Blick Art Materials in other cities:
Blick is my go to for art supplies in ATL. Called around to several shops looking for foam board and no one had it in the size I needed. Although Blick didnt have have the size I needed (out of stock) they helped me cut the larger size down to what I needed, in store. If you call them, make sure youre talking to the actual store, not the customer support line. I spent 5 min on the phone with someone only to be told she wasnt actually in that location and couldnt verify they had what I needed in stock. She gave me the number for the actual store and they verified they had it on hand in one minute. Great selection, knowledgeable staff, and easy to get to if you dont mind walking a few blocks to get to MARTA.
Super helpful staff for any questions you could have. The inventory is also really impressive too! Word to the wise: only public parking nearby is parallel on the street or in a garage so maybe avoid during the busier afternoon hours. I was there before noon and it was pretty easy.
Ive be going to this store for supplies since I started attending GSU. They have been nothing but helpful, over the phone, in person, shipping items to me, and curbside pickup. Its all been easy, and if I had a single issue I knew I could count on calling and getting it resolved quickly. They have great sales, and I usually always find something useful in the clearance corner. They also offer a student discount card which is great! 10/10 would reccomend, I wish I knew some of the helpful staffs name so I could put them here.I will say the only thing to look out for at blick is if youve ordered a class list or a large order, double check and make sure you have everything! Sometimes they forget a piece of paper or somn small, but like i said earlier, Ive never had an issue getting that resolved!
Blick Art Materials is the only art supply store in Midtown Atlanta.. they carry a healthy selection of all major art pursuits and art supplies, both beginner and professional... Art students get special discounts plus members get price matching with online store prices.. the website also holds live inventory so you can check something before going to the store.. the staff are friendly and always happy to help.. Blick is a great place to pick up a new hobby and even displays art from local artists
Every time I come here the workers are quite friendly and helpful! They have a great selection of decent art supplies to professional grade. Many art supplies I cant find in others stores such as specific sketchbooks, pens, and fine arts material I can find here. The only downside is that whenever I shop for my art classes there is often some things that I need that are out of stock. Great staff!
I cant stress how much I love this store. They are smaller than a Micheals or Hobby Lobby, but still have an amazing variety of drawing and painting supplies. I was shocked at how cheap the prices were on my initial trip, where has this place been my whole life?! I was expecting higher prices with it being in the city and the area, much much much cheaper than any other art store I have ever been in. My new favorite.
Excellent customer service!I went for the first time last night and I was warmly welcomed by the staff. It was a pleasant surprise that they were all so kind even though it was a little late in the evening. I was quickly guided to the specific item I was looking for and they had EXACTLY what I needed. The store was clean, organized, and fairly easy to navigate. From what I saw, they seem to be well stocked with a variety of supplies. With the help of staff, I was in and out in minutes. I highly recommend this place to students and teachers because the rewards card gives you discounts on items that arent on sale ;)
The parking situation is terrible because there are literally no options that do not involve the risk of having your vehicle booted. The store however, is well stocked with a generous selection of quality artist products. With a specialty store like this, you cant always shop online.
Ive been a Blick customer for some years now, mainly in the New York area. The customer service and friendly helpfulness that I received at this location yesterday was beyond memorable and the best Blick shopping experience that I have ever had! It makes me want to return to this store. All of the sales associates were attentive and helpful. Thank you for a great shopping experience! I look forward to returning for my future art supply needs.
Manager at the register (Declan?) was very helpful finding what I was looking for without being pushy, hovering, or condescending. Made me much more comfortable since Im not a professional artist! 100% mask compliance in the store. Only drawbacks for me: parking is challenging-- only paid street parking available, but I guess thats to be expected in Midtown. Also I found some of the price tags confusing. Might be because Im not used to it but like for brushes, theyre all printed on a sheet with like a chart in kinda small print instead of next to the brush itself. The price tags on the shelves are on white stickers so dont stand out. I figured it out eventually but I think it could be more user friendly.
Fair amount of variety and a decent selection for your average art school student. Professional artists will notice a significant lack of products and services but from a business standpoint its reasonable as Atlantas not known as an artistic hotspot. Staff is very attentive, to a fault. For the casual artist and student it will be sufficient, however, as a well fed artist, Ill definitely need to order online out of state to get what I need for my current commissions.
Great local selection of all you need in art supplies! Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable, I needed some help picking paints, brushes, and canvases in order to get into acrylic painting, and they were really helpful with everything I needed. Will be going back in the future for all my art related needs
Great first time there! I needed charcoal pencils (separately instead of a set) which they had a good variety of. They even have a paper out so you can test them (and the colored and graphite pencils they have). The cashier was super nice and helpful in finding things right away.Blick also has a good membership which is free, and if youre a student, then its even better!Cant wait to come again to browse!
This store is a quality art store! The location has a wide range of supplies, from cheaper mediums to higher priced, higher quality tools. There are good discounts when buying higher quantities of materials. The location is on the smaller side, however, and therefore is not able to boast an inventory as large as larger chains such as Michaels. The location also checks bags at the counter.
This was my first time at Blick. The service was great and I loved that the location has a Starbucks right across the street. I work mostly with acrylics, but going through that store inspired me to try some new techniques and mediums. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Ill definitely be going back.
I wanted something to occupy my time during quarantine but didn’t know where to start! I went into Blick and was immediately greeted by Chloe, she was super easy to talk to and gave me some amazing options to choose from. I decided to give a paint by numbers a go at her suggestion and I love it!! I’ll definitely be back to see Chloe for my next artsy adventure!
We buy most of our supplies from Blick. They have great specials and a huge variety of art supplies. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Theres fixtures for sale in the back of the store. Omg, great deals on canvas, and brushes. We were just there and they had two areas when you can try out products like paints and pens. Really cool. And a great place to see art demos. We love this place.
Good place to get some things especially if youre on their coupon list and can buy them on sale. I did like it better when it was Utrecht- had some more interesting choices. And dont even think youre going to get any higher quality brushes here, youre going to have to order those online. The folks who work here are helpful and nice.
I was passing through Atlanta today and stopped by to pick up a few new paint brushes. They had a nice selection of fibers and all of your standard sizes and types. The the employee I met when walking in the door was very helpful. He was an oil painter himself and offered recommendations based on what he had used and what I needed my brushes for. We brought our dog in and they had a treat for her. I also have my children who were a little rambunctious after a long drive and they still very nice, which I really appreciated. Their rewards program is free and I saved anout 30% using it. It was a great stop.
Okay prices, I guess. Just be careful with your mask because employees are not scared to be rude and invade your personal space to whine about irrelevant policies if you let your mask slip while isolated from others. So discomforting Ill just be buying off Amazon now.
Really decent art supply store in Midtown. Well stocked journal selection, hence the reason I needed to visit, because I was looking for Fabriano Eco Qua journals, which they had. But they also had a good selection of paint. The salesperson (Monica...???) was extremely helpful, personable and friendly. She offered excellent customer service.
I brought my great grand-daughter here for the first time; she is an exceptional artist and came with a wish list for Christmas. The store was well supplied with ample selection; the wish list was fulfilled and we were done in 30 minutes. I used to bring her Mother here when the store was Utrecht; it was a nice visit down memory lane. I highly recommend Blicks.
Staff was very helpful in answered all of my questions. They were attentive and very helpful throughout my shopping trip. During the check out they made sure I had everything I need it and allow me to go back for any items I had missed as well as making sure I had everything I needed in regards to using my student discount.
Great staff and selection here! When I went they had a really cool/varied sale section at the front with bits of stationery and the like. The staff was very friendly. Art stores tend to be on the more expensive side, but I was actually surprised with how reasonable my purchases ended up being.
I was looking for a particular pen for my wifes birthday and needed some help. The guy at the register walked me right over to what I was looking for and very competently answered a couple of questions I had. This store is geared mostly toward drawing and painting, but there are also supplies for sculptors, modelers, and other creatives. Its a great place to just browse and wake up your internal muse.
The staff is great and the selection is good for basic art needs. However parking really sucks. Its not the stores fault but have change to pay a couple dollars for metered parking and if lucky you will get one of about four metered spaces on the side of the store. If not expect a city block walk to the store.
Staff is helpful, store is clean, and Blick price matches with their online prices if you get a rewards card. Only bad thing about the store is that it hurts my wallet by being so close to me... And the prices are so good I want to buy everything. This is not like Michaels or AC Moore, it is an art store not a craft store.
I love this store. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, but not persistent if you just want to browse. They carry pretty much any art supplies you could ever want. Im not sure if they stock every single color of Copic, Prismacolour, and Blick marker that exists, and they are the only place Ive found that does so in store. They have incredible prices (that have a discounted price when you buy 6 or more Copics. NO ONE discounts those) and good sales on top of that.Im lucky I live almost an hour from this store or I would never have any money!
The store is great and the employees are helpful. Beware of parking, though-- it seems like theres a parking lot across the street for it , but this is for certain businesses (its not really made clear). They will boot your car and charge you a $75 fee in cash to take it off, so be sure to find parking somewhere down the street or take Marta. They were obviously waiting to boot the car because I was in and out very quickly. I cant blame the store for the bad location, because the people who work there did make an effort to be welcoming and accommodating. But I think a lot of people make the mistake of parking, so that kind of sucks that its not more clear.
Wow, for a small urban shop, Blick Art has virtually everything: markers, paints, canvases, brushes, foam core, Moleskine journals, poster board -- you name it. The staff is always friendly and very willing to help you find what youre looking for on the well-stocked (albeit a bit crowded) shelves. Theres a rewards program for frequent buyers, so dont hesitate to sign up if youre going to be a regular (which you should be, if you live in Midtown and need art supplies). Recommended.
Made a quick stop to buy a refill for my lead holder. Picked up a few other items while i was there. I always walk up and down almost every aisle, even if the products are for a type of art for which I have no skill. The experience just makes feel feel inspired. I wanted to go home and cut up some fabric so badly that I seriously considered blowing off the rest of my workday. My only complaint, they were out of grid journals. Those are my absolute favorite. Ill be back again soon.
I live close enough to walk so parking isnt an issue personally however, the lot which is literally across the street beside the Starbucks is fairly priced and they give you a ticket for confirmation of payment MEANING if they do boot you all you have to do is prove you paid and they remove it!The store is clean and nice. The people are VERY helpful for someone looking to get into art, and from what I can tell the prices are decent too. I will be coming back for sure!
The location is great for in town artists, but the size of the place limits what is in stock compared to the location in Roswell. The staff are all knowledgeable and helpful. Like everything in the area, access to parking is a pain. They do check stock and hold stuff that you find on their website.
Ive always liked Blick. I walked into this location today, just poking around.. And I found some black nylon wall/holes plugs that I wanted, dirt cheap too! I removed a front license plate from my car, and the drilled holes in the bumper look terrible. Online kits were $15-25. with shipping! I got them here for $.25 each! You just never know what youll find in well stocked arts and crafts stores like Blick!
Good customer service. The workers were very helpful and sweet as we were browsing around! Lots of variety in product too. This Blick will have pretty much any art supply you’ll need.P.S. I am a local Orlando artist. If you would like to check me out, I’m on Spotify, Apple, Soundcloud, etc. as “hunterdrinkswater.” Thanks for reading my review! God bless you!
This store is within a reasonably quick bike trip from the Midtown MARTA station (a bike rack is conveniently right in front of the store), in a pretty lively part of town, even around closing time. This store seems to attract both SCAD and Tech students due to the proximity of both campuses.I was informed by another source that this store does carry Rhodia notebooks. They do carry a good selection of Rhodia products, and are competitively priced. They do have a price matching scheme for the few items that may be slightly overpriced, but I did not feel like going through the process.
Everyone there is so nice and helpful. Of course the only issue is parking. 7th street has 15 minute parking if you can find a free space. If you purchase something large, the staff is ALWAYS willing to help you get it in your car to limit the Atlanta traffic frustration.
Before i left my house i wanted to check the time they closed, the website said 8 pm, After walking 14 blocks, i make it to the store at 5:30pm, to locked doors and a posted makeshift sign saying due to inclement weather we will be closing at 5 pm. There was no inclement weather, no snow, no ice, not a cloud in the sky, there was no reason to close early. Other than laziness on a Saturday.. the smug cashier just glanced me a sorry about your luck look and walked away. I will never shop at this store again. No wonder so many people shoplift there.
Ive said it before, art stores in the perimeter have horrible parking. The designated parking for this location is in a lot that has an entrance but no exit (blocked by construction). If theres a popular show at the Fox, you could be blocked in for hours. Bring a snack.
Service still execellent. Went in there this morning and was shocked by really high prices. Forced me to pull sheets from discarded tablets and other stuff. Sad if something isnt done prices and no free parking will close this location. Online and other stores here I come.

2022-04-22Very organized and neat art supplier. The amount of art supplies, colors, utensils at this store is impressive. If you are looking for a specific pie e of art equipment this is probably where you will be able to find it. The staff was very friendly and informative.

2021-07-03Jonah was super helpful yesterday with getting me the items I needed. He taught me about textures and best practices. I even got a complete kit with all the items I need to be successful with my work. AND I saved $88 due to their price matching software they use to ensure we aren’t over charged in the store.

2022-05-24If you want to take your sweet time browsing, pay for more than one hour of parking. Aisles are labeled but items are still spread across end-caps, and there’s simply a lot to see. Solid discounts and employees are helpful without being standoffish or pushy. They will genuinely help if you’re looking for a budget option or have questions.

2021-10-26I’ve been shopping here since I was in college, when it was called Utrecht. Now that I’m a working professional I still go here. This is the best place for painters and illustrators to find a variety of materials at great values without shopping online. They get a lot of high demand products that are hard to find. They let you test a lot of the pens and the staff is superb!!!

2022-07-28I went in to buy a gift card. I’d never been before. This place will definitely stir the creative spirit! They had problem ringing up the gift card, I don’t think they sell a lot of gift cards, but they were very friendly and eventually got it to work. I look forward to checking them out when I have some downtime….

2022-08-10Great store in the middle of Atlanta but that also means parking isnt fun. I suggest parking in the garage across the street and walking over. Sadly they do not validate for this so grab something from the plaza connected to the garage to get validated. Hope this helps!
