We visited twice in two days, and had a wonderful experience both times! I had never heard of biltong, so curiosity brought us in the door on the first day. We started with the biltong sample board. The flavors were wonderful, especially with the peri peri spices and coarse ground coriander on top. Im totally stealing the coarse ground coriander for my next chsrcuterie board. We also tried the oxtail with Carolina Gold rice. The oxtail was tender and packed full of savory flavor.. I highly recommend. As good as the food was, what brought us back the next day were the cocktails. Across both visits we enjoyed four of their cocktails, including three smoked cocktails. They were all beautifully balanced, full of depth, and original (at least for us). Each one takes some time to make, but your patience will be handsomely rewarded! It will be a challenge not to grab a drink there every time we visit Ponce City Market.
Fun place to try, especially for the biltong varieties. Get the mix so you taste the different kinds. Beware getting a plate of one type is pretty generous serving especially if you are trying to save room for dinner. Great cocktail menu, but we both must have picked mediocre ones; experiment or just get wine or beer. Were disappointed by the drinks we ordered, would not necessarily visit again since we already sampled the goods. Nice service and atmosphere - fun crowd and contemporary look in the interior. Enjoy!
This a nice bar in an AWESOME city market! The jerky was a unique spin on bar food, the liquor menu was extensive, and the service was friendly and accommodating...We simply got the cheese board with some of the cured meats. It was quite tasty with some local cheeses and meats. Thank-you!
We go to Biltong at least once a month (if not, more). Our favorite drinks are the See You Space Cowboy (available year round) and the Harvest Moon (which is a fall seasonal bev). Dont forget to order the popcorn with biltong during your visit! The drink pictured here is a winter seasonal drink (Grasshopper) 😉
Very knowledgeable staff, and super friendly. The atmosphere is always so soothing even when its very busy due to cool mellow tunes and abundant ambient-like lighting. I am a huge fan of a cocktail recently removed from the menu (Sage Advice) bring it back and Im staying in love.
Love love love this place! The atmosphere is amazing. It has a very clean, industrial feel. The staff was very polite and welcoming. I tried the Parmesan Popcorn and WOW! I was blown away at the taste and the amount of effort placed into the preparation. I would definitely recommend this to others. A must try!
Cant get enough of this place! I dont have lots of photos because apparently Im to busy trying everything. The cocktails are spectacular, the best Ive had in the ATL. The jerky, the popcorn everything is on point. The design and atmosphere are just perfect. Even though its inside PCM once you get in the bar all the hassle from outside its out of your mind and you can now just concentrate on those great drinks. #speakeasy #letsguide
I had been there before in Oct 2020. I had a daiquiri that was killer. I moved to Ga on Aug 2021. My wife and I went a couple days ago, I ordered a daiquiri. As opposed to telling me that they didnt have daiquiris anymore, they made me a strawberry margarita. The margarita was good but its not a daiquiri. The bartender should have been honest.
I for months kept passing this non descript establishment that offered alcohol and biltong, a form of beef jerky. Im perturbed at my resistance to try such a unique culinary experience. The biltong was...well biltong with a unique seasoning that is added to enhance the already delicious cured meat however, the quietest jem of the place is its mixologist whom have taken basic flavors to another level. If you dont like jerky oh well. Go for the drinks and holistic ambiance. 5 stars for me.
Amazing drinks, awesome jerky! Knowledge mixologists! A true gem in Ponce City Market! So glad we stopped by and Alex is one he££ of a bartender! Very lucky to have had him make some wonderful cocktails for us. Try them out! Do it! Now! The happy hour prices are surprisingly great, I didnt expect that at all.
Biltong is so cool. What can be better than jerky and whiskey? Seriously though, the food is great, the drink selection is fun and tasty, and the staff has always been great for us. Its a fun place to chill for snacks and cocktails while in Prince. Its also nice to get a table for a good meal. Well be back for sure.
Richard the bartender was very friendly. He made such amazing drinks, and was the reason we had the best time at this restaurant. I will come back because of him. I wasn’t a huge fan of the food but Richard engaged us, was attentive when we needed anything, and DAMN, he made a great cocktail.I hope you see this review one day Richard! You’re a fantastic bartender and wish you the best.
Fantastic experience from the start. The bartenders are so personable and helpful, the Biltong Grilled Cheese is something that I didn’t know I *needed* in my life. Seriously, such an awesome little hidden gem. And the drinks are bang on and then some. Will absolutely be back.
Pathetic attitude toward customer service. Ordered and paid for cocktails at the front counter. They ignored us in favor of several people that showed up at the bar well after us. Counter staff was clueless. Couldnt process a refund. Didnt care at all about our dissatisfaction. We should have known .went the night before and had a couple of good cocktails. Didnt have much of a clue about the beef jerky offerings. Im thinking tourist trap .I dont get the good reviews at all.
I wish I could give a more thorough review, but my entire experience was carried out at the counter. I was still hungry after dinner at the food court, and I decided to try some of Biltongs jerky because it seemed interesting. I had no idea what to pick or which jerkies would taste good, and I ended up relying completely on the fellow on staff. He recommended getting the traditional seasoning on the fat-on jerky (first thing on the menu), and Im glad he has good taste! The flavor of the seasoning was very surprising: herbs, citrus, a little sweet, but with the lovely beef flavor coming through. The texture was so tender. Every bite made it harder not to take another one, this stuff is addicting! The guy at the counter was very friendly and was very patient with my questions. I hope I can go back soon to get some more of that jerky but also to try some of the other things on the menu!
Very cool cocktail bar. Definitely the bar to go to in Ponce Market. Really enjoyed my experience and the delicious drinks. Not a cocktail drinker so the bartenders gave me great suggestion and were very knowledgeable. They also gave great recommendations around Atlanta
Whiskey and beef jerky. Its like this place was made for me. Located inside Ponce Market, my gf and I went in for a drink and a nosh and were not disappointed. The drinks are all unique, some named with subtle anime references (which we loved) and were delicious. They boast a HUGE selection of spirits. The vibe is a barnyard chic, with a little bit of smokehouse flair. The place was busy (good sign) and the service was attentive and kind. We got the tasting board of jerky. Five different kinds with varying degrees of fat, smoke, and texture. You can sit down and enjoy or get some for the road. Either way this place was delicious and I cant wait to go back and try some of their other offerings.
We had originally planned to stop here for a couple of drinks before dinner, but most of Atlanta went into a panic from the snow and shut down. We decided to still stop in for a few drinks before heading back to our Airbnb to order in dinner...we ended up staying close to 5 hours. Our server was amazing!!! Even working with a limited menu from a closed kitchen we had a fabulous meal and excellent drink pairings. Even though the bar was swamped due to being one of the few open places in the Ponce Market our service was attentive and all the recommendations were on point. We had a really wonderful evening and my only regret is that we arent in Atlanta longer to visit this place again!
Atmosphere is really weird here, did not felt like I belonged. The jerky sample was not worth it, as jerky/ meat lovers we were disappointed. Just go down the block to the charcuterie place I think that would be more worth it. The drinks are weird, they have like too much going on with all the flavors and garnish on top. Literally everything has a garnish here. Just not my type of vibe.
I tried the oxtail as they were out of beef pies. It was delicious if a tiny bit spicy for me. I wanted to try their housemade ginger beer, but their soda machine was down. I received a bottle of ginger ale instead, which was quite good. The only thing I didnt like was that the table water was lukewarm. When coming in off of Atlantas hot streets, chilled water is definitely preferred.
Biltong is my go to bar in Atlanta. All of their bartenders are talented and their quality ingredients are superb. Additionally, their biltong, essentially South African jerky is a perfect compliment to the beverage list. The service is impeccable and the staff are so nice. If youre in the ponce city market area and are looking for quality libations, I wholeheartedly recommend Biltong
We loved it here! My entire family enjoyed themselves. This was a large group of family/friends of 15 plus. They had live music and were able to accommodate our group too. The food options were a hit with the group too!The only thing is that they are usually really packed so make a reservation if possible. Also they have a more chill sister resto that is across from them worst case scenario that might be an option if you just showed up and got your feelings hurt because they didnt have availability.
Went to Ponce City market for Valentines with plans to just pick a place. Happy we landed here.Oxtail - deliciousBaked potato - fantasticCheese plate - incredible (that blue wow!)Pecan pie - A personal favorite and it was perfectService - 5/5Drinks from the bar - perfectThis was the best Valentines dinner in a long time, thank you!
I was upcharged $11 for an Old Fashioned. So.. A $23 Old Fashioned without knowing. I guess these folks dont cater to people that know Bourbon. Weller for an extra $11 when it is not even on the menu.... Screw you Biltong Bar! I have that whiskey plus spades, and Weller is $20 for a 1/5!!
While the atmosphere and aesthetics were extremely nice, I was a bit disappointed in the jerky. I consider myself a connoisseur of all things jerky, biltong specifically, and this was sub-par. I ordered all 3 types with the fat removed to bring home and the next day when I opened the bag to eat it, it had already began to mildew. Jerky is supposed to last longer than 24 hours. I had to throw it out. The place has good drinks tho which is what redeemed them.
I’ve been here before with family and alone and had good service and food. I popped in today after driving up from Middle Georgia to go to the mall in Buckhead. I decided to have some eats and a beverage before going to Whole Foods and heading back to Middle GA. I sat down and was greeted. The usual sort of thing. I had to ask for what I wanted to drink and eat, but was not queried after receiving the menu. I ordered hummus and a drink. Both were good. I finished with that and then asked the female bartender for a drink made with Mezcal, but too sweet, and a grilled cheese. Both arrived in good time, the sandwich cut into quarters with a salad. The food was good and just as I started on the second quarter, I was asked if I was done and wanted to pay. I did just say I just started to bite the second quarter of the sandwich. I was puzzled, and then asked if the bartender who was serving me was leaving. The busboy said no. Mind you not the bartender. So I said, I’m ok and I’m still eating. As I’m eating the 3rd quarter a waitress and not the bartender, asks if I’m ok and wanted the check. 😳 Did I miss something? I’m still eating!!😡 I finished my sandwich and asked for the bill, paid and left. I’ve been several times, but I don’t think I would return. It was the oddest experience. Not going again— poor service.
Aperol Spritz $5 from the Liquid Lunch Menu.Biltong: pick your weight 4oz $9 with the Fat On is always the best and add a choice of Spice. Peri Peri is a good hot kind of chipotle style spice, but tastes better. You can also try they popcorn with peri peri as a starter, nice and tangy.Great service from the guys at the bar. Definitely worth coming back for the meats and drinks.
We were all but ignored by Anthony & Asian chick. It was Friday afternoon & only bout 4-5 other guests so busyness was not a factor. The drinks on liquid lunch tasted like $5 drinks. Extremely disappointed cause I was really lookin forward to eating here. If u want bad svc & mediocre food, this is the spot.
I am South African and I can say from experience that the biltong here is not very good. The atmosphere looks really nice, but I did not dine in. I just got some biltong to go. It was a bit pricey, and the smallest quantity they sell was too much for me. They did not allow samples, so I went in blind on my purchase, and ended up with too much biltong that I wont eat now, because the taste wasnt satisfactory.I got the chilli bits and they were dry, papery, and flavorless. The nice atmosphere and drinks might make up for it for some people, but as a South African, good biltong is key. I would rather make my own.

2022-05-31Wow I’ve never had biltong before but this was delicious. The meat was so tender and the garlic seasoning was fantastic. Not salty at all. Drinks were great too

2021-10-04Nice, quaint, and legit. Sweet selection of curated cocktails, along with whatever else you may want. I’m not the jerky jerky lover in the family, but I appreciated the other options for snack fare. I went with the onion dip and chips as well as their mule. Very tasty and the service was on point. Enjoy!

2022-04-26First time I stopped in this place I was a little confused - it’s a… beef jerky bar? Then I tired some of their cocktails and the concept made way more sense. The cocktails are incredibly good and the South African jerky - “biltong” - (and other bites) are really just a complement to that. They do to-go drinks for walking around PCM and also have some seating. It’s one of my favorite spots!

2021-11-26I got a drink with glitter in it. It was really strong and it was enjoyable seeing smoke come out of the skull as the drink was poured into my glass.

2019-06-05I’ve always loved the jerky here but finally had the choice to sit down and enjoy some other food as well. The sandwiches were delicious. The charcuterie board with jerky was on point. And the beverages were very tasty. Our server did a great job recommending choices and answering our questions. Even though it was busy (as expected on a weekend) the tables turned over quickly and we were able to snag one no problem.

2022-05-21So disappointed. I lived in Namibia and know Biltong well, but this isn’t biltong. It’s not great jerky that they’re trying to pass off as biltong. Fine, but what’s worse is their superiority complex that felt dismissive, discriminatory, and condescending, if not outright rude. What a waste of money that soured our otherwise great day.If you’re a fan of actual biltong or decent service, I’d skip this place. 🤷🏻♀️

2021-06-20Honestly, it was just what I was looking for. a solid collection of whiskeys in the middle of Ponce.I did feel that that section was for some reason hotter? as if the ac couldnt reach that area. that was sort of bothersome. but wont stop me from going back
