I can not believe how awesome this place is. My steak was cooked absolutely perfect. The bread was so delicious, fresh and hot! Management walks around checking on customers and the manager Kevin came to our table and didnt mind bringing us condiments for our meal. On the way out, he checked back in with us and offered us a slice of cake on him. Wow is all I can say. The only steakhouse to go to in Marietta, GA.
My fiancé and I have been here a few times since moving to the area, and it is now our new favorite date night spot. We are never disappointed. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Even on its most crowded nights it’s still a very intimate setting to be in. The staff is so friendly and are always attentive to our needs. For both of us to have a steak dinner and a glass of wine or two each it is very reasonably priced as well for a steakhouse, not to mention the portions are perfect. We have recommended this place to many friends and family and will continue to do so.
Everythings great but who are these people that go to a steak house and order chicken tenders?..they are probably good tho. Theyve got a chicken pot pie thats like the size of a dinner plate and is delicious as well. Ive been going here half of my life and never had a bad experience or even mediocre its always awesomeness
I generally like this place for the most part. Pretty decent food the steak is decent quality the prices are a little high but they give you a lot of food. The bakery and desserts are excellent. Great variety in the menu so a good place to take different people and have everyone be happy. Mostly family atmosphere lighting is a little dim inside so it feels a little more private in the main dining room
Unbelievable food with great portions and service! We placed a to-go order and it was hot and ready to go when we got there. They showed us each item, telling us what it was and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Not extremely busy when we arrived, but can understand why it would be. We will return next time were in Marietta and we HIGHLY recommend!!!
They are okay. Dont get the steak expecting it to satisfy a steak craving. It is too smoke flavored. Get something else and you wont be disappointed. Be aware the portions are a little large and the prices are a little high. If only there were some way they could make the price more reasonable by spending less on meat...
The 32 oz. Rib Eye I ordered was the size of a 16 oz at best. The flavor was excellent from being grilled over an open flame of wood.My wife ordered a Chicken Fried Steak that she could not eat because it was so bad.The waitress and managers were very nice and professional. We were both disappointed with our meal.
This place is amazing, my SO and I have been many times . The food is always amazing especially the prime rib, the staff is very helpful and friendly. I’ve never had any complaints. In their desserts are absolutely delicious and beautiful. This is our go to place if we want to have a nice night out.
Its a steakhouse with friendly staff and delicious food, as well as great service. They have something anyone and everyone could enjoy. They were even able to cook a steak to a perfect mid-well without any char on it at all. Overall, the food was great. However, I will say that my steak came out a little bit tough and difficult to chew when cooked at a medium, so thats a slight issue, but still delicious overall
The food is incredible. Service, though we had no server for a good minute or so, was great. So many rooms! Pricey, but completely worth it. I understand why they get so busy! If I lived closer, I may go broke by wanting to eat here all the time!Did not try any alcoholic drinks, so I can’t testify to them, but I imagine they’d be just as good! Next time I go, maybe I’ll try a drink or two.
I have always found the service here to be top notch and the food to be a step above your average steak house. Be sure to look at their deserts too if you are in the mood for something decadent. The restaurant itself has always been very, very clean and the inside setting is an atmospheric twilight. Diners looking for a more brightly lit gathering will enjoy the brighter setting available at the immediate entrance area of the restaurant. Now for those looking for a bit of a bargain, be sure to go and enjoy their lunch service.
Great server. A little too dark for lunch. Desserts are so expensive and I was really disappointed in the coconut creme pie. Have had much better at other restaurants. Otherwise the food was more than acceptable. Would have given a 5 star rating but my prime rib was a little tough.
The Best Steak in Marietta! Big Salads & Great Desserts! Friendly staff who make sure that you are satisfied. I have been going there for almost 6 years wonderful place to go for special occasion as they are in the $$$ range. They are always packed on the weekends which is a good sign! Definitely worth the trip every time!
1st time visiting. No wait on a Saturday night. The ranch (on anything) is to die for! Fried pickles, cheesy bread, mixed vegetables, & sweet potatoes (both with & without marshmallows) were a hit. Our table ordered steak, lamb, pork chop, & chicken - all had a great flavor, but very dry no matter how they were cooked. Salmon & asparagus were enjoyed also.
I have driven by probably a hundred times in my 15 years here. I always wanted to try it. Tonight I did, as I was in the mood for Prime Rib and did not have one thawed. Tony B. gave me great service. The other staff did as well, and a manager stopped by to check on my satisfaction. For the price, I am very pleased with the value received. The Prime Rib was of very good quality. For my personal taste, I prefer a crust of herbs on the outside, but still rate this very high. The mac and cheese was good. Kick it up by adding a smoke flavor. I do that in my smoker and it takes on a whole new dimension. Can even be done in an oven. All in all, I will go back and it wont take another 15 years. Great job to all the staff making my experience wonderful.
My wife and I visited Cherokee Cattle Company on a mid-week night and it was pretty busy still around 7pm. When we arrived, we were shown to a table and then forgotten about. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to greet us and take our drink order, we were becoming a little frustrated. We reached out to the hostess and asked if they could assign someone to our table and a few moments later someone arrived. I forget her name but she apologized for our wait, was very quick to bring us the beverages we ordered and from there on everything was fantastic. I had the chicken/roast beef club with sweet potato fries and my wife had the french dip and both sandwiches were delicious. Very big portions! Without us asking for anything, our waitress spoke to her manager and he apologized for the wait and to our surprise gave us a discount on the bill. We were very appreciative and what started as a frustrating experience ended very well and we were very happy with how things turned out. Will definitely go back. Things happen, we get that, but its in how they get handled that is key!
All time favorite. We have been doing there since they opened and were owned by a family. The Western Luau rib eye steak is our favorite. We both get the same thing every time. House dressing with hot bacon and honey mustard dressing, cheese toast and rib eye. The company that owns it now has kept the steak the same and added some other great things, like their incredible desserts. I really respect them for keeping the good stuff!
Usually an awesome place! This time was not so awesome. After placing our order for four people,we waited close to an hour for our food while others that sat way after us were already eating. The t bone my husband ordered was rare when he ordered med. well. My husband went to the restroom and on his way he ended up covered in ranch dressing when a waiter ran into him carrying a tray of dressing for a large party. The manager did offer to dry clean his shirt. Our waiter was awesome!! As I said before, its usually an awesome place!
Ya know, Marietta Diner, their food is always good. Here at Cherokee, they are no exception. Had the chopped steak. It was better here than at Marietta. Fries were WAY overcooked. Our waiter quickly got me another order.Service was good. Food was good. You guys always serve.
First time here in 15 years. Used to be known for extremely tender and flavorful steaks. We ordered Ribeyes and sweet potatoes. The steaks were very very chewy, and the flavor was average. Honestly have had better steaks at a buffet. The sweet potato was ok, maybe a 6 or a 7 outta 10. Service was decent and didnt take long to get a table. I miss the old
Made the improper assumption this would offer a nice celebratory dinner after proposing to my girlfriend; nobody spoke to us, took a bit longer than needed for server to take our order and our drinks were never refilled. Steak was cooked to order but sides were sub par and overall bland. Not at all worth the hype or prices, had better food and more fun at Texas Roadhouse. Cannot recommend which is especially upsetting after the horrible experience at a sister restaurant across the street Marietta Fish Market a few years back.
This restaurant is local, but it does feels a bit like a chain. That said, the incredibly friendly service and large portions make this a regular weekly spot for many locals. It is a good value, really great service, and a friendly vibe. I would rate the food well above average too! Casual, kid-friendly and suburban fun.
In passing by, me and husband stopped to get dinner before our play. We are so glad we did! Service was completely excellent- server greeted right away, food was cooked to liking (we both ordered medium steaks) and manager came to check on us during the meal... all with smiles and kind mannerisms! We felt really welcomed here! You won’t be disappointed.
Wife and I both had the sirloin. Steak was thick and juicy. Honestly better than expected, however, given the $18 price tag, it should be that good.Server was quick with drinks and refills. They work well as a team as we had what I assumed to be a manager pick up our plates and help when she could.I feel like the prices have increased a bit over the average place over the years which is a turnoff. Maybe they have to recoup the cost of the fire damage. All in all, still a nice place to go for a good steak.
We had a group Celebration in the back room. The Manager and servers could not have been nicer! We offered the Texas Samplers, open bar and desserts for our guests. The appetizers were freshly made and banquet servers refilled as needed. The servers were very attentive to our guests for drink orders and cleared our tables of used plates. (A pet peeve of mine at any restaurant, as I dont like to have used plates sitting around!) Beware that the desserts are HUGH and yummy! I have eaten at Cherokee Cattle many times before..having hamburger, steak, salads and never disappointed. A must go restaurant if you want great food and service.
Grilled porkchops were excellent! Creamed spinach needed a little more spinach for the amount of cream! The cheese bread on the table was a different and delicious touch! Overall our table of 6 diners were extremely pleased. What had to be corrected eas done so cheerfully and promptly. The msnager paid a visit to see how everything was and our server and the service was excellent@
Have been a long time customer. Food is not nearly as good as it used to be. I have always loved the house salad and dressing. However the last two times, it has been very watery and not very fresh tasting. And, my all time favorite has been the chicken tenders. Not the same recipe as it used to be and very greasy. Service is still superb!
The Valentines Day celebration ambience at the Cherokee Cattle restaurant was lovely, and Fireplace enchanting! The service was good, food delicious, especially the Black wood grill Salmon. The steak soup was some of the best lean & tender soft steak I have tasted- it was like a fine stew soup! Me & wife enjoyed the good restaurant customer service.
Crowded place but seated right away. Ordered the bbq ribs which were some of the most tender, meaty ones Ive ever eaten! Cocktails were solid, not week. Service was exceptional and they were very patient with the 20 month old with us. Great place for family! Yes, I will be back!
Had dinner here last night for the first time. The steak was cooked just as I ordered and very delicious. Our waitress was Rachael, who did a wonderful job taking care of us. Very professional, checked on us regularly too make sure all was OK. Great waitress. We also meet the manager, George. wonderful guy. Made sure all was going well and made sure our dining experience is what we expected. Great place to dine with family and friends.A few days earlier we made our first visit to the Marietta Fish Market. This place was also outstanding. Meet the manager, Liz, oh what a wonderful lady. She made our dining experience so awesome. Will recommend both of these restaurant to all my family and friends.Max & SUE MCLENDONWOODSTOCK, GA.
Im a regular here, maybe once a month. I have always had friendly service, the food is great, and large enough to comfortably share a meal. The pricing is medium about $15-$20 a plate, but if you share plates its perfect. I almost always get the desserts (save room for these!) and there is only one time a cake was dry. I mentioned it to the server, and it was immediately exchanged for another one.
Rare prime rib wasnt really anywhere near rare, but the horseradish sauce was good (and they would have taken the prime rib back, but it just didnt seem worth it tonight to send it back for a NY Strip), Jack Daniels ribs and sides were very good, especially the creamed spinach. The cakes and pies are fantastic! I cant eat them...which I greatly regret, but I bought my wife a piece of suicide chocolate cake, and she enjoyed it! Jesse was a very good server. Overall, were quite likely to return.
This was our second bad experience. The first time we went, it wasnt a good at all, food and service were both crappy, but we thought maybe they were having an off night, so we were willing to give it another try because of how much we love their sister restaurants. That wont happen again. Its too dark inside, the waitress was scarce, we didnt get our salads with our meal. When we said something, She offered to bring our salads out, but we had already got our main meal. We asked if we could just trade it for dessert and were told no, that she could only do the salad, no other option or discount offered. I dont know who likes to eat their salad after their steak, but it aint us. I could of understood if they were packed, or short staffed. Neither appeared to be the case. Not even trying to be ugly, but I expect a little better when were paying $35 a steak. We wont be back.
Our server was very sweet but not very attentive. We needed drinks multiple times, a different server refilled us once. I ordered a baked potato with sour cream and cheese, it only had cheese. I ordered my streak medium rare, it was medium well, and very chewy. The mashed potatoes were delicious though. My husband got the philly cheese steak, he said it was okay, nothing special.
Shared a nice meal there with a friend. Great service! A bit pricey for what you get. Food was excellent. I asked for something to be cooked a particular way and they nailed it! That was awesome! It was only my second time there as the first time I remember not liking it at all. I am glad I tried again.
Service was poor. Food was good. On a Monday night, not even a third full, and our waiter never asked about refills on drinks, couldnt understand a Jack neat, it was a disappointing birthday dinner. We would have been more understanding if they were busy, but they werent and our waiter just bad.
Service is great and food is pretty good sometimes it got the meat arent the best but overall quality is pretty solid. I had the big stick 20 oz bone in ribeye the other day though and there wasnt a ton of flavor to it besides just beef who decide but I expected a little bit more.I still recommend.
I rarely write reviews, but would like to save someone from a worse than mediocre experience. Waitress was great. Very friendly and efficient. Food was pretty bad. Chopped steak was tough and tasted old. Onion rings were hard. Cobb salad had water in the bottom, chicken had a refrigerator taste. Huge disappointment.
We had a fantastic family birthday at this restaurant! Food was great especially the steak and ribs. Our group also had the Cajun salmon Caesar which was also tasty! Our served Rin was attentive and very friendly. The manager Michael also checked in on us! Dont forget to try the brownie....delicious!
This was my first time eating at Cherokee Cattle Company and it was awesome. Went in for lunch to have a steak and it was cooked to perfection. Restaurant was very busy but we did not have to wait for a table or for service. The food came out very quickly and the cheese bread was very good.
Love their cheesy bread. My steak was good. The kids steak was a very nice portion but had too much pepper for my daughter, next time I will just ask them to leave the seasoning off for her. My other daughter lived the kids grilled cheese. Their desserts are also good, we like their eclares.
We had an exceptional waiter name Michael! He took great care of us. We will be back again and will request to sit at one of his tables. The reason I rate the restaurant a 4 is because my Salmon was a little overcooked and my mashed potatoes was slightly over salted, yet my meal was delicious. And their cheese bread, addictive and delicious!!!
This is a great place to stop by on your way from home if your on the mood for a great drink and oh yeah...food! The owner is great and he has grown from being the owner of what was the only 24 hour restaurant in Cobb County (Marietta Diner) to several restaurants in the Cobb area. My go to item at Cherokee is the French Onion Soup and burger. Thats just my thing but I love it. The reason for only 3 stars....is the atmosphere. Its not as warm and friendly as the other spots. May have to do with the entrance set-up. You have to walk through 2 doors before you are greeted. I know that seems small but its really not when you are going out for a dining experience!
My husband ordered a steak for his dinner. The chef who cooked his steak was the best in the business. We have gone to many steakhouses, but this was the best steak my husband had had of all the steak houses we have been to. Not only that my husband put a tip for the chef. Our waiter did not tell us any specials, did not show us the drink list, it was like he just wanted to take our order and that was it. Very disappointed in our waiterThey have a huge selection of cakes. The few slices that we took home that day where wonderful.
We came here and wont be back. We ordered what they said was their specialty - ribeyes. Both were not cooked properly. My husbands was really tough and bleeding. He couldnt even put his fork in it because it was so tough. The waiter offered to take the steaks back, but if they serve them like this, whats the point? We were given a complimentary dessert, but after $65 my husband was still hungry and vowing to never go again.
The food isnt bad. The only problem I have is the manager. My coworkers and I walked in after work and asked for a table. We started walking towards our table and were intercepted by the manager wanting to know why we were there. We hadnt been in the building for more than 2 minutes. I guess he doesnt like blue collar people. We wont be back
Own by same individuals who own Marietta Diner. I did find the food to be loaded with salt or heavy on the spices. Though my plate was very tasty, I was feeling it later as a high sodium/salt meal would do. Great atmospher and location. I only had one meal there so did not want to give a mixed review but I guess I am. The service was excellent and knowledgeable on the menu.
Food 9Service 10Decor 8Price 8Cleanliness 9Steak, brisket, ribs, chicken tenders all excellent and the freshness of the meat could be tasted. We had a party of 4 and were accommodated well. Highly recommend and will return. Ask for Kevin. One of the better customer service experiences in a restaurant.
I was not impressed by my experience at this establishment. I had heard good things about this steakhouse so I decided to give it a try and I wanted to like it but the food was not good. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the prime rib with house salad and fries. The prime rib tasted foul. Something was wrong with that cow. The salad was flavorless and the bread was something you could get in the freezer section at Ingles. The fries were good but nothing special. My family and I had to leave early due to the build up of smoke in the building coming out of the kitchen. Thank God they comped our meal because the experience wasnt worth paying for. Next time well just go to Teds.
Best prime rib I can remember having. Wait staff are fantastic, cheerful and on the ball. Music is upbeat - KC & The Sunshine Band, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Blondie. 3 Dog Night - to name a few (not the current hip hop whatever is on the radio). Bring your appetite!
I have a very long history with this place, all good. Its just not as good as it used to be. I had the Western Luau (again), so did my dad. The steaks were really thin, but nicely marked. I think the recipie was changed with the marinade. Its not as sweet and carmelized the last few times Ive had it. I keep hoping it will be better every time. I know its been a while, but Im also not a fan of the way the new owners hacked up the inside of the restaurant. I thought the raised dining area was unique and more intimate. The patio looks great. I still love this place.
I had a big event at Cherokee Cattle Company, a reunion of the folks who started the cellular industry in 1982, attended by more than forty folks. I reserved the meeting room in the back. The room was perfect. The staff set it up for me. The wait staff did an excellent job of serving. They were very attentive, and kept everyones orders and bills straight, even though people were moving around. The food was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. The event was a great success, and I cant say enough good things about the way the staff took care of us. I highly recommend Cherokee Cattle Company for big events as well as your individual meals!
It is hard to say, I feel it would take at least 30 or more trips to have true opinion of just how great the food is and making a reasonable evaluation on all the desserts might take oh several years and many hours in the gym to really have an honest opinion. If this could be my last meal on death row I would request a speedy trial and no appeals. I would die happy.😃
A cut above the average steakhouse. The ambiance is about what youd expect with the exception of the somewhat garish multicolored LEDs over the bar which seem out of place in a western themed decor. Rue food is good, the steaks cooked mostly to order, and the service is OK. Of all the restaurants owned by the group, this one is the most unimpressive. It doesnt wow you like the others and at times, it doesnt feed much different than a Longhorns.
My wife and I first came here several years ago after a friend gave us a gift certificate, and it has become one of our favorites. The owner has several restaurants in the area, and theyre all great, but Cherokee Cattle is definitely our go-to.Theyre my number one choice for a quick business lunch because theyre EASY to get to and everyone likes them (I also really appreciate the friendly feel of the place - hard to put into words, but suffice it to say that I dont think Ive ever been in that I havent run into someone else that I know). Theyre also perfect for drinks after work...you dont have to talk over loud music, and the staff is super-friendly (they somehow manage to hit that sweet spot between bugging you to death and leaving you alone so you can talk). Dinner is always excellent, too, although we do that more infrequently since it means showing up with two kids in tow...All in all, while weve always enjoyed the place, I agree with some of the other posts that the recent change in management has really put them over the top. If I remember correctly, the new manager transferred in from one of the owners other restaurants, and its pretty clear why they brought him over...the food is still GREAT, and I dont think Ive been in since Mike started that I didnt leave talking about the amazing service.
I love this place. Theres comfort food, great steaks, some ethnic food and desserts to die for. Full bar for those who want it, and good service. One location for many years, and management that keeps their eye on things. I absolutely recommend you give this place a try...
Went there for lunch on my wifes birthday. The service was excellent! The cheese bread was delicious. We both ordered the 30 day wet aged rib eye because we were told it was the best tasting and most tender, they said you could cut it with a fork. Honestly, we couldnt tell a difference between the ribeye we got and a regular ribeye. They were cooked perfectly (medium rare) and had good (not great) flavor but not very tender. You could make a dent with a fork but definitely not cut it. Infact, I had to saw a bit with a steak knife on most of it. I tend to think they possibly mixed up the order and have us regular ribeyes. The creamed spinach and potato were both great sides. The cheese cake my wife got for her birthday was also very good. Take home message is to just order the regular ribeye instead of the 30 day wet aged one, no big difference between the two except the $20 price difference. God bless and TRUMP 2020!!
My steak was terrible. Burned on the outside and bloody on the inside. Not to mention 60% of it was pure fat. Add absolutely terrible service from our waiter and you get one miserable dinner on a Saturday night! Thank goodness there was an older gentleman playing great music on the guitar. Without that I would have left.
My wife and me have been six times and all was superb. We went on valentines day for a prime rib. What happened? The meat was dry, tough and stone cold. I had a side of broiled mushrooms and half way through I found some broiled carton/cardboard in my bowl. Completely put me off my dinner. I asked for the check.I have no idea what happened, but on valantines day. Really!?Not sure were coming back.
Came in on Monday,October 7th, 2019. Ordered the cattlemans prime rib. It must have been leftover from the weekend because it was dry, nasty tasting and Im pretty sure it was microwaved because it had that microwave flavor. I hope they enjoy the money they cheated me out of because I will never step foot in the place again and will tell my story as often as I can.
1st time here but regulars at Marietta Fish Market and have been to Marietta Diner once. The same wonder food and more important the staff and managers ate always so gracious and kind. I cant speak highly enough of the experience I have every time I go to this chain of restaurants
Oh my god, the food, the service and atmosphere is theeee best weve experienced in our time in Georgia...hands down. Our host...Macy is great and attentive to our requests...she accommodated me when I special requested an additional topping on my fries without hesitation....yes, yes, yes! Good stuff
A bit expensive, so we dont go that often, but always worth the trip. Still has the best chicken tenders Ive had, the steak soup is great, my wife had the chicken salad sandwich with steamed vegetables, and said the veggies were perfect, not overcooked. One suggestion: make sure the coffee is fressh. My first cup tasted like it was left over from the night before.
This is one of five restaurants owned by the Marietta dining company and it is just as fabulous as the rest. Come on for a great steak dinner and leave full and content that this meal is one to remember. I had the filet and it melted in my mouth. The French Onion Soup was a great starter and so rich and decadent. If youre in the Atlanta area, I highly recommend this place.
I told my friends about this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The meals are flavorable and the team is efficient and cooperative. Every time we visit this place we enjoy a lovely time. I warmly recommend this restaurant.
Our Waitress was very nice and helpful(even though she burnt her hand with a hot plate) It is a Cozy environment and The Manager came around all the tables to make sure we where satisfied with our food and service. The only thing was that I was not to keene on there well drinks.
Been going here a couple times a year, since I was a kid, ordering the same thing (Western Luau) as long as I can remember. The past three visits Ive gotten a terrible cut of meat & the flavor isnt what it used to be. I complained the first time, was comped & gave it a second chance. I got the same results & said I wouldnt go back. Last night, some family from out of town came in & they wanted to eat there. Silly me gave it another shot & got a thin, over cooked & under flavored steak. I paid 75 dollars for two of us & it was not worth it at all. Everyone else at the table said their food was just Ok. Two stars are because the gentleman at the front was very nice, plus the cheese bread & house dressing are still on par! Im going for steak though, but unfortunately will likely never go back.
Last sat was my first time at the restaurant. Ive been wanting to try this restaurant so my boyfriend made my birthday dinner reservations here. There was about 15 of us so I completely understand that it would take a little longer for our food. However, our waitress didnt take our orders until 30 mins we were there and then once we ordered it took over 1.5hrs. Also, by the time the food came out to us it was already cooled down and cold for some.. The waitress pretty much dropped my friends salad bowl on the table like the bowl weighed a ton. One of my other friend got the wrong drink so she asked the waitress if she can get the one that she wanted. The waitress just walked away and said that thats what she ordered. We then asked another person who worked there (probably manger) and he gladly took the wrong drink to switch with the correct one. However, my friend NEVER got her drink.... AND she got charged for it. Our waitress didnt even check up on us. Its probably because gratuity was already included. I feel bad for some of friends who drove a long way here to have such bad service.
Service was personable Ms Vicki was a sweetheart. The food was good & everything was big, ie. Texas size the potato soup, steak soup 👌🏽. The prime rib I had was great as well as the creamed spinach. We got a whole strawberry cream cheese cake for my g bby Birthday & a young lady carried to the car for us. Great experience as are the other family of restaurants. The only thing that got me a little was the constant country music, it would have been better to have a mixture of popular music. 🦋
This is our favorite neighborhood go-to. We go at least once every two weeks, sometimes more often. The menu is huge, the service is consistently good, and then there are the amazing desserts. We usually get steaks - one time I ordered a filet that was just not very good at all, and my husbands prime rib that same night was not up to par, either. We asked to speak to the manager, who said he would take care of it on our check. To our surprise, he zeroed out our entire balance - dinner was free.It may not be perfect and it may not be a high-end steak house, but for a local place, its pretty darned good. Hint: Try the Western Luau ribeye - YUM!
I visited Cherokee Cattle Company last night; with family. We had a wonderful experience! Being from New Jersey, I am a big fan of the Marietta Family Restaurants. I have never received less than stellar service. Our server Deborah was awsome! She was very attentive and made sure our orders were correct.
Great food, Great service. Mike, the manager is a friendly guy that visited our table before I made a special request to our server. The desserts are incredible and I especial enjoy the eclairs. They were out and I told the server that she needed to go and find me one as that is the reason I came. (I was joking but I did have on my game face so she was not sure) She smiled and said she would do what she could. Mike came over and asked who was the guy looking to send his server up the street for the eclair? My response was Have you had your eclairs?True story, 5 min later I am enjoying an eclair that the hostess ran up to their sister restaurant (Marietta fish) and got me! We all had a great laugh and I enjoyed a great meal, service and eclair! Thanks Mike, and my server!Mike
Cherokee Cattle Company has some of the best food in Marietta. Very down to earth restaurant and awesome staff! Ask for Carl Moore, one of the best servers, I’ve had at not just this restaurant but at most. Super friendly and always puts a smile on my smile when I come in! A must try place on your restaurant check list.
We got there early and were seated immediately. The rest of our party was coming a few minutes behind us and I explicitly expressed that to the person serving as host. Long story short, we were a 9 person party who they initially attempted to put at a 6 person table. I asked to be sat at the 10 person table, and he politely obliged. Then a woman came to our table and insisted that we needed to be put at a bigger table. We went back and forth a few times with me insisting that we would be fine at the 10 person table. Silly, really. We all got seated in the end. Our waiter was very nice, prompt and attentive. After we ordered, we started noticing the room filling with smoke. It got to the point where I was wondering if there was a fire somewhere. I would recommend above anything that they have their ventilation system evaluated and updated. THEN the power went out. This was completely out of the control of the restaurant and do not hold them accountable for it. The smoke was out of control. It was a very unpleasant experience. We were served our food about a minute after the power went out. My salad had slimy, limp lettuce mixed throughout it. The bleu cheese dressing was practically flavorless. I mean....blue cheese with no flavor? I didnt know there was such a thing. My husbands prime rib had a really funky taste to it. My pork chops were yummy. The fries were nothing special at all. My daughters chicken tenders were super yummy. We were able to eat a few bites of everything before the smoke got to the point that my asthma was acting up and everyones eyes were watering and burning. The staff were apologetic and very kind. They comped our entire meal which was very nice of them. All in all....I wasnt impressed. Theres potential there but a LOT of work to be done. I probably wont go back.
Recently treated a business associate and his wife to dinner her. Lets start with the best surprise. Our server was Sydney and you could not have asked for better service. She served us with a bright smile and a quick wit and was on top of everything from the greeting to bringing us boxes for the leftovers.Second the food - all of it was PERFECT and served quickly at the PERFECT (requested) temperature...filet, prime rib, and bourbon salmon. Our table was checked or frequently (but not annoyingly) and all of our needs, drink refills, condiments, etc. were anticipated and deivered without our asking. After the meal the table was cleared and wiped down so we could have a brief business meeting.I would score Cherokee Cattle Company, Sydney, and the management higher than just a measly 5 if possible. Bit, since I can only award a 5 that is what I will give Cherokee Cattle Company and Sydney - knowing that the 5 is possibly the most understated review I have ever given.
We had a wonderful meal at Cherokee Cattle company. My husband had the ribeye, I had the filet. Both were amazing in taste, and cooked to perfection. The cheese bread is quite good. It was hot and fresh. Our waiter, Ronnie, was great with our kids and kept our drinks fresh and filled. The cheesecake is a MUST TRY. Delish!
I always take my family here and never had an issue. Service and food are always great but we went yesterday got sat instantly and our server never came to the table!!! All the servers passed just looked at us with no greet even the busser cleaned a table and i was trying to get his attention and he didnt even turn around to see us when the table was 3 tables down from were we was seated. Im a manager been in the restaurant industry for about 10 years and at least one person could have taken there time to greet us and grab some drinks for us. Me and my husband were very dissapointed I guess they thought we didnt have no money little did they know I always tip great. Never going back!!!
Disappointing meat quality for a steakhouse. This place has been around for at least 20 years, and back in the day this was one of those steakhouses that was a real treat to eat in and typically required at least a 30-45 minute wait. It slipped in the late 90s and all of the other locations went out except this one. It has been purchased a few years back by the same folks who run Marietta Diner. So we started going again as that team knows how to run a good restaurant. Theyve made tons of improvements to the facility, it looks great. Services is top notch and the food is good as long as you stay away from the steaks. Yeah, you heard me, a steakhouse where Im not recommending the steaks.I dont know what level of meat they source, but my taste buds are of the opinion its definitely not prime, and maybe not even choice. Now dont get me wrong, I dont expect a $50 steak for $20, but I do expect something a few notches above shoe leather. Order a steak in here and you better have yourself a good set of chompers, a sharp steak knife and a big ole bottle of A1.So why even go in at all? Well, I keep hoping for the day that they add some decent cuts on the menu for a slightly higher price. In the meantime, try the chicken and ribs. Youll get a half rack of tasty baby backs along with some classic hand cut hand breaded chicken tenders. Dont forget the obligatory slice of cake the size of your head for dessert. My tip for Cherokee Cattle Co? Go to Marietta Fish Market down the street a ways instead and have some seafood, and use CCC as your plan b if the wait at the fish market is too long.
Horribly busy and the front entrance is way worth than their sister business Marietta Diner. There is a handicap park area but is graded to be 5 feet higher than the ground around it. My grandma took a spill and went right down. Their staff did nothing about it or even attempted to run outside and help. Id like to give the benefit of the doubt but 7 customers saw and 4 ran to her aid faster than I could get out of the car. Never go here again...which is a huge shame. The food was unbelievable good. Only reason it gets 2 stars instead of none along with a BBB report.
I went last night with my family (9 people and 2 kids). The restaurant was mostly empty but it still took the over an hour to bring out our food. I ordered the Jack Daniels Ribs which was a big mistake. I have had beef jerky that was easier to chew. Most of the rest of the family had the bacon wrapped filet that were good but almost all were over cooked. We go to Cherokee Cattle Co. often and every one in a while have had questionable service, but last night was the first time I was completely disappointed.
We have been going here for years. They even have 3 different horseysauces to choose from for your prime rib - hot, the usual cold & straight up. Love the baked potato soup, cheese bread, house dressing of hot bacon grease & homeymustard. I dont like chicken fingers at most places but theirs is delish!! Lunch menu & Senior dinner menu. $2.75 for sweet tea so I always get one to go! They also serve alcohol & a very nice bar.
Ordered my favorite, Grilled pork chops and I was somewhat disappointed. Chops were tough, had to use Worcestershire sauce and Texas Pete hit sauce along with salt and pepper for flavor. My wife ordered the grilled Salmon Caesar salad, she said the Salmon was fine, but the Caesar salad had too much Caesar dressing and the lettuce was not crispy (almost limpy). Dressing was not good. We both have had the same dishes before without any issues and we figured that it would be worth the trip from Powder Springs for our favorites. Not this time. Service was adequate, nothing outstanding.
Im a meat and potatoes person... The hamburgers are very good here for a lunch visit... Mine was a little over cooked but still very good. If you go here tried the fried pickles... I didnt think it sounded good either but they are awesome here - not that salty taste like other places.
Great service, nice portions...but not the best steak I have had, honestly. I paid more here been for a strip, and my wife for the ribeye, than we would at a Lonhorn or similar steak joint, but the flavor in those other places is superior. My wife likes a ribeye due to the marbli g and added juiciness that it brings, but her ribeye was over cooked and a bit dry, taking the good flavorful juices away. We wanted to try it, for once, to see how bbn it stacked up to the other restaurants under the same ownership...but this one was lacking a bit. Maybe we need a 2nd visit just to be sure, but my wife is now wishing we had just gone to Longhorn or even Texas Roadhouse for her birthday.
This place is seriously not worth the money you will spend!! Food was VERY MEDIOCRE! SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Our server only stopped in one time to check on us and that was to get us a refill before our food was brought out and to give us our check. I know the manager herd me say out loud that I was very dissatisfied and all he did was walk away...yeah, I’m not coming back
My stir fry was cold. My dads steak was well asked for medium. My cousins was medium rare asked for medium well. Had to get up and get our own water for refills. Server wasnt all that great and when we told the server it was someones bday he said cool brought out a slice of cheesecake and left. We asked if they sang or anything, he said no. 5 minutes later 4 servers went to table near ours and... sang while giving their customer cheesecake. Came all the way form Spartanburg SC and wont be back.
My first time here and I had a horrible experience. They didnt even show us to our table we was there for a party and they told us to follow the tile to the back. Sorry for being an inconvenience to you. And then our waitress had an attitude she slammed my salad on the table and kept rolling her eyes at everyone at the table. If the tip wasnt included she wouldnt have gotten anything from our table. And to top it off our food came out cold. I will never return.
Did you ever have one of those days? When everything worked out perfect. Today was that day and it was capped off by one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. It started when we walked in the door and the greeter met us with a smile. She was engaged and seemed glad to see us. From that point forward each and every employee was engaged and involved with our complete dining experience. We had the new KIK Ribeye, it was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The marinade was amazing and the steak was cooked just right. Our Server was attentive but didnt hover. The first drink we ordered was not available but she came up with an alternative that was as good or better.Going out to dinner isnt just about the food, it is about the dining experience. I felt like I was in a mountain lodge on vacation, and my every need was met. I would recommend CCC to anyone looking for a great steak and a great experience.Remember I said that everyone was engaged, well it all started with leadership. We not only saw a manager, we saw 2 managers, and they where both great, we saw each of them more than one time. Somewhere there are leaders who trained these people, for that I thank you for you pursuit of excellence. My hat is off to the Cherokee Cattle Company. Well DONE.
Top notch premium food! Cozy atmosphere,Service is exceptional!!! Everyone is happy, helpful and fun to be around...particularly Kevin.the manager and Nick one of the servers He was so nice and proactive . This is my second time this week coming to get my fav Philly heese steak.Robbie...another mgr. Came to check on me too! The grest customer service keepsbu coming ack for more! A MUST EATTING DESTINATION!
Great new app. Tater tots on fajita sizzling hot pan with fahitta peppers and onions with shredded cheese and queso on top. With cheestake beef mixed in it. The flavor profile is awsome. Would also be great with some sour cream and salsa on the side. Yummy! Compliments to the chef!
This classic steak house makes a return on Canton Hwy. The signature soups, salads and extras have been recaptured as the crew that owns Marietta Diner have reopened this steakhouse.I generally go for the tenders and ribs combo as a highlight on the menu. The steak soup or baked potato soup are also outstanding sides.I would have given it 4 stars if they would just put a prime steak item on the menu as I could make a steak this good at home.Still this is well worth the visit.
Best steak in GA. Dont get caught up on the weird interior (Cattleman style decor) because the food is quite delicious. The sear marks on the steak (I like mine medium rare with a torched outside) are heavenly mostly because they arent gassing their meats like some of the other guys in ATL. Ive been to a bunch of places in the states for steak and this one is my go to for GA.
Horrible experience...the restaurants temperature was way too cold... food was just okay but way over priced. Drinks were so weak that it was a total waste of money. The server was the worst. He made racial Mexican jokes, and worst yet he made a thats what she said joke in front of my kid.I normally give a restaurant two chances but I was so disappointed that I will never go back here again.
As I travel often for business, I eat out many times each month. Most dining experiences these days, unfortunately, leave much to be desired. This evenings experience was different. I was greeted with a smile and when I mentioned my collegue was outside finishing a phone call, the hostess was pleasant and engaging. So unlike the Applebees hostess the day before who said We cant sit you until your entire party is present. When we were seated at CCC, the waitress, Deborah, was attentive, recommended a great dish in the kik in ribeye, and provided the perfect amount of service. Two managers checked in on us during the meal and in both cases these guys were very engaging. As I read other reviews on this site, I wondered which restaurant they visited. Everything about the experience was exceptional, service, food, and ambiance. They created an engaged customer tonight. Ill be back every time I am in the area. Dave Gregory
Great friendly service, casual, clean, rustic environment, nice bar. Prime time Friday, quickly seated. Server was helpful, good suggestions. The TX Margarita holds a TX sized wollop. Beware that fish bowl glass likes to slip away from you. 🌟Super, reasonably priced bottles of wine on well rounded list🌟 Steak and sides were as good as any. Its not Outback nor Longhorns. Its a definite step up, and worth it if you get the hankering. Id take it a n y time over Lil Alley which would have been 50 bux more, a road trip away, and teeming with tons of people. CCC is laid back and perfectly situated. Best overall in OTP-NW.

2018-04-06As we were heading to another restaurant my man points out this place so we turned around. We get seated right away. We started looking around at the restaurant and noticed the place was clean. The antler chandeliers and sconces give it a rustic feel and arent in your face or so bright that you feel like your on stage. The staff was attentive and personable. He ordered the t-bone platter with onions, mushrooms, and blue cheese, grilled asparagus, seafood stuffed shrimp, and loaded baked potato. I ordered the surf n turf with onions, mushrooms, and blue cheese, grilled asparagus, loaded baked potato, and added seafood stuffed mushrooms. Pictures are added so you can see. Everything was cooked to perfection. I am very particular about how I like my steak and they got it right. The seafood stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp and the seafood stuffed mushrooms are amazing and a must have along with the grilled asparagus that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs cause we also got German chocolate cake to go and took a bite before we closed the box and its heaven. We will definitely be returning. This place is off the beaten path, has plenty of parking and is top notch in my book.

2019-08-02My experience wasnt super fantastic here, which was disappointing. We were seated immediately, but then waited over 5 min before someone finally stopped to take our drink order... Multiple people walked by before that, so it was super irritating. We had our menus down within the first couple of min of sitting down & were ready to order, but the server didnt pick up on that cue so he took our drink order & walked away.We ordered... Food came out super fast, which was nice; however, it was just marginal. Ive had a better steak from Texas Roadhouse. Our server didnt refill our drinks at all while we were eating.

2020-02-15Went here tonight, but have many nights before and the service was just amazing as usual. Trevor was our server tonight and even with it being Valentine’s Day he was on top of everything. Food is always perfect here and the cheesecake is to die for! We usually request Megan but she no longer works for the company, but I found Trevor was just as amazing as her and we will return to ask for him. My family eats here a lot and I usually have my birthday dinners here, and I have never had a time in the past 4 years that this place has disappointed me.

2020-02-18Very friendly service, they checked up on us often and made sure we were okay. When we didnt like a meal they replaced it, no charge. Food was excellent. If you go for your birthday they give you a free piece of cheesecake.

2019-12-12Dinner was great. I know the steaks are probably why people go here, but I had to try the ribs. They were VERY GOOD! We also had the Black Jack salmon, which was nicely seasoned. We were at a Christmas party and had shared appetizers. I highly recommend the fried pickles. They were thinly sliced and much better than others Ive tried. Our friends really liked the calamari and said it wasnt chewy like it is at many places. For cocktails/drinks you cant go wrong with the Blue Cowboy or the Strong Island Iced tea.

2019-05-12Wifes birthday celebration. It was our first time dining here and we didnt realize they had recently had a loss in the family. To be able to deliver first class service even under unfortunate circumstances is an absolute attestment of true excellence.
