Canton Cook in other cities:
Wow. We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant to dine in rather than the take away only places. This exceeded our expectations. Food amazing and service great. Prices reasonable for what we got, huge servings so leftovers for lunch.Only down side is that its not that close to where we live so will only go occasionally. Already planning that!
Im so happy they opened over here, I was driving from Kennesaw to Sandy Springs for their food. New location, but nothing has changed, still the same great food, huge portions, and excellent service. They never disappoint. This will be your new favorite Chinese restaurant!
Ive been eating here since I moved to the area in 2019. I used to live down the street --now I live in Duluth but I still stop by on weekends sometimes. This place has really good food. Its Americanized Chinese, but old school with it. Fresh flavors, good quality ingredients. They have really good fried wings that are special. They have a ginger, light 5 spice type of thing going on. Hard to describe but just try them. These arent run of the mill wings that you get on the Chinese buffet! I also like the pork and house fried rice, Mongolian beef, the egg rolls and several other things. They dont cook frozen, pre-made egg rolls here! Their prices have gone up significantly since I moved to sandy springs but I just charge it to the game when I want to come here. Ive never had any problem with service. I place my order over the phone and pick up.
We had for appetizers pot stickers, and egg rolls, they were well made. The entres were Mongolian beef, pork fried rice, chicken lo-mein, and hot and sour soup. All delicious. When we drove into the parking lot and saw that it was full we knew we were in for some good Chinese food.
Barley was greeted at the door. Server didnt even speak as she showed us to the table by waving the menus at my husband and myself to get our attention. Placed plates and water down again with no words. As Im looking at the menu half the kitchen staff comes out and starts eating. Children running around and not once in 10 minutes did someone come over to take our order. More staff sat down to eat so we got up and left. No one said anything.WOW
Ive been looking high and low for GOOD Chinese food similar to my home (Hawaii) and this is it guys! I ordered Beef Chow Fun with Black Bean sauce, chow mien, and Mongolian beef. The chow mien tasted just like my moms, the beef chow fun with black bean sauce was so similar to what I had at Chinatown back at home and the Mongolian beef was so soft and tender. I couldnt stop eating it.Im so glad that Canton Cook is literally like 5 minutes away from my house. The only thing I regret is forgetting to click on tip before paying. I ordered through their site and didnt know who was delivering until they came. It was someone from DoorDash. Im sooooo sorry to my driver Duwayne. I wanted to give you a tip but didnt know how to go back and do it since it wasnt through the site. If I see you again, Ill make it up to you! :)
We had a party of 8 at 7:00 pm on a Sunday night. It was crowded, but there wasn’t a wait. The service was good! They got all of our food right, even with some complicated orders. They’re able to do pretty much anything and to change any order to how you like it.For appetizers, we got Hot and Sour Soup ($5.95), Sizzling Rice Soup ($7.50), and Egg Rolls (2 for $3.95). I would not get the Hot and Sour Soup again. The Egg Rolls were fine though. For entrees, we got Mongolian Chicken ($14.50, I believe), General Tsao’s Chicken ($13.50), Chicken Lo Mein ($13.50), Vegetable Fried Rice ($12.95), Chicken Chow Mein ($13.50), among other things. The portions are very generous. We have enough leftovers for 2 additional meals. The chicken in the General Tsao’s Chicken was very fried, so next time I might ask for it steamed. It’s not the best food ever, but the prices are good, and the portions are huge, so we’ll be back!
Considering that we live in Cobb county where there are no really authentic Chinese restaurants, its nice to not have to drive all the way to Gwinnett county to get it. The food was very good, but I can see how traditional customers would have a hard time communicating to the waitstaff since they seem to speak very little English. Recommendations: crab soup, bean leafy greens, pork belly, pan fried noodles, eggplant.
This place is extremely delicious. For now on this is where Im coming to get any type of rice wings and especially the lobster. We had two giant lobsters cut in when I believe was egg drop sauce soup or something it was amazing and you can tell it was like a little fried and then sauteed in this amazing source the rice is completely delicious its nice. Chunks of meat the shrimp the pork the chicken all of the rice is amazing I havent had most of their dishes but I will continue to come here to taste some more. Thanks to staffMy ratings are⏬Atmosphere: 10 cozyCus service: 10Clean: 10Taste: 10
My boyfriend and I got lunch specials from here and were surprised by how big the portions were!!! The amount of rice they give is a LOT and they even include a big spring roll and a chicken wing. To be fair, it is a taaad bit pricier than average lunch specials, but I think its worth it! The General Tsos chicken I got was $9.25, and had a lot of chicken! It was pretty great tasting as well! My boyfriend got the Mongolian Beef, which was equally as good, albeit the portion size being a tad bit smaller. Still enough for two people honestly. Would go here again!
Delicious. Lunch is the best deal. Dinner is a bit more expensive but the portions are great and the quality is on point. You get what you pay for and here you get a bit more cause they want you to come back. There are many food options, and I think they do such a good job making sure the food and experience are great. The lunch special is such a great options it became a weekly occurrence.
The staff were friendly, quickly prepared food. The worst shrimp fried rice Ive ever had! It was mostly just white rice, the shrimp were not cleaned, the taste was bland. I ordered gravy thats usually served over shrimp egg foo young that was a pasty gravy (flour/water mix with no flavor). They didnt give enough packets to enhance the flavor. There were many customers. I dont know their specialty, but I will not be returning. And very pricy.
The first time I went great service no prob!2nd time this lady seemed to rush my me,cause someone was behind me. She stated that they didnt serve combos... like (wings with rice)I would have to order them separate, which was 25 something. I thought was ridiculous for a simple plate of food for one person. So I left and probably wont return. That one bad vibe changes the mood everytime sorry
Blown! Away!!Spicy pork with hot and sour soup, fried rice and steamed dumplings. These dumplings define perfection! Hand made with the perfect dough, delicious filling and quite larger than your frozen one served everywhere else. These things are a meal by themselves. I have truly found my new favorite place to eat.
We ordered off their online menu and got the gourmet dinner. The menu said $36 for 2, I clarified over the phone, but when my boyfriend went to pick up our order, the price changed to $43 before tip and tax. Update your menu because it’s extremely misleading. We’re upset that we overpaid for our food.
Our family loves eating here because of the authentic Chinese taste of the foods that are served here. It is the best Chinese restaurant we have dined out so far and I highly recommend this place. There is a wide variety of selection in the menu and foods are served fresh. The foods are delicious and appetizing, good serving size and not so expensive. Its usually crowded on weekends but its good to call first for reservation. The servers are kind and accommodating.
Very good dishes. Excellent sizzling rice soup and hot and sour soup. Delicious shrimp with lobster sauce, moushu beef, and egg rolls. Tried to order barbecue ribs tonight but the waiter had difficultly explaining that they either werent available or I wouldnt like them..happen to love their little ribs so was I was a little confused. We really enjoyed our dinner though.
The worst food I have ever had. I ordered the Fish and crab soup. I was given this weird unflavored substance with Scarce pieces of imitation crab and gristles from a fish which seemed like fat pieces not even fish.I also felt rushedIt was an experience I cant even begin to put in words I will never eat there again.
I ordered spicy curry beef, which comes with stir-fried green peppers, onions, and possibly another vegetable. To start, I had hot and sour soup, which was tasty. My friend got a chicken wing appetizer and the honey-garlic pork chop appetizer.I remember the last time I was there, which was maybe a couple of years ago, I wasnt too impressed. This time I thought everything we ordered was tasty. I loved the crispiness and taste of the chicken wing skin, and the tenderness and juiciness of the meat. My dish was tasty and the beef was tender, but it wasnt that spicy and had only just a hint of a curry flavor. I ended up using copious amounts of red chili oil to furnish the spice I sought. To sum it up, if I go there again, Ill eat nowhere near the same amount of food. The food is good, but definitely not deserving of five stars. If youve eaten here in the past, but havent eaten there there for a long time for whatever reason, you should check it out again.
The Lobster, Crab, Duck are scrumptious. They have tanks full of lobsters & crabs. Our table had such a variety of Chinese dishes & we took home 4 boxes of food that was left over. The appetizers had such a unique sauce on the wings. The sweet tea was really good. They put a tea pot full of tea on the table & it was all gone by the middle of the meal. I was not impressed with waitresses, not at all. But the food is surely memorable.
This is our only go to Chinese restaurant in Atlanta.. We have to drive in from Alpharetta to order take out but wortj it every time! Wont do anywhere else. Shrimp Fried Rice and and anything chicken is great! No mystery meat here. You are going to pay...It wont disappoint unless you like that cheap fast food type Chinese food... This is not that...
My 3rd time visiting this location. Their customer service leaves much to be desired. I recently visited to pick up an order. I asked for more duck sauce and soy sauce. They wouldnt give me any but said Its in the bag. I got all the way home to find that not one single sauce packet was in the bag. They were rude when I asked. I will not patronize this place again. This location by LA Fitness is the worst. I should have went to the other location on Roswell Rd near Whole Foods.
We got to Canton II quite often and have quickly found good food combinations from the menu. Try the garlic pork chops and chicken wings from the Appetizer menu; the egg roll is also good. We also like the flat noodles with beef and brown sauce, and also the Hongkong/ Chinese wonton soup (which is not on the menu). This is wonton soup on a higher level. Make your own buffet. We also like the beef brisket soup as an option. They are closed on Mondays. Just try....
Delicious food but I had the absolute rudest female employee. I simply asked if cashew chicken was on the lunch menu and the young Chinese woman was so rude. Raising her voice and giving me the worst customer service. She slammed my plate on the table even. Every single employee there is kind except for the young Chinese woman. Good job, you just lost a regular.
Their steamed dumplings are perfectly steamed. They are amazing when you drench them in their special dumpling sauce! General Tsos Chicken is also amazing! Chinese food is my favorite but I like it cooked in certain ways to where it is not so chewy and Canton Cooks never disappoints! I at least order take out 2 times a week!
For me, this is one of the most consistent and flavorful Chinese food options around. I prefer this restaurant over the original Canton Cooks on Hammond - I think the food quality is better, and it seems much cleaner. You cant go wrong with the Mongolian chicken. The best time to go is during lunch. You get a lot of food (your main course, plenty of rice, a chicken wing and an egg roll) for $8.50. These prices increase significantly for dinner.
This place has mediocre beef chow fun- not nasty, but has no flavor whatsoever. The egg drop soup was also flavorless and watery. I also thought it was strange for them to ask me if I knew where they were located before taking my phone order. She literally asked, “Do you know where we are located?”Confused, I asked, “You want me to tell you your address?” She says yes. When I told her the address, she said that I could then order. Weird.
Best Chinese food outside of New York! I love this place. I go out of my way every time I go through Atlanta. The pork fried rice extra dark is the best youll every have, fried pork chops, general chicken white meat crispy, fried salt and pepper shrimp, bbq duck 1/2 and there is something about their wonton soup.. LOVE IT
Hands down the best Chinese Food Ive found in Atlanta. They have a great selection to choose from, authentic taste, quality customer service, very pleasing presentation, and they are open until 11 PM every night. It is more than worthe my 30 minute journey. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Chinese food.
Ive only been once, so Ill update my review as I go back more times, because I definitely will return to this restaurant. The lunch menu is standard American Chinese restaurant fare, but they do it better than any other American-style Chinese restaurant. The hot and sour soup is thick and dark and savory; the curry shrimp was cooked in onions and peppers that were fresh and crunchy. Highly recommended, cant wait to go back.
We live up near Cartersville and have been looking for terrific Chinese food since we moved here 11 years ago. We LOVE this place!!!! The Chinese chicken with vegetables is the best I’ve had in Georgia, and the egg rolls at night are fantastic. Lunch is big and very reasonably priced. (Although the egg rolls at lunch aren’t quite as good, more like a spring roll) at lunch you get soup, an entree, rice, egg roll, a crab Rangoon, and a fried chicken wing. For about $8 if I remember correctly. My kids are all crazy about the Lo Mein, it’s the kind with the really skinny noodles, and is a generous serving. We’ve gone back at least 6 or 7 times since we found it a few months ago. It would have been more often if it wasn’t over an hour’s drive for us :)
Excellent Chinese food, especially lobster with black bean sauce and chow mein with crispy noodles, shrimp and bok choy. Atmosphere is very basic. Service is good.Still open for takeout only as of August, 2020. Food still very good and travels home well. Call ahead and ready for pickup in 15 minutes.
Canton Cook II will always be a step above your typical McDonald’s like quality Chinese restaurant... going to Canton Cook II you can expect a higher grade of quality Chinese... it’s essentially like comparing Burger King (basic fast food) to somewhere like Reb Robin or Grub Burger (Gourmet style)... the food is always good and the quality always premium gourmet... it’s a little more but certainly well worth it!
There is no lunch menu so all items have a dinner7 price ($$). Every item is priced a la carte. No soup or eggroll or hot tea comes with a meal. All are priced separately. I will say what I ordered tasted good and the portion was generous. But for egg drop soup, eggplant with pork, hot tea and tip, I spent $20 for lunch.
An order of crab Rangoon from this place should cost no more than $2. It was bland and the cream cheese was dry and kind of hard, especially for cream cheese. An order of won ton soup costs almost $6. The broth was completely flavorless. At least a few pieces of green onion would have been appreciated. Whatever meat was inside of the won ton dumplings was tough, gray, and also bland. Im very confused about the ratings for this place.
Im a New Yorker and very picky about good Chinese food (American at least, havent been to China, just China-town!) I was so happy to enjoy this restaurant. We did take out.Side note: I was completely disgusted by the Canton Cook 1 by the Hearth in the Whole Foods shopping center. Bad chicken, sauces and the lo mein tasted like plastic. I sat there thinking (snobbishly Ill admit) these people are only eating here because they have no idea what good Chinese food is. This CC 2 place is different owners (though related!) and obviously different cooks and buyers of their food and produce.I am excited to have Chinese food I can enjoy right around the corner.
Just discovered how amazing their chicken fried rice is a few weeks ago, so Im very disappointed Im having to write this review. Ordered it again today from DoorDash. Was about half way through when I found what appears to be a piece from one of those steel dish pads. Its about 6 inches long. How does something like that end up getting mixed in with food? Hair, I can understand, a piece of something used to clean dishes with, not so much...
Went on Christmas Day and it was packed, obviously, but they handled it well. Put in a To-Go order because it was such a long wait and had our 3 yr old. We got Mongolian Beef, Sweet n’ Sour Chicken, and General Tso’s Chicken...all DELICOUS! Huge portions! General Tso’s was the best if I had to choose. Can’t wait to go back!
The guy that checks you out for carryout is condescending and rude if you question him about your order. The previous day I enjoyed Begetable Beef at the Canto Cook I for lunch. I ordered the dinner meal at the Canton Cook II at a different location. I noticed the small box of rice and the meal was also in a small container. I questioned the guy to ensure I had the diner size. His reply was defensive and rude when he ended his statement after I had given him the $$ S to whether I wanted the food or not, once another customer stepped up. I will never eat there again nor refer anyone!!
Terribly disappointedI ordered the veggi chow mein with white rice & a hot tea.Only ate half the white rice & picked out three broccoli from the chow mein thats all I ate, I couldnt continue to eat that hot mess...Only part I liked was the hot teaI Wanted to like this place but sadly I was very disappointed overall...Ill give this place another chance to impress me, but for now Im just a little upset I spent $20 for all that & only managed to enjoy the hot tea.
This place is a disgrace and a health concern. Upon entering the restaurant, I quickly realized that cleanliness and service were not a priority of the management. Food and napkins littered the dirty and dated carpet. The booths were filthy as well. Apparently, cut orange slices were left out in the open with no concern for food safety---which is probably why I feltqueasy after eating. In addition, the staff wins the rudeness award. Never have I eaten at a place which has such disdain for its customers. Lack of service, unfriendly servers and staff, major health concerns, and a lack of cleanliness prove that this restaurant has a total disregard for its customers. Save yourself and go to PF Changs or another reputable restaurant.
We have ordered from here numerous times and it’s always been great! But today was a different story. We ordered sesame chicken, dumplings, and a Chicken lomein. The chicken and broccoli were overly drenched in this really thick brown sauce which made it inedible honestly. I took a few bites and had to throw it away. They put the spring roll in the box with the rice and chicken which made it really mushy and gross. It had no flavor. And the dumplings were very bready. We love dumplings and ended up throwing the box of them away! The lomein was ok comparatively but the noodles tasted like burnt oil to me. We were definitely disappointed and wish we had ordered from someone else. Seems like the quality has drastically decreased since we were there last.
O.K. A couple of things. First, you NEVER come to a Cantonese restaurant for the decor, or even for the friendly people, because you wont find any. In fact, I think that most Chinese waiters to go Chinese Waiter School where they get their PhD in bad manners and brusk behavior, treating customers in a way where they wont want to come back again. Such was certainly the case here. But you dont go to a family Chinese restaurant for Four Star service or the ambiance, you go there for the food... period. When I sat down, the place was bright and fairly busy. I immediately received the usual, Who are you and what are you doing here? attitude from the less than cordial server, and I ordered up right away.I was famished, coupled with the fact that this was the first place in ATL I found that featured fresh seafood, so I decided to give it a try. First, I was rather shocked to learn that the prices were equal to that of the most expensive Chinese seafood joints in NYC. The crab cost me $50., and a simple plate of sauteed Chinese greens was $14.00. Even a pot of tea cost four bucks, usually supplied complimentary in any decent Chinese restaurant Ive ever heard of. The food was well prepared, but extremely high for the neighborhood. When I asked the decidedly unfriendly waitress for a towel to clean up with after eating an entire crab myself, she looked at me as though I personally demanded a winning lottery ticket. In any reputable Chinese seafood restaurant, a warm, moist towel is always offered after dinner, but evidently she had never even been inside a Chinese seafood restaurant. Welcome to Atlanta. The entire meal cost me eighty bucks, combined with the Uber ride, a cool hundred dollars for one dinner out. And although it was good and filling, alas, these are definitely New York prices, something to think about when coming here for a less than elegant seafood supper.
Ive eaten here about 2 or 3 times. My LAST time was last Friday. I can ordered the Happy Family, which tasted really good, however the next morning I woke up with food poisoning. A coworker told me she once experienced the same thing. The only other thing I had to eat was trail mix and some cucumber.Thank god for ACV which took away the vomiting and diarrhea but I will not eat here ever again.
I came here for lunch, they have a decent selection of food for a decent price. They have a mix of chinese American dishes and more authentic chinese dishes to choose from. I uploaded the proper photo of the front of the restaurant. The other photos on googlemaps were that of Canton Cooks 1
Ive came to this restaurant (Canton Cooks 2) a bunch of times but what I saw in egg drop soup made never come back. There was a maggot in my soup and it was very disgusting (maggots are created by rotten foods). The employees there did not care about it and only gave us a 20% discount. I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Very unprofessional
Lousy food. The place is filthy, right from the shelf at the entrance. Think Im lying? Go see for yourselves. Oh, and the cooks were sorting veggies right in the dining area. Time to pay,the sales clerk was more about the chinese movie on her ipad than saving my time. Worst 20bucks I ever spent on food.
Ordered the Mongolian Chicken, hot and sour soup. Too much soy sauce in the hot and sour soup(noticable by color and then taste). Too much sugar in the Mongolian Chicken (definitely noticable by taste). Healthier than McDonalds if they would leave out the MSG lol (noticable by the phlegm in your mouth after eating). Most people dont know any better and say this is the best food theyve ever had lol.
Very rude customer service.....I read about how good the food was on the reviews and was going to try them out for the first time....I was making my order over the phone and ask the guy a lot of question because I have never been there before!!! As soon as he was about to complete my order I asked him how much everything was and told me $17.00 for one plate of rice and veggies and I ask him why was it so high and he hung up in my face and told me to go order from another restaurant.....Never have I been disrespected in such manner they definitely will never get my business😡
Horrible called and the guy was rude and ask me did I know thein location because Im not in there phone and there is another Canton Cook restaurant on roswell rd. I called back because the other one was close and the guy repeatedlty hung up on me so when I got there I asked him so you dont answer your phone. Very horrible customer service. We are why people like you are in business.
Service is horrible now in day been going for years never had a problem but the last two times Ive been there they have treated us very disrespectful with no manners for a really known restaurant never had I been yelled at with anger telling me that my card didnt go threw throwing me the ticket at my face without telling me politely or calmly what was going on instead just humiliating my family and I finding out there machine didnt work .......

2022-04-03Had delivery from here and all the food was delicious! Loved the salt and pepper calamari. They have a great Singapore Rice Noodle. The Chicken and Broccoli is yummy. Their egg rolls are the best! And I love their dumplings. Going there is the best but the delivery was also pretty good.

2022-07-02The quality of the food was exceptional for the price. The wings were jumbo wings, and their chicken fried rice was one of the best fried rice at a sit down Chinese restaurant I have had. The portions of food for the price was very big. They did not have their alcohol license yet when I went, but the value was phenomenal. I tried an egg plant hot pot dish with chicken, and for an egg plant dish, I was not disappointed. I will definitely be coming back here.

2022-08-17First time at this new location. I bought an entree, Chicken with ginger , and House fried rice. The portions are enormous, easily enough for 4! Very fresh, good quality ingredients. Only negative would be more spice, but that is my personal preference, but I can add that.Awesome new Chinese for our area, I will return and support- we need good Asian food here!

2022-06-28Ive driven to Sandy Springs multiple times to eat at Canton Cooks. Thrilled they opened this far north OTP. We opted for takeout via their website. It was ready promptly, the portions were generous, & everything was fresh & hot. The only thing I wish was better is their level of spice on their spicy dishes. Its barely noticeable. Gimme some heat!

2021-05-29We may have found our new go-to Chinese restaurant! Reasonably priced classic fare with superb taste. Our normal place has had the dining room closed forever and we really wanted to sit and eat at a restaurant. My wife Googled the closest place with the highest rating and we were not disappointed. We did the dinner for two that included soup, appetizer and main dish - went with the General Tzo and Mongolian beef since they are good testers. The egg drop soup was perfect - very tasty and not greasy. The chicken wings were huge as were the egg rolls - very good as well on both accounts. The General Tzo was sweeter than spicy but excellent flavor. The Mongolian beef had that sweet oyster sauce flavor and was very tender. From a service perspective - it was excellent. We were greeted immediately and the food came out quickly. We will definitely be back!

2021-07-24First time trying out this place and we will never return. We ordered a few items for takeout and found something plastic in the food! I almost ate it!! It was mixed into the house chow mein, not even sure what exactly it is but it definitely put us off to eat the rest of the food we ordered. So gross.

2022-07-14Here for lunch. Price is good. Portion is good. Food quality and taste are really good. I hope they stay consistent.
