The food was cooked just the way I asked and it was so good but the waitress was terrible. Once she took our order we never saw her again. The owner/ manager had to deliver it and that was only after went up to speak to the mgr. Prices are also good! Ill go back just not at her table!
Great food great servers. I Am from New Jersey and someone told me when i come check out Bills. So i woke up and came straight to Bills. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean this place was! Everything was great our food just came out at a staggered time when it wasnt that busy. Thats the only thing i would have to say about this place other than that, prices are great food was great. Just work on timely service.
This is one of the best HomeTown restaurants with great country food just like your mom or grandma used to make. Its authentic cooked fresh to order and they serve breakfast lunch and if you pick up a late lunch then youll notice the menu contains a lot of dinner food options. You can call ahead and order and they have it ready for you by the time you get there every time. Ill continue to eat here indefinitely unless I move away its that good!
We enjoyed coming here for breakfast. Great food and service. Stop after passing this place so many times. I got bacon eggs grits and biscuit all of the food was excellent I never order grits when I go out to eat because theres never any good these grits or actually like homemade butter and salt. I will be back to try to lunch one day
The parking lot was crowded, a good sign but we wondered if it would be a long wait. Its larger inside than it looks, they had tables available. We were seated and had coffee immediately. The menu has a good variety but isnt overdone; we found a well rounded selection and our order was served very quickly. Everything on both of our plates was excellent. Generous fresh portions, no reheating. We werent in a hurry but when we left we realized that from the time we drove in, had a great breakfast and walked out, was just over 30 minutes. Outstanding.
I love this place! It reminds me of what a family restaurant should be, and the food is great. Nice sized portions and friendly staff. The other one I could tell was undercooked. I only ate the darker part of it so all I have to say is work harder with the pancakes.Food served piping hot and service good. 70s style decor in a diner setting. Friendly staff too!!
Went there twice for lunch. First time had a lunch special but wasn’t offered a regular menu even when we explained it was our first time in the establishment. Second time, because the special was good we came back. Again not offered a menu just shown to the specials. Served warm sweet tea, no straws, no silverware. Fries were limp and very greasy, hamburger was just okay. It seems they gush over their Regulars but leave the unknown patrons on their own. Gonna give them a breakfast try next. Hope the food is better than the service.
THE BEST BREAKFAST IN AUGUSTA GA - HANDS DOWN! We found this treasure via the waitr app and have been amazed how every single time our order is not only correct- but perfect- Everytime! It cant be easy to cook perfectly poached eggs and a breakfast steak medium rare - and deliver it 10 minutes away- every time- yet they do! Well one day it was too early for waitr- so we went to pick up our order ...and this place is adorable! The staff is amazing! Friendly and courteous is an understatement! Probably going to dine at the little diner style bar next time! Bills beats any other place Ive ever had for breakfast in this city- bar none!
Got better food from a waffle house, ordered the chicken fried steak, it isnt even steak its a log breaded fried ground beef, they served it with brown gravy that clearly came from a can, all pretty tasteless the mashed potatoes were devoid of any flavor whatsoever. Also instead of giving me like some toast or corn bread with the meal something like that they gave me a half a left over pancake from breakfast that was cold like it just came from the fridge.
With this being our first time there, our server ignored us for an hour. Didnt bother to come check to see if we needed our drinks refilled, didnt come back to give us an update on our food nothing.. we got there at 11:20 by 12:25 we still didnt have our food or answer. Its a negative for me.
Came in this morning and sat down. The server came and she took our order. It the server several trips to finally get us our drinks. The food came out and then we were abandoned. My coffee ran out halfway through my meal, and it was over half an hour for the coffee to get refilled just before we were getting ready to go. My wife had emptied her cup about 20 minutes after me.Food was fine but the service left something to be desired. What made it worse was they were catering to the regulars and forgetting us.To me a drink glass should never go below have full of the beverage you ordered, unless you tell the server youve had enough.
Good home style food and very friendly staffEdit:Don’t be me and get there at 515. They open at 7 now. Still 5 stars though. Luckily I’m retired and and was able to sit and wait for a couple hours. 5 cars pulled up and left for krystals. I would love for that money to have gone to a locally owned place vs a trash chain restaurant
Bills has absolutely amazing home-cooked food for prices that make you feel like youre robbing the place. They have different menus of food every day of the week with rotating desserts of the day so one could never get tired of it! I will forever recommend this restaurant above anything 3lse in the area!
This is one of the worst places i have been in a long time. We got two meals on the lunch special. The fried pork chop and the country fried steak. The pork chop was hard as rubber, no exaggeration. I bent my fork trying to cut it and the plate almost flew off the table. The steak tasted like cardboard with no seasoning. The mashed potatoes were instant with no flavor. The gravy tasted like congealed fat. The creamed corn came straight out of the can with no flavor. The best thing was the peach cobbler, which was hospital quality. I will never go back and they are lucky I paid for the food.
The best breakfast and lunch value! The atmosphere is one of late 60s, early 70s dining. You seat yourself, the staff may have a tendency to call you hun and your food is cooked to order. If you want to get a quick biscuit created with a machine and loaded with fillers and fatty oils, with meat from God knows where, then head out to one of those places. However, if you want to sit down and go back in time with your significant other or family and enjoy a great breakfast or lunch, at an affordable price, then come to Bills Family Restaurant.
I love Bills an especially there Salmon Patties on thursday.I took my Sibleys there right before the close because of Covid 19.I said I will be back soon.Well I went back as soon as they opened even for the take out.Waitress said theyd open that following Monday.I hope this business an others like it are able to survive.I believe in supporting small businesses an I hope others will do the same.Bill an his employees were very nice.Look forward to my next visit in June for a Birthday.❤
When I entered the restaurant, no one greeted me. I stood there for a minute looking at a lady whom I just saw ring a customer out, look at me and go back to texting on her phone. So I sat myself. It wasnt to busy in there but it took someone over ten minutes to even come up to me and ask me if I had been helped. By that time though, I wasnt impressed with anything and I left.
I WILL NEVER GO THERE AND I WOULDNT EVEN WATSE MY TIME AND MONEY ON THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN I ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION BECAUSE IT WAS HIGHER THEN USUAL. THE OWNER RESPONDED YOU GO TO THE DAMN GROCERY STORE AND SEE HOW MUCH IT IS AND GET IT FROM THERE SO DISRESPECTFUL!!!!!!

2022-05-14Cant believe I just now found this place, it has been in Augusta for a very long time... and I can see why!WOW is all we could say when it came to eating lunch here for our first time ever.We both got the bacon cheeseburgers and asked them to add an egg on top. Amazing, this is a REAL hand made patty and grilled to perfection. Added on a heaping helping of fresh cut fries, again... AMAZING.Cant say enough about this hidden treasure hiding over off Peach Orchard Road, it is try a good experience eating out. Bring the family for breakfast also, I am sure you will NOT be disappointed!

2022-02-21Great local family food. Menu said they had been there since 1961. I believe it, the prices cant be beat, hands down the cheapest meal we have had as a family. But that doesnt mean the food was bad either. Food was a solid we liked it and would return. Staff was super friendly and quick. This is most definitely like a southern grannys recipe book. Grits, over easy egg and toast with corned beef hash for hubbys plate. Kiddo had pancake and bacon. Corn beef hash with scrambled eggs with cheese for me. I got biscuits with mine so asked for a small side of gravy. And side of home fries for the table. The biscuits were tasty buttery flavor with more crumble then chew which I prefer. The home fries was slices fresh potatoes that are put in deep frier, simple but good and nary a complaint for the table. The gravy is was ok, pretty sure it is canned or comes from the bulk mix. Overall the food was good, service was great, prices where amazing, and the family all liked it. Would recommend and go back. Always like supporting the neighborhood local establishment.

2022-02-10Very cheap and plentiful home style breakfast. Platters, omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches, etc they really have everything. Our service was outstanding. Those ladies were really in there hustling!

2021-08-12The daily lunch specials are always good. I like the Mac and cheese, and the chicken and dumplings the most, problem is, these two items are never available on the same day! The cornbread pancake is delicious as well.

2022-06-28Food is great the team works together the ac made need a little work as it got hit in there the last time we sat down but typically ac units do need servicing. I still give it a 5 star as I’m that satisfied with the food and service if your from Augusta your use to the heat. They did put some fans in the diner to help out.

2021-04-03Got Saturday breakfast of 2 eggs, grits, and country ham. Its not on the busiest stretch of Peach Orchard so you have to know where youre going but it was worth looking for. The country ham was generous for the price and I thought some of the best Ive had at a restaurant. Appropriately salty but not too much and more tender than most. Service was good and three different folks made sure the coffee cup stayed full. My sister got the Pancake special with city ham and took half of hers home. Good value too, less than 20 bucks. If youre on the Southside wanting breakfast Id recommend them.

2020-03-12Wait staff were kind and efficient. They recommended this lunch to me and it was delicious! (The cake slice didnt make it to the photo; Id already eaten it.) Ham was delicious, mac and cheese was homemade, the pancake was a little burned from the grill but too tasty too care, and the cake was rich and fudgey but somehow a little dry. I was also impressed that the prices on the menu were the prices rung up! Youll know exactly how much youre spending here.
