this place, the patio setting was super cozy, it was a cold night and they have this beautiful fire pit to keeps us warm.Tapas were delicious, specially the one with steak, I cant remember the name, our server recommended it and she wasnt wrong, it really was amazing.Their sangria was awesome, I dont like sweet drinks, and this was perfect. The place is beautifully decorated, a lot of details in the walls. It was perfect for a night out with friends.
I have dined at both locations with this one being the first and it became our go to spot unfortunately now I dont think I shall go again. First the welcome staff was on point. The Bartender had an attitude. After waiting 20 minutes she finally came over and ask what did we want. We told her our drink order and she was arrogant and condescending. She returned and both drinks were wrong. We closed our tab and went to our table but she stood there to check if I gave her a tip. I did 20percent even though she did deserve it. The food was excellent. I chalk it up to young people too busy on their phones and gossiping about their relationships. The old staff was professional. My bill was 200plus for this encounter including the food, I would be nice if I felt like I had a 200plus experience.
My first time visiting BWB - easily one of the best restaurant experiences Ive had in Atlanta. We arrived in the area about an hour before our reservation so we got to enjoy a couple of the bars across the street that surround a open courtyard area - excellent for people watching! Our table was out on the front covered patio area. We selected 8 various tapas, each one excelling in presentation and flavor. The staff were very personable. Highly recommend for a date night, guests, or a solo visit.
Nice experience but long wait for food. Lovely ambiance but can be a bit crowded with small tables. Next time we would ask to sit near the fireplace or fire pit for the outdoor seating. Food was very tasty and waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a nice experience
!!UPDATE!! I feel much better after sharing my experience with the owner. He expressed sincere concern, apologized, assured us that the matter had been rectified, and he made an effort to keep our business. I can appreciate his appreciation of the business he receives from everyone that visits his establishment. And for that, I intend to return. My Mom, fiance, and I visited Barcelona after viewing our wedding venue on a Sunday afternoon. We were rushed out after spending close to $200. The picture taken was of the bread. It was funny because the first serving of bread was neatly placed in the can/bucket. But my fiance was not satisfied with his two orders of topas so he asked for more bread. The second serving appeared to be half a loaf thrown on top of the bucket. It was no big deal. We just thought it was really funny so I took a picture to capture the memory. Well, after the final experience and looking back at the picture, I can clearly see a server glaring at us. He was not our sever. But our servers were no better (Apparently 2 servers are required per table). I do NOT recommend this establishment.
Place is nice, service is good as well as the food. However there were a couple of things to improve in my opinion. First it is a Spanish restaurant and believe it or not they didn’t have PAELLA and second their crispy calamari didn’t have much calamari it was just lots of fried bread crumbs.
I’m new to the area and I stopped in with a friend to grab a couple bottles of wine to take home. I’m familiar with the DC location so I already knew what wines I wanted. Jonathan was SO sweet end helpful! I wasn’t sure where to go to purchase my bottles and he went above and beyond to help me out. Then the lady behind the bar told me about the bottles they had on sale, so I ended up getting a fantastic rosé for half cost! Thank you guys for a pleasant experience, I’ll be back!
Terrible service - good food. We made a reservation for dinner and we got our table hour and a half later. We had to wait in the sidewalk all the time with no available sitting to wait.We ordered tapas and wine. They brought a couple of tapas that we didnt ordered and they brought the wine after we had finished the tapas already. We ordered dessert but we had to ask for utas well. It seems like they dont know you need them to have the catalan flan or the cheesecake.
Food was really great. Some combinations I had never tried before. The chorizo in a plumb sauce was to die for. Coming and sharing/trying food with a friend or SO is definitely the move. Also mentioned we were celebrating a new job and a pay raise and they gave us free Cava to celebrate which was such a nice touch but also absolutely delicious. The amount of different wines and dishes to try is plentiful. We had an amazing waitor. We felt very happy at the end of the night.
My experience here was beyond awesome especially for our 1st time. We were welcomed and seated by Jerome. He was very welcoming and his demeanor was extremely professional. We enjoyed the tappas and the drinks were too notch! Kudos to Jerome and the Barcelona staff my sister enjoyed her birthday dinner to the fullest. We will definitely be back to visit
We went here on Friday 1/1. The service was good and attentive, but the food wasn’t fresh. The steak tasted like it was literally made hours ago, the sauce on it was dried up. The calamari - same, just wasn’t fresh food, and the dish was chewy and cold. We also ordered ham and cheese croquettes and they came out better. Same with potatoes - they weren’t hot or even warm and weren’t soft. The wine and the cocktails were good. Food wasn’t worth the money we spent. Overall poor experience :(
We went here with friends for our anniversary. The patio seating was perfect. The red sangria was ok, a but watered down. The waiter marked up our menu for us with things that had gluten in them which was so thoughtful. The mussels, branzino, hummus, okra, and charcuterie was phenomenal. Our waiter Alex was great.
This is an awesome place to grab a bite, dinner or just a drink. Barcelona accommodates extremely well regardless the size of the party. I’ve been there for larger reservations which they excelled beautifully & on Valentines Day where they made my date feel like it’s… Valentines Day! The wine selection is great for the price point & the tapas are way underrated. Go check them out ASAP!P.S can’t wait for y’all to bring back 1/2 off bottle Wednesday’s!
This place is amazing! Not for just its food (which is amazing in itself), but for its awesome customer service. Last month my friends and I was there for an early lunch. My friend ordered a meal that never arrived. The manager, Chris, came over to offer his sincere apology for the oversight. He was so insistent on making it right, so he discounted our meal for that day and offered her a free meal upon our next visit. Well we contacted Chris to let him know that we would be returning today. True to his word, he immediately remembered us and the situation. When we arrived, he had taken it upon himself to make reservations for us and arranged for an on duty manager, Paula, to come to our table to acknowledge us by name. She, too, was extremely pleasant and welcoming. We were so impressed with the extra steps Chris made to insure our experience was smooth and pleasant. It warmed our hearts to see a manager take such pride in upholding his business representation. I give Barcelona Wine Bar 5 Stars across the board!!!
I ate here for the first time recently and everything was amazing! We tried a wide variety of the tapas plates, a couple large plates, and even dessert - and all of it was phenomenal. I mentioned my peanut/nut allergy and the manager Casey came out to assure me she would take care of everything and that nothing that came to our table would have nuts/peanuts. Casey came out to check on us a couple times and service felt personalized and professional. Wait staff, food (hard to pick a favorite), and drinks (I recommend the bourbon spice rack) were all great! Definitely will return many more times to come!
I think ratings on here are made off the popularity of the place, and not the food actually tasting good. The food was soooooo underwhelming. Not only that we got sick off the food that was served to us. The service received was not great at all. We weren’t checked up on in a timely manner to see if we needed anything, or a refill on my lemonade. We just had to wait and get the attention of someone else. Would not recommend this bland, unseasoned food that appears to be created for a palate of a senior citizen
Came here just for drinks. They are trying to be unique and creative with the ingredients in their cocktails that their drinks ends up tasting like leaves or flower petals. Not horrible but not pleasant either. Oh, and their drinks are extremely tart like warheads.Tip: just stick with their wine or beer menu.
Came down from Raleigh, NC. Boy was I glad my girlfriend found this place. Ordered about 10 different plates and couldnt beleive how amazing each one was. When one couldnt top the other, it did just so. If great environment and food/spirits is your style then this is your place!
Excellent food; fantastic atmosphere. We had a lovely experience here. We were seated almost immediately, as we had previously made a reservation. Our area felt very cold with the A/C blasting down on top of our heads, but the hostess and manager were very accommodating about the potential of moving us. They ended up turning down the A/C, which we GREATLY appreciated. We shared a pitcher of white sangria and ordered about 4 tapas plates and we shared the single portion of the parrillada, which was more than enough food for my husband and I! (The menu won’t advertise that you can order a single portion, but you totally can.) Every food item we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!TIP: Make a reservation in advance if you can.
Absolutely wonderful. Tim and Hunter took great care of us. The amazing manager, whos name I wish I remember, checked on us multiple times. Hands down some of the best service Ive had in the city. Its mostly tapas style food, so come willing to share with the table. Very diverse menu, with plenty of carnivorous options but also several vegetarian friendly ones as well. Personal favourite was the bacon wrapped dates but everything we got was great. Huge wine selection. Really solid beer, spirit, and cocktail selections. The Whisky Root cocktail I had was awesome. Beautiful space, lovely outdoor area, cool bar space, even the bathroom was nicer than most. Great place for a date night or anyone with friends or family visiting. Keep up the great work Barcelona!
Guess we caught them on a bad day. Had to flag down what I’m guessing is a manager after 15 minutes of sitting there with absolutely no help. After getting wine, and ordering food with the same manager, a server then came to see us. She not very personable. In the middle of eating, we were asked if we were done with our plates lol.Food was decent. Just wish it was a better experience.
Been here about 9-10 times in the past 2-3 years. Visited both the Inman Park and Westside locations. Bread is fresh and warm, dip is basic (olive oil only) but sufficiently good as you dont want to over-eat on carbs before the tapas come in. Stick with the tapas - only order entrees if you cannot find enough tapas that appeal to your palette. Top tapa items to try are (Veggie:) Patatas Bravas, Buratta, Hummus, Okra, (Meats:) Hangar Steak, Gambas/Shrimp, Beef Empanadas. You cannot go wrong with any of these. The service is generally pretty good - nothing to rave about but never had bad service in my years visiting both locations. Remember to reserve in advance as this location is always busy, regardless of day or time. Go here if you enjoy a lively, upbeat, young vibe and wouldnt mind chatting with your table-neighbors every once in a while. Its high energy. Also any wine from them is fabulous wine - defer to your server and he/she will do you right. Cheers!
I cannot RAVE enough about this place. We were from out of town & found this gem while walking in the neighborhood. From the food to the atmosphere to the experience, it was a top notch dinner. The tapas are all pretty hardy, amazingly presented, delicious, and leaves you wanting more. The wine list is extensive. The wait staff is very attentive. Every single thing we ordered we loved. The chorizo and figs tapa was a match made in Heaven and I could drink three sangria pitchers. Everything is THAT good and I would recommend 10/10. Very impressed and will be back regularly.
This was our first time here and we loved it we had La paella de mariscos, Gambas al ajillo, champiñones. I have to say management and service was exceptional!! Highly recommend for any work event, or just to have a place to sit down and have good wine and a great conversation.
We celebrated a birthday dinner at Barcelona Inman Park last night. Our birthday girl was a bit down, we were trying to cheer her up so I called ahead to ask for a special table near the fireplace. The Manager, Chris was AMAZING!!! He responded to our request with, I will do my very best. We arrived and were promptly seated at the best table in the house! Barcelona cares about the Guest and it shows! The food was spectacular on top of everything else. Thank you Barcelona & Chris for making this a memorable night.
This is an amazing spot if you want to enjoy the concoction of a delicious food, fantastic service and relaxing atmosphere. We loved our server Amy! She did a great job and was a pleasure to talk to. Such a professional! Everything that she recommended on the menu was spectacular! I can’t recommend this place enough! I would definitely become a regular if I lived in Atlanta.
Awesome vegan tapas and phenomenal drinks! Had the crispy snap peas, spicy and crunchy and delicious, and the eggplant, and a spicy margarita... soooo yummy! Appreciate that one of the managers/owners mentioned they can always accommodate certain food requests, but if I dont see marked options on the menu, I usually wont go there in the first place. We HAPPENED to go in for drinks and discover that there were a few tapas options free of animal products, which was great! But I generally scope out vegan friendly options online before I trek across town when travelling through an area
Thanks to the manager Paula-Marie I had the chance to re-evaluate this restaurant after a bad experience.I have to admit that either the food, the service and the location were great.I can only say this place positively surprised me this time and I would strongly suggest to stop by to try some quality tapas!
Barcelona brings Spain to Atlanta. Weve been, and this is as close to being there as you can get. Such great atmosphere, tapas, and wine! One of our all time favorite wines that we discovered in Spain is on the menu. Truly a hidden gem! Now I wonder, what other hidden gems are on the wine list? Going back to find out tonight!
Loved this restaurant! It specializes in tapas, small plates and a few entrees. We only ordered the tapas. They were all wonderful but everyone will have their favorites. Mine was the hanger steak. It was very tender and flavorful. My son loved the chorizo with figs. It was a delicious combination of sweet and spicy with a touch of sour. There are a lot of choices for tapas with everything from seafood, fish, beef, and pork. There is truly something for everyone. We also ordered the pitcher of sangria. It was one of the best I have had. Service was excellent. We did sit outside because the inside often becomes too noisy for conversation. We had 6 tapas, two desserts and the pitcher of sangria for $100. We left full and satisfied. Highly recommend.
Made a reservation for 5:00 PM but they could not seat us until 6:30 PM. It would have been appreciated to have been offered a drink or appetizer for this excessive wait. However, the bread, tapas, and sangria were all excellent, and made us forget about our long wait time.
Truly amazing place! The hostesses greeted us warmly when we came in. We had great drinks at the bar while waiting for our table, then terrific service once we were seated. The tapas menu has something for everyone. The plates are small enough that you can eat lots of different things. They’re all so good!
Food and drinks were very good. Our waiter was pleasant but slow. He didnt take our order at dame time. I didnt even realize he had taken the order, had to ask him to come back to complete our order, he eas slow in checking back, it wasnt crowded. I would go back and hope for different waiter.
My family and I spent the Saturday night before Fathers Day here and had a fantastic time. It was crowded, but for good reason. This place is amazing. The cocktails are made to perfection, the staff is polite and accommodating, the menu is unique and the food itself is amazing. We were also surprised at the affordability this place offers, considering the quality of food we experienced.
Hubby & I popped in for late lunch. Our 45 min wait turned into a 2hr wait when some surprise thunderstorm touched down. It was really freaky, the winds were so sudden & strong they knocked over umbrellas, plates, & wine glasses from all the restaurants along the street. As the employees scrambled to bring diners inside, wait times grew. The manager was amazing at finding safe social distance for folks keeping dry for the wait. She also comped us a drink until we were seated. Service the rest of our dining experience was just as awesome. The food was excellent. They definitely have some of the best charcuterie boards selections in Atlanta. The tapas were nice, they have plenty with no meat(vegan/vegetarian). Im going back soon! Ohhh.. the drinks hit just right :)
The flavors were excellent, ambiance nice, execution a bit off. Not sure if it was the server or the kitchen, but something was not working. One item we ordered we had to ask for multiple times (saw it delivered to the wrong table and then taken back to the kitchen) and the last one we ordered never arrived. We finally gave up, canceled that dish and left. Empenadas very good, the appertivo board a good choice (potatoes excellent!), charred okra spices and flavorful. Would say more.....but that is all we could get....Oh, if you are going to have your waiters wear white button downs maybe suggest they iron and bleach them once in a while.....
It was really loud on Saturday night, which is to be expected because Barcelona is popular. it’s a tappa’s restaurant, so it is a little different from a typical restaurant experience: you order a bunch of small plates of different food items. thankfully they have a lot to choose from!!
Came to the Inman Park location with my husband to celebrate my Birthday, we didnt have a reservation so we were told an hr wait. Almost 2 hrs into waiting no call or text. We decide to go and see whats taking so long, the hostess tells me , “ We just texted you” I said who because I didn’t receive a text and showed her my phone. Then she looks on the IPad and says “ you have 2 people in front of you” i them ask her how much longer because you said 1 hr and its been almost 2 she says she has no idea because they have no empty tables inside or outside. I tell her thats fine to take our name off the list. As we are walking to our car, we notice a hell of a lot of empty tables! Terrible waste of time and money since we had to pay for parking!
Barcelonas was pretty good, we had the grilled hanger steak with the black truffle vinaigrette, that was cooked perfectly but for me the vinaigrette was something I was not to excited about, and its probably because I like my steak without sauce. We had the scallops that had a lot of good qualities as far as taste, texture and presentation. I will most definitely order again. The Calamari was very fresh and crispy not to mention it had an aioli dipping sauce that was really good. The beef empanadas had a very good flavor with a churchy crust that I could eat all day. The Gambias al ajillo (shrimp with guindilla peppers, olive oil and garlic) was pretty good, simple but good. I was looking for bigger flavors but its still good. To drink we had mimosas and sangrias. I will most definitely go back and try more items on the menu. Service was really good, the manager was very inviting and our servers name was Will ( very nice and knowledgeable).
Could be better. Food could be better, drinks are great! Service is pretty good. A bit pretentious, but I dont mind when the food and service are batting at a ten. When I get inconsistent food, or menu items arent available- SUPER COMMON HERE...then it gets annoying for sure. Try it but if it doesnt quite hit home it is probably because they ran out of something or the food was burned.
The atmosphere the moment you walk in is really nice; low light, dark wood furniture, large heavy curtains. Great wine selection and amazing food at a very reasonable price. The staff is very professional and made great recommendations.Parking is ok but it’s not their fault, however it’s such a quaint area that walking a block was rather pleasant... specially after stuffing my belly with great food! Absolutely recommend and will definitely go back!
Made a reservation and had maybe a 7-10 minute wait. Waitress was fairly prompt, but provided excellent service. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. I had the trout, shrimp scampi, mushrooms and meatball tapas. All were excellent. The only miscue was my wifes grilled squash was not delivered and we had to ask the waitress to get it for us. Not something I would order again. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
One of my favorite places in Atlanta. Food is always exquisite and the atmosphere is wonderful! Definitely a place for a nice evening out for a celebration, as it’s a little pricey, but the plates are beautiful and the wine selection is amazing! Cannot wait to go back at some point in the near future.

2022-02-22Barcelona has a menu filled with both tapas and large plates. Our party of 4 focused on the small plates and every dish delivered was devoured. But our positive experience actually started much earlier in the day with excellent customer service that was delivered throughout our visit. I called to make a reservation specifically for the heated patio as we needed outdoor seating to accommodate an expecting mom - reservation was made without annoyance or trying to direct me to a website. We arrived that evening and waited for a few minutes beyond our time but the restaurant was very busy for a Sunday and no outdoor tables were open. Jerome opened up a closed off section, started the patio heaters and a fire to make us comfortable. Our waitress Kayla was very attentive, pleasant to chat with and managed all of our requests with skill. The experience was filled with delicious Spanish tapas in a cozy environment and staff that you could chat with like you were long time friends. We highly recommend Barcelona!

2022-05-15There’s nothing basic about Barcelona. Everything that we had was delicious. Be prepared to wait almost an hour if you order the Paella, it takes that long to cook. Also get a pitcher of the Red Sangria. You will be glad that you did! 👌🏾😋😋

2022-07-01Really enjoyed the tapas dining outside for lunch. The red sangria is very good, not too sweet. Favorite tapas were the ham and manchego crochettes, the blistered okra and my favorite was the charizo with fig and honey. Within easy walk of the beltline trail.

2022-04-11Great tapas and delicious paella. We had sangria. Good but could dress up the pitcher of sangria with fruits like they did in Spain.

2022-05-26Wow, everything here was delicious. I recommend the ham and manchego croquetas: I could not get enough. The Spanish Tortilla (tortilla de patatas) was also great, as was the fried calamari. The chorizo in fig sauce was amazing. Oh, did I mention the croquetas? So good.

2021-11-09AMAZING experience at the Highland location. Went on a Wednesday evening. Ambiance was great, service was superb. Megan was our server. She was all things insightful of what we should order. Each suggestion was on point. From the flights of wine to the small plate choices. The skirt steak is a must try. The manager, Jerome, came around and made sure our experience was top notch....so nice and professional. THIS is my new spot. Cant wait to try more of their great offerings.

2021-12-07We ran into barcelona while walking around inman park exploring he area. im glad we did. they have such an extensive variety of tapas and all the ones we ordered were so so good. the wine flights were fun too! service was good as well. i wish we had been able sit near the bar area but we were a little too early and there was no service there yet. we got the meatballs, which is amazing when paired with their whipped sheeps cheese tapa as well. finally, the croquettes were probably one of the best ones i have ever had ever. it was a quick stop but everything was delicious and the variety of tapas was impressive. definitely coming back in whenever nearby.

2022-01-12Excellent customer service, excellent food. The only thing I have to say is that the guy at the door was not so nice, he did not ask if we had a reservation, he assumed we did not (we did have one). After that incident everything was absolutely perfect. They need Jerez for the Paellas.
