Very nice ambiance, spacious, but... they don’t have apple turnovers (which is very French... probably no demand in this area), mocha coffee was VERY bland for a mocha, and costs more than average... I was pleased though with the chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat).
VIBE- super cute place. Perfect for a casual date or brunch. They make their own pastries!!!! You can see big windows into their kitchen area.COVID- all open areas. No walls between tables or anything though it looked decently spaced out. They have outdoor seating.Service was really slow but during covid, I understand.FOOD- I only had pastry and it was DELICIOUS. The food on my neighbors table looked rly yummy. The only sad thing is they have bottled cold brew. It is not freshly made there.
Good bakery! But in my opinion it is overpriced. The madeleines were soft and very tasty. The coffee eclairs were very good: the puff pastry was fresh with great texture and the coffee cream was good, although it could have a stronger coffee flavor. I was disappointed by the chocolate eclairs: vanilla cream instead of chocolate cream filling. The pain aux raisins is really big with a brioche style dough. The macarons were too sweet, I would avoid them. The staff was professional and helpful. Except for the price, I will recommend that place.
This is it!!! The pastries I’ve been searching for in Atlanta. The chocolate almond croissant is a must-try - the perfect amount of flaky and sweet. Can’t wait to try all the other pastries!Outdoor patio is covered and dog friendly. Indoor space is reminiscent of an European cafe, perfect for a meet up with a friend or to get some reading and work done!
First time, and I was impressed! The croissants were light and buttery. The macarons were delightful, and the chai latte was bursting with cinnamon flavor. I did not give 5 stars because the customer service could have been a bit friendlier and more helpful. Other than that, I really enjoyed this place and probably will return!
Very nice French Café and Bakery hidden in the Chastain Park neighborhood. What’s really cool is you can see the kitchen and see pasties being made right before your eyes. The decor and ambiance put you right in the middle of Paris. We actually met Hamid (the owner). Very nice guy and very in tune to his clientele. I implore you to stop in and try one of their tarts. If you see Food 101, just drive behind the building and the café is at the end of the building.
First of all, the place is beautiful, really clean and has a great atmosphere. The customer service is top notch, everybody treated me with an amazing attitude and helped me with the menu and recommendations. More importantly the Almond Croissant was amazing!!!!You must try this place! Great atmosphere for working as well
Authentic French bakery. Delicious rich pastries and coffee. Great breakfast spot. Busy. Helpful staff. Prepare to wait in line. Lovely atmosphere. I took an almond croissant, almond and chocolate croissant, egg and gruyere croissant sandwich, baguette, exotique, rubis and vanilla latte to go. Everything was delicious. The croissants and latte were the best of everything I tried. Perfect baguette. Chocolate and almond croissant was perfectly balanced.
Their pastry dough was not very successful for the day I was there, the interior structure of my croissant was comparable to a dinner roll. The apple tart was great, the apple sauce bottom filling was interesting. The ispahan has no lychee nor rose flavors in it, and the cream filling was a bit too sweet. The staffs were not familiar with their own menu.
Maybe it is Atlanta after all and I shouldnt expect much! the food is far from being authentic, well the music was. The croissant aux amandes was far from being one! From the croissant dough to the frangipane(was it really?) Not to mention it was completely undercooked(see picture)! Also the choice is very limited when I was there. The displays were 2/3rd empty. While I love Valrhona chocolate, there was nothing with chocolate to even try... So I decided to try the strawberry tart. It was also lacking freshness. The strawberries on top had no taste and creating a taste out of a strawberry jam added under them did just made the tart too sweet and removed any freshness feel we expect to enjoy in a fresh tart. Maybe I came on a bad day but that is enough to remove this from any good list. A good place has to be always consistent! And to think that they have a huge picture of Carette on the place des Vosges in Paris...
THE spot to get the best croissants in all of Atlanta if youre craving. On top of that, this is my favorite French bakery in all of Atlanta (I have to specify French because I have a favorite Asian/Hong Konger style of bakery and the baking style is just totally different!). All 3 types of classic croissants they have are spot on. You know its fresh because you have to eat the croissants in a day or two (not that its a task)! Ive been to bakeries in France and this one feels straight out of Paris! One hot tip Id like to mention is that this is a fantastic brunch spot, with a wonderful brunch/lunch menu. I highly recommend the Bonjour Croissant (with gruyere and perfectly scrambled eggs), or the Croque Madame. You get a side with salad or potatoes but we always go with the salad because its refreshing. If you are on the hunt for a brunch spot on a Saturday or Sunday peak hour and everywheres booked up... this is a great spot!We also love the decor and interior, and Ive had many a meeting and work session there. The staff there has always treated me with respect and left me to do my thing. Even once when my coffee was off, they replaced it with no hesitation (it was in the wrong size cup so the coffee proportions were off).We are moving away further down from this business so I will miss having the convenience of living near it. If youre in the area, please go! You will find a gem of something to enjoy, whether it be their fresh baguettes, croissants, exquisite patisserie or brioche.
Lovely cafe atmosphere. Soothing french music or a relaxing afternoon. Coffee was good, and so was the pastries. The tartlettes were amazing, and so were the macarons. The Caramelo was delicious! Theres only a few selection for the desserts though. Love this place! For more selection of french desserts, Doceur de France would be the place to go.
A hidden gem. My father loves this little cafe, and wow! I understand why. From the moment you walk through the automatic sliding door youre instantly inside (what Ive pictured) a Parisian Cafe. The display case is full of beautifully done pastries and breads. The menu is full of delicious food. The coffee!! One of the best cups Ive had.Sit inside or out, the choice is yours and you wont want to leave either. Definitely worth the trip.
We first went to this place when it had just opened up. Metro Atlantans are extremely fortunate to have quite a few authentic French/European bakeries, this is certainly one of them. My friend often hosts a French language meet up here so we can get our dose of French conversation. I like to get a cappuccino which is strong and perfect, occasionally a macaron and both are tasty! I havent yet tried the food, just the pastries and coffee. If you dont go early enough on a Saturday the baguettes are usually sold out, but there are other baked breads which are crusty and just right. The owner is friendly and welcoming. Fortunately there is ample parking in an around because it is located in a shopping plaza.
Visited last Saturday with two other friends. Desserts were a little too sweet and cold but atmosphere was nice. I later find on my receipt that our call name was “ASIANS”. The cashier did not bother asking for my name and I guess I know why now. Would not return in the future, please consider going elsewhere - I’d give 0 star if I could.
Wonderful, cute cafe right behind the new performing arts center in Sandy Springs. Owner is very kind and jovial. He took the time to explain the pastries, breads and other products, emphasizing that the treats are made on a daily basis! Croissants and baguettes are exquisite! Some outdoor seating is available. I recommend arriving early before all the pastries and breads sell out.
Amazing pastries, beautiful interior decor. But the coffee is consistently bad, despite using high quality beans. And the service is polite but sloppy.I ordered 3 brewed coffees for my group. 2 cups came from the last dregs of the old batch, and 1 fresh new cup was served much later. All 3 had coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup, even the fresh cup...clearly something is wrong with the coffee machine.Serving customers leftover coffee, coffee grounds mixed in with the coffee, and beverages for a group coming out at separate times instead of all together at once? Thats pretty basic stuff. The food was very tasty. But we found 2 short hairs in the quiche! The person eating it was a woman with long hair, so definitely not hers. And the food came out so late, by the time the food was served, we had finished our coffee and had nothing to drink. The food and pastries are tasty. But the management is a mess. Employees dont seem be trained at all, not even in basic protocols. And it looks very bad that the owner was just sitting around using his phone when the service is a mess like this. The food and pastries are tasty, so I will still continue to come back. But probably just to-go, and Id get coffee elsewhere.
I loved my first experience here so much 😊 it’s got a great vibe and a great cappuccino. Made all the more memorable by the most kind and genuine owner I’ve ever met, Hamid, who is very active in ensuring guest satisfaction and is passionate about his food and culture. Absolutely lovely and a must go!
Coffee and pastry - nothing special. Coffee like any other cafe and overly sweet pastry.Veggie sandwich-no cheese, no salt on potatoes and no salt and pepper at the table as well.Service - rude and non-existent. She didnt even bother to wait until we finished our pastry orders and started packing and we were standing, she then realized and asked oh, you are going to order more?, Thats it. Absolutely no checking about the food, no smile. The only thing we got served was the attitude. I am surprised how they have received good ratings.Probably due to the location. I wont be returning.
I go here regularly and everything about this place is wonderful! The staff are kind and attentive, the owner is very cool and generous with his time, the coffee and food are SO delicious, and the atmosphere is inviting and warm. The best coffee shop in Atlanta, hands down.
Cozy neighborhood cafe with outdoor seating area that transports you to France. We love coming here for our morning cappuccino. It’s a perfect break from our work from home routine. The macaroons are the best in town. The fresh salads, hand crafted drinks, baked goods and sandwiches are delicious and addictive.
Today was my second time eating here with hubby and it was another great experience. The croissants were absolutely delicious; the bread to die for as well as the pastries. The omelettes and paninis are great too!I love the atmosphere. It’s so warm and cozy, you never even want to leave. The owner is exceptionally nice and personable. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming. I highly recommend this place and look forward to many more visits with family and friends.
Great place to enjoy a snack. I am from Europe, and the pastry just tastes like freshly made excellent bakery European. It takes effort to run a place like this, it is great to see the success and it is fully deserved. They also offer excellent salads, quiches, and sandwiches. I can not put up with days old rubbery vegetable oil somewhat croissant looking objects. Go to Vendome for the real stuff!
My fist time and it won’t be my last. Outstanding cappuccino, Pastry is delicately made to perfection. Just the right amount of sweetness I tried so many different things and everything was Perfect, the price was great too. If you haven’t already, check them out TODAY.
Some people are complaining about the price and its not even THAT pricey! You want great quality? You pay a price!! I 100% recommend this cute spot! We loved hanging out there with the delicious food and great coffee. Owner was super nice! The pastries are delicious and I wish we couldve tried everything! We will be back again and again! 💕💕
Always delicious! The owner is wonderful and usually present. Best croissants in Atlanta! I absolutely love the tarts, and small pastries. You can get a proper cup of tea to boot, and the coffee is good as well. The best part is you can watch all the bakers doing their thing in the kitchen.
Just moved to the area and was excited to visit this place, especially after seeing the pics of their cases full of delightful looking desserts and pastries. Unfortunately during my visit, the cases looked rather bare and there wasnt much to choose from. I tried a lemon macaron that was almost too sweet (like hurt your teeth sweet) and a single cup of regular coffee for nearly $4 that tasted watery and a little bitter. The only good thing I can say is the person taking orders was nice and it was a nice place to relax and read.
I live in Europe and Café Vendôme offers the same quality of food and coffee as the coffee places over there. The bread, pastries and sandwiches are of the highest quality and one can tell is made from the best and freshest ingredients. The coffee is carefully made to perfection. Literally you are paying for what you are getting: a true European experience and it is all worth it to me. Not only that, the customer service provided by the owner is outstanding.Kudos to Café Vendôme!
Love love love this jewel in the city. A new favorite place for me. Fantastic pastries, the perfect cup of coffee and friendly staff. I almost forgot what real coffee tastes like after drinking the chain store coffee for so long. The ambience when you walk through the door is set with the decor and music. Oh and I must not forget to mention the quiche was some of the best. Can’t wait to try the crepes.
Love this place. Its like being transported into France behind the door. The ambience is great and the wait staff are charismatic and knowledgeable. Can be pricey (especially the wine list), but totally worth it. Every time I go to dinner here for 2 plus wine is normally in and around $250 total. Nice cuisine.
This place is great. The service immediately upon entry was attentive and personable to a level not normally experienced and the quality of the bread was high. Also the espresso was definitely a help after a long drive. I definitely plan to come here again at my next opportunity! I recommend coming early because this places baguettes are a hot commodity.
Buyer beware! I am trying to support local restaurants during this crisis time by ordering through Door Dash or Ubereats and most of the time all is good with the restaurant getting it right or making it right. This restaurant; however, did not. First, in the Door Dash menu, when you order the Quiche you are asked to select what type of side potato you want and the type of dressing. I never did get the potatoes so either this is not an option or they forgot them. If restaurants are going to use delivery services, they need to make sure the menu is correct. I ordered raisin bread and instead I received a chocolate croissant. I understand that substitutions sometimes need to be made but how is raisin bread comparable to a chocolate croissant!? Such a waste to throw it away, which I did, and I wasted $7.50. Great restaurants actually take the time to call and let you know and come up with something that is actually comparable. Not this place and when I called the girl said they were busy and when I asked her to check with the manager on substituting the chocolate croissant with a ham and cheese baguette, she went away and never came back. Oh..she was willing to throw in a $3.50 baguette. How is $3.50 comparable to $7.50? After several minutes of waiting on the phone, I hung up, hoping they would do the right thing and call back - NOPE. Just because people are ordering from delivery services does not exempt them from getting the same great service as if we were standing in the restaurant and face to face. As for the mushroom and onion Quiche? If you want a hard dry crust that is loaded with mushrooms sprinkled with the odd onion and sparse egg custard then this is for you. No cheese that I could tell either. Otherwise if you want great Quiche that is heavy on the custard and/or cheese accented with add-ons, go somewhere else. Very disappointed since everyone else seems to give this place great reviews but I will never return or recommend.
I ordered a vanilla iced latte and--to my surprise--was told it would be $10. She confirmed the price, so I figured I would just treat myself. If its $10 it must be pretty good.....Wrong.The barista poured the espresso directly over the ice, which gave me a melted down, diluted, terribly tasting, $10 latte.I have had good experiences here before, so I tried to call the store to talk to the owner directly. They did not pick up. I am disappointed with my experience. If you are going to charge $10 for a drink, you should make sure your employees make it correctly.
Love this spot. Staff is super friendly, especially the owner - very engaging and feels like an extension of home, with a very classy Paris feel. The menu, from the sweet to the savory is more extensive than people realize, and they serve BY FAR the best espresso in town. Puts starbucks to shame. Menu is also pretty healthy - low in sugar even for the bakery side, and very subtle and well thought breakfast/lunch dishes. Highly recommend it if youre coming on your own (as i do) for a quick bite and cappuccino, or as a group for a sit down casual lunch.
The VERY next best thing to visiting Paris is coming to Cafe Vendome ; a miniature Paris tucked behind an unassuming looking building off Roswell Rd.. Colorful macaroons piled high in the cases, mushroom quiche, baby caramel eclairs, the fragrance of cafe au lait swirling in the air with Edith Piaf music and the patronssophisticated accents .... ... YOU MUST TREAT YOURSELF TO A VISIT TO CAFE VENDOME TOUT SUITE..
The kids absolutely love the pastries here and they can watch the pastry chef in action while the parents enjoy a wonderful brunch. Every sort of coffee and tea you can imagine, light omelettes and quiches, and simply the best salad Ive ever had. Its the kids and our favorite brunch spot.
I have been coming here for over a year. I often go here to grab a coffee or tea by myself and knock out a few emails OR I invite a friend or business connection for a bit to eat. The owner is very friendly and staff professional. The food of course is excellent! They have both high top and regular tables for comfort. It is spacious so you do not feel like you are on top of each other.
What a lovely cafe. I liked not loved the chicken chorizo quiche. It had a little too much chorizo and not enough egg. The crust was fantastic! It came with a side salad that was ample. I loved the outside seating. Its a wonderful place to hang out. Do not order a can of coke $3.25!! Wow! My family happened upon this restaurant when we were looking for breakfast this past Sunday. I loved the chicken chorizo quiche and the raisin croissant. My chai tea latte was almost very tasty. This will definitely be a repeater.
Cafe Vendome is one of the best on Roswell Road in Atlanta for eating macrons, croissants, traditional french pastries, and hot chocolate 😍 I love the fact that they allow dogs in patio and even inside!!! They have a beautiful ambience, friendly staff - you order at the counter and they serve you on table. Great location and finding parking is easy. I would recommend this place for enjoying authentic french pastries and coffee.
It is my first time eating here and it is incredible. First, the new manager Jonathan was so courteous. Though he w he was clearly leaving for the day, he made sure my pregnant sister and I were good to go before he left. Then Biana, was so patient with my million questions of the menu and allowed me to sample two French lemonades before I bought one. This is truly incredible service and an amazing first impression. I will definitely be back. The food was amazing and gorgeous. Thanks you Jonathan, Bianca, and the wonderful bakers for such a lovely time!
Tucked behind a strip mall is a small cafe with French pastries and Italian cafe. Finally, a good cappuccino in Atlanta! Not so fast... 1 oz of espresso + 3 oz of frothed almond milk $6.29?!? Starbucks and Paris Baguette is less than $5. A bit overpriced for the experience.3 stars for price. The food and coffee is great just not sustainable at that price.
This is an excellent place for fresh made authentic French pastries. They have a great variety that changes every day. I recommend the Royale. The coffee selection is also pretty good, predominantly from Colombian beans. The owner is french-algerian and makes everything from scratch there.
Two things. First, buy two baguettes, not one. Second, get one of those small portable vacuums. They leave an awful mess in the car when you eat one baguette on the way home, but I really see no way to avoid it. Great products, ambiance and staff. Ask for Hamid. He treats you like family.
This is THE most authentic French bakery in greater Atlanta! My fiancée and I live in midtown and we drive miles to this cafe for 3 reasons: 1) the best croissants anywhere. Texture and flavor you will not believe. 2) Stunning quiche that is light and flavorful instead of heavy and greasy like most “southern style” quiche, and 3) coffee that tastes like authentic Italian made coffee with expensive beans roasted to perfection. Of course, the owner, Hamid, is a beautiful person who only knows how to deliver perfection. We recommend Cafe Vendome to any people who have taste.
Go for the coffee not the food. Slow and terribly overpriced, stale tuff bread on a kids sandwich, old black greens on the sandwiches. We expected so much more but got so much less. Not to mention the majority of the staff half wearing a mask. And nothing like cleaning with plastic gloves then bringing my families food with the same gloves. The redhead was super sweet tho
Good food, terrible service. We came in for breakfast, placed a to-go order for lunch as well, based on great reviews. The to-go lunch came out 10 minutes ago, and we are still waiting on a basic order of 4 croissants to come to the table. When asked why others in front of us received their pastries while we still waited, the server shrugged and said his boss told him if he didnt take new orders he would be fired.Update: pastries have arrived, and they are room temperature, straight from the case. Not even warm! No sign of coffee yet...
My first experience was not very pleasant. My husband has wanted to try this place for a while now and we talked some friends into joining us. The food was just so-so. I ordered the Salade niçoise and it seemed to just be thrown together with a huge heap of tuna on top. The French dressing was not great. A couple of friends ordered the almond croissant which both complained about being soggy and they were very flat without the lovely, crispy croissant layers (we watched someone laminate dough but it was done pretty poorly and with what looked like shortcuts that its no wonder the croissants were not good). No one liked the potatoes - very heavy handed on the herbs and pepper but not seasoned well and were dry. But the absolute kicker was that my husband ordered a goat cheese tartine and while the menu made NO mention of walnuts, it was served with walnuts throughout the tartine so much so it would be been impossible and dangerous for someone with a walnut allergy to consume. I had the kitchen remake it and mentioned to the staff that the menu did not have the important allergen information included. We waited an absurd amount of time for his meal to be replaced - everyone at the table had finished their meals before his new one came out. When the new tartine came out, it looked very messily prepared. The first one had beautiful browning of cheese and was blended nicely. The replacement meal had two globs of goat cheese placed on top of barely melted floppy gruyere? cheese and it was definitely not a well composed dish. I cant imagine ever returning.
Really lovely place with a warm and friendly owner. He was walking around the place and ensuring that the customers were happy. Their coffee, tea and snacks are great. We felt that their desserts could beess sweet. Also, the place was quite cold when we visited on winter day. They could surely increase the heat to make the cosy. We would be definitely be going back there.
Love this place! We had a late lunch and our group ordered the jambon beurre, the salmon omelet, the salmon croissant, the veggie quiche, veggie soup and a baguette and of course some macarons! Oh, the bread is worth the trip alone! Everyone loved it. Have been here many times and everytime we have been pleased.
I give this a 5 first and foremost thank because training is a process. We were greeted by the new girl who has zero knowledge of how things are french. Lol, I say this lightly becausey husband (37yo) doesnt know french either. But she knew who to go to and if he didnt know, just bring out the owner. The owner is very nice, knows his stuff and Im surprised that when he corrected his trainee he held his composure when she gave an attitude like dude I know what Im doing except for the box things, but process and procedures Im sure shell catch on to. It was very limited french cakes, bit glad I got one, was the best birthday give I could give someone who cooks and knows flavors. We also ordered a variety of tarts, cannot say any of them are bad. They are all very delicious and worth having. My kids enjoyed the chocolate croissant and the chocolate eclair as well ... They didnt share so I cannot comment, but Im sure they were as tasty as they looked, I would definitely go to this place again to try the other cafe french things.
I love this cafe! An absolute must if youre in Atlanta! The atmosphere is lovely, the food is high quality for a good price. The employees are kind. The food is to die for! I had the chocolate and almond croissant paired with the ginger tumeric tea and my friend had their jambon buerre(ham and butter) sandwich and salad. The owner came out and spoke with us, he was so sweet and kind, you could tell he really puts love into this place. Definitely will come anytime I visit Atlanta.
The owner is a great person and he really love service and cares about customers. food is not great but the patisserie and bakery is awesome. place is nice, sunny, attractive. the perssonal/table service in general is pretty lousy, they make mistakes with the food all the time and is never on time. 2 weeks ago we were having a birthday party and a friend of mine specifically said that she was seafood allergic, and she ordered a salad without tuna, they didnt pay attention of her request and they might have used the same knife they used for preparing fish. short story , my friend had to get a shot of epinephrine to prevent an anaphylaxis shock.
I am an almond croissant junkie. I search high and low to find one that beats Proof in Atlanta. I thought this French Bakery would prove to have a contest with Proof. However, the almond croissant fell flat on all accounts. The flavor was weak, the croissant wasnt flaky at all. It tasted and had texture more like a Pillsbury croissant. It also is very pricey. The coffee is good and a very good coffee eclair.
Love, love, love this location and cafe. Off of Roswell Road, tucked beneath the shopping center, Cafe Vendome serves a variety of coffees, teas, and pastries. The inside is wide and open, inviting your patronage. The employees are wonderful and helpful with questions regarding the menu and wifi password. But what really stands out is the iced coffee, which provides a refreshing jolt and kick of caffeine. Wish this location was closer to my house and I would definitely stop here every morning!
Perfect place to drop out of the rat race and pretend like youre in Paris. Great place for conversation because its cosy and quiet. Everything Ive tried in the menu is good, and there are a number of tempting pastries and deserts. On the opposite side of building which fronts Roswell so a little hard to find.
If you cant fit Paris into your budget right now, Cafe Vendome is the next best thing. The mushroom quiche is so unbelievably delicious and its hard to choose from the pastries because they all look So good. The customers are speaking French and Japanese and its always busy .
A little bit of France hidden away at the back of a commercial building. Lots of familiar favorites such as Croque Monsieur, quiche, croissant, and jambon on baguette. Fresh breads and flaky pastries with coffee in a friendly place make for good conversations. A little jewel in a busy city. Well worth a visit.
A must-taste! Authentic French pastries (I lived in France for 21 years), some of them with a twist like the Caramelô which is basically a caramel-based opéra with the typical delicious feuillantine. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The music wasnt loud (thank you!) so you can carry a conversation with friends without having to raise your voice. I loved the details from the choice of colors, the Italian-branded coffee machines, the chairs, the wooden stools at the center island, the high-quality knives and forks.Oh and the coffee was great. Love the place! I will definitely come back. I havent tried the savory food, Im hoping its as excellent as the sweets. Last comment: you can even get cannelés, the sweet specialty of Bordeaux and they are perfect!
I found Cafe Vendome by googling best croissants au chocolat while visiting Atlanta. Though it is tucked in behind the shopping center given as the address, I was delighted with my discovery and most certainly will return. Gorgeous pastries a la Francais, artisanal bread, sandwiches and coffee were all there, but I was there for les patisserie, and was so pleased with the offerings in the pastry cases and service. The ambience, while not exactly parisienne, was very airy and appealing. I bought enough goodies to take home to central South Carolina to freeze as real French baked goods are most difficult to find there, especially those beyond my own French-trained culinary skills. Prices not out of line for either North Atlanta or Paris. 5 stars.
Overpriced. Staff is as snooty as the stereotype. Saw a lady at the pastry counter get stiff-lipped with a 9-year kid who just wanted to order a cannoli. Totally not accommodating for folks who need to bring in their laptop and get work done. Took like 15 minutes for someone to bring me an americano - cos obvs, all the pretty parents and students coupled together come before the lone ugly sulker. Also, the random soft 80s AOR dribble on the house music crushes the whole Parisian vibe. Bread is good, though.
Its been a while since Ive left a review for a restaurant but I feel that this cafe is more than deserving of the attention and, still yet, deserves more. Its a Parisian cafe settled in the lower bottom half of a strip center, which showcases the store selection of This and Thats, which are usually forgettable. It would be easy to miss this small, yet well proportioned cafe, and I did not hear about it until my friend introduced me to it.The pastries are fluffy and rich; butter is deftly and liberally used and should be if they truly wish to resemble anything like a Parisian cafe. Coffee is usually brewed from Counter Culture beans, which is a fine brand. The floor boards are ashy brown which contrasts nicely with the caramel wood tones of the tables (though some of the tables are a white-washed marble). The counter is made of black marble and does wonderfully to accentuate the different colored pastries.Everything in this cafe was designed with a purpose. The main color scheme is black, red, and white. The sign of Cafe Vendome is white against the striking vibrant red backdrop. The black comes in form of the chairs and the marble counter, not to mention the ceiling and airducts. Against the black ceiling, the vibrant red water pipes strike a nice consistent contrast that can be observed throughout the entire cafe.On the outside patio, black chairs, red table top, white plates. The two metal support pillars inside are also painted red.The tables are set ever so far apart, parallel to the wall leading down to the end against a wonderfully painted mural which shows an outside cafe of similar tables and chairs continuing down under a arched vault. This gives the immersion that the cafe is larger than it really is and adds a light illusion that one is really inside a Parisian cafe.Everything was set and colored with a purpose and it was executed as wonderfully as the pastries were. The owner himself is always present and is a verified French native. This dedication is rarely found these days. No, this is not a Parisian cafe because we are not in Paris or anywhere close to France; matter of fact, this is probably fancier than the usual cafes found over there. However, this comes fairly close as far as quality and consistency of the food goes.If you dont have the money to travel to France or are too scared to, then give this place a try.It may help change your mind, if youre of the latter. If youre of the former . . . it probably wont help.
They have the Best fresh Madeline and the food is good. However, after four months the service still needs help. Perhaps a front end manager would help. Because every time Ive come I had to reiterate my order to the wait staff. So be prepared with patience on your visit.
As if the espresso wasnt the best in Atlanta, the staff is wonderful. They go above and beyond to create a relaxing environment. They treat both me and my daughter (3.5) as if were the only customers. She couldnt watch yall bake all day if I let her. THank you for bringing this gem to Sandy springs.
I love this place!! Great food and phenomenal service. I go often to get some work done and the environment is always great. I’ve tried several different things on the menu and everything has been delicious! I am never disappointed when I try something new. Highly recommended! :)
The bread was really tasty and enjoyed the pastries too, but the morning crews didnt even greet us in and out while other male guests were greeted with Hi and Bye Have a nice day. I felt like I was treated unequally and thats why I have to give just a star. Id give zero if I had a choice. We spent a good amount of money while we were there, so its quite disappointing. Employees, especially those who stand in front, should greet the customers regardless of gender/race/background. It just didnt feel right. I wont be coming back.
Just north of Buckhead, completely hidden off of one of the citys busiest streets is this Parisian gem. Inside friendly, professional staff serve up bistro dishes from traditional pastries to fusion sandwiches while barista work the slteampunk dials on the chrome clad espresso machine to produce eye-seducing brews. This lovely modern take on a French cafe, that sports a modest sized covered patio, is bright with blonde wood tables and gleaming white subway-style tiled walls. The naturally lit quarters oozes charm and an easygoing atmosphere that will linger in your psyche long after youve returned to routines of your day. Pastry, sandwich or salad... they are all a win! SCORE: MUST VISIT
The place has a lot of potential, the staff is great, the owner Hamid comes across as a nice, genuine guy... Until you get to know him, he abuses his staff, he doesnt pay them overtime and breaks the labor law. He lost a law suit with an employee and still refuses to pay.
Grissly overpriced French bakery. Gave it 3 stars because usually the food is decent, but service is very slow and prices are simply outrageous. Not a place I try to go to very often due to its price. Location is a bit hidden, you have to drive down to the back, but those who know the area can find it.

2022-04-11I really wanna love this place, but we didn’t have a great experience. All the pastries looked great. The croissant we had was fine, didn’t feel it was fresh. We went for brunch and the food was also okay but it took a really long time though. The ambiance was really nice.

2021-10-04This place was really cute. Definitely on the pricier side but fun to try at least once. Directions to this place was excessively complicated. The worker was nice and masked but the cook in the back who also busted tables was not. The food was so-so. I got the chicken panini and although it was good, it was not spectacular by any means. My hot chocolate was good but not great (I did like that it was made with milk and not water though). Hubby ate the salmon croissant - he said it was good but also nothing great. He really enjoyed his coffee though. Outdoor seating was full but luckily they had very few people inside so it was still easy to social distance. Overall, we had a fun time eating French food but we probably won’t return.

2022-04-12I have repeatedly heard good things about Cafe Vendome but I had never passed through the doors to try it. The service was outstanding and truly exceeded by the quality of food. The food was well prepared and delicious to the last bite. The only downside we experienced is some menu items were unavailable: ingredient shortages or sold out for the day. Remarkably, when my wife heard her item was not available they asked whether they might make something similar that is not on the menu. What they created was almost the same and also delicious. I look forward to coming back soon!

2022-06-04Everything here is the epitome of delightful. The food and beverages are exquisite and the staff is kind, warm and welcoming. My friends and I absolutely love coming here for a vanilla latte and fresh pastries (or anything on their menu)!

2021-08-19What a wonderful experience. I give this place 5 stars for the service!Things you should know:I. LOCATIONIts on the back portion of a plaza off of Roswell Rd. The parking lot is out front of the cafe and we found a couple available spots rather easily.II. SERVICEThe service is why I gave this place 5 stars! Alfar was our coffee barista today. He was VERY passionate about his job--I say this because he gets to know his customers and asks genuine questions. It makes you feel valued and just sets a welcoming tone for your visit here. We stayed until the bakery was about to close and instead of throwing away the baguettes left over from the day, Alfar offered us a couple to take home..! Ive never been to a location so generous.III. QUALITYAssuming the staff gave us some baguettes at closing time, they must bake everything fresh daily. The fruity petite four pastry I bought wasnt dry at all. Very impressed.IV. CAPACITYWe found seating during the mid-afternoon on a Thursday. The booths can get very comfortable for long stays.

2022-02-10Went in looking forward to getting some really good pastry. Very disappointing. Only 2 guests in the cafe . So not busy. 2 employees behind the counter that could not stop their conversation long enough to greet me. After standing at the pastry case with no help I had to start walking over to counter at which point one of the girls said hello and that was it. I had to tell her I wanted to get pastry in order for her to come over to the very sparse case. I chose 1 fruit tart ,2eclair and 1 chocolate mousse tart, at least that’s what I was told it was. Rather than having pastry boxes for their pastry my items were put into 2 styrofoam boxes. Since when do bakeries put pastry in styrofoam? At checkout I ordered a hot mocha. My bill came to 25.00$. I went to drink my mocha and it tasted like it was just hot milk. We went to eat the pastry tonight and the eclairs were only 1/2 filled with completely overcooked pastry cream. Literally 1/2 of the eclair had no filling whatsoever. Oh and the chocolate mousse tart ? It was a chocolate and strawberry mousse tart. I will never return. A complete waste of money. They got 1 star because this review would not post unless there was a rating.

2022-05-04A slice of mushroom quiche with a few side potatoes was $14.99. The mushroom quiche was barely warm and bland. It was more like a slice of canned mushroom pie. Most lunch meals were $13.99 to $16.99. The kids item was $11.99. Croissants were good but at $4.90, not worth it. Macarons were around $3.00 each. They were ok. Coffee came out after 7 minutes of sitting around and I had already eaten the croissant. The only awesome thing was the baguettes that we took home for $5.00 each. It was one of the best baguette I have had in a long time. However, with the prices of everything, I will not go back.Further Comments: (Posted after response from owner.)Best baguette in a long time, you nailed that. But everything else was mediocre at best. Had you simply apologized, sucked it up, and said we will try to do better, maybe I would have tried again. But when you start to deflect the criticism and defend the poor food quality and lack of service by saying that eating at your place saves me money from going to the doctor, I guess I need to drop the two stars down to one.I waited 7 minutes for a coffee! I ate my croissant in that time. Could not enjoy the two together. I get homemade and prefer that but when my wifes quiche comes out luke warm at best that means someone couldnt reheat yesterdays food properly. And bland doesnt have to be unhealthy. But when there are more canned mushrooms than egg in the quiche, you have to wonder about the culinary skills. There were only four or five tickets that had come in the 25 minutes. Plus there were only five or six tables being used. The outside tables---where we wanted to sit---werent even bussed or cleaned off. The staff---I get it during these times with staffing and retention and training---performed mediocre and the food matched. Maybe it was an off day for your place, but there is nothing that will make me come back with another approach. I passed way too many other bakeries and cafes to visit yours. I can try others. Good luck.
