Wonderful food......BUT.......2 out of 3 times you wont have all of your order and/or correct order. Havent been in 7 months thought I would give another try...............some things never change. Still the same

Good food, sometimes too salty, but overall, good place to eat. Wait time is bit to long though and when you place an order over the phone, and go to pick up your order, sometime your order is not in the system or ready and you would have to re-order all over again. They need to be better organized with orders being place over the phone.

Called in an order of 2 catfish dinners with onion rings, picked it up an had 1 order of onion rings and one french fries. Very minor issue but I did not want fries. When I pointed this out the cashier stated “thats what you paid for!”, not “I’m sorry let me get u some onion rings.” Or” I’m sorry who ever took your order made a mistake, let me fix it.” The cashier and the other 3 employees watching the exchange gave me the stink eye as if I were trying to get over on you. You can keep the difference between fries and onion rings. AND your employees, it will be a cold day in hell when I come back. You used to be a family oriented Resturant, what happened?
Chicken breast still pink on the inside.Customer service is terrible. It has changed so much since the original owners turned it over.

The food is good. But the service is awful from some employees, especially on the phone, they hang before you can finish your order, They have an attitude. Im not saying you have to be overly polite but when working with the public you should have some kind of customer service skills, Just think if it was you on the other side. Would you like the attitude and rudeness, you show towards me and others?
Food is awesome. Last food score was 100! It is a small place so only a couple of sets of people can done in at the time, but this place booms with business. People know where the foods at! If you buy the fried chicken which is kinda their thing its pretty fast service, but ordering their seafood, etc takes a long time to get because they cook it fresh. Their chilli and slaw dogs are out of this world and the burgers aint bad either.
Most of the time the wait time is the worse part about Carters. With that being said, I prefer Carters over KFC. Carters has been my favorite chicken place since I was a kid. And still is today.
Best fried chicken! Great sides and pefect sweet tea.....whats not to like about that?!? Seasoned staff turn in around.....regulars know they are going to get a perfectly cooked meal so the place always has a line at counter or drive thru. Not many tables to dine in so most take out. Great southern fried foods and other classic southern dishes. We always get fried chicken unless its Friday and get fried fish.
Great food, lousy service, but go here anyway.I am staying in a nearby hotel and went here based on the reviews. The chicken is really good, the slaw is really good, the fries are fries.But I ordered a three piece dinner with a thigh, a leg and a wing.I told her again I didnt want a breast.I could tell she wasnt paying attention, but a storm was blowing in, and I headed back to the hotel as fast I could after they handed me the box. Of course, I got a breast and not a thigh.Still, really good chicken.
This is a good place to get fried chicken, fish and chicken livers. I drive 20 miles to get it because the competition has gotten too greasy. You know the one named after the state above Tennessee. Wish they had a place closer.
I travel all the way from Atlanta just to come grab their chicken or liver. Amazing, I have not found another restaurant like them at all. I do wishthe building was a bit bigger but hey its probably in their budget. Only thing I saw was that the cooks had long beards which were not covered. Plus the long hair not tucked in a hair net. If they can fix this then they will definitely get. 5 star review. Just need to be a little more presentable if customers can see you from the front
Been eating there for years and the food was always on point except for tonight. My food was really salty and cooked too long. Customer service was not good either. Waited at the window for 20 minutes before anyone even said anything to me. Maybe do better next time.

I know that Carters is famous for their chicken but dont over look the catfish dinner. As good as Ts in Augusta. Call ahead to avoid wait. Yum yum and lip snaking good.
We try to eat at local businesses when we travel and this place did NIT disappoint. We walked in and the line was to the door at 11:15. I knew we had come to the right place. The fried chicken is absolutely out of this world. One of the best I have ever had. The fries are coojed perfectly and the come slaw is too notch. It is mildly sweet, so I could make a meal out it by itself. Then to top it off...sweet tea made right. You will NOT be disappoibted here.
I order a chicken liver plate and a side of onion rings, The onion ring were bigg and beautiful Mann I ate off it twice! aand got full both times plus I eat like a man Lol 💜😏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Was very yummy😋
I love the food it is fantastic but the service is horrible everytime we go there the attitudes we get for no reason is unbelievable and to be honest I feel like Im treated this way because of my skin color ,im sorry to say that but you dont see how they look at us or deal with us not to mention it took 32 minutes to get my food while I watched 6 cars that were behind me get theys
By far the best friend chicken, fried shrimp and fish takeout dinners in area. Food is always prepared well with generous portions at reasonable prices. If you have not visited, I would recommend your visit especially north and south bound I 75 travelers.
Love getting my fried chicken livers from Carters. They have the best anywhere. Workers always kind and courteous. Bathrooms clean. Chicken always Great!!! What more could you ask for?
First off the cashier Im assuming was new said it was going to be a 15 minute wait on the chicken okay no problem but that turned into a 40 minute wait the employees all had attitudes. This place was highly recommended but I will never go back food was bland and not worth the WAIT!

Country fried chicken place. Ordered BBQ sandwich. It was a pulled pork sandwich with the sauce squirted on. The onion rings were crispy if not just a little greasy.Ok. Not great. Not bad.
On Thursday I bought a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. I ate only 3 fries because they tasted like old grease and were barely warm. Then about 2 am I woke up with severe cramps in my lower stomach, sat on toilet for about 15 mins agonizing in pain, sweating profusely and felt like I was going to pass out. Finally made it to bed,then all day friday severe pain shooting thru my lower gut. I have eaten there many times but I wont go back after this. I do not get sick and this made me feel like I was about to die. They really need to change that grease every 2-3 days so no one else ends up like this. Its 8 pm and still pain. This is the second time in a row they got my order wrong. The girl that took the order even wrote it on the ticket and it was still wrong.The food Is great. Service...not so much.
If you want good fried chicken, fish, shimp, hotdogs(slaw), fries, livers, gizzards, the best sweet tea, and the best coleslaw, then Carters Fried Chicken is the place for you. The best in town.
Food is good but they really need better employees to work for them. You never get the same attitude from the same employees. I could hear how the girl at the window spoke to the car in front of us then when we pulled up it was a different tone all together.
1 girl there was so rude. I asked for an application. But soon gave it back because she was b n so rude. When my food came up. It was put on the counter and she just left. And when I asked for a bag she yelled we put it in a box. Well thats rude maybe she was the imaginary manager. And I did tell the manager y I was giving back the application she just nodded. RUDE.

Freezing inside livers burnt up gizzards very tough
Had the worst cheese burger l have EVER had in my life. It was not fresh, was extremely dry with very little toppings. The burger tasted like it had been sitting all day. I could not eat it and threw it away.
Im visiting family, just went through the drive in to get sweet tea and the battered fries...we had to pull over just to eat them hot out of the box! Delicious!! Cant wait to come back for the fried chicken.

As always everytime Im in town there my first stop. Yall owe me a fried pecan pie man. Me & the family raved about these pies but they were out! I had to let them try a couple of things from Carters. Fried gizzards, livers, chicken wings, ogra & of course the pork chop sandwich.
Food is always cooked fresh and Hot when you get it. They have Batter French Fries that are the best. If we are having Hot dogs for a meal at home we make sure our slaw comes from Carters.

The BEST Cheeseburger, all the way, around these parts! Angus beef on a Captain John Durst bun. Pair that with an order of Carters own battered fries and youve got a perfect lunch.
Carters is the best chicken around. I would put them up against any name brand restaurant that serves chicken. Check them out. They will make you a believer and great taste.

Livers were so hard you could not chew them. Steak sandwich was really salty. I did take it back and then I was very pleased with the replacement.
The food is excellent. Call ahead during peak hours because they get pretty busy.
If fried was a food group then this place would be recommend by the USDA. They serve large servings of good fish, chicken, coleslaw, and friendliness. Skip the KFC folks and try out this joint.

2022-03-21This locally owned and operated restaurant is the place for fried chicken. I usually get chicken strips and fried okra, but the gizzards and fried shrimp are good too. A little patience is required because the line is long, and the food is cooked fresh to order. Calling ahead for takeout is strongly recommended.

2022-06-03The food is usually good & fresh but lately the quality has gone downhill. I ordered 2 orders of the tenders and fries combo ( my usual) and my food wasn’t hot at all. & the drive thru has gotten significantly slower. Definitely a hit or miss .

2022-06-29They have the worst attitude in the world if I ordered three thighs and paid for three thighs I want what I paid for you have to pay extra for three thighs and I paid it only to get my food I have everything but thighs instead of being told we didn’t have any done after you get my money this place needs to be shut down this is ridiculous and I keep giving them chance after chance this is unacceptable they need to work on their attitudes up there and if you don’t like your job find something else nobody asked you to work in fast food yeah we eat it of course we do but come on now my money is green just like yours is respect what I ordered if you didn’t have it tell me at the window instead of taking my money pulling me up bringing my food out and then Saying when I go in and my food wrong you say we didn’t have any thighs

2021-12-17It was busy so I understand the longer wait. Didnt get the usual portion size and food wasnt seasoned like in the past. Still dont miss a chance to stop by when Im passing thru south Georgia. Been stopping by for over 20+ years. Adels finest!
