What great brunch experience I had with Bulla this weekend. First of all, you had me at 3 dollar mimosa!!! Yes… 3 dollars!!!! Also got the 3 course brunch menu that had a little bit of everything. Some of the best breakfast pizza and desserts I’ve ever had. Our server Sydney was also super helpful with explaining the menu and answering any questions our table had. Overall, super awesome experience.
The crew behind the bar (Jeremy, Akema and Chris) and Phil - made another night at Bulla memorable and fun. The place is packed like usual but we felt like we were the only people in the joint! The service on POINT! As for the food - all absolutely incredible as usual.
Visited this restaurant with office colleagues and we ordered lot of food. I personally liked starters more than main meal. The best starter i liked was Queso Fundido. The second place for starter was for Patatas Baravas. For my main meal I ordered Grilled steak which was not upto par. My friends ordered burgers and they looked really good and they said that they liked it as well. Some friends order Salmon and they liked it too.For drinks I only ordered Lemonade which was just ok.Since few items were not upto expectations i rated it oj basis of that.
Solid tapas restaurant. Semi casual, semi upscale. Service was good-not-great, seemed like a pretty new staff. Tapas selection was nice, but nothing too surprising. Had patatas, ceviche, chorizo stuffed dates - all were solid, ceviche was really nice, other two were good. Coconut flan was delicious with the fresh passion fruit sorbet. Good happy hour options.
Great service, average food. Came here with a friend on a whim, and was really excited about trying it out, but it was just okay. The tapas weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either, they were just okay. The paella was overpriced, especially given that it wasn’t as big as I thought it would be and was also undercooked and didn’t have enough flavor (speaking as someone whose had real paella in Spain). What really added to the experience was the great service we got from Justice, she was so nice and amazing! I would maybe come back for their happy hour menu at the bar but probably not to dine.
First I have to begin by saying I actually like Bulla Gastro bar. In fact I’ve dined in several times before and each previous time the food came out in a timely manner. Maybe it was because we sat at the bar? Regardless it was the most disappointing experience. So I’m sad to write a negative review when I enjoy writing great ones.First off it was a very busy Tuesday night, full house! My date arrived before me and had been there for 15 mins. He had asked for a physical menu three times never got it.Once I arrived, and we changed spots things got a little better. Our bartender/ server put in our order and the first two dishes came out promptly. The pear pasta specialty was particularly a favorite. The bacon wrapped dates the bacon was burnt/ well done. However it was after this the experience turned, things started going down hill. Then the crème de la creme, the chicken paella order was never put in. This dish normally takes 20 mins. So thankful we ordered four tapas. The other two tapas plates we ordered were delayed and never arrived until we brought it to their attention. When our cheese board with the goat cheese came it was as expected, the garlic shrimp was good but nothing to write home about. All in all, it was the worst experience and I felt terrible for having recommended this place because of the paella and tapas. I also mentioned very good things about the food and customer service here. I felt like a fool and my friend probably thinks I don’t know what good food is when I actually used to be a professional restaurant reviewer. At the time The manager apologized and gave us complimentary drinks, which was kind. However our second round of drinks, his wasn’t bitter at all and mine was barely mixed. Please tell me my next experience will be normal and like the past.Last time I arranged a going away party, second to last brought a friend for the charcuterie and cheese, another time brought someone for their bday, and the first two times when I was introduced to Bulla w/ my friend Frank we had the paella!
Great bloody Mary!! Love the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant. The pork hash and eggs needed more salt but the poached egg helped alot. The calamari was perfectly fried. The octopus tapa was amazing!! We also ordered the garlic shrimp which simply tasty. Hubby ordered the steak and eggs. The eggs shouldve been cooked a few seconds more for the white to be fully cooked, steak overcooked but the chimichurri sauce saved it. Definitely want to come back
The food is amazing!!!! Omg you HAVE to go. I never order pasta, but Im so glad I did here! Everyone kept asking me what I ordered bc I was tearing it up! The lavender margarita was perfect. The lavender garnish really kicked it up a notch for me. Love this place. Cute bathroom and has patio AND upstairs seating. They are doing a murder mystery this weekend there.
Wanted a fun place in midtown Atlanta for someDelicious light bites. Bulla seemed like it fit the bill. It’s got a cool room, bar and vibe and large outside dining area, BUT I was very disappointed in the food. We ordered the kale salad which was literally drowning in dressing. We ordered several tapas dishes which were not good. I had the grilled steak which I ordered medium rare but was raw and tough like leather. The chicken croquettes were fried balls that were full of creamy curry with no chicken at all🤷♀️😳 like literally none. The salmon carpaccio and tuna tartare looked pale and old. And it took literally forever to get the check… we had to ask twice. I was visiting Atlanta and was very disappointed. Didn’t take photos of the food but oh well.
Bulla, a contemporary bar & restaurant located in Midtown ATL, features made-to-order sangrias & gin drinks, served alongside Spanish tapas. Ive been a few times, with friends for dinner and brunch but, this was my first lunch experience, shared with my Honey 🥰.Lunch features an appetizer and entree. We shared the ham croquettes and Papas Bravas. I had the chicken skewers and he had the Pealla of the day (steak). The food was slamming. We also enjoyed a margarita from the bar.If you enjoy spanish tapas I recommend highly, for brunch, lunch & dinner!

A fine eatery with top notch service. I’ve been here several times and each time impressed with their staff; friendly yet efficient. The food being small plates is the best part, one can try different plates and experience the Spanish flavors.Favs are Dates wrapped with bacon & Garlic Shrimp.
It was not bad food by any means, but it did not wow me as much as my first time at Barcelona wine bar. The food did come out quickly. Drinks were well prepared. Got a margarita, mojito, and Moscow mule, all done well. The atmosphere was absolutely great. Great for a few drinks and tapas, which is how its done in Spain. Great service. I would go again but not my first choice.
Great happy hour experience! Loved the cocktail menu options and price! Very warm aesthetic and vibe. Upscale high end with strong drinks. The food was scrumptious! The bulla burger was plump juicy and cooked to perfection. Service could’ve been better and hidden gems should be highlighted by servers not google. Great spot overall !!
Delicious happy hour tapas and seafood paella. First time having paella and I loved it.The bartenders were very friendly. The power had gone out for a couple minutes around the block and they reassured us that it has happened before and that the power will come back on soon.
I came in the other day and Phil was awesome! I got a tuna tartare and albondigas and hung out on the patio and had great conversation and service. The tartare was fresh and amazing and I was told everything’s made fresh from scratch. I’m definitely coming back with an appetite because the other tapas he was telling me about sound so good!
We had the loveliest experience at Bulla last night! The drinks were wonderful and our server, Bria, was even better. She warned us when we sat down that they were short staffed, but we never wouldve known! She checked in on us just the perfect amount for a tapas restaurant and we never felt rushed. I wouldnt say the food was too memorable, but the vibe, drinks, and service will definitely bring us back next time were in town!
Its a nice gastropub with a whole variety of Spanish dishes. The White staff was attended and professional. The drinks were good. I was a little disappointed in the paella. We got the full serving of the seafood chicken paella. It had a strange flavor and was very very oily. The other dishes looked fine.
Thank you 🙏🏾 Jalen for the invitation. Well worth the visit. I started off with the Cream of Butternut Squash, had such an unctuousness, flavorful well balanced rich creamy and savory. With this being my first appetizer/soup 🍲 I felt it should have been a smaller serving (personal opinion) with it being a heavy rich soup it wouldnt leave much room for rest of the meals. I ate half of the generous portion [8 oz].Moved on to the 5 oz Salmon, baby spinach ad chickpeas lemon 🍋 cream. The Salmon could have been hit with a spice or at least salt n pepper, rather flat with just the char taste. Forgot about the chickpeas found few of them kinda hidden under all the spinach, honestly I think it to be an afterthought didnt really do anything for the dish and the lemon cream definitely needed more lemon. Chef Marcel came out explained what happened with this particular dish was very polite and gracious took good care of Me.The other star for the day was the Shrimp Curry, beautifully balanced superbly flavorful, shrimp was over cooked but the seasoning and sauce well made up for it. I actually took the Salmon added into the sauce with some spinach 😋.Over all pleased and will definitely come back to try more dishes. Stepped away to the restroom upstairs to find a beautiful dining and view windows open for the gorgeous 73° weather which really would have been perfect setting to enjoyed lunch but it wasnt available, shame.
A couple times on a whim me and my husband with no reservation came to Bulla and was never busy .. but we always enjoyed the place .. so we decided to invite our friends . So we called two weeks ahead did a reservation and we kept telling the person who took the call we like to be seated out side . Even he did not promise but we knew at 5:30 pm reservation the restaurant will not even be busy. And yes it’s Saturday. We came a little early asked to be seated.. and they said we can’t because it’s booked .. for other parties .. when we where confused about how could you book to others and confirm and why not now for us .. they went got the managerthe whole area out side at least was 50 seats EMPTY. And they said it was booked for other reservation!! Then they called the manager who said they had a party of 15 people who live in the building and they always book that’s table .. we tried politely to convince the manager to accommodate us since no one is their and all the tables are empty.. and he kept saying the silliest excuses and was RUDE from the minute he came without even saying hello ..I told him why would you keep a table reserved for 15 people for 7:30 when we are here at 5:30 ready to be seated .. he said because I CANthen I said. ARE YOU SERIOUSHe replied .. no I am ( said his name ) which I did not catch because he was rude and being sarcastic..I can’t tell you how hard I tried with this man to help us take any table out side .. while the WHOLE area was empty .. literally the whole patio is empty .finally after my husband and all offered to take a table outside until any reservation come then we leave !!!!!! Imagine he made us rush our drinks.. rush our dinner.. got us all to wonder why he would be that RUDE and don’t want to seat us !!!! FYI .. we all have accents !!!! .. no one was rude to him ..no one was even loud . We all were trying to be seated .. at the end !! I told him he was rude . Bad example to his staff and the establishment he works for !! And he said I don’t care .. you don’t like it you can leave !!!Any way we got seated out side after we agreed to leave when the other party arrive .. off course we had no choice to go any where else !!! We are six people on a Saturday in midtown..! and guess what .. NO ONE WAS COMING . Tables were empty .. it started raining at 7:30 .. and we asked where is that party he wants to seat .. they pointed at another party was seated inside when we were seated that they sat inside!!!!! Which is a big LIE !!!! Any way until we left the restaurant after we moved to sit inside to another empty table inside for 6 leaving at 9 pm tables were still EMPTY .. this person does not deserve to work any where . He should be miserable and envious alone away from people . I have never ever seen such a rude manager in a hospitality business like him ..I will definitely never will come back because of his bad attitude even we had a GREAT Server.. I believe Lorenzo is his Name .. truth he was the only good thing about tonight experience.Definitely will never recommend this place ever to any one ..😡will be attaching couple of pictures of the patio after we left !!! And yes no body was seated their but us only .. what a joke this guy is .
Great bar service with some very well done old fashion drink. Bar Tender recomendé the tuna tartar and Chorizo tapas which where delicious. Overall can’t wait to be back for a nice drink and some small plates.Atmosphere is very trendy and lively. Smart casual Crowd and chilled.
Amazing experience and the staff was awesome!!! Abigail and Cassie were the greatest ever! We had a reservation, but came a little early and sat at the bar. We had such a great experience at the bar we didn’t take the table! Sit at the bar!!! The staff is amazing!!! We will be back!
Service was ok, love the location and that seating was a window view. There’s plenty of seating on the first and second floor, which is cool. I tried the 3 course brunch was was pretty good! Although, I felt there was too much blueberry preserves on my pancakes which ruined it. I enjoyed everything else - avocado toast, potatoes, and all! Would try again and recommend to others.
Reviews led us here and the entire experience was great. Our waitress, Justice, was excellent with food recommendations, personable, and always near at hand. We are from out of town and parking was a bit difficult for us since most garages are private in the area. Next time, I would SpotHero ahead. Will come back for sure next visit to Atlanta.
It’s was our 23rd wedding anniversary and it was recommended by some friends of ours to come to this quaint little restaurant that had impeccable service...and I must say, every word was true. The ambiance, the service and the food is absolutely amazing!! And not to mention our server Ms Jordan and the manager Betty were the perfect storm (I mean that with love), they were giving us the business and every suggestion they recommended was on point!! Love this place and we will be back!
Cool place. Nice patio. Good food. Bad service. We enjoyed our tapas on the patio. Although the bacon wrapped date - the bacon was really fatty. But the salmon carpaccio and the ham croquets were very tasty. Was happy the food came out so fast. So fast that it came out before my lavender margarita which I ordered at the same time we ordered the food. Sadly I never got that lavender margarita. :( I had finished my food by the time the server came to check on us and it dawned on her that she forgot my $12 drink. I told her to cancel it. So all I had was water which I had to track her down to ask for more. She filled my glass and completely ignored my husband’s 2 empty glasses. It was just weird spotty service. She did take the margarita off the bill. But b/w that and having to keep asking for water - it just made for a not so fun experience.I hope the restaurant doesn’t ask me for my phone number to discuss. This is my review and there’s nothing else to discuss. Maybe find some servers that have more experience.
I love it here. It’s my favorite restaurant in the city… I work at Barcelona, which is also tapas. But there’s something about the brisket Montaditos that keeps me coming back….10/10. Today I also had the 5oz salmon with lemon cream and spinach.. the sauce…. The freshness of the salmon…. 10/10… fresh Mahon… 10/10. It is a bit pricey, but you should expect that, the food presentation is beautiful and delicious so you are getting you money’s worth.
Im not usually up for fusion or modern type places but a friend made a lunch reservation here. The tapas was a good mix of items and the entrees looked great. The flatbread margherita was excellent and the paella was rich and tasty. Service was great. Stop in for this Spanish treat.
My girlfriend and I had the extreme pleasure of dining here on our recent stay in Atlanta. Our server Itzel was amazing as she helped us choose which drinks and food to order. The food was exceptional and we couldnt have been more happy. To anyone who loves tappas you will love Bulla. The meatballs and octopus were the two dishes that stood out to us the most.
Tonight my company took my team out for an appreciation dinner at Bulla. We had a reservation made by my corporate office manager for 15 people. The tab came to $1,100. We were sat at an outdoor table next to a sewer that cause our entire meal to smell like raw sewage the ENTIRE NIGHT. For some reason my party put up with this. If I had been in charge I would not have. But we shouldn’t have had to even be put in the position. Why are people who are dining here having to eat next to this smell? There is zero chance the staff couldn’t smell it. Everyone at my table commented on it. $1,100. Raw sewage.
Pros: some really good tapas(chicken flatbread, octopus, shrimp salad), friendly service, great location.Cons: Seafood Paella($40 is way too pricey for that), brussel sprouts salad was tasteless, beef short ribs larger plates came out cold, not very seasoned and were not worth $28, churros(more like French fries?)
Would normally give this a 4 but I was very disappointed in the service. We ended up there for happy hour and I pointed to the wine that i wanted OFF the HH menu. The glass comes and we decide to order a bottle of it (it was not that good, but for the price we decided to go for it). She brings the bottle and I do not go and look at the menu to make sure its the wine I ordered, so we drank the wine. We get the check back, and they had charged me for a completely different glass and bottle than what I had ordered. She did not offer to reduce the price or anything, but instead offered me at $10 gift card. I declined since I will not be going back due to this, even though the food was delicious!! Very poor service.
Shared a wonderful meal here with friends, excellent food and service. We tried the brunch menu and the paella. The avocado toast were ok but could have used some seasoning, the bikini was extremely salty, and the torrija was somewhat burnt. However the albóndigas and burger were great so that saved the meal. The ambiance of the space is excellent, beautiful decor and centrally located in Midtown, great spot for tapas.
Went here on Valentine’s Day. We made a reservation and there were no issues seating us. The service by Kimberly great; kind and attentive. The food was pretty good but not necessarily of the most memorable flavor but pretty good. Manchengo is always good with wine, Patatas bravas were savory, tuna tartare was fresh but the chicken croquettes were undercooked, under seasoned and mushy inside. They were out of salmon which isn’t a big deal and they were out of a couple of reds that I wanted to try but the Emilio Moro was a good wine substitute. Not quite as good as the Florida location but it was a good experience.
Bulla is a tasty, exotic, brilliant little breath of fresh air. Nestled in the heart of midtown, this small-bites eatery will pleasantly surprise you with an upscale feel without the snobbery or pretentiousness. Beautifully dressed tapas will take your tastebuds on a ride that will delight you, and the servers will make you smile. 5 stars :)
I come here at least once every weekend for brunch have never had a poor experience. Service is fantastic, food is always top tier, and the ambiance is very relaxed yet somewhat posh. I’d consider it an Atlanta brunch staple, and always recommend friends visiting the city to try the Prix Fixe menu for $3 mimosas and a delightful tasting of the best Bulla brunch bites. You’d be remiss to not try the Croquetas de jamon.
My wife and I visited Bulla Gastrobar last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Instead of waiting for a table we opted to eat at the bar. Our bartender, Keira (forgive me if I misspelled your name) was attentive, awesome and amazing. The drinks, flatbread and salmon were flavorful. There was a small issue with the Paella De Pollo but they were quick to rectify it.We will definitely come back as we want to try the lambchops, cheesecake and the other dessert recommended by Keira.
We had a party of 2 at 5:15 pm on a Saturday, which is during their happy hour. We were originally seated by the door, but it was chilly, so they were so kind to move us upstairs. They have happy hour every day from 3-6 pm. There isn’t very much on their happy hour menu, but the fact that they have it every single day, even on the weekends, is very nice. For drinks, we got the Forester Sour and the Spanish Margarita ($7 each during happy hour). Both were really good! For food, we got: Patatas Bravas ($5 during happy hour, $7 normally), Ceviche de Jalapeño ($12.50), Pimientos de Padron ($5 during happy hour, $9.50 normally), Montaditos ($11, even though on the menu, it’s listed at $12.50), Potato Tortilla ($5 during happy hour, $6.5 normally), and Chicken Croquettes ($9). Everything was delicious. Our favorites were the Montaditos and Ceviche de Jalapeño. Six tapas between two people was the perfect amount of food. We finished everything and we were definitely full. In fact, we probably could’ve gotten away with just ordering 5 plates. For dessert, we got the Churros con Chocolate (6 for $8). It came with chocolate sauce and dulce de leche to dip them in. The churros were not traditional churros. We would not get them again. We used the Yelp $30 for $40 deal, which was great! The service was excellent. Our waitress, Ashley, got everything right. They spaced the dishes out for us so that we weren’t overwhelmed by the food. She constantly checked on us. Multiple managers also came over to ask how we were doing. We were so impressed. We will definitely be back. I would suggest getting there before happy hour ends for good deals!
Came here for happy hour after hanging out at Piedmont park. It was pretty empty when I came. I got the Spanish margarita and it was so good. Not sour not tangy. Cant even taste the tequila but itll hit you. I also got the margarita pizza and patatas bavas. The margarita pizza was good and I could taste some spices. The patatas bravas was good too. I loved the sauces on it. The potatoes itself werent as crispy as I liked. Im definitely coming back!
Super friendly and fast service. We mentioned we had to be in and out and they were very accommodating. Aside from that, the food was really delicious, and so flavorfull. The portions were appropriate for the menu category, and priced reasonably. We sat upstairs, and it was like a different restaurant, as the vibe was more quiet and elegant than the vibrant pub vibe downstairs.
The food was good and the atmosphere was beautiful. We were generally pleased with the service we received. My only complaint, but a significant one, was the portion size of steak that I received in my paella. Please look at the photo below. Now, you tell me, is this enough steak for a paella? This dish is supposed to be robust, hearty and flavorful. I think not. When I brought it to the server’s attention he said thats the amount of steak it comes with. Completely unacceptable. See for yourself below, and please share a comment to let me know what you think.
Food was good & host & servers were top notch but This has by far been the most uncomfortable dinner of my life. My fiancé took me out to bulla to celebrate and staff was very friendly our server was professional and kind however, the way the manager Leo speaks to employees in front of customers is very uncomfortable and distracting.Working in customer service and experiencing Someone who is management be little staff in front of tables is beyond unprofessional and uncalled for. I don’t know specific details but it made the rest of the night awkward and I know their server was embarrassed. Do better for your staff bulla !!!
DO NOT ACCOMODATE KIDS. I asked for a plastic cup for my 14mo old and the server bring me a clear plastic cup without lid. But kid would pour water out without lid. I saw the table next to us had a plastic cup with lid so asked the server for the same thing. She mentioned thats only for customer who ordered juice. THATS INSANE. Im not asking for a $100 cup without paying it. That cheap cup may not cost more than 50c. BTW, the paella is extremely salty.
Always great to try new places and for me I truly did enjoy my first visit at Bulla Gastrobar, from the starting of trusting our server Quentin to pick me a glass of red, cheese, croquette de pollo, our paella mixta. Everything was great and great customer service. I would recommend this place for everyone willing to venture out and try something new.Cheers Bulla Gastrobar,BN
Mesmerizing experience! Cant wait to go back !Settings: 9.5/10: Modern, chic and sleek decor. Comfortable and convivial seating. The only space I would improve is their outside patio which I believe could use a little more ornaments (plants, flowers, furniture etc)Ambiance: 10/10: Spanish and Gypsy music playlist. Even on a rainy Sunday night, we felt the heat. I cant wait to go back on a Friday or Saturday when it really gets crowded.Drinks: 10/10: Im still craving my refreshing Lemongrass Collins 3 days later (served with fresh rosemary). The sangrias were good too! Overall, amongst the best cocktails weve ever had in Atlanta...but at a much better price !Food: 11/10: We tried 7 different items on the menu: 5 tapas, 1 main dish (lamb chops) and a dessert. EVERY SINGLE ITEM WE TRIED WAS DELICIOUS !!! This is a particularly difficult feat to accomplish, even for Michelin-starred restaurants. I felt like they were able to put their own exotic twist on every single one of those dishes. I was particularly moved by the way they cooked those lamb chops. It was fragrant, flavorful, spicy and seasoned just right. We found out all their recipes came from their owner in Spain. We were even surprised to find out that hes not even a trained chef, just a food enthusiast.Overall: 10/10. Needless to say, this will be one of our go-to spots in Atlanta.Special thanks to sous-chef Vawanda Robertson and to our server Eugene who welcomed us with open arms this past Sunday (as well as their Morrocan manager whose name I unfortunately forgot).
Had it not been for the intervention & excellent customer service delivered by the manager, Betty, our 1st visit to Bulla would have been a 2 to 3-star experience at best. First the positive, Bulla is a great open space with nice patio dining options including a fantastic 2nd level that also has the ability to make you feel like you’re dining al fresco. The menu is large & they have a fantastic $27 3-course brunch option w/$3 mimosas until 4pm on the weekends. The food, overall, is tasty ...although the potatoes were under salted, the hash was over salted. Parking in the garage is free & convenient. Where they seriously are lacking is timing in the kitchen. When we arrived at 2pm on Sunday, there was only a handful of people in the restaurant. Our friendly server got our cocktail choices out to us quickly enough but it literally took roughly 40 minutes to get a plain waffle, tomato-watermelon salad (that didn’t require cooking), & a hash out (& again, they were not busy AT ALL). Because I had ordered the 3-course brunch & the timing was so off with the 1st course salad, my friends had to awkwardly wait for me to eat my 2nd (burger) & 3rd (churros) course long after they had already finished. There was no explanation or acknowledgement from our server until we brought it up but she did apologize for the delay. The manager, Betty, did apologize profusely & comped a portion of our bill for the delay which was a nice gesture & the only reason I’ll give Bulla a 2nd. (Pro tip: if you have to use the restroom & have mobility issues or have been drinking, take the elevator!)
This place is phenomenal!! After having a terrible experience at our first choice for happy hour, a friend and I tried Bulla. There werent any available tables and we had no reservations but they still found space for us at the bar. All the bar staff were friendly and attentive even though it was really busy. Our chefs board came out quickly and the Spanish ham was to die for! We also had an order of the Albondigas--some of the best meatballs Ive ever tasted. Really light and flavorful (not full of dense breadcrumbs). The star of the evening was the sparkling sangria made with cava. We had an entire pitcher and it was worth every penny!
Came with a group to celebrate a friends birthday as restaurant of choice up the street had to close their kitchen unexpectedly. Needed a table for 9 was told they could only seat 6. Not sure what that was about as there was plenty of empty tables to accommodate all of us. So not cool. Luckily the other three people in our party had not arrived and chose to go somewhere else. Food was good but took a long time to reach our table. Wait staff was slow and inattentive to our liking. So not impressed with this place but elected to leave a decent tip nonetheless. Not sure if service was tied to the misguided notion that black folks dont tip as other patrons were white and seemed to get the necessary attention lacking at our table. Either way I wont be back. )i(
Bulla not only has amazing food... they have great staff. Andre has been our waiter many times. He’s always went above and beyond, tonight he took it to the next level. We shared our engagement to him. He was so thrilled and took it upon himself to give us a champagne toast. We haven’t seen him for months and was so surprised that he remembered our names. Andre certainly makes Bulla an experience to remember
Food is delicious and mouthwatering. Friendly, efficient, professional service complements exquisite tapas selections that are beyond good. If you want an authentic Spanish dining experience, this place is great. You cant go wrong with their paella and all of the servers have great insight as to what tapas you and your table might enjoy.
Thinking of coming here for dinner? Do yourself a favor and think again. Go to Iberian pig, Barcelona or the consulate. Heck stay at home and eat a sandwich. You’ll be a lot happier. A couple of menu items are decent. The wine selection is mediocre. But most of the tapas I ordered varied from surpassingly mediocre to downright inedible. Stay far away from the calamari and the croquettes. I’ve had far better service at Waffle House. Our server, Kimberly, tried to give us our check before all of our food had even come out. Trying to order another drink or more tapas was nigh on impossible because she was nowhere to be found.
Wow, I dont give the 5th star normally but this place deserves it. I came here for a birthday party and it was great!! The seafood paella is worth the wait, and while you wait, you can order tapas. What we got:1) Queso Fundido2) Chorizo Stuffed Dates3) Patatas Bravas4) Sautéed Garlic Shrimp5) Grilled Vegetables6) Sangria Blanca7) Ceviche de Jalapeño
This is a really good patio bar in the city. Its in a really great area where a lot of good establishments are so you can walk easily from one to another. We ended up sitting outside because I said that they had too many people with reservations. But nobody turned on the heat lamp for us. That was my only drawback. Other than that, the food was good. The kale Caesar salad was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the cabanero pasta as well.
Wow! Quite the dining experience! This place is the kinda place that makes people flock to cities like Atlanta. The fact that you can find an outstanding tapas bar with a cozy outdoor patio, amazing wine and stellar service are just the start of it. This was truly a dining experience rather than a restaurant. My boyfriend, myself and a friend of ours dined here one evening and were wowed by the quality of service, the atmosphere and the food. We will definitely be back!
This is one of our top 5 favorite happy hour spots in Atlanta. The cocktails are craft and made well. The small plates are usually seasoned well and we love their outdoor patio. The inside is a vibe as well with the urban Atlanta upscale feel. Follow cdeatsatlanta on tiktok for reviews and other happy hour spots.
Had a surprised birthday dinner for one of my greatest friend of all times. I was very very shocked of how beautiful the place is. First time visited and I had a wonderful experience, the service was great! the food omg was wonderful! thank you chef for doing your thing!! the place is highly recommended! I enjoyed every bit of this place. I cannot wait to go back! thank you bulla for giving us a wonderful time.
Update:Gave them a second chance this evening after speaking with their management. Tonight’s experience was wonderful! Dasani and Leo were excellent. Our drinks were made correctly and everything was delicious.Savannah the waitress was amazing, and that was where the positives ended.I ordered a dark and stormy which they made with vodka instead of rum. When I mentioned it to the manager to get the drink corrected he said that if I wanted another shot I could pay for one . He later apologized and said it was a bar error, however the replacement beverage was also made incorrectly. My calamari was bland however the goat cheese was excellent (thanks goat).
Horrible service, waited nearly 30 minutes for each drink, they upcharged us for below average vodka lemonades, and the waitress said “don’t drink and drive, it’s not worth it” at the end when we were not planning to do so & all were responsible and Ubered. Not like we could’ve gotten much of a buzz after waiting 30 minutes per drink. The manager was so rude as well. Will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place.
The food was good. Not the best tapas but price point competes with better offerings. The reason for 3 stars was the sub-par service. Dishes were brought out only half plated, wrong items were brought to the table multiple times, and water was almost always empty. It was a friends birthday and at an average price of $80 per person, I would have at least expected attentiveness. Drinks were also not competitive at this price point. I would not return here. Much better experiences in the metro area!
Went here for my birthday! Huge disappointment! This was the worst highest priced restaurant for no reason ever! The food was bland and horrible. They didnt have any sweet juices. You had to order soda. They were out of grenadine. It was just a big fancy pile of nothing. They should open a clothing store instead. 😡😠😡😠
The space is beautiful. The host was friendly, but a bit overwhelmed trying to talk to people and answer phones that wouldnt stop ringing. The food was great. Flavor was awesome and came out quick. The service was lackluster at best. Extremely slow. Non attentive and robotic. At one point he was shocked that our drinks had not come out yet. But that was because he hadnt taken our order yet!! Had no idea where we were in our dining experience. He kept swinging for those upsells though! And then we were overcharged. The manager made quick work of fixing that issue which was nice. I would go back for the food. Hopefully I will get a better server next time!
We went on NYE and really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant! The staff was very pleasant, but the service was quite slow at times, which was likely due to it being NYE. This being said, once our food order was taken, the tapas came out pretty quick. The food was fresh and good quality. Look forward to coming again!
Perfect place for dinner! Enjoyed their great happy hour menu. Our server, Matthew, was fantastic. Try not to get too carried away ordering everything that sounds good! We sat on the covered patio. Got pretty hot (it was 95 out) but manageable (mounted fans would have made a big difference). Highly recommend the Chef’s Board (charcuterie board) to start off the evening. Seems like it would also be a great after work spot.
We were excited to try this place, but it honestly didn’t meet our expectations. The patatas bravas were burned, the fried calamari didn’t taste good at all and it was chewy( and it is hard to miss one), the salmon was good as well as the sangria. Service was average. The ambience is nice.
Lindsey was amazing! She was super informative, and sweet. She coursed things out perfectly, and checked in on us frequently without being invasive. I had to wait for my guest and she did not make me feel pressured to order right away, which I appreciate. She also gave great recommendations for food. I will definitely return both for her, the food, and the amazing drinks.
Tapas rest in midtown, Honestly I wasn’t impressed with the service and some of the food, we ordered Huevos Bulla is a amazing dish, the grilled octopus was overcooked, the patatas bravas were burned, and the chicken skewers were plain, the coconut flan was delicious, la madrilena drinks is perfect for this winter hint of cinnamon and apple. I will wait to go again.
So I’ve been here twice. Once during a family reunion when we rented out the upstairs and had our own bar, menu, servers, etc. I have no complaints— although I can’t remember every single detail. I went back this June and sat at the bar w/a friend. The white woman at the bar was rude, slow, and very short with us. The Black guys at the bar? Awesome! We chatted w/all the other bar guests (very diverse), so I don’t know what ol’ girl’s problem was. The food was good and the drinks were decent. It was a fun atmosphere. I’d definitely go back & hope & wish I don’t get her as a bartender. Bulla has an air about itself, a snootiness of sorts, as if they don’t want to be inclusive. (I’m speaking in code here so my review isn’t deleted, but if you’re of color you get it.) But I have no idea why. This is not an upscale restaurant, nor is it anywhere near expensive. I’d go back because their happy hour is great and I think (some) of the staff is great. But they need to check folks who are making assumptions about a certain demographic.
Food wasnt amazing, but it wasnt bad either. It was just your average tapas, really. I dont know if normal, but everything came out within 10-15 minutes and it was really fast. I like to chat over wine while waiting for food to come out, but the food came out first before we got the wine. We ordered 5 tapas including a seafood paella and almost everything came out at the same time. Last time I came, the paella was said to take over 35-45 minutes, but this time, it came out around the 15 minute mark. We came in on a Saturday night, so it was not a slow night either. Dont know if the amount of time it took to prepare the food made me feel weird about the freshness of it, but other than that, the wine was good. I dont know if I would come back for the tapas or the paella. Sadly, it was just not for me. But definitely still give it a try.
Omg our server name was Carlos so nice and gave us stellar service. The food is amazing but when we got to desserts baby the flan was so delicious. Then how he also went into detail after I asked him who made it. Shout out to all the cooks, prep and bartenders I will definitely be coming back and the decor is beautiful in there!!! I will be back for it all an experience indeed. 😍
5 stars alone just for the service. Akeima made our dinner soooo enjoyable and easy. She made sure we got our drinks in right before happy hour ended and was just overall so so sweet. The food was also delicious, highly recommend getting the bacon wrapped dates. Great place to grab drinks and snacks to share and catch up with friends!
Found this place listed in the top 50 brunch spots of ATL. I will say that The Upland definitely lived up to its placement on the list! The food was PHENOMENAL! The staff was very friendly, the host even let me charge my phone. The wait for a table for 2 was pretty long so we decided to Brunch at the bar. I usually dont like to do this, but the bartender cinthia(I believe his name was) made it a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or residing or visiting Atlanta! the only problem we had is the bartender change!!! the second bartender Katty did not care about us much.
Great food, good drinks, wonderful ambience and excellent service. Our dinner favorites were patatas bravas, grilled chicken flatbread and the salmon carpaccio ! We were too full from the Tapas but will surely visit the next time we are in ATL ( for the Paella). Cheers !
Can be a bit pricey depending on what you order, but regardless one of my favorite spots for brunch! I assure you that the house-marinated olives, Manchego cheese, and especially the Huevos Bulla will NOT disappoint. I have had good experiences with the staff as well. Not sure why, but Bulla made me feel more like a young adult than a college student, and I always liked that about the restaurant
I really wanted to get the Paella but it serves 4+ people and there was only two of us, so we went the Tapas route. We really enjoyed most of the tapas. I dont remember all the ones we ordered, but we know we didnt care for the chorizo queso, but the various shrimp, chicken, and steak tapas we had were excellent. Oh and the chicken croquettes were so good!
I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it for happy hour on Friday afternoon with my guest. They have a great selection of cocktails and tapas on the happy hour menu. Our waiter, Armani was amazing and recommended everything on the menu that we should try. He was very welcoming and made our experience pleasurable. The atmosphere is nice and is great for groups or even a date night. My favorite things on the menu were the Spanish mule (cocktail), Pintxo Moruno (tapas), and Salmon Carpaccio (first course), and Torrija (dessert). The portion sizes are great for sharing when ordering a few different selections. I really wanted to try the Sangria De Cerveza, but it was out of stock. However, the manager, Sandra was very rude and unpleasant. She came over to our table, did not introduce herself, but proceeded to tell us that we should be finished within the next 25 mins because of all the 200 + reservations she had on schedule. I asked her if there was a limited seating policy or timed reservations and she had no response. It also doesn’t state any of this information on their website. We weren’t even finished with our meal, I had to ask for my dessert that was ordered and paid for over a half hour ago with our original waiter that completed his shift for the day. She mentioned that she would try and figure things out with the seating and if so she wouldn’t bother us again. Within the next 10 mins, she sent another waitress over to our table to tell us the same exact thing, which was appalling. I could see that towards the evening hours the crowd begins to grow and it gets busier, but that has nothing to do with us when we were already there enjoying our meal. She never asked us if we needed anything else or if we were planning to continue order more items. At that point, we were very offended by her behavior and didn’t want to spend any more time or money in this establishment. I spoke with the general manager, Santiago about what happened with the manager, Sandra and he immediately apologized and offered to seat us at another table. We appreciated his hospitality, but at that point the mood was unfortunately spoiled.I would recommend this place for cocktails and tapas, but the customer service needs improvement, especially with management. It will be while, before we think about returning after that experience.
I’ve tried twice to love this place. Food is great. The first visit our wine came out after food- and a reminder to the server. Tonight we chose to sit at the bar to eliminate this issue. Food was great again, but the bartender/s rarely checked in with us. Our dirty plates sat in front of us and when we asked the runner we were told it’s not his job but that the bartender would remove them. Finally after about 30 mins we had to ask for them to be removed and ordered a glass of wine. As we sit here- no acknowledgement from bar staff. I’ve been in the weeds and know what it’s like as a industry worker, but certain “friends” of the staff seem to be getting full attention. Not sure if I’ll be back.
Update: Someone from their corporate team reached out and remedied the matter. While not ideal that the restaurant’s venture group had to step in, I’m glad they did and respect them for taking it serious (and working to fix the problem). Good ownership.Original Post: While not horrible in person (i.e. the food is actually quite good on average), Ive had them cancel pick up and delivery orders multiple times while blaming the delivery services (after waiting over 60 minutes for the food to be prepared then picked up). When I call the restaurant to get clarification, in every instance they claim that they did not cancel any orders. Delivery services disagree. The dishonesty is frustrating since I assume they dont want to acknowledge they had to cancel an order and couldnt fulfill it. Be warned.
Bulla has locations around the country. I stopped in on a Friday night with a friend. While they do have happy hour, we got there too late for it. We each ordered a cocktail and a few small plates as part of a restaurant bar crawl we were having that night. The staff was friendly and helpful, able to suggest a few things as we were indecisive. I got the Bullfighter for my cocktail. I would never think to put bourbon, aperol, and port together, but it worked. A little sweet though. We ordered the huevos Bulla, one of their signature dishes. Hand cut fresh fried chips with a soft egg and serrano ham. It worked and was fun to eat.The salmon tartar was a bit salty, but the ceviche was very bright and fresh.
GOOD ENERGY | CHIC | FINE DINNING | TAPAS | UPSCALE SERVICE | GREAT FOOD.This restaurant is in the heart of midtown Atlanta and has a great vibe. There is just this good energy that engulfs you the minute you walk in. It has an openview kitchen at the back, an island style bar in the middle and it splits off to an indoor and outdoor patio dinning areas; radiating from the bar. The service was exquisite, from the hostess seating us to the server and someone that is like a floor manager checking in on us from time to time to ensure all is nice and dandy. Oh the food runners too!I was impressed with how the server rattle off things from the menu with an expert flair. Her wine recommendation was exciting to all four of us at the table.
Big menu with lots of good options, and the food was yummy. Potions are very small, though. Drinks took a long time to come out & they kept trying to give us drinks for the wrong table. There were a couple of people at the bar who should have been cut off & sent home long before (one turned a barstool over & crashed himself to the floor, almost hitting us, not good), but they were allowed to keep drinking, which was odd. The bathrooms are way upstairs, not super convenient, and our server was very kind. I wouldn’t rule out trying it again. Also, don’t park in the deck across the street, they don’t validate that one! Has to be the one on their block, around the corner from their entrance. Incorrect info online cost me $18 just to park. Boo.Desserts menu is very weak & we didn’t love the French toast-ish one we chose. Calamari was the tastiest thing we had.
We found this gem.based on high Google reviews. I have not been to midtown ATL in years but.we had a few hours to kill before the flight so we drove to midtown. Food here is of the highest quality. Steak paella was fresh, tasty and authentic. Their garbanzo bean soup was delicious. If you like Spanish cuisine I would highly recommend this place. Staff is very friendly.
Service: Our waitress admitted she was having her second day on the job, and for that I am happy to allow her the grace for not always having a full glass of water. She tried! She did a pretty good job for just having started.Quality: Satisfactory. Portion sizes were just right for tapas. We ordered the patatas bravas, pan con tomate, grilled octopus and tuna tartare and it was enough for two people.Value: I didnt realize that this was a chain restaurant which to me is a good thing. I enjoyed our meal and I would recommend it.
It was my first experience here and I had a blast! Joel was my server and he was off the chain - in a good way! The food was cooked perfectly. My burger was medium to perfection. Thank you all so much for such a great time and a great experience. I will definitely return.
Each time that I dine here I have such an enjoyable experience. The seats leave AMPLE room for my *ahem* ample posterior. The food is ALWAYS on point. Savory and sometimes sweet small plates, priced nicely so that you can sample ample amounts of food at a really great cost, along with A+ service each time that I go, make me want to return again and again. The servers here were so attentive and had such good ENERGY (*Bobby😉) that I couldnt help but feel they love it here. And of course in turn that made me love it too! The Moscow Mule here is utter perfection - lively, sweet, and refreshing. The blackberry lemonade (after I sweetened it with simple syrup) was DIVINE. Im from the southern part of thestate, so I always ask for sweet tea. They dont have it here, but dont sweat, theyve got unsweetened tea and you can ask for simple syrup to sweeten that tea right up. Hats off to you Bulla, for always providing such a nice dining experience.
My first time at this restaurant! And it was amazing! Food was hot and arrived fast! Server was excellent. We had the pleasure of Gerald taking care of us. He was so knowledgeable that we decided to disregard the menu and go with his recommendations. Thank you for the wonderful experience! We’ll be back :)
While in Atlanta I wanted to treat my wife and teenage children, ages 18 and 14, to a unique dinner. The kids have never been to a tapas restaurant before so we decided to give Bulla Gastrobar a try. We were able to make reservations and were seated at a nice cozy table upstairs next to a window with a nice view. We ordered maybe 6 - 7 plates in round one and then another 3 - 4 for round two, along with dessert. Everything was fantastic. Our favorites were the ham croquettes, patatas bravas and huevos bulla. For dessert we had the Torrija and Flan De Coco. The gelato and sorbet was so good everyone kept clanking spoons as we all went in form more. Their wait staff was very prompt and attentive and very knowledgeable on the many choices. Overall we had an excellent evening filled with wonderfully delicious food. I will caution that our bill was north of two hundred dollars for a group of 4. This wasn’t an issue for us as I was expecting this. Just mentioning this for folks who may be new to tapas and want to try many plates like we did.
First off, Bobby is the shining star of this establishment. Give that boy everything he wants. Now, I’ve worked in both customer service and the hospitality industries, and have never written a review before. People have bad days, I understand things happen. That being said, I’ve never in my life heard a host speak to a patron the way the male host at this restaurant did when our party informed him that the party size was one more than he had on his list (we called last week to change the reservation and he said he had taken care of it, but things happen, we get it). He was so disrespectful I felt actively uncomfortable. I thought it was just a one off situation but I saw the EXACT same thing happen to another party minutes later. Almost half of the tables are empty and the host was speaking to both of our parties as if we had just asked him to shave his head and perform a one man show in the middle of the room. I have never seen anyone be less accommodating. The man needs a hug and a pink slip.
Stone cold oxtail, most staff unmasked, rushed us to make our reservation and table wasn’t ready. We were told to order all at once and that the tapas would be staggered, but they all came within 20 mins of each other, even after we asked for slower delivery. No one brought refills or clean plates or forks or ever took any dirty dishes away.
I really wanted to like this place but everything I had was very underwhelming- small portions that are way over priced, and drinks just weren’t good. I was most disappointed in the paella. We were shocked to see six shrimp, and four clams on top of the $40 paella(!!!). And the texture was more like a risotto.
Met a friend here for happy hour while in town. Their Spanish Mule with candied ginger is a must have! Our server was attentive, even though I noticed he seemed to be taking tables both inside and on the patio (I wish I remembered his name, as he was excellent). We also ordered their Chefs Board, which was an excellent pairing to our drinks.
My server was very pleasant. My food was great. I was there for Sunday brunch and ordered the garlic shrimp (amazing flavor) shrimp omelet and Nutella waffles. I had a bougie Palmer which was also delicious. My only complaint would is that when we initially arrived the hostess told us they were over booked and could not accommodate walk ins. However there was plenty of empty seating outside and in. I went outside and made an online reservation and was seated within 10min so I’m not sure what that was all about.
First off I love this place and come all the time. Today my friend and I came for brunch. One of our favorite bartenders, Myron, was working and training 2 new people as well. There was also a female bartender that didnt really acknowledge us at any point until we had to pay pretty much. There were many times that we needed something but she didnt even try. They were a little busy and the food took a while, but the hostess had let us know when we came in that the kitchen was backed up so we were ok with it. The avocado toast was great,as were the salmon montaditos. We decided to get one of our favorite tapas, the calamari. When I saw what they brought out I thought it was a joke. There were 3 rings and 5 tentacles. I showed the trainee and he got the manager, Santiago. He gave us some excuse about a new distributor and thats how it comes out now. I found it very hard to believe that anyone would pay for something that looked so pathetic,so I let him know I did not want it and ordered something else.a few minutes later another couple at the bar ordered calamari and what they got was an actual order of calamari, not like what they wanted us to eat. I find it hard to believe that the management has not been trained in quality control of the food, and that instead of offering a new order of the dish, he just made excuses. There are lots of areas of opportunity right now in the restaurant and I really hope they get addressed so that other people, who might be first timers, do not have the same experience and choose not to come back.

2022-03-10I would say as far as tapas goes usually each little plate leaves you wanting more because it’s just so tasty. Each mouthful decadent and sumptuous. That’s not the kind of tapas you will get here. Each plate is good. The flat bread is average. The drinks are sweet and watered down.Eating upstairs guarantees your service will leave you alone and it will be a hushed ambiance. The downstairs is a starkly different vibe.As far as parking goes, if you can’t find a spot in their designated parking, go to the deck that’s across the street from the entrance.Sugar factory valet is $30, parking in their lot is validated but highly limited.

2022-03-29This place truly has great service. In a city filled with so many restaurants to choose from, this tapas location is affordable and the food taste great. In each dish you can taste the attention to detail. The seafood Paella is filled with shrimp, prawns, octopus, small baby clams and, squid rings. This dish can serve 3-4 comfortably. The margherita flat bread is served crisp with just the right amount of sauce. The basil and Italian seasonings were sprinkled over the tomatoes and I would personally love a little balsamic drizzle to add to the sweetness of the tomatoes. The grilled octopus was hands down the most savory dish, thanks to the corn puree. The grilled salmon on a bed of spinach with chick peas and slivered garlic topped with the lemon sauce was great. There are many choices and our server was helpful and did not hesitate to offer guidance.

2022-05-17If you can weather the traffic then you should come down to this Gastrobar right after work! They have a happy hour from 5-7 and their craft cocktails are something to write aboutBe sure to sit at the bar so you can capitalize on their happy hour food menu. If you’re sat then you unfortunately won’t be able to get it.Overall the food was to the bar pretty quickly from ordering. I would say 10/15 minutes max.The margarita pizza unfortunately was undercooked but the size definitely was a bit bigger than the “Tapas” serving, which is a plus for me.I would come back for an ambient date or an after work cocktail!

2022-06-20First time having Brunch at Bulla after having dinner and lunch before. I LOVED it, excellent menu choices and I savored every last bite of my potato tortilla and blueberry ricotta pancakes. The passion fruit mimosa was on point! Victoria, who assisted us was outstanding. Spanish brunch is for me!

2022-06-24I came here for my birthday dinner with friends and family and had a wonderful time! Our servers were amazing and so attentive especially considering how large our party was. They even held my birthday cake in the back until it was time for cutting. The Paella Mixta was delicious and such a huge portion! I had enough leftover to eat the next day! The complimentary birthday drink was a nice touch as well. Overall, great experience!

2022-05-08Incredible Spanish food and dining atmosphere. The chef’s board charcuterie and cheeses were a great way to start the meal. The seafood paella was wonderful. Be sure to save room for desserts and Cava!

2022-02-19Busy, fun spot to grab drinks, tapas, dinner in midtown Atlanta. Service was a bit slow - our second drink literally came with our check, but the food was delicious. We ordered from the tapas selection & especially enjoyed the steak, chorizo queso & the albondigas.

2022-01-22Had such a wonderful time during happy hour! Justice was our server and she was outstanding! Great service and very friendly, highly recommend the Spanish Mule (that’s why I keep coming back), after this experience I’ll ask Justice every time and to keep the mules coming!
