The Blue Lightning Track Club is the epitome of youth excellence. They strive to develop and nurture our youth in the sport of track and field and Life successes! Having been active with Youth Track and Field for almost 20 years I have had the ability to observe, contribute and manage many of the events involving our youth.Blue Lightning has grace and the right people upholding their mission. The Head Coach is dedicated and worthy of recognition for building a program that aspires to make each kid a success. Winning at any cost is not their Mantra! A well coordinated program with true diversity is what the Head Coach is about.I know Coach Struthers from the Track and Field side as well as professionally and through mutual friends. His tenacious drive keeps this program in the forefront of Georgia Youth Track Clubs. Coach is the example that you want our children to follow. His digital/technical expertise only heightens his programs mission.There are over 100 Georgia Youth Track Clubs. Blue Lightning stands out and we are all better people for having the opportunity to interact and share in their success. The Blue Lightening Track Club is one of the most highly regarded teams in the nation. Coach Steve runs an excellent program shaping each member to be a “CHAMPION” on and off the track! I have had the privilege of taking my kids to a few practices for personal training and each experience has been wonderful. Mr. Strother is extremely professional and knowledgeable. My kids times and performances improved tremendously after a few visits. I appreciate as a parent the confidence, courage, and skills he instills in each athlete both male and female. I want to personally thank Coach Steve for all of his hard work with my children, his team, and the community. His positive reputation around the track community will last for years to come. I highly recommend Coach Steve Strother and the Blue Lightening Track Club to anyone interested in training living in Rockdale County.
Being a part of the blue lighting track club family, has been a refreshing experience. Not to often now a day are we afforded the opportunity as parents to find coaches, programs etc. Who have well rounded view points with children and athletics. Along with respectable high standards. Coach Steve has been stellar in every arena in regards to knowledge, integrity and vision in reference to the kids that he coaches. The great thing about his objective in coaching is that he allows the athelete to learn self motivation, self-disciplined and self detemination by allowing them to set and establish their personal goals and then he gives them tools and techniques while stretching and challenging their mental capacity to embrace the barrier that stands between them and the atheletes desired accomplishments. Coach Steve teaches and reinforces life skills that each athelete will need for not just on a competitive track but to succeed in life. Blue lightning embraces the Village mentality in doing whats best for the team and each kid collectively and individually. My daughter joined Blue Lightning Track Club less than a year ago. She came at the tail end of the season. She ran her first race and didnt do as well as she or we as parents would have liked but by her embracing the process and the formula that Coach Steve put in place, she is now running Top 5 times in meets she has participated in. So, whoever feels that the program is a scam is obvious not familiar with process, with the blue lighting track club and or Coach Steve because he gets results but not at the expense of his integrity or the quality of this amazing track club. Blue Lightning Track Club in Conyers has been a true blessing for both of my two teenage sons. My boys just started running track less than a year ago (for my oldest son) and my baby boy just started running only a few months ago. The boys have already broken their personal records in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m collectively :) They have been committed, dedicated and have proven to themselves that hard work and a great experienced Coach equals both personal and team success in track and field. My boys and I have participated in a few sports and I’ve meet a lot of coaches and have seen their coaching styles and was not impressed. I can say with confidence that I have been impressed and very pleased with Coach Strothers’ positive nurturing coaching style. We are proud to be apart of the Blue Lightning Track Club Family.
My son had played softball since he was six, and my wife and I noticed what a little speedster he was on the field. A few months ago, by chance, we met Coach Steve walking on a high school track while training some of his team members. I asked him if hed allow my son to run with his kids to see how he would fair, and thats when he became part of the Blue Lightening family. My son loves everything about this club. He loves the challenges, the competitiveness, and the comradery between him and his team mates. What my wife and I love is that weve seen the growth over these past few months in his strength, attitude, endurance, and confidence. Workouts arent necessarily easy, but the kids seem to love them. Coach teaches the kids to focus on improving rather than winning, and because of that, my son breaks his PR every single meet. Hes learned he has to beat himself every time which hes done consistently. This has been a great learning experience for us and our son. I know my son is on the right path to reaching his full potential, and has the right Coach and team to do it! Champions on 3...1,2,3...CHAMPIONS!
Parents this is an excellent track organization period. Coach Steve and his team operate with integrity and transparency in all facets of the team. Your athlete will not only improve but will learn what it takes to be a true champion. They will develop physical and mental skills; understanding that persistence pays great dividends. I have watched many practices & competitions, its clear that Blue Lightning is a team to be reckoned with. Parents dont sleep on Blue Lightning!
Ive the pleasure of knowing coach Steve as a very professional person with both knowledge and patience. One thing about our T&F community we are connected from past greats to our upcoming youth. This club is fostered on the ideals of both great coaches and great athletes. This sports foundation is rooted in both being disciplined and having fun, something the BLUE lighting TC is all about. I am in awe that someone would refer to this club or its coach as a scam. I realize everything isnt a fit for everyone and perhaps that was the case for the scam review. However, I have two athletes that run with Blue Lightening and thus far our experience has been nothing short of awesome!! The coaches as well as the kids encourage and support one another. You are constantly updated on your childs/childrens progress as well as made aware of techniques necessary for continuous improvement. You receive feedback on workouts, very detailed track meet information, diets and nutrition tips for your athlete, etc... This isnt our first track club and we enjoyed the previous experience as well, but in moving forward... Thus far we give 5 stars!!
My daughter really enjoyed running for Coach Steve. He motivated the kids to do their absolute best by not only being encouraging but also explaining the why behind his instructions and giving them the information they needed to succeed. He also encouraged them to excel in all areas of life - not just track - along with encouraging independent thought and motivation. I would run for him if he started coaching adults too!!!
My daughter joined the team last year. She is a bit of an introvert, but Coach Steve does a great job of encouraging her to give her best. She continues to improve, both on the field and off! The champions and parents on the team are also very supportive and that is hard to find!
I have known Coach Strother for many years. You cannot meet a more professional and down to earth person. For him track and field is not a stream of revenue. It is a passion. His club began with only one or two members and I am proud to see it grow over the years. He seeks to maximize his athletes potential and sets individual goals for each athlete, regardless of ability. We both have children who have been competing against each other since they were seven. He encourages and advises any athlete, no matter the club they belong to. He even provided photo evidence of a result that allowed my own child to advance to the Junior Olympics. Coach Strother is a real credit to the track and field community, and if you were to meet anyone of his children, you would understand what makes him a great coach.
Ive know Coach Strother for over 30 years, so its no surprise to see such great values - dedication, integrity, hard work, supporting your team - incorporated in this program. Its who he is both on and off the field. Hes an excellent mentor for all ages.These young athletes are amazing and inspiring. Its wonderful to see them learn positive values through their sport, and apply them to all areas of their life, they truly are champions!
I am a student who recently joined the track and field world my junior year in high school for high jump. The summer after my senior year I decided I was going to run. I decided to join the Blue Lightning Track Club because the head coach was not only friendly, it was obvious he had the knowledge and facilities to get me better. The coach was understanding when I didn’t completely get something the first time. Whenever I wanted to do extra, he made sure to meet me at the track with the equipment to help me get better. Thanks to him, I was able to compete in numerous summer meets I was not able to do before. I made it to the AAU National Junior Olympics and became an All-American all in one season with his program. I now compete at the collegiate level at Tuskegee University and I am one the fastest on the team. Even to this day we keep in touch. He helps me come up with workouts that I do on my own and I train with him over breaks. I highly recommend this program as it will make you not only a better athlete but a better person as well
Steve is an A-1 Coach. There will always be parents who are dissatisfied, especially in youth sports. But hes great, his coaching is on point and his team is one of the up and coming teams in the state. i would definitely recommend.
At times Blue Lightning lacked organization and parental involvement. The head coach didnt deliver what was promised in terms of an overall track and field learning experience. I contemplated asking for a refund! There were also behavioral issues among players that had to be addressed. Overall the organization didnt measure up to what the website advertised and the price was too much in regards to the lack of professionalism, athletic development, and inspiring atmosphere.
We are new to the program this year and I have seen that this is a team of champions. My son is learning what it’s like to be a champion on a track and field level. He played soccer last year and was a champ at that so on his off season he joined Blue lightning to keep him in shape and has decided to run in the spring .
Hes a crook, liar, his work outs doesnt help your athletes. An hes bad for athletes moral. Talk down to athletes and dont build them up. His favors his own kid over better athletes. Please avoid at all cost. Many coaches in the club world would advise the same!!!! Conyers an Covington track has better then him. An if you notice theyre was an uproar of reviews lately, thats because he begged parents to write reviews to help him because two other parent saw thru him early an wrote a review. They wasnt lying. There is no team coroity. Be prepare to train your own kid because he is the only coach, he will lie an tell you that coaches are coming thru all offseason then boom season starts an there is no coaches. He will work the parents who dont know nothing about track! and will be to worried about their own kid vs other kids. CROOK! CROOK! CROOK!
The Head Coach Steve Strothers whom I have known and followed for 40 years is a methodical and a no nonsense coach who also uses periodization to assure success of his athletes- he does this with compassion and respect of each of his athletes. He understands no athletes are alike - thus producing top young athletes who will never burn out as they continue their careers on or off the track- Coach Strothers’s integrity and principles are two attributes that are hard to find- Exceptional Coach!!!
This is a great coach he makes sure every athelete is putting out 100 percent and by the way I am a athlete ot blue lightning track club and after I got his training I got a whole lot faster. People that say that this team a scam its not the coach cares for all of his athletes and make sure they get to their peak performance.
Coach Steve is a great coach and also a good mentor to the kids on his team. My son has progressed so much since we moved here and joined this team.
Will be one year my daughter joined. She also runs track at her school. She is doing extremely well and a much better athlete.The difference? Coach Steve and her commitment.
The coach talk a great game but truth is he is scam. I do not recommend please do your research before attaching your kids these programs.
This is not the team or program for you!! He will scam you out of your money!! Not only will he charge your card and promise a refund he WILL KEEP charging your card after you leave this program!

2021-08-14Blue Lightning Track Club under the direction of Coach Steve promotes everything this sport has to offer...and as a result, he produces True CHAMPIONS! It didnt take long for me to decide that this was the track club for my son. Our first encounter with Coach Steve led me to believe he cared about his athletes as a whole first. He refers to all of them as CHAMPIONS! He provides whole group and individualized training, talks, walks, and eats his regimen for healthy athletes, and leads his track club with respect, organization, and consistency. In addition, he provides lifelong memories through photos and videos. I personally, have witnessed the growth, progress, and improvements mentally and physically in my son over the last few months. He works and trains hard and has lots of fun doing it. The training, encouragement, and inspiration my child received under the leadership of this track club and Coach Steve will continue to influence him to strive to reach his full potential and become the best athlete he can be!

2019-03-27My daughter joined Blue Lightning Track Club less than a year ago and we have seen a drastic improvement in her running times and personal development. Coach Steve pushes each child to be their personal beat. His approach focuses on success through improvement. He doesnt focus on winning as the sole criteria to determine his teams success and the creates a positive approach to athletics. He believes in all of the children and their goals. He provides workouts that challenge our Champions, as they are affectionately called, he seeks to bring out the best in each champion by providing a safe environment for them to grow.

2020-01-20This April 2020, will be one year since my daughter has joined Blue Lightning. What we’ve seen in her growth, mentally and physically is nothing short of an inspiration. The coaches here provide encouragement , healthy training and resources to become the best athlete they know your child can become. My daughter continues to push herself because of the support she receives from her coaches and team mates; ultimately building her up to be an incredible athlete with limitless possibilities within track and field. If you’re looking for a track club, here is the best one, hands down!

2019-03-27Diamond in the ruff!! My son had been running track for two years, and wasnt showing growth. He wasnt getting faster or stronger. I was referred to different clubs that were not to my standards, so, I googled Track clubs in Conyers, GA and am thankful that I did. I called the number provided for Blue Lightning Track Club, and , Coach Steve (Founder and Head Coach) returned my call. Coach Steve calling me back was the first bonus, because it let me know that he, though the founder, was accessible. He was very informative, and asked me to bring my son out to a practice to see how the club operated. Not only was Coach Steve very friendly, warm, and welcoming, so were the parents and team members. My son felt apart and we hadnt even signed up yet! This is our first season with Blue Lightning, and my son has shown more progress in less than two months, than he had in two years. The Blue Lightning Track Clubs holds true to their mission of helping athletes become stronger, faster, and overall true Champions. If you are looking for a club, look no further. Champions on 3!!!

2019-09-07My familys experience with the Blue Lightning Track Club was positive and fun. Before competing for Blue Lightning my son was with another track club in the Rockdale County area. I was impressed with how the team performed at meets and the way Coach Steve worked with his athletes.After my son joined the team, I was impressed that Coach Steve called all of the kids on the team Champions. I saw how this simple but powerful word energized my son and the other Champions to believe in themselves, achieve personal best, and encourage their teammates. My son applies the Champions mindset to his schoolwork, too.Throughout the season, Coach Steve consistently provided detailed information that helped Champions and parents prepare for meets. He also provided training and techniques that improved my sons times in the sprints. Ultimately, my son qualified for and competed at the National Junior Olympics. Wow! What an awesome experience!Coach Steve has such a positive attitude, and my son enjoyed the team comradery. Coach Steve recognized each Champion for their accomplishments at our end of season team barbeque. My family is so grateful for Coach Steve.Were looking forward to another season, and my son cant wait to start training with Blue Lightning Track club again.

2019-03-27After years of trying to get my daughter to try out for track she finally decided to go ahead and give it a shot last year. Coach Steve saw something in her and from her first practice to now he has pushed and motivated her in a positive and uplifting way. I have seen her grow and develop under his leadership, not only that, she loves track now! Blue Lightning is more than a track team its a family and coach Steve has done an excellent job of fostering this environment. Thanks to coach Steve my daughter has improved in each meet and loves doing it!

2019-04-11I must agree with many of the reviews here, that the Blue Lighting Track Club is more than just a track club, it’s a family!!! They have not only helped my son to be a good athlete on the field but have also taught him to be a good student off the field. The motivation, the team work, the direction and compassion of the coaches have totally blown me away. I love the growth that I have seen in my son, from the first track meet to now. This is our first full year with Blue Lighting and I am so excited and anticipating the growth my son will make with this organization. If your looking for a track club that stands by their mission and values, this is the place!!!!

2019-04-30I tickle myself with excitement every time I reflect on the time weve made the decision to join Blue Lightning track club. What an amazing experience it has been so far. We have two kids who wake up enthusiastic about track...they literally count down the days to practice and meet days. Coach Steve has been a phenomenal leader in every aspect. His coaching style is to bring out the best in our Champions and he effectively does this through strategic practices that involves fundamentals, core workout and speed training. He however takes it a step further which in my humble opinion separates this club from the others. He sends out detailed updates tracking your childs progress. He incorporates meal plans highlighting the various foods that our athletes should be eating to optimize their performance. Most importantly, both my kids have consistently improved their personal records at every meet which validates the superior training theyre receiving at this club.

2019-03-28Blue Lightning Track Club has done wonders for my daughters’ self esteem and has helped tremendously in further developing her skills in track and field. I was amazed at watching her skills progress and improve. Coach Strother goes above and beyond for his Champions encouraging them to strive to be the very best on and off the track. He teaches them that through hard work and dedication they will achieve success. From the beginner athlete that has never run to the advanced and experienced, Blue Lightning welcomes anyone that is willing to put in the hard work and effort to be a Champion.

2019-03-27Both of my sons joined the Blue Lighting Track Club last year. Coach Steve possesses every quality you’d want in a coach. He’s motivational, passionate, disciplined and he has a hunger for every child or as we say champion to do better. His training not only builds strong conditioned athletes but it builds confidence in the children to reach new goals. You won’t find a more committed and caring coach.I highly recommend the Blue Lightining Track Club.
