Central Park in other cities:
Its a park in the city. Great. Problem is concerts are becoming a norm here. I went for One Music Fest. Its difficult to see in the crowd if you are short on a flat surface. There arent any restrooms so you have to use a porta potty. Where can ppl wash their hands? They dont. The park is large enough to have 2 stages allowing multiple acts to entertain at the same time. OMF was awesome but go back to Lakewood. Every view is good there and its worth the fee for 2 days. Will I go back to this park for a concert? I would but its so hard to find a parking spot. Lakewood is better. IJS.
The park sees a lot of use even after a rain, so there can be a lot of small holes in the grass. That being said the city makes a good effort to keep it in good shape. Festivals happen here about once a month of cartoons sizes, and a lot of sports leagues play here. Still it is a small gem of a park tucked away in the city. If you need a place to sit and relax this can be the spot. Homeless people tend to nap here during summer months but no one that is violent
Nice little park with a lot of amenities. There are some very good tennis and basketball courts. Also a baseball and a couple of small football fields.Theres a little park with slides bd monkey bars for small kids. The only thing is that theres not a soccer field. I think this city underestimates how many people would appreciate small soccer pitches around for 5 v 5 pick up games. Also no place close by to buy some water or food
Great park for basketball. Over the last few years, the city and surrounding metro area has rehabbed all the basketball courts so that you dont have to play on hard concrete. They also show off the hawks logo to give a little extra city pride. There were 4 basketball courts, and a playground. Great center piece for the community!
I visited the park for the annual Shaky Knees festival! Its such a great park tucked into a really nice neighborhood. Lots of shade and plenty of activities for the kids. This is a great hidden gem amongst Atlantas many great parks. Its very easy to access via MARTA if you are concerned about parking. You get off at the North Ave stop and its about 4 blocks to the park.
The most underrated park in Atlanta. Piedmont Park is right down the road from here so not many people know about it. A lot of music festivals have been hosting their events here which have been using Central Park to its fullest capacity. Theres plenty of space here to go biking, running, you can even have yourself a picnic here. My first time here was for Shaky Beats and I was surprised that there was a park that big in Atlanta other than Piedmont Park.
Much more pleasant than the Renaissance Park dog park that is regularly overrun with indigent persons. Central Park with ball fields, basketball and tennis courts is a safe friendly place to walk the dog with a somewhat lower risk of used needles and trash on the ground
This park was clean and relatively well maintained. It could have been a bit cleaner so for this I give the rating of 4 out of 5 stars. Everyone who was in the park seemed to be enjoying themselves. The park was well attended and it felt safe to be there during the day.
I really like this area I been living in this area for over 15 years and have seen this flip all the way round when some of the residence was even scared to come inside this park because so much drug user was going as were going on and I see how this side of community is is enjoying this park and plus they are building new apartment complex and new family home and its walking distance to the grocery stores and pharmacy to and yes Im still here still today...
My husband has been playing flag football at this field for over six years, the playground is awful children can barely play here and the neighbourhood isnt all that great. You have a lot questionable people walking on top of that homeless people who break into cars while people are playing sports. I really dislike this park, it needs to be fixed up with a officer watching.
Could be better. Nice spot but needs amenities: clean water to drink, a snack bar, more covered areas ( gazebos, canopies, picnic tables). A public pool would be lovely. The urban design seems geared mostly to the commercial attractions at pricey Ponce City Market or the millenial head down on devices generation. Too bad. And not a proper use of greenspace or family friendly urban design imho. Oh well. Not the Tuileries for sure. Bring your own drinks or snacks and walk thru early morning, or picnic and play frisbee or badminton maybe round sunset when the yoga classes, and other singleton activities arent dominant. Good luck!
All 4 Tennis courts have been redone🙌. Park is sketchy at parts at night. Played a rec soccer league here and tore my damn ACL on one of the numerous holes on the fields so don’t recommend playing that here.Update: had my car window smashed in at 8:30 while playing tennis. Was parked where I could see my car too. Originally had this park is sketchy at night and this reinforces that. Costing me several hundred dollars.

2022-05-29My first time attending carnival in Atlanta was terrible. I spent $150 (plus tax) for VIP admission and it was a scam. General admission and VIP had the same entrance. We had to wait in line with hundreds of other people, had to demand to be let in because it wanted to close the line, not enough seating for food/drinks/seating. The concert was supposed to end at 11pm but ended around 4pm. I won’t be coming back next year or ever but do better for others that would like to experience Carnival.

2021-12-01Central Park doesnt look like much in Google Maps, so I was pleasantly surprised how great a venue this place was for the Shaky Knees Music Festival.Otherwise, without all the stages, bars and people everywhere, this park is pretty much an average looking piece of green space in the middle of Atlanta. There arent many amenities here other than some grass and baseball fields.

2022-05-14Poorly maintained. Literally crumbling. Benches are missing seats at the tennis courts, trash cans are jacked up, trash all over. Watch out for dung. Bleachers were unseated weeks ago and moved across the field, with a pile of nuts and bolts dumped in the grass. Piles of leaves have taken over parts of sidewalks. Low lying areas become pure mud in rain. Would be an amazing place if it were actually maintained like the other parks.Updated: lots of reviews stating how great this park is as a venue for Shaky Knees. That’s one week a year in which the park is closed off to locals (the close off the park days before and after the festival). That’s a curated version of the park and not the experience locals get.

2022-06-25The upper field is mostly dirt. Probably because Atlanta desperately needs more parks. Lots of groups practicing flag football and sometimes theres organized ultimate frisbee at nights (usually Tuesday or Wednesday)

2019-05-17Shaky Knees concert was great in central park. The multi stage set up was ideal and the staff was very helpful every moment of the event. The only downside was the amount of hills and root-ridden areas that became difficult to navigate especially in the rain.

2021-05-13Great space thats easy to get around. Tennis courts, outdoor gym, Hawks sponsored basketball courts, baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Even some space for picnics. All in a compact space with plenty of tree canopy.

2018-11-11Came here for a music festival and it was great! The park is large with lots of space for events or just to vibe or for a picnic. Its in the center of a neighborhood that looked pretty safe. There are lots of trees and grassy areas to lay out. There are no amenities though like public restrooms, or at least i didnt see any.
