Book Nook in other cities:
Ive been riding past that store for several years now and I have never stopped to go inside! Today something just said Deborah, go inside! And I am so glad that I did! It was fantastically designed so that different categories were in different areas such as romance and historical books or books for children. I intend to go back and explore further because I have opened up a plethora of adventures at this bookstore! You should try it yourself! You will be amazed!
This is a great used book store! There is always a wide selection of titles and the atmosphere is calm and soothing. No one bothers you and you can peruse books at your leisure. The stock is constantly updated so you can usually find what you are looking for. Be sure to trade in your old books - their trade in policy is generous and worth your while.Definitely worth a visit!
This place is awesome. They have all the books in the world it would seem and its a relatively large store even though it looks small and it has little rooms of book even places to sit and read. Its all organized by category and easy to find just what your looking for!!
They have a vast stock of books, magazines, hardcovers and general media. Also I found some vintage collectables like toys and records. The place isnt too big but it is fill with merchandise wall to wall. There are sections but be prepared to spend quite some time browsing on your own. They have a decent section for CDs and records as well as DVDs and blue Ray. The prices could use a bit more of reality because I found quite common items priced very steep. After all most of the items arent brand new. Overall its a good place for any book lover and Im glad they survived the pandemic crisis.
If you are into old books then this is the place to be. Locally owned book store which not only sells old books but trades then as well. I have traded few books and use the store credit to purchase books from the store. Most of the books are in very good condition and totally worth the cost.
I have been coming here since I was in middle school and I love this store and I have bought so many hard to find movies and books for a fraction of the price of any other competitors that are around this location I will continue to shop here and I urge you to do the same
Something for everyone and for your every mood. Love to browse and just pick stuff off the shelves almost at random. Wish the Buford Highway store was still open. Decatur is a real haul for me from where I live so this Lilburn store is a treasure. 4 or 5 of the last books (novels, although I buy non fiction as well) from Book Nook have become real favorites that I will always cherish. Pls help support this special landmark place with your business, especially during this challenging time.
The employees there were supper nice and they are always available for help if you need anything like finding a certain book, well educated people on novels and the store has a great variety of books, movies, music and collectibles. I will be visiting this store more often 5/5
If you turn in books here you get store credit or cash. The cash isnt worth it on most things but store credit gives you 50 percent off their price which is a better deal. You never know until you look to see what they have that day. I have gone and found recently released books. Its a great place to get many titles by one author. Fun place to browse. They carry soft back, hard back, coffee table, vintage, kids and signed books. They also carry comics, DVD, albums and CD and misc other things. Good luck hunting!
A great used book store that sells more thank books!First off, you can find books from all genres in this place. Looking for self-help books? They got it! Looking for the Classics? They got it! Looking for horror books? They got it!The Book Nook also sells comic books, graphic novels, DVDs, action figures and CDs.You can easily spend thirty minutes in this store just looking at all the books. Not counting anything else.As for prices, they are reasonably. I bought some paperback books from 5.99 to 6.99. Hardbacks will be more expensive though.
Great selection of books. A bit cramped. Thought the prices were too high. A used paperback book thats $10.00 regular price, their price is $6.00. Thats way too high when you can get a brand new paperback at Sams club for $6.68. If they would lower their prices to 60 percent off Id be a regular shopper.
Book selection is great. Sadly, the vinyl is overpriced ($10+, sometimes more than twice the cost of competitors) and disorganized (much of what they have is in bins of new arrivals but those are packed full and difficult to browse). Suggested alternatives: the nearby CD Warehouse and the Book Nook at North Druid Hills.
I love this place. They have a good sized stock and, really, nothing can beat the feeling of a book in your hand. Plus, its always fun to be surprised by unexpected book findings. There simply arent enough used book stores left and I am happy to support one of the few that still stands.
The woman who was working there was very helpful and informative. My kids are into birding, and she was very knowledgeable about the subject. We werent able to purchase these beautiful rare Roger Tory Peterson books, but we left with some nice field guides.Besides books of all kinds, the store had old vinyl records, comic books, dvds, cds, etc.
I cant believe it has taken me so long to find this gem in Lilburn. Tons of books some several decades old but in great condition. Fabulous collection of DVDs, vinyl, comic books, collectibles. Their books are well organized too & they offer good trade in value towards their inventory. Go see them. They only allow 2 people per nook at a time for COVID-19 safety. Make sure to tell the cashier if its your fist time there bc you get Book Nook cash to use when you return!
Great selection of used CDs, books, and movies. I never leave empty-handed! If youre looking for affordable CDs, they have a shelf with some as low as $0.50. Ive found some gems hiding in there from time to time. Book selection spans all genres and most are in pretty good condition. Movies are the same, a little bit for everyone. Overall, a great little shop thats been around for quite some time. Check it out!
This place is incredible.I go here every now and then to get lost in the labyrinth of bookshelves. They also have lots of records which I pour through to update my own record collection. The staff is friendly, chill, and always happy to answer any questions. They also will buy your old books. Its a lovely little independent bookstore.
This place is incredible. They have books out the ying yang!!! I went here expecting to find what I was looking for. I didnt find it but I found something even better. A very friendly and helpful hipster type woman who offered me top notch customer service and Id drive 45 miles to shop at her store in a heartbeat. Great job maam. I hope she reads this post since its basically about her. Im the guy who though you had a store in little five points on 7/28/19 during the last 30 mins of your store hours.
Lots more than books. If you are the type of person who still enjoys physical media, you should definitely go. Its one of the best used book stores Ive been to. The used CD selection is pretty exhausting. If youre shopping for CDs, set aside some time-theyre organized by artists first initials, so if you want that one REM CD, you have to peruse all the whole R section. Also, DVDs and comic books!
Old comics for $0.50! Vintage childrens books for $5.00!The store has several rooms of used books arranged by category. There is other media too, including BluRays, DVDs, VHS, video games, and music. I cant speak for everyone, but I imagine fans of different genres / types of books will be able to find a few gems at very reasonable prices. As a fan of comics and childrens books, I certainly did. I detail my adventures below, so read on only if youre curious. The concise description above is my courtesy to you.Ive visited Book Nook on Lawrenceville Hwy two times. The first time I stopped by simply to check out the local book store. I was amazed at the sheer quantity, the low price, and the character of the books (see: used, rare, vintage). As I settle into middle-age, I appreciate the nostalgia, past design aesthetic, and tactile quality of older products. As a fan of childrens books, I enjoyed the selection and illustration styles of yesteryear grouped together in a room devoted to books for younger humans. I ended up buying an old Disney book with strong line work (its Disney) and flat colors, nothing like the Frozens and Moanas kids watch today (which are works of art in their own right).I passed by a couple more rooms of books with words. Genre books, business books, biographies, and such, Id imagine. I noticed a sci-fi section, but its probably just a matter of a nerd noticing what he likes.Past the smaller rooms, the store opens into a larger area with used BluRays, DVDs, VHS (yep!), music (didnt really visit this section), and COMIC BOOKS! The rows upon rows of narrow white boxes filled with comics reminded me of visiting comic stores as a teen in the 90s. There is a modest collection of new, bagged comics, but I feel the real prize was the used comics. There is a medium sized shelf of manga too. There is a good number of graphic novels, but they didnt seem too much cheaper than what you could get new ones for on Amazon. For individual issues, bagged new comics start at $1, but the boxes on the floor contain unbagged comics for $0.50 each. I dont need any comics (who really NEEDS them), but Im happy to buy some for so cheap. I think I got a Jim Lee Uncanny X-Men, an old Wizard magazine featuring Joe Madureira (also half a dollar), and a couple others before I decided I had made my wife, who was accompanying me, wait long enough.I have visited Book Nook one more time, sans wife, and I spent at least half an hour (probably closer to an hour) rummaging through the used comics. I started with the As, got through the Bs, and went home very satisfied with a stack of comics for $11 or $12 dollars. I got several old Avengers comics from the 80s and 90s, all of Astonishing X-Men (Joe Mad) and Amazing X-Men from the Age of Apocalypse, whatever BattleChasers issues they had, a Masamune Shirow Appleseed, and perhaps a couple more. I dont know if Ill make it all the way to the Zs, but Id love to go back and exchange a few George Washingtons to ward off maturity and adulthood.Book Nook is a happy place for me. I visited their North Druid Hills location and also had a grand time!
Really cool bookstore lots of used selection though due to that you wont necessarily find a specific book you are looking for. Also a large selection of comics and collectables. If you still have a vcr they have vhs tapes as well as modern blu-ray and dvds. Additionally big selection of records and cds. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the are.
Very varied, locally collected/traded books, CDs/DVDs, and comic/anime collector pieces. Enjoyed how section reading is written above doorways and organized chronologically as well as should be. My 3 year old son and I made friends with another lady and her grandson while browsing and the tight rooms with easy in-out viewing made me feel comfortable and safe for my son to explore a little while picking out an educational reward dated from 90s to today stories while adhering to general standards of manners approved by adults (parents who are weary, check before handing the written material to your child) and subject matter appropriate to any readers age. And since Best Buy went digital, it is nearly impossible finding music or movies to own without resorting to ordering what you need through online like Amazon. Location is easy to see, but the location is hard to determine/judge turning in off the main road. The opening to the lot of the establishment is odd to judge since once you make the turn in, the drive slants down at a deep angle and sharply bears to either direction (the entrance and outside stands are to the drivers left in the parking lot). And I suggest your unwanted pieces willing to trade or sell could b worth more there than online. And either way, they give an awesome trade-in value if what u have is junk but do based on weight.
Learn how to deal with People of Color, and be more polite towards people shopping in your store instead of rushing them out the door. When asked if there was a website you replied “No, which was a lie and I am truly OFFENDED by the treatment received and my Grandson was with me. Never again Will I shop at your establishment.
Absolutely Rude!!! I called to inquire about a bulk purchase of items I wanted to make and was hung up on. When I called back to see if it was a mistake, she answered What do I want? I asked her name and she wouldnt give it to me but admitted to hanging up on me because I wouldnt get to the point and again ask What did I want? I told her that was all I needed from her and hung up. IM Very DISGUSTED by her lack of customer service and common respect for others! I will never spend another penny there for me or my kids! DISGUSTING ESTABLISHMENT!!!

2022-07-26The best used bookstore I have seen in years!! I remember seeing this about ten years ago when I first moved to Georgia and now I finally walked in and was NOT disappointed! The best books and great deals and I purchased over $50 so I got 10% off my purchase! Love the seller who was there, didn’t get his name but he was very sweet! You even get a free bookmark per purchase. Didn’t disappoint at all, will definitely be coming back! Please give the place some love if you are in the neighborhood!

2022-05-04I love The Book Nook. You never know what youll find. Last week, I was a little depressed about Gilbert Gottfrieds passing, and then I found his book at the Nook! You better believe it came home with me.

2022-06-04They don’t close at 7:00pm. They close at 6:45pm! I raced from the Westside of Atlanta knowing I’d have 15 minutes to get what I needed only to be met at the door at 6:43 by an older guy telling me they are “closed”. The owner needs to get new employees at this place. I love Book Nook but the service here horrible!!!

2020-01-26I really like this store. We had been to the one in Decatur abour a few thousand times. This one is smaller, but quieter and intimate. Books line every wall and theres a pleasure in browsing and looking at things you never would have seen otherwise. Excellent.

2022-02-05Ive supported this business 30 YEARS with my loyalty of buying up Prince albums & magazines. They are always short with me when I come into their establishment and some older lady especially with her bigotry making snark remarks towards me being a Prince fan. She even said during one visit that I should get a commission for selling a Roger and Zapp vinyl to a customer which gave them more business especially for someone that is very rude and unprofessional towards such a good loyal customer.
