Book Nook in other cities:
The Book Nook has been one of my favorite used book stores since I learned how to read. The Marietta location, while smaller than its Decatur counterpart, is so full of life and charm. The two lovely ladies that were at the store today were both very patient with me, and helped me with all the questions I had.I can recall when I was younger, visiting the Book Nook and picking out books to read on the car ride home. Its a great place to get secondhand books that youll love for years.
Just gave them some books the other day and got a $20 store credit. When you go in there are tons of books organized by category. There’s a kids room and a ton of toys but I didn’t really get to check them out.The store credit can only be used on books and it only counts for half of your purchase. So if I went in and spent $10 I would be able to use $5 of my credit (leaving me with $15) and I would have to pay $5. Which is extremely reasonable seeing as the books were going to donation anyway!
Found this place by accident needed to get rid of my wifes library and wanted to donate books or sell them. And found this place. My wife is a writer. And she had some incredible books and yeah. The ladies were very generous. And not only that the vinyl and books and toys are just fantastic
Love this bookstore. Barebones, not much decoration, but theyve had the books Ive wanted at a great price. They have a huge selection! The staff is friendly without being saccharine. I was surprised to not get an automatic greeting when I first walked in, but I realized I like it better that way. Its a fresh breath of genuine interaction. And when I asked for help finding a book, someone took me straight to it.A diamond in the rough.
Great selection and wonderful staff. Ive been a customer for years. Ive always enjoyed my purchases and time spent discussing various films with the crew, as most are movies buffs as well. A great location for hard to find or out of print editions. Were fortunate to have them in the community!
Always have something different a little offbeat. They have a pretty good vinyl selection, variety of books, even childrens books and some toys. Always been coming here every so often and they really never dissapoint. If you want something different, off the beaten path, and has the charm, this might be for you!
I have been going here for years. Love the staff. Love the layout. Love the old school vibe. It is literally the only used book store worth a damn in a 30 mile radius. I taught Brit Lit for 20 years and I would give extra credit to students who visited. Its truly a place to fall in love with books.
Called ahead... they pulled the book I needed... 3 copies. We browsed a little. I was impressed with the size of the store. So expansive. You cant tell from the storefront. They sell all types of media... old Nintendo NES games to xbox 360 titles. . . Comic books... board games. Its a little gem tucked away on Roswell Road.
Super creepy and run down looking on the outside, which I also kind of love about it, but the book selection was good and they have records, CDs and cassettes. There staff was also really sweet and game me a discount on my books! I wish I lived closer to it, although my wallet probably doesnt
I love the Book Nook. They always have a great selection. The staff isnt pushy and will help you if asked, which I really like because it means I can browse the shelves in peace. The whole place smells of woof and paper and the floors creak when you walk, making me feel like Im in a dusty library. I shop there all the time and I really love that they give old books new homes instead of them getting thrown away.
Very dirty store. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. I was uncomfortable and the prices werent the best on the market but not to bad. The low score was more because of staff and the atmosphere. I will not be ever going back or recommending. I couldnt wait to get out of the book nook.
The store itself has a great selection of books, movies, music, etc... But, the owner decided to get into a political discussion with my girlfriend for almost an hour, during which he made multiple sexist comments and made her feel extremely uncomfortable. Maybe, in the future, he should remain in his office and keep his opinions to himself. We were there to ship for books, not listen to some old man rant and rave like a lunatic. Dont bother shipping here unless youre looking for an argument.
I love the Book Nook! They have books on just about anything you could imagine. They have alot of books that are surprisingly organized well. They are all also in really good shape for them to be used books. The book nook sells DVD collections, records, collectors editon dolls and even more! The staff tends to be nice although some more than others. I have been coming here for years and will continue as long as its here.
Book Nook is a good used book store. Although, it has a very small selection of hardcover literary fiction. There are a lot more popular authors. They have a large comic book and dvd section as well. The prices are neither bad nor great, but somewhere in the middle ground of books. The major drawback: they could use ti be a bit more vigilent about the state of books they resale. Several had sigfinicant mildew issue.
The owner has lost my business forever. I used to frequent this store several times a month. After my last experience I will not be back. My wife and I arrived and began browsing. Immediately I noticed a raised voice from behind the counter. As I listened I overheard a male berating a female for her political views in a very condescending and rude way. I walked to the front and realized the voices were from two staff members. The older male was continuing to berate what appeared to be his younger female staff member and began to espouse his political bigoted views degrading minorities and immigrants. At that point a fellow customer commented he may have picked the wrong bookstore. The man behind the counter then turned his vitriol towards the customer and informed him he was the owner and that the customer could, get the **** out of my store. The customer, my wife and I, and several other customers decided to do just that. I had the pleasure of informing the owner on my way out that I would not be back.
Ive known Book Nook for a LONG time. I used to live in Chamblee and go to the one at Skyland Shopping Centre. When I moved here, I was so glad to be able to get there by bus. They moved and while CCT cut the #65 bus out, my boyfriend and I still go here a lot. I usually spend a great deal of time or money-or both more than at most bookstore because I can afford more here than Barnes & Nobles or the old bookstores at the malls.
I will never shop Roswell Rd location (or this company) again. I will never knowingly give my money to a bigot. I would suggest the owner to keep his political and personal views within the confines of his personal space. You never know who is listening, but then again Im sure he doesnt care because I could hear him. Furthermore, his views about the area in which he earns a living were very negative. Go figure.
Appalling and scary experience. The Book Nook has lost my business indefinitely. This past Saturday I was dismayed to over hear an older male (the owner) behind the counter of the Marietta Book Nook loudly disrespecting and openly belittling a younger female employee due to her political views. He openly voiced many racist and sexist comments. A fellow customer said I think I chose the wrong bookstore to try to curb the berating of the female employee to which the owners response to this patron was screaming, I guess you believe in freedom of speech, Get the F*** out of my store then. I am utterly appalled by this owners behavior towards his female employee and then to his customer. I would not support the business of an owner that openly voices bigotry and displays aggression towards others.

2022-08-07My first time visiting the book nook was September of 2021. At that time the store was a wee bit quiet/stale and not to fancy metaphysical/ spirituality section (aka my favorite)Now it has what seems to be a completely new staff. They are all kind and have a good energy about them the store manager Ali was so kind and sweet to me ! She’s very helpful and knowledgeable about the store in its entirety. She will always point you in the right direction and handle your trade ins with care and good consideration. The new and bestselling section always has something new to offer! The store itself is more tidy and organized than last year!I’m impressed with all the changes in just under a year! The store is full of books, comics, Blu rays and dvds, great childrens room, and you could get lost in the stacks for hours! If you ever doubted the book nook for your used book needs, give it a second glance.

2021-07-09I. Love. This. Place! Its a used bookstore so you are going to get a wide assortment of books, DVDs, blu-rays, comics and records! And you can exchange the books that no longer bring you joy for bookstore credit. I love finding paperback gems so this store is a treat for me!Everything is on one level so movement-wise, its pretty accessible. If you need help getting things from the top shelf or opening the door, then I suggest bringing a buddy to help you out.I 100% recommend this store!

2021-07-26I have tried giving this store a chance multiple times, and every time I am disappointed. The stores atmosphere feels very cheap, and not cozy at all. Most of the books are older, which is fine for fiction, but I wouldnt come here for nonfiction. The prices are OK, but not great. Some of the older paperbacks cost more in this store than they did new. I would give them a chance, but I know it isnt the store for me.
