Great fast casual. The milkshake was amazing. The menu had a big variety of classic burger joint and diner type options. Everything we got was really good. The staff was very friendly. It is inside the American Legion but open to everyone. You can access the American Legion bar after 4pm. Good for food if youre visiting Forsythe Park.
Great food, great service. The place was very clean and I loved the Retro decor. You order food at the counter and take a seat. They bring everything to you. My group got a mushroom and swiss burger, $hit on a shingle, and chicken fried chicken fries. Portion sizes were just right. Prices were fair, and there was no shortage of flavor.
Bettys is THE BOMB. We came here for lunch and got burgers with fries. The burgers came out perfectly grilled and exactly as requested. The fries are great! The service was fantastic and they warmed up a slice of pecan pie for us. Dont pass up their milkshakes - huge and delicious.
We ordered the Nachos appetizer, Hot Pastrami sandwich, & Battle of the Bulge burger. The Nachos were OK - although a bit dry and flavor lacking, the chili on top was good. The sandwich had good meat but could’ve used more mustard. The burger was greasy and flavorful which was expected by the look of it and the price ($22)! We were not fans of the fries as they lacked flavor and were fried too hard. The restaurant was clean, service was good, parking was ample around 4 PM.
Food was good and atmosphere was fun. Prices were decent. This is really kind of a hidden gem because it doesnt look like a restaurant at all on the outside and there arent really any other restaurants nearby. When you enter the building, the restaurant is down the hall on the right past the bar.
I came here for a little celebration in finishing my finals and it was definitely a great experience. All the staff were super friendly, pretty quick and speedy service. The place was well cleaned and taken care of.The food was so good, I only got some fries but I’ve heard their burgers are amazing. I actually went for their milkshakes though. And I was not disappointed, I ordered a strawberry milkshake and the entire glass was bigger than my head! It tasted amazing! The place was a little difficult to find at first, but I had almost no issues with it. The actual store was so cool looking, awesome posters and pictures all over the walls. There was even great older music playing.Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to grab a quick dinner!
Super 1940s inspired cafe with an incredible World War Two inspired history on the walls and delicious food. The shakes are legitimately 2950s are are to die for. Hamburgers, pulled pork, pastrami- all great choices. It can get crowded but the line does go quickly. Food can take a while to arrive- when it’s this good, it’s worth waiting for.
This is a quaint little spot nestled inside the American Legion. Its a throw back Retro style American eatery with a menu thats straight outta a mans dream. a true melange of style and flavor from old style America. The Burger I got had two patties with cheese, topped with a fried egg and smothered in chili!! To die for. Had fries with steak and cheese on top and Viola!!! Thats my dream dinner that put me to sleep. The cheese was just OK on the fries. Meal was great though otherwise. Get a milkshake for old time sake
Wish they had more seating for this location but I understand its part of the aesthetic. Rather large portion sizes for the meals. Their chicken and fries was delicious as is their homemade chilli. The burger didnt really stand out too much. Had a coney island vibe to it.
A little pricey but they were up front about them being raised for COVID. They have a good veggie bean burger and the onion rings are great (I ate most of them before I remembered to take a picture)! I wish there were more onion rings per serving. Its located in the American Legion with great WWII memorabilia and decor. The staff was very friendly and the service was wonderful. The menus are also themed with WWII items. They also took wonderful COVID precautions.
The was our first official visit we ordered ToGo (everything was out of stock the first time we came a day or 2 after st. Patricks day) we got 2 steak and cheese 1 with onion rings and 1 with chips and queso and 1 large chilli cheese fries. Now I dont know of the onion rings were supposed to be that dark but they were not good and gave a bad aftertaste along with being really salty. The steak and cheese tasted burnt as well and was not too good. The chili cheese fries and the chips and queso were ok. Everything looked very appealing in the pics which is why we went but I guess we came on an off night and got burnt food. $42 spent and wasted coulda used it for Applebees instead. Dont think we will come back if we do it will be a long time from now. 🤷🏾♂️
What a hidden gem! Love the theme, the music, how the workers dress, the atmosphere everything! You order at the counter, and they deliver the food to your table. We read a WWII book while we waited. Ordered a classic bomber burger, with queso cheese! Also ordered the cheese steak hoagie and chili cheese fries! Wow! The food was delicious! Can’t wait to go back try the chili cheese hot dog. Also had a brownie which was yummy too!
We heard about this from our hop on hop off bus driver. Mainly about the Deep Burn burger which is made with a Carolina Reaper. It is located inside the American Legion. Decorated based on the bombers from the war. Interesting pictures on the wall. I only had the burger, and it was definitely hot and worth it. I was already sweating due to the Georgia heat, but the heat from the burger kicked it up a notch. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was clean. The burger was a little pricey and the only reason for the lost star. But it was definitely worth it. If you are into hot foods, this is a must stop on your list.
Fantastic burger - good flavor, NOT overcooked, hot, loaded toppings, good bun, about 1/2lb burger. Onion rings were great & the chili cheese fries were a table favorite. Service was friendly & a little slow; they were busy & the wait was 30 min, while 2 ppl (out of 6) waited 40ish min. An annoyance but I absolutely wouldnt hesitate to go back.Really great burger.
Cool WW2 themed restaurant that serves American fare. Nifty WW2 posters abound and the waitresses wear 40s style garb. There is an American Legion next door that serves cheap alcohol. Nestled in a college town around the corner from a park. If youre coming from I-95, takes 20-30m to get to the restaurant and can take awhile to get back to the highway due to having to use the bridge.
Wow, were we glad we stopped here! After one of our walking tours, we got a hankering for some milkshakes. Betty Bombers did not disappoint! The shakes are huge and are served in super tall glasses. Definitely one of the best milkshakes we have had over the years. We also got a basket of fries which were hands down some of the best Ive ever had. Full of flavor and perfect crispiness. No soggy fries here! Staff was super friendly and the WWII ambiance is great. Loved the old 40s music playing in the background, really set the mood. We will definitely be back here on our next visit to try some of their sandwiches and get those amazing milkshakes again.
$4 delivery. I had no idea that delivered!! The food is always good from here. Cant ordered a cook temp on the burgers, but that come out pretty good anyways, little pink. The burgers are big, the fries are always a little overdone. 5 stars for consistency. Good lunch for the money.
Visiting this beautiful city! I want to complement the attendants. So friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is from the 40s and the place is clean and orderly. Now to the food, maybe it is that Im not from the area, but the fried food was very difficult to enjoy. Just the smell was not appetizing. I got the fried chicken fried fries. Not my favorite from now on. The chocolate milkshake was pretty good. Onion rings were very good. Now my wife a chili cup and fries buffalo chicken fries. That was $55.00! I think that was, for the quantity and specially the quality, a highway robbery. For me, this will be a one and done place.
Super good American food in a World War II throwback dinner! We got 3 different beef burgers, a veggie burger, and a chicken sub. Each had fresh slabs of tomatoes and homemade pickles on thick handmade burger patties. I got the slaw and it was very tasty; the fries were very good as well! Everyone was pleased! We then ordered milkshakes and a coke float to go - shutup they were soooo good! Try the strawberry - its delicious! The ladies (servers) were dressed like Rosie Riveter - so cute! They were helpful and friendly! Super quick, good service, and the place was packed by the time we ordered our shakes. The only reason it isnt 5 stars is because they were out of several items including root beer and one of our party really wanted a root beer float :( They also really need a sign inside the American Legion pointing you to the restaurant.Ps. The bathroom was very clean!
We got nachos, chicken tenders, pulled pork fries and a couple of burgers. Overall, the food was decent. Portions are large and we had a ton leftover, so with the fries and nachos, its definitely enough to feed several people. Atmosphere is cool! That was our favorite part. We will go back and take our kids to check it out.
Massively overpriced. Mediocre at best. Only reason to go is the American legion in the same building has $2 super stiff well drinks and domestic beers with free pool and very very decent good patrons. If this were the legion review Id give it Five stars. ...the Carolina reaper jam is good but the food is lame and expensive
This place is very nice, its world War themed and Im sure would be heaven for people in the military. Their food is really good, their aesthetic is well put together. The people that work there are OK, they just seem chill and arent really putting too many efforts to make connections but thats not really necessary anyway. The restaurant is great!
Kinda run down /outdated. You order at the counter and sit yourself. Staff was friendly and food didnt take long. Philly cheese steak was good but the chicken tenders werent much better than store bought frozen nuggets. Old time decor was cool to look out. Easy food to grab if youre visiting the park.
Will definitely be back! I had The Bomber burger and my husband had The Spitfire burger, both with fries and chocolate milkshakes. The burgers were very well seasoned and juicy, the shoestring fries were perfectly crisp, and the milkshakes were thick and served in a frosted mug. Also, were always looking for kid friendly restaurants to take our four, this is going on the list. Ate great food while checking out plenty of cool WWII memorabilia.
The ambiance was really cute. The staff was attentive, quick and accommodating. I ordered the cheesesteak with fries, my wife ordered the pulled pork and onion rings and we got a hotdog and fries for our tot. This was our first time visiting this restaurant since we aren’t from the area. We walked here from our hotel. Nice walk and worth it. I recommend.
First, love the setting and the atmosphere. Second, the root beer float was AMAZING. Third, while it was pricey, they did explain they had to raise prices. However, my husband and I ordered just the regular cheeseburger and it was nasty. I wasnt prepared to eat a meatloaf burger. If I had known that was what I was going to get, I would NOT have ordered it.
If you are looking for a great place to eat in Savannah that has amazing food this is the place. The nachos were simply the best we have ever had. The cheese steak sandwich was too die for. The 50s Era decor is fun and the staff is super friendly. Check them out you wont be disappointed.
This was a perfect end to our day. Order at the counter, quick service, and delicious food. Burgers, fried, and sodas. VEGETARIANS- they have an amazing g veggie burger (fresh, white bean veggie burger! Yum!) perfect for hungry kids or impatient adults. Great location near Forsyth Park. Will be back for sure! Wonderful experience!
We arrived at 8pm with a party of 10. We waited to order and the first plate came out at 8:30 pm. I was almost done with my wings when the burgers started coming out. Long story short, the food was great, but as we were leaving the server immediately started rearranging the tables back. He yanked them so hard he threw chicken bones and plates on the floor. As soon as we walked out the door, he SLAMMED the door behind us. Gear food, but THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Ive ever experienced at a restaurant. My friends were here from Ohio. Ill never recommend going back there.
I have been eating at Bettys for several years and it is by far my favorite place to get a delicious burger, fries and chocolate shake. I finally got my fiancé to try it for the first time last weekend and the look on his face with the first bite is priceless. It was delicious as always. You are now his favorite spot to satisfy that burger craving. So much so, he wants to come back this weekend! Highly recommend to everyone.
We had two classic bomber specials, chicken fingers and fries, onion rings, two chocolate shakes. Everything was fantastic! The staff was extremely accommodating, friendly, and upbeat. It is very basic, a real old diner, and they had amazing decor made up of world war II era advertisements primarily for women to join the war effort. It was really cool. One thing, the description on Google shows this as a single dollar sign, indicating that it is inexpensive. it is not particularly inexpensive. The meals I described totaled over $50. That said, it was very good.
I had 2 order of wings(12 ea. for wings & 1 milkshake).. totaled $34!! Not worth the money. A 16 oz to go cup milkshake for $8... definitely not worth it! Asked for wings to be cooked extra crispy however I could not tell since they serve them wet. The taste was good though. Will try something else next time!
Man, this place was great! The food was amazingly delicious and they have super friendly service.I loved the WWII theme; the music and the decorations were awesome, even the old building makes you feel like youre going back to a dinner during that time.My family and I loved it!
Our tables order was brought out wrong 4 times. One requested no onions. Every time her food was brought out with onions, even the last time it still had onions and she picked them off. The service had a lot to be desired. The food runner had an awful attitude. The only reason they are getting 2 stars because the food, even though wrong, and fries was good.
This place is really good. We walked by and didn’t think it would be good but decided to try it anyways. Man I’m glad. Got the Salisbury Steak Sandwich and it was so freaking good! The restaurant also is really neat inside w a ton of military memorabilia. Next time I’m getting a milkshake too.
First time going and I was very pleasantly surprised! It may be a little hole in the wall sharing space with the Legion, but so worth it. I had a cheeseteak and the husband had the chili dog. Not a place for someone trying to lose weight (lol), amazing food, friendly waitstaff, and reasonably priced (even with covid charges). I want to go back most definitely!
Definitely a little pricey but very good quality. Everything is made to order. I had the deep burn burger because I love spicy food. It wasnt as hot as I expected but my girlfriend literally spit out the bite I gave her because she thought it was too hot. Your mileage may vary. She did however love the honey mustard wings she ordered.
My cheeseburger was delicious. The cheese was melted perfectly and the burger wasn’t too dense or rubbery. I strongly recommend this place for a casual stop. The decorations around the restaurant also add a certain enjoyment to the restaurant. I loved it here and hope to come back soon!
Great place for hamburgers and sandwiches. We stop in here for lunch on our way to Forsyth Park. Old Town Trolley has a stop close by. This restaurant is actually in an American Legion building. As Air Force Veterans my wife and I really loved all the memorbilla. The restaurant is clean and the employees are friendly. They do offer discounts to veterans.
Burgers are a little pricey, but well worth it as this hole in the wall stands out. Dont go to B&D, go here. The fries are there worst thing on the menu, and theyre not bad, just basic and bland. Theyre great for loading chili and cheese on though. Sandwiches are good, staff is great, and it is a little taste of Americana.... It just feels good to be there.
I cant say enough awesome things about this place! Its inside of a VFW post and couldnt be more perfect for its location. The walls are decorated with awesome vintage posters of WW2 times and others that showcase Golden Age of America. The waitresses are dressed as typical 50s ladies and are extremely friendly and accommodating. The first time I went my friend ordered something they didnt have available at the moment, so they offered her free dessert instead. It was really cool. They play typical 50s music in the restaurant and the whole look and feel is nostalgic. The food quality is amazing and the portions are large. I usually get the housemade veggie burger and fries and couldnt be happier with its quality. The peanut butter pie is delicious too. The menu is basic American fare with lots of options and its very family friendly. Finding parking is the only bad thing about the trip there. Anyone into 50s aesthetic should definitely visit and anyone into great food should too.
Ive never been disappointed with this establishment. Their burgers are delicious. They have a variety of different burgers and classic American eats. Even their wings are delicious. For dessert you have the option of floats and pies. The best part is that just 15 ft down the hall you have the bar which has the best prices for drinks in all of Savannah. Just be aware that the bar only takes cash.
Omg!!! So good. We got delivery...day one of our trip. Ordered a chili fries, buffalo chicken fries and the chicken sub!! Outstanding and the food was hot when it was delivery.Sorry I couldnt get to the Legion...as a member I would love to. TRecommend this place to anyone!!
We love Betty Bombers! Its a great local joint...really good casual fare. Its usually easy to find parking nearby and proximity to the park is great. Definitely family friendly. The bar adjacent has the best drink prices in town and has a cool throwback vibe. Bettys doesnt sell alcohol but you can get a drink at the bar and carry it into the restaurant without going outside. Check it out!
We were walking around all day in Savannah and didnt really know where we were, when we saw the sign for Bettys. Once inside we realised it was a place we had seen on Drivers, Dine In and Dives, so the excitement grew! The food was just perfect Americana - delicious, big, juicy and required a million napkins. The servers were lovely and overall a really cool place.
Cafe with burgers, shakes, cheese fries nachos and more inside the American Legion building. Tasty fresh food. Booth seating. Order at counter and food is brought to your booth. Very friendly staff. Food for all ages, kids to grandparents. Some vegetarian and gluten free choices.
If you love history and food, you’re going to love this place. The burgers are great and the atmosphere is so unique. This is a World War 2 era themed diner NOT a 50s diner. I wouldn’t even call it a diner really but anyway, this is a good place and you should give them your business.
My family had a terrible experience. We ordered 4 hamburgers and a chicken salad. All the burgers were way undercooked. We sent them back (we never send food back) and they still came back undercooked. The salad was decent, but it was served in a bowl so small that it was impossible to mix the dressing in. It was heaping over like an ice cream cone. To top it off these 4 hamburgers and 1 salad cost like $60 with no drinks.

2022-02-12Was very impressed with The atmosphere. It will take you back to the 1940s with its well thought out decor and music. It wasnt crowded at all and even offered a bar located on the other side of the restaurant. The location was easy to get to and very close to Forsyth Park. The food here was also very good and had great sized portions.Only part of my whole meal I wasnt impressed with was the salsa. It was very watered down and didnt have much of a taste or flavor.

2022-02-04Presentation of restaurant and food was amazing but I found the food to just be average. Staff was friendly and very helpful. There is no wait staff you order at the counter and theyll bring it to your numbered table.

2022-05-24Great vibe and 40s atmosphere (in a repurposed VFW hall), with for-real great craft burgers. One of the best meals we had in Savannah.

2021-11-19Nice atmosphere with the hanging airplanes and the WW2 paraphernalia on the walls, friendly and helpful service. I had the blitz burger and it was petty good. I love spicy food, and jalapeños go great with bacon. Honestly felt like it was a little pricey (I guess everything is lately), but I would definitely eat there again.
