Branchwater in other cities:
Service was very slow and casual feeling for a restaurant that images itself like this one! It’s not super expensive but $150 for 2 people isn’t super cheap! we’ve tried it twice hoping for a better experience and last night was worse than the first time.Food was subpar. We were sat in bar area and seemed more like a neighborhood pub with a bunch of kids drinking at the bar who were employees or friends if the bartenders! My husband ordered Filet and it was way undercookedI hope things improve. It’s in a great spot
This place is either racist or just unprofessional! My son and I came there to celebrate his birthday. The young lady wrote my name and number down to be called for the next seating available. We were there at 7:55 pm and waited until 8:30 pm before we went to Oak Steakhouse. 9:45 pm came around and the place still never called for us to be seated. If I could give no stars then I would. Luckily I had sense enough to leave or my son and I would’ve starved. What a way to treat ppl that’s willing to help your business.
The veal Saltimbocca was horrible. The veal was chopped meat almost of dog food consistency Served in a slop of overcooked biscuit noodles of some sort. The Mac and cheese was very bland, arbys actually makes a better and more flavorfull mac and cheese we did not taste a hint of gouda. The sweet potatoes Mashed did not have any seasoning or sweetness to the at all. I was hoping some sort of butter or Cinnamon, even brown sugar. The chicken for the salad was seasoned on one side only. I didnt realize the extra effort it must have taken to season both sides. We will not order from here again. Quite frankly suprised the reviews are as good as they ate since nothing we ordered was good. Wait I take it back, the 2 creme brules we ordered did not disappoint.
Super short review:AMAZING food, disappointing ambiance, mediocre service, definitely overpriced for what you get.Full review:This place is fantastic but there are a couple of areas where it can be improved. First of all the food is incredible and does not have much room for improvement so if all you care about is loving what you eat, then this is a five star place. Get the shrimp & grits or the braised beef plates (Ive had both). You wont be disappointed! However, if the overall experience matters, then I would call it more of a 3.5 or so. I sat on the back porch area with my wife and honestly it felt like a whole different restaurant. The front porch has a nice view and wooden tables (maybe?) covered with tablecloths and flatware/linen rolls while the back has wire framed metal tables and no tablecloths or utensils and you kinda feel exiled. Like I said, it was like a whole different experience. The service wasnt bad but it wasnt outstanding. The selection was pretty small but that actually makes it easier to decide what to order, for some people. Parking lot was absolutely STUPIDLY crowded for a dinky town like this. The facility here is far too overpopulated. Bottom line = I recommend it but there are probably better things you could do with that money. Nice date place but there are lots of other, probably better, nice date places nearby.
We were one of the first customers to have their brunch menu. We were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food. The staff was attentive and everything arrive in a timely manner. A couple things to note: their Mimosas are a bit on the pricey side, especially considering what it is. The menu is limited but to be fair, today was the first day serving brunch.Other than that, I would highly recommend Branchwater for brunch.
We got sick after eating the lobster here. Im not sure how this place has SO many good reviews. My husband and I tried Branchwater for our anniversary as the menu sounded really good. My husband got the ribeye, but clearly was a NY strip which doesnt have any marbling. When he cut into it we knew right away it was not the more expensive ribeye that he had ordered. Waited forever for the manager who dismissed his claim and took the plate to show the cook. She came back with the same plate (that she had carried through the restaurant) and said the cook said it was just the end part which is why the shape was different and the marbling not present in this ribeye. We primarily eat ribeye, so we know the difference. Newsflash, if you run out of an item, let the customer decide what they want instead, dont try to pass off a lesser quality/cut as it is something else then try to make said customer feel like they are in the wrong for questioning. No offer to make it right or anything. I got the lobster, which made us sick that night as I shared it with my husband. Way over priced for the quality and what you receive. We wont be back here.
I can here for my Birthday,. Everyone got their meals but me. After everyone was done then the server came over and asked “did I miss something” at that point I told her I no longer wanted to wait for my meal. I’ve had similar situations in the past and the restaurant has always offered to do something little like a free desert, but not Branchwater. I’ve been here several times in the past but never again. Obviously they aren’t concerned about customer retention. As well the food was alright at best
The Brussel sprouts Appetizer was delicious, Calamari App. Was to chewy and overcooked. Ordered the surf and turf for my meal and that was a very bad decision on my part. The Sirloin Steak was fatty and chewy. Didnt even eat half of it. Small menu to choose from. One and done restaurant for me
The staff was nice. The food looked good. But needs a little flavor. I had a steak and it was under cook for me they never did ask how I wanted it. But I ended up throwing it away along with my boyfriend dinner he had short ribs with was really tiny pieces of a roast which he doesn’t eat so after spending $101.00 he only ate the side of Mac and cheeses and I only ate mash potatoes grilled shrimp and a small lobster tail.
Had a lovely time for our anniversary!!! Service was so friendly- Jackie the manager made sure to come by and check on us, but they left us alone knowing it was an occasion. The food was.......incredible!!!! *see pictures 😊 so good. And to top it off the creme brûlée was perfect, like PERFECT people!!!! Thank you for such a good time, full belly, and an experience that will have us coming back! Can’t wait to try the canton location this week for work!!
We reserved a table prior to arriving. The table was in the corner bar area. The bar was so loud we could barely hear our daughter across the table. We ordered the Ribeye, The unicorn fish and ahi tuna. The food was okay, but definitely not 4+ star worthy. Nothing special about the service. I had to ask them to turn down the spotlight over our table.I am surprised about the great reviews. We would not go back. We expected more atmosphere and better food.
We were looking for somewhere close by and different for our anniversary dinner and came across this website. Looked great! Lesson learned… don’t decide based on the photos or the online menus you might find. We were both ready to try the flatbread apps they had on their menu because they looked and sounded fantastic. Nope, not available. We decided on their charcuterie board and calamari which were awesome! Dinner was not memorable. The Eagle Rare Old Fashions were very tasty. We’ll come back for the charcuterie board and drinks.
The teenage hostesses need training. I walked in Saturday night, lobby was EMPTY, no greeting, nothing. I told them my husband was parking and we were excited to be there because we hadnt been there since Covid. Again, no response. Not even, We cant seat you until your husband arrives. When my husband walked in, one of the girls finally looked up from her phone and asked snidely, Do you have a reservation? Along with that and mediocre food, we wont be back.
Food was so good, I couldnt stop eating when I was full. I had good drinks, the mule was nice. The burger I ate was one of the best in my life. They had hand cut fries and they made the ketchup.... My wife had the fried lobster tails and it was also delicious, she smashed it. The service was good and they were really fast. Our waitress could describe all the food and drinks. Great time, cant wait to go back.
First time visiting BW at Vickery. Inside was packed so went to the outside bar while waiting. Initial experience outside was disappointing as the service was less than stellar. However, once we got to the inside bar, we were greeted by Katie. The sky opened up and the sun shined down as she made the perfect dirty martini. A blue jay landed on my shoulder as Katie reviewed the specials. And then angels began singing…oh no it was actually Katie’s partner behind the bar, Angel. We had the best time and will be back for many years to come. Please save us a seat at your bar ladies, you’ve got new regulars for life.
My food was really wonderful so I rated Branchwater 5 stars. Great meal. That said, I want to mention that the carryout process could use some improvement. I ordered online and it was very easy. However, Vickery Village was super crowded even at 5:45 pm and I circled several times looking for a place to park so I could run in and get my meal. I didnt see a reserved spot for quick food pickup like some of the other restaurants had. Once inside, 2 employees were at the hostess desk but they told me I had to go into the (crowded) bar to pick up my order. Ive had both of my COVID vaccines but in this time of increased social distancing, Branchwater could have done better to make the carryout experience safer and more comfortable.
Been a few times. Food is good. Appetizer usually great. I recommend.I would have to say the cocktails from the menu are a little too ambitious and as a result taste pretty bad. We have tried all of them (recently). We sent the strawberry harvest back. It was really gross. I was disappointed to be charged for it considering how bad it was. The mix of cocktail ingredients are absurd nowadays so I dont entirely blame them for trying but I dont think Id order cocktails there again. Beer and wine menus are decent, pretty standard.
The steak wasnt cooked to the requested temp. Requested Medium, however, the steak was cooked medium rare. The asparagus was flavorful, but nothing else was notably great. The atmosphere is quite nice. Parking is a challenge. We went round and round about 6pm on a Friday and found a park about 10 mins after we arrived.
We arrived at the bar at 4:30 before the restaurant was open at 5:00, but we were able to order dinner anyway. My wife ordered crab cakes which she raved about and I ordered grilled scallops that were excellent but had a little grit in them. If it werent for the grit everything was perfect and I would give them five stars. The service, atmosphere, music, and everything was great and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend Branchwater.
Six for a business dinner on a week night. Great wait staff. Jeanie and Alli took great care of us and really livened up the atmosphere, a welcome change. The food was delicious and well explained. The brussell sprouts are the bomb!! Everything showed up as ordered, no send backs. I will return for business or pleasure.
The service and the food was outstanding, however the Ambiance is a little noisy for a liking. As far as Good Eats go for this area its really really hard to go wrong. The drink menu is also very good. An excellent selection of cocktails and food. My wife would recommend the rose petal martini. I definitely think its worth it. Give it a try.
My husband and I went for Valentines dinner. The first thing to happen was when I made the reservation on Open Table I requested standard seating, not outdoor. The hostess led us to the outdoor patio and told us it was considered standard seating. On the way out, we were told by a different hostess our reservation showed outside seating (see pic attached). So I then proceeded to freeze during our meal as I did not think I would have to wear a coat to eat dinner. Second complaint, no where on their website did it say a set menu, no substitutions or that some items would not be available. We love their pretzel but it was not on the special menu. Third, I ordered scallops that were very much overcooked and very rubbery - that was my main entree and I ate nothing else it was plated with as they are not foods I like to eat. Last complaint, my husband got the mixed grill, and there was barely any lamb, charred steak that was burnt on the outside and fairly pink on the inside, and his lobster tasted very funny. The only highlight of the evening was the dessert (hummingbird cake and chocolate gateaux). Its sad when you pay $130 for a meal and still have to eat something else at home. Very disappointed as this was one of our top picks to go to for good food.
The goat cheese appetizer was pretty good. The lobster bisque was a 4. My husband loved his bread pudding.. The bone in ribeye “special” (not on the menu) was delicious... but do you think our waiter could have told us it was going to cost us $70.00? That was more than double any other menu item. The bill came and the yum turned into yikes.
We had dinner last night and all four of us were absolutely very pleased. We just walked in, no reservations, and sat down and a waiter came to ask us if we would like a drink within 5 minutes .We had chicken cutlets, the seafood special for that night, pork chops and the Hanger steak. We could not believe that it all was top shelf!!!We will be going back many times since this was our first visit
I’ve reached “regular” status here when the bartender remembered mine and my husbands drink order as soon as we sat down. We try to come at least once every couple of weeks. The service is always great. We haven’t had a bad meal here. Our top choice is always the bacon marinated beef tenderloin filet. Perfection! Highly recommend this wonderful place.
We have been sadly disappointed the past couple of times we have been to Branchwater. The food hasnt been up to their usual standard and the service has been slow. Maybe this lack of quality has to do with Covid...we miss going to Branchwater and have enjoyed it in the past.
Ordered take out tonight and let me just tell you, it. was. amazing!! I got the salmon, which was cooked to per-fec-tion!! The Brussel sprouts were spectacular! My husband got the burger with bacon and bri and I’m pretty sure he inhaled it; I’m still questioning rather or not he actually ate it, or gave it to our dog-that’s how quickly it left his plate. Anyway, it was amazing. You won’t be disappointed.
Very pleased with our first visit to Branchater. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic! It lived up to its glowing reviews and our expectations.I reserve the 5th star, however, for my next visit.Atmosphere is very important to my husband and I, and we had an early dinner... pre crowd.I know that this establishment is popular and in a very popular location. While we found the atmosphere on this trip to be pleasant, I think this may me a noisy dining experience when the restaurant is full.
Food is excellent, complements to the chef. The experience, however, not so much. Unfriendly hostess, indifferent waiter kinda spoils the fun. When you walk in a restaurant and you feel like youre being an inconvenience, thats a problem. Kitchen does their part, you folks in front need to do yours.
Katlin our server was absolutely fantastic. I read about the horrible service but katlin was very nice and gave us a nice night out. The food was great we had the brussel sprouts which were amazing! We reserved our table via the open table app and didnt have any issues on a Friday night. The atmosphere is a little loud but no complaints.
I am just bewildered by all the good reviews. We have been 3 or 4 times, just trying to give it another chance or because friends wanted to go, and we were disappointed.every.time. We’ve ordered different things and the taste of everything we have tried was so very bland. The price for the quality is outrageous. I feel like everything I have tried there, I can make better at home. Vickery Village overall is amazing so I do hate that we can’t enjoy Branchwater or recommend this place to anyone.
Big dreams in a small town. The prices, scenery and overall character would have you feeling like youre in the Big City. The food quality is definitely comparable and very well thought out. The service could definitely use some touching up and a few vets to help increase the learning quality, timing and revenue driving needs. Overall great experience and I look forward to returning.
Had dinner with friends at the restaurant last night and overall quite good. However, I ordered a glass of a nice Chardonnay. Looking at the prices per glass on the menu they were in the 10-12$ range which is what I was expecting to pay. When I received my bill, I discovered that I was given a $20 glass of wine. I would expect the waitress to inform me of the price of this wine before serving. Shame on me for not asking the price but shame on the waitress and the restaurant for allowing this to happen. It should be part of their server training to ensure that there are no surprises on pricing, particularly wine and cocktails. I left the restaurant feeling as though I had been taken advantage of.
I know this owner and his lovely wife.tod Hogan made a great career in the restaurant buisness .from graduating the cordon blue to becoming a chef owner.his wife is the pillar of the family and they have a great bunch of kids.try this place and you will see the level of professionalism and delicius food.
Overpriced. Our date night dinner was over $100 including the tip. A wedge salad with about 3 1/2 ounces of steak was $25? My husband had surf and turf, one lobster tail (VERY SMALL) cut in 1/2? Not taking away from the taste of the food, which is good but the prices here are too much for what you receive. I normally get another meal out of any restaurant dinner/lunch that I purchase. This is not the case from here. Atmosphere is nice but not worth what you paid for. We are still looking for that go-to place for the two of us (not bar food) as the kids are getting older and doing things with friends, working, etc. One and done.
My new favorite wine spot. Was invited by a regular client and I will be back. They have achieved the simple elegance many strive for and have thrown in a creative positive energy vibe. You will just feel good being there. Check out their website or find them through Vickery Village site. #romantic #reliable #fave restaurants #greatplacetoclosethedeal #bizorpersonal
Wonderful restaurant. Looking for seafood brought this up as a possible choice for us. They do much more than seafood as there were options for steaks and burgers too. We visited earlier this evening and it wasnt very busy. We were able to be seated quickly and we were given a very cozy booth with just enough privacy to enjoy ourselves as if we were the only guests at the time.We ordered the pan sears brussel sprouts with bacon & a maple bacon vinaigrette for an appetizer. I wish the brussel sprouts tasted like that when I was a kid. It had a wonderful salty & sweet flavor combination along with a great crispy and tender texture. I ordered the BLT salad and added chicken to make it an entree portion. The blue cheese dressing was robust and mouth watering and played very well with the bacon, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes in the rest of the salad. The add-on chicken was blackened and had a great punch of flavor on its own. The wife had a caesar side salad and the seared scallops with risotto. She was very happy with her meal choices as well. We will definitely come back again!
Great, slightly upscale spot in an area rather deserted otherwise (I mean theres other placed to eat, but nowhere like this).Food was spot on, my steak (which I rarely eat away from home for whatever reason) was great as were the wifes crab cakes. Although a small portion (really suitable size for the type of restaurant) the chocolate gateau was worth the calories.Beer list was acceptable, my only issue was how long we had to wait before being seen by our server, but it was a busy night so no harm, no foul.
We are new in the area and decided to go to this restaurant after working out at the gym LOL. We have been to other restaurants at Vickery Village and really love the atmosphere! Our server Jeanie was awesome! Very professional but also very friendly We both enjoyed our dinner and also she told us about the special which was martinis 5 dollars on Tuesday! I felt like I was cheating on my wine but she said there is a special on wine Mondays half off bottles and Wednesday half off on glasses. I do wish they offered French Chardonnay but I know I am in the south!! They do have Pinot Grigio though and that’s fine. They have actually a large wine menu. I would definitely recommend going by here the chef is awesome I think he is kind of famous! It is a little upscale but very cozy. I would definitely go by there even if it is for appetizers because actually they have a famous brussels sprouts appetizer That will change your mind on Brussels sprouts!
I did not like waiting 30 minutes on a table when they had empty tables. I dont think the hostess were doing that good of a job. Now these empty tables were the same ones that were empty after we had been there for hour an half. Food was over priced for the portion size. Service was just ok. Been there, done that, want be back.
Excellent appetizers and entrees, particularly the roasted brussel sprouts and the dijon-crusted salmon. The dessert offerings also proved unique, including the Molten Gateaux and the Deep Dish Key Lime Pie. My family enjoyed our initial visit to Branchwater and look forward to returning soon.
Tried Branchwater last night for first time. Nice building and location. Quickly seated with our reservation. Did not take long to notice this place is L O U D. V E R Y. L O U D. T O O. L O U D. (We were not even sitted anywhere near or close to the bar...this was the main dining room when you walk in). Recommendation: Install sound absorbing material ASAP (Tapestries on wall, tapastries hanging from the high ceiling, carpets on floors, draperies around window....just do something to absord the loud clang and chatter noise).Jeane waited on us and she was lovely and very nice. The wine we picked on the menu was not available but they had a substitute which was not on the menu. It was fine and we enjoyed it. The Brie Cheese was interesting but we were very surprised to learn when eatting it had gorgenzola cheese inside which my wife cannot stand...something we questioned even before ordering....we educated Jeane afterwards (I ate it though and enjoyed it).I had the pork chop which was excellent (tender, moist and very tasty). I would recommend that any pork eater. My wife had the Veal Meatballs with Gnocci and she enjoyed that and took half home. The veal meatballs were very light and tasty (as opposed to a dense golf ball at other places). We skipped dessert because the noise in the dining room was getting raucous and annoying from the other tables.
What a terrific restaurant tucked away in Vickery Village in Cumming, GA! They have some unusual selections of wine and beer, such as a wine called The Prisoner Blindfolded and a specially brewed Branchwater IPA beer. The menu has a lot of options that includes assorted cuts of steak and seafood. Bob had the rack of lamb that he said was probably the best hes ever had. They did not have mint sauce to go with it, but the chef/owner, Todd Hogan, said next time we come to call him in advance and he will make it especially for Bob. For starters we shared a charcuterie platter which was a mix of meats and some of the best cheese Ive ever had. Its five star dining in a casual atmosphere. Our server was Julie, a fun and friendly lady who looked after us very well. No need to dress up here, just come hungry for the food. Everything is cooked to order so be patient, its worth the wait.
Celebrating tonight with my best friend and wife of 14 years! I couldnt think of a bether way to celebrate than at Branchwater!!!! Outstanding food, superb service, great atmosphere and delicious drinks! The Ribeye with a Branchwater blackberry lemonade is hard to beat. If you havent been here yet and you live in the area what the heck are you waiting for?!!
Hilarious to come here and see middle class folks acting wealthy with the fake blond chubby moms with fake LV purses. They think a $600k home means your rich while it’s actually middle class. West Forsyth people like to pretend they have money, but they just don’t know they’re middle class and it’s fun to watch. The women that hang out in this area are a joke and walk around with their nose in the air. You’re middle class folks and you would be lower middle class in many areas of the country. Rude people fill this area.

2022-01-22Excellent food, service and ambiance! I sat in the bar area Friday night to hear the live music (She was AMAZING!) We ordered a Branchwater Burger, which was delicious, juicy, perfectly cooked with a slight smokey after taste, and topped with pimento cheese. Whats not to love?! We also had the brussels sprouts with house cured bacon and maple vinegarette. If this item is on a menu where Im dining, Im ordering it. As many variations on this dish as Ive had, theirs is by far my favorite, with crispy outer leaves and a soft middle. The balsamic flavour was just subtle enough to enhance the taste without overwhelming. And best of all: the bacon was actually lardons - those salty savory little bites of french deliciousness that provided the dish its richness and flavor. Pretty big plate so be prepared to share. Lastly, we had the pimento cheese deviled eggs. The plate comes with 4 halves that were fresh tasting and although I had to fight the urge to add a sprinkling of salt, would have done Paula Deen proud. Needless to say, Ill be back.

2022-04-08Trying out local restaurants…The table settings and environment started for a good experience, and that was the peak of the experience. The brussel sprouts were over charred leaving little of the hearts to eat and carry flavor. The tenderloin grill marks were saturated with ash and debris. This makes me question the frequency of grill cleaning and interrupts flavors. The vegetables carried a texture similar to Steam Fresh vegetables with little to no seasoning.Unfortunately, our particular server came across as “inconvenienced” that we were there, with no greeting and introduction. All meals came out at different times as well.

2022-06-11This restaurant was amazing! Everything was fantastic, from the appetizers to the dessert. Our waitress Rachel was so attentive and the service was quick. It was a bit dimly lit and loud with the bar and live music later in the evening, but it looked like there were other seating options that were better lit. We had a wonderful experience and will be back! Just keep in mind the noise level later in the evening if you are sensitive to that.

2021-08-29The food was ok. I didnt like the ranch or BBQ sauce. Not a fan how my whole meal was touching. The calamari is pretty good. My wife had shrimp and she said they were good. The service was average.

2022-03-27Very enjoyable atmosphere with a nice jazz oriented music playing. The flounder dish was exceptional, however could have been served hotter. The dessert was just ok. Service was average and could have been better. Not sure if I would return.

2022-02-15First timer, and well worth every penny! I am by far extremely picky as to how my filet is cooked, the waiter clearly made sure the chef knew exactly how I wanted it cooked. It was superb! I also was able to adjust my sides to anything that was offered on the menu. My husband had the Lamb Shank and it was out of this world, tender and full of flavor! We will be back for sure! Take a chance on a great meal and excellent service, highly recommend this place!

2022-05-22Was visiting from out of town and my husband and I wanted to go to a nice steakhouse before we went back home. We got the scallops and a ribeye which was fantastic. However the mood was dampened when the ceiling started leaking all over our entire meal. Bartenders took care of the problem and we’re very accommodating. Service was great and food was nice. Just expected more from such a nice establishment so we were disappointed.

2022-03-28We love Branchwater….it’s definitely the best restaurant in Vickery. Their food and drinks are top notch and their environment and service is fantastic.Liz such a great waitress and is always a joy when we get her. I think she would make an excellent bartender as well.

2021-09-18Had the hanger steak with Yukon potatoes and seasonal veggies. It was delicious and perfectlyCooked. We had the Brussel sprout appetizer, jalapeño poppers and egg rolls all fantastic. Was hoping for a bit more ambiance and it was way too kid to have nice conversation. But the food was awesome and I would def come back soon!
