This was one of our stops while on girlfriends trip. The treehouse, winery and view was the best. There was a wonderful lady on the patio singing, patio tables to sit outside while sipping the great tasting wine. Enjoyed it all and plan to come back and rent the treehouse for a couple of days.
This is not a five-star bougie, Southern California winery, this is much better and a lot more fun. It was a bit chilly but they had fire pits and live music. Theres not a large option of wines but good quality options. A very nice place to hang out with friends, relax, and enjoy life.
Go here if you wanna sit in the shaded area and drink wine. Glass of wine costs about 6$ on the cheaper side. Portion is good. They do fill the glass well. The place does not have a restaurant license. So, bring your own food. Not much area for you to walk through except the area with the picnic tables and the wooden bridge. The entire property is available for guests to walk through. Couldnt walk through the vineyard as it was too hot outside. We went in June. The grapes were too small to be seen. Go later in August to see grapes on wine. There are a couple of activities for kids. Its not much though.Restrooms are the portable potty type outside. There are indoor restrooms as well.
This place was so perfect picture of a relaxing winery. We loved it. They welcomed us and our dog. The wine was great. They had a fire pit going at noon so the place had a great smell. They had a food truck in front that had great food. They were so friendly that it made us want to try all the food they had.
Beautiful location just wished they offered small samples like other wineries provide instead of having to pay a bit for larger sample trays. I probably would have bought a bottle of peach wine but not without a small taste to make sure I liked it... part of the fun experience of actually buying directly from a winery vs at a store.
We absolutely love this winery! We came last year for the first time while staying in Ellijay. At that time, they had more wines than they do now, and we purchased several bottles of each wine to take home. We’re back again this year and we’re disappointed they’re out of all of their wines except for four. But, that’s what happens with great wines! We still enjoyed a couple of different bottles at the picnic tables surrounded by grape vines. We started with Cayuga and had Kodiak next. Our only draw back, not that it’s a complaint is guests bringing kids. But that’s just us and there’s no way to make everybody 100% happy. We will definitely be back!
This is a beautiful winery with great wine (we loved the merlot!), picturesque views, very friendly staff, cute bathrooms (that sink!), and all in a kid-friendly environment. In fact, our seven year old kept asking to go back to the winery (she loved the extensive collection of board games). An all-round great experience! Definitely recommend, if youre in the area.
The wine here is terrible. I got a tasting and decided to just pour most of it out bc it wasnt worth the alcohol and calories. Ellijay Riverside Vineyard was much better but they had fewer options. I assume people like Bear Claw bc of the setup and ambiance. That part is great. But if you actually care about the quality of your wine, lower your standards.
Great place to check out if you’re in Blue Ridge! Has nice outdoor seating by the vineyards and on a covered patio. They have live music and it’s an overall great place to spend a few hours sipping wine and take cute pictures. As for the quality of wine, I only tried one of their bottles of Chardonnay; it was ok. They were busy so the bottle we got was warm but I had no problem putting a few ice cubes in it. This was my first time having Georgia wine and it was good, but definitely not the same as wines from other more notable regions.
This is only the second winery I have been to in north Georgia but it was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the wind was in the setting is beautiful, they have live music going when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. The only thing that I would recommend is that they upgrade their meat and cheese trey.
My wife and I made this vineyard a stop while in the Blue Ridge area for our anniversary. Neither of us had done a wine sampling before, but the staff was friendly and willing to explain our options. They have several different types of wine to sample and all were equally amazing. If you need a snack, they offer a small place of crackers, cheese and pepperoni. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and live music at certain times (they did when we were there and they guy was great). They have a fire pit and other seating out near the vineyard area or you can walk by the small Creek and take pictures on the bridge. They also have a small gift are with hats, t-shirts or other items you can buy. Their wine is fairly priced and worth it if you plan to buy by the bottle. Defit a memorable place to go on your anniversary or any occasion.
Enjoyed the atmosphere! Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because one of the wait staff was super rude and thought it was funny to throw our food away. We ordered an amazing grilled meal just as we entered. Our hands were full so we proceeded to get settled at the table before we ordered wine. We placed our food at the table with napkins covering it and our purse at the table. While we were at the bar ordering our wine, only a few steps from our table the waiter cleared our table. Strange when our personal things were at the table and a couple sat at a table behind us. The manager did rectify the situation but it was the waiters rude comment versus acknowledging his error that turned me off. None the less, overall wine was great and so was the entertainment.
Safe, fun, family friendly, atmosphere. Kids colored and played games. We brought our own food and games, there was live music, other people sat under trees and had picnics. Easy to spread out, spend time outside, and enjoy the beautiful property and wine. We love Bear Claw
Wonderful people and ambiance at this very new winery. Kudos to the winemaker who we were told is making all the wines from the vines on-site planted in 2012. The frozen wine was pina colada flavored and really strong on the concentrated flavor, a little too much for us. Wines are good, not great yet. Beautiful surroundings, great fire pit, games, and a super cool tree house that you can book to stay in. To those who think the tasting is too expensive, look around you. All the beautiful surroundings and amenities are not free. The owners have invested significant amounts in making a go of this, and we should support local businesses.
It was a rainy, wet and cold day when my wife and I stopped by. There werent many people, but that didnt hamper our visit at all. The building and the views both were beautiful even on a rainy day. The wines were also very good. My wife and I are both more inclined to red over white, but their selection of whites was quite good as was the cabernet. You can also choose to stay in the tree house that was built on site by the tree house guy, which filmed a TV show about it. Overall this is worth a visit if your into wine tastings.
This place was magnificent! Dog friendly to say the least. They meant it-took care of my boy with his own water bowl, bringing it outside to our picnic table because my hands were full of great tastings & an Amish cheese tray. What a lovely day too! Before we left we took a walk through the vineyard, creek & met some wonderful people at one of the many fire pits they had going. Did some shopping inside. We could have stayed the entire afternoon. Got a little sun and admired the musicians playing. Plenty of seating inside or out!
It was fantastic! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The outside was setup nicely to enjoy the scenery. They had cornhole boards setup which were nice, some of the wood boards were pretty rough and weathered though and could be replaced. They did have all weather boards which was a nice addition. It was a great experience and we will be back again and again.
My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend in Blue Ridge that incorporated a Saturday tour of Bear Claw. When we first arrived, we were greeted with an incredible blues guitar live performance out on the patio and smiling faces behind the registers. We enjoyed wine and music before being escorted into the back where we were lucky enough to get a private tour with one other couple.Mick quickly made us realize that we were not about to be a part of your typical “stuffy” wine tour. She’s a salt of-the-earth, hardworking, no BS kind of woman and her story of how she came to create Bear Claw is inspiring. The message she wanted you to walk away with? Never settle! We drank her fabulous, never artificially sweetened wine. We walked with her through the vineyard. We touched the grapes! We laughed and learned so much. Her and her assistant Madison made us feel like old friends and we are so grateful for these memories. After our tour, we stayed around and played games outside and listened to more live music. We were so comfortable, we didn’t want to leave.Make a trip to Bear Claw! It’s an hour and a half away from Atlanta and the perfect destination no matter the reason for your getaway.
The Red wines were strictly Ok and only a couple of the white wines are worth a second glass. The ambience was good. Having the picnic tables was a good idea, however not properly implemented... slightly more effort to actually level them would have been nice... so that the wine glasses and flights did not keep sliding off
I loved my visit to Bear Claw Vineyards! This was my first trip to a winery in general. That atmosphere here was so lively and infectious. The outdoor fire pits and the live music made for a great scene. The wine tasting was quite interesting. I would definitely return. Also there COVID-19 spacing and modifications made us feel comfortable to be there.
Amazing! First time at a winery and it was so much fun! Michelle was amazing in the wine tour and provided so much interesting information. I imagined the tour would be a little boring but it wasn’t! The wines are amazing. And so much space to stay and hang out for more wine after the tour. Live music on the weekends and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be going back to Bear Claw winery and I am definitely recommending this to my friends! Thank you Michelle wishing you much success.
The atmosphere of this vineyard is really nice—you can walk near a stream, treehouse, and through the vineyard. But the wine did not live up to our expectations. We arrived as a group for a bachelorette party and felt a bit disappointed. The red wines were ok… the white wines were meh. One of them did not taste good. For the prices, especially for a bottle, we didn’t think it was worth it.
Went here with friends to enjoy a low-key birthday celebration and loved it! We had some health concerns in our group, so we wore masks while ordering and were able to utilize the picnic tables away from the main porch to take off our masks, sip some wine and enjoy the fresh air and views. I reccomend ordering the reisling or chardonnay! My friends and I appreciated that they had non-alcoholic options available at a lemonade stand so everyone could enjoy a drink together. The atmosphere is welcoming a laid back. We spent 2 and a half hours there and the time flew by!
Good atmosphere, they have 2 firepit tables on their patio. Decent variety of wine although it skews towards the sweeter side.Folks are friendly and plenty of parking space. If you care about covid precautions you likely dont want to come here though. Workers dont wear masks, few guests wear masks, 6ft rule is not observed or enforced.
This young winery is a bit limited currently, but the extremely friendly and courteous staff more than make up for any limitations in wine selection. The property is beautiful and has plenty of seating out of doors and on my visit, there was live music. The fellow playing guitar and singing, was not only good on his guitar, but sang blues and did Stevie Ray Vaughn proud. Also, he was not playing so loud that the visit became uncomfortable, as some places do. Yep, these folks are certainly headed in the right direction and I look forward to visiting again in the years to come.
The place had amazing wine and live music. Definitely worth checking them out. Lots of people enjoyed the cider beer on tap. The weather was pretty cold so the fire pit was nice as it was very crowded inside. With a few outdoor heaters, the large patio could’ve helped with seating. The girls at the bar did a good job of managing everyone’s orders but they still seemed like they could’ve used a little more help. We met lots of great people from all over which was fun.
Full but not crowded on a Saturday. Plenty of spaced out tables! They had live music and a food truck, table games and corn hole! We had an absolute blast here. Plus there was a gentleman walking around wiping the table in between uses! We were thrilled to see their care towards the customers!!
They have an outdoor fire pit with seating... theres nothing better than sitting outside on a crisp Georgia day sitting around a warm aromatic fire. The owners nephew was very friendly and was very knowledgeable about their award-winning wines. The location is beautiful and they even have an adult-sized treehouse you can rent for overnight stays.
Nice out of the way location, a little overpriced for what you get. With Blue Ridge being a tourist destination, these places dont do tastings anymore. Instead you have to pay for a flight like a brewery. And when you do pay $6 for a glass of wine, it isnt even 6 ounces.
It was a rainy Sunday afternoon so we decided to drop by. Tried a taste of all of their wines. Those who like the sweet wines were really drawn to the Kodiak. Their Vidal Blanc was my favorite, very similar to a dry pinot grigio. Their wines can only be bought on property or through mail from Bear Claw - you will not find them anywhere! So if you like one, buy it!The atmosphere is great with live music on Sunday afternoons. The covered porch allowed us to enjoy the wine, music and vine views without getting wet! Our teens played the games they have out. There was a food truck as well with delicious brats, dogs and german based fare. We really enjoyed our Sunday afternoon at Bear Claw. You must stop by if visiting in the Blue Ridge area.
If I could give zero stars, I most definitely would. My husband, daughter and myself came for a three-night stay the weekend before Thanksgiving. The first night rained continuously. In the morning, the tree inside the house was soaked, but we expected that was normal. It continued to rain as we left to get breakfast and shop. When we returned, still raining, the entire bottom floor was wet, with the rugs soaked. The loft was also flooded, with rain coming in through the hole and down the tree. As water was dripping onto the electronics behind the TV, I did not feel safe being in the house for two more nights. We cleaned up the best we could and tried to contact the owner, but the telephone number went straight to a recording that kept repeating, without a way to leave a message. My husband informed the staff of the winery about the issue and the only response was that we needed to contact the owners, who did not work on the weekends. After finding other accommodations, I continued to contact the only number provided, which was the winery, and only got the same repeating message. I also sent an email to the owners, and to date, have never received a response. Having stayed at many different cabins and rentals in Blue Ridge many years, this is the first time I have not been able to contact the owner or have any emergency information provided.
My sister and I revisited this winery over the weekend and had a great time. The view was awesome the staff was very friendly and best part, the wines were good! We did a tasting of 4 wines, though it was $14 , these were some huge pours! Definitely worth it...I will definitely be back!
Went in the fall, the weather was great. The vineyard was very nice. The staff was very friendly and knowledge about their wine. We were able to grab a glass of wine and roam around the vineyard. We walked over to check out the treehouse they have on property. Then we ended up by the fire pit and just enjoyed they another glass of wine and mid-60s weather.
Was super cool! Tons of board games available to play and giant sized Jenga on the patio is awesome. Great place for kids to come along and play. Live music! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were lots of mosquitoes though so heads up on that. Definitely recommend going there on a nice cool day.
My wife and I really enjoyed the Chardonnays and the Cabernet. The bartender who is in the family was super friendly and very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed her hospitality. We purchased three of the Chardonnays and highly recommend them. Great outdoor seating and a view of the vineyard and the Treehouse looks cool.
Beautiful views but mediocre experience. Went out and about wine tasting with friends and this place was suggested by a gentleman we met at another winery. They only had one red wine and I dont care for white so I ordered a hard cider instead of the tasting options. They were out of glasses (there were only 5 other people there besides our group of 5) so I was offered my drink in a plastic solo cup. LOL! If Im camping or in a swimming pool thats cool but since I wasnt I found that weird. Cider was from the winery we had just come from, not from this one. Maybe after theyve been open longer the experience would be better. I have a feeling the gentleman we met was sent out by this winery to drum up customers.
We had a great time at Bear Claw. We arrived very late, within an hour of closing, after a long day of hiking. Because of the time, we were only able to experience the main inside. I would have loved to experience everything they had on the patio and outside.Next time we are in Blue Ridge, we will definitely go back.
Brand new winery with beautiful tasting room, patio, and grounds. Limited selection of wines, with just one red - a buttery but surprisingly rich Cabernet Sauvignon. The oak-aged Chardonnay was one of the tastiest whites I’ve had. I did the full tasting of 6 for $23, which would’ve been exorbitant except the tasting pours were VERY generous. Keep that up! Huge firepit and cornhole boards outside. Add a floodlight to the side patio so the games can continue when the sun goes down.
Bear Claw Vineyard is the perfect place to hold events. Wines are a bit pricy and the tastings cost between $10 and $16 depending on the number of wines tasted. Most other vineyards in the area charge $6 to $8 for a tasting. Handicap access is available but awkward. You have to go through the wine making area which is very cool, Damp and the floor is slippery. A ramp leading directly to the tasting room would be much better. Overall the wines are good and worth the trip if your in the area.

2022-04-11The Little Vineyard that could!Lots of grinding from the owner to make this Vineyard come alive, and she has made something special.I have been to a lot of Vineyards, and this one just felt right. They are new, and they are growing, and I hope they make their dreams come true.I did the wine tour, and it was really educational and entertaining. The owner does every tour with her family, and they do a great job! Riley, does an awesome job as a server, make sure you give him a tip!Outside patio is great to hangout and stay a while. They have some great games and fire pits to stay engaged and warm.Lots of beautiful people here as well.Watch the sunset and enjoy a few bottles of wine, you will have a good time!I hope to see them expand and grow into an amazing place.

2022-02-22Great place to go with family and friends. Live music and some great wine. Was able to stay warm by the fire, play games and enjoy the views. Only down side is that they dont allow children on the tours and I can understand if they were babys or toddlers but I have a 10yr old that acts better than most adults. They should consider changing this rule.

2022-06-10Very nice winery tucked away in Blue Ridge. They have a good sized covered patio area where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine and live music. You can also walked around the grounds and amongst the grape vines which is nice to see. There’s a descent selection of wines although I thought they were a bit highly priced especially in comparison to other local wineries. All-in-all a good place to visit.

2022-03-31Very relaxed environment. Picnic tables, board games, lawn connect four, and cornhole. Great place to hang out and let the kids play while the adults enjoy a glass of wine. They also have non-alcoholic slushies available for kids. Definitely the most kid friendly vineyard we visited in Georgia.

2021-08-03This place was great for the whole family! We loved the large outdoor covered deck with live music. And they had tons of board games for the kids to play while we had a wine tasting. They also had a few snack options and a food truck on-site.The only reason why I didnt give them 5 stars was because all of their wine options were just too darn sweet for us. It would be great if they could work on one or two other options that are less sweet.

2022-05-12Music was great! You can see the tree house from the porch. Cool place they rent so you can stay at the vineyard! Had 6 different wines that varied from sweet to dry. Great oak chardonnay.

2021-10-31Nice little place. I enjoyed it. Casual atmosphere. It appears to be a small vineyard. Quaint. Plenty of outside seating. Limited inside seating. Private tastings are available. They have a separate seating area for the private tastings. There was a local artist outside selling some pieces. A small variety of gifts inside. You can get cheese and meat or other very casual snacks. Know that the meat and cheese come in plastic containers. It is not a charcuterie board presentation. You are allowed to bring your own food. They do have a few gas firepits to gather around to keep warm on the cooler days. There was live music.

2021-10-15We enjoyed a gorgeous early afternoon sitting on the large patio at Bear Claw Vineyards. We had flights of their white wines, and purchased a bottle of the Treehouse Chardonnay to take home. They are very dog friendly, and our dogs enjoyed the visit as well. The furnishings are comfortable with lots of room for lots of visitors.

2022-04-17This is my absolute favorite winery! I come as often as I can and have made my family and best friend join me. They dont exactly fight me on this ;) The wine is delicious, the scenery and ambiance is beautiful and casual. My kids even love coming as they usually find another kid or 2 to play with. The winery has excellent food truck options and live music! Ive loved every artist thats performed there so far. You wont regret coming here! And Savannah at the bar (and every other staff member) always takes excellent care of us, I adore her!
