Staff was excellent. They really took care of me for an unplanned stay with local recommendations & items that I failed to bring because I wasn’t supposed to even be there. The hotel building itself is showing its age but staff does an excellent job of taking care of what they have to work with. It was clean and smelled clean. Staff also notified me after checkout when they found that I had left my phone charger in the room.
Its difficult at this time to give 5 stars due to the virus. The rooms are cleaned every other day for those that want the service. I chose this way and saw that housekeeping was gloved and careful at taking care of the room. The overall stay has been a pleasant one that I would recommend to others.
I think it was great for the price point. Friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean and the location is very nice if you want to get something to eat. Lyft is the way to go for Albany, and I didnt have any problems getting around town with Lyft. The bed was a bit uncomfortable for my taste, but Im picky about mattresses. Wifi connection is good. Breakfast is juice and honey buns. Overall, Id recommend this spot if youre stopping in Albany, GA.
Definitely will stay again if I come this way again. The rooms were nonsmoking but someone smoked in our room. They were extremely apologetic and then they used a fan to help with the air. They were accommodating with me having a toddler and just all around great experience, great people.
Appears to be newly renovated, the rooms are quite appealing, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is limited, but free. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that there was no elevator and the entrance to each room is outside. We had to lug heavy suitcases and bags up the stairs in the cold. Not a problem for an overnight or weekend stay during the warmer months, but was pretty inconvenient at that time.
The 1 star is for the nice Front Desk staff. The floors are nasty. The sheets are dingy. The wooden headboards have handprints & grease stains. The shower curtain is dingy. Its has an overall unclean feel. The pillows and mattress are flat and worn. I requested a handicap room only to arrive and be advised there are none; all are occupied. They seem to be covering and old hotel with new paint. I was moved to a different room only to encounter the same problems. I will not ever stay here again & I dont reccomend this hotel.
The receptionist was the best first impression any business could ask for. Very friendly and helpful. The room, on the other hand, left a bit to be desired. It was dark and had a very distinctive mildly unpleasant smell. The photos listed are completely misleading and dont even appear to be taken from the same hotel. It was warm and extremely muggy when I first entered, and the decor felt cheap and unwelcoming. The beds slid around the floor like they were on ice, and there were doritos underneath one of them. The floor had been recently redone, but was horribly waprrd and deformed
Should be a no star review after staying overnight on the way to Florida. We were tired and were fooled by the tucked sheets. Unfortunately, when we noticed a group of folks partying and BBQing at the pool, we should have known it meant trouble.First, the rooms are not sound proof. vehicles driving right up to the first floor were loud and other patrons did not care about their noise level. Second, the noise from the air conditioner was loud, but didnt drown out the riotous domestic dispute going on upstairs. Third, when I couldnt sleep, and got up to use the restroom, a couple of roaches scurried out.Fourth, I was looking forward to a free breakfast that might redeem a bit of an awful night, and then there was hardly anything good to eat and the coffee was not palatable.Lastly, was told that a bit of a discount would be credited to my card after we told them about the night. I got about $10 back. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!
A very comfortable room the hotel was reasonably priced for the size of the room. We were traveling through Albany, and I googled pet friendly hotels with RV parking. They only charged $20 for pets which was unbelievable but there was no RV parking but there was an empty lot next to the hotel so we pulled in there are 38 foot RV there. It was safe there were lights everywhere.
This hotel is a rare find! It is a part of the Wyndham family of brands (no, I don’t work for Wyndham). The wooden floors are a touch of class in the rooms. The beds are supremely comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a welcome respite for the business traveler like me. The breakfast is continental-plus. They have fresh fruit, Activia yogurt, sausage and biscuit sandwiches you can heat up, the requisite waffle maker, adult cereals, good coffee and tea and the best of all...a conveyor belt that cooks and dispenses fresh, hot silver dollar pancakes on demand with real butter and syrup. They often are full, so book early. Run, don’t walk to this hotel!
I would not stay at this hotel. I was only here to one night due to travel for work and my job booke the hotel without notifying which one they booked. I’m not usually picky but this hotel was just nasty. Hair and stains every where! Different hair textures on the sheets and floor. Every sheet that I pulled had a different stain on it. I didn’t even bother ordering another set of sheets. If I saw it then I knew the housekeeper saw it when she made the bed. I found a local Kmart and bought fitted sheets, comforter, 2 pillow and Lysol. I gave a point because the best thing in the room was the cable and another point for trying to make it look upscale. The yellow colored toilet and tub just threw me off wish made me even more picky about my stay. The beds were semi comfortable and when I sat down on the bed I can here the metal bottom. The curtains couldn’t close all the way so I had to use my hair clip to close it all the way. Also knowing that they allowed pets was kinda iffy for me only because u just don’t know if the pets had ticks or fleas who previously had the room. The outside of the hotel looked maintained and cleaned. I didn’t have any issues with noises outside but you can tell from the trucks parked outside that a lot of workers sleep here. To sum it all up. Stains and hair everywhere.
Stayed for one night, was given a smoking room by mistake, no change available. Resulting headaches and everything in our suitcases and us... reeked of smoke. TV turned off and on every minute or two... Not enough towels. Would definitely not stay again although the staff was very friendly.
Poor customer service overall, from beginning to end. I am giving two stars because this place looked a lot better than Motel 6. The doors on these rooms dont close all the way. There are gaps under the doors that will allow just about anything to come in. If you need peace and quiet or plan on sleeping, wrong place. There was an iron in the room but the ironing board was missing from the rack. I informed the staff and was assured that I would get one. Never saw one.
We stayed May 31, 2018 in room 103. When you get there you can’t even access the lobby. You have to book your room through a glass window with a speaker, you can barley hear. That was my first clue I should have left and booked one of the many other hotels. My youngest was cranky and tired of driving so I proceeded to get a room with double beds. You only get one room key and on entry the room definitely had an odor. My daughter said it smelled like play dough. The beds looked neat and clean thank goodness! They were however very hard. Their was a chair in the corner that was threadbare and not clean in appearance. The bathroom fixtures were rusted and there were questionable brown marks on the door. The bathroom was so small if you are sitting on the potty you can’t open and close the door. The window curtains wouldn’t close enough to not have a gap. I removed a hanger with clips for pants and clipped it to the curtain to hold it closed with some success. The ironing board was old and stained and hung on the wall which added to the overall grungy appearance of the place. It did have newer laminate hardwood floor. I didn’t feel like it was overly clean. I was thankful that it wasn’t carpet or the smell would have likely been unbearable. There were chipping paint in the bathroom and some odd fixture that hung from the ceiling over a desk that had a metal cord of some sort that went into the ceiling. The desk top itself had a large sticky looking place on it where they might have had previous hotel material posted. They have since posted material that doesn’t completely cover the sticky mess left behind. With the room being so lacking I didn’t expect much from breakfast. It was far better than expected in comparison to the room. Hope this helps. Perhaps other rooms might be better.
We come to Albany once to twice a year and this is the only hotel that we stay at. We stayed here on July 18th and checked out the next day. The rooms are very clean. The people that work there are very sweet and very caring. When we came in to check in, we had to wait for about 5 to 7 minutes. I was getting a little annoyed but when I was the front desk clerk she apologized and said that she was the only one here and she was also helping another guest. I was pleased with that statement, knowing that if we have a problem there would be help. The parking lot is clean. The location of this hotel is perfect.
Second story room was very clean and well maintained. Slight burn next to nightstand and stale cigarette odor, with no option of a non smoking room. TV remote did not work, turned on TV, but no channel/volume selection. No difficulties accommodating service dog as part of stay
I had yellow stains on my bed sheets when I arrived to my room. I don’t know why we are charged for breakfast because they don’t have any. They have a small pancake maker everything else, they bought from a store. Muffins, toast and waffles, activia yogurt, randy ham sausages biscuits; that taste disgusting. All bread are rapped in plastic. I’m from Atlanta and I came to Albany to work. I was so disappointed when I work up and came down to eat “breakfast” I’ll be ordering from Waffle House down the street the remainder of my stay here. The location is great , for the money this hotel makes the food should be way better. I will never book here again
Would not recommend it. Just not good at all. The bed was on some sort of metal foundation and sounded like someone was hitting a steel drum every time you moved. The toilet was awful. So close to the floor it felt like you were having to use a hole in the ground and the water was so close to the seat it was really uncomfortable.
In room 313 the drain in the shower is broken and takes a long time to drain the water so as you shower the water rises and after u get out the shower there is a layer of dirt on the shower floor. Secondly, the cabinets had a white substance all over it and the sink faucet was dirty. The walls were dusty by the beds and there flies in the bathroom light. I would not recommend staying at this place for the price that it costs .
I am actually staying here right now. We had to change rooms two times. The first two had a chemical smell that the front desk said was probably just the cleaning agent that was used, but believe me it wasent!!! Smelled more like a bad meth lab clean/cover up. Were on room three now. I ask for our money back and was told I would be better off to just keep the room cause it would take 5 days to return my money! The T.V remotes dont work in two rooms, hair in the sink and shower in two rooms and gum stuck to the shower head in room three. If these areas are not clean it makes me wonder what else is not clean. Front staff was rude. I ask for a managers number and was told well they wont be here till tomorrow at four and you will already be gone. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!! Stay somewhere else!! I will be calling and speaking to a manager or the owner! Please dont let the picture fool you, this is a rat hole compared to other hotels that cost $20 more!!! (UPDATE) we checked out and returned home but not before MORE problems. In the process of having to swap rooms two times my son noticed the next morning that he had left his Nintendo DS in the first room. He went to the front desk and ask and was told that no one had turned it in. He went to the cleaning staff and ask if they had found it which they Said no. NOW my question is IF the maid didnt take it and the room wasent rented out then where did it Go, and even if it was rented out then it would have had to be recleaned or at least checked since we was in the 1st room for 2 hrs. So that makes me wonder if the room was rented out and was cleaned then the maid is a thief or she didnt clean or check it good and if they didnt clean it good then, what else is not clean!!!! The manager did however call and apologize but when told about the DS she said that the staff has been their 5 years and are good at turning stuff in.... I say you have a thief but dont wont to admit it. She said that they watched the camera and seen us pull our car from room 200 and 201 side to the 300 side, why does that even matter and WHY didnt you watch and seen who entered the room and could have took the DS... Also there was old gum stuck to the shower head in room 3. Room 200 and 201 had a chemical stank and then room 300 has old gum. I will be calling to speak to a district manager or somehow get in contact with the owner. If I could give this place a -10 then I would. I also have thought about calling Albany PD and making a report of this. I cant stand a thief but apparently the Baymont in Albany has one employed!!!!
Handicap room was ok size. I did have a little trouble getting my Walker between the beds but it went through the door just fine. Bathroom was great for handicap. Ada hand holds everywhere needed. Bathtub was a step over style but they did have a shower chair that fit the tub. I would really give it 4.5 stars but maps wont let me.
Found an old cigarette butt in my bathroom. Rooms were not very clean. Did have a full line up of channels including hbo. Good location, close to mall. Resturants surround the hotel as well as other businesses. This particular chain tends to attract a certain caliber of people. This chains breakfast is also sad. Small selection of mostly unhealthy and processed. I had business in Albany and all the hotels were booked for whatever reason so grateful there was a room available on a walk in basis.
An unplanned trip for a funeral with 2 dogs is difficult at best. A quick search on the Internet for a dog friendly hotel in Albany yielded this hotel with fairly good reviews. After 12 hours in the car we were beat tired. Arrived at the hotel and was placed in a handicapped accommodating room. I was appalled with the room. I felt as though we were placed in the worst room because of our pets. Wallpaper peeling in places in the bathroom, outdated and worn furniture, filthy carpet and an unsafe feeling. I would not recommend this place at all. For pet owners, I strongly suggest you look at a KOA campground and rent a cabin. You and your pets will be much happier! I paid a little over $100 for the room in Albany. I paid $163 a night for a cabin in a KOA campground. First class!!! I cannot recommend this hotel.
THIS HAD TO BE ONE OF THE WORST HOTELS WE HAVE EVER STAYED INN. When we walked in the floors were nasty the place was full of dust everywhere. The sinks has toothpaste hanging out. Asked for towels and opened them and they had hair in them, with nasty stains. Highly recommend not staying here.
Hello Everyone,I would like to start off this review by saying that the location was absolutely perfect! I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for Albany State University Homecoming Weekend this past weekend. It was located just down the street from the Albany Mall, close by all the restaurants, and a perfect distance away from all the madness on campus. The suggestions I have for the hotel are to continue the maintenance on each room and remember to always give updated decor in the rooms. The room my wife and I stayed in was great, however the decor needed to be upgraded just a bit. The outside scenery was very pleasant and the front desk staff is more than willing to help in any way. I will be booking this place again for next year. See you all there, and thanks to Baymont Inn & Suites!
I was here for the weekend my husband booked a room online we had no problem check in was at 3 said there was a possibility we could get in a little early but if not it would be 3 oclock the girl at the front desk was very pleasant said if there was anything we needed to let her know my husband had a delivery to make there in Albany and I drove from Florida could be with him for the weekend their rooms were clean other than that it was a nice day the only thing I would have to say is I need to have a better filtration of their pool but the girl at the front desk did make sure to tell me that they were remodeling to take in consideration the rooms may not look the best in some but our room was fine whats that get it remodeled with Im sure people will have a better review I also got to meet the owners and they were also very pleasant to me and my husband so for my visit and then the first visit it was a very pleasant one thank you to the staff and to the owners for a very nice day from mr. And mrs. Perone oh and PS the girl at the front desk also was very helpful on places to visit while we were there for the weekend
I’ve stayed at many Many MANY Baymont Inn and Suites in the past but this particular site has to be the absolute worse. Being a State Employee using Corporate Lodging Card(CLC) for travel I’ve never had an issue checking in anywhere until now. The owner Dipikia Patel abuses her hotels contract with CLC to lure customers to the property. She made the statement to her staff that she refuses to accept CLCs rate and also has her staff advise CLC representatives that their systems are down when a CLC representative calls to make a reservation for a card holder like myself.. I called in and was told that a room would be held for me and I could check in when I arrive at our rate.. I drove 3hrs to Albany to play the wait game with the woman behind the counter as she continued to try to charge me a higher rate than I was promised over the phone that also reflects CLCs rate.. As a State Employee and a United States Army Veteran I am disgusted with the horrible service this hotel provided this evening. Furthermore, I had to drive through the night tired and drowsy from 8:30pm until 12:30am back to Atlanta after working all day and driving down... Two CLC representatives worked my case as much as they could until Baymont stopped answering their calls. CLC placed two negative reports in with Baymont and contracting because they’re required to honor the rates set by CLC and they failed to do so. Do Not Stay At This Hotel.. I’ll never book with them again... On another note, the parking lot has furniture all over the lot and is a serious eye sore for travelers visiting the area.. I’m sure someone will probably respond bringing up the recent hurricane but that was months ago, there’s no excuse.
Ma’am, you completely missed his point @Lawrence. Clearly you and your employees made statements and promises you couldn’t keep. It’d go a long way to make it right with the guy as property owner.. I’m a business owner as well as a big Military supporter/booster. My construction company has a big project in the area within the next few weeks where we would need 30-35 rooms for a major project. In light of his review and your reaction to it, it goes without saying that my company will be taking our business elsewhere for lodging while in the area. Btw my company doesn’t use CLC, we pay full pop.
I am originally from Albany Georgia and had to come back home due to my fathers death. The staff at Baymont was overwhelmingly wonderful. Even before I got there to check in the desk clerk took the time to guide me over the phone directly to my destination. I was treated with such kindness and respect by every staff member that I did not feel like a guest I felt like a family member. Lashira, Beverly Brenda Teneilla, Vola, and Devon I will ever be grateful for your undying Godly kindness. God above knew what I needed in order to get through this difficult time while I was there... your staff❤. Thankyou so so much. Kasha and Tim
Nice staff and very clean however because because system is down they write there rooms down but gerogia elec pays triple for a room they dont stay in leaving reg people without a place to stay anywhere they were doing reg people dirty and that why I give them 3 stars
The staff is very friendly you can tell theyre making improvements putting new furniture in all the rooms I stayed in a lot worse places for lot more moneythe continental breakfast has a lot to be desired after spending time in Hampton inns its literally a Danish and coffee I cant have danishes and I dont drink coffee literally nothing in there for me
The first morning we stayed the maid came knocking at our door I told her we only needed towels she gave them to me 3 hrs later we went out to shop game back our curtains were open all the way our air was off we left on n cut aint closed the next day I went to dr .my daughter stayed had the door cracked 3 pit bull came in every day we had to go get new keys so we were supposed to stay one more night but again keys didnt work to many problems n we were stay nights I wrote a memo n left it with the girl on duty guess this isnt the way you run your busy by not responding to the issue very upset

2022-04-19Awesome hotel and amazing people! We were broke down in Albany for a week with our animals and they welcomed us and treated us like family. Really made the situation so much better. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Thank you for taking care of us!

2022-02-27Service was great. The lady behind the counter was so nice and helpful. We were a few minutes late getting breakfast and she let us come get some anyway. The room was nice and clean. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

2022-06-10Check in was easy and the staff provided friendly and fast service. Rooms were nice for the price. Found a few hairs on towels or else it wouldve been 5 stars.

2022-01-18Very clean and convenient hotel the building itself is a bit older but the room was clean and updated. Staff was nice. However, please start offering sit down breakfast instead of ~grab and go~. I know hotels use covid as the excuse... But 2 years and a vaccine later there should be no problem in offering the complete continental breakfast that was the norm pre pandemic

2022-05-19It was an okay stay our rooms werent exactly ready by check in time but it was no problem. Also when booking we didnt see anything in the fine print about a $25 early check in fee so thats another reason why we waited. But our service with the front desk was great she was very understanding.

2022-03-31The place looks great from outside and staff was quite efficient but the first room we were put in was non/smoking but it reeked of cigarettes, so we tried another room. Mattress/bed was awful and tv didn’t work so we moved to another room. This one reeked of maijuana but so tired of moving we just opened door and aired it out. Bed was good, room was clean but lots of partying going on from 9:30 pm til after 12:30 right below our upstairs room. Husband slept through it (with help of air conditioner noise) so didn’t call office to report but I heard lots of loud talking, beer bottles clanging, etc. So will never stay here again.

2022-04-01Positive: The bed was very comfortable and the free breakfast was outstanding. Negative: Parking was alittle confusing
