Michael was Extremely courteous and very polite. His vast knowledge was a huge help for me and my wife. I was looking for a Reputable company that I can be a lifetime member with and by the way Michael conducted his self I believe I have found that company. I would highly recommend Casteel based on my initial appointment with Michael. He represents that company well and I hope they realize what an asset he is to the company.
We have been longtime customers of Casteel in huge part because of their employees. We recently had our service visit and learned that we were in need of either an expensive repair or a new system. Clint Fields came out and was incredibly helpful in making sure we knew all our options and that we got the best system within our budget. It was less than 24 hours between estimate to having our system fully installed. The team that came out to do the install was equally professional and thorough.
Truly very, very pleased with the outcome of my under-cabinet and kitchen floor lighting project. First rate! I will certainly consider Casteel as my primary home electrical service once my new home warranty expires. Chad was thorough, professional, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Kudos!
My hot water heater stopped working and Casteel sent someone out within 2 hours of my call. The plumber, (Travis) I think was his name was, listened intently of the issue I was experiencing, gave some input about the heater based on his experience, did some research and got it back working within an hour. Everything was left clean and tidy. He was super polite and efficient. Couldn’t be any happier with the service and will continue to use Casteel for all heating/cooling/plumbing needs.
Technician was timely, and professional. Eric listened to my concerns and addressed them with complete understandable responses. He respected my home as if it were his own. Ive been using Casteel for HVAC service for a while now and Im always generally happy with the outcome but this was probably the best experience Ive had to date.
Casteel prides themselves and even has their tag line that reads: We will take amazing care of you. We have been a loyal customer for quit a few years now. We scheduled a PM service a week ago. Because they are busy with more profitable emergency services, they gave us a 24 hour notice that we needed to schedule. Nevermind that we have been a customer and schedule regular PM services to avoid emergency requests. But I understand that we are NOT the most profitable for them at this point so they call/email the day before to tell us we need to reschedule. Nope! Ill take my business elsewhere.Thank you for considering the loyal customers you have!
Larry was great! He was prompt, professional, very knowledgeable, but most importantly honest in his recommendations.He also went above and beyond to help ensure he was able to fix our “aged” heater as snow was expected the next day. I will definitely use Casteel again because of service Larry provided.
Our AC stopped working and experienced a pipe leak at the same time. Hot and without water. BUT this company took good care of us. Alex helped us understand the different AC options and Jeff was very personable and explained everything I asked and more. All good experiences with both issues taken care of quickly!
Highly recommend! Booking my appointment online was a breeze and the entire pre-appointment communication from the company was top-notch. I received a text and an email identifying my service provider and a link to see his progress toward my home with an ETA. I also received a call to collect info on my existing water heater and my specific issue in advance.Once he arrived, David was friendly and knowledgeable. He provided me with all options to fix my water heater issues and, once I made my decision to replace it, he installed the new one professionally and in the time frame quoted. He did an excellent job and I highly recommend him and Casteel!
The installer and his team were excellent with maybe one exception - we were told we could come and go during the installation window, but it was not as simple as that when it came to my wife taking the kids to an event that started after installation. We told them ahead of time about her schedule and need to leave shortly, but they parked one of the vans in our driveway in such a way that my wife had to exit through the grass and our neighbors driveway. This is somewhat understandable given the timeframe and complexity of our job and they did excellent work but it wouldve been better if we would have known up front so we could have planned that way beforehand. Everything else from sales to installation and the product demos was excellent and met exactly the service and support we have come to expect from your company over the years. Well done! We will continue to recommend you to friends and family and anyone who asks.
Timothy has been to my house twice. Both times he identified the immediate issue and overall root cause very quickly.Ive had some folks out here jump straight in to entire system replacement without pulling plugs for a proper diagnosis, but Timothy did that diagnosis and made sure I was aware of what exactly the immediate problem was, what future problems I may have as a result of the installation style of the plugs, then made it my choice from there, and didnt push me either way.Super efficient root cause analysis skills here, good salesmanship (options!), and totally respected my home - didnt wake the kids from the nap or leave a mess.10/10
I needed an electrician to do a few things quickly before my daughter came home for the holidays. I found Casteel through an online search and was able to see the available times and book it right then for the next day (thanks, Universe!). Timothy was the technician that came to my house and he was wonderful. I got lots of communication leading up to his visit (even his picture) and he did a great job of explaining everything and answered my questions and gave me estimates for other things on my list. He was efficient and pleasant. I will definitely be calling upon Casteel again.
I had a very experience with Casteel. The last visit was the third time I employed Castell for service. I have had plumbing and electrical work done. Chad Pruitt was the most recent Casteel employee at my residence. He was professional, personable and knowledgeable. If you want good service Casteel is the company I would recommend and if its power/electrical Chad is the guy you want.
Castell tech came out to my home to repair a dripping / leaking shower head and knob on Friday, January 24, 2022. They were able to send out a tech the same day, but work rendered was unsatisfactory and leak was not repaired. Im still waiting on a call back from a plumbing manager to get my concerns resolved.
Jamie was our service tech. From the beginning to the end, he was wonderful. He explained every process and made recommendations for us to choose from. He was professional, personable and his old-school knowledge was a welcome change from other techs we have encountered. Despite the circumstances, it was a pleasure having Jamie in our home. I will recommend Casteel because of this experience.
I am a realtor and we interviewed several come for replacement of 3 units. We decided to work with Casteel. The decision has been a great one. HVAC is expensive and we have been pleased with the service and attention to details that Casteel has provided. We would highly recommend.
Hands down the WORST ever. I requested this company to come out because my ring doorbell wasnt working. They will not give quotes on the phone or ranges they said they have to send someone out. When someone comes out, you are charged an $89,00 dispatch fee PLUS a $20.00 FUEL surcharge. Mind you, they are 5 miles from me but they are charging me for their gas. Guy comes out and says I need a doorbell transformer. Doorbell transformers retail cost is $20 (Im sure they pay wholesale). He didnt have it with him and had to leave to get it. Comes back, pops it in and charges me $600. For $600 I can get an entire surveillance system installed with equipment included. They literally charged me $600 to look at a Ring Doorbell. 2 days later it stops working and he comes back for a second visit and tells me I need an entire new Ring Doorbell. I order a new one for $200. A new guy comes out for a third visit (during the wrong time slot), sets it up in 10 minutes. I call other places to validate this price and they all tell me it was highway robbery. I call to speak to a manager and was told it would take 24 hours for someone to call me back. 2 days later I call back because I didnt hear from anyone and Im told its 24 business hours which is 3 days. I demanded to speak with someone and spoke to Rebecca. She was extremely professional and nice and handled the situation by issuing me a credit card. She is the reason I hesitated posting this review but figured I would let people know to get an idea of the cost and services upfront to avoid this and to be careful about this company and their charges. They did end up agreeing to righting the wrong but the entire experience was stressful and took 3 days of my time. Now lets see if the credit card actually gets a credit.
I had an issue with a leaking pipe. The plumbing service we used prior was unavailable, so I tried Casteel for the first time. I am very happy with the experience and will use them again. Our plumber, Matthew Rees, and the electrician, Timothy Rollins, are excellent. Both gentlemen were very professional and thorough. Big thanks to the dispatcher for getting someone out to us on the busy holidays. Really appreciate the service!
Ive only used the hvac services. Excellent customer service. Great company with knowledgeable technicians. Ive been a loyal customer for about 5 years. They always recommend the best option and not the most expensive. They work with you and your budget. The customer service reps are always friendly and helpful. In have recommended to multiple neighbors who now also love this company. I highly recommend them. It doesnt matter which technician you work with. They are all friendly and helpful.
Buyer beware of this company. I bought two a/c systems plus a water tank from them last year. I was promised by the salesman I would receive two $250 gift cards, one for each system purchase. Sixteen months later and no gift cards. When I called months ago I was told the salesman no longer worked there and there would be no payment of the cards.During installation of the ac units, they damaged one of my furnaces and made me pay for a new furnace because the one they damaged couldn’t be repaired. They also installed the water heater incorrectly, but did send someone out to correct the issue.Finally, I called Casteel for service earlier this year for a replacement part involving the water heater. The technician quoted me a price and when the statement came it was over $200 higher. I called the company and was told they would contact the technician to rectify the situation. Still no correction to the bill two months later! I’ve been more than patient with Casteel but they do nothing to satisfy the customer. I’m done with this horrible company.
Our A/C went on the fritz at the peak of summer heat. Casteel made it easy to book an appointment on-line & when I called to modify the appointment, every person I encountered was extremely kind & professional. My tech arrived on-time and was extremely thorough...clearly explained the issues and didnt try to upsell me on things I didnt need. I could not speak more highly of Casteel and will definitely be using them again in the future.
Everyone at Casteel was extremely helpful. From Matt, who diagnosed my problem and told me all of my option, Hugh, who thoroughly walked me through pricing, and Damon and Marcel, who worked so hard to get my entire system replaced in one day. The team was very responsive and answered all of my questions. I am confident that I made the right decision hiring them.
Everyone we spoke with and worked with was very friendly, professional, and efficient. Truly appreciated the speed with which the task was completed, as our heat went out during a cold snap. Came out Saturday night to investigate the cause, someone else arrived Monday evening (based on our schedule) to give us a quote, and installation began immediately the next morning and was completed within 6 or 7 hours. Appreciated the different options being laid out for us based on cost, and the 10 year warranty is definitely a plus.
I had three other companies come out - none of them could figure out the problem. Cody figured it out, and brought Matthew and some other equipment out the next day and it is fixed! Cost was very reasonable. They were both very professional. I will definitely call Casteel again!
My upstairs A/C unit went out. I made an appointment online, only to be told after the first appointment was missed that the online system had glitches they were aware of. After the second missed appointment I was told they were sorry. The third time, the technician showed up. My upstairs air had been completely out for 1.5 weeks at this point. The technician was well-informed and professional, however my bill was a surprise. He charged me $150 to replace the filter for my working system (have since been told by others that it should have been closer to $50) and $25 surcharge for gas, which nobody made me aware of. He also quoted me an outrageous price for a new system. I have since gotten four more quotes and this was the highest by 4K. This was opportunistic price-gouging, and for a Christian company very disappointing.
Samuel was very professional. Explained things in detail as well as told me what to google to make sure what he was saying was true. Was not looking forward to having to get a new ac unit but they have great deals and are very easy to work with. Highly recommend this company. Oh and they came out on a Sunday morning. I would give Samuel 10,000 stars if I could. Very impressed!!
Casteel came through once again! The newly installed 4 ton unit we purchased in June was not providing the cooling we needed for this hot summer so Casteel came back and installed a 5 ton unit upgrade for no additional charge! All work was done promptly and we couldnt be more thankful. Mike and Skylar were great technicians. Thanks again Casteel!
Overall I thought I was getting a great deal, the team was professional. However, I realized that when I chose to only update my ac not the furnace coincidentally after my new ac was installed suddenly the circuit board on my furnace didn’t work when In fact it’s was validated prior to by a competitor to be in functioning order. I now have a brand new ac that isn’t working.
The experience was AMAZING! Ricardo exceeded my expectations. My thermostat stopped working so I called my regular HVAC company. They put me on a waiting list and said they were not sure if they could be here same day. So, I called Casteel. They confirmed me for a same day appointment for a window of time. They exceeded my expectations because within an hour of me setting up the appointment, I received a call that the technician was on his way, before the allotted time window. Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable on my Nest thermostat and fixed the issue in less than one hour. Kudos to Ricardo! Great service, speed, friendliness and professionalism. I am warm again! :)
Initially I was happy with Casteel. Turns out they only perform when you are about to pay them large sums of money. New system installed less than 3 years ago. Now having a problem. Was told a tech would be available tomorrow between 8am and noon since it is under warranty. Received a confirmations text for an appointment 12 days from now. Called to see if this was an error and was told no, it will be 12 days.
I have been a Casteel Customer since 2005 and never had an issue until this year. Earlier this year I had made an appointment for June 10th for them to come and service my AC unit for the Spring/Summer. They cancelled on me the day of the appointment after they confirmed the appointment and rescheduled me for June 23rd, they did the same thing and rescheduled me for July 6th, did the same thing and rescheduled me for today and they cancelled the appointment they confirmed yet again, same day.My ex-husband had a call this past Tuesday from Casteel stating they had 2 cancelled appointments and wanted to fit him in earlier than what he wanted. He called me and asked if Casteel had come to my home yet, I told him no and that is when I was told that Casteel tried to push his appointment up, and he isnt even a customer yet in his new home. So it seems they are trying to bait and switch.So they cancelled on me a total of 4 times. They have not only lost my business, but my ex-husband, who had them scheduled as well is cancelling his appointment in the morning. My ex and I have been long time customers of Casteel, but the fact that they do not honor service agreements nor appointments is unacceptable. This company has truly gone down hill. It seems they only want you to sign a service agreement, not service until your unit breaks down.Stay far away from them as possible, unless you want to be scammed.
“Booked” an appointment May 19 for a service/tune up. Received a confirmation email response stating “ A Casteel agent will reach out shortly to confirm the exact date and time of your visit.” While waiting I continually receive text messages telling me sane day service, we’re available weekends, etc. After no confirmed appointment and 12 days later, I called the company and was told they as of last week they aren’t doing maintenance calls until after June 21. This is not a way to run a business! Why not call or email me this? Besides my original request was nearly 2 weeks ago. I don’t know what kind of work they do, and I’ll never find out because I plan on calling another company.Company contracted me and was very apologetic. Made me an appointment for the following week. Technician was very professional. Did the $79 tune up coupon. No refrigerant needed. Just changed the furnace filter and cleaned the outside unit. Additional $20 fuel charge added.
Jason with Casteels installation team is awesome! He was very detailed and took the time throughout the installation of the HVAC to listen to my questions and gave me clear answers that made sense.He put together the pieces of the heating and air conditioning system precisely and in a detailed manor.Casteel does an excellent job of coordinating and after work by warranty registering all the equipment and letting us know how to maintain our new Lennox heating and air conditioning system. And taking the time to show us how the new thermostat functions.The install was very clean and neat. Clean up after the job was GREAT!
A/C went out on a very hot day. I called and asked Casteel if they could come out immediately and the A/C was fixed quickly by replacing a part. They were in and out in no time. Michael was very professional, on time, fixed our issue and answered every question. I will definitely call Casteel in the future for any cooling/heating issues.
Steve & Casey, did an outstanding job. Very professional and courteous gentlemen. They kept me updated throughout the entire installation.They seemed very experienced and knowledgeable. After 2 other proposals and conversations while during research to have A/C unit replaced. I decided to move forward with these guys. Jo Shin is my rep, whom Ive also sent leads too! Super knowledgeable guy and most importantly, I did not feel like I was being ripped off! Enjoyed working with him and the installation guys were Fantastic! I contacted Casteel Plumbing for a clogged tub and clogged bathroom sink due to slow drainage. Ryan came out and he was very efficient and completed the task. The issue is the cost, it was $399. for the bathroom sink and $339. for the tub. The sink and tub required only minimal plugging and a small plastic stick with little filler on each side to bring out hair. The cost of the job was astronomical $700. plus was the payment. This is way above what it should have cost for a minimal slow drain.I wanted to update my review on Casteel Plumbing.After making my comments about the company I received a response from the company, I thought at first it was just a form response sent out to those who make comments. NO! I was wrong this company reached out to me and made it right by reimbursing me for the cost of the sink. They are a company of integrity that stands behind their job and fair pricing. Like I said in my earlier review the technician did excellent work! The company came through on the pricing. I now have a company with integrity and quality for my home. Highly recommend this company! 5STARS!!! Thank You!
I called Tuesday for service, and had a technician scheduled Thursday to arrive between noon and 4pm.Just before noon I called to confirm, and was told the technician was at the stop prior to mine and will call when he is on his way. At 3pm I called and was told he was finishing up and will be coming soon. At 4:30pm I called again and was told the technician would be here soon.I had a second company scheduled for the following morning, and they were about to close, so I called and cancelled them. At 5:45pm, Casteel called me and canceled and said I would have to wait a few more days for an available technician. They made no effort to attempt to get me a technician the next day, and never apologized.I know that they are busy during the hot season, but the lack of basic respect and customer service is disheartening. I suggest staying away from this company if you are looking for a dependable service.
I replaced my entire HVAC system a year ago and was happy with service and installation. The unit has been working flawlessly since it was installed. My only concern was that for the price I paid, I thought that it should have included some complimentary service/tune up plan.
I had to replace my Air Conditioner. I met with Chris from the Service Dept, Blake from Sales and David and Jason for the installation. All were professional in every way. They explained every detail and kept me informed of their progress. I would reccomend Casteel to anyone with a need.
Casteel sent a highly professional, knowledgeable and respectful employee, Michael Dawson. He handled the service quickly and perfectly. He is the kind of employee every company hopes for when they deal with customers. I will be doing business with Casteel - and asking for Michael - again.
I could not be more happy with Casteel. That statement includes the service tech, Ron, who came out and showed me the problems that were arising in my 18 year old heating and air conditioner, to Brett, the outstanding sales person and finally to Jason and the crew that installed the new equipment. Great job!
I contacted Casteel regarding a clogged drain. I had used them before to install a water heater for me. The technician, Joshua Burpee, showed up on time. He was very pleasant and gave me the impression that he was very knowledgeable of the type issue I had. I was very confident that he could resolve my plumbing issue and he did. I would definitely recommend Casteel Heating & Plumbing Co and Joshua Burpee based on the excellent service I received.
I had my AC and furnace replaced by Casteel. They came out SAME day to quote a new system. Pricing is a little more than I expected, but man did I get what I paid for! Installation was done NEXT DAY. Everyone was respectful and informative. A couple days later I requested some finishing work to be corrected, and they again came same day to fix it. I’m really impressed with Casteels commitment to finishing the job right. Shout out to Chris, Garris, Timothy, and Leon!
My unit of 15 years had its blower die but with its age I believed its was time for a replacement. I had a repair professional come out and talk over how long the system would last if I had the blower was replaced and it became obvious it was time to replace. In the same day the consultant came out took measurements and went over options. The consultant then scheduled the installation team for the next day. The installation came in and put in the new units and got the components up to code within a reasonable amount of time. Never been more impressed by a compines work ethic and satisfaction policy.
For a “Christian” company what horrible service. The first appointment I made online. Dude didn’t show up. Called them they said there was a “glitch in their system”. Made a 2nd appointment. One hour late the dude finally gets here and says “Oh we don’t look at buildings with units like these.” Cool. Why didn’t your sales person confirm that before they sent you over? And you were late? And you were sitting in your truck for 30 minutes?
Our old system failed and since the repair cost was prohibitive we decided to replace instead. Josh and Steve showed up on time, introduced themselves and got to work. Within a few hours the house was cooling off! Steve and Josh were friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to show us the features of our new system and answer all our questions. Highly recommended!
TERRY came out for a tune-up and refused to clean the coils. He then misdisgnosed, saying that a part was needing to be replaced, when it did not.He messed up my new 1yr old a.c. unit. It was running perfectly fine until Terry laid his hands on it. Casteel is great. But beware if Terry is sent to your home.
They were on time and professional in nature and the tech was nice. The sad part is they told me $12k to make my repair! And they charged $400 just to clean the unit and drive there. Very unhappy with the experience overall in relation to the repair and cost for little to no work. They said my unit was old and has to be replaced. I got a second opinion and it is being fixed under warranty because it’s only 5yrs old. I am a new owner to the home and was unaware the age of the unit. Just sad.
The rep was courteous and diagnosed the issue. My disappointment is they charged me $455 for a $20 part that took 15 minutes to install. That was the only issue that needed to be fixed. I did not realize this until after they had gone and I checked. I understand making money and respect that but this is beyond reasonable to charge that for this type of fix. Do your research prior to approving the repair with them.
Jamie was knowledgeable, and patient in helping to assess a leak that I had in underground plumbing in my yard. Not knowing exactly where my leak was coming from he was able to clearly explain several possibilities and entertained every what-if question that I had. Between his patience and knowlege, I had non reservations about him performing the repair at my home.
Made a next day appointment, and they confirmed it 3 times. Towards the end of my appointment window, I received a text stating my unit had been worked on, and an HVAC tech would need to come out and look at it due to some internal home issue. First no one ever showed up. Second, my unit is behind a locked gate with no access. Third, why send someone who isnt an HVAC tech to look at an AC? I called to confirm what the message was, was put on hold, transferred to voice mail, and ended up leaving a message. Received another text about an hour later that no one could make it out today. When I tried to respond by text per the message, they would not go through. I called, explained what was going on, and requested to be transferred, but not to voice mail. Of course I was transferred directly to voice mail. I left a message canceling any appointments and let them know I would be leaving a negative review. While I cannot speak to their actual AC service, their customer service is very poor. You do not make appointments you cant keep and confirm them 3 times. You also dont tell a perspective customer you have worked on their machine when you have not. You do put a priority on appointments you miss instead of counting them as a number and $$$. Office customer service is a direct reflection of overall company customer service. Bad business for Casteel as I have taken my business elsewhere.
I called for an HVAC issue around 8 am, and I was able to get an 8-12 appointment the same day with no Emergency fee. My tech was prompt and didnt sit in his van wasting time prior to ringing the doorbell. Elliot was EXCELLENT! He was very courteous, prompt, and professional. He explained in great detail his findings he offered plenty of great tips and services. I like the notifications such as phone calls, a text, AND the option to track your techs arrival time.
I booked a 4 hour window for arrival, but the company canceled my appointment without notice. I waited for 4 hours, and because I didnt respond to an unreceived text message, they unilaterally canceled my appointment. Highly unrecommended if youre wanting a reliable, plumbing service to arrive as promised.
This company advertises same-day service and that was a lie. They sent a technician out the day after to look at the system. I told the technician on his way to the house that there was previously a leak and that the system was completely void of refrigerant so it needs to have a leak test. Not only could he not tell me the price of a leak test, but also refused to do it today like they advertise.In the invoice he sent, he put in a bunch of items that may or may not be necessary trying to get me to commit to a contract over $7,700. If I wasn’t someone who knew a leak test should be in the $250 or less range, I might have believed this was necessary.Stay away from this company at all cost. There are plenty of companies that aren’t scam artists.
Dan is a good guy to have come out to your house for a service repair. Belinda is an excellent customer service rep who attempted to assist me with my request to determine part needed for repair. But everyone else that Ive dealt with at this company was less than satisfactory. And I dont do business with less thans.
BEWARE! Casteel damaged my A/C unit and they trying to charge me to fix it! Or buy a whole new A/C unit. And now management is dodging my calls. My unit went out on me in April. I called casteel to help. The tech stated I had a leak and needed some refrigerant. My unit continued to have problems so I called again. A different technician came out and claimed he fixed the problem by repairing a part in the unit (which then caused my thermostat to go out due to a blown fuse. I called a third time because my unit still wasn’t fixed! So the third technician says. Well there’s a pound too much refrigerant in your unit, and there’s dye in your refrigerant. So the first tech ruined my system by adding dye and too much refrigerant and now my system has been over worked and they are suggesting a WHOLE new unit! My unit is only 7 years old! Beware! This company seems to be scamming people by damaging your a/c unit to suggest a brand new unit!!|3 days later and management is still dodging me and won’t answer my calls!
I got them to come out and give me a free estimate on replacing my water heater. Toney Johnson came out and tried to charge me $95 for service feed for a free estimate!!! My unit is 17 years old doesn’t even work just want to replace it. So I called his manager up and they told me that he’s not supposed to be doing that!! So how many people did Tony Johnson trying to rip off by charging them $95 for a service fee for a free estimate replacement of a water heater!! Unheard of, ridiculous and unprofessional!!! So I told him to take his estimate with him because I won’t be doing any business with them
I was initially quoted a price of $29000 for two 14 Seer 2 ton HVAC units. Yes $2900.00 U.S. Dollars. When I asked why was he double the estimate Reliable Heating & Air gave me. I could in know way deal with a company that would blatantly attempt to over charge me $14K. BEWARE. Needless to say I went with Cool Ray due to the mandatory maintenance agreement with Reliable added another $13, 000 to the overall cost over 5 years.
Earlier this week, Casteel came out and installed a brand new HVAC system. Their comfort consultant, Matt Holleman, came by my home the week before to provide a quote and followed up a few days later. Due to the price and warranty he offered, I decided to go with them. However, while the installation was completed Tuesday evening by Juan Alvarez, during the middle of the night WEDNESDAY, the system ceased working. This was less than 36 hours I had a new functioning system. When I called first thing Thursday morning asking for a technician to come out, the soonest time I was offered was MONDAY morning. So even though I had a broken system that was less than 36 hours old, I was told it’d be five more days before someone could come out to my home to fix this issue but I could be put on a waitlist for a sooner appointment and was told I would be called immediately if something sooner became available. On Saturday I decided to follow up just in case and was provided a new time on Sunday. I don’t know if the equipment was faulty or installed improperly, but one of the two occurred and the resolution provided was about as unsatisfactory as possible. I was also displeased to learn that even though I was told I’d be contacted if a new time became available, it wasn’t until I called again 3 days later that I was able to get myself a new time. This begs the question if there was a sooner time that came up Thursday, Friday, or Saturday that I could have obtained and had my AC repaired. Instead, I continue to sit in an uncomfortably warm home and must wait for the technician to arrive.Their comfort consultant and installer were nice and professional. However, the company’s customer service is poor and as previously stated, the equipment was either installed improperly or was defective. Last time I checked, it’s abnormal for a brand new system to cease working within 36 hours. While I’m sure this was a rare event, the way it has been handled thus far has been very disappointing and I’d encourage others to rethink using Casteel in the future, because I certainly have.
I have used Casteel for several years and have been generally satisfied. Installation of new Trane unit was smooth and efficient 3 years ago. My experience with your preventive maintenance program has not been as good. I have paid in advance for twice annual PM visits and your system for followup for the 2nd visit is lacking. I never receive a call for scheduling the 2nd PM visit. I have had to call back to schedule the 2nd visit myself and have had long delays when scheduling maintenance visits recently. After a 2 week wait for a PM visit, I received a call from your dispatcher at the last minute and said they needed to cancel and reschedule my visit for today. I told the dispatch that wasnt acceptable because i had a vibration in one of my units that needed attention. She told me she would call me back in a few minutes. When she called back she said she could schedule a repair visit for the vibration in the fan in air handler for that day, but they couldnt do the preventive maintenance on both of my units. The technician came to my home in the afternoon around 2:30. He was very courteous and respectful. I turned on the unit to let him hear the vibration. He told me immediately upon opening the unit that the fan was separating. He said I would need a new motor and fan. I said ok. He said it would be $1,500 for a new motor and $700 for a new fan, just for parts. Then labor would be on top of that. I told him I did not think it was worth that much to fix a 13 year old unit. He agreed. He said I should consider a new unit and scheduled an appointment for me on the next day with a sales associate. When he left I searched online for the fan and motor for my serial number on my model of unit. I found the motor for $193.35 and the fan assembly for $138. I called the local Trane supply store in Kennesaw and they had both items in stock. So I removed the fan assembly from my unit and took it with me to the Trane store. The guy at the counter took a look at the fan unit assembly and said the motor seems fine, wasnt tight or binding. He asked me if the motor would run. I told him yes, but it was vibrating pretty bad. He spun the fan by hand and heard the knocking. He said I just needed to replace the fan itself. I purchased the fan for $138 and went home, disassembled the fan from the shroud and motor shaft. I installed the new fan and adjusted the alignment in the shroud and put it back together. I put the fan/motor assembly back in my XR80 and reconnected the wiring. Fired it up and it performs like new. No vibrating. Repaired it all for $138 plus 1.5 hours of my time (which I did not have to spare). I feel really let down by Casteel on basically every front lately. Your system for managing PMs is broken and not meeting you customer needs. It should not be so hard for you to keep track of your customers who want to pay you (in advance) and you visit them 2 times in the year to check and PM their units. But I have had that process fail me every year over the past several years. Secondly, to tell a customer that parts needed to fix a problem is $2,200 when the truth is they cost less than $350, is just plain dishonest. Thirdly, to leave a customer with no AC and schedule an appointment for a salesman to come the next day to completely replace a unit that can be so easily repaired seems like the technician must be getting paid a piece of the commission for sales generated by his referral. All together, I just get a feeling of being taken advantage of and not cared for. It is truly unfortunate. I am a loyal customer and have generally been satisfied with the work from Casteel in the past. Their technicians have always been professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. I just feel that maybe they have more work than they can get done now and are trying to take the path of least resistance to get to a full system sale instead of fixing problems. Just do your homework beforehand and dont always trust what professionals say. They may be acting in their best interest instead of yours. If it doesnt feel right, get a second opinion.

After being a brand new unit installed on April 30th the unit has failed completely in 2 months. We have been waiting several days to have their techs come and look at the unit. Called Friday to have a repair done and the earliest they could do was Tuesday. Tuesday a tech came out and failed to fix it. We set up a second appointment Wednesday and once again failed to promise that same day service. We were also promised contact from a higher customer service regarding the state of our ac installation and its early failure Friday. Its been a 6 days and no contact has been made after a 24hr promise.Edit it has been over 3 weeks and no contact from the company. Totally abysmal customer service.

One of their techs did a side job at my house and installed a heat pump unit - system broke down in year 2. Now he wont respond and it appears he used a unit that no one will work on or can get parts for! For that reason I would not use a company that would employee this individual! Screen your employees better because even if they are off your clock they are still out her representing you!
I called to make an appointment at the beginning of May - all of their online presence says same day service. They were busy in May so I took the very next appointment which was for today 07/07/22 from 2:00-6:00 - that is correct, two months from the date of my call. The company called me 20 min before my appointment that I waited 2 months for and told me that they could not make the appointment and would have to reschedule for September. What?!? I wanted to get my AC on a schedule to be serviced in the spring and waited until July only to be told that they couldnt do anything until fall. So VERY unprofessional. I will never use this company and I will steer any friends mentioning this company away from them! So disappointing!
We called today because our 2 year old AC unit quit working. Amazingly, Terry was here within an hour of calling. He looked at our unit, knew what it was, and had it fixed and running in 15 minutes. Terry was professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Terry, we will be using you from now on!

We called because our upstairs Ac unit was not cooling. The repair man came out and said we needed freon to the tune of $1200 . we thought that was extremely pricey but paid it. The air lasted about one night and was back to not cooling. The first repair guy came and was very rude and made a point to tell us that our needs were not in measure with other customers as we still had air on our first floor.(split unit). when we called casteel to come back out, they never showed and rescheduled to three days later. this morning the service guy (a different one) came out and found a leak. another $1000 for that to be fixed. mean while the motor went out because the air was running non stop. I refused to pay for the call back repair that should of been taken care of at the first vist and a long story short.. Carl the service manager argued with me about it, told me he wasn’t going to change me and charge me anyway. This is the worst experience i have ever had with customer service, over pricing and rudeness’s. kicker is if they don’t want to talk to you they just send you to voice mail. The absolute worst bait and switch. to top it off either pay or we take it back and leave you without air. classic customer service.
Got a Casteel advertisement in the mail disguised a federal tax refund check. This was right around the time taxes were due, so I fell for it. Opened it up and it was just a prank advert for Casteel. Very clever and completely worked, but consider this: My very first encounter with this company is them using deceit and trickery to manipulate me, and now Im supposed to trust them with my money and their products and services? It will never happen.
I would like to write several separate reviews for this company because I have had many different interactions with it and it’s employees.ONCE THEY GET THE SALE, I FEEL THEY CARE LESS ABOUT YOU.They should train some of the personnel answering phones and scheduling appointments to have more knowledge in the company’s field.They installed a brand new Lennox air conditioner outside and furnace in our attic in July 2021. The system can’t keep up with the heat. I called and was told I had to wait 8 days for someone to look at it.Request Patrick Bures for your service call. This man was extremely knowledgeable and competent. Patrick impressed us very much by answering all of our questions like a true professional.They sent someone from the warranty department for an issue we were having and they said they can’t do anything because they only do diagnostics. Kind of wasted everyone’s time.
After five yearas of doing business with Casteel, I could not be happier! Service people are competent, polite, and friendly- I love the way management uses an app to communicate with me when their person will arrive. HVAC maintenance and water heter installation have all been done as well aas I could hope. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED
Justin Smith did a great job. He really took the time to answer all my questions and teach me a few easy tricks to check things myself and identify problems in the future. He was able to fix my airco on the spot (dead capacitor), and couldnt be more happy than I am feeling the cold air on this miserable hot day.
Patrick recognized the problem within 10 seconds of seeing the unit. But he took the time to show me the reasons why the repair was necessary and there was no question. He also checked our second unit and identified that the same part was also failing and would probably have gone out in a matter of days. (Both units were installed the same day two years ago.) This proactive attention to detail was client service related, not upsell related. He was the consummate professional and will be called back the next time we have an HVAC issue.

Crooks. Wanted up to $1,500 to recharge the refrigerant. I paid them $115 for the honor of having them try to defraud me. Its a shame that companies reach a certain size and then turn into fraudsters, but thats what has happened to Casteel. Find a small, local company that you can trust.
I contracted Casteel to come out and repair my hvac. I waited all week and day for someone to come. I received a text at 5:59 that a tech Elliot Finch was on his way and to click to see when he would arrive. When I clicked the link, at first it stated that he was on his way. When I clicked again seconds later, it stated that he had arrived. I didn’t see anyone outside my home (I was looking at my house cameras the entire time) nor did anyone ring my doorbell. Clearly, the Finch person had somewhere else to be and decided to decline service, which inconvenienced me tremendously as I was waiting ALL DAY for him to arrive.
Casteel replaced the water line of my neighbor. We live on a private drive, not a subdivision. In doing so, Casteel cut my waterline, damaging my home by introducing mud, debris and dirt in to my waterline and in to every faucet, filter, etc of my home.Casteel is no longer privately owned - they are owned by a conglomerate called Horizon Group Holdings. HGH will not assist me, will not return a call, will not do anything. I am facing thousands of dollars in damages caused by Casteel and HGH and they refuse to assist.Do not use this company.
Called them to repair A/C. After checking my equipment, I was told that they could not repair my unit because I lived in a building with more than four floors due to their insurance restrictions. If I had been informed of this restriction upfront, I never would have hired them. A waste of time for all concerned.
Upon arrival the technician said he was going to look at the a/c unit that was not cooling. Approximately 25 minutes later he came and knocked on door. He showed me a pic of the part (capacitor) which needed replacement then proceeded to present me with an invoice for the work he ALREADY completed without my permission. He charged me $559 for a service that typically costs around $350. Worst of all was that I was not given the opportunity to get another estimate.I will not be recommending this company. They need to remove the Christian fish from all of their media. Do not fall for it!
Joe Trakalo, one of their sales reps, came to my home to quote on a new HVAC. Because of my homes code issues, I was not able to purchase from Casteel. However, Mr. Trakalo continued to check with me and even review my proposal from another company to make sure I was getting the best deal. He continued to guide me along in the process, knowing he would get nothing in return. Thats service!
I am 7 months pregnant and only have one unit for my household. My A/C went out in the middle of summer and Casteel was able to show up to my residence within 3 hours at 10:30 at night to resolve my A/C issue within 15 minutes . I was able to sleep with A/C that night thanks to Ryan Stow and not even go 24 hours without A/C. Great service . Thank you!!
Deceitful and dishonest company. They do not honor their word. Technician was over an hour late for appointment window. When making the appt it says if they dont show up within the appt window its free. Elsewhere on the site it says same day. My service was supposed to be free since the tech was not inside the appt window time. It was not. Was charged $160+. Do not believe their lies. Tech was helpful and nice but I should not have been charged a dime.
EDIT: The customer care representative Rebecca contacts me and heard my concerns with complete patience. I was impressed with her services and empathy she displayed. Definitely it truly means how important customers concerns ans satisfaction means to them.I wouldnt recommend this service to anyone.. not only because thery werent able to locate my problem and infact misguided me completely without even investigating at all.. they tried to over charge me (other than service few which itself is around $100) and asking us to claim it from our insurance.. it was a simple plumbing issue and the technician that came out not only missed to locate the leak but also misguided which wasted my entire next day.. moreover the billed us service fee which I wouldnt have minded paying if they would have atleast attempted to investigate the problem properly. Very disappointing service.
Casteel Heating, Cooling ,Plumbing & Electrical is the absolute best company to get an HVAC unit replaced with if you are looking to spend three times more money than you need to. Also I hope you want a unit three times the size needed for your size house. But how can I forget about the ten years all parts and labor warranty so no matter what happens in the first ten years you will be covered. Oh right, I forgot because it doesnt come into effect until the loan is payed in full, which they forgot to mention. Also they forgot to mention it is a ten year loan as well. They are extremely fast to tear out your old unit, then they stand in your yard like deer in headlights. After all of that when you get so fed up with everything that has happened and getting multiple upcharges, you finally tell them their services are no longer required and they can pack their stuff and leave, they decide to tell you they are going to install the outdoor unit before they leave. Which you then have to tell them not to multiple times, when they finally do pack up and leave with all your old parts so you cant reinstall them, they also take all the copper from under you house as well. All and all Id say dealing with this company has been the best experience ever, well except for the parts provided above. Do not use this company for any reason what so ever.
Everyone I dealt with has been excellent in their area of expertise! Not sure who I spoke with on phone in office, but they were very accommodating, friendly, sent someone quickly. Then the service tech, Samuel came, and quickly found problem, gave excellent advice, very nice young man! My system was very old, parts hard to get, etc., had served us well, but needed replacing, so Clint, the salesman came, spent time giving us details, excellent advise, very knowledgeable, and also a very nice pleasant young man! Then came the installers, Daniel and Brantley, they were prompt, as were all the others, knew what they were doing, and went over and above in explaining to me and installing everything, leaving it clean and orderly. I would rate all 4 of them excellent plus and a credit to your company. Have another guy coming this morning to talk with me about whole house surge protection, and he sounded very nice, friendly on the phone, and due in just a few minutes!! I expect no less from him, as Casteel seems to employ excellent people! It has been a good experience overall!
UPDATE: Rather than repair my AC/Heat unit they told me I had to replace both of them at a cost of more than $30,000 - they sent a salesperson to our home and he told me what a great deal $30,000 was. I went with Bobs AC for $16,000.I have cancelled their service.Heres another five star review - Weve been looking for a reliable company since we moved here. Casteel was on top of the whole process - from setting the appointment on the phone to the service tech arriving on time, ready to get started on the job. Excellent experience, great work, very happy.
Clarifying no issues with my Casteel installation from 2013. Updating after breaker tripped. Wanted to update so that everything will be further maintained and cleaned twice within the next 365 days. Adam gave great care to explain my system was still under warranty and that I had options to improve filtration could further improve my homes air quality with a replacement. I will be investigating and it was nice that there was no issues.
Had a new furnace installed by casteel and now that it’s time to use my air, it’s not working. It did before they installed the unit. The came out and claimed it to be an old piece not under warranty. The duct work is leaking air into the attic and there is no drain do the unit is now freezing if I try to use it. We got the quote for the new part nearly $6000… so I called to question it and they said a technician works have to call me… days later NOTHING…, I could replace the entire unit for that…
Would give them zero, but....scheduled an appoint last week to have our AC unit repaired or replaced. they texted 3/4 of the way through our window saying they would have to reschedule. We have been long time customers - bought a unit from them 14 year ago. If they are treating their legacy customers like this, Im glad I wont have to worry about them ignoring me for the next 10 years
I had a new HVAC system installed in May 2022, it failed Forsyth county inspection 2xs for new environmental code used by county. Ms. Bates told me in June email they have the needed part . Here it is almost August no has been out Ms Bates has not responded to my email and when I call office for installation manager there is no call back. Plus customer service reps will not give me his name! This was Lawrenceville office
Weve used Casteel for 20 years since my wife purchased our current house. Theyve maintained our HVAC, replaced plumbing lines, replaced the electrical panel, and as of yesterday, upgraded our entire furnace & AC compressor.Weve been fiercely loyal to them for a reason.When we got quotes from competing HVAC installers, Casteel was initially the highest of the 3 quotes we received, but they were willing not only to beat the pricing from the other company, but had a better installation warranty (5 Years instead of just 1Y).From Brett taking care of us during the sales process, to Daniel ensuring the installation was meticulous, professional and thorough, we couldnt be happier with our decision!
Company is not respectful of your time. Their website allowed me to schedule next-day service, but they called to reachedule to over 2 months away almost immediately. It seems clear they uad no intention of ever honoring the initially scheduled time and were happy to waste mine.
Shady Business practice, they charge 89 $ to send a repairman (plus a 25$ surcharge due to the price of diesel ) and this fee isnt waived or incorporated into the price of the repair itself. You get no pricing information beforehand and to top it all off they no-showed twice in a row. The first time they said that they couldnt find the appointment (though I got a your driver is on the way email) and the second I didnt even bother checking with them. Shady and inept
I have had a really frustrating experience with Casteel. I have currently had 7 callbacks for one issue. My unit has now leaked all over my room on multiple occasions after being serviced by Casteel. My first three visits, the technician did not have the proper experience with my type of unit. Each visit is a four hour window of waiting. In addition, on multiple visits the technicians did not arrive during the window of time.Scheduling team, dispatch and warranty department do not communicate with each other, resulting in multiple phone calls with different information. I have requested a call from a manager at least 4 times and only 1 time did I actually receive a call from Justin. (Thank you). Communication lines need improvement to better serve clients and honor our time.I have met one technician who is now the only technician I will allow to work on my unit. (Thank you, Kris.) He says the entire head needs to be replaced under the units warranty. In addition, hoping Casteel will now assist with the refinishing of my 1-week old furniture which was damaged in the leak as well as the permanent damage to my natural fiber installed carpet.
Per their instructions, I made an appointment on line using their system and got an email confirmation on my appointment to repair my a/c. About 5 hours before my scheduled and confirmed appointment, I received an email from Casteel dispatcher Sable telling me my appointment was canceled as they had a full schedule of folks that needed emergency service for their a/c, just as I did. She asked me to call back and schedule another appointment and thanks. I declined.
Update: 7/31/22After the incident below, I did go with another HVAC company for two years. There werent much better, but I last had them out in the late spring to do the annual maintenance. That other company gave my A/C a thumbs up. All systems good.After that visit my plan was to shop for another company. Again.Then on Friday evening, my A/C crapped out. Now that system is three years old, so that shouldnt happen. Accutemp, which Casteel acquired, installed it (along with the heater and rezone job).What to do? I called Casteel/Accutemp back and told them what was up. They had a tech out 24 hours later. He took a quick look and it seemed the capacitor on the outside unit had gone bad. He replaced it and system started blowing cold air again.Heres the thing: I hadnt used Casteel for maintenance service in ~2 years, but they still honored both the parts and labor warranty from their install. A lot of companies wont do that. I signed back up with them for maintenance on the spot.Now, I know they are still working out the kinks on customer service, but this story is why Im revising this review and upping this to 4 stars. Im open to making it 5 in the future and Id like to do that.*** end updateTerrible customer service. Its spring, and after numerous messages, they have yet to do the heating maintenance, which is due in the fall. I contacted them several times. No response.So, I have to follow up, follow up, follow up to get them here. But they have no problem reaching out to remind me to pay the annual maintenance fee, which by the way, I already paid for this visit.Then, because the customer service guy is annoyed that Im annoyed, he asks me the Covid questions *twice* in the span of 5-minute phone call.He also tells me that the company doesnt read email. I note the company has read email. Ive emailed many times before. And the company *bills* me by email. But he says no, no, no they dont email.Whatever, Lucas. You do email. Thats a fact.But I digress. So we set a time....and then company sends me, not one, but two emails confirming the appointment. *And* they send me two texts.All set, right? WRONG.Then two days after I schedule the call, I get a series of phone calls, voice mails and text messages (and Im getting multiple text messages from two different Casteel numbers!) asking me to confirm the appointment.I mean, I just set that appointment. I had to chase them to get it done!They threaten not to show!This is too much drama for HVAC.Im a customer only because they acquired my prior HAVAC vendor, and that company installed a new heater and A/C and I dont want to lose the warranty.However, this company is so awful, Im shopping. Im half thinking about looking into buying an HVAC franchise because the bar for customer service is so low, you could clean house with a little process improvement and organization.
June 2022 I tried to use them again with the same disastrous results. The day of install they cancelled the install. I had to tell the delivery crew , sales manger and General Manager the job was cancelled. The deliver guy had to reload the equipment back in his truck after leaving on my driveway. The GM said so sad to bad that the way it is today. I will take a a $1K off the price take or leave it . No concern for the customer. The kicker here they charged my credit card for the job on the same day they cancelled the install. WHO DOES THAT. I had to tell them they did that. My card was frozen until the charges where reversed. I never got notice that this happen. March 2021 New system stop working two days after being installed. Called we have to wait until the next day for service. The comfort consultant failed to turn the system back on after review what we needed. The installer failed to relight the pilot light on the water heater. The thermostat on upstairs unit went blank. No thermostat no heat. The unit shut down because it was not wired correctly for the thermostat. The wire job tripped the safety switch on the unit and shut it down.Attention to detail is not their strong point. 24 hour service is a suggestion and does not happen when you need service. I was told a after hour on call Manger would call me. I was told it would take two hours to be contacted. That never happen.
Do not use this company! they are rude and incompetent. A technician has been to my house four times and has not fixed our AC unit that’s less than a year old and we keep getting rescheduled for someone to come out and actually fix it so I’m not sure what the hell they’re doing every time they come to my house. When I try to call customer service they are extremely rude talk over me won’t let me speak you’re never talking to the same person twice I suggest you go with a small company that actually cares about their customers and cares about their name because Casteel is terrible
This is the second time we have had Justin to our home for Casteel Heating and Air.In each case he has been very professional in all aspects of his job. He explains very clearly what he will be doing and the results of his findings.He has been doing this for a while and knows his stuff. He did our heater assessment last fall and just completed our summer A/C system tune-up. We couldnt be happier with the service he provided.Updated 5/22New tech but same great quality of service from Matthew. Really think highly of the team of employees they have. Communicate well with the customer and dont try to over sell their services.
Overall great experience, the technician went out of his way to make sure to not track any mud or dirt into the house and even cleaned after checking out the ac units in the attic. Alex is extremely knowledgeable and helpful with all of our concerns and questions, went out of his way to give us the best possible ac systems for our home and budget. I never felt rushed into making any decisions and would definitely recommend him to family and friends. He deserves a raise.
Sean Stemper did a wonderful job explaining everything and answering all of my questions. He was prompt, polite and professional. I will definitely use Casteel with any future electrical, plumbing, HVAC or water heater issues I may have. Also, the person that handled my initial call did a wonderful job, she was even able to escalate my issue because there were sparks coming from my panel. So instead of waiting 2 days, she had someone come out the same day I called! Awesome!!
Overall a very positive experience. Definitely one of the best of the recent contractors I have worked with around my house. It was a large job, took 2 days with multiple crews. Some significant issues the first day were all addressed the second day. Some minor issues like throwing away things I asked to keep, but they are will to replace them. They kept most things very clean around the areas but some minor debris left on furniture, but it was late so I said I would finish cleaning. The system design is not quite as I expected but they took the time to explain why it needed to be that way and did their best to make it as close as possible to what I was looking for. The crews themselves were good to work with, was able to communicate with them about my concerns while they were working and they understood and tried to address. good guys, good experience, more expensive than I wanted but in true comparison to other quotes and work at other homes, pretty reasonable and you do actually get a good product.
We had Casteel install an entire new HVAC system about 6 years ago. Their crew came out and complete the work in one day and that included adding additional ductwork for the basement area that we decided to have heated and cooled. Their work was performed a very professional manner. We have elected to use their maintenance plan where we have the system service in the summer and winter to maintain it in proper condition. Ourair conditioning stopped working Sunday night and we had a Technician respond Tuesday morning for repair. As it turned out it was a small switch that was defective and because we had the maintenance plan it was covered under the warranty. If you have Casteel install a system for you I recommend the maintenance plan.Update:I noticed the unit short cycling. I called and they had a Technician that could possibly come out that day but due to work load on another job could not make it till next morning. Issue was failure of VSD motor for the blower. Parts were ordered and the motor repaired 060222. Fast turnaround considering the supply chain issues this day and time. Once again professional service by the person taking my calls, setting up Technician response, getting parts and fixing the problem. Again I say if you use Casteel you will not go wrong and by all means take advantage of the Maintenance Plan.
I had hired another contractor through Home Advisor. Because we would not pay additional labor costs he left the job incomplete. We were having wall switch problems. The first guy left bare wires hanging out of the wall. Power was shut off. Called Casteel and spoke to a very compassionate customer service operator (Shamika, I think). She was able to get electrician here immediately. Henry Henderson came in and assured us he could and would make this safe and working right. Within an hour this professional had our lights on and us smiling. Thank you for your expertise and very fair pricing. They did make us feel awesome.
They are always on time and professional. Each tech I’ve had has been respectful and knowledgeable. This last one, Peter made sure I understood everything about my thermostat and suggested a new filter system that will be helpful for my allergies. They are a great company!
When Daniel and Brantley installed our new HVAC system they arrived early in the day on a Saturday. They worked all day, over 12 hours, until the work was done. When they were finished they showed us how to use the new touchscreen thermostat and showed us the new furnace set up in the basement. It was there that I could see the pride they take in the work they do, and I could see the huge amount of work they did. The price we were quoted initially seemed high, but after seeing all they did, I feel like we got a great value that we will utilize for years to come.
I highly recommend Brett and the entire Casteel team. I really appreciate Brett’s honest advice and fair pricing. He was much more experienced than the other companies that I spoke with and his pricing was $5k less than Costco! We are so happy we chose Casteel. The install team was very respectful and cleaned up well. Thank you all!
Update 10/15/21: Casteel followed up with me and sent a technician out to complete the ducting reroute work.Casteel was very responsive when we reached out to them about spending $10k+ on a new HVAC system. They sent a technician and salesperson to our home within hours of calling them and they followed up with us daily until the unit was installed and our payment went through. This is when our issues started with them.The furnace wasnt ready and they were missing some parts (technician failed to let us know).Ive had to follow up with Casteel at every point from here on out. Ive called to schedule them to finish the furnace installation. Ive had to follow up to check on the status of the parts we were waiting on. These are things that they should have been doing, not the customer.I mentioned during the HVAC sales pitch that we also needed a small section of ducting (
I would never! $1193.00. To put in a vanity with a self provided faucet. 500.00 to put on a faucet? 775.00 to set a vanity that does not include piping or faucet install? Just to put it against the wall...775.00??? You guys are ridiculous and then try to act like youre adding discounts? Talking about profit...geesh.
Awesomeness is what I can say and I will only speak on what I know from my experience. Two words: “Gary Webster…” ask for him explicitly. He will have you feeling good about the job he has done for you, even when he leaves.Thank you Casteel for workers like Gary Webster!If you get anyone other than Gary when the job is done make sure, be sure 24 hours or less if the problem persists call back within that 24 hour window. I was referred to Casteel by someone. However, Casteel is just like most of the other companies just higher in price. All it seemed to me is that you all wanted my money. Why not fix something when you know it can be fixed and resolved? I just moved in my first home that has been renovated. I am in an up and coming area close to everything including downtown Atlanta. Someone clipped my copper from my outside HVAC unit 1-2 days before I moved in. They broke into crawlspace but no copper so they only got the outside in which was maybe $5 worth. My air conditioner could have been fixed but Sam Betts and the other guy Bobby Loebl stated otherwise. HVAC was new and had not been used and was caged but the copper was exposed a little from house to HVAC. Sam went from $1200+ to then calling me back after speaking with his supervisor to say that I needed to have everything fixed on outside and on inside which would be about $9000. What? I told him how they never did anything to the inside but he still stated it needed to be replaced outside and inside. Bobby came out to confirm the cost and he told me I really only needed the outside done but he would recommend getting everything new at $9000. So many people are greedy, money hunger and overcharge for nothing. I understand if you have to tag on charges for the labor but charging immensely is just being humanly disgusting. Good thing my dad fixes air conditioners etc which I told Sam and Bobby and has done so for years but he is in Florida and could not come up at the moment. I called around and had someone renown come out and fix my HVAC for $750. It looks brand spanking new like nothing even happened!! It actually looks better than the original. Thank you Sean! He also confirmed my HVAC was new and that I had no leaks and nothing was damaged besides them cutting the copper. I even had this piece that they pulled out but left which saved me money as well. Did I mention that too to the Casteel guys? Yes! Did they still say I needed a new unit inside and out? Yes! When Sean fixed my HVAC he was able to confirm all what he said. Will I do business with Casteel? No. What I received from Casteel is that they just want to get money, commission or whatever and is not up for doing the right thing. Yes, you are still going to get paid and it may not be $3000 or $9000 on every job but if you know it can fixed why not treat someone like you would want someone to treat you? I dont have money to throw away because someone cannot do the job or does not want to do the job because they are either lazy, greedy, incompetent, scheming, and/or have to meet sales. I believe in doing the right thing and I cannot do business with anyone that feels otherwise and is trying to get over. Imagine going to a cellphone store or a car dealership and you are not in that business and your phone or car is not working or needs some work and the people tell you, Oh yeah you will need a brand new phone or a brand new car. Yes, it will cost you $800 to replace your phone or it will cost you $7000 to fix that on your car. How would you feel knowing that a person is lying and can fix your phone for $50 or your car for $300. Thanks for quoting those prices because I got something even better. Definitely a learning experience for me and I would not do business with Casteel and they will not be referred from my end. I only chose one star because that was the lowest, but my experience rated zero. Integrity is everything. Have a great day!
Bad experience. In October, we had to have 2 complete AC and heating systems replaced and chose Casteel to do the work based on the good reviews. During the air duct install, our drop ceiling tiles collapsed. This required weeks of rework. We subsequently failed the mandated city inspection and the inspection results have still not been resolved. As of 11/26, we have had 5 technicians out and are currently without heat because an incorrect connector for the natural gas line was used.
I would never let a casteel technician enter my home or business even if they were the only people available for the day. The lack of professionalism shown by the men they hire while they are at work driving work cars is scary. As a woman I would not feel safe in my home with them men they have.
I went online about getting a quote for a service after hearing about a tragedy a family friend just experienced at the expense of their water heater, and the live chat representative suggested that I have a representative for the office call me. My phone rang, and the gentleman named Mike didn’t sound enthusiastic that he was receiving a call. I told him what my issue was, he put me on hold, and after over 30 minutes of waiting on hold, I finally hung up. I went back to the chat to confirm it was a live representative that referred the call to me and it was. If this is the level of service one is to expect, I wouldn’t recommend this company. It would’ve been too easy to request that I call back later, or simply answer my question for a quote.
We used Casteel for a weekend repair after one of our AC units stopped cooling. From the online scheduling through repair and payment, everything was very seamless. They promise they will take “really good care” of you and they do! The technician, Daniel, took time to discuss the issues, diagnosed the problem quickly, and went over our options. He even brought in some Amazon packages that were delivered while he was out working on the AC unit! Due to the promptness and quality of service Daniel provided, Casteel is now my go to company for HVAC needs.
Woke up yesterday morning to no AC downstairs. I called my regular company only to find out it would be a few days before they could come out. No one wants to go a few days in the middle of August without air in GA! Casteel was the 3rd company I called and they were able to come out same day. Jeremy Roberson was my tech and he did an outstanding job. He diagnosed the problem pretty quickly. But, what impressed me was I have two units, same brand, same age, different sizes, Jeremy took the time to check my second unit for the same problem and found that the second unit was also experiencing the same issue just had not broke yet. I was able to get that unit repaired before it actually broke. And yes he showed me the part, so that I could visually see there was a problem. He went out of his way to make sure I was not without AC now or later. I was so impressed and appreciative! Casteel was not my regular company, but they will be now!!
Peter arrived on time and was both honest and professional. He explained how my system worked in a way that I could understand and how to remedy the issues I was having. He also recommended ways to save on utility costs and things I could do as a homeowner to help prolong the life of my system.
The Casteel team is 2nd to none! From the first person who answers the call, to the installers and technicians it was a great experience. And I love, love, loved the tracking service! I wish all companies operated this well. As a REALTOR and homeowner, I am happy to recommend your company.
This is really about their gas surcharge, which is $20. They might as well call it a trip charge because if theyre getting $20 for every customer they service per day. theyre probably not paying anything out of pocket for their truck fuel.Im a big fan but thats an unreasonable fee for each customer.
USE ANY COMPANY BUT CASTEEL.This company is an absolutely nightmare to work with.- They have their inbound calls answered by an atrociously managed call center.- They lie to their clients about what they will charge and the services they can provide.- I called them this morning for a commercial plumbing job and after providing all of the information, including an address on Cobb Industrial Drive, and was advised that they would be out to me between 12-4. I subsequently trusted that they were a professional company that would fulfill their word.- Seven hours later, I had to call Casteel just to find out that they dont even perform commercial jobs and dont have the professional competency to even set up an appointment correctly.I have wasted an entire day because of their incompetence.
I have used Casteel for service for years and had them install a new AC unit plus various other things related to AC. The technicians are all nice, the Company seems to be organized, but sadly my new unit has been nothing but problems. The worst part is that no one at Casteel will call me back or reach out to acknowledge that 10 warranty appointments in less than 12 months is a huge issue. Hence why I’ve now reduced my rating from 3 stars to 1.I’m promise I’m not one to complain, but this is just crazy to me. To start, what was installed was not what the salesman Brett promised (zones aren’t set up correctly & didn’t get a vital room sensor I was promised). Thereafter, this unit has now gone out over 6 times in one year. I think I’m on my 10th warranty appointment. Issues have been: dampers not working properly, bypass settings setup incorrectly, control panel settings incorrect, City failed the install upon inspection for several issues, and now a leaking coil (which Casteel installed brand new).When you spend this kind of money it’s very upsetting, especially when management hasn’t reached out or offered anything whatsoever. I’ve tried calling 3 managers with no returned contact - the dispatch/customer service crew just states that they emailed the appropriate people (4 times now) and wait for them to call… which they never have. It should be obvious that there’s an issue here. The only reason I gave even 3 stars originally on my review is because all the technicians are extremely friendly and hard working… just can’t seem to get this thing working unfortunately.
Casteel is one of the few companies that we are lifetime customers of. We have 2 A/C units from them and when we have had issues they were prompt in getting us scheduled and serviced. The staff from the person who answers the telephone to the actual service provider are very caring about your situation and provide excellent service.
Casteel Plumbing provides great service. It is really easy to make an appointment and do business with them. Not to mention, you can even select a specific technician should you want to work with the same person each time for repairs. I use a really great plumber with the company by the name of Jamie. Jamie is very professional, very knowledgeable, and always knows how to repair my plumbing issues without me ever having to revisit the problem again due to poor workmanship issues as I have had to do with other plumbing companies. He is very meticulous about how he comes into my home wearing shoe covers and taking them off when outdoors as not to track dirt or debris into my home. He is super friendly but not overly so as to lose sight of the job and often gives me great advice on many plumbing projects that Id like done. If there is more than one solution to getting a repair done. He gives you your choices and the cost associated with each and the best pricing for each option and lets you know how long the pricing is good for and lets you decide. He is a great asset to the company and the reason why I continue to do business with them and will look at doing other jobs with them even outside of plumbing.
The entire staff of Casteel were professional, knowledgable and efficient. The installation of our air conditioner and new thermostat could not have gone more smoothly. We love our new system and are very pleased with how efficiently it is working. I have no reservations in recommending Casteel to others.
Chad was our technician, and he was fantastic. I ask a TON of questions, and he was patient and knowledgeable, and he answered everything I asked. I truly wish I could hire him for every project on my home. Casteel is thorough and respectful, and I’ve had nothing but great service from them.
Chuck was amazing! He initially came to my home to repair the outdoor temperature monitor for my thermostat. He quickly fixed this. He asked me if I had any other questions. I asked if he knew anything about the Honeywell Hubs that came with my unit to electronically control my thermostat. Which he was very knowledgeable about. When he figured out the unit was malfunctioning, he ordered a new one for me and was back at my home in a week helping me install it on my computer and thermostat. I appreciate all his help, hard work, friendliness, and knowledge. I can tell he loves what he does. I enjoyed speaking with h and learning from him. I would recommend Chuck to anyone!

2022-07-26We called this company because our second unit stopped working. Both units were in the attic. The tech went into the attic and repaired the AC unit, however, we noticed that there was a crack in our ceiling after he left. The location happens to be our son’s room that we are waiting for his arrival to be born.We made several efforts to speak to someone so that they could send someone out to repair the cracked sheet rock in the ceiling. All we received was a run around; we called for a week and every day we were told that the supervisor was on a call with another customer. Needless to say that we never received a call so that they could schedule for someone to access the damages and send someone to repair the ceiling. Now I have to pay out of pocket to have my ceiling repaired and it’s holding up us getting our son’s room together. I wish I had read these reviews before hiring these people. Please stay away from this company if you know what’s best for you.

2022-06-16We had Casteel out in June 2022 to fix our 4 ton Goodman (R22) unit. The tech said that the compressor was blown and the entire system would have to be replaced because they can’t get parts for R22 systems anymore. Later in the day, a Casteel sales rep arrived to provide a replacement quote. We have done quite a bit of research as to how much a single HVAC system should cost to replace. Most systems cost between $7,000 and $12,000 but we were quoted a price of $21,000. We were beyond shocked. Having experience in electrical and mechanical repairs, I did some troubleshooting on my own. I found out that the capacitor had gone bad and I bought a new replacement from Grainger for less than $20. Our system works like a champ now.It really makes me wonder about a company that markets themselves as being a Christian-based company and using marketing slogans such as “We’ll take AMAZING care of you” when they won’t replace a basic part and try to rake a desperate household by charging them $21,000 for an HVAC system when it’s 100° outside. That doesn’t sound very Christian to me.

2022-07-30What a bait and switch company Casteel is.Casteel sends out mailers stating “same day or it’s free” but when I called, the service tech advised it would be 2 weeks before they could do an AC tune up. That annoyed me but I said fine. Then I was advised that the $79.00 special for an AC tune up didn’t include a $25 fuel charge that would be added to the $79.00.I couldn’t believe the misconception this company is advertising. I canceled my appointment and told the service tech to delete me out of there system.Casteel is an dishonest and misleading company that I will never use and never recommend.

2022-07-17My air conditioner was not working and I had been getting the run around with my home warranty. I was paying constantly for a system that was clearly needing to be replaced but they wanted to keep putting band aids on it. So I called Casteel and they sent someone out the same day. Blake came early and he provided with a good understanding of my system and how it works. He was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. I think the value of what Im getting from Casteel is going to be well worth the money spent.

2022-06-03Our technician Tristan was awesome! He was patient, professional, kind, and really explained the issue and the solution in a way that made sense. Im a mom of 5 and really appreciated his understanding as everyone was vying for my attention and kept interrupting when he was on site. He worked efficiently and even vacuumed debris that fell from the ladder to the attic. Were very satisfied with Casteel! Everyone including the lady that help me schedule our service visit were incredible.

2022-07-25Had a new AC installed by Casteel a few years ago. It was determined the size unit (same as old) was not sufficient to get the job done. They replaced the unit with a larger one year later at no additional cost!! Who does that? Elliott came out recently to service my AC and he was awesome! Its working better than before. Casteel goes above and beyond so highly recommend!!

2022-07-21Leon was fantastic. Although he was supposed to have a helper but ended up having to come solo, he didnt stop until the work was completely done. He took the time to answer our questions and address our concerns sincerely. I hope he gets recognized for his dedication and integrity.The only issue we had was that the job was not done completely right the first time when the new equipment was first installed by other techs. Leon came to save the day and fixed our airflow by installing new ducts, the right kind of thermostat for our unit, and balancing the rooms. Thanks so much for getting us from okay to great and taking care of us, Leon!

2022-07-21Tankless water heater stopped working. Several plumbers could not fix the problem. I called Casteel. Javier was prompt to come out. He did a great job explaining the issue and limitations and a solution. We did have to replace the water heater. Javier offered a great price on a better unit and was able to complete the install the same day. We now have hot water again. Great service!!

2022-07-22I was given a one hour window for the sales person and then for the installation team and they consistently arrived on time! Had an entire air conditioning unit replaced and some new venting and the team worked quickly, efficiently, and were communicative and friendly in a very professional manner. I was very impressed!!
