Pretty good southern style seafood restaurant. Large place with plenty of seating, and a good ambiance. Service was excellent and there is a great kids menu.The menu is quite pricey, though portions are plenty. The BBQ unfotunately seems more an after thought. The brisket I ordered was mushy with taste of smoke and not much else. Not even the sauce could save it.Everything else we ordered was good. I would likely recommend to stick with the seafood here.
The food was decent. I know prices have gone up but the amount charged for the amount and taste is a bit much. Overall decent, just not like it use to be.

Since it was after a graduation there were large parties. The restaurant was not prepared for a rush of large groups. I had the grilled Gulf Grouper w/fried okra . It was good.
Wow! This is some of the best food Ive had in Albany. Blackbeards has a very clever menu hitting on all BBQ options as well as seafood. I had the shrimp and grits and it was cooked to perfection! Excellent portions of shrimp, sausage, and the creamiest grits you could ever eat! Great Job Blackbeards crew!!! I cant wait to come back for the oysters!

You get great portion for the price. Seating was quick . We were seated within 10 min. My wife had the pork chops dinner and was surprised when it came and she had 3 big chops with Texas toast. The pic show 2 of the chops and a few shrimp.she also got two sides . She said the chops were not overly season and fried okra was a good amount cover the whole plate.and bake potatoes was cooked nicely. Our waiter Daniel was quick polite and friendly and took good care of us. I had the rainbow trout. Nicely done and season with cheese grits.
Went to Blackbeards today... Ive heard about the spot, so I decided to go.....I am so glad I finally went.. the food was DELICIOUS snd the service was great... it was a very clean establishment.. I didnt have to wait long for my food, and I didnt have to wait a long time to be seated... if youre in the Albany area and want some good food.. you wont go wrong stopping by here.. they have a variety of food to choose from on the menu.

We will never spend a $ again in this place. We ordered Chicken bbq, ribs bbq and pulled pork is so freakin dry. My father in-law was not happy and throw the chicken bbq in the trash.
VERY NICE SURPRISE!!!! My expectations was very low for this place. I mean a seafood and bbq restaurant? My experiences have been AWFUL @ these type eaterys. As soon as you walk in. The decor tells you DONT ORDER BBQ!!😂😂😂. There are fish, fish ,fish, fish pictures, local catches and EVERYTHING SEAFOOD. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! Our server Sharon ( Stone ) was attentive and super nice 😊? We asked about ribs and brisket. We didnt see anyone else eating bbq. This further terrified us. Sharon said trust me ribs & brisket are very good We were like yeah right😂. She WAS NOT LYING!!!Both ribs & brisket passed the NO SAUCE test!!! Very deep flavor, tender and pink. Same for the brisket. Nice mustard sauce that adds a kick👍🏾. Not the BEST ribs BUT GOOD & RESPECTABLE. Even Mr. Dunbar of Dunbar BBQ said the ribs were good and that he remembers going there as a child. This experience stumbled me!😂 If you have not been, you should go. I need to try the seafood now. Its gotta be GREAT!!! Your boy The RIBOLOGIST IS OUT ✌🏾

Staff was friendly and helpful . I ordered the Mahi Mahi fish. Wasnt the best but wasnt the worst. I will return but will try another menu item.

I was going to go to sonnys down the street but decided to switch once I saw this place! Parking lot was full, the building looks pretty nice, figured out might be a good place to eat! I walked in and made a joke to the hostess that I was going to sonnys but decided to come here and I asked if I made a good choice, never expecting an honest answer and was surprised when she said no! I then waited for the servers to figure out whose section I was in, I told them I didnt care who served me but maybe I shouldnt have said that, my server was horrible, I asked her if the brisket is cut thin and she said that she didnt know, I asked if she was new and she said that shes been here for a few month, I asked her if the food was good and she said eh which I took as a no but decided still not to walk out and go to sonnys! I ordered the brisket and potato salad and upgraded the second side to a bowl of clam chowder! She comes back about 5 minutes later and tells me that she totally forgot that they ran out of brisket, so I ordered the ribs with the same sides! I was expecting my chowder ahead of time like normal places do but no big deal, my food comes out and its a small dish a chowder, I ask her if that was a bowl and she said they messed up let me get you the right one, I said dont worry, change it on my receipt, she then said that she already printed the receipt and she only charged a dollar for the upgrade and that it would have been 2 or 3 more for the bowl, so I said then you messed up and put the wrong one and she agreed! Lol!The potato salad was alright, a bit too much mustard but tolerable, the ribs were sponges of fat and grease, the clam chowder tasted like clam flavors mashed potatoes! When I paid the server stood right there until I signed the credit card slip and said that she has to make sure that she gets her pen back! I should have listened to all the signs and went to sonnys! Very disappointed, left half the food! I am now going to go find somewhere else to get a quick bite to get the grease taste out of my mouth!
Order was placed via phone. Staff was not concerned about the long wait for order that was placed 3 days before cut-off and got upset when questioned about the delayed order (a young man). Management had to be summoned and she was apologetic (after almost 2 hours later). Waited an hour and a half because information given over the phone was not taken correctly. The dressing was only cooked around the edges and I was not told why it hadnt been cooked as ordered. Orders were still taken after the cut-off date (22nd). Staffer lied about my order was on the way. He hadnt checked on my order because he didnt know what I HAD ORDERED!!! I should have been informed about the mix-up and given the option to come back later. Blackbeards need to get it together or stop preparing holiday meals!

I went here twice about 10yrs ago & thought the food was amazing and we never forgot it. Didnt live up to my memories. Theres a way to cook a steak well done without making it dry as a desert & most cooks dont get it. I was only able to eat half, and that was drenching it in steak sauce. The cream corn was full of pepper, couldnt finish it it was so hot my eyes watered. The toast was almost over brown on one side & wasnt brown at all on the other, it was plain white out the loaf. My husband liked his steak, though not as much as our usual steakhouse, and he didnt care for the rice. The Cole slaw wasnt bad, but it wasnt good either and neither one of wanted more than a couple forkfuls. We saw a nearby table where a man got some type of seafood & that was still like I remembered, enough to feed two people. Overall, we werent thrilled, dont have to come back if we come to Albany again.
Reasonably priced, great food, generous portions, outstanding service. Had fried pork chops(2) sweet potato soufflé, potato salad, green beans. Also came with yeast rolls and cornbread and fixings...very enjoyable meal

The place was not crowded. The hostesses greetings were good.The food was good and hot when it arrived at thetable. The only issue I had was trying to pay with a gift card. The cashier had a hard time trying to use them. The price for the food which was dinner time can be rated as $ $ $, but got a lot for the price.
You get your moneys worth. Only thing that I didnt like and they really couldnt help it was they were understaffed and we had to wait for a table and server. They did have a sign saying they apologize for the wait.Our server didnt even go on break so we could go on to the table and eat. We had 10 in our party (6 adults 4 children) and the service was excellent. The food was good and hot. Very fast for not having a lot of staff. Will go again.
I ordered the 18oz Ribeye and my wife ordered the grilled butterfly shrimp. Everything was great. Our server Kendall was very attentive. One of the better places in Albany to get a steak in my opinion. The chain owned steak house restaurants in Albany have really been slacking lately. We had the shrimp and crab parmesian dip for our appetizer and it was delicious as well. I look forward to eating here more often.

Placed pickup order wanted seafood platter for two was told by girl on phone that they didnt have platter for two anymore only had regularplatter that it was for two got there to pick up order and wasnt for two so said would add another platter give me order had to wait 20 minutes for additional food so now original order is cold and mushy they should have remade order sorry service when walked in girl was on personal phone will never order here again and definitely wont recommend

Great place to eat! The staff, owners, and food are amazing. Definitely my favorite spot to eat. I love the atmosphere. Its so laid back and the wait isnt very long. Id rate this place more than 5 stars if I could. Something for everyone! Linda has been our server, she is amazing!
I believe the prices are higher than normal. Took a while to get the order. They did not have what I originally ordered.
Waitress needs to learn customer service. Had to ask twice for a fork. Never got refills on tea. Never got hushpuppies that we ordered for appetizer. Got one meal and side for the second but never got second entrée. Worst time ever. Never going back. Manager let us know we werent the first with problems from this waitress.

I had the catfish dinner and it was fabulous! My husband had the rib eye steak and he said it was cooked exactly as he requested and was really great. This was our 49th year wedding anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed.

If not for the tea and fried green tomatoes they wouldnt have gotten 2 stars. They were slow. there may have.been 2 other tables at most. If you have eaten there you know they have large beverage cups. I emptied mine and most of my wifes before getting a refill. All our meals were lacking any warmth and the Brunswick stew tasted like pure ketchup. Maybe we had bad luck but nothing from this experience makes me want to go back.
Only reason I didnt give a 5 star cause they are always missing something out my order. But they are very understanding once you check your order and let them know, they are very hard working even while short staffed... Food is good..

Since the reopening Blackbeards has once again raised the bar on Seafood and Traditional Cuisine.It has once again become not only one of the best dining places in Albany, Georgia, but one of the best in the whole State. It was a sign of goodness returning to our lives.Nichole gave us great service with a beautiful smile and Welcome.

Husband and I went in for dinner. We were seated and given menus and 20 minutes later we were still waiting. Servers kept passing us but no one even bothered to take our drink order. So we left. Wont be returning to this location.
Well let me start by saying that the food is great and I love taking my mother here to eat. On this day 5/9/ 2021 our server name LaPricia was wonderful and did an excellent job she was very attentive to our needs.The reason for three stars happens to be the attitude and thoughtlessness of the so-called manager on duty. She was wearing a green shirt and obviously did not want to be there. She began in a loud voice fussing about customers being seated after 3:00 using the F word and other explicatives in a loud voice. She was obviously angry that patrons would be seated between 3:00 and 3:30 because the restaurant was closing at 4:00. She was obviously oblivious that we were sitting in a booth so close to the waitress station. She slammed things against the wall through things against the back of the booth and was just not thankful people were there that pay her salary.Hopefully she was just having a bad day but when you work at a popular restaurant on Mothers Day you expect to go the extra mile for the customers. If you have to stay at work longer thats the way it is.We will come back but hopefully not sit close to the loud bickering and fussing.

The young man that was assign too our table was so so friendly so helpful and i felt so welcome from the last time i went with a friend i will be going back because i told myself dont let anyone stop you from enjoy yourself and you paying for your meal and its there job too give you what u wanted but this time i enjoyed myself and im thankful i had a good server this time.they get a A+ from me loving going there around 6 it was so relaxing and less people.
The food was tasty and the service was excellent. My baked potato was warm, not hot. That was minor, and I will be back. The fried shrimp is excellent.
Tried the shrimp tacos here and I must say that they were fabulous. The shrimp were crisp and and sauce was good. The flavor was really on point. The food portions were quite generous. Even though I was with a large party and had to wait over an hour for a table, I really did enjoy the food. I will definitely have to get the shrimp tacos again although I will more than likely pass on the sweet potato fries. Keep up the good work.
I love the seafood there so much, that I often overlook the barbecue, which is just as good! The service is always great and you get plenty to eat while you are there!
You cant go wrong with the seafood here. They should sell their tarter sauce is so good. Their menu has a large range and cant wait to try more things but its hard to get past the seafood.
So I originally ordered from these guys from ordereats and the briskit was AMAZING so was the creamed corn and baked beans. Unfortunately I think maybe an accident so I tried to contact order eats to let them know that my fried green tomatoes and oyster po boy was SO salty. Got NO where with them they had the audacity to tell me to contact the place it self. So I did hoping theyd have a number for order eats. And the lady who answered was beyond polite let me explain and transfered me to the manager. He took care of it IMMEDIATELY and was even kind enough to deliver the fixed order HIM SELF!! Its rare you find this kinda service in 2021 10 out of 10 AND the food he brought was EXCELLENT the oyster stew was flavorful and rich and the PO boy oysters were fried to perfection :)

We got our food to go.....service was fair and the food was ok came out warm, fries was great, sauces are great but thats about it.
The menu is massive! Had a hard time deciding on what to get because of so many options. Fortunately we were there with two other couples so we saw a cross section of 6 meals. I had the pork bbq and my wife had the grouper. Both were delicious and the others at the table all agreed we would be coming back.

The 1 star is only because theres no opportunity for negative stars. Major issues at this restaurant. They cant use covid, busy or under staffed as an excuse. I have never been more embarrassed of making a dinner choice in my life. I really should have taken the 4 hostesses that kept say five minutes and five more minutes for seating a family of 5 the red flag. After 45 minutes later, we were seated. Ive thought about this all night and I cant really figure out what happened, maybe it was because I was still hungry. Sweet tea and waters took another 30 minutes to get. We chose the mushrooms and the pickles as appetizers, wrong choice for the mushrooms crumbs! Pickled were good. (Thank goodness because thats the highlight of our dinner) Another hour and half went by and our food is brought out by 2 females that apparently do not like one another. The tray our food was on got slammed on another table while one of the females said you got to do this, Ive got my tables. Mind you, neither females were our original server whom boasted about his title. As the female server passes out our plates she comes to what she assumes is a basket of fries. I mention its for my grandson and believe it or not... she used her fingers and rummaged around the basket to find the mini dogs. I was in shock and actually starting to think hidden cameras were watching us for a reaction. At this point we are missing a few items and we ask for them, she does saying anything and just walks off. (I truly believe wholeheartedly she was under the influence) I went to the kitchen area and notice other customers are actually walking in the kitchen to find whatever. As I stood outside the kitchen door, our original server appears and I request the missing items. Back to my seat I go and as I sit down, I notice a foul smell coming from my sons plate. At that same time, he is turning all shades of disgust and runs to the restroom. Once he returns I tell him that his fish and/or oysters are spoiled. Our server later removed those items from our bill. We are at 3 hours into this disaster and our server appears asking if we are ready for our check and to go containers. I can say that my Dad enjoyed his turkey but everything else that could be safe for our dogs, were taken to them. We paid, left and sizable tip and left hungry. All of us except my Dad, he enjoyed his food. Drug testing is a must in this place and theres tons of liabilities that could and maybe should close their doors. Its sad because so many small businesses are closing for things out of their control. These issues at this restaurant are controllable and needs immediate attention.
Bad service. Waitress walked off while we were placing our order. She gave us sweet and low to sweeten our tea when we asked for sugar. We had 3 cups of tea; one was sweeten and the others not. She tried to charge us for some fried green tomatoes that were horrible. We told her that she can keep those tomatoes. Not eatimg there again.
Just called in a order we 15 min late on phone orders, but we can drive up there an place our order, which is till 11:00 and its 8:43 now. I said we want to order a 150-200 dollars worth but it doesnt matter. If you take the order on the phone and we drive 20 minutes to get there it would be ready ,, I guess this thumbs down will go with the other 40 disappointed customers. Last time.

Fist time Ive eaten here. I always heard it was good! I got fish tacos... the sauce was a little strong but it was still good. I would definitely come back and try more. It was a weekend when we came but they have great lunch special prices!!
The food is always good, but our server Regina was kind of rude and not knowledgeable. She had to go and ask someone every time we had a question. My meal was not served with the hush puppies it usually comes with every time we come. When I asked Regina she told me I must have gotten lucky the last time. I had to ask for silverware, the condiments were dirty, and we had to ask for water multiple times. When I gave my military id she told be they have never done military discounts, but we’ve gotten the discount the last 20 times we have come. Instead of walking away to let us fill of the receipt, she sat and watched us as we signed and filled in the total amount.
I ordered a popcorn shrimp meal, but was given butterfly shrimp instead. I immediately returned shrimp meal. Order taker eventually returned meal to kitchen only to have same exact order returned to pick-up counter unbeknownst to me ( lukewarm okra, shrimp and hush puppies). Orders were being corrected the entire time I waited on my corrected order, so I thought.
Have visited this place on two occasions and enjoyed it. The servers are nice and they give you plenty of food for the price. You definitely will take a to go box. The only negative thing I could say is I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was not fried hard enough. The skin was soft and I would have preferred the skin be a little harder. Also the color of it was not pleasing to the eyes. But everything else was good. May return when I am that way visiting my neice at school.

This place is whats happening. I went in and made my order. Went back to my car to talk with my friends. Went in to check on our food, the check out person said its ready. She even remembered me. The fish and ribs were delicious. Even the sides were very good. Will return, thanks Blackbeards.
Trash drinks are watered down and food is of a large quantity but isn’t good. Price is wayyy too high for the food. Waitress could of gotten a real tip if we had service worth of anything.

Warm up the green beans -We got there and were seated promptly, waitress came and never introduced herself but she was nice and attentive so really not that big of a deal.Food was pricey but worth the price. Soneys bbq is so expensive and you barely get anything, this place you pay a little bit more but you get a very good portion of food. My cheese grits were so hot they burnt my tongue. (Good thing, rather hot than not!). We got a good little appetizer of pickles and onions, yum! Then I ordered the ribs and they were delicious. I have left overs and I am excited about that!Bathroom was clean.We will be back for sure!
I just don’t know where to start. This is my second time going to Black Beard and the food was not up to par and I’ll never go again. The crab legs were dirty, the food was super salty and I had an entire onion skin in my shrimp in grits. I don’t know what happened to this restaurant but it used to be better than this. I don’t recommend this place.
Decent food when you can get it, but I just want to say that I have attempted to call this location at around 5-6pm for the past 3 days. I either get no answer at all, I am sent straight to voicemail, or someone picks up the line just to hang up. Normally that doesn’t happen, so I’m a little confused? They just lost money 3 times in a row though. My whole family of 7 was ready to place an order. We just ordered Longhorns instead.
Service was slow. The food runners here love to talk over your food when they bring it out. I have complained about that before at this restaurant. I know they have to verify the order before placing it on the table but turn your head to the side so that your spittle doesnt flavor my food!They brought out the food without silverware so we had to wait for that. But once settled, the food was good if a little under fried. We have had good experiences and bad here but will most likely go again.

We were on vacation and stopped here on our way. The food was excellent, plentiful and affordable. The staff was super friendly. They were taking precautions to protect customers from COVID-19, but still made you feel your business was valued.
Albany on a Sunday is not the most active locale, but thank god for Blackbeard’s! They are not only open but they offer good food and good atmosphere. Always great to support local, they serve very good bbq as well as seafood.I also need to recommend the unusual starter that is brought to the table when seated. Though “I’m not from around here” is readily apparent in this case, I must admit the onion/pickle/crackers are quite tasty. I was skeptical at first but man that is not bad! Add a touch of lemon for good measure.

We had a babyshower there today... the front house manger was our waiter ,He did a great job! ..only complaint was while we was all eating we found 3 live Roaches on our table one fell from the ceiling into a plate! They did give us discounts on the food but still lol I personally wont be returning.
Great seafood and atmosphere! Staff was nice and the food was cooked perfect and fast! If you are looking for good local seafood, this is the place! Even on busy nights we did not wait long to be seated. If you have a big party, they have special large rooms in the back so your party can enjoy itself without everyone else there. Great place.

The food was really good! We placed our order over the phone and did a pick-up and it was soo good! Just as I remembered it was Pre-Covid. A group of friends and I would frequently go there after church on Sundays... But since COVID, this was our first-time back (for pick-up). The only thing missing was the sweet waitress we used to get. But we Love Blackbeards.

It was a friends birthday. 7 adults & 1 child. Waitress tried hard but had three (3) groups. Slow on pickles & onion plates & refills. The food was great & plentiful. Everyone enjoyed. Waitress saved the day when she gave the birthday girl a beautiful desert & comped a couple of Cole Slaws.

I ordered 3 family packs for after a funeral was missing the chicken and I ordered chopped beef instead they gave me sliced half cooked beef had to recook it customer service was poor poor they wanted me to bring everything back so they can go through it. Will never go there again!😤
The crab bites appetizer was delicious. The butterflies shrimp were excellent. Chicken fingers were ok but small and lacked seasoning. Fries are good and cheese grits awesome. My server was great.

Waitress was very patient with us while we made our selections. It took longer than usual to decide because of all the great choices! Eventually we both settled for BBQ and it was a lot of food! Would recommend to anyone stopping by Albany.
I have been eating here since I was a kid. It was my grandparents favorite place to eat. Its still nice. Food is still good. Tables were a little sticky and our waiter was wearing way too much cologne, but he was nice.
Our whole meal was so delicious. You havent had good fried okra til youve had Blackbeards; it was on a whole new level of good! The grilled and blackened shrimp cant be beat. Service was super friendly and accommodating. Too bad they are 1 1/2 hours away!
Came here from Florida for my Dads 70th Birthday. We had a group of 20 people, the food was delicious. Everyone was full and satisfied. Our waitress Jessica was Awesome. She handled the whole group alone. Awesome job to Jessica and the entire staff!!
The food was delicious, the building was extremely cold, which you may need to take a jacket or sweater, rather too cold than hot. Over all 5 stars.

Had the fish tacos and a half dozen Oysters. Autumn was my waitress. Food was great at a reasonable price. Autumn was very friendly and helpful. Drink got low but it never got empty. Highly recommended.

Food was decent. Staff member was nice, but should be more knowledgeable of items on the menu. Fried fish was a little bland. Hush puppies were good. The cold slaw was good, but you only get a tiny bit.
On our drive back home to Florida we decided to try Blackbeard’s hoping for some great bbq and they didn’t disappoint! Ribs were super tender with a lot of flavor! Chopped pork and sides were good as well. I loved the homemade pickles brought out with our meal. Andrew was friendly and attentive. Great food and great service!

Horrible service- once we were seated the waiter did not even acknowledge us for around 10 minutes, but he went to the table beside ours 3 times. Pulled pork was dry I got all you can eat but I didnt even finish the one plate as a matter of fact I barely touched it. The waiter didnt come back to check on us from the time I got my food until it was time for the check. The person who I went with got a seafood platter and the fried oysters were overcooked. Im not sure if I will go back.
The food was very good, probably 4/5 stars. The service was excellent though. They didnt have an issue when we showed up with a party of eight on a Saturday afternoon and the waiter was very friendly and attentive.

I will never spend my money in this restraurant again. It was flithy, rude staff, food was nasty!!!! They served catfish as grouper!!! I was served tea in a cracked glass and it continously leaked onto the table.
The food is good. You get decent portions and the staff is typically on point.The only negatives are that theyre just a little pricey for what you get on certain items. And the every single time I go, the bathrooms are in absolutely horrible shape. Overflowing trash cans, dirty toilets and sinks, the works.
Every time we go the food has always been good and the customer service has been outstanding. It may seem a little pricey when you glance at the menu but the portions are plentiful so youll get what you pay for and its worth the visit.
My grand son an I, had lunch there today . The food was awesome. Love, love their farm raised catfish filet, cheese grits an fries. The service was great. They have all u can eat cat fish or mullet every night. Awesome rite. Great choices of sides , good prices...... So come enjoy. Have quick lunch or relaxed nite out.

Dash was our server. She was very friendly and attentive to our table. Dash constantly checked on us. She made our experience pleasant. I highly recommend asking for Dash when you visit. The food was very good, as well.

Food was good and always have been but this time soon after finishing my meal I started having very bad stomach pains, like I was being stabbed in the gut. I dont know if its food poisoning or not but it sure didnt start until after I ate it though.
My extended family and I dined here on Saturday July 27th for a family gathering. The staff were friendly and moved quickly. The food was good and served hot. The downside to the evening was how chaotic delivering the food was. Finding where an order of okra or fries belonged versus a side was a little confusing in a somewhat large crowd.An order of sweet potato fries came up and, when no one claimed them, I asked if it was possible that they were a side order to another meal. We were told yes and the plate of fries was given to my niece. SEVERAL minutes later, after we had nibbled on the fries, my nieces meal came out with her fries. Someone mentioned they were missing an order of sweet potato fries, another waitress grabbed the plate of fries we had already eaten out of, stated These arent yours then HERE ARE YOUR FRIES, and started to walk the fries over to another family member before I stopped her. Even if we had not eaten out of the fries, its completely inappropriate to grab an order that had been sitting for several minutes, to give to someone else. We were horrified when we realized what she was about to do.Also, Im assuming its the norm to pass out cups of tarter sauce but we had probably 20 unused, unrequested cups of tarter sauce that sat while we dined. I hope no one else received them.
The Service was poor and the food was a disappointment the oyster stew only had 3 oysters in it and the crab cakes was dry and was on a bed of rice. the fried okra was cooked to long and was hard. also was being pestered by a fly at our table also a lady sitting behind us was smoking in the restaurant
I normally have a great review for this place, but they upset me so terribly. I ordered a family pack, which normally take 15-20 minutes during the week day. Well, I ended up waiting over an hour, because they neglected to tell me they didn’t have ribs and actually cooking them instead of giving me the option to choose something else or to wait. They also had part of my order on the counter waiting. I would not accept it and asked for fresh food. First time for everything.
Great no frills BBQ joint. It’s been around forever but in the past few years is more accessible at the Slappey location. You can get just about anything you’d like off the menu here. Sweet tea is always delicious and the fried okra is great!
Went here today. Was shown a table and told a server will be with me soon. I waited and waited until I eventually just walked out and went to Sonnys BBQ across the street. Had a great meal there.
Ok place. Great service. Friendly waiter. Plenty of food with all the sides. Best coleslaw I have had in Albany. But overpriced. Didnt feel like the place was nice enough inside to warrant the prices charged. Old outdated decor. Dirty carpet. Dim lighting. Prices will probably stop me from going back. Bill for one person was around $30.
First time to this place. My aunt wanted to treat me for my 50th birthday. It didnt disappoint. Had the special, which was meatloaf. The only thing I didnt like was the bread that came with it. Besides that, it was top shelf.

Service was good. The food wasnt. The oyster stew was warm milk, butter and oysters. You could easily tell it had not been simmering. Cheese grits were this and had no flavor, Brunswick stew was vinigery.
Food was good, the staff we encountered, however, was HORRIBLE. We waited 10 minutes just to order drinks (the restaurant was not busy). There was a problem with one of our orders, and had to ask another waiter to get her so we could resolve it. Her personality was as flat as a piece of paper, and she was the most monotone and unhappy waitress Ive ever encountered.
The staff is always friendly; however, on several occasions, the ribs received were like leftover ribs from previous days :( but the brisket is always tender and juicy :).
This place is a local favorite. They started as a small restaurant in east Albany and moved to a central location on Albanys main avenue. For several years, they now pack the crowds in for lunch and dinner. Come early on Sundays to beat the after church crowds. Great selection for seafood and BBQ. Something for everyone, A great place for the southern fare in general. The Server staff has varied over the years but I have never had bad service or food. If you are visiting Albany, definitely stop in and enjoy the local southern fare.
On a business trip and first time here. I really enjoyed my dinner. I had grilled trout, hush puppys, potato salad and cream corn. Wow, was this good. Very good service, clean and some local character. The sweet tea was also good.

Terrible customer service, I called my order in and they told me 10-15 minutes, I was there over 45 minutes and never got my meal. I only ordered two pieces of catfish fillets and a side salad. Just terrible
Love this place.Went for my birthday. Every year they send me a certificate for my birthday. I have never been disappointed. Get BBQ and.fish. Fried green tomatoes are to die for!! Oh and dont forget to get some cheesecake to finish it off. Very friendly staff!
Waiting time was average for family restaurants. Waitress was Crystal and she is beyond 5 star - pleasant, brought our food out without much wait - the place was packed and we had a party of 18. Everyone raved over how great the food was. We could hear each other talk without yelling and all of us were on long joined tables.
The food here is pretty good depending on what you order exactly. Very family friendly, clean restrooms and generous staff/waitress DO NOT order drinks here however. If you are dissatisfied with your drink (& you will be) the manager will not take them off your bill. Shell give you another drink from their bar that is located in the kitchen. Luckily, I ended my meal paying for only one set of drinks because the next round the manager offered us instead of a refund was just as bad as the first round. So now there are 2 rounds of bad drinks for them to throw away b/c the manager will only replace your drink not refund it.
It had been over 8 years since i had been a few things have changed and one big thing like no in bone catfish on the all u can eat but the fillas were still good all in all i was satisfied

The food was good. The waitress was polite. We wanted to use a birthday coupon but was disappointed that it wasnt honored because we didnt order 2 full meals. This was not what was in the coupon description.
Food wasnt that great. Took a long time to get our order and then some of it was wrong. By the time the order was correctly the rest of our party had finished eating. Had to ask for drink refills. Ive been here many times and it was always good. Must have been an off night.
To whom it may concern, lately when we been coming there our order have been wrong, my husband asked for jimbo shrimps they gave him popcorn shrimps, one granddaughter ordered chicken fingers basket chicken was dry and hard the server did take it off, one granddaughter ordered potatoes salad it was not good. Not very Happy with the service as we were in the pass. If I rate now it will not be a good one .so I will pass at this time.

Linda our server was nice and very accommodating. The tea, lemonade, and Cole slaw was excellent. The grits was watery and the fried shrimp was salty and very disappointing. I feel like I wasted my money. This is not the Blackbeards Im accustomed to.

We came from Ohio on a visit to MillerCoors and they took us there, the portions were large and the food was good!! Recommend this to anyone that’s hungry! A+ the decor is a little old but the food make up for that!!

My recent visit to Blackbeards has improved greatly and I enjoyed both the service and my meal. One of the cashiers at the front of house has learned my nickname Tammy, which I truly appreciate personalized touches during interactions. Ive patronize this establishment several times, since I had a disheartening experience and Ive been quite pleased with both food service and customer service. Keep up the good work and continue showing excellence to your consumers, despite having an established clientele.
Man, the fish was outstanding! I dined with my younger son...he only eats talapia bc its boneless...realized what he had been missing all this time. The meal was quite pricey but my Birthday discount helped. And....can you believe the size of the cheesecake for just $3.99? I will put $20 aside for a meal like this through the week. Ordered smoked chicken around 4pm on a Saturday. Waitress comes back and says there out of smoked chicken right now, will take about 20-30 minutes before it will be ready. Service was slow, did not bring complete order to table, had to flag down another waitress twice. Ordered pork sandwich and asked for “FINELY”chopped meat on garlic bread, came to table on Texas Toast, no garlic and definitely NOT FINELY chopped.
Ordered the trout. And it was horrible. It had a strong fish smell and taste and was dry. The fries and hush puppies were cold. The cheese grits was ok. Will not be going back again, $52.00 wasted.
Great food, great service! This place is one of the best restaurant in Albany Ga for southern style food. BBQ, Fish and Seafood is prepared very well at a very reasonable price. This place is a Must try for anyone visiting or passing thru Albany Ga.

It’s sad I had to give this review a “one star” review. By the far the worst food I have ever had. 3 servers could not even tell our group what sauces were on our table. Don’t go, turn around, and go to McDonalds. Or you could always visit the Hilton Garden Inn and come see Ann the best person in all of Albany, Georgia.

We were at a memorial service for one of the best and most loved servers here at Blackbeards. The staff was very accommodating for us. For a group of 40 plus people, they were able to take drink orders, serve beverages, take orders, serve meals, make sure everyone was taken care of, rendered bills and take up money in a very good and orderly manner without interfering with the service. Donna would have been very proud of her co-workers ❤️😊
Stick with the seafood, I ordered country fried steak and gravy, worst I have ever had, frozen minced meat, I have always had great food here but not this time, its really changed for the worst over the past few years.

Came here after a recommendation from a professor. The food was absolutely amazing. All of us at the table has some type of seafood and it was better than most Ive had right on the beach. We are from out of town but said if we are ever near by again that we will stop by without hesitation. Highly recommended.
Fantastic. I got pork BBQ and brisket and it was so delicious I didnt want to stop eating. The baked beans were definitely a great choice of side as well.

Poor management and a arrogant management. Can not simply accept responsibility for screwing up so you throw the server under the bus trying to make it their fault, that it was an hour after ordering before we are informed you are out of what we ordered. Bad inventory management and no customer service skills and seems as if they do not care. Was first and last time there. They could not pay me to go back again.
My salad was great. Food is a on the expensive side. Our waitress didnt seem too happy and/or just didnt have a personality. The corn definitely tasted like it came out of a can.
The family came down from Warner Robins area so there was 9 of us. We went on a Saturday night about 5:30 and had a 20 minute wait. Our servers name was Jordan and she did a really good job, the food was enjoyed by all of us.
Long waiting period, long wait for service, ran out of food (according to waitress) before all of order was completed. Server was very friendly however cashier never even bothered to look up and show friendliness . When food arrivef, it was good.
4 1/2* catfish was a little bit wet, not as crisp as I personally looked: but I am ABSOLUTELY going back. I need to try their renowned BBQ. Service was supurb, Dash was awesome.
I always like to visit Blackbeards when traveling to Albany. They are constantly a great place to eat and have generous side portions that will leave you stuffed or asking for a to go box. Always a wait so plan ahead. First time I have been there in a while and its still awesome food. Unfortunately, the mens rest room needs a make over, it was pretty bad. 🤭

2021-11-11The food was sub par. Didnt even care to finish my meal (country fried steak) because it was rubbery and tasted like it was a frozen patty that they heated in the microwave. Went we two other people. One got chopped pork (he said it was good) and the other got a smoked turkey sandwich that was obviously not smoked and didnt taste good enough to finish or take home either. None of the side were anything to write home about. While our waitress tried hard to be helpful and did an OK job. I know it wasnt her fault but we were seated next to a mother with 2 sons that were super loud and distracting and actually broke their booth while we were seated. The mother did nothing, just sat there and watched a video on her phone on FULL BLAST VOLUME! Not a great experience...we will NOT be back.P.S. they are selling deep fried turkeys right now for $60 each! I wouldnt pay $10 because it would probably ruin our Thanksgiving dinner.

I was a little worried a few months ago, but now theyre seemingly getting back to where they used to be in the quality of the food. Danielle was awesome, didnt have to wait. Great.

2021-08-07Ordered my ribeye medium rare and it came out cold and raw in the center. Sat there forever waiting for the waitress to return. They re-fired it to medium well which made it super chewy and not worth the $27.00. Her T-bone on the other hand was well seasoned but a bit over cooked mine had no seasoning at all. The mac & cheese was the best thing I received. Our waitress was MIA for most of our meal, I doubt Ill be returning.

2022-07-111st time here. Wife had oyster po boy w/side of popcorn shrimp +2sides, I had crab stuffed flounder +2 sides. We had way more than we could eat and it was really good food. Could tell very well prepared, really excellent dinner. Staff patient with us slowpokes. Will be back next week. Mmmmmmm👍

2022-04-06Blackbeards is NO where near how it was in the days on Radium Springs. The fish was delicious and was GREAT even hours later. The fish now tastes as if it was fried too long. They still have a crowd and I will always get us dinners but not as often.
