Excellent experience from start to finish. I was selling my Car to Car Max and was in and out in about 30-45 mins with no haggling over the appraised price left with check in hand! Be sure to get your appraisal done on their website as Im sure this helped with the time I was in the store. Definitely recommend Car Max and also the gentleman that helped me complete my sale. He was energetic and positive.
I purchased a 2018 Honda Accord Sport almost two weeks ago. It’s a beautiful car. Drove it home and about halfway to my house the tire pressure sensor came on. No problem; I took it back the next morning and explained the issue. A service technician pulled it in and put air in the tires. Sensor with off. Well once again half way to my home the tire pressure warning is on again and this time a warning about the parking brake is on as well. I make it home safe and sound and immediately call. They schedule me an appointment about a week out. The appointment was yesterday June 22. I arrive the 15 minutes early as requested. Checked in and was told I would get a call. I did and the tech told me I needed a brake booster and some type of switch that needed to be ordered and wouldn’t be in until next week. On top of that I needed a tire because it had a puncture which was beyond repair. which he could direct me to a tire shop and that they would reimburse me up to $200. I told no that wasn’t an option for me. So he then sent me to a tire shop and let me know they would cover the cost of the tire. I go where he directed me which was Moody’s Tires up the street. He had me call Carmax for clarity on what tire needed to be replaced. The tech said drivers rear. Took that tire off and no leak. Then the tech said passenger rear. He took that one off and no leak. Moody just replaced the rear driver side tire because they said to and they light is still on and so is the parking break warning. I called back yesterday and today and left messages. On the forth call a representative answered. I explained who I was and she asked me to hold and wouldn’t you know it!! The phone hung up. I called back and was told the brake booster and switch would be in next week and he would call me then and at that time he will check into calibrating or something of the sort. I have really bad anxiety and I wanted to return the car. Thing is everything else requires a high down payment on top of the $700 I put down. So for the time being I have a vehicle that I don’t feel safe in therefore I won’t transport my son in and I have about two weeks left before my 30 days is up to completely return. I truly feel stuck at this moment and I don’t appreciate it. I don’t understand why things weren’t checked prior to being put out on the lot for consumers to purchase
This is actually my second car from Car Max..I bought one a year ago and loved it never had any problems with it. The only reason I traded was it was a turbo and I didnt need the power or higher insurance. I was able after paying my payments on time for a yr.to trade my SUV for another one and get money to put down from my trade. Kevin worked with us and had us out of there in a timely manner. We came next day to pick up my car. I would recommend Car Max cars and service to anyone. A plus is who else has the 30 Day or 1500 miles if you dont like it guarantee!
Process was fairly easy once my wife decided on the car she wanted. Our salesman, Nick, was very honest and forthcoming with everything and patient with us, even though he was also training a new person, Lee. The car had one minor issue that was taken care of quickly (the battery had gone bad, it happens) and my wife seems happier with the car now than she was at first. She really had her heart set on a Dodge Journey, but the deal on it just didnt work for us. She did like the Ford Escape that we purchased, and now that she has driven it a few hours and figured out some of the features (no owners manual, but thats on the previous owner), its beginning to really grow on her.
This was my first time purchasing from Carmax so I didnt know really what to expect but exceeded my expectations. Everyone I spoke with from the sales department to the service department were extremely helpful and polite. They all made this purchase effortless. Great job Carmax!
I had a pretty good experience! The only negative thing is that the 1st vehicle I got had a lot of minor problems when it arrived from a different location. I do like the 30 day policy to change your vehicle if your not satisfied, I took full advantage of this and the second time around I didnt have any issues with my vehicle!!! Its been 3 weeks now and Im completely happy with my choice 😊
Bryce is are on the higher side but great service especially by Doug who helped me through underside the Lord about cars and what decision I should make and what makes the most sense.It does definitely help to check out cars in person more than online especially if the services just like what I received here
I had an amazing experience with the Sales associate Nick he was honest and helped me the entire way. I had a few hiccups along the way and they kept my car on hold until I get my ducks in a line. I recommend anyone to go here and work with Carmax for their car journey they are a great team and keep your best interest at heart.

Let me just say that this was by far the best experience Ive ever had buying a car. Eventhough I previously have bought from CarMax, I was looking for something new. The current state of the market is crazy. The new dealer had a 5K market adjustment added on top of 3K worth of dealer add-ons. Nope. Not only did my online valuation match to the penny, it was well a obove what I expected. I bought a 3 year old model of the exact car I was looking at with less than 19K miles on it. I saved over 20K!
Very unorganized, they took my down payment of $1000 before any of my paperwork that I submitted online was verified. Then the day I drove off with my vehicle the tire went flat, I tried calling the service department but they never answer the phone, I left voicemails and never received a call back. I went a whole 3 days putting air into my tire wherever I went because it was losing air too fast I couldn’t even drive 1 mile before getting an alert that my tire pressure was low. I finally went to service one morning as they were just opening up for the day for them to tell me they don’t see anything wrong, I told them it’s losing air too fast then they wanted me to leave my car there an entire day before they can get to it or spend more money at another place to get it fixed and come back to be reimbursed. I took it to tire plus and they immediately saw what the problem was and fixed my tire. I came back and get reimbursed for the money spent for tire Plus to fix my tire but my entire experience was terrible for the first week of purchase.
The transparent pricing is great! Trade-in on my previous vehicle was about the same as I was quoted at local dealerships. The vehicle I bought was $8k cheaper with Carmax than buying the exact vehicle at a dealership (same year, model, color, features, and within 2k of being same mileage). The price difference also includes the Carmax warranty. Sadly, I still receive calls about my cars expired warranty... Carmax can only fix so much.
I had an issue with the top leaking and the seat handle broken. Came in they said they would order the part and when I came back would look at the top. It’s been weeks. I called and they have no record of it being ordered. They know after so many miles they don’t have to fix things. I guess this what they were trying to do. Now I have a leaking top and no way to open my seat. This is an update Still nothing done to help me.
It’s supposed to be haggle free but they’ve done nothing but haggle and string me along. I paid to have a vehicle shipped and it wasn’t ready after a week and a half. They finally told me the title is pretty much lost because they don’t have it and don’t know when they will. I passed up other cars waiting on this one for no reason - I don’t have time to wait God knows how much longer. I wish they’d give me my money back for the transfer.
I have been avoiding your message due to my experience with Carmax. My experience with your staff was been excellent. However I am now on my 5th vehicle. I used to bank on Carmax. I have referred people to you. Your cars should be flawless before their sold. Every car I have purchased has had to go back in the shop for repairs. Then the repairs arent done. Cars are given back with the same issue they went to get repaired. Words cant express my frustration with Carmax and their quality. Sent my coworkers to you same issues cars in need of repairs. Major repairs. I have had to return them. So grateful for the 30 day return or I would be stuck with a lemon!!
I’m sitting here now in a repair shop. Just signed for my vehicle on 02/22. Since then I have had to service the vehicle 3 times. I have been here since 9:30 this morning it’s now 12 and they can’t figure out what’s wrong. Nobody at CarMax could help so they sent me to an outside shop. Terrible experience and I wish I could take this car back and park it and get my money.
Im really impressed by and grateful to the staff at CarMax in Augusta, where I purchased a vehicle on April 17th. I wish I could remember the names of everyone who has assisted me, from my first contact, a young trainee named Sam, to her supervisor Coleen, to Daniel in the service department. Although it is obviously a business, you still get the feeling that each of these individuals is personally invested in seeing you through every step of the car-buying process smoothly and seamlessly.I appreciate you all, and I wish I could give you more than five stars.
Had to bring my Car in for a light that had came on and the service department fixed the problem no questions asked. Explained that I had bought the car a week earlier from a carmax lot in Georgia and had to drive to New Mexico when I was on the way a light came on they fixed the problem and addressed another issue that the carmax in Georgia wouldn’t fix
This has been the best car buying experience Ive had. I tried several other dealers and they were pushy and uncaring. There are no sales tactics here, just honest deals. The customer service at CarMax is outstanding! Doug Miller and Coleen Whitaker worked together to get me my deal. They listened to what I wanted and walked me through every step of the process. The ease of their website and locating a car was nice. My favorite part was the sales consultants celebrating with me. I came alone but they took the time to celebrate with me and take photos. I felt so welcome. I will definitely be back when I buy again.
Love buying cars with them and the appraisal process was fast and smooth. Need better financing options but they often provide up to 5 finance companies to select from. Purchase and then refinance is the best option, but definitely buy first! Always a new rotating selection with free 250-mile delivery.

My experience with CarMax was not a bad, but not a great experience. I bought a car on Dec 26, 2021 and car is in the shop until Jan 27, 2022. So once I purchased the car everything was fine. Once I got on the highway with the car not so much. So I noticed that the car would pull to the left and the right once I exceed speeds of 60mph. So I immediately took the car back to CarMax same day. They did a test drive and proceeded to tell me that the issue would fix itself but if I wanted someone to look at it they would schedule an appt. I took the appt for Jan 6, 2022 and they proceed to tell me that the car was not safe to drive and would give me a loner until the repairs are done. I got a call the next day letting me know that the car would not be repaired until Jan 27, 2022, (31 days after the car was purchased or financed) how convenient. So I will be going up there today to either get into another car or see if my 30 will be extended for the car due to the circumstances. DJ the salesman has been awesome this entire time, I just hope that CarMax does the right thing when it comes to my car. Still don’t have my car but they are making sure that it is in great shape and the warranty on the vehicle when begin when I get it back. This is the update to the first part of story.
Son went to look at this vehicle initially started the process online, then phone. Provided all information only to get to lot to purchase vehicle to be told he didnt qualify because they couldnt accept his monthly school payments as a source of income. Dont get me wrong policy is policy but you would think all employees would know the company they work for common practices and policies. Truly disappointed with all the misinformation and the lack of knowledge. I am happy because I didnt like the car but my son had his heart set on it so instead of me looking like the bad guy CarMax took care of it all on their own. Needless to say they lost a eager and willing customer and probably a few more of his 5,682 followers hes going to vent to. #GottaDoBetter#MyMoneyMatters
Best car buying experience I’ve ever had. This was maybe my 6th time dealing with a car dealership (I like to trade a lot lol) but it was a quick experience and not an all day thing. I also love how you have the opportunity to bring your car back within 30 days if you don’t absolutely love it. Carmax is definitely the way to go when purchasing your vehicle!
What a truly wonderful experience I had. The one who helped me was Brannon. Hes young but knowledgeable. I basically told him what I wanted he delivered. I had a small problem once my 1st car was shipped to the Augusta location. However, I was able to find an even better car out of state and they shipped it to the Augusta for FREE for my inconvenience. That was a wonderful surprise and Im in love.Truly happy with my purchase.I sit in my Terrain everyday and just smile. I have my dream car! THANKS again Brannon! Ill be sending referrals!!!!!
I sold my van at CarMax. It was quick, easy and I got a very good price for it - better than the local dealer and certainly better than the low-ball offers that came in off Facebook, Craigslist and AutoTrader. I would highly recommend CarMax if you are selling a used vehicle.
My wife and I have been here multiple times, and each time has been a pleasant experience with friendly and professional staff. On our most recent visit, we needed to find a car for one of our relatives whos current car had broken down and was on its last leg, but one of the sales associates, Marc, helped us get a car in a timely manner all while maintaining a friendly persona and making the process very smooth for us. Overall, it was a great experience and if I could I would trade-in and buy a new car every month with them!
Tried to purchase a 2014 Hyundai Elantra from here Sunday I did the finance application and reviewed my options for the numbers and was pleased with them however, I wanted to do a transfer which was $99 but the lady I spoke to said the car wasn’t transferrable but I was looking at it on my phone (she was wrong) also she didn’t add my appraisal to my application so the numbers weren’t even accurate..I asked her to place the car on hold for me and I would call Monday when the store was open to see about the transfer…I then find out that my application wasn’t put in as a transfer and no appraisal was attached the guy Nico told me we would have to take the car off hold in order to redo the finance application and add everything so the numbers came back higher of course but wasn’t a dealbreaker I asked ok so when do I pay for the transfer he said I would receive an email and they had to do a walk through which would take 30 minutes..never did so a few hours later I called the store to see and a lady told me they were about to do it..called this morning they tell me the car I have on hold is in the process of being sold to another customer..credit ran for nothing..still without a vehicle. terrible communication and customer service continuously asking am I interested in another car why the f*** would I be when this just happened to me? Would you be? Terrible and lackluster. My mom just had a brain aneurysm and has been in the hospital all week trying to help me find a vehicle and the minute we think one problem is solved here goes unprofessional carmax of Augusta causing more brain trauma. Thank you for selling me bad customer service for free.
I worked with DJ and Kevin, did a trade in and purchase. This review is not about the vehicle (I knew exactly what I wanted), its about the people. What a class act! Customer service was wonderful all the way thru, and this was my first experience with Carmax. I appreciated their process, the eval and new vehicle test drive, all the way thru to signing all the docs required. Everything moved quickly, efficiently and they explained everything I needed to know and answered my questions. I would say I will visit again soon, but I keep my cars a very, very long time. Would highly recommend to others. Update 6/12/18: I have had my oil changes/tires rotated here since I bought my car in 2/2017. I am very pleased with their service, they even washed my and vacd my car today! Staff are great.

I can not say enough good things about this business. I had a car transferred from a TX location to Augusta, GA. The car arrived in a timely manor and they called me the same day to pick up the vehicle. Unfortunately after purchasing the vehicle i realized it just was not the right vehicle for me due to some underlying issues with the car. They put the car in a reputable shop the next day after i contacted them had the car repaired and while the repair was being made they made sure i had a vehicle to drive. After i got the vehicle back i was just a little to weary so i decided to take advantage of the 30 day buy back guarantee. I was very specific on the vehicle i wanted down to the color and options lol. My salesman Nick went out of his way to make sure they had another one shipped to the Augusta, GA store for me asap. the trade off was very quick and I love the car i ended up with. By far this has been the best experience I have ever had with a car dealership.
My salesman James Bennett was excellent! Three days after purchasing we realize there was water in the passenger side rear door. We brought it to the attention of CarMax But nothing has been done. We also noted a dent in a piece of trim that we wanted taken care of. We still have not heard back.
Don’t waste your time. I’d give a zero if possible.We were told we were next on the list to test drive a car. After an 75 minutes we left because no one ever bothered to help us. Yet there were MANY people standing around doing nothing.Don’t bother getting your car appraised either. We asked for that to be done, we were told we’d get our results by email. I called and asked why we didn’t get our email - he knew he didn’t email it and said he’d find the guy to send the email over. 15 hours later and still nothing.Do yourself a favor and don’t bother wasting your entire day here. You’ll thank me.
This will be my forth purchase from Carmax. I love the website and being able to search for my car. The staff is always so professional. This time there were items that needed to be fixed on the car. The team in Augusta have taken such good car of the car and me. Daniel in service is definitely a stand out employee.
Got a great car but the process was painful. They do make it easy to walk the lot and try on vehicles without the pressure of someone standing over you. The sales team was very nice but very disorganized. Had an appointment, but the sales person I started with was busy with someone else so had to start over with someone new...who was great. But it came down to the end and the rep that did not help me got the sale on paper. She did nothing, and as a former salesperson, that really bothered me! I drove off the lot feeling like I paid more than comps, but I didnt have time to drive out to the others and test drive them all as well, so ... overall I settled but ultimately happy with the vehicle. Just plan on spending 2+ hours and bring your patience if youre buying.

Went in for a test drive today for a hybrid vehicle. It took a week or more for the cat to arrive from Atlanta and be ready for me. Car was not ready. Its an electric hybrid... Part of getting it ready for a test drive is making sure the batteries are charged!! Batteries were at 0% charge, so test drive would have been using only gas... Had to reschedule. The sales person was very nice though! Ill update IF they actually charge the batteries for tomorrow.
I heard that buying a pre-owned vehicle was hassle free at Carmax. My purchase experience was more than that when I optioned to return the vehicle within thirty days when I wasn’t one hundred percent happy with my decision. The exchange for another vehicle was without any penalty and I love the vehicle that I have now. This is the way buying a car should be. An enjoyable experience.
Easiest car buying experience I have ever had! Make sure to ask for Barbara Hardy or Cody if you go and you can rest assured you will be very well taken care of. Barbara had two Mustangs brought in from NC for me with no obligation to buy either one. If you are looking for a huge selection of vehicles with fair prices look no further than Carmax Augusta!
I have been waiting for 2 months for my plate of the car that I bought and I went to the dmv they measured that it would arrive in 45 days and it has not arrived because carmax has not registered it and they charged the registration who is to blame for their incompetence carmax work I do not have a plate I would like to return them the car and put it through the biggest hole they have...
Id like to share my interactions with the Augusta, GA location CarMax regarding before, during, and after my car purchase. I ended up buying a 2019 Toyota Corolla LE with approximately 800 miles in like-new condition for a good deal of money on 12/10/2020. I will be critical of my experience in hopes of assisting others in the future. Overall, I would shop with them again, but Id be mindful of a few things next time. I hope this review helps others and also informs the company of some potential changes to make the experience better for others. I couldnt write more due to character limit, but the company can reach out to me privately for future resolution or more specifics.Before buying the car: Their selection of vehicles was great. The website is also very intuitive. I was able to come in the store and test drive vehicles without much issue. The only negative remark is I dealt with many different sales agents, but they were all responsive, polite, and consistent with their answers. The teamwork aspect was apparent, so great job!During buying the car: I paid $99 to transfer a car from Florida (about 360 miles) away and was quoted two weeks. It got here a few days early, which was a welcomed surprise. I was kept up-to-date by the sales department (thank you), and I was informed that the car had arrived on a Thursday. The sales department was very friendly and helpful still, and I was able to see the vehicle and test drive it that evening. The first issue I ran into was that there were surface scratches on the car, the side passenger mirror had paint damage, there were white specks of paint on the driver door, and later found out the passenger mirror was wobbly and loose (they said they’d fix this later after I bought the car). The pictures on the website are deceiving. They attempted to fix the other complaints, so I appreciated that. The paperwork and process of buying the car was rather smooth and only took about an hour to an hour and a half to complete. Overall good job.After buying the car: The next morning, I realized that there appeared to be some sort of film or streaking on the touch screen radio which wouldn’t come off (this wasn’t visible at nighttime when I bought the car, only when the sun reflected on it). After not reaching CarMax on the phone, I went down to the store. I was then told they had to schedule an appointment to fix the passenger mirror. I was also told they couldn’t fix the radio, but that it passed inspection (based on working condition and not appearance). The following Monday I went down and they said that the mirror was broken and they had to order a part. They rescheduled me for 01/05/2021, three weeks later to fix something I was promised could be fixed within the 7 day return period that they quoted would take approximately 1 hour to fix.Summary: My overall experience with CarMax was decent, but there is definitely room for improvement. For the price I paid for the vehicle, I did expect a higher quality product and quality customer care. They should have delayed the sale a day and fixed the issues instead of the inconvenience of multiple calls, appointments, and complaints.1. Always inspect the vehicle in the daytime and be very thorough. I believe CarMax should inspect their vehicles more thoroughly.2. If there are issues with your car, have CarMax fix them BEFORE you buy the car. I can tell a difference in the way I was treated before/during buying the car, and after. Once they have your sale, they care less about you as a customer.3. There is a lack of communication with the service department as a whole. They were inconsistent with their answers and not always polite. Also, if you have to reach the service department, don’t call them. They don’t answer the phones when they are there, and you would save time and frustration to just walk in the store.4. While CarMax doesn’t negotiate, they should have been more accommodating and understanding in fixing vehicles and keeping their promises before the 7 day return window is up.
Salesman was amazing DJ. However while they were pulling my new car out they wreck it. I was told a week to fix it. The body shop ordered the wrong parts had my car 2 weeks. I had to move right after I bought it. So I had to drive 5 hours all the way back to get my car. They weren’t even sure if it was going to be done until last min. In total it took me 5 weeks to get my car jumping through unnecessary hoops!!!
I worked with Andrew about a week. I came in not expecting much and was able to find what I wanted and get approved! He was very friendly, knowledgeable and straightforward. Even with my situation, not once did he treat me like a waste of time. He kept me updated and stayed in contact with me. He doesn’t feel like he did anything special, but words cannot express my gratitude. I’ve been to many car dealerships and I have also worked in some. They don’t always treat you great. Once all of the kinks were worked out, it was smooth sailing. I couldn’t be happier!
The car salesperson, Jessica, acted like she didnt want to be bothered with us, talked to my daughter, who was the one looking to buy the car, like she had a learning disability,just all around not interested in doing business with us, we ended up leaving, no need to go any further with doing business there. Im sure not all of the people who work there act or treat their customers the way we were treated.Thankfully she found and bought a car somewhere else.
First time buying car on-line! The Team at CarMax were great! Our Niece helped us through the search and checked out the on-line information for us. When our car arrived we got an appointment to test drive it, brought it home and have been driving every day since! Such an easy process, and if you don’t love it you can find a new one! Love CarMax of Augusta! The team was great!
Not very professional, lost a car we wanted because the car salesman neglected to renew the hold for us, and then tries to get us another car that is even higher in price but with more miles on it, but yet they won’t come down on the price of a vehicle they have that we really liked that has several cosmetic problems on it. Customer service is horrible and so is their pricing system. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
Brianna and Princess really were a BIG help!!! I started the car buying process about 2 weeks ago and yesterday I was approved for the exact car I wanted!! Initially the car wasn’t available at first, but Princess took the time to look up inventory to find something similar. I received a call that the financial process fell through for someone else, and I could proceed with the purchase of the car I wanted!! Look at God!! I am now waiting for the car to be shipped to my local CarMax. Overall great experience.
Good: My salesperson, Nick was awesome -- patient, friendly, and answered all my questions. The website is easy to use and car information is accurate. Made it much easier these last few months to filter out the cars and dealerships that didnt match my criteria.Bad: I transferred the car from Atlanta and there were miscommunication as the car was lost for a day or two. The assigned representative first told me it would be available on Tuesday, but no one ever called me, then let me know it might be Saturday, and then later said they found it and I could come by Thursday. At the actual dealership, from start to finish, I was there almost three hours. Most of that time was waiting on another department to finish up with another customer I think, not really sure; Nick and I spent a lot of time chatting. The car had some light scratches and small paint chips that Nick called over a manager to review and they indicated theyd work on it while I waited. After receiving the car the scratches didnt look touched at all and the car was still dirty. The interior windows were absolutely filthy. Im still cleaning the front and rear windows.I realize I rated the visit 4 stars and had quite a bit more negative comments. Thats because overall Im happy with the car itself and buying it at a traditional dealership wouldve taken twice as long with much more arguing back and forth. Im leaving these comments so hopefully Carmax can improve their processes.
I went into CarMax Augusta to sell my car. Michaela in the business office assisted me and she was GREAT!!!!! She made the process so easy and explained each step to me. She went above and beyond to get it done and I really appreciate it and her being so good at her job!
Nice employees and facility. Sold a vehicle to them and it was an very pleasant process. Reasonable length of time to go through the whole thing. Have bought a vehicle from them in the past and thought they did an excellent job at that time also. Would recommend them to others.
A definitely pleasant experience. John helped me find the truck I was looking for, taking extra care to make sure it was the perfect fit. Exact one from the features to the color. Financing and signing were a breeze. Once we picked one out all the paperwork took maybe 30 minutes. Will go again for my next vehicle.
Lack of customer service (avoid customers). My past experiences with Carmax was great I sold cars and bought cars and before these last 2 days I always turned friends towards Carmax. I went by 3 times in the last 2 day and not once was greeted. No Hi, no Welcome to Carmax, not even a be with you in a minute. All 3 times I went to the welcome desk and applied hand sanitizer and walked around the sales floor and walked outside and got into a few cars. Today surprised me a truck reeked of cigarette smoke and the rugged rubber mats had alot of mud. It needed a good wipe down. Big let down, even showing my little girl I was looking at getting a truck. Further more I was dressed business casual.
Manager acted like he didnt care if my car had the engine light on for the second time. I tried to explain to him my concern, back in 16 when I bought a car from carmax in Charlotte, NC. After the 3 time of returning the car for check engine light coming on, the car starting cutting off. I explained that to manager, and all I got was Ok I need to get back on floor.
I simply put in my cars information online and received an estimate. I made an appointment for the next day. I came in, answered some questions and headed to the business department. After a test drive and copy of my ID and POA (it was my deployed husbands car), I went to the signing room. I quickly signed some paperwork and was given a check for the estimated amount and directions on cancelling registration and insurance for that vehicle. It was super easy and I was done in an hour or less. I would definitely do it again. If the buying process is this easy, I would buy from here as well.
I did everything online but the car I picked was sold from under me without my knowledge. Nobody contacted me letting me know what was going on I kept calling because the car never made it to my location. Then I picked another car and was told I would get a discount and my transfer fee back for the misunderstanding that never happen. I’ve been back to the facility because my car is missing a part. It’s been two weeks and nobody has contacted me about my part. This has been an awful experience!!
Got the car I wanted at a reasonable price. Employees with whom I worked were very helpful.At my first oil change after buying the car, I discovered that CarMax neglected to include the air filter for my engine. It was only a $30 fix, but I was disappointed that they did not do their due diligence before selling me the car.The car had an issue with its AC, which I was told had been repaired when I purchased the car. The weather was already beginning to cool off at that time, so I didnt use that system. However, now that temperatures are rising again, it turns out the air conditioning was never repaired. The air coming out of the vents cannot get any cooler than the ambient temperature of the car. Of course by now I am beyond the warranty.Because they failed to do the tasks expected of them prior to selling me the vehicle, I will not be doing business with this CarMax again.
Colleen, my sales lady made my purchase so easy. If you buy a car from carmax, they will give you an excellent trade in value on it because they know that the car was inspected by them. Bought a car and traded it 9 months later because I needed something smaller. She found the perfect car for me and had it shipped. My car place from now on. Did I mention they give the best value for trade in.
My salesman was great but the overall experience sucked I was set to get a great buy on a lexus and you guys could not locate the car title and I waited a full week before I had to make a another decision there is a business being ran here need to be more prompt as well
I searched online got approved and my vehicle had to be shipped to CarMax from Columbia SC only took four days to arrive to Augusta GA. I was call to set an appointment for a test drive and I drove my new car home the same day. Everyone was friendly and patient with me as we did the final paperwork and I’m enjoying my new ride.
Really helpful. Doug was very thorough in answer questions and addressing concerns while being very patient. Gave me a call once the car was delivered and Im happy with the trade in. This was my 3rd time interacting with CarMax and each time has been great. Customer service was great, service was fast and he did this best making the process as painless as possible.The manager of the dealership was also extremely helpful in answering and handling issues that arose with my bank and other questions I had. I ended up financing through CarMax and not my financial institution, who had screwed up the loan document but was closed that day so I couldnt fix it, because CarMax ended up giving me a 0.05 better rate than my financial institution.I couldnt recommend this CarMax enough. 5 out of 5, would shop here again.

Only the 2nd time in my life Ive bought a pre-owned car and Ive bought 8+ cars over the years. The experience was truly excellent. I found the car by accident as I wasnt really looking to get a car until the end of the year but it was a dream car for me. I had it shipped to my local CarMax to avoid an 8 hour drive, and although I was worried the whole time that someone else might grab the car since no deposit was required, the honor system worked just fine right up to the day of reckoning. The car arrived, I test drove it and my consultant, DJ Jackson, was able to pull some strings so that I could drive it home that day. While I did my test drive my trade-in was appraised so everything fell into place. Ive always been really successful at negotiating a great price for my new cars so it was a bit of departure to just say yes or no when buying the car. Buying a car at a typical dealership is absolutely no fun if you do it the right way. If you allow them to sell you a car rather than buying one, its a dog fight. This was truly a pleasurable experience with the only speed bumps along the way putting the ducks in a row to take the car on the spot. And I got a great price on an amazing car with almost no mileage and 2 plus years left on the factory warranty. So now I am driving a Jaguar F-Type convertible on curvy South Carolina roads probably catching bugs in my teeth since I have a permanent smile. Thanks DJ. Thanks CarMax.
Overall my experience with CarMax was excellent. The sales effort went fairly quick, and the business office was busy, yet still manage to get me processed in a reasonable amount of time. The car itself has been superb. The financial transparency they offer is above and beyond anything Ive ever dealt with when financing, and that should not be underestimated in todays economy. My review would be 5 stars except for a couple minor things encountered. First, they only had 1 computer available for customers to acquire insurance which is required to get the car, and there was a person on it for an extended period of time. This would be fine for a small place that dealt with only a couple customers at a time, but at the time I was shopping it was busy, and I either had to wait or deal with the insurance through my phone, which while doable, would have been avoidable with a couple more customer computers. Second, and this may have been the previous owners, but I noticed that armor-all had been used on plastic inside the car, not only is this not a good idea, its a pain to clean up. While these couple things were minor, they were noticeable and had an impact on the experience.I appreciate the quality of the vehicle, and will likely do business with CarMax again on my next vehicle. The power of transparency and ease of purchase makes this a solid buying experience. Thanks CarMax!
I was told I was approved for a vehicle and that I had to sit there and call and get insurance on that vehicle before I could leave the lot. I was already there almost 3 hours and then spent an additional 30 minutes on phone setting up insurance. I paid for insurance and then after doing so was told that I was no longer approved. Now Im stuck losing money for insurance that I cant cancel on a car that is sitting in their lot until I have a denial paper mailed to me as proof that I didnt use vehicle before the insurance can be cancelled. So not only did I lose a whole days time, and money, but have a car sitting in the CarMax parking lot insured in my name. They should make sure everything is in order before telling you to insure a vehicle. I also got told several times by the person assisting me that he was tired and basically annoyed and hadnt ate all day. Im so stressed out now and have to go through hurdles to cancel a policy.
Finding a car to meet my needs was so easy online. Getting approved online was easy & fast. Olivia, my sales consultant, was so pleasant, helpful & accommodating. She made it even easier for me. When it came time to signing papers, since my husband was in Anchor Rehabilitation & Health, Zack went to him to have them signed. He is, also, a sales consultant. He was very pleasant, patient, thoughtful & very helpful. The business consultant, another Olivia, explained every paper to be signed, was very patient, thorough, helpful & pleasant. The next day, Clayton, one of the managers called to see how things went, how I liked the car & how my husband was doing. Needless to say, I am so very pleased with my CarMax experience & I love my car. Great car, great price, great customer service.

I had a great experience here. I had found a car online I liked, and the salesmen we worked with (Emory and Aaron) were helpful and knowledgeable, and never tried to push me into looking at cars I wasnt interested in. They worked with me on my trade-in to make sure I get a good deal, and they even touched up a scratch in the paint on my new car! It was a great experience, and the only thing I regret is not doing business with them sooner.
Customer service is outstanding. No pressure from sales personnel. Their nation wide network allowed me to find the perfect truck for me and have it shipped to my local CarMax delership hassle free. After sale service has been outstanding as well! I can not recommend CarMax enough!
This is a great way to purchase a used car. All of the cars e looked at were in excellent condition, and I had a car that was at another store shipped to the store closest to me to test drive without any charge or obligation to buy it. I did purchase the car and it am very happy with the whole transaction. No crazy haggling with gotcha charges at the end of the buy, and the whole process took about 2 hours vs a whole day at a dealer.
Everything went extremely well, Our salesperson, Nick was very knowledgeable, kept us well informed and did what he said he would do. When he wasnt able to be there he was thoughtful enough to have another excellent salesperson assist us. Unfortunealtely the transport and delever where the complete opposite. Vehicle promised to be her on wrong day and date. eventually arrived 4 days late. Nock refunded the transport fee.

I have purchased two vehicles from this CarMax in Augusta although it has been a good number of years since I did so. I have always liked their business model of no-haggle pricing. One vehicle I purchased was on the lot and the other had to be transported in and it was at no cost. Very good selection and the prices were reasonable.
My husband and I bought a car from here this week and it has been the best experience. Our sales woman, Tiffany Nolla, was an absolutely pleasure to work with and she kept us updated every step of the way. The biggest thing is that it didn’t feel like going to a car dealership with shady salesmen pressuring you to buy things you don’t need and throwing in mystery fees at the last second. My Sales Consultant was just that a consultant not a sales person, which put me in a good place. I felt that time was on my side , no need to hurry. All my questions were quickly answered . Very polite and professional. when I found the car I wanted I was driving home in about an hour. Great place to buy a car.
Brought a car to them the other day for an appraisal and we got a fair offer in less than an hour. The whole process was hassle free and the sales rep was more relaxed than at most regular dealers that Ive been to in the past. Id highly recommend them if you want to avoid the headache of directly selling an older vehicle. The rest of the staff were just as courteous as the sales rep we started with and no one was pushy about getting us to buy another vehicle. FYI, if youre not doing a trade in the offer is in the form of a bank draft which was easy to deposit.

This was an easy and awesome experience. I was met by John as soon as I stepped in the door. He patiently took my information as the car was appraised. We carried on a conversation right at his desk and it was only 10 or 15 minutes before he had my offer! He provided me with an outstanding professional experience as did Taun F. in the business dept. Both gentlemen explained everything completely and made sure I understood all aspects of the transaction. I was in and done in less than 30 minutes. As I waited for my ride, I couldnt help noticing how the employees waited and made sure the door was opened for all customers. They offered all kinds of help and bottles of water also. Very dissatisfied and dunno if i even wanna go back. Every single car i looked at was unavailable, they need to do better with getting those “unavailable” vehicles off the lot, because i’m not sure what’s available, they don’t even leave an indicator on what available, you have to walk up to the window an scan a qr code to find out. customer service was decent but that’s there’s juss nothing to buy .
I had a wonderful experience with CarMax Every step was explained to me as we went along, and everything was super easy. I never felt any pressure to buy. My sales consultant was still super nice and everything went smoothly when I returned the first car I purchased two days later and got a different car, nothing CarMax did I just wasnt 100% happy with the car after driving it for a few days. The sales consultant I worked with, Bob Newkirk, went through several different cars with me to find me the car I was 100% happy with and I am very happy with the car I purchased. I will be going back there when the time comes for a new car. They treated me like an actual person and not just a sale the whole time I was there.
At first I came to CarMax for a whole different car that I seposed to get. But once I got there I got told the Car is not ready. So I was very Upset but the car Salesman helped me to get another car. He was very Polite, Professional, caring and extremely helpful. I was very pleased with the Augusta Team.

I really enjoyed going to Carmax the sales representative was very personable, helpful and professional. The woman who signed the contracts was also really nice and personable and we had two kids there. They gave the kids coloring books and a crayon, when we bought they put our name and purchase up on a screen and when we went out to leave the car had a big, yellow bow on it. Nice touches. There is no negotiations at CarMax and that is clearly stated on the cars. If you pay attention this will be no surprise. They have cars that are available to be sent from online and cars on their lot. They showed up cars appropriate to what we were looking for online and then took us out to see the ones we liked the most. Definitely get in every car, one smelled like cigarette smoke. I dont blame them for not being able to get that scent out because its tough, but just a warning. I recommend going here for low-hassle, non-sleazy sales tips, although maybe you could negotiate somewhere and get a better deal, I think itd be difficult to do so and the experience was well worth it. Also both our phones were dead and they had no problem letting us use their phone.

This is the hardest earned 5 star review I have ever given. The staff at Carmax really worked to put me in a vehicle I loved, even when the first one I purchased here did not work out, for reasons beyond their control. They always treated me with dignity and respect and did their best to remediate the situation even though it required a new vehicle purchase in the end. They have earned a loyal customer and I happily recommend them to family and friends.
Everyone at the Carmax showroom was very friendly , professional and helpful, however the tri level for this vehicle was misrepresented in the ad on their website as a Sel Value edition when in fact the vehicle is a Sel only, this issue was never resolved when I questioned which trim level the vehicle in fact was, I dont now if the price I paid was for a Value edition or a Sel
I have been to this dealership many times. The first time is when my daughter was looking for a car last year. They didnt have anything on the lot she wanted and she wanted to see something right then. Wish we would have waited for get a transfer. We bought a car elsewhere and that was misery. a few months ago someone ran into her car and totalled it. We saw a car that needed to be transferred and it got there faster than expected. It was everything we thought it would be. The sales reps know their cars and love cars just as much as I do. They treated us really good and were very patient. When it came time to finance it was quick and painless. No pressure, just information and a quick process. I never felt raked over the coals.
Great experience.Found the car I wanted on line at NC store, transfer was free and car was in excellent condition. They held a week for me as we live an hour drive away and wife had jury duty, so we couldnt view it in person immediately after it was transferred to the Augusta GA. Store.No issue for the sales person. Only minor issue is the car could have been detailed a little better in my opinion, however Im a little picky about my car appearance no matter what car I drive.Have purchased from CarMax before. That car was for my teenage (at the time) son and lasted him many years past college graduation.Would recommend this company and particularly the Augusta GA. Store to anyone interested in buying a good previously owned vehicle.
I procrastinated going to CarMax for the past 6 months because I thought I would get such a lowball offer on my vehicle. Turns out, they gave me the best price of the dealers or private buyers. Great and efficient process. Next car I sell ..... I am going to CarMax first.
My experience was a good one, sales person was not aggressive totally focus on helping me feel comfortable with my purchase. After I purchase the car and took it home some of the features was not working tried to get back in contact with the sales rep was difficult, I left several messages never return my call. So I personally had drive up there spoke with service department and got it fix. So I guess call me if you have any questions or problems wasnt true after the purchase.
My significant other purchased a 2016 low mileage vehicle from this place back in May and we were encouraged to bring it back to be checked out should anything happen In the following 3 months due to their warranty. My first issue is not even 2 weeks after purchasing, the EPC light flashed on our way to work- which we later figured out was due to failed alternator. Thankfully close in proximity, we dropped it off to be looked at in their service center. I will applaud them for fast service because even though they were busy with appointments they assured us that they would fit us in before closing and if the car could not be fixed they would have us a rental car by 3pm that day. Where my second issue comes in is with their Lyft pickup service. I’m guessing they have some sort of contract with them. Anyway, After dropping the vehicle off at CarMax they called us a Lyft to go home around 8am. ( which was great- no issues with this Lyft). Around 1pm they called to inform us the vehicle would not be ready for another WEEK and they would order us a Lyft to enterprise for us to get a rental. We waited for 2hours with no Lyft to come and pick us up from our house (roughly 3:30pm at this time) . After calling CarMax to make sure the Lyft service was working (because they’ve apparently had problems with their Lyft services before) I was given brushed off answers and/or sent in roundabout forwarded phone calls that led to voicemails. Frustrated, I eventually called a Uber to just come and pick us up and take us to enterprise but apparently we went to the incorrect enterprise for our rental (very confusing- there are two enterprises on Washington road) and ended up having to order an additional Uber to get us to the correct enterprise . Thankfully we made it before they closed at 5pm and get a vehicle. But because we showed up so late (close to 4:45pm at this point) with the Lyft craziness we got the left over slim pickings which was a gas guzzling bus truck. FYI Our Uber showed up in 10 min from scheduling in BOTH cases- literally no time at all- CarMax needs to get rid of Lyft and get Uber if they’re going to supply a service like this to their customers!!! The only thing that’s keeping this rating from a one star is that fact that immediately after getting our rental car I went to CarMax and got my money back for the uber rides. But the time wasted to get a ride and rental was inexcusable for something that should have been examined prior to selling to customers
My experience at Car Max was incredible. Anthony W. (aka Dollar Bill) helped me throughout the entire process and he was INCREDIBLE. I could honestly write a story about how great Car Max and my consultant was. I would definitely return for future purchases, as well as refer people here.
One of the worst things about buying a car is how long you have to stay there. With CarMax, i told them that i found a specific car that i wanted on their app. Within thirty minutes, my salesman, Kevin Montgomery, had arranged a transfer for the car, called the finance team & called me back with an approval, told me how much Id be paying & for how long & how long it would take for my car to arrive. & all of this was over the phone so when i went to test drive the car & sign the papers i was at CarMax for 2 hours [most of that time was because i was on hold with my insurance company]. Everyone was friendly & answered every one of my questions but Kevin Montgomery was the best. I would definitely consider buying from them again
Bought a truck from them 11/23/16. Autocheck came back clean and no record of any accidents or damage. Had truck two days and discovered the frame has severe rust and that the front bumper had been replaced- the retailers stickers were still stuck underneath to the parts! Enjoyed the vehicle, had low miles. But I could not accept that I wasnt made aware of these issues prior to signing. Paying a 100% full book-value for a vehicle, I want it in proper condition to reflect such amount. I returned the vehicle on day 4- the process was quick and simple. I was asked only one question and thats if something was wrong with the truck. I explained to the manager my issues and thats that...they accepted it back. I only wish I had looked closer to the vehicle return sheet that I signed before leaving. In the reason for return column the lady posted customer not satisfied with performance of vehicle or something like that, which is completely false. Very pleased with vehicle, not so much with business. All associates were polite and courteous. Could tell that the manager was indifferent to the entire situation though, might have considered keeping the truck had some form of remediation been offered.
The Carmax team in Augusta was very professional, friendly and competent. We had seen a car that was at a different Carmax. They initiated the transfer and in a couple days we were looking at the car we purchased. Every step of the process was as smooth as glass. I had a great experience at CarMax-Augusta. I did my research, found a car in another nearby CarMax location. They transferred the car to Augusta, and the next day I drove it. The salesman, Mark, hit just the right balance between wanting to sell the car, and not being pushy. The day after I drove and inspected the car, I bought it. Clean and painless. The sales process was very easy and went well, it went downhill right after. The expensive truck we bought had a flat tire. All they did was put air in it. The front tires were new but they installed the wrong air stem. It took a lot of work and 2 different service places to figure this out.The Service manager Chris assured us the truck had been through their 100+ point inspection. Well as soon as I started hauling my car hauler the first trip the squealer bars on the break pads starting going off not even 5 days after we bought it. Chris insisted they inspected them and wanted me to waist a day to take the truck into a shop to get a measurement on pads. I said no the pads needed replaced. One of the keys didn’t work and some other things weren’t right. They finally agreed to let my local Ford dealer to fix it. It turns out all the rotors and pads needed replacing. Totally different from what Chris said with the truck being inspected.There were other issues that wouldn’t pass normal inspection. They said they changed oil but did not put a sticker in the windshield.During this time I was traveling and suddenly a major noise start coming from either the windshield or sunroof. It was very loud. Chris advised me to take the truck to the nearest Carmax location to get looked at. I took it in and the seal around the outside of windshield came out around the entire top width of glass. This is very dangerous at higher speeds. The Carmax I went to said it would be 3 days before they’d fix it. I live 4 hours from that location. Chris refused to fix it once I got home. Now I have a $40,000 truck with tape all the way across the top of the glass holding the seal in place.Chris agreed to get the key fixed. It doesn’t work and all he did was put in a battery. The fob is broken. Chris won’t return calls or emails.There is no one in the corporate office to help out. All the executive team in corporate office does is take your issues to the dealer you have issues with and never get satisfaction.I’ve even stopped at another Carmax to see if they can help me get a higher up corporate member to help and nothing happened.When all this stuff happened I went 2 days trying to get a return call. I even showed up and Chris would not even come out and speak to me. It’s upsetting that the deal was very good at the beginning but turned sour right after when I started digging into the deal.If your going to Carmax to buy a vehicle, take it to a brand affiliated dealer get the car inspected before you trust Carmax’s word that the vehicle is road worthy.

Any questions or concerns she was able to handle them quickly and responded immediately. She made me feel very comfortable with my first car purchase. Also carmax service center did a great job in expediting the body paint service requested within the 30days of purchase.
This is my second time purchasing a vehicle from here. The first time was 2013. I happened to take my car out of town to give it a test. The car broke down. Said it was spark plugs. Ended up needing tires and rotors and break pads after I purchased it. Last week I came back. 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300. Check engine light comes on and car was “shaking” upon stopping. So I take the car back. Rotors and break pads needed as well as a part for the engine. I was told I would be able to pick my car up the next day because the part would be in. Now, my car won’t be ready until after the weekend, they have no other car to put me in. They offered to have me pick up a car at enterprise but enterprise only had a huge van (as I told her I couldn’t drive that out of town). Carmax has a car policy that every car has been inspected blah blah. But they really don’t. It’s an inconvenience to the customer to have to buy a car and bring it back, have it kept so long. Not to mention I paid to have this vehicle transferred to me. I feel like I lost. I’m not even excited about my purchase because I can’t drive it. I’d never buy from them again. But the staff is nice and knowledgeable.
This CarMax might be small but they have a huge heart this is by far the best CarMax ever I’d had a horrible experience with their Orlando location but the Augusta location made up for it...the business center the service department even my sales rep Marysol are all awesome thank you guys oh and Chris he’s the best Service manager even agreed to take me home!!!! So if you’re in the market to buy a car I’d suggest you give the Augusta CarMax a chance you won’t leave disappointed!!!!
I absolutely Love this dealership. I for one Love the convenience and respect that is shown when I go in. No hassles, no back rooms - just straight and direct deals. I love knowing exactly what is being offered (financing) and what I qualify for. Their process allows me to make an informed and quick decision. Gone are the days of car shopping all day - never to return for our family.This is my fourth time buying from Carmax (and Ive recommended so many people) and its surely not my last time.I also want to Thank Tiffany - she was my sales person this time around and I appreciate her willingness to work with us and help in choosing the best offer. I cant say enough wonderful things!! Im 43 and have purchased many cars and have always hated it until this experience. My salesman, Mike Arthur, was absolutely wonderful - no pressure at all, just a pleasant interaction and straightforward information. Mike met me at the door, my first time in CarMax ever, and walked me through the CarMax process. In a word, it is no stress, no pressure. I told him the price range and features that I wanted (had no specific vehicle in mind -I drive 70 miles round trip to work and need a gas-sipper that is reliable). He gave me some suggestions of where to look and what models met my specs, but then he gave me the absolute best news Id ever heard at a car dealership.All the doors are open. Ill be right here waiting when youve found something you like. He didnt hover and act like some vulture like every other car salesman Ive ever dealt with. Around 200 cars on the lot. I probably sat in 30 cars, everything from Mercedes, Audis, to Nissans and Chevys. My family and I looked at, discussed, sat in, and evaluated the pros and cons of every vehicle that struck our eye. If we had a question, we walked back to Mike and he answered it, then we resumed our search. I finally found the car that fit my needs (actually exceeded them in every way), went back to Mike, told him I wanted to test drive it, and he pulled it around. The test drive sealed it. The paperwork took about 30 minutes because there was No Hassle - every other car purchase has taken hours! And Danyel who processed the paperwork was very pleasant and efficient. I didnt have to wait on Mike to go talk to a manager to try to squeeze money out of me since the salespeople dont work on commission, so they are more concerned that you are happy than running up the price, which makes all the difference in the world!!! I will never buy another car from anywhere except CarMax. If you cant tell from the review, I was EXTREMELY PLEASED! Thank you Mike Arthur! Ask for Mike when you go in.
Emory was the person who offered to help me when I walked in the location at 8:15pm. I knew it was late but I drive from Kennesaw to Augusta because they had the car I wanted was at that location. After I showed him the car I wanted he took us out to the lot to look for the car. We couldnt find. So my family and I start looking around the lot while Emory was on the phone with his wife. We finally discover that the car I wanted had been transferred to Kennsaw even after I called to cancel the transfer. So we go back inside and Emory starts trying to find other cars I would like. He found 1 car that wasnt like the one I wanted and pulled it around. It was everything I didnt want. Eventually the Manager Barbara got involved and she was great! She listened to what I wanted and pulled a car around that was everything I wanted and more. But it was more money than I had wanted to pay. I agree to see if this car would work for my budget. I was already on a time line because my other car broke and I needed a car that day. At one point I had enough of Emorys attitude because he had to finish the sale. I start to leave and he says I was supposed to get off work at 6 but I stayed to make sure you were happy. Well that is a COMPLETE AND TOTAL LIE. I didnt even arrive until after 8pm. I do not appreciate being lied to. So I went to the manager and told her I would finish the sale with her and not Emory. She agreed and I bought the car. I love the car, but the process I had to go through was horrendous. I will not go back to this Car Max for sure. At this point I am not sure I would ever buy a car from CarMax again.
Carmax was very helpful in finding my new car. We worked with Mitch Ewing at the Augusta location and he was a pleasure to work with. He stayed in close contact with helping us find the car with everything we were looking for. He even followed up afterwards to make sure we were happy with our purchase. We also bought the Maxcare extended warranty that covers bumper to bumper. I like what it has to offer but cant review on the process of this yet as we have not had to use it. Hopefully if/when the time comes to use it, the process will be just as smooth.

I went to CarMax in Augusta to get prices on two of the three cars we owned. We had three cars and two drivers so I was going to sell one of them and pay off some bills. First I got what my research had told me were great values on both cars. Actually more than I expected. While we were waiting my wife walked the lot to drive up her Fit Bit steps and found a Lexus she liked. I sold one car and traded the other for the Lexus. Happy wife happy life. Bob, Donny, and Alyssa were great to deal with. I sold one car to pay off some bills and my wife got a new car. Everyone is happy.
Our overall experience with Carmax was wonderful. We purchased a car for our sons birthday. Our salesperson, Lauren Holley, was exceptional. She was very helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and very professional. She was patient with us as we test drove various vehicles. We were prequalifed for financing and able to complete the credit application by phone in less than 5 minutes. When we arrived at the dealership the next day, all we had to was sign the paperwork and Jennifer(?) in finance was great. We had to take the car back in for some minor service issues and Kadesh White in the service department was superb. He kept us well informed and was able to get the car back to us in a timely manner. What a great team! This was our 1st experience with Carmax and would definitely use them again!!!!!!
I found the CarMax buying experience amazingly refreshing. Although I am able to negotiate a reasonable deal on a car, I do not always feel like playing that game in order to buy a good car. Never at all was I pressured during this experience. My sales associate, Mr. Gregory Huff, discussed my options and alternatives with me. We had an actual conversation! While other places try to force you into a vehicle, I never felt that pressure at CarMax.
I’ve sold two vehicles to this location and was happy with the selling process and offers on each vehicle. But, I recently visited to purchase for the first time. I did like how it wasn’t a pressured type atmosphere, but all of the vehicles were absolutely disgusting inside on the lot. None of the vehicles were detailed and typically had bad odors to them. Very disappointed in the condition of the vehicles on the lot for sale.
Everyone on here is right ,their cars are great and the service is great but ,there personal Carmax financing is horrible and for that I would not recommend this place. I have purchased 2 vehicles and helped my mother in law get a vehicle and I made 3 payments and they said it was due 3 months away and then charge 5.14 a day for interest on something that wasn’t supposed to be due to hit me with a 451.00 interest charge I say that is out of line especially for a family of 6 with not a lot of money. You try to get ahead by paying and these guys knock you further back with interest for being a great customer
Went to the Augusta lot expecting a different experience. Boy did I get one! Found SEVERAL vehicles that they had painted (yes, PAINTED) the leather and/or leatherette surfaces (steering wheels and seats)! Vehicles didnt seem to have been cleaned inside at all. Straws, food, animal hair and spilled whatever. The most positive thing that CAN be said is that the staff was friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. BUT painting to hide blemishes and expecting full retail?? No thank you.

2022-03-24There may be a shortage for new cars, but certainly not for used cars at Carmax. I was astounded at the selection they had available. From the time I walked into the door, looked at dozens of cars that fit my budget and transportation needs I received good customer service and efficiency. Very pleased and highly recommended. 2022-07-31Contacting carmax in Augusta Georgia was the best thing Ive ever done. I participated in the express buying program and it was exactly what it was and expressed buying program. Martha and Erica were so were so experienced and very knowledgeable about the cost, loan and the principle of the vehicle, they broke everything down step-by-step. I really appreciated it and I am very pleased and very happy with my new car and I absolutely love it shout out to the manager too that made my transition very smooth!!!!

2022-05-02This is my third Jaguar from CarMax. The first time I’ve used the Augusta GA location. This vehicle was transferred from Norcross at no charge. I completed 90% of my business online and went in to finalize the transaction. The process was seamless. The staff was cordial and the facilities are neat and clean. 14 years of dealing with CarMax and I’ve never been disappointed.

2021-10-12100% stress free buying experience with ZERO hidden fees. Its literally the price of the vehicle plus tax/tag/title, nothing more. With their No Haggle policy, its literally take it or leave it. The price is the price. If you agree with the price then its smooth sailing from there. Of course they also have extra options like their extended warranty and stuff, but its an easy yes or no as well. I had my vehicle shipped in from out of state for just 199, well worth it to avoid an 8 hour round trip.

2021-08-22I had a wonderful experience at CarMax thanks to Mike Jones. Mike was the nicest most patient car rep I have ever met. On this hot 95 to 98 degree day we walked through the car lot and looked at all of the cars I had saved on my list. His explanation on the differences on each car was very helpful. Mike stayed in contact with me through the entire process. I didnt feel he was harassing me at any given time. He told me he has been there for 4 years and he is really great at what he does. Thank you Mike and CarMax for making my car buying experience a great one!

2022-03-16My experience was satisfactory just a slow process with the amount of customers that were present on the day that I was there. The process could have been faster if more attention was paid to after a customers car is appraised. I had to wait to see an agent about the appraisal which was the slow down. But once I was seen it went smoothly from there. Not a bad way to sell a car.

2021-07-19If I could give 0 stars, I would. What shouldve been a week process of shipping the car to signing turned into an ENTIRE month! First thing, the shipping took a lot longer than they said it would. I understand COVID is still around but it confuses me how other people at CarMax at this location got their cars quick and we didnt. Then it became an ENTIRE hassle to just get the paperwork done. First, they pulled my husband and Is credit over 5 times so I have SEVERAL hard inquiries on my credit, which dropped my already low score. Then, they said they couldnt pull up my husbands information, even though he is MILITARY, a government employee. Come to find out, his credit was frozen by our credit counselor and we got it unfroze within a day. Checked days later, they still couldnt find his information. Keep in mind, I asked Carmax the first time it happened if they could let us talk to corporate to prove his identity and they didnt even want to. They tried to convince me to get another car but this was my DREAM CAR. Also, they made me do the contract in my name alone since I have wasted over $100 in cab services to try to get the car. With that, my credit went down TREMENDOUSLY even more. So its been about 3 weeks since Ive paid to have the car shipped and I had to purchase it in my name since they still had issues with my husbands identity. My husband had to unfortunately drive over 2 hours from his base while in the midst of doing important things for another deployment, to prove his identity the next week. FINALLY, after an entire month, they worked with us to prove his identity and I got the car in my name and his. This was the WORST car buying experience Ive ever had. My credit is almost now past poor scoring and I never will work with Carmax ever again. The management in the store and corporate is worse than the agent at the store who helped me. If possible, I will refinance once my credit is well enough and be done with Carmax for good. I hate this location and the entire business infrastructure altogether. Why wouldnt they just help us out to shorten the processing time? It was just RIDICULOUS. I will be putting a formal complaint on their corporate website, along with the BBB.
