Blind Pig Tavern in other cities:
Both the food and the service were top notch. It didnt take long to get a seat and I was greeted by a very nice server. I have the jerk chicken wings with a side of their hot sauce and Ranch that is homemade. I would be willing to bet anybody these chicken wings are better than any commercial restaurant Ive ever been to.
It was ok. Requested cheddar and monterrey cheese on my nachos instead of queso which had Jalapeños mixed I to it, but, they couldnt pull it off so got a blt which was good but the bacon was a little skinny compared to the size of the bread. (Really had to hunt for it) however, the waitress was fast, friendly and professional. Really wish they would change up the music and what was on the television. Hip hop only does so much for the appetite and conversation. BBQ? Only pork?? Great little restaurant, just wish they would work toward what the customer wanted.
I asked the server for the signature meal and she suggested some items. My sandwich chicken was very good. Too much filler on the sub roll though. Onions, tomatoes and lettuce. I ordered the cole slaw as well. The slaw had absolutely no flavor. Id suggest adding some spices. The service was really good and our server was very sweet.
Great pub food. Try the sweet potato tater tots! They are supposed to be known for their burgers. I got the Sunday Brunch. It had some great bacon on it and a fried egg. I assumed the egg would be overeasy, but the center was fully cooked. It was a good burger, though. They also have a decent beer selection.
The concierge at the UGA Hotel recommended The Blind Pig as a student favorite for wings. It delivered. The wings were exactly what I like: Big, hot, and buffalo. I ordered 10 and they very quickly showed up. I ordered medium buffalo. The menu suggested they tend to be on the spicy side, and they were. Large sized as well. Crispy, but not over crispy, perfectly cooked. They did not appear to have been frozen. I always go bleu cheese on the side. Theirs was nice and creamy with some chunks, perfect for dipping. 10/10 on the wings. Super friendly staff, exceptional beer selection (both draft and bottle/can). Great atmosphere with plenty of tvs to watch the game.
They have good food. I’ll give them that. That’s why I keep coming here. But their service is always so terrible. Today when I went I sat at the bar waiting for a to go order. It took us like 10 minutes before we were “noticed.” And be noticed I mean the waitress came up to the guy next to us and asked for his order (we were at the bar first). She was coughing the whole time btw. Not a light cough but a deeply throaty cough and not even into her elbow. She coughed into her hand (when she even bothered to cover it at all). Owners/managers should look into this. She was working at 5:40 pm on a Thursday and she has reddish brown hair. We are in the middle of a pandemic and you don’t require employees to wear masks. I mean to each their own but if someone is coughing send them home or at least tell them to wear a mask. Anyways we were never noticed by the waitress. I had to flag her down. She wasn’t busy or anything. She was just standing there watching the TV.
Food was great. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Service left a little bit to be desired. My drink was empty longer than it was full and the fries were overly salty for my taste but hands down the best Philly Chessesteak I have had in a very long time.Next time I am in Athens, we will most likely stop back by.
Stopped by because they had good reviews and an inviting atmosphere. Menu displayed out front and lots of TVs displayed inside. Greeted at the door to be seated. Spacious and comforting. We were served by Abigail. Did a great job catering to our needs and making sure we were content!I had the BBQ Plate which came with a good helping of BBQ pork, (2) pieces of Texas toast, a cup of Brunswick Stew and coleslaw and (1) pickle - didnt get the coleslaw or pickle because dont like the textures. A glass of water w/lemon and a sweet tea! Both the sizes if the drinks (32oz) were more than I was expecting and though I had planned to have more food - I was stuffed. A definite stop for solo or groups. Had an extensive list of beer and liquor.Found their rules on the back of the menu to be on point. Make sure to buy the team a pitcher of beer on your way out!Perfectly priced! They have an app if you want to pay virtually as well!
I for a long time had not had a good burger place I am proud to say that the Blind Pig Tavern has offered me a most exceptional meal and it has become my new favorite burger place to go the order did not take long the wait time was short is very fast paced restaurant theres not a long long wait at the entrance seating with quick and overall I had a very good experience there
Always a pleasure going to blind pig. The website did say they closed at 10pm so when we got there at 9pm we were surprised to hear that they were closing at 9pm. As we started thinking of other places to go, the waiter told us to come sit down and we got to eat. When it actually hit 9pm they ended up locking g the doors so Noone else would go in but food was great and the alcohol was a little off but I got either the top or bottom of the barrel for the Guinness stout.
I ordered a CHICKEN quesadilla that I had delivered to my job. After all the tips, fees, and charges it came out to nearly thirty dollars. Thats not the issue though. The issue was, there was no CHICKEN on the CHICKEN quesadilla! If I am paying this much for a CHICKEN quesadilla I expect it to be what I ordered. This is like the second time Blind Pig has gotten my order WRONG! How do you not add chicken to a chicken quesadilla?
Lovely and friendly staff. Our waitress was probably the prettiest Ive ever seen in my Athens eating experiences and she was very kind, thumbs up for Claire! The food was pretty average, the BBQ plate was enough to fill you but kind of light on the actual BBQ sauce. The coleslaw had more mayo than I would prefer but it wasnt that super fine chopped stuff, so thats a plus. A little spice on it.made it much better. The atmosphere was great! Loved the music selection playing. Might try it again.
Every drink we ordered tasted like a washed down margarita. Asked for a grateful dead and she added coke in it. Im allergic to caffeine, so that could have went real bad. Nobody in my party was satisfied with their food. Im convinced since its downtown the ppl that go there are intoxicated or high. So everything tastes good to them anyways. Ill stick to the Eastside for the drinks and Westside for the food.
Great meal. I had the fat Matt and tots. It hit the spot. Also some of the most beautiful nachos I’ve gazed upon. However, they are not complying with social distancing standards and are endangering our community. For that I give 3 stars. I get that y’all are busy as heck but step it up and change so that your customers won’t kill their grandparents.
Always great eats and great service here. This visit, the chicken tenders were a bit oily, but I will not deduct from 5 stars for that reason since every other visit has been perfect. Highly recommend coming here for the bbq, or anything really. We all miss the old location with the outdoor seating, but moving within walking distance of downtown was a smart move, and quality definitely did not suffer in the move. Keep up the great work guys!
Definitely a place to go if you are craving bar food. Service was great, we got a call from our babysitter just after we ordered and had to get our order to go. Our server was very accommodating and rushed our food and our bill. She also canceled our beer order without charging us. Even though we had to take our food on the run, we enjoyed both of our meals.
We visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon and the staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic but the cocktails were the real star of the show. I had the BLT and my lady had the Electric Lemonade. They were both deceptively strong and tasted great. I will most definitely be visiting again when Im back in Athens.
Great service! Beautiful restaurant. Good location. Down side food on the salty side and Im a person who loves salt. Just tell your waitress to have your food made with light salt. This was my first time here so I didnt know how they seasoned. The taste of the food was delicious. Also parking can be tricky only meter parking near by $1.25 per hour.
Jett! Fantastic waitress and excellent service! Hope yall get her as your waitress as well. We enjoyed the beer selection and order a couple of pitchers. We tried the honey blackened wings and the mild winds. Honey Blackened wings were tasty. Ordered a Greek salad but had blackened chicken on it. Really great! Others had the fried green tomato sandwhich and burger. All was enjoyed. Will be back again. Great location also.
This is always my go-to place for anytime I’m wanting easy, great tasting food. The food is always great, and the service is typically great as well. The food is always hot and fresh, and I always have extra to take home with me. I recommend Blind Pig to anyone looks for a good sports bar type meal.
Food was good, but waitress seemed to forget about taking our order. Granted, we had a large party and we were waiting for everyone to arrive, but even after everyone came, we waited a long time (15-20 minutes) just to place our order. Also, my water had black flakes of something in the bottom of the glass. The waitress gladly exchanged it, but that is not what you want to see when you go out to eat.
The service was AMAZING and the food was really good! My server (Kat) was super friendly and was always anticipating my needs. The food came out amazingly quick and although it was game day and the restaurant was extremely crowded, the , staff did an excellent job getting people seated quickly! I think Ive found a new face restaurant in Bulldog Country!
We were displaced due to Hurricane Irma, we asked some locals of a place to eat and have drinks and was recommended to come here. We were not disappointed. We had the Piggy Melt which was really delicious and the local beers on tap were great, not to mention the full liquor pours. Hey, we just evacuated a hurricane, drinks were definitely needed. The many TVs tuned into football really pleased my boyfriend as well. Great recommendation and the staff was friendly and quick with service.Thank you Athens, for your AMAZING hospitality and wonderful city. A trip never to be forgotten!Kindest Regards,Becca and Steve
One of the best places to go in downtown Athens. Its close to the campus and both students and white-collar and blue-collar people intermingle at this unique establishment. Im not a fan of fried foods but theyre fried mushrooms are to crave four. Their hamburgers and fish tacos are good along with all their other Fair. Ask for Clint at the bar hes been there a long time and hes one of the best. Dont get me wrong everyone that works here is good. The owners friendly and there are two of them. Enjoy
My family and I went yesterday while in town visiting for a softball game. The service was prompt. Food came out very quickly and was prepared correctly. We were not having drinks on this trip, but looked like a fun place to hang out. Its exactly what youd expect and want from a college town tavern.
Many stars for the fantastic food. Blind Pig, any location, has a huge and excellent menu. Ive never ordered anything here that Ive regretted. Well, except for the nachos with hot peppers, but I really should have known better. One word of advice for eating at Blind Pig - everything here is spicier than youd expect. The medium wings are like hot wings are everywhere else. The hot wings are nuclear. Same goes for any other spicy dish on the menu so make sure to order one hotness level down from what youd normally expect and itll be fine. This location gets -1 though because its interior is really cold and hard. Its unfortunately kind of unpleasant to be here for a long period of time. Say if you want to chill with a pitcher of beer and nachos with friends. The hard benches kill me after about 30 minutes.
I went two nights. The first night I got a large chicken quesadilla with ranch. The quesadilla was super bland. It had absolutely zero flavor to it. And the ranch was extra thick. Seems like they took away some of the ranch and added something else to it. I went back the next night because I heard that they had good wings. I ordered 10 honey BBQ wings to go. Yall. They had no taste either. I ended up throwing it away. It came with celery which I absolutely love; HOWEVER, something seemed off about the celery as well. Total waste of money if you asked me.
The veggie basket is a great starter while waiting on wings, though I needed an extra dip. I got the hot wings with minced garlic and they were excellent. They were a little on the crispy side. The atmosphere is typical college crowd and the music was so loud I could barely hear from across the table.
Nice place in downtown Athens to eat and grab a drink at. A pretty decent selection of food items. I kind of thought they would have more BBQ-related items, seeing as their name has Pig in it. Good for dining and drinking, and I think they have live entertainment from time to time. They dont mess around when it comes to obnoxious or rude customers as well, LOL!
Terrible. Bad service. Nasty drink (some orange creamsicle something). Teriyaki wings taste like soy sauce and spicy not like sweet teriyaki. Fried pickles were way too salty. I am nauseas after eating there. I will do another review or revise this one if I end up sick from the little I did eat. This place was also nasty. Bathroom was so gross and a changing table in the stall in the women’s room blocks a stall door by at least 2/3.
If you are going to serve mediocre food that could come from any frozen food aisle, the least you could do is have better service. I used to be a server and it would never cross my mind to ignore a customer who says they are cold, never turn a fan off (not sure why it is on when it is 50 degrees outside) or move them. I guess me wearing my coat while eating wasnt a sign I was uncomfortable. I am never going back. Ever!
I cant begin to describe what is amazing about this place because the answer is EVERYTHING!!!! I havent ever had a bad thing on the menu and have been visiting very frequently for the past 5 years. Love the staff and owner. They Andre always looking for opportunities to improve, but its hard for me to put a finger on anything. Even had my wedding reception here! A definite Athens must! (Not to mention the convenient location to many downtown hotels and campus!)
Was a busy place by the time I left. Earlier the service at the bar seemed a bit hit and miss despite it not being busy at all. At one point I was the only person at the bar and still didnt get served for several minutes. On the other hand the burger was pretty good..
We really enjoy going to this Blind Pig Tavern. If you are looking for a great wing and ever place downtown Athens, Blind Pig is a great place to come! The atmosphere is great, its not located in the busiest parts, so parking is a little bit easier to find, and the wings are juicy! They even have some live music some Saturday nights if you are into that. I would definitely recommend this place!
If you’re looking for some good American food, you’ll definitely enjoy Blind Pig!I love the selection of burgers, and I can’t get away from The Noinja-licious burger! My only complaint would be the size of the menu. They make everything from hot dogs to BBQ which makes the food suffer, but it’s not bad at all.
Enjoy going there for Geeks Who Drink Trivia. BPig DT has (in my opinion) the best trivia in this town. You dont walk away feeling like a total idiot when you have a college education. The food is always good and consistent. The service is just okay. It depends on who you get. Erin (usually behind the bar) is outstanding, but one of the other waitresses was kinda rude. May have just been a bad night for her. Recommended if youre not counting calories!
Food is always wonderful and the staff always have positive attitude and smile me and my wife absolutely love going there and will continue to do so you want a great place to eat and have fun at the same time the Blind Pig Tavern is definitely the place to be thanks.
They consistently close before advertised, even when calling in advance. I completely understand needing to close early in the summer, but when I call in advance and ask to for a reservation I expect it to be available. Three weeks in a row theyve been closed when I placed a reservation when they have my phone number and I say Ill come as soon as they call, but they dont.
We have decided that Blind Pig is our Local, as it used to be when it was on Williams street, so there is a bit of grade inflation at work here. Great for the communal ritual of sports-watching. Also great when it is not crowded -- the feng shui is really not bad. I recommend the hot fingers plate, especially since if you can handle hot stuff, you can tell the server you want a plate of Ninja Fingers, which has delightful unintended connotations. They have a lot of beers on tap, currently and wonderfully among them Leinenkugels Grapefruit Shandy, which is both delicious and actually hydrates you. Service is quite competent, which puts it head and shoulders over many Athens establishments.

2022-03-30Took over 30 min to get a table, which is understandable, but there isnt anywhere to wait except on the sidewalk. Once we were finally seated, it was another 20 min before anyone even asked us what we wanted to drink. Its a decent place to go and have some drinks at the bar and eat if youve got hours to spend, but if your trying to get dinner with the family, this is not the place.

2022-05-06We each ordered a Caesar salad. His with grilled fish. It came out and they fish was a generous portion. However we didnt get a Caesar salad we got a pile of mixed greens with soggy croutons! The dressing came out on the side. Either do it right or take it off the menu. Pure disappointment. Then 3/4s of my way through may salad a hair!!! Yuck. The server offered to take it off the check but fair is fair. I ate most of it so I declined. We wouldnt go back.

2022-03-26Zoe our waitress was great however if this peanut butter pie isnt great when I get home then she will be the only good thing about my dinner tonight. Seemed like we waited forever for our food. I get that it is friday night but there should be more staff on busy nights. Fried pickles were so fried the pickles were chewy and hard. I ordered the quesadilla and the chicken was dry... not the worst experience but it certainly wasnt the best. Maybe well try again another time.

2022-05-30While in Athens we stop here on Memorial Day to have BBQ, welp it ready wasnt a bbq shake. We ordered Wings, chicken fingers, nachos, quesadilla, fried mushrooms, onion rings, chesses dip and salas. Everyone end up leveling half of the food on the table. No flavor (bland) & dry. Giving 2🌟 only because my margarita was good and the staff was nice.

2020-03-01Good vibes! Dropped by with a party of 8 on Saturday at 7:00 and we were sat right away. Four adults, two teens, two grandparents. Our server was super sweet, there was a good variety of pub food so everyone found something they liked and there was a wide variety of liquor and creative cocktails, my favorite! Oh, and the cocktails are served in pint glasses so theres plenty to enjoy.I got the yianni burger (added grilled onions)and it was awesome. The feta cheese sauce was amazing - Id put that stuff on everything. The fries and tater tots were just perfect and my husbands bacon and pimento burger was yummy too.The server told me other than burgers, the barbecue, fish tacos and loaded nachos also get rave reviews. If you like orange creamsicles dont miss the Orange Push Up Pop cocktail - it tastes just like one! For a sweet twist on a classic, the Buffalo Bow Tie is bourbon, ginger ale and peach schnapps.Blind Pig is an Athens classic. Well be back!
