When we came to this Big Blue swim school, the instructors knew exactly what my kids needed to learn and enjoy swimming. They have a great introductory offer and offer a free lesson, as well as a month of cheaper lessons, to see if it is a good fit. I really like this! Thank you to the big blue swim! We had it done a year of swim class before moving here, but after we settle down to a nearby swim school, my kids cried and disliked the chaos. After it becoming a traumatic experience, we decided to switch to the big blue swim school. The tears disappeared and my kids started learning again. I like that they keep classes small. I like it that instructors are well trained -and stay. I like that they are very flexible when I need to make adjustments for schedule. I could go on and on. My kids love it here!

I have been a client at this BB since it opened the original management and instructors were a 1000% more welcoming and tentative to teaching. Fast forward not sure what has changed but not the same experience.Once my daughter was moved to Big Blue 1 session I didn’t see the concentrated instruction. My thoughts are having up to 7 students in the class presents a major challenge for the students as they can be at different levels. I even asked to keep my daughter in the lower level as I felt she was being push through too fast but was not honored . My advice is to break the Big Blue 1 class into small students and only have instruction that is technically driven to build skill sets and add value to students becoming a true swimmer. I will not be renewing my daughter’s lessons because of this reason and agree with the other parents that even the cost going up was not communicated effectively.

I would give a higher rating if it wasnt for the inconsistencies of instructors. We have been bringing our kids here for about 3 months and have had about 3 different instructor changes. Not due to lack of instructors but the location moving instructors around. We drive 30 mins to come here because we heard great things about this location. When you have kids with anxiety consistency is important and having to continually change our schedule so that our kids can have the same instructor is RIDICULOUS. Its sad when they see their coach in another lane and ask why he/she is not with them. So once again we are having to change our schedule so that our kids can have the same coaches. This will most likely be our last month here. With all that being said instructors Conner, Amanda and Elijah are amazing with our kids.

My son has been going here for several months now, and he has improved so much with his swimming! All the instructors he has had have been so patient, kind, and encouraging with him, and I really appreciate that as a mom. He always looks forward to coming here. Thank you all!

My 6 year old has been going for about 3 months now. The staff is very friendly and we have never had a problem. Highly recommended.

I loved big blue for my son, but when he got into the “big blue” classes they are a larger group of students. They have 7 people in a class at one time they had 10 and one instructor. They do not teach them flip turns from swim team either. The price for the classes also went up. You would think that they would go down with the amount of kids in the class. They also don’t communicate with you that the price goes up. I will be ending my sons lessons at the end of this month. They offer the same class with less student and less money at the YMCA. 4 student to 1 teacher and it’s only 68 dollars a month if you have a YMCA membership. They also teach the kids the proper techniques for swim team. Again their class are really good up until they reach big blue level and then it’s not worth the money anymore. Also they don’t give them homework or things to work on like other swim schools do. Parents like that feedback on what their kids need to practice and work on.

We’ve been to Swim Atlanta and Goldfish before but decided to take advantage of Big Blue’s opening discounted classes and closer location to us. Now it could be age and development for our kids compared to before, but I definitely have easily seen the most progress in our kid’s swimming abilities at BB. My six year old used to use a floaty and now he’s easily swimming in the five foot side of the pool with no help.Facility is VERY nice and has been COVID forward I feel. Some of the parents not as much but it has improved with mask participation of the adults. Our kids have had many different instructors here and we have been very satisfied with each of them. You can perform class registration online on their website and ask for specific instructors which is nice, if you want that. I find their website to be VERY useful and better than the competition.Classes are up to 3 students per instructor. However, due to recent opening, pandemic and school starting for kids, attendance is low at the moment. This has caused my kids to either be alone with an instructor or with one other kid over the last week or two.Obviously I would like to see that pick up because I really would like to see BB have success and thrive in our community. Definitely check it out if you are local and your kids need to learn to swim.

My son has taken weekly lessons here for almost two months now, and already 4 of his lessons have been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances” or a code brown. Only once did they call ahead to tell me the lesson was cancelled - the other three times we found out at the door. If you are looking for consistency in swim lessons, we have not found it here and will be taking our son elsewhere.

Big Blue Johns Creek has been one of the best additions to our city. In my opinion, it far outweighs all the other swim locations in the area which we have tried. The instructors are 100% hands-on. The management team of Kimberly and Paige do not just sit behind a desk or hide in their office. They are highly involved as well and interact with each swimmer and instructor in the pool. When they are not with the student and swim instructor then they are in discussion with the parent/caregiver regarding their lesson. I have never witnessed so much one-on-one interaction as I have seen and experienced at Big Blue Johns Creek. I have truly been impressed! Our favorite instructors are Alyssa and Barry whom are both amazing. Paige is amazing as well, and Kimberly is nothing but phenomenal, and even jumped in the pool with my son and his instructor one time to help out and give pointers to both! I highly recommend Big Blue Swim School for your child! It definitely surpasses the competition in the area!
