The Tacos 🌮 here are Absolutely Delicious! 😋 The Twisted Beef Brisket are My Favorite! Also the Southwestern Egg Rolls are Great! The only Negative is that they are a little too pricey for my taste! I spent $24 for Two Tacos & an order of the Egg rolls! Thats a bit much! 😳
This place is a vibe-sore on the EAV Community. The place is super low-vibrational, serving up subpar food and drinks over hyper jacked beats played at a level that requires you to scream to be heard. They herd far too many people in there and it makes for a horrible experience. I’m not sure exactly what there is to enjoy here, besides sucking on likely COVID-19 infested hookah pipes and sharing with strangers. A plastic tip seems really inadequate.I drove past Blu Cantina for years…and I should have kept going this time. I will step on the gas and pass it by every time!
I hosted a Happy Hour at Blu Cantina for Super Bowl Weekend. Prior, I visited the other location in Atlanta and I think this one is so much better. The food was delicious and the cocktails were made well. Parking in the area overall can be a challenge sometimes. The staff overall was attentive and pleasant. Definitely a place to visit and I suggest the steak fajitas! Tasty!
The service is not great, this is not really a restaurant, its a club with food and without a dance floor, why play music at ear damaging volumes and not have a dance floor? They have the slowest most lackadaisical servers in the industry, I dont know if any of these servers have ever worked in a restaurant before. Just order delivery and hope for the best because they never answer the phone, I tried to order pickup directly from the restaurant and they no one would pick up, I was trying to give them my money so they dont have to pay the delivery services but I suppose its not what theyre trying to do. There is no such thing as a dine in experience because it is impossible to have a conversation. The food is tasty and good portions but I dont have the patience to come here, especially if Im hungry.
It was my first visit. I ordered takeout and met the wonderful Tatiana and Kenya who made the experience great. We had a taco salad with steak and a variety of tacos, a dipping sampler and southwest egg rolls. The guacamole, queso, salsa and chips were excellent as were the rice and beans. I will be back!
Ordered on Door Dash. Flavors were doable. Serving sizes were tiny. $16 for snack size tacos. The mango salsa has very little mango. I should have just made my own tacos. Would have been 100000 times better. I have a bomb mango salsa recipe if they’re trying to add some real mango taste to their food. Or try Taqueria de Sol. Way better flavor. Much better portion sizes.Update: After my fourth order through Door Dash.Attempt 1: review aboveAttempt 2: southwest egg rolls and empanadas: goodGREATAttempt 3: Ultimate Sampler: southwest egg rolls and empanadas fusion wingsGREATAttempt 4: Ultimate Sampler: southwest egg rolls and empanadasWings were undercooked and wrong flavor (I spit it out.....sorry)The rest was goodOverall, the food quality is inconsistent. The flavors are usually good but you may get an uncooked chicken wing like I did today.
The empanada is spicy and great. The wings are amazing. But that is the best we saw. The wings and empanadas came out and we had eaten them before the pitcher of margaritas showed up. The service is painfully slow. Napkins and silverware had to be retrieved by a friend at my table. We noticed other tables also lacked silverware and they had food on the table. The remodel looks nice. Sad to see TVs were added. We go out to get away from them. The music is so loud it makes conversation hard. Our pitcher of margaritas came with plastic glasses. We were not impressed with our first visit. We did discuss getting wings to go in the future. We will give it one more try.
SHADY SERVERS. Had dinner with three other friends and the server added gratuity without telling us (even though the menu states they add gratuity for parties of 5 or more). They dont give you printed receipts, so she just told me the final amount I owed and asked for my credit card. It wasnt clear tip was added, so when I did the math in my head and asked her if she added gratuity, the server said yep and walked away. After I already tipped additional. SHADY.
Yawn. Keep it moving. I came here on the count that I drove by the location a few months ago and the place was still open. I figured there was something that they were doing right. But from what I gathered today, if its not Tuesday its not worth it. $2 non-spicy, hardly seasoned guacamole comes in a 2oz dish. Chips were light and crisp and seasoned well. $2 PBR, what else do you need to know about that? $2 chicken tacos were Americanized with dry, barely seasoned shredded chicken on a taco Bell flour tortilla. $2 Empanada tasted like fried oil. $5 Patron Margarita was boring and they dont offer salt on the rim. Not a horrible place to eat but also not worth being a regular here.
Nice spot with friendly staff but ultimately not as good as I’d hoped. My sister and I stopped in for dinner and drinks. The Hennessy margarita was on special for $8 and it was good.We ordered the jalapeño poppers for appetizer. They were okay but tasted like the frozen kind you buy at the grocery store.I ordered the ground turkey nachos. I was so excited that there were so many ground turkey/seafood/vegetarian options. I was disappointed. There was zero flavor to the ground turkey and I barely saw the queso. My sister ordered 2 seafood tacos. One came out as chicken but they immediately corrected it.We sat at the bar but I found that our bartender/waitress was not really attentive. There were multiple times that we had to flag her down. All in all, a very promising menu that didn’t live up to expectations. I would not return again.
First and foremost I came to the establishment and I was very happy it was back open. My friends and I was a regular here at the old location. I was definitely expecting a great outcome as usual. We get to the restaurant at 9:30 and we find a seat. It took a waitress 10 minutes to come over and greet us. We automatically said well it’s new so let’s just give them a chance. We placed our food and drink order. My boyfriend had burrito and I order wings and fries with a pitcher of margarita. We asked for a strawberry pitcher of margarita and received the House flavor. The waitress came back after a few minutes and brought back the the margarita. At about 10:00 before we got our food the manager comes over and tells us the restaurant will close at 10:30. So, now we’re upset because we have to down this pitcher and then rush to eat. Online it clearly states it closes at 12 a.m. We were confused as to why we were not notified before we ordered. So the burritos come out and they look delicious and my boyfriend even stated they were good. Well my wings come out and I asked the waitress where were the other wings because they were small. She said I asked the cook the same question. I asked for them to take the wings back and she brought them back and stated that’s all we have but we can cook more. I said No and I eventually had to order some mediocre tacos. So we definitely won’t be back. I only have them a 2 because the waitress wasn’t bad, she could only do what she was allowed to do!
This was my second time going the first time I was very impressed! These second time around our sever was horrible she kept going in the back leaving us there to wait on her and every time I asked the other server something she would say let me get your waitress 🤦🏽♀️ then we noticed roaches 🪳 crawling all over the last booth which was next to our . Once again I notify the waitress and she went to the back n came back and said all I can do is move ya ! I said no give us our checks n ya have lost a customer!!!
I visited the East Point location recently and had such a wonderful experience. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. So delicious, in fact, that I decided to make a order online today at the East Atlanta (Glenwood) location (4/30). I noticed that the delivery service I used did not allow me to choose an option for the wing sauce for the Ultimate Sampler. I called as soon as they opened to make the modifications. Whomever answered the phone really needs additional training in customer service. This employee argued with me on which delivery service I used and his overall tone was completely rude. When my order arrived, (I’m 7 mins away from the restaurant) the queso wasn’t warm, egg rolls weren’t fully cooked, and the chips were either not cooked all the way or leftover from yesterday. I definitely recommend the East Point location. I felt valued as a customer there.
My very 1st visit here has by far been the best. I have gone 2 or 3 times since. But have yet to enjoy the food as I did the very 1st time. Consistency is so important when ordering food and spending money. It is a task find consistent customer service and quality food.
Atmosphere was great. Food was great🔥🔥🔥 but the mixed drinks were weak & they offer hookah.Wanna drink?!- get shots. Liked how the manager interacted with guests and ensure theyre being satisfied. COVID update: social distancing wasnt practiced much; you basically sit wherever there is available space. Tables werent blocked off (only the freshly painted ones). Masks were worn by employees but improperly. Still a great chill spot type of place for a low key hangout.
Vibe was cool. Prices were ok, probably what you’d expect from the area. The empanadas were super disgusting. I got an appetizer from platter and enjoyed the southwest eggrolls and guacamole. But the empanadas were awful. The filling was some sort of tangy chicken mix, I’ve never seen empanadas like that before. There wasn’t a lot of seating so people have to sit super close. Wait staff was ok but very slow and 18% gratuity is automatically added.
Alright so, definitely the ambiance youre looking for in a great Hispanic food restaurant. From the artwork to the tables and chairs. The food is great the salsa is devine and full of flavors. I had the smoked chicken tacos, notes flavorful as I expected but still delicious. I also had the fried fish tacos, they were pretty flavorful and I have to say the best fish tacos Ive ever had. The server , Stephanie was very polite and helpful, I will definitely be back!
I ordered take out from this restaurant. I live close by so I wanted to try it out. When I walked inside to pick up my order it was like a different world. A world where there is no global crisis. No one had a mask on. Absolutely no one, bartender, cooks, servers. I felt very uncomfortable with this. I paid for my food but I did not eat it. There were a bunch of people at the bar not socially distant and people walking around without a mask. I had their food about a year ago and it was good but I will probably wait until after the pandemic calms down before I go again. I would hate to get covid from some togo chips and salsa.
Last time I was in this building it was still called Tomatillos. I loved the food back then and recently someone told me that its was still basically the same food and atmosphere, just a different name. Here I am at the table halfway through my food and I can say for certain this place is just as good, maybe even better. The food is so awesome. I even love their chips and salsa, and I generally dont care for chips and salsa, regardless of who or where it came from. Even the music selection is on point!!
Ordered through GrubHub. Placed an order for shredded chicken tacos (quantity 2) with chips and salsa as the side for that menu option. Ordered Veggie tacos (quantity 2) with rice and beans as the side for that menu option. Added an order of rice and beans to the taco order. What I received was one of each taco, none of the sides the tacos are supposed to come with (chips and salsa and the rice and beans) but did receive the additional order of rice and beans. Upon calling the restaurant, they picked up but no greeting and hung up. Second time calling, they hung up again with no greeting. Third time calling, the restaurant picked up with no greeting yet again until I said Hello? The young man at the restaurant named Terry then claimed that he confirmed the order with the digital GrubHub voice, that choosing an additional side therefore negated the 2 sides that tacos come with, and did not address at all the incorrect quantity of tacos to begin with. He did reassure me however that he wasnt crazy, he did confirm the order with digital lady at GrubHub. It was a relief to learn Terry wasnt crazy, although no one mentioned that possibility except Terry. I was thinking maybe simple or negligent. In any event, hard thumbs down to this restaurant. Best wishes to Terry in all his future endeavor.
I went to blu on 12/28. They were extremely short staffed. I believe they had one bar tender one waitress and a manager. I did not have to wait long for anything. Everyone was so nice, helpful and genuinely wanted to be at work. I have let everyone I know to come here. Food great music even better.
This was my first time eating here. I went into the establishment and spoke with the waitress Tatiana and I told her it was my first time here. She was very nice and polite. I placed my order the food and pricing was great. I love my drink the Georgia peach.!!I must say Tatiana was very nice and eager to help me. Thanks Tatiana!!
After 9, it goes down! The food is always good and the music is even better. The hookahs may be 30 dollars but they are worth it. Best to just split the cost with your friend or boo. The Margaritas are delicious and the waiters are even better! You do not want to miss out on this hidden gem!
This place is great, Found it completely by chance, looked at a beautiful mural on the side of the building and said I got to try this place. So glad I did. The food is amazing, cooked fresh and made to order. They bring it to you FAST too. I dont even think it took them 5 mins, I gotta come back one day and try everything on the menu because the food is something else and my lady agreed with me. The drinks are pretty strong too. Not watered down like most places. Come to Blu Cantina. Bring a friend or bring your lady you wont regret it!
Chill. Turn up. Sophisticated ratchet. Thats the best way to describe Blu Cantina. I really like this spot. Its a fun place to be. Get to the back and find a section and have fun with your friends. Its Peter St so parking sucks. I suggest going on Friday or Saturday.
Its weird. The food and service is pretty good but it is so loud inside the place. The music is CRANKED up, I mean loud, then everyone is trying to talk over it. You literally cant hear the person sitting across from you. Combine that with concrete floors and walls and ITS LOUD!! If thats your thing, youll like it but if you want to eat, talk and not leave with your ears ringing, go to Holy Taco. BTW - this was at 6 oclock, not late night.
This is a GREAT late night spot! I love the food and drinks here!! The crowd is always live and the music is always going to the max (literally sometimes its way too loud). The servers are nice, but very slow, even when theyre hardly busy. The bar tenders really know how to make a drink though.Blu Cantina is a cool place to go if you want to go out, without having to GO OUT!
This is the second time I’ve ordered food on DoorDash and they forget my entire order. I ordered 6 items and only received 1 full item and half of a second order. DoorDash gave a refund. But when you call the business they quickly disconnect the call when you ask to confirm they received your order. This is extremely frustrating and as much as I love supporting local business I hate when accountability is not held. I will not be ordering from there anymore. The service is ridiculous and should not be acceptable. I spend a good 80 dollars so for my order to be incomplete and half. The food is good but the fact this has become repetitive it needs to be brought to light.
Blue Catina is a great place to go and chill with friends. They always have meal and drink specials going on. The host are customer friendly and actually check on their guest. The music is always up to date and great.Ive been a couple of times and every time i go, I have a great time. Make sure to check them out, I promise you will enjoy your time
My daughter brought me here for my birthday today. I havent been here since they changed the name. Its AMAZING! I had the veggie quesadilla, which is usually the only vegetarian option at some places(and its usually BORING) but not this one!! They have other veggie options which made me happy, plus the chips were lightly seasoned with actual seasoning, and not just salt. Even the salsa was good, different than most restaurant salsa, but in an exciting way!! AND!! the service was excellent. She worked the bar, took the order and served. All with a great demeanor and a smile! Thanks!
Rude servers/waitress. I went in and was told to sit anywhere and waited for someone to bring menus, which they never did. I got up and got my own menus. Then my order came incorrect and I proceeded to wait 20+ minutes for my correct order until I decided that I am not waiting anymore and left. What I did taste was lack luster. My friend ordered guacamole and there was an entire avocado seed in the bowl. Go somewhere else if you can.
I recently discovered this place and Im glad I did! I LOVE it. The veggie tacos are the best I ever had, they actually have alot of veggies rather than just onion and green pepper like most places. The service is great every time and the waitresses are always super sweet! I highly recommend going here :)
We decided to grab take-out food to support our local business during COVID-19 times. Unfortunately our experience was very poor. The food was so bad that we ended up throwing away most of it. The chips tasted like were fried in old cooking oil. Same for the churros. The tacos where extremely soggy and tasteless. The chicken plate we ordered had old chicken and was covered with a lot of greasy sauce. Besides being almost uneatable, we also feel the food was ways too overpriced.Im really sorry to say this because we love to support local business, but well not go back to Blu Cantina.
Good but could be better. The Taco Tuesday specials made it right but Id appreciate a choice of corn tortillas & some more authentic style tacos. It seems most taco spots in ATL are going to offer tacos 4 gringos. The waitress was very pleasant, even though they were super busy. Id try it again if Im in the neighborhood.
Stopped at Blu Cantina for a quick biteAnd the pictures are quite a sightThe flavored frozen Ritas were half priceThat was on a Thursday which was niceThen some lemon pepper wingsWhich was just the thingCrispy and hotAnd 6 was not a lotI will return and try moreThis is a good East Atlanta pourPhil Lunney 12.13.2019
Really glad to see Blu Cantina back. Amazing owner who is caring and involved in passionate about seeing the surrounding community prosper, great staff and wonderfully friendly waitresses. But if you’re going for what Blu Cantina used to be; a unique experience, good strong drinks, great TexMex & bar food, hookah, and the culture, just stay over on Peters Street (while you still can).
This establishment used to be my favorite weekend spot until I witnessed the manager or whoever he is (older man fed not in his 20s/30s) be pervy to another customer. In these times stuff like this is not okay. Women should feel safe coming to an establishment without feeling like a taser and mace is necessary. Ladies be careful here. Good food, drinks but the men need to be watched. Beware.
I came here on a Friday night because I heard a radio commercial that they offered buy one get one free margaritas during happy hour. The margarita were huge fishbowls $12 (2 of those for that price great deal). While there I had a couple of there tacos which were pretty good. There was a Dj there but he was playing early 80s music. Overall I would come back again as long as they are offering the drink special
All but one of the margaritas has sour mix. The house margarita tastes like a headache. Lots of plastic waste (plastic utensils, plastic water cups, lots of little coffee straws). The music inside was too loud. The veggie taco only has bell peppers and onion. Meh food. Indoor hookah smoking. They do get points for an attentive server.
The service started off slow. Took forever to get our drinks, and they had no high chairs....which was fun for a two year old! Our nachos came out and were delicious, however, we finished eating them before my husband’s tacos even came out. The tacos were cold and not good. I wish the service was better!
My boyfriend and I came in on a Saturday night like around 10pm since other places had closed at 9/10pm. They were open until 2am which was great because we didnt have to rush ourselves and enjoyed our dinner. WE ordered shrimp and fish tacos, a pitcher of Hennessy Margarita and a 3 dip and chip appetizer and churros for dessert. The bartender was nice, attentive and made sure that everything we ordered was correct and good for us. The food and Hennessy Margarita was really good.

2022-06-11Get your bill first of your itemized meal because they are on some slick stuff up in there. I went 2 times in one week and they did the same thing. They are not giving the bill just showing you that hand held thing they have. The tip pops up on there. And they know dam well an 18% tip has already been processed in that total already. I don’t like shady people. It really makes the place look bad doing that. Be upfront right away about the 18% is already in there. The food is good though and the music too. I’ll return but will definitely ask for my itemized bill first. Smh people thirsty out here.

2022-06-25TRASH!!!!!!!!! Our food was made very incorrectly. The stores mistake not ours! Then all we are offered is a refund ( we lost out on Doordash fees) and every excuse in the book to try to make us come pick up the order that they , THEY made incorrectly. The manager and the staff seemed very unbothered that they ruined our families whole dinner. We should never have to pick up an order that THEY MESSED UP, Good customer service would have someone, even an employee of the store redo and redrive the order over. We are not that far from them. Horrible experience, we will NEVER try them again. They even tried to act like it was our mistake and not the cooks when I am sitting there reading off our instructions for our food word for word from my doordash receipt. In food, especially when you dont know what someones allergies may be, you cannot be flippant about directions!

2021-01-22We’ve been coming here for two years and it’s only gotten better! The food, service and vibes are dope and delicious! The drinks are on point! It was packed and a DJ (Queen KiKi, I think?) was spinning which had everybody feeling good! It was busy but our wait wasn’t unreasonable at all. The food was hot, fresh, and so good. The restroom was clean so that’s a plus 🙏. Does anyone know if I Am Teresa is still the owner? If so, YOU ROCK babe. This place is an East Atlanta gem. A well deserved 5 stars.

2022-05-21First time at Blu Cantina. Went there just to get a Margarita since Hippin Hops down the street only had beer to drink. There was a Police Officer and a Security Guard at the door patting people down before they entered. This was the first flag. Went inside and the Music was So Loud I turned around and left.Im older and this is just not my scene. Im sure the kids love it. Im also sure Security is absolutely necessary, which says to me Enter at your own Risk for a restaurant.

2022-04-13Drinks were good. But upset the $2 shots were dark tequila only. Website stated margarita was $2 and $5 but werent. Food was expensive and didnt meet my expectations or satisfaction. Wings were 14 and 3.00 extra for all flats. No fries came with it. We got the chicken fajitas. It had more veggies than chicken. Service could have been better. Our waitress was all over the place. She hardly checked on us. I would only go back for drinks.

2022-02-19This place was great! Went on a Friday night and the atmosphere was great! Definitely good for a fun, chill night out with friends. The waitress was super nice, the music was on point! The drinks were soo good and the food was okay. I would definitely go back!
