I use to come here to see the Braves play as a kid. Theyre changed is so much since the moved stadiums! The field is much smaller and for this particular event we were there for was kept in a smaller area. Bathrooms are hard to find and you cant smoke since its campus. Also even though we were at a separate event from the school we had to bring very small pouches or see thru bags. They even did some construction and took out a portion of the field and made it a rather useless space. Very disappointed in what its become
I went to the stadium yesterday for Clean Culture and the set up was very nice. Lots of unique cars with different mods , patterns, spoliers, exhausts, sound systems, etc. Not too many choices for food but I did have some Italian ice at a decent price. When they were making the rewards announcements you could barely hear what anyone was saying. Horrible set up. Besides that I will look forward to another show.
Great place, easy to go in and get out, not a lot of parking but around the area they let you parkfor $10-15. I went because of my BFFs graduation day! I was very far in this os the best I could do Lol!!! There are shaded bleachers and none shaded as well, bathrooms where clean. Thats always a plus!
Signage is awful...and those working tickets couldnt give directions.. we were guests in a club house suite. Took 15 mins to find someone who could tell us where they were. 10 more mins to find someone to tell us how to get to the elevators.... we came in at gate 6. Once we made it around to gate 5, elevators signs were found. Also no concessions were open on the suite level... the suite itself was great. Had a private bathroom which was an unexpected bonus.
Plenty of room for more supporters!!! New Georgia State stadium is still big, but not as oversized as the old Georgia Dome where they used to play. Facilities are good and prices are reasonable. Stadium is small enough that you can easily see the plays on the field and not have to rely on the jumbo tron. Special promotion ticked get you access to boxes and free drinks. Parking is great close-by and reasonably priced. Fun afternoon watching the GSU Panthers.
The Georgia State Panthers are doing great things and the stadium area is booming. Its a great great place to watch a football game. The team is playing well under Coach Elliott and the university will break ground in 2020 on a new commencement center/basketball arena at the north end of the stadium district.
GSU has done a great job bringing a world class stadium to this eclectic campus. Located next to one of the busiest areas in the country (the stadium is visible from 1-85), GSU has succeeded in achieving that excited, college town vibe plopped in the middle of downtown Atlanta. Still pristine (the stadium just turned 1!), the accommodations are continuing to grow.A great selection of GSU merchandise is located in its own store immediately behind the main ticketing area. Alcohol is served and the clear bag policy is strictly enforced. Food is not great, but it isnt the worst either. Signs inside and outside are easy to spot. Parking is reasonable and easy to maneuver. The employees seem happy to be working and happy to support GSU and its events.
Stadium parking was a little off from online, but still workable. The gates were simple and we entered in the stadium. Would have liked bathrooms open on the gate 8 & 9 side when we went left. Had to walk a long way to get to the seats. The concessions prices were high, not convenient to get to, and they ran out of food. I will say that with some assistance from staff the problem did get resolved and I was able to get our group food. So the staff gets a 5 star rating.
Some significant changes have been made to this stadium to accommodate for football. The views are good for the game and the field is visible from all angles comfortably. The sound system could be better and there is a need for additional score board for viewing more replay content. I hope to visit here again for other events as I have fond memories of being here for the Braves.
Saw the first concert performed here - Foo Fighters. I cannot attest to athletic games, but for an inaugural concert? Couldnt ask for more! The sound was amazing ...better than Ive ever heard at a stadium show! The arena itself is beautiful. Parking is still as good as when it was Turner Field. Food and beverage choices galore and cheaper. Overall great experience! 😎❤🤘
The last time I came here, it was to see the Braves play. I was interested to see what it would be like to see a concert here when my husband and I decided to see the Foo Fighters. It was a great show but the stadium itself was a better venue than I would have expected. Part of the seats are blocked off so that everyone is oriented towards the stage which made it easier for everybody to get a good view.
This is a fine stadium. It’s pretty weird how they adapted it to be a football stadium by pouring the concrete bleachers in front of the original stands, seems kind of pieced together. There was very little shade too so you are pretty exposed on a hot day. Finally the food and drink was pretty pricey, definitely no Benz
We went here as the starting place of the Girls on the Run 5k. The field was beautiful, the seats looked taken care of from what I could see but, the bathrooms... Well the bathrooms looked like they hadnt been updated since the Braves first started playing there. Other than that it wasnt a bad venue. Cant tell you anything about how it is on game day.
Feels more like an abandoned mall than a sport venue. There were two bathrooms open. One on one end of the stadium and one on the other. The rest were shuttered off. There were also only 2 or 3 concession stands open and the rest were shuttered off. The parts of the stadium that dont get used were dark and cavernous. The seating that doesnt get used has bird droppings and muck around it. The screen is on its last legs and half the pixels are burnt out. They ran out of beer and food. The canned beer was expired by several months. They had a food truck on the visitor side that didnt run out of food, but the food quality wasnt good. The field was in great condition and the sight lines were great throughout the lower level. They have a really good marching band. Theyre constantly piping in loud music instead of letting the band play though. They play the music overly loud to hide the fact that there isnt much of a crowd. Tickets are cheap, but the on-field product is subpar. There is zero parking control or traffic direction, so it took almost an hour to leave the parking lot even though the stadium was less than a quarter full.
Not enough signage for parking so you know what lot you can park in. Not enough signage in the stadium to direct you around the parts they are not using anymore. Concession lines were ridiculously slow. But it is still a nice stadium and I guess because it is a collage instead of a major league team I can cut a little slack.
Don’t go to concerts here. They won’t let you take any purses in and they have super long lines for beer and restrooms. Plus they they have 50 + bathrooms for field tickets but if you pay over a hundred dollars for a seat you can’t use them and have to wait in line for 30plus minutes to use the restroom. They need to fix something. Not worth the money.
Great place to watch a football game. I really like the the tables in the corners of the Stadium. Great idea! Food prices seem a little steep. 10 bucks for a hamburger and fries. 😱 😠Id suggest eating before going to the game. Also they need to get some Wi-Fi in the stadium.
The first time Ive been here since the Braves stopped playing here was for the Atlanta Legends home opener. I must say, its aged a bit and the big screen could use a major modern makeover but the bones of this place are great and you can watch some good football here. Ideally the concessions would go a bit faster and there would be vendors walking around with water/beer but for the price of entry its still a good deal. Well be back for a GaState Football game this coming season and look forward to seeing the developments in the area come to life.
When the Braves left Turner field, everyone imagined that the stadium and the community surrounding it would deteriorate and wither away. And it probably would have, save for the timely intervention of the Georgia State University. Now its their home field and theyve done the old Ted proud. Access to reasonably priced concessions, great views from anywhere and the close proximity to downtown make it an epic Saturday afternoon.
I Wish I would have known the strict rules of what is and Is NOT allowed.. I came for a graduation and was so trusted. No purse larger then a large index card. No umbrellas. I came In uber and couldnt go back! Luckily they do have bag valet. (Free) It would have been nice to have had a link to a video for graduates to give w/ the invitation
Did a good job converting from Turner Field/Baseball stadium. Main complaint is consistency with the food vendors, at one location the line on the right received 50% less fries for the fry basket than the line on the left ($4) - They were using different containers and didnt care when you brought it up. Ive been spoiled with free refills at MBS stadium and $2 cokes, theyre $5 with no refills here. Seats are the same from Turner Field, slightly thinner than current seats, but still fairly comfortable.
Just graduated from GSU, and I had a fantastic commencement there. The stadium is very historic, as it was originally Turner Field and then beforehand Fulton County Stadium, where Hank Aaron made his famous 715 home run. I was very happy with having my graduation ceremony here:)
Great game! Mountaineers win again. Disjointed food service system and the train horn was unsportsmanlike and caused many adults to cover their ears, even one had to use earplugs. Children and teens were physically bothered by the excessive volume of noise. Drowned out Ga. States own fans and was totally disrespectful to an excellent Ga. State band. Someone should be held accountable and called out, apologies give to both schools, fined and possibly terminated.
I went for the foo fighters concert. The place is massive plenty of venders for food and beer there. The seating got a little cramped when it got up to thirty thousand people. However the stadium amplifies the speakers sound so its super loud and the show was alot of fun. I had a great time and if there is another venue there like this one Im likely to attend again.
Parking is a nightmare! Took us an hour to get out of the lot after a concert, not to mention it was ridiculously expensive ($38). The security staff was unnecessarily rude coming in the gate, and they don’t allow e-cigarettes (vapes), although regular cigarettes & lighters were allowed??! Visibility of the stage was not good.
Great location and theres plenty of paeking. They did a good job of making it GSU branded. The field is nice and new, but it cannot be more obvious that it wasnt originally a football stadium. It looks like they took a section of seats and plopped it down on the field (which they did). They also didnt update the bathrooms or the screen on the scoreboard, which both desperately need updating.
I attended a game between the Atlanta Knights vs. Orlando Apollos. Access was easy but the walk and distance to the stadium was loooong! The atmosphere was pretty good but almost too calm considering this was a sporting event? The concessions are always a point of focus for me since I have a large family. Example...Slice of cheese pizza, m&mens, soda each for 4 individuals + 2 nachos to share = $85.00....smdh!!! Pretty pricey, borderline ludicrous but the going rate for stadium concessions. I even bought my grandson a full size Atlanta Knights football helmet for $99.99 + tax....I may be a Superman but my grandson is my kryptonite...lol. Overall the stadium was clean, neat, restrooms were clean and seating was ok. One of the nicest college stadiums Ive been to dispite the inflated concession prices
This place is not organized at all and when I visited no hospitality to the visiting team. We had to pick up our roll call tickets for visiting Team at gate 5 and on the curb. Our personal was placed outside on the curb with folding table to sign us in for tickets. While the home team had multiple windows available to handle their roll call. This place is out dated and truly needs counseling on hospitality.
This place is huge. I attended a graduation here. The problem is that in the open area, where you can watch the screens, you couldnt here anything that was happening on the field. They need some speakers in that area. If they have some already, then an upgrade is needed.
Went here for a KSU vs GSU game and I was a little disappointment. Looks like they have not updated the place, or cleaned it since the last braves event. I have no idea where the food vendors were and I didnt even think about visiting the bathroom. I just held it till I got home. Ill be watching the games from my house from now on.
Parking was horrendous (even with a pre-paid pass), concessions were almost inconceivably slow and after the game it was not well lit and felt very much like an unsafe place to be with your family. The experience seems to have went way downhill since when it was Turner Field.
It’s just a shadow of what was Turner Field. Honestly, I really don’t think Georgia State really knows what to do with it, besides letting it go down hill even worse than what it was. Between the totalitarian regime like propaganda warnings that keep playing on a constant loop in the stadium entry, the strange mix of Georgia State blue and gold and Braves colors, to the empty concession stands and team store in the upper concourses, it’s almost like a dystopian disaster movie come to life. Also, the stadium parking is absolutely horrible. It took over an hour just to get to our parking spot in the “green lot”, and over 3 hours just to leave due to no traffic control.
It was a little sad being there and not seeing all the Braves team pictures and other paraphernalia on the walls, but I love that it has been repurposed for Georgia State football! We were there for the MEAC-SWAC Challenge and the acoustics were wonderful for the Sonic Boom of the South...and, I guess, that other band, too. It looked a little bland and generic, but I hope that as the years progress Georgia State will customize it more to show their school pride.
Georgia State bought the Atlanta Braves old stadium, Turner Field and it is purely awful. They have very little fan support, jumbo screen is flickers making it hard to watch replays, located in a high crime area, and they did not do anything to upgrade the look of the stadium. (inside and out). The concessions stands and restrooms are a joke! There are still lots of baseball statues and things around that dont get exactly you in the mood for a football game. Then when everyone leaves the game, they dont have any officers there to direct traffic and makes it a mess to leave (get it together Georgia State!).
This place has really deteriorated since the braves left. The seats need to be replaced bathrooms need to be remodeled. The entire place looks like a ghetto abandoned mall. Im really disappointed in outcome of this stadium that once was a marvel to the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia.
The area is not very Plesent to visit. It was some what expected that the area would be in the process of refreshing last year but it does not look like anything has improved. The statium itself is not as nice as it was last year. The cost of improvement and upkeep may be more than the Georgia State University can handle. It sure does not look like an Olympic Stadium any more. It looks like the Atlanta City leadership has abandon the area now that the Braves are gone. The Olympic rings are standing above a mess now.
Graduation was organized poorly! Whether its the events department or graduation office they could have done better by us-the students. Personally, it wasnt that great of an experience. I feel cheated. Someone please get a hold of this- GSU President. We are supposedly a university of accomplished, degreed, experienced individuals, etc. (And for most this journey of educational advancement did not come for free!!!!!) so why could we not have a well executed ceremony where ALL students felt included and appreciated for their accomplishments, no matter the degree. Georgia State awful job.
Not a lot of vendors for the meac swac game. Congratulations to patents who have children in the band and on the football team. Please be considerate of other parents who have children in the band and on the football team and not stand in front of parents who are recording and taking pictures.

2021-12-18My daughter had her Georgia State University college graduation here. It was a good experience. They need to do a little better with crowd control as people were leaving during these covid times as we were like sardines exiting but other than that it was excellent. They had lots of refreshments for sale which was good as I was hungry. My son bought chicken fingers and tater tots and we got a free funnel cake which was delicious. We shared it amongst ourselves and wow I want to go back to get another one as it was amazing!

2022-05-26Yup! Graduation day was great! Although rain was in the forecast for 3 days it didnt rain (sunshine all day)! I will say, it was hot on May 4th and those bathrooms were like a SAUNA...there needs to be ventilation and fans of some sort in there! We were trying to fix our caps, gowns and hoods...but some of us ended up just going back outside the area. And lets not forget about Ludacris being our Keynote speaker and getting his honorary degree!

2021-12-12Really nice facility. We prefer being in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the football championship. It was cold and rainy, so we were happy our team side was under the overhang to keep from getting wet, since umbrellas could not be brought in.

2022-06-22Son had a good experience walking the stadium and campus area by himself. Rising honor student, 9th grader and football star is showing interest in GSU.

2022-05-07Parking was close and stadium was clean. Loved the covered seating areas. The cons are the WiFi and reception is horrible (atleast for my phone service) and they didn’t have wheelchair Options for the elderly people in our party. They had maybe 2 carts to carry people needing special accommodations but that doesn’t really seem enough.

2022-05-18Went to Stadium for aGeorgia State Graduation Ceremony. If you go there for an event of any kind in the summer months. Be sure to sit in seats under the overhang to avoid getting rained on or cooked 🍳 like a fried egg, sunny side up!

2022-05-10We went for a graduation and it was storming out. They have a no umbrella policy. It was horrible especially since people come for a memorable occasion, not an optional one for many... I and my husband were wet, my hair fell. There were elderly, babies and some handicapped. This a policy that needs to be adjusted at least. If a game thats one thing, but for a graduation a little more consideration and sympathy should be showed.
