Positive: Location Negative: Bathroom of two rooms had grime/mold all over the bathtub, toilets were dirty, toilet rocked and was not properly attached to the floor, hair in bathroom, breakfast was absolutely disgusting.the only thing decent was the packaged yogurt. Coffee was nasty.
I had reserved the room online using the bestwestern APP and paid for the reservation using my American express credit card since i had enrolled for an offer in my Amex card to get cash back of $20 (for charges above $100) for bookings made and paid at bestwestern portal. But at the check in guest reception the lady told that she does not have the payment since it was made at a separate portal. She has the card number used for the reservation but does not have the payment. She made me pay at the counter using the same card. This is weird.Since she has charged me at the local hotel instead of applying the payment i made at best western online portal i will not get the cashback of $20 through AMEX offers.I am dissatisfied since i could have saved $20 if not for the fault of the local reception desk agent.DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel if you have paid online at Bestwestern for your reservation.
Ease of location right off 95 and check-in very helpful in accommodating your needs (i.e. extra bedding, towels). Hotel was clean, comfortable and felt very safe. There is a Waffle House directly next door that you can walk across the parking lot. Breakfast at the hotel was what is expected at Best Western. They provided hot foods, fruits, cereals, juices, breakfast danishes, etc. Staff here are on top of the cleanliness and the check-in and check-out were quick.
Positive: The room size was good, and lights worked well and were bright (not dim like many motel rooms). Bed was very comfortable. Negative: Bathroom lavatory faucet was not working well. I could not get hot water. TV worked but not a lot of channels, and response was slow.
We stayed in the WB hotel sand we had a good experience. There is a note breakfast with toast, waffles, pancakes, sandwiches. You can take it downstairs. Everything is being cleaned permanently. There is a complete breakfast. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were ok. There was a fridge, microwave, and a couple of tables with a Tv. There were not a lot of channels. The wifi and parking free.
I was told over the phone a 1 bed was available, but “get here quick”. Great it’s what works best after an 11 hour drive and I’m only at Cheddars! At check in, night manager tells us, my wife and I, they only have a double queen, we reluctantly purchased knowing the hassle of finding a reasonably priced room. Not 10 minutes later, as I am unloading, I hear her lure more customers in over the phone with the single bed room availability. How am I supposed to feel as a customer that the management lies to future customers to upsell as they did to us?That is why they deserve a single star-
Positive: This was our best hotel experience during Covid-19. The cleanest we have seen for a reasonably priced hotel. Very kind and professional staff. Well done! Negative: The only 2 things that stood out to us as questionable were a bit of mustiness due to the hallways being warmer than the rooms, And the low water pressure in the shower. Adequate, but surprisingly weak. Still a great value!!
This hotel is “okay looking” on the outside but not so great on the inside. Supposed to be a new hotel but it’s worn out already. I complained to the front desk about no hot water and was told to let it run for 15 minutes because the pipes were really old and the water had to come a long way?? Are u kidding me. Lol. It’s rooms are falling apart. Cheap fiberglass showers. Dirty carpets. Couldn’t see out our window as the seals are broke on the window. Don’t stay here.
I wanted to provide an update to my prior post. I have been told that the refund is now in process, so I am happy to hear that. Lets hope that there is follow up to make sure that it actually happens. While waiting on hold for this to be resolved I scrolled through other reviews and there are numerous complaints about the front desk staff. I agree, but I also want to make clear that the person who actually checked me in when I arrived at the hotel was great. She was the only front desk staff that I can say that about. Management needs to resolve this issue for future customers. The room was actually nice
Overall it was okay, our stay was last minute. We found a great price online to book in less than a few minutes. The front desk clerk was rude, we were told of all the consequences of leaving the room in certain conditions or participating in certain activities (smoking/drinking) which of course we had no intentions of doing, we had our 2 young children with us and just wanted a clean, safe place to lay our heads for the night. Upon entering our room, we walked into a semi-clean environment. There was a pair of dirty socks on the floor, rotten fast food in the mini fridge and a tub that had a leaking faucet. I wouldnt choose this place first to stay ever again.
Positive: Loved almost everything about the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The TV worked well. I had a waffle for breakfast and my husband had an egg, sausage and cheese sandwich. plus fresh fruit, juice and yogurt. It was great. Negative: The water in the shower. Very weird. There was no COLD water in the shower. The water would have burned our skin. So, we could not shower.
There can be many definitions as to what a hotel is.Whether this is service, tariff, quality or whatever. But Ill say this property meets the definition of Hotel. And it offers all the advantages of a hotel with a reasonable price. The rooms are really good and the property supports this with good 🥞 breakfast, outside pool and a functional business center. The elevator at this property actually works as does the AC which is climate controlled so the guest doesnt have to adjust the settings on the unit itself. There really isnt anything missing at this 🛏️ hotel. It looks like they have a very good rewards program but I didnt check it.Interstate 95 ramp is almost on their doorstep I needed to get on the 🛣️.
We have stayed at this Best Western several times. We have always been pretty happy with it. I dont know if management has changed or if it has just gone down hill, but we wont be staying here again. When we checked into 2 rooms, neither one had cold water. The water was eight very warm to scalding. We were told it was fixed Friday. It was not. When my husband went to the front desk to ask about it, he was told by the rude lady at the desk that she could give us a new room or we could check out. This was not the first time we have had a smart attitude from the person, but it will be the last. The bed are comfortable at this location, so if you want to take a chance that you wont have any issues during your stay you will sleep well.
It was a clean nice room. The beds were on the hard side but fixed very nice. The shower in the bath didnt work properly. I would give it a 3.5 but it doesnt give that option. The free Breakfast was very nice. The refrigerator in the room started freezing up. At checkout the clerk never asked if there were any problems with the room, if i was pleased with my stay, any questions at all. Just said wait a moment for your receipt. Hello, what happened to hospitality?🤔? Isnt the hotel business still considered hospitality? The housekeeping staff were so exceptionally professional, friendly, and considerate! I consider them one of the best parts of the stay.
I have stayed at a lot of these hotels traveling and the front desk attendant at this particular location was extremely rude! I was aware I had booked through a third party but was just looking to add a name to my room and she aggressively told me that wasn’t her problem and to call them. I understand that’s the protocol but very unnecessary to be so rude to someone giving your hotel business. Everyone has a bad day and maybe that was the case but I’ve for sure seen nicer staff members before!
Positive: Location and price and it is fairly new. The bed was nice. Negative: Small and underfilled pillows, the tub dripped bad and for so long it had a black stain. The breakfast area needs attention, the microwave wasnt working properly, the coffee was terrible coffee the pancake machine was broke and selection was poor.
The hallways and elevator did not have any A/C, was very hot during out stay... A/C worked good in room. Shower had basically no pressure and the water had a bit of a smell to it. Older lady at front desk was a bit rude at times. Awoken at 3am by someone cursing in the hallway and threatening someone else... seems that whatever was going on was resolved. Breakfast was really good.
I didn’t want to write this but I feel like I have too. I came in around 8pm Sunday and asked to check in. The lady was rude as can be. I should have just left with that experience. We check in and things are fine room seems nice besides hair in tub. I wake up in the middle of the night itchy. I don’t see anything in the bed but I was grossed out and couldn’t sleep. Next morning I had bite marks all over. I’m still itchy. I honestly don’t know if it was just dirty sheets or if there was something else in the room biting me. The only reason I’m giving a two star is because the lady the next morning was super nice and helpful and all the housekeeping staff were nice as well.
First I will state that I am a GOLD BW rewards member. I like to stick with one or two brands for the rewards and hopefully see some consistency with the properties. This one was very disappointing. It could have been so much better, like the one on St. Simons Island we spent the previous night at. First off the RUDE manager was hard to deal with upon check in. When I was asking about using a different credit card to pay (vs. the one I used to reserve), all of a sudden I am treated like an alien/criminal? He insisted on scanning my ID?? which has NEVER been done before at ANY hotel Ive stayed at. Plus, I always request the upper floor rooms, given I am a gold member, you would think that would be granted? Nope. Never. We were given our King room on the 2nd floor. Oh & He lied to me about the County rule which still prohibits hot meals served. (The other BW hotel -- same county -- had hot food available). Upon entering the room, it is hot & stuffy, almost 80 degrees. I try to adjust the temp, no luck. Plus, Curtains are stained, window had some kind of leak. Wait a few minutes, no cold air...so we call to report, he comes up with the room key for the next door room. Which was nice and cool. But I found short dark hairs throughout the bath area. Yuck. Road noise was audible from this side of the hotel. Oh, and then a family of elephants checked into the room above. Thank the LORD I sleep with earplugs. This is why I always request the upper floors, but in this case, he chose to ignore that. The morning coffee was good (after hubby had to wait in line for it)... as were the to go Jimmy Dean Sandwiches. But, we will not be returning to this property in the future. Unless its free hahaha. There are several other nice options nearby (LaQuinta, Hilton) that I would try first. Note that both hotels were the same price-- around $100. The other one was SOOO much better.
The stay at best western plus was awesome. The beds were nice, comfortable, and they were net. The bathroom was really cleaned. The service was awesome and the house keepers were really nice and gave me awesome service for 5 days. I stayed for 5 days. And I met the housekeepers and he said his name was Bob Patel and his wife.
If I could give a half of stars I would!!! They over charged me! The old lady at the front desk was super miserable! The hit water didnt work! The gym was closed breakfast was horrible tasted like the breakfast sandwhiches was out all night only one computer in the business center worked! No place to park in the parking lot! Just a horrible stay
You can book this hotel without doubting. The rooms are spacious and extremely cleaned. The bathroom was great. Everything looked spotless in the shower !The free breakfast is more than you can ask for !you will find at least 10 options !! Even fresh made waffles and pancakes!!!The staff is courteous and very attentive!
The rooms in this hotel are big with tall ceilings. At least mine on the ground floor was. Very nice, very clean, extremely comfortable bed. At the price point we paid (less than $70) I dont think it can be beaten. Just a quick drive from downtown Brunswick and more on the St. Symonds or Jekyll. Friendly staff too.
Ten stars! Great price, awesome staff! The night desk attendant was soo sweet and helpful. Morning staff was all fantastic as well. The room was clean and updated and had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and more than enough for all 6 of us! Thank you for everything
When it comes to hotels in very picky and this one is rated at an 8.4 so I said lets give it a shot. Im glad we did, very nice and very clean. I would have gave it 5 stars but waiting to see how breakfast goes.......yes they actually have breakfast. Not sure why its not rated higher.
This was the worst experience Ive had in a hotel setting, ever! The manager had NO customer service etiquette whatsoever. She was disrespectful and rude, and even chastised the employees in front of us! At one moment while we were waiting for other members of our party to show up, she appeared out of nowhere and threatened to call the police and NOT refund our money, because we were congregating. She claimed we were loud and obnoxious, which was 100% untruthful! She was blantonly disrespectful to us and in the same setting showed hospitality to other guests. It was definitely a race issue and we checked out; and immediately checked into the Hampton Inn & Suites Hilton next door. It was totally different experience!!! As much as we travel to Brunswick, we will NEVER EVER waste our money nor time at this hotel! The continental breakfast server and the night auditor (Melissa & Tammy) were the only staff that showed respect and hospitality! I need everyone to know this, for it was quite a negative experience!
Spacious room with king sized bed AND a sofa! And the bathroom was large too. And the Continental breakfast was close to being back to normal. Front desk people were very friendly. There’s a restaurant named Murphy’s within walking distance which has outdoor dining and good food.
For a budget hotel this is over the top. The room where we stayed at was super clean and you can tell and smell that it was sanitized. The bed and pillows are also supercomfy. The breakfast bar also has good selections of grab and go food items. But the one the cons that we had was the microwave in our room. It almost fell when my husband open it to heat up the food. It could have been secured better. But overall a great stay. Keep it up staff of Best Western Plus!
Positive: Location Negative: Yes! The Friday afternoon check in clerk name (hotel employee) has a very nasty attitude and need customer relationship training. Both my wife and I are adults and don¿t appreciate being talked to without respect. She needs to be replaced.
Must say this is the Best Best Western I have ever been in...and I am not fond of Best Western. This place though is top notch. Clean as a whistle. Staff very friendly.Dillon was Great.I didnt feel any kind of yuch .here. None! You can feel the friendly, calm atmosphere. oh, and breakfast.Keep up the Great job.
The quality of mattress was poor compared to other hotels in this price-range. Our room, on the first floor, was very noisy. We heard hallway and lobby noise as well as upstairs noise.Other than those two things, the hotel is very nice and meets my expectations for the value. The breakfast selection was good but what set it apart was the service during breakfast. The staff was very nice and helpful. Cleanliness was maintained and it made the end of our one-night stay very pleasant.
Stayed only one night the room was awesome smelled fresh, very clean lots of towels. The bed was great fell asleep very fast quiet area. Young lady at check in was a professional very polite, I had trouble with the key she walked with me and was helping me get in . No other issues to mention the breakfast was hot eggs and Turkey sausage lots of other things to eat and drink . The staff kept everything at breakfast looking great and fresh the 2 ladies were awesome making sure everyone was enjoying breakfast. Will definitely make this a stop when on route 95.
Stayed overnight for business.Check-in was quick, Front desk very friendly.Room was extremely clean, bed very comfortable.I travel a lot for work, and it was nice to not have a lot of outside noise. Very quiet.I highly recommend this hotel, and maximum stars! Will definitely be coming back.
Front desk staff was very efficient and professional. Beds were old and really squeaked . The housekeeping staff needs some training in the finer points of cleaning floors. Overall the property was nice and for a quick night on the road we would stay there again. However, we hope that the cleanliness is addressed. The breakfast was pretty good and there were many options available. The breakfast attendant wasnt very cordial when asked a question.
Making my reservation was crossed up. Somehow I was scheduled a day earlier than I booked but the hostess took care of the mistake. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the hostess took care of everyones needs. She was very courteous and greeted everyone with a smile and a cheerful good morning. Plan to stay here again when I come through here every month.
Staff were all friendly, helpful and seemed to care about their job. Cleaners went out of their way to help how they could. Breakfast was decent, maybe not the best for smaller children. However a the waitress at breakfast was warm and welcoming. Rooms were clean, bed was fine although box spring was broken, it was do able. Laundry was the best that Ive seen at area hotels, large capacity. Overall, very good quality for the price.
My wife and I reserved our room in Brunswick with a debit card. At the time of check-in, I told the person checking us in, that we wanted to use another card for payment and not the debit card on file and gave him the card to use. I would imagine this is quite common. They billed both cards - I was double billed. Both charges were completely processed (not pending). I called the hotel and asked for their help and explained the situation. The “manager” I spoke to was EXTREMELY RUDE to me without asking any information (name, room number, confirmation number, etc) She was obviously not wanting to hear any concerns I had and must have just been having a bad day anyway. She was aggressive and disputed everything I said and told me that I need to call my bank for resolution. By the way - I was being super polite during the call. How can they be in the hospitality industry with this kind of treatment to customers? She didn’t t even bother to ask questions - but instead- just had the attitude of we are right, and you are wrong. My family will never stay at that location again and will discourage anyone we know from staying there. After calling the 800 number for help (since the location just wanted to argue) they sent us a pdf of where the hotel did a reversal on one of the cards. Of course they reversed the charge on the credit card and not our debit card. (Again, I told them I didn’t want my debit card billed). They said it may take 2 weeks for the credit to show up on our credit card.If the GM reads this - we did stay several nights mire at the BW in St Simons Island following the terrible experience with the Brunswick location and the St Simons location was outstanding. Friendly staff and clean comfy rooms at St Simons.
The rooms were very nice, the front desk both at check in and out were very nice. Only negative was the way the lady treated us at breakfast because we were right at the end of serving time. Was unpleasant and made us feel uncomfortable. Overall though very good accomodations.
This hotel is wonderful quality at a reasonable price. Clean inside and out. Front staff is pleasant and helpful. Rooms are clean, updated, and spacious.Additionally, Best Western supports our essential workers and front line defenders. That has made us decide to change our normal chains to BW!
The hotel was clean the people friendly and efficient I did not care for the parking on just the side of the hotel neither went in the front or you had to go in the back no middle door Is a lot of smokers hang out at the back door the elevators in the middle so its not convenient if youre on the 2nd 3rd floor love the laundry area that was nice and its reasonable price and breakfast was hot with the eggs and cheese sausage waffles
The front desk clerk Maryann was extremely rude! Everyone else was amazing but her demeanor, disposition and condescending language is why I will never visit the establishment again. She was not only rude to my party. But she barked at other guests. She really needs to find other employment.
This Best Western Plus is nice and employs kind staff. In fact, Patricia, who runs the breakfast service, is one of the nicest hotel employees Ive ever met. She made continental breakfast seem like a diner experience with her attentiveness to each and every person. My room was clean and properly stocked. My A/C was not working upon arrival, but it was promptly fixed with no further issue. Overall a good experience, I would return.
My parents and I stayed here for 1 night on our way back home from our vacation. It was a very clean hotel that was able to accommodate us last minute. We ended up with a handicap room, which offers a large stand up shower space and plenty of useful items within the bathroom itself for assistance in standing or sitting. The room was also clean and we had no issues with it at all.
Lovely room with very comfortable king size bed. The pullout couch was a lifesaver as we needed a place for my three year old to sleep where he wouldnt fall off a high bed. Breakfast was nice for free as it had almost anything you could want. I dont recommend the strawberry flavored waffles, but everything else was fine. We had a great stay and I would stay here again.
This is not a nice hotel. It stinks like a nasty odor. The bedding is old and worn. The beds were itchy which creeped me out. The cleaning staff didn’t speak good English at all. They didn’t even have Disney channel or any kids channels for my kids to watch. For $120 a night this was not a good deal this place is super out dated for the price you pay. Pool is very small compared to other hotels. Breakfast was good that’s probably the only good thing about this place. Will not stay here again.
Positive: Location Negative: Been there 2x. Neither time did the desk clerk treat me like a guest. They dont acknowledge you when you walk in. No eye contact, conversation, etc. I called down for the wifi info and was told she gave it to me at check in but i didnt listen. RUDE!!!
Fairly new, low budget place. Very plain building. It felt safe and liked well kept. Staff was friendly. The room looked nice, but the bed, a rigid traditional innerspring matters, was very uncomfortable. Also, the controls in the tub with shower looked like it had not been cleaned, ever. The tub dream was broken. There was a loud noise coming from the bathroom ventilation all night. Breakfast in the morning was sparse, but did include some eggs and sausage. I would stay here again, but only if the Hampton Inn next door is full.
The purpose of our stay was due to visiting my nephew who relocated to this area. The hotel was very convenient to I-95 and easy to locate from the exit. We traveled as a family and occupied three rooms. I cant say enough about every aspect of our stay at the Best Western Plus Brunswick Inn and Suites. The highest priority for me at any hotel would be cleanliness, and this hotel completely met my expectations; no strange room odors, a bathroom that had been cleaned properly, and a comfortable bed that we didnt mind laying down in. Every area of the hotel inside and out was perfectly clean and pleasant. The hotel staff we interacted with (front desk, breakfast server, housekeepers) were extremely helpful and courteous. Easy check-in and check-out. Breakfast was the quality I expect from a Best Western. This will absolutely be our go-to hotel for stays in this area in the future. My recommendation is to book this hotel without hesitation because you will have no worries.
Our room was quiet, clean but there was no hot water for showering at night when we arrived and again in the morning. Water was barely warm almost cold, so we had to shower quickly in cold water. I will say it woke us right up so we could get back on the road. Hotel is located in a good spot, reasonably priced for the area and surrounding hotels. Front desk check in at 9-30pm was not very friendly. She made us feel like we were inconviencing her to check us in. This was a good spot to stop to rest but wouldnt stay more than just one night
The breakfast in the morning was great and the staff was really nice. I did have some pills taken, but I couldnt prove it. They have a safe in each room that I should have used. I stayed for 5 weeks, and this was the only incident. The beds could have been better, which is why I give it a 4 star.
Our family had a mandatory evacuation from hurricane Dorian. We had 2 hotel rooms, my husband, our daughter and our 2 yellow labs. After checking in the lady at the desk told us no dogs. My husband said its almost 10 pm and we need a place to stay. The lady just let us finish checking in. We then walked to our rooms unpacked and got ready for bed. At 10:00 the front desk called and said we had to leave. Our dogs never barked and were perfect! We talked to the manager who was not very pleasant and he said he would call the police if we didnt leave. We had to repack at 10pm and by the grace of God found a room in another hotel who welcomed our 2 dogs. I cant believe under mandatory evacuation the night before the hurricane was to hit they made us and our dogs leave! We are so upset! How can such a large company treat their customers with no compassion. I will not support such an organization. My husband has owned several large companies over the years and he always treated his customers with compassion and respect. We did not receive either from Best Western Plus!
This is the nicest Best Western Ive stayed in. It is not a destination hotel but one for travelers. Conveniently, off I 95, easy to find l, with a good selection of nearby restaurants. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bath towels were top quality. The staff and Owner/manager were very pleasant and made everyone feel welcome. This will be our choice of overnight accommodations when staying in Brunswick, GA.
Let see where to start foremost the front desk clerk was rude as ever! Secind she over charged me and they refuse to give me my money back!!! Secind therr was no hot eater 3rd i called and who ever answered wanted to be rude and start yelling at me i can promisr im taking this matter to a higher level I should not what so ever be treated that way she wouldnt let me talk and was over talking me and screaming at me
Stayed here on a trip from NC to FL. It was dirty, overpriced, outdated, and we experienced poor customer service. First thing, we saw an ant crawling around on the coffee pot in the room. The bathtub was old and dingy and THE BEDS SMELLED STRANGE— they smelled SOUR, SPOILED, and URINE TINGED. The sheets were somewhat damp which made us slightly itchy. Seems as if someone put the sheets on the bed and made it up without them being fully dry and left them to spoil? I’m not sure, but the room was gross. The only half way decent aspect was that the toilet was clean. I was shocked when I began reading google reviews while laying there disgusted and I saw others had similar issues with the smell. I was staying there with my 2 small children, we couldn’t get a refund at that point ($137 room after tax), it was 1:30 in the morning, and we were exhausted. No one got under the covers and we slept about 3-4hrs (just enough to recharge) and we left as soon as we could! I will never stay here again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here ever.
The room was clean and updated. The staff was friendly. Upon check-in, the clerk was not wearing a mask. At checkout, the desk clearly was not wearing a mask. We were about 3-4 feet from each other. I asked her why she wasn’t since the 7 foot banner in the lobby indicated that they did. She said, “They can’t MAKE me wear a mask. They can heavily suggest it.” Meanwhile, in her local hospital, the ICU is at capacity with all patients on ventilators. I won’t stay there again or any place that is not interested in protecting their guests.
Nice, courteous staff is all this old property has going for it. Overpriced. If you want a comfortable bed for about the same $, stay next door at the Hampton Inn. We shouldve but they were sold out and we ended up here. Theres no comparison. Having now stayed at both, well never stay here again. If youre cool with a noisy property, unstable, noisy, bouncy uncomfortable beds in a musty room (at least until you run the AC) and a breakfast thats advertised as a full hot breakfast but serves no bacon or sausage, stay here. For one night, it will do, but if you stayed anywhere better (like the Hampton), you will see the difference and wont like it, especially when this place costs as much! Live and learn. For us, never again.
It was very clean, no odor. Receptionist was very nice. I was a bit disappointed that they did not have any jet/spa bathtubs for these rooms to be suites!! Its not a suite of it doesnt have jet/spa bathtubs. A Loveseat, sink, refrigerator and divider DOES NOT make a room a suite!!! I did not eat the breakfast. They do have handicap access, elevators, etc. Bed was somewhat comfortable. Very clean room
I have to say this hotel is in my top 3 must stay places. The staff is great the night desk lady is a little cold but helpful. The rooms are clean beds comfortable . Bathrooms are clean and the linens are great. Morning breakfast is fresh and hot food and they have pancakes. The lady preparing break was extremely friendly oh and morning desk lady also very nice. Also the price is great for what you get must stay..
The staff were pleasant. The room we were in, 301, smelled super funky, like sour food. We asked to be moved, after coming and checking the room, the hostess told me she didnt smell anything, why u lying, but that we could move. Thank you, moved us to room 331, I kid you not still funky smell but not as strong. I think its something they clean with because when we checked out all the doors were open and you could smell it everywhere. After reading the reviews, I see more comments about the general stinkiness of the hotel. Would not stay here again.
Just in town for Saturday evening wedding so very short stay. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything worked well. Only complaint was the room had an unusual musty oder which seemed to come from a/c each it cranked up but was tolerable for one night. Also lack of proper grab bars in shower/tub and slippery tub surface. Could combine for a nasty fall.
This property is exceptional in every way but one. Non guest locals are using the pool illegaly. I know the property owners and their staff work very hard to give their guests a memorabe stay. They must find a way to secure the pool from the parking lot especially during these trying covid 19 times.
If I could give zero stars I would. When I arrived in my room after checking in the couch looked so gross I would never have sat on it. Additionally, it was clear that the room was not cleaned properly. There was small debris on the floor, which made it clear the room was not properly vacuumed. Also there was a piece of a clothing tag on the coffee table and dust/dirt on the coffee table and all other hard surfaces. The clothing tag wasnt a big deal from a cleanliness standpoint in and of itself but if it was still sitting on the table after the room being cleaned, its clear the room wasnt fully cleaned. Also noticed a couple of marks on the comforter, didnt look like permanent stains, more like fresh uncleaned marks. I went downstairs and said I really hate to do this but I dont think my room was fully cleaned, are there any other available rooms I could switch to. Instead of an apology for my room not being cleaned I was questioned on what exactly wasnt clean (even though I had already explained it to the first woman at the desk) and then was told that it was on the list as cleaned. They did give me another room but were very rude about it. I apologized 3 times because I felt bad requesting a change, even though I shouldnt have felt bad, and was not given one apology for the inconvenience by the staff. I felt extremely uncomfortable by the attitude I was given.
Checked in after a long drive. Room was clean but had a stale odor. The carpet was dingy and rough. Didnt get a good night sleep because I keep hearing doors slamming and running. I tried to call the front desk but the phone next to the bed didnt work. So, the next morning I called the front desk from my cellphone to complain about the noise that was continuing and ask for a late check out. The clerk had said no one else had complained as if I were making it up instead of apologizing for the inconvenience or even going to check it out.(I recorded the noises)I only was given til noon to check out but when I walked pass the desk for breakfast, I overheard the clerk allowing another guest a late check out at 1pm. Not to mention housekeeping woke me up at 9:45 & 11am knocking on the door when I was giving until noon. My stay was not worth the 108.00 I paid.
We booked this hotel last minute while driving across states. While checking in the front desk receptionist, Mary-Ann, made a comment on this last minute booking that we felt sounded dismissive. She rushed us through the process, explaining hotel hours while I had to sign the check-in documents AND operate the credit card device, all at the same time.We had booked this hotel because of the outdoor pool, which is small, but would have been nice to use after a very stressful day. However we were not able to use it since we arrived after dark. We were told that the pool cannot be used after dark because there is no pool lighting. Had we known this we would have booked elsewhere. We had planned to relax in our room until check-out which we were told was at 11AM. However at 10:30 staff was knocking at our door asking if we were still planning to leave. Again, we felt very rushed. So we packed up and left instead of enjoying the last half hour of our stay. When checking out, the same front desk person was talking on the phone. She did not pause the phone conversation, took our keys without saying anything and just mentioned, while still on the phone with someone else, that the receipt would be sent to my email address.Overall, we felt entirely rushed by staff and were not able to use the amenities. Had we known this we would have booked elsewhere. The room and breakfast area were clean and it was quiet.
The motel is relatively new, but it was built cheaply and is already starting to show wear and tear. The rooms with king sized beds have the bed about 1-2 feet away from the HVAC system discharge (see attached pictures). This means either cold or warm air is blowing directly on you the entire night. The carpeting between the bed and a/c is constantly wet becuase the cold air is causing condensation on it. The staff seemed annoyed I brought it their attention. Dont stay in Glynn County, GA, but if you do dont stay here.
This 1st room has a horrible smell when I entered. There was mold in the AC, and the shower and toilet was dirty. The desk clerk came to the room and refused to stay in there because of the smell. She moved me to another room. I folded the covers back and found two spots of blood on the comforter. I have never stayed at a hotel this bad, I would not recommend this hotel!!Too bad I cant give negative stars.
Nice place. Very clean, with a super courteous and helpful staff. Good amenities! The hot breakfast was ok, but the new pancake machine was acting up and theres only so much you can do with powdered eggs! I would go back, due in part to being in close walking distance to Toucans Ale House, which was good, and the Harley dealership.
Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life I stayed there on July 25 I left the next one I’ll look at my card I got charged extra $217 because you’re Staff decided to extend someone else’s room with my card for $217 I am now stranded in Florida because that was my last bit Of money if you can expedite my $217 back as quick as possible I would be grateful until then I will be strand and sleeping in my car I wish I never went through this experience but for now on I hope your staff will ask people for their cards instead of just charging people Carley and ray both need the attitude adjustment they were very unprofessional and super rude
Mary-Ann was the person who serviced us. We were lucky to book the last room available. She gave us extra sheets for the pull out bed, explained all the things to do by the piers. We have one more night to stay and we love it so far. Prices were super fair too for it being Memorial Day weekend.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The attitude of the entire staff set the mood for this hotel and the guests coming the door for the night. I really enjoyed having a hot breakfast before getting back on the road.Check surrounding area food choices for the evening meal prior to check-in as variety of choices are very limited very close to the hotel. But then again I might just be a picky eater. Bottom line, this is a good stop!!
Was a decent place to stay other then the fact that housekeeping came in the room two times before we had checked out. Check out was at 11 o’clock, at 9:30 housekeeping knocked once with his card and proceeded to try and enter my room. If it was not for the door stop he would have come all the way in my room. I then went to the front desk and extended my stay for another night and also explained what had happened in hope the problem would be addressed and fixed. At 10:30 as I was in the middle of changing to go out for the day, housekeeping entered my room again! This time the door stop was not on and he tried to proceed into my room as I’m yelling trying to let him know someone is in here! There was no reason for housekeeping to come into my room before 11 and when the “do not disturb” sign was placed on the outside of the door. I called the front desk again and explained what happened again. Instead of trying to accommodate me and reassure me it would not happen again he had nothing to say and did not even apologize. I am very disappointed in how the situation was handled. Will not be staying here again.
The price was not bad up until we noticed there was a double charge on our bank account come to find out they dont just take a small holding deposit like some hotels do when they want to make sure that the room is okay after checkout, they double charge you the entire price and then it takes 4 business days to even get your money back. Ive stayed in many hotels and I can understand maybe a 30 or 40 holding fee but not $100 holding fee that you wont even get back until four days later this is ridiculous
Pros: Bed was comfortable.Cons: Front desk would not honor online price.Toilet was unflushed when we entered the room.Spots on floor near toilet.Request for top floor was not honored. Was told online booking meant we got that exact room, which could not be changed even if there was a problem with the room.Tub did not drain. Showered in water up to our ankles.
Southern hospitality at its finest beginning with our arrival and check in, breakfast the next morning and right through to our check out. Our breakfast hostess was a gift of sunshine and helpfulness for road weary travellers. Our rooms were clean and well supplied with toiletries. All in all, a very positive experience.
So how do you begin, we scheduled our stay at this hotel a month in advance. When we arrived we noticed a sign the elevator was not working. We checked in and noticed they gave us a room on the third floor, I asked since I have trouble on stairs if we could get a room on a lower floor cause the elevator does not work. They told me they were sold out abs I had not choice. They were rude and could not accommodate me even though we scheduled a month before.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus. It was centrally located and made travel to the islands very easy. The staff was so awesome. I felt very special because of all the great service they rendered to us. Everything was so wonderful. Thank you very much h for your kind hospitality. We will be back.
Nice hotel. Comfortable bed & clean attractive room. We didnt use the outdoor pool or exercise facility but both looked nice. Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Similar to average hotels. Facility no different than that offered by Red Roof Inn or Days Inn for almost twice the cost of those hotels. Conveniently located to shopping, dining & Jekyll Island & St. Simons Island for day events.
I am a platinum member of the BW Rewards program and this was the shoddiest and worst managed hotel in the chain I have ever experienced. Completely mismanaged. Trash overflowing as you enter the lobby; a full view of the dirty laundry piling up in the laundry room (right next to check in); undrinkable water, with no bottled water offered (we skipped showers lest we smell like sulfur all day). At 9:30 am, when I wanted to discuss my stay, there was not yet a manager on duty. The whole building seemed to be in need of attention it was not getting. I would avoid this and go to the Hampton Inn next door.
Very conveniently located just off I-95, this is a fairly new hotel with excellent information about restaurants and facilities between I-95 and St. Simons Island. However, staff seemed to disappear and rarely was anyone at the desk; we always had to call out (no bell to ring!) to get someone from the back room out to the desk. Same with breakfast in the morning. Even phone calls to desk from room went unanswered. When they were around, the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Beds very comfortable. Room very quiet.
Hotel was clean, staff friendly but misleading about rooms. We called directly to ask for a suite. We were told that the suite at this site had a partition that separated the bed from the pull out sofa area. We were very disappointed to find that the partition consisted of an 18 inch decorative partition on either side of the room. If we had known that this was considered a partition, we would have chosen another hotel or room style. When we spoke to management about this, he explained the technical definitions of what is considered a partition. I do not consider this anything more than a decoration as it provides no separation between the sitting and sleeping area. Also, when we walked in to the room, it smelled strongly of a cleaner or air freshener with an underlying smell of cigarette smoke. We called down to ask about our non-smoking room and were told that the companys new eco-friendly cleaner smelled just like cigarette smoke. Sounds like BS to me but since all rooms in the hotel and the area were booked up, we had no choice but to stay.*Update-We specifically asked NOT to be enrolled in the email newsletter when confirming our room through email. We’ve been receiving non-stop promotional emails despite the assurance of the reservation attendant that we would not be enrolled in such a program. Ugh.This is very disheartening because we have always had great experiences with the Best Western Plus brand.
We arrived at 2:45 (check in at 3) and was told our room would be ready in 30 minutes. We came back at 3:45 and was told it would be 15 more minutes. We did not get into our room until 5:00. There were 4 other couples experiencing the same issue. We then get into our room and I had ants in my bathroom, and my shower did not drain properly (my entire shower I was standing in about an inch of water). The bath tub was extremely slick and unsafe considering I slipped a few times. The shower had to run for 7 minutes before the water was even luke warm.I called down to the front desk 3 times until someone finally picked up. I asked for 2 towels to be sent to my room and the receptionist told me I had to walk down to the lobby to get the towels. The hotel smelled like body odor. When we went to check out at 4:30 am, there was no one at the front desk. We were talking to ourselves and said “hello” three times in hopes that the receptionist was in the office and would hear us. Eventually the woman came out from the office and did not even apologize for making us wait. I’m fact, all she said to us was “here you go” when she handed us our receipt. My friends bathroom floor was sticky and the bottom of her feet were black after walking into the bathroom. Her shower water also did not get hot.I had crumbs all over the desk and menu. I did not receive shampoo and the lotion was 3/4 empty.I would NOT recommend this hotel.
This was by far the worst experien ever. We were out swimming with our daughter when a bunch of drunk guys came to the pool. We tried to just ignore and stay to our self. But one kept trying to rub mptying excuse me and he would say Im not in your personal space and I would say yes you are. Then the proceeded to smoke pot and keep offering us beer.my daughter is under age. So I went to the front desk and told the girl she acted as if she were going to do something but she did not. Several families tried to go out and enjoy but couldnt. I will never stay here again at a place that acts like they have such a great hotel but let those guys smoke pot drink and touch other guests.
Really nice hotel. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Nice breakfast setup. Great place to stay--would highly recommend it. The young man that checked us in, Austin, was very pleasant and helpful. Nice kid and acted very professionally. Will definitely stay here again😁
Front Desk both evening and daytime along with management are incompetent..I requested to change my credit card two days before reservation. The daytime said they did. When I check in never change to new credit .They finally change my credit card but then they charge me twice new card .It should been once..I show my hotel about this issue. They refused to corrected and told me call my credit company..It took over 4 months to return unauthorized chargeback to card..I spoke with Best Western Office of President..That hotel should return charge on day I check out. BEWARE..DO NOT TRUST BEST WESTERN at Brunswick GaTerrible customer service maybe hotel change their minus worst western
On our travel from Potomac, MD to Tampa, FL, we stayed one night at this hotel. Except a minor glitch, we like the facility, staff was courteous and helpful, the breakfast was better than what you get in other hotels that offer free-breakfast. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Some nice employees at the cafeteria and custodial services. Decent rooms/furniture and effective Gym.HOWEVER, 1 front desk lady was obtuse and narrow minded in her obvious lack of customer service. Especially with a military veteran. Then there was the partially unfinished cleaning of the bathroom with 2 small hair remnants, a used wash cloth left hung up and a dank/unfresh smelling bedroom. This was capped off with a kind yet inept, night time front desk attendant which did not record notes of the complaint, nor did he remedy the problem. This experience would have qualified for0 stars had it not been for one of the owners which personally handled my phone call professionally and then in person apologetically confirmed that he would make amends with his teams shortcomings. He then compensated us a percentage of the overall charge. If back in the area, I might give only one more opportunity exclusively because of what appeared as a serious resolve from the owner. However, the already existing and also nearly completed close by (walking distance), competition might make it a cost decision.
This hotel by far has the rudest manger named Allen ever!!! When we went to shower there was hair all over the bathtub and wall. When we called about it, he said there was no one to clean it until morning, we couldnt move to another room, and our only option was to check out. This room is $169/night, the least you could do was bring your behind up here to clean it. Not to mention your rude sarcasm dont give a damn attitude about your guest was really great!! You wont get a dime of my money ever Mr. Allen. You mad because the desk clerk called you in or nobody wants to work for your rude self. You dont want to accommodate guest when theyve clearly booked through a website at a lower price but because your system doesnt pull it up, you wanna charge full price. You got the wrong guest Mr. Allen, if thats really your name in your tight suit.
Great hotel for the price. Clean and comfortable, conveniently located off of I-95 and easy to get around Brunswick or to Saint Simons Island from there. Enjoyed the pool. The woman at breakfast was especially great and friendly. This would be a great option for anyone visiting Brunswick, passing through on 95, or even visiting Saint Simons Island but looking to save some money on lodging. Would stay here again!
They priced gauged they charged double the price for a two person room $305. 00 for a room for two people which should have been $ 120.00 for two people they claim this hotel is a suite there is nothing to this place as a suite it only has two queen beds that youll need a ladder to get into the beds due to the beds being so high off of the floor it only has a little fridge and microwave oven thats right near the bathroom the only reason they call it a suiteIts not a suite its no where near a suite it is somewhat clean though the breakfast is ok nothing spectacle but it is near a winnDixie dollar tree family dollar waffle house a barbeque place. and some other places
TERRIBLE ENOUGH FOR ME TO TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE A REVIEW:When staying at a hotel like Best Western you dont expect too much:A clean bed & room to sleep in and hot water. If there is an issue, you expect responsive staff. Nope, not at this place. Certainly not worth $110. I wouldnt stay at this place if it were free...My wife stayed there on a return trip home from Florida, with our kids. Her experience staying there was pretty terrible and after she failed to get any assistance, I stepped in and my experience trying to get her some help was terrible was as well. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.The shower had no hot water.. the bathroom light was flickering as if it were in a horror film... there was hair on the hand towel.. the room smelled like mold from the AC unit and the room was covered in dust. When she called the front desk for assistance they typed her complaints into the computer, blew her off. In an effort to deflect her complaint, the front desk said that since we booked through Expedia that she would have to discuss the issue with them. When I stepped in and asked to speak with a manager, there was no manager on staff. I left my name and number, no call back. When I called in the morning, I was hung up on.. and called back and requested to speak to a manager, still no manager and no return call.Had to call Expedia to step in and help out with the issue. The hotel says that since we booked through Expedia we have to work with them. When I call Expedia they say that that since Best Western has our payment information, that I need to negotiate with Best Western. So I am being lied to by one of the two. Terrible experience all around.
We booked a room for the night to getaway with the family when we got here the room wasnt ready they said it would be an hour so we went bowling for 2 hours and came back to a room not ready so we went to the pool (that is extremely smaller than the pictures look) for an hour and still our room was not ready they move our room and that one smelled like cigarettes so we moved again to a room that the remote wont work or the phone go to dinner come back and now they dont have but 1 pillow for my 2 children and no blankets for them to sleep with just a thin sheet. This has been so frustrating for our family that just wanted a nice weekend out and has just about made me go check out at 10pm and go home
Reserved a room for the handicap, but got a very small room which did not meet our needs, had to use the bathroom to store wheel chair & lift which made using the rest room rather difficult. It was way over priced for what we received. Breakfast was fine, lady who took care of it was fantastic.
Nice size room. Stayed in the king room with pullout-couch, didnt need, but a nice option to kick up and relax with the free wifi or watch tv on the flatscreen. Pillows were small but no problem to get an extra. The room also has coffee, microwave & the important mini fridge. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. Typical BW breakfast and area was kept tidy. Theres also an outdoor pool for nicer weather.
My family is staying here just for the night on our way to Florida. So far the toilet has clogged three times. When we went to the front desk to ask for help, she handed us a plunger. Then we also asked for extra pillows. She asked for our room number and said there are only two adults staying in that room and there should be four pillows already in there. I shouldnt have to explain myself if I want an extra pillow. But to top it off, I just went to plug in my phone and was electrocuted because someone left a piece of metal in the our lamp plug next to the bed. The pool is very small. Would not recommend.
Didnt even have the opportunity to stay at this hotel. DO NOT BOOK WITH 3RD PARTY SITES!!!! LESSON LEARNED. Booking.com called and emailed while I was driving 16 hours and said there was a problem with my card. They cancelled my reservation within 15 minutes of not answering back. Meanwhile the site still said I had the reservation but the extremely rude hotel representative said they gave the room away. I don’t know why anyone would cancel a reservation if the guest doesn’t answer within 15 minutes. Such a shame because I really do like Best Westerns ended up getting a room at the Hampton inn (which is nicer).
Whenever I am in Brunswick I stay here. Although I am an IHG Rewards member and typically stay at there hotels, the staff at this Best Western are sooo kind that I prefer to stay here. The rooms are nice, comfy and clean but are not brand new. There is hot breakfast that is always a plus. The lady who works breakfast is named Red, and she is THE sweetest person. Make sure to leave her a tip. The property is located right off the highway and on a road that has plenty restaurants and a few places to shop.
We travel extensively throughout the US, Canada and Western Europe. We most always experience some exceptional staff, it is rare to have every staff member in an establishment to exceed expectations. That is definitely the case with the Best Western Plus in Brunswick, Georgia. We were there to pay our last respects to a brother who had passed away quite unexpectedly. The staff at this hotel deflected much of our pain and made the overall trip one of positive memories.,
This was a last-minute decision on a busy weekend Friday night check in around midnight we called even though they said they had their rooms available on the Internet and they did accommodate us promptly. Staff was friendly hotel was extremely clean staff very attentive very helpful breakfast was amazing the best Continental breakfast I’ve ever seen pancakes and waffles everything was refilled probably staff was so attentive and so kind definitely would stay here every time from this point on

2022-01-27This hotel needs serious updating & repairs! We were lucky if we could get the water to lukewarm. We tried at different times of day thinking it might be just overloaded. The refrigerator makes way too much noise. The TV was very outdated. The pixels were way too low so the picture was very unclear. Hardly no channels and no guide on the remote or in the room so it was difficult to find anything. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

2022-02-22Great value, comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff, and proximity to services. Good restaurant within walking distance. We especially loved the modern conveniences and comfortable bed. We would definitely stay here again.

2022-04-23Bathtub not properly cleaned and had grime/mildew all over it, the second room I was moved to the whole toilet was not secured to the floor and rocked, was dirty on the seat, multiple hairs on shower seat, grime/mold in bathtub and on shower head. The room was in dire need of repair and the tv although big horrible picture quality. would not pay more than $40/night for this hotel. Lady at desk on 4/22/22 in evening was very rude and said go to store down the road to get bleach wipes to clean the room and the housekeeper didn’t clean well enough were her words. would not stay here again, they wouldn’t give me a refund or move me to a clean/non damaged room. definitely do not stay with children!

2022-04-10Positive: Room was spacious, hotel was well maintained and conveniently located. Liked the variety of options in Breakfast. Staff was responsive and helpful. Negative: There was a strong smell in the hot water that took some time getting used to. The linens, carpet, floors, etc. were not spanking clean, especially the carpet - had some sticky spots in a couple of places.

2022-03-28Smoke free room stank of smoke. Front desk told me a heavy smoker must have been in the, odor from clothing. Asked for room spray recd only can available, it was broken. Room needed some new paint, towels were worn and stained. Morning staff didnt even look up during check out. Guess she was too eager to get outside with a coworker to ask how my stay was. Plenty of other hotels to chose from. Wont be back.

2022-03-21We stayed at this hotel passing through to Daytona Beach (approx 2.5 hrs away) The lobby was clean and the night clerk was very attentive and respectful. The lobby area was clean. We stayed in room 330 which was right next to the ice machine/soda machine. First, it waa so nice to have a working ice machine!! So many hotels, especially because of COVID turned off their ice machines or only limited it to certain floors. Our room was very clean. Our bed was very comfortable. All handicap spaces were taken so we drove around the building and parked on the other side of the building closer to the front door than the designated handicapped spots. I believe it is a shared lot with the next door hotel. We didnt eat the breakfast but was told they have waffles and pancakes as well as the usual hotel free breakfast items. The member rate was $107/ night for a king room. I would definitely stay here again.

2022-03-23Very nice property. I needed a first-floor room and yes they provided it for me on a busy night the price was extremely reasonable but most importantly the room was very very clean and I felt welcome which is important when youre a single Traveler the only thing that I would say as a negative is that when you advertise a complimentary breakfast thats included in your rate this was the first property I have ever seen that the breakfast attendant had a tip jar out at the breakfast area besides that it was a great property to stay at I was very impressed, thank you Best Western

2022-05-27The receptionist insisted that I gave her my medical reason for my service dog. I offered her my doctors letter stating my medical condition and the need for the dog. I also offered her the papers of the dogs training and his shots. She refused it all. She said I am a retired law officer and I know the law. You must state your medical issue and the dogs role. In order to sign in I explained it to her but I felt humiliated by her. Why not read the documents silently? Some disabled folks cant verbally yell out thier issues to the world. Its why I offer my documents. Sometimes its not what you say but how you say it. Her rudness was over the top.The room was clean. Except two issues the toilet tank edge was black. The mattress box spring was exposed and stained. The breakfast was marginal.

2022-02-07Positive: staff friendly and helpful, well maintained property, no pets allowed, appeared clean and well cared for Negative: breakfast ends at 9:30 which is too early for folks on vacation, several couples rushed to grab food, with current price of rooms it would not be unreasonable to expect food to be available until 10am. Coffee and juice undrinkable!

2022-07-02Fast check-in and check-out process. Our room was very clean, working A/C, hot water and great water pressure, the staff was friendly, breakfast area also clean and well stocked. Would stay here again.
