Today at my optometrist I felt that I was the only patient. Upon entering the office I was greeted with smiles and lots “good mornings”. That really made my day. The technician took really good care when putting me through all the test I go through. Finally Dr Davison as always takes good care of me. She speaks to me language so that I understand and she answers my questions and makes sure I understand. I love coming to my optometrist and her staff.
I love the fact that Dr. JANELLE is very gentle and patient. She let me know exactly what each procedure was and what it do and why. And the entire staff is very welcoming. For someone like me who has anxiety attacks when it comes to Doctors. I felt comfortable the entire time.
From check-in, exam and checking out, A+ service. Dr. Janelle is very knowledgeable, professional and personal at the same time. My daughter is excited about her upcoming appointment as well! I absolutely love everything about The Brilliant Eyes Vision Center! My eye exam and Contact Lenses consult was a great experience. Dr. Davisons knowledge and care for the vision of her clients is wonderful. I love the fact that she is knowledgeable about natural remedies for eye care. Her bedside manner as a physician is refreshing. Her Assistants were a delight and great at assisting me with my eyewear sections.
Excellent, clean and professional. Dr. Janelle and her staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I had an appt with another optometrist, and the lack of professionalism just walking in was astounding. I called Dr. Janelles office and got an appt same day and was in and out in less than an hour. I highly recommend her for your eye care needs.
My first visit with Dr. Davison and her staff was stellar. My dry eye exam was thorough with each test being explained so that I can have a clear understanding and know what to expect. Dr. Davison spent time showing the scans and showing diagrams to explain the type of dry eye I have and gave a detailed treatment plan. I feel more at ease about the condition and hopeful for long-term relief.
Dr. Davison is amazing!!!! She is very thorough and thoughtful and really listens to your needs. I have suffered with dry eyes for years. I started her dry eye treatment to eliminate the effects a few months ago, and the results have been incredible. I love how much my vision has improved.
Love it here. They have the best selection of frames that you wont find at your regular optometrist office. Dr. Janelle is awesome and is complimented well by her staff of great individuals. Will forever be returning.
Dr Davison was very thorough with my eye exam and quickly identified my issue and explained the situation in a clear concise manner that was understandable. Great place for annuals and learning more about your eyes to protect them.I do wish the pupillary measurement was taken regardless of purchasing frames from them. Work provides a pair, yet I need to schedule another day to visit and get this measurement. I was a new customer and plan to stay.

Not only are they king and professional but they’re punctual as well.Dr. Davison is a knowledgeable optometrist who works with you to help find the best solution that will work with your situation. I was having a hard time finding contacts that worked for me. This is my second year as a patient of Dr. Davison and she is still just as wonderful as when I met her. I have double astigmatism and I work with computers, so my eyes are a problem for me without glasses. I’ve always had to deal with eye doctors who constantly try to sell me things and they aren’t concerned with the progression of my eye health. Dr. Davison is the opposite - she is primarily concerned with her patients and our quality of life, and she provides very personalized care from beginning to end, every appointment. Her assistants provide comfort with their easy conversation and they conduct triage and health checks expediently at the same time. The staff is always friendly and patient with me as they suggest my options to fulfill my prescription, which is available immediately following my appointments, through Dr. Davison’s patient portal. I could write a book here but I will save that for next year’s review. Thank you Brilliant Eyes!

I went to see Dr Janelle after a precious eye doctor has over corrected my nearsightedness assuming that at my age I must need adjustment to see close up. Dr Janelle tested my eyes, explained exactly what she was doing and what to look out for, and made sure that I could see distances clearly for driving. I really appreciated her patience and thoroughness.

Dr Davison is great! I had some debris trapped in my eye and she was able to get me in same day and painlessly removed the object. She did a great job of explaining everything along the way and made me feel very welcome. I will return to her anytime I have an eye issue in the future!
I scheduled an emergency appointment for an eye injury. Luckily Dr. Davison was able to get me in quickly and had friendly staff. They listened and handled me with such great care. Dr. Davison was gentle and explained every step, the importance and really took her time during the examination. I am so thankful for quality eye care so close to home.

I was happy to get a quick appointment.The appointment was easy to schedule. You can go to their website and schedule online. You can do all of your documentation via online so its very easy when you get there you dont have to fill out any paperwork. The doctors office is nice and cozy and the staff is very friendly. Dr Janelle is very friendly also and really fast it wasnt a rude In-N-Out fast, but it was a good fast where I was in and out and I was able to get back on my way to work. She was very informative on my eye health answered all of my questions and also gave me a pep talk about getting my health overall together and how my overall health such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol all affect my eye health. So, today I put on my calendar to reschedule my eye appointments every year and I will be back.
The customer service is great! Dr. Davison is a awesome optometrist. She is very thorough in explaining any issues you may have with your eyes. Is it fair to say an appointment with Dr. Jannelle felt more like I was taking a spa day than going to the eye doctor? I dont know about you but my past optometrist appointments were in some pretty lack luster, uptight environments that didnt make me feel inspired. I had an appointment with Dr. Janelle today, and wow, my world is changed! From the time I made an appointment online, to the text confirmation and check in, to the COVID safety they had in play, I felt like it was a privilege to get my eyes checked! Everyone was friendly and I felt like I was important stepping into this beautifully decorated boutique. Even when I was told I need frames, I was kind of excited because the selection was AMAZING. Not only did I get a comfortable appointment, I got to shop too! Bonus! Hands down the highlight of my day, I cant wait to return to pick up my new specs!Oh I guess I should also mention how thorough Dr. Janelle and the team were, they took the time to explain everything and answer my questions. Dr. Janelle educated me on my condition that was easy to understand and kept me informed. And you can tell not only she is knowledgeable, she cares about my eyes and my future eye health. It will be my treat to return for annual exams here.

The staff was helpful and professional, and Dr. Janelle made me feel comfortable and was very attentive; she’s a great listener and also takes the time to explain what she sees before advising you, which I always find to be very helpful to ensure I understand what’s going on with me. I read about Dr. Janelle Davidson online and called to make an appointment. I am happy to say that this was one of the most informative eye consultations that I have experienced. The eye exam was thorough as was the discussion surrounding my exam. We are new patients and found Dr. Davison to be extremely knowledgeable. She does not rush and makes sure you understand the condition of your eyes - whether excellent or not so excellent. Her check in is easy. It was very clean. Staff was pleasant. Def our new home for vision care.Appointment times are convenient. Parking is free. Highly recommend for all families, especially Black and Latino.
Great eye doctor!! Dr. Davison took a ton of time to teach and explain with me- something I really appreciate from doctors. She also looks at overall eye health and wellness, not just my glasses prescription. Staff at the office are excellent - from the check in support to the retail side.

Sadly not a brilliant experience for me.Dr. Janelle was great. She seems very knowledgeable and I appreciated the information she provided. All in all the exam was a pleasant experience and elevated my review to two stars instead of one.The issues I had started after the exam when the staff realized I didnt intend to purchase glasses from them that day. The woman I spoke to was very flippant and rude. I was able to get a copy of my prescription, only to find that Brilliant Eyes charges a substantial fee to receive your PD (pupillary distance)! There is also a lovely little note at the bottom of the prescription about how PD isnt required and how they wont provide anything beyond what they are absolutely required to for orders that are filled outside of their location. I personally needed this information to special order prescription safety glasses for my laboratory job, a service which Brilliant Eyes does not offer. Youd think theyd be a bit more accommodating in this case.I have NEVER encountered this at any other optometrist, and it was a huge turnoff for me. Ive never had an issue obtaining my glasses prescription anywhere else.They have a very small selection of frames/styles available and a pretty long turnaround time to receive your new frames and lenses, so I wish there had been a little less rudeness about the whole thing. I understand that selling glasses is probably a big part of their business, but they should at least have some sympathy and understanding for people who need a quicker turnaround time (personally I had broken my glasses and would rather not wait a few weeks for new ones.)I ended up getting new frames and lenses elsewhere with a free PD measurement included.

This was my first visit to Brilliant Eyes. My son needed an appointment and my normal doctor’s practice had not reopen yet due to COVID. I selected initially because of location to my home but soon realized the office had relocated. The communication was awesome. I prefer digital communications so the ability to get text messages, completing questions from my phone, and sending pics of my ID card was amazing. The protocols followed to ensure safety were on point. The staff was pleasant and went the extra mile when my HSA card didn’t seem to work (my fault - it wasn’t activated) and they were very patient. The doctor was very knowledgeable and when I spoke about my son’s history with his vision she was very attentive. What she said was in line with commentary I had received from his vision therapist. I loved her style of educating us on the health of his eye and how he will experience things due to his astigmatism. Overall a great experience!
What an extremely professional practice. The Dr. explained everything that happening with my eyes. Usually I just receive and accept the numbers, but Dr. Janelle took time to explain to me what thy meant and what practical steps I can take to protect my eyes. I was thoroughly impressed with her bedside manner.Aside from her, Tabitha too was professional and detailed when explaining the different options for my frames, pricing etc.I will definitely trust the care of my eyes to Brilliant Eyes going forward.

I enjoyed my experience at Brilliant Eyes. I live nearby and have seen it many times. I finally made an appointment and Im glad I did. Everything was sterilized prior to and after usage. All processes were explained for better understanding. I was told what to do to keep my eyes healthy and told when I should come back for future visits. The only feedback ilike to share is the forms needed to fill out prior to your appointment. I received a text to complete this paperwork literally 16 minutes before my appointment. I just moved to Smyrna from California and was looking for a place to get my eye exam and Brilliant Eyes came up In a vision care insurance site and since it was close to me I called. The staff were so helpful I made an appointment. I am so glad I did. The entire experience was flawless. The staff were excellent and the doctor was no different. Would highly suggest this place!!
Dr. Janelle was amazing with both my son and I. She took her time, was VERY thorough and maintained a very safe practice during these tough times! I do NOT recommend this location. They are in it for money and the goal is to EXTRACT money. Due to their incomplete services, I had to look elsewhere to get the proper measurements (which required paying another provider for services I should have received at this office). They denied me said service because I did not wish to purchase glasses/lenses from them (granted - their inventory is extremely limited and overpriced in my opinion, so naturally - I looked elsewhere for options). It was my first and last visit to this facility. Do yourselves (and your pockets) a favor and avoid at all costs.

I was looking for a black owned businesses and stumbled across this gem! I was treated like family and the doctor updated me on all things concerning my eyes and the health of my eyes. She updated me on the data/stats and risks for African Americans and eye diseases and patterns. The latest technology was used and present. The freshest glasses were available and the customer service was superb! A forever home for my family of 5. I love small black businesses!!

My experience with this particular Optometrist was to my satisfaction. Dr. Davidson was very informative and gave me the most optimal choice as to how I needed to proceed. You cant trust just anyone with your eyes...but I trust Dr. Davison with mine! She and her staff are professionals and treat each patient as if you are the only patient. You are not rushed, questions are welcome and encouraged. Although I dont wear glasses, the selection makes me wish I did! Plus she gives back through her non-profit which mentors girls interested in health professions. Five stars arent enough!

This place was lovely and the doctor is great. It was hard to find a place in network that saw kids as young as my 4-year-old. The few that did had terrible ratings, so bad I wouldnt have felt good about taking my kiddo. But this one had good reviews so I booked my appointment. That they have some weekend hours even if I had to wait a bit, is awesome for a working mom.The doctor is great. So patient and she works really hard to get a good read. The staff was also very sweet. I Did feel good about putting my child in their hands.The only reason I couldnt give 5 stars is glasses are too expensive if you dont have insurance. We got our main pair here, but I will need to go elsewhere for any backup or replacement pairs.
The new Smyrna location is beautiful!! The office staff was very friendly, all had on masks, and the little rubber finger thingys to sign your name was genius! Dr. Davison is always professional, thorough, and very patient with my girls. Highly recommended office and will continue to be a patient as long as she is around!!

I was very happy with the customer service from the admin person that assisted with my appointment, the front end person when I came in the door, the specialist that conducted the preliminary check, and especially the doctor. Everyone was friendly and very professional. My wife told me about this practice and she did not exaggerate one iota!

We have been going to brilliant eyes for several years and each time we go our experience improves; which I didn’t think would be possible. I had a hard time finding an eye doctor who was patient enough to handle my son who has special needs. We went to several offices who settled for whatever they could get instead of trying to perform a true vision screening. Dr. Janelle is so patient and takes the time to answer any questions prior to the end of the office visit. She pays attention to every detail and does not rush or make you feel discouraged if the appointment begins to be overwhelming. I appreciate her for making my sons life easier!

This was my first experience with my 9yo having her eyes examined and this was a wonderful experience. Dr. Janelle was very informative and understanding when explaining my daughter’s eye health and the care needed going forward. I am happy that this physician was referred to me by my pediatrician and I will bring my other daughters here for the same quality of care.
Dr. Janelle has literally been life changing! Before I saw her I was constantly experiencing problems with dry eye syndrome and was always prescribed the same medication that only put a bandaid on the problem. She broke down the science behind dry eye and was able to pinpoint the source of my issues. To top it off she and her staff have been a pleasure to work with during this journey of healing.
The best of the best!! Dr. Davison is amazing and so is her staff. My daughter and I have been seeing Dr. Davison since 2013 and I’ve seen several different places and nothing beats Dr. Davison. If you want someone to be attentive listening to you and truly care about what’s going on and your needs, you need to go see Dr. Davison.
My kids and I have come to this eye Doctor for over 7 years and have always had good service. That is until last week when my mom had to end up taking my daughter for her exam for me. My mom said the Eye Doctor was very polite, but the lady at the front desk was very rude. My mom and daughter asked for the prescription and asked for the PD from the front desk and was provide nothing but rudeness. She stated with an attitude to my 13 year old daughter and mom that they would not give the PD. When my daughter contacted me I had explained to her that I was given the PD before...she then stated that the policy has changed and then added that legally they can’t make her give them the information. I have never had any problems over the 8 plus years, but just this incident has given me a bad vibe. Customer Service is very important. Delivery is very important.
Friendly, cared about my eye health, fun time! very stylish frames. I have Keratoconus, & have struggled for decades. this was the best experience I have ever had at an eye dr. the first time I have left an eye dr & wasn’t in tears feeling frustrated & hopeless. truly the best experience!
I took my 3 year old son to get his eyes checked due his pediatrician said he has a slight astigmatism. They were so friendly and patient with my hyper son who was in need of a nap. Dr. Janelle was awesome. She was thorough and explained all the tests and educated my husband and I about our sons eyesight. He didn’t end up needing glasses at this time but we definitely come back for our annual check ups!

No refund on a product that was suggested for me. I paid $43 for a product that seriously irritated both my eyes and was told I must have a sensitivity to it, but oops no refund.
Im new to the area and looking for an optometrist. Called this place and had to navigate a multi-layered, automated menu right off the bat. Finally, a person (I presume) picked up but didnt say anything. I was immediately put on hold. Waited on hold for 5 minutes and finally hung up.I dont recommend you bother taking your business here!
I brought my 3 year old daughter here today for the first time, and I am extremely happy I did. The staff is so pleasant and helpful. Dr. Janelle is amazing. Update: I am so sad that Brilliant eyes will no longer accept my daughters insurance. Very disappointing.

Totally awful service here. My partner went here in January, they gave us the wrong prescription for contacts AND a wrong trial pair. Despite him telling them he couldnt see out of them, they said he would adjust. Hes been wearing contacts for years and has never had this problem.We called back later and they claimed they made a mistake and handed out the wrong prescription AND notated it incorrectly in their file?Further, upon trying to contact them, they have said to just use his old prescription and thats what their error was...? Completely incompetent.Also, their office is always closed, despite what their hours say -- theres no way to reach a human (during their opening hours) and they forward you to an unaffiliated eye center who has no idea why Brilliant Eyes used their information to forward their calls in the first place.Totally incompetent. Id rather have gone to Walmart.

First just let me say I’ve worn glasses all my life and I was super excited when I saw Dr. Davidson is an African-American woman. She was very informative, straight forward & even switched my contact brand which I’ve been using since 2007. She’s amazing! My issue is with the billing process. I paid for my contact fitting out of pocket. About a week later I go online to order glasses & my insurance isn’t being applied. I then try to get contacts thinking they would be cheaper and 100% covered. I discovered I don’t have anymore benefits to use for the year. I call my insurance to be told the office not only billed me out of pocket but also billed my insurance. I called on a Monday. Never got a call back. Called again and was told 48 hours. No call. My insurance called today to get the charges reversed & was told they would have to investigate. I called the office again & was told I would get a call back shortly. They still haven’t called & have closed for today. So while they’re holding up my benefits I can’t get contacts or glasses. Sadly fixing this issue doesn’t seem to be a priority.
I visited today for the first time. I found the good doctor to be patient, caring, informative and ready to answer any of the questions asked. Her staff was amazingly pleasant and helpful. Another plus, for me was the smooth jazz selection of music,🎺 🎵🎶as opposed to elevator music! 💯🤗😎👀
Today was my second eye exam with Brilliant Eyes. Im very satisfied with Dr. Davison and her staff.. They are proficient and knowledgeable in taking care of patients. They also have a great selection of eyeware. Hand claps to you all for providing excellent service.
I went today for the first time and really liked the doctor, she was personable and knowledgeable. The office staff was all very friendly. The only thing that was kind of strange to me was the way they had you move to different stations and then sit back in the lobby to dilate, and then back to the chair to be checked later. I get that this was probably to be able to see more patients while dilating, however, the waiting room was very bright and a little disorienting for dilation. Just a suggestion, maybe have a small dim lit spot in the back with a few chairs, for anybody having their eyes dilated.
Kind of bummed we will be switching eye doctors. This was the only eye doc my son had ever seen. He was 9 & is now 15.I have not reached a human when calling since I dont know when. We had an appt 2wks ago that was made back in January or February. But no one confirmed & when I called to confirm the message said the office was closed during those hours.This was not the first clerical issue Ive had with this practice. With the practice moving & growing, I cant imagine ...Anyway, Im welcoming the change. I just wanted to share, because if they dont know, they cant make the necessary adjustments.Someone should seriously be answering the phones, though.....*Interesting response.. clearly, the owner did not read the comment. Bc a pediatric doctor is not what we were looking for.*
I see Dr. Davidson every annual visit and she is ABSOLUTELY amazing! The staff is very nice and the environment is always very clean and cozy. They even have a smal play area which my son absolutely loved. Dr. Davidson is very knowledgeable and shes honest. My mom accompanied me on my last visit and said she thinks shes found a new eye doctor lol
Great place for your vision needs. The staff is professional and very customer oriented. My exam was first rate, and the prices for eyeware is very competitive with the big box places. This practice is in my community, which is a plus. I highly recommend this practice for your family eye care needs.

Of all the vision services I have had in my life, this one was the most thorough, pleasant, and comprehensive exam I have ever had. Dr. Davison went out of her way to help me understand the condition of my eyes. They also have a great selection of designer frames making the going to have to wear glasses all the time experience much more bearable (dare I even say exciting)!
Dr. Davison is awesome. She is extremely thorough and answers all questions I may have. I never feel rushed. The facility is always neat and clean. I like that they have up to date technology that really gives a 3d view of whats going on in the back of your eyes. The staff is also amazing. Everyone is professional. I also loke that if I have an appointment at 8:10am, Im actually being taken to the back at 8:10am. They do not have me sitting in the waiting room forever. The glass selection is decent for women pretty boring for men. The glass are a little more pricey than other retail salers.

I was referred by a friend and I was very impressed with Brilliant Eye Vision Center and Dr. Davison. Staff is very courteous and professional. Eye exam was very thorough.
I really wanted to like this place after reading all the glowing reviews, but the bottom line for this place was money; not the customers needs!On 10/4, I went to the office with an outside prescription to purchase glasses. I dont have vision insurance and used my care credit card. I paid $413 for progressive glasses (my glasses have never been cheap). Anyway, I received a text on 10/17 to pick up my glasses. I picked them up on 10/18. They were loose when I tried them on, so the manager adjusted them and advised me to allow 14 days to adjust to the new prescription. Standard advice. I wore them last week (10/21-10/25). They kept sliding down, which made it hard to adjust to them, plus they were hurting one of my ears. Since they were a little smaller than my old ones, I decided to exchange the new frames for a bigger pair.I called the office Monday (10/28) and was told there would be a $50 restocking fee to exchange the frames, plus a percentage for the new lenses. I went in that afternoon to start the exchange process and found out it was not $50, but 50% OF THE TOTAL COST. Thats $206.50!!! I told the lady I didnt have another $200 to spend. I then asked about their refund policy....also 50% OF THE TOTAL COST. Ive been wearing glasses for 34 years and have never heard of such a shady policy, especially after one week of trying out new glasses. I asked her if she could print a copy of their policy because the receipt I was given at the time of purchase didnt contain any exchange/return information. She said yes then offered to have my glasses re-adjusted while she printed the copy. She went to the back and I heard her talking to someone. While she was gone, I found a copy of their exchange/return policy posted on the desk where you pick up your glasses stating a frame restyle would be completed for a $50 restocking fee plus 20% lens fee. Also there were NO RETURNS AFTER 14 DAYS! So I didnt really have 14 days to adjust to the new glasses before I was stuck with them, whether they worked or not. Anyway, she returned with a copy of that same policy and explained that a new policy went into effect last Wednesday, but since I purchased my glasses prior to the change, they would honor the old policy. We both did the calculation and came up with $112.60. I wasnt happy to pay more money, but I failed to do my research before shopping there. I just knew I would never buy glasses from them again.While looking for new frames, the manager (Harita) came out to adjust my glasses and inquired about the situation. She then had the gall to tell me if I exchanged the frames I would have to pay THE EXCHANGE FEE PLUS A 50% RETURN FEE! At that point, I was not only livid, but I was angry that she thought I was obviously stupid. I told her the amount the other lady and I calculated, but she kept trying to calculate a new fee. When I didnt give in, she finally asked the other lady. At that point I knew she was all about the money, and I no longer trusted that office. Since I still hadnt received my copy of the policies, I took a picture of the one on the desk.After a few minutes, the other lady (not the manager) returned and confirmed I would only have to pay an additional $112.60. I declined to go through with the exchange. I asked the manager for a copy of the exchange/return policy, but she refused to give me one, so I left.Tuesday (10/29), I decided to return the glasses before my 14 day period ended. Losing 50% of my money was better than losing 100% if the glasses still didnt work out. The manager was at the front the desk and heard my request. The first words out of her mouth were I believe shes outside her 14 day window, as if I wasnt standing right there! She confirmed I was in fact within the return window, then said she would contact the CFO, who would cut me a check in 7-10 days. I had to ask for proof that I was returning the glasses and the amount of my refund, which she wrote on a copy of my purchase invoice. I have never experienced anything like that before and regret ever going there!!!

I had to come write a review and I wasn’t even a patient here, but the customer service and care for my wife was phenomenal. Dr. Davison was extremely insightful on her profession and really great at explaining her reasonings behind what she was doing. As an observer it was really great to see and the staff was very friendly. I mean who else passes out snacks and mimosas because it’s the New Years weekend.

I have not been happy with my visits to Brilliant Eyes. The doctor is fantastic; she is polite and very easy to talk to. She is straight to the point and provides the best solution to the problem.My problem is usually with the rest of the staff.On my first visit, I scheduled an appointment for 2:30pm. I arrived early so I could check in and see the doctor at my appointment time, but the doors to the building were not even opened until 2:40pm and checking in took another 15-20 minutes. I saw the doctor and everything was fine, and they had to order trial contacts for me. Two weeks passed after my appointment, and still no one called. I had to call the office and leave voicemails multiple times during open hours to ask about trial contacts, and they called back and said that they were there.On my second visit, I ordered a year supply of contacts. Now, it has been almost two weeks and I still have not received a call. On their website, it says that they open at 8:00am. I called at 8:45 and it said they were closed. The same for 9am and 9:15am. This happened when I called about the trial contacts as well. I kept getting the answering machine saying the office was closed during their open hours. I left a message at 8:45am and no one has called back.I tried this office because it is closer than my usual office, but I have never had to wait more than three days for trial contacts or contacts to come in, especially not two weeks without any communication.
I recently had an appointment for an annual eye exam, and planned to get a new pair of glasses using my insurance.5 stars for the doctor - she was very thorough, looked at some additional views of my eyes that my previous doctor did not, talked to me in detail about my eye history and my possible future, and answered questions. The office also offers retinal imaging for $22, which is a great price. What was unexpected for me was that I got the retinal imaging but still needed dilation - that was a first for me.BUT, BUT - a big but - the eye shop of the office is deceptive and has bad business practices. 2 stars for the eye shop, which they get because they do have a good selection of fashionable, name brand and mid to high end frames. The two employees working the shop were helpful in trying to help me find frames and give opinions. The real problem is hidden upcharges and mandatory upgrades that they force on to you, and deceptive practices with this. After I picked my frames, they priced them out with our special sale, which is better than your insurance and with my insurance. The prices quoted didnt make sense to me. It was 80% higher than it should have been After I insisted, she printed out a breakdown of the cost. I had to look carefully at it to see all of the upcharges that I didnt want or shouldnt be there. They had priced the glasses with additional charges for blue light filtering coating, tier 2 anti reflective coating, a lens materials charge and a lens polishing charge, all in addition to the expected frame upcharge and lens co-pay. It took a lot of pressure from me for them to explain what a couple of those were for - and then I was told that most of them were mandatory. I specifically told the employee that I did not want the blue light filter, the tier 2 (thats a 3 level upgrade) coating, or a lens materials charge. The lens materials charge was supposedly for polycarbonate lens material - my insurance benefits covered plastic and standard polycarbonate lenses. The employee literally refused to give me the standard lenses and coatings that insurance covered. She said the office DID NOT OFFER that at all.When I told her I absolutely would not pay for these upcharges I didnt want, she said We like to say that if you want Walmart quality glasses, you can go to Walmart and get them. I still cannot believe she had the nerve to say this while I am sitting there holding a $340 pair of Dolce and Gabbana frames, ready to pay for them. I was incredibly offended and I told her so. I dont shop at Walmart, dont support their practices, and specifically chose Brilliant Eyes to support a small local business and community diversity. I thanked them for their time and walked out. I drove a few miles up the road to a large eyewear shop, selected a new pair of frames there, specified exactly what lenses and coatings I wanted, did NOT get charged a BS polishing fee, used my insurance and paid the extra costs, and was done. 90% less hassle and I still ended up with designer frames (Tiffany) for half the cost of Brilliant Eyes.I knew exactly what my insurance covered, what my copays are, and what additional costs to expect. I have had glasses for more than 25 years and have plenty of experience navigating the costs and insurance coverage. I see the name of their game - put on so many upcharges that it makes it more expensive to use insurance than pay out of pocket. As much as I liked the doctor, I will likely never be back to that office. I would prefer to keep driving all the way down to Ansley Park to go to a doctor that is not only just as good, but supports their practice with an eye shop that provides options and doesnt practice deceptive sales tactics.
Everyone person I encountered during my visit was very kind and professional. They have a great selection of frames to choose from. Dr. Janelle is amazing.

All of the staff was very helpful. Dr. Davison offered helpful solutions and I did not feel pressured to buy additional products. They have better prices for contacts and products than I have found online even! Scheduling is easy and simple online as well.

While the doctor & staff seemed professional & knowledgeable, they are so slow its disrespectful to peoples time & schedule. Further, the doctor is money hungry trying to push her partnered brands on clients. Ive worn glasses & contacts for 20 years lady. Further, the insane hoops I had to go through to get my prescriptions to my preferred eyeglass & contact vendors were insane, unreasonable, unnecessary, & required a significant amount of time & effort. Very dissapointing as I wanted to support, but I will not return.

2022-07-21I was able to schedule my appointment with no issues, enter my information with ease and show up. The office is nice, comfortable and very inviting. The staff is very professional and courteous and they know their business well. My eye exam was flawless and informative with attention to my eye care. I was also able to select a new pair of frames w/my new prescription. 2022-04-20I had an amazing experience from start to finish. Booking my appointment was super easy, the staff was friendly and inviting. It’s such a cute atmosphere the music playing is nice the vibe is chill. It was convenient to get a text with updates on when my frames were ready. I’ve made it my goal to find as many black owned businesses especially doctors etc in my area and support them. Finding this gem was a breath of fresh air and finding out the Dr. is from my home town (Detroit) was a major plus! I got an eye exam and purchased two pairs of glasses from her eyewear line. I am very pleased and look forward to seeing her again for my annual eye exam!

2022-04-07Dr. Janelle Davidson is absolutely amazing! I went in today for a routine eye exam. The communication prior to my exam was superb. I was able to upload documents online which minimized my time in the office. My wait time to see Dr. Janelle was five minutes. My exam was very thorough and she explained my results to me in easy to understand language. I felt very comfortable throughout my visit and actually look forward to my next appointment! You will not be disappointed with Dr. Janelle!!!

2022-04-08Dr. Janelle is simply amazing! My son and I trust her advice and appreciate her genuine concern for our eyes but also for us as people and more importantly, people of color. I’ve been wearing eyeglasses and contacts for the past 22 years and have been to only 4 or 5 eye care professionals during this time. She is by far my favorite and the only one I can identify with; black, female, professional, educated, respectful, appreciative and caring. I relocated 500 miles a year ago to another state and still seriously contemplate visiting her annually because I don’t believe I will ever receive the level of care she provides anywhere else. May she continue to bless the metro Atlanta community with her passion for optometry and people!

2022-04-08Dr. Janelle is truly a knowledgeable optometrist. She goes the extra mile to assure that my family’s eyesight is healthy in the present and future. She discusses long range plans for my son’s myopia management. She never rushes and is always very thorough. The doctor oh my goodness made me feel at ease with my concerns regarding my eyes. She too was extremely thorough and professional. I definitely recommend her as your new eye doctor.

Where others load their schedules and are rushed to see the next patient, Dr. Davidson takes the time to provide you with a thorough exam and answer any questions you have. Making appointments are easy and Dr. Davison is willing to answer all question and educate you on your vision health.
