We came in and we’re seated quickly, the staff was amazing, every server watched every table. They tripped over each other to make sure everyone was not going without. It was quiet, romantic- clean! We had the cocktails, the friend shrimp the octopus and the Chilean Sea Bass- and my picky wife didn’t complain one time!!! I’d give them 10 stars!
Very overpriced and totally underwhelming. 1hr plus wait time on a Tuesday. I say in open seating at the bar. I expected it to be great, lots of good buzz. Paid 16$ for a bowl of she crab soup. The soup was overly sweet and every other spoonful had crab shells in it. Busy kitchen I understand long wait times, but I dont understand my soup appetizer arriving and then waiting 4 minutes for a spoon. Had I got to 5 I would have left. My entrée was the double stuffed grilled chicken wing over vegetables (35$). That was also a 20 minutes wait. The wings arrived hot and rubbery, with the taste of salty under cooked gummy stuffing. The vegetables were cold, overcooked and tasteless. The bar staff was definitely busy and not particularly chatty to certain people. The better part of 60$ and 2+hrs Ill never get back.
We randomly picked this spot so we weren’t sure what to expect but were completely blown away. The chic decor was very charming and welcoming. Our cocktails were awesome (When Pigs Fly was dangerously delicious) and the food was incredible. The Chilean sea bass and red curry sauce melted in your mouth, it was cooked perfectly. Marissa was lovely and Anthony was an absolute peach and took fantastic care of us. We’ll probably come back again before we leave, it was that great :)
We came here for dinner on a Friday night - arrived right before 5pm and there was a line forming outside already. The inside is very intimate but still fairly spacious. Their seating is comfy and some of the booths are basically like big couches! The food was absolutely delicious - I recommend the steamed clams, the stuffed chicken wing, and anything with their red curry sauce. They also served a special birthday treat for our mom. They don’t take reservations so definitely show up early or expect to wait a little. This is also definitely a “splurge” kind of restaurant so be prepared for that too.
As I dined on lunch in front of the restaurant, I lost count of how many people burst out, that looks great! as they eyed my Ahi Tuna Salad walking by. In fact, it was the best meal I had had in Savannah. The tuna was cooked perfectly, its asian seasoning adding a little spice and crunch to the fresh, lightly seared sushi-grade meat. The salad portion was well thought out too. Fresh greens and avocado with a variety of fruit, some sweet like grapes and others bittersweet like strawberry and grape tomatoes. The ginger dressing was sweet and spicy, but not overwhelming. My wife had the Crispy Chicken, which was breaded and fried white meat in the style of chinese sweet and sour chicken. If youve never had that dish using fresh, top-notch ingredients, you really should. My daughter dined on a couple of appetizers, the She Crab Soup and the Vegetable Rolls. The veggie rolls were also a high grade version of what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. The vegetables were fresh and the plumb/duck sauce was the best Id ever had, sweet and distinctively peachy, Georgia style. The soup was merely very good. Fresh chunks of crab in a creamy soup with a strong sherry flavor topped with raw chives. But very good dishes at Chive stand out, because everything else is so great, from the food to the service.I look forward to returning, maybe for dinner, so I can try more of the menu. And, I look forward to trying the other restaurants owned by the same executive group, many of them nearby. One thing to note, when dining outside here, the seats are very close to the pedestrian traffic. When people privately remarked to one another how good my food looked, I had no problem interjecting into their conversation that it was in fact, fantastic. I enjoyed the give and take, but I know not everyone is in a NY state of mind.
Stepped into Chive for a late lunch. As always the atmosphere was great. They had beautiful music playing. The staff was super nice and our server Stephanie was great. The she crab soup was bussing and my friend got the shrimp salad. Definitely check this place out when you have time.
I ended up here because of the good (!!??) reviews, but oh boy! this place was a -bad- journey back to the eighties, from the decoration, the atmosphere, the presentation of the dishes, down to the music! The food was terrible, the ceviche was warm and tasteless, same as the crab cake and sea bass, they put the same bland sauce on top of everything and then present it with a slice of orange, thats all. The one star is for the hostess , very kind and hardworking, waiter service was ok too. Very bad food, very expensive, the only thing upscale about this restaurant are the prices. I would not recommend it to anyone, food was awful, proceed at your own risk.
Absolutely fantastic food. You can tell everything was cooked with care and attention. Wish I wouldve taken more photos but the scallops were wonderful and the sear on them were *chefs kiss*. The lamb absolutely stole the show. They were the best lamb chops Ive ever had and even the veggies were very flavorful and couldve been a standalone dish! Great experience and a great staff as well.
Wow! First time here for both of us. The food choices were all amazing, and we saw many dishes go to tables by us. The thing that impressed me the most is that everyone in the staff works as a team, probably better than Ive ever seen in ANY restaurant! Try the she crab soup! The wine list is tailored to the menu, with just the right amount of reasonable choices! Great bar and atmosphere! Try the specials! Cant wait to go back!
For our last night in Savannah, my husband and I had dinner at Chives tonight. We sat at the bar with attentive and engaging service with bartenders Sam & Scott. My husband started with raw oysters that were way better than another Savannah restaurant we went to the other night. We both had salads: Japanese Mushroom Salad (husband) and Mango & Arugula Salad for me. Both were delicious. Dinners were Chilean Sea Bass and Prawn Risotto--more deliciousness. Great way to end our trip with our BEST meal in Savannah!
Wow! We really loved the sophisticated, but small Chive Sea Bar & Lounge. It does NOT take reservations, so your best bet is to arrive early. We walked in as soon as the doors opened and were immediately seated. A mere 24 minutes later the place was packed - no seats available, including the bar.We had already made reservations for our dinners well in advance of our tripto Savannah. Chive was a late addition thanks to ALL the wonderful comments we heard from locals about this place. So, we decided to add it to our itinerary for its cocktails and appetizers ahead of our dinner elsewhere. After reviewing the Signature Cocktail menu, I selected the Jitterbug. It consisted of vodka, strawberries, basil and lemon. For appetizers, we tried the vegetable spring rolls (four per order) and a dozen New England oysters (lemon, cocktail sauce, saltine crackers on the side. Hot sauce is available, too, if thats your speed!). Everything was amazing! We definitely want to come back for dinner on our next visit. Cheers!
Incredible food and vibe! Chilean sea bass was out of this world delicious!! Cant recommend this place enough. Phenomenal service (Thank you Marco and the rest of the team!). Everything was great (including the delicious salmon with wonderful salad and rich cheesecake), but particularly recommend the Chilean sea bass which was exceptional. Decor and vibe is fun, friendly, and hip. Recommend a visit if your are in Savannah!!
One of the best culinary and dining experiences I have ever had!The service was amazing, from host to servers to managers. Everyone was very kind and personable. The food...oh man ... Everything was extremely delicious. The crab cake, fish specials, steaks, salmon...it was all delicious.I would say the risotto is not traditional and is not cooked per order but it is still good.
Phenomenal food, ambiance, and service! My husband and I walked in on a Friday night and sat at the bar for about 10 min before our table was ready (not bad at all for a Friday night!). We started with the chive mussels as an appetizer. Incredible flavors, this is a different take on mussels with fennel, turmeric, and yellow curry. It was absolutely delicious and unique. Next we split the surf and turf special, the wagyu was perfectly cooked and delicious, the lobster was also fantastic. We finished with the prawn risotto, which did not disappoint, it was hearty, comforting, and perfectly cooked. Mario was our fantastic server who was super helpful with helping us decide on what to order. This place is wonderful, well definitely be back!
Nice ambiance. Good food. Wonderful service. The bartender created a new drink for us that we named Bulsajo (the Phoenix)! A vibrant red orange drink with gin, vodka, cranberry juice and crushed basil. It was sweet, tangy with a little kick! If you go here please ask for the Phoenix!
Tried Chive mussels and Oceans five. My boyfriend and I really loved their yellow and red curry, which were the base for those two dishes. Also enjoyed their classy and elegant atmosphere and it was just perfect for the hot date! Will definitely go back there again. :)
Very good food and service. We went for lunch and the food was so good, we came back for dinner. We had the Chalian Seabass and Tune Ceviche for lunch with Blood Orange Martinis and local daft beer. For dinner, we had the Muscles (ask for extra bread) and cheesecake with Blood Orange and Bees Knees Martinis. The staff was on point and great service from the Three Musketeers at the bar!If your are trying to dave money, go at lunch and try the lunch specials. I saw a couple of people eating the Filet Mignon and they stated it was delicious. I will return and try it for myself.I had an former seafood restaurant owner seated next to me and he was very impressed with the Stripped Bass and Muscles. We loved the food so much, we returned again. Delicious food and fabulous service!
Yes. The price is over 100 for two. Short story, you get what you pay for. Our bill was 190 with an appetizer, two jitter bug drinks, two entrees, and a tip. We enjoyed ourselves. We ordered an appetizer for two, arrived quickly. Waiter was very nice and suggested we try the two specials, waygu and lobster. What a delicious meal for two! We read the reviews, saw the 5 stars and great experiences from others, so we tried it out. No disappointments. Get there early. We arrived at 530 and were promptly seated and all done by 7PM. We sat outside. Nice atmosphere with everything going on around us. Next time were in Savannah, well be back!
Had an amazing dinner here this evening. Each of us tried a different entree and everything was outstanding! The she crab soup was phenomenal! Over the years, we’ve enjoyed some wonderful meals out while visiting Savannah. This was among the best. Highly recommended. Our server, Donovan, was personable, engaging, made good recommendations and provided 5-star service.
Dined here on two separate trips to Savannah. Wish they would take reservations, but thats not a deal-breaker because they are efficient.Rather than making you stay on site, they take your number and text when your table is ready. That allows for roaming around a little if its peak time. The service, food, cocktails, and atmosphere are second to none. Some friends took us on our first visit. There was a group of 7 adults, and everyone was raving about it. The second time, it was my husband, our teenage daughter, and me. On top of all the other pluses, they made a great mocktail which she thoroughly enjoyed. We always recommend Chive to others, and weve never heard anything but great feedback.I highly recommend the sea bass. Some of the best weve had!
Arrived to town late, so I strolled in right after 9pm. Because I was solo I had to sit at the bar, which turned out great. The bar is full service so I had my choice from the menu and everything was great, right along with the service I received from the bartenders. The She Crab Soup is definitely a winner!
The food we were able to order was good. Our server was like wheres Waldo. He LOVED to spend time at the bar chatting up the bartender or hanging out in the kitchen. We were there an hour and a half and I was only able to order an entree. I wanted more, but alas server had social business to take care of.
Amazing place for seafood. The venue is beautiful, nice atmosphere, and incredible staff. I ordered the Chive muscles and the flounder stuff with crab. The muscles are amazing. I had to ordered extra bread so I could soak up more of the broth/sauce. The fish was a little disappointing. The curry sauce took away from the fish and crab meat flavors. And the spinach that came with it was bland and greasy. I barely ate any of it. I should have asked for the sauce on the side since I was not a big fan of it. Three or four of their dishes on the menu had the same curry red sauce, which I found weird, and/or lazy on the chef to come up with different flavors.
I brought my best friend here for her birthday and everything was amazing! Our server, Sydney, was beyond AMAZING and provided great recommendations! You must try the Blood Orange Martinis, Chive Mussels, Calamari, Lamb Chops w/ Risotto, Grilled Lobster with Risotto, and the Chocolate Marquis! Next time I’ll be trying to lobster and shrimp spring rolls! You won’t be disappointed!
Yes, and No. First of all, this place should NOT be named, Chive. It should be named Red Curry because red curry sauce is in every dish. All over the menu, each dish has red curry sauce.Hostess is nice and works hard. We put our name down and 1.5hrs later, she asked us if we wouldnt mind sitting at a table that was a little bit away from the rest of the tables, (next door in front of the souvenir shop). Whatever, we were hungry. I asked her earlier, quietly, if they could do something for our dessert when we came back for our anniversary, and wanted it to be a surprise. She took care of it.Our waiter, Anthony was really awesome, once he recovered from the snafu of introducing himself, then proceeding to announce he heard we were there for our anniversary. Oof. It worked out well in the end, so no harm, no foul. Hes funny and we had some good banter going.I asked him about all the red curry sauce and he said I could try it or get it on the side, but its spicy even if Anthony doesnt think it is.We started with the Chive mixed grill for 2, which was $27. It came with 3 each, buffalo, & scallops for $27. For 2. Should be four pieces. Thats just stupid. For dinner we ordered Chilean Sea Bass which was delicious and the crab stuffed flounder, which I didnt like at all, but my husband thought was ok. Only issue was my Bass was way too salty. By the time we got back to our room, my toes and fingers were swollen from the salt. They also use too much oil to cook. Theres no reason any food needs to be sitting in a pool of oil, with big chucks of garlic in his spinach. Those are the two biggest confirmations of lack of skill. So, service was great, food was good-ish, but not for the price.
Food is so good. Octopus ding was great same as our dinner plate: crab cakes and striped bass. Prices are ok, affordable for the food and service. Cons: They dont have kids menu but we asked for a steak ding...so good! Should be better with some fries..well kids loves fries 😜!..Service was great, our waitress Serena was amazing! Restrooms were clean and disinfected. Happy hours, excellent! Only recommendation: please add kid menu.
We sat at the bar for drinks and dinner and it was awesome! Joe, Jumangi and Sam were the best bartenders. Excellent drinks! Best spicy Moscow mule Ive ever had and perfect whiskey sour with a stunning presentation. Loved the Chilean sea bass and steak. Great time! Try the stuffed chicken wing!
Really good seafood fusion restaurant. The staff were really awesome, very friendly and welcoming. The food was also very delicious. Unfortunately we couldn’t get oysters, but the She Crab Soup and the Chilean Sea Bass were amazing! We also got the Ocean’s 5, which is a nice Thai curry style seafood soup with noodles. Overall really good.
Food was delicious. Service was great. I had the fried shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. Also had the crab stuffed chicken wings and I was definitely pleased with that. The risotto with tomatos, edamame & asparagus was so delicious. Also the key lime desert is great. The waiter was great also. As a first time customer I will definitely be coming back
The atmosphere here is modern & beautiful. Typically a 1-2hr wait but worth it. We’ve been about 5 times so far. The only place I’ll order fish in Savannah. Comes out like you ordered in the gulf. Absolutely delicious. The mussels in sauce with bread is to die for y’all!!
My entrée was great and so was my cocktail, and my wife enjoyed hers also. However I have to take away two stars because the waiter kept forgetting that I’m allergic to orange and they love garnishing everything with an orange slice, and the spring rolls were bought in and cooked in the store, not made fresh. If you’re going to be in expensive restaurant you can’t be buying your food in. Also, garnishes should be individual dish by dish not the same on everything but that’s my smallest issue
Best seafood dinner in Savannah. Hands down. The Chive mussels are a must - order extra bread because you’re going to want to sop up every ounce of that goodness. The Chilean sea bass is excellent as well as the stuffed blue cobia (special the night we were in). Out of this world. We finished with a tuxedo bomb, and it was the perfect ending. Light and airy. Service was excellent.
Dinner was absolutely incredible! Sam, our server, was as good as it gets. Very attentive and informative. Gave us great recommendations. Their sauces really made the meal. The mussels were prepared in a yellow curry. Some of the best I’ve had. We also had the Chilean sea bass with their red curry. Another winner. Make sure to order the Dungeness crab. Very cool presentation and absolutely delicious. Super fresh. If you’re looking for amazing seafood with a cool twist, this is the spot! Ask for Sam he was awesome.
Chive Sea Bar and Lounge was fantastic!! 🤩 Started with expert cocktails while we waited to be seated. Followed it up with calamari and raw oysters after getting a table. Then experienced the best Wagyu steak and 🦞 Lobster tail ever! Our server, Jordan, was knowledgeable and polite. BIG points for her remembering one of our food allergies and taking care of the whole order to accommodate without getting into every recipe 🙌
We asked a local person where they would go out to eat, He said he loves the Chive. What a Great suggestion!! Fabulous Food & Drinks 🍸 not to mention the Friendly Staff. Get there early they Do Not Take Reservations First Come First served Basis. Worth the wait. We luck up and got a spot at the Bar, which was like a Dinner and a show!! What Amazing Drinks They where putting out. Enjoy everything!!
I adore this place. It is a lounge so I would give it a little more time than a faster lunch or brunch place but the time invested in one hour pays off: the atmosphere is very Art Deco and the playlist is like the crooner 1920-1950 era which is my favorite. The She-Crab soup changed my life. The service is fun and helpful and so accommodating to my allergies which are abundant. I don’t think it’s possible to have bad food here. Literally I didn’t think soup could change lives but I would come back a million times just for this magnificent soup!
Stopped in for a couple cocktails and some appetizers. The drinks were incredible, not overly sweet and very well balanced. We ordered the Tuna ceviche and the clams. The ceviche was so fresh from the fruit and seaweed salad to the Tuna, and bursting with flavor. The clams were done in a simple white wine, butter and lemon sauce, but the taste was anything but simple. The sauce was the perfect balance of each ingredient making those some of the best clams Ive ever tasted. Would have loved to make it back there while we were in town to try more of the menu!
The food is decent, but nothing special and certainly not worth the price. The crab cake was full of shells, the calamari was chewy, and the Chilean sea bass was good but inoffensive and basic. The caesar salad, on the other hand, was delicious, as was the fried shrimp.
Really good and more importantly very fresh fish. Our tour guide recommended this place to us and I am very happy he did. We only had to wait 30 mins for a table inside. The staff were super nice and the overall ambiance was very relaxed. We had the clam appetizer, crab stuffed grouper, ahi tuna, and tuxedo bomb for dessert.
Amazing spot with excellent service! There was a wait to get in but it was totally worth it! We got the beef carpaccio and mixed grill starter. It was perfect! Also the she crab soup was superb! For dinner we got the flounder stuffed crab, the scallops, the salmon, and the filet mignon. Everything was perfectly prepared. I think my personal favorite was the crab stuffed flounder, and that wasn’t even my meal... lol.
Really nice dinner spot in Savannah. They do not take resevations, but being willing to sit at the bar allowed for us to be seated immediately. The bartenders were attentitive, as most people at the bar were dining. They assisted my wife on her drink order. Both of our dishes were very well seasoned and prepared.
We received terrible service at the bar. Our party arrived between 5:30 and 6:00 and the restaurant was not crowded. Our drinks went unfilled and due to the lack of service we wound up leaving before we ordered entrees after our appetizers and salad. We had to flag down the waitstaff if we wanted anything with our meal. Our meal and drinks were overpriced and underwhelming at best. It was very disappointing since we have had much better experiences at their other restaurants.
The story begins when the restaurant is very busy, they run my queue wrong which is easy to skip, since I dine-in as a single party. However, I was there all the time. Then, I know who come prior or who come later.I can’t deny that the foods and drinks in this place is quite excellent.Foods: I order “Chilean Sea Bass” for entree. It is pan-seared served over orzo pasta with red curry (think about that pasta and red curry are going together). The fish is not too raw or too cooked. It is so perfect.Drinks: I recommended signature cocktail rather seasonal cocktails, cheaper and taste better.Desserts: so so, they just decorated a dish to look fancy
Upscale/Chic decor, laid back/relaxing ambiance inside.....and then there is the amazing cocktails and food.Truly a gem of downtown Savannah and well worth a visit if you are in the area. We dined here on a Friday evening, it was busy but there were seats at the bar while we waited for our table to open. The bartenders are quick, friendly and put on quite a show as they display their mixology skills creating the drinks from the house specials cocktail menu. We were seated well within the projected thirty minute wait time.Once seated our friendly and accommodating server Suzanne took our starter orders of the Chive Mussels and the Lobster & Shrimp Spring Rolls that were both very good and generous in portion size as a sharable. For entrees we ordered the Lobster & Edamame Risotto and the Prawns Risotto, both were delicious and again more than generous in portion size. We shared the desert of the Chocolate Marquis (cake) that like the other dishes of our evening at Chive was over the top excellent in flavor and presentation.Service from Suzanne was outstanding and she even went so far as to write out some suggestions for local places to get breakfast or lunch the next day.The Chive Sea Bar and Lounge menu is large enough to justify additional visits when we have more time to spend in Savannah, it is that good. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.
We came here for drinks and appetizers. The place was packed and we sat at the bar. Service was great. We had some oysters and the tuna ceviche, which is not actually a ceviche “but more like a tartare”, as the bartender warned us. I just didn’t think the tuna dish was good, it had fruit in it(?), it was a mushy mess of too many ingredients.Maybe the rest of the food there is better? I felt the prices didn’t reflect the offering of drinks and food, both from our dishes and those of the people next to us.I want to reiterate that service was great.
Everything was excellent; the place looks beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is on point, great place for a first date. The only complaint is that the value for the portion of the food is not there. The portions are smaller for the prices; other than that I totally recommended 👌
I am absolutely in LOVE, with this restaurant. We showed up at 6:00 on a Saturday with the expectation of having to wait, and wait we did. They told us 2 hours(they dont take reservations) and they were right on about that wait estimate. The restaurant has a very cool vibe and I loved the atmosphere. After waiting for those 2 hours, I had ample time to look over the menu and I thought I knew what I wanted, however, after listening to the waitresses suggestions, my plans were completely changed. We ordered the clams, ahi tuna with spinach and ahi tuna with risotto. The clams and risotto were at the suggestion of the waitress. HOLY cow was it good. The clams came with a garlic bread that made the wait feel worth it. The ahi tuna was also fantastic. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The risotto was a definite substitution and must try. It was cheesy and creamy making it a great partner to the ahi. The portions were large and filling. My only regret was not saving room for dessert.Overall, Chive is a fantastic restaurant in the heart of Savannah, it is worth the wait!!
Stopped in with my wife for dinner, and we took a seat at the bar, sat next to a wonderful, warm guy and his sister who lit up the place! Food was decent, had fish, but not outstanding, and the drinks were solid and the bartenders were good, but pricey and not too full sized or filled glasses, like I like my martini. Anyway, a solid spot, great crowd, just a little short of tops.
The 3 star rating is based more on dinner service than food. We opted to eat at the bar, which we generally enjoy, but tonight, it was the demise of our evening with poor service from not ONE but TWO bartenders working, 5/16 (M). Overall, lack of attention to our needs for ANY food or beverage. To begin, we had to ask that the counter top area be wiped off. The chairs were not comfortable and scraped the floor loudly. We were not assisted w/ initial or additional food orders. Water glasses remained empty. We inquired to the bartender if the calamari was rings and tentacles and his reply was “yes”, a mix of both. The presentation was that of French fries - no thank you! The she crab soup was ok, certainly not the best. Empty dishes were not cleared. And, the check was not forthcoming. May not return, and certainly would not highly recommend.
Have been coming to chive for a while, and unfortunately this will be our last visit. We were Two couples having dinner, we split entrees, shared an app, had a few drinks, and were collectively charged almost $500. The bartender who made our initial round hassled us while we were having our appetizers to pay for drinks that we were still drinking. I later realized he was doing this because he had charged us premium cocktails when we simply wanted a basic cocktail. I called and spoke with their receptionist to voice my confusion on a $500 bill, she was very kind and set me up with a meeting with the manager today. I went in and they acted like I was in the wrong, two shared entrées and a couple of drinks plus an appetizer should never be $500. It was average service an average meal and they didn’t do anything to fix the situation. Not how you treat your locals. Do better
The food at Chive Sea Bar and Lounge was delicious. I got the crab cake that comes on top of the green tomato and it was so good, I had to order a second one. My wife got the Tuna Ceviche which she very much enjoyed. The service was also spectacular. When we revisit Savannah, we will definitely go back to this place.
Visited Chive last evening. Located at 4 W Broughton St, right at intersection of Bull St & Broughton St. Parking is typical, downtown SAV.Arrived about 6PM, no reservation. Hostess estimated 1/2 hr for a table but we could be seated immediately at the bar. Works for me.Sam the Bartender was our server. Super personable and a capable mixologist. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and service-oriented.Sam recommended the Chive Mussels. OMG, they were AWESOME! Maybe best mussels I ever had. A must try.We split a Caesar salad made w toasted walnuts and prosciutto. Nice touch but dressing was kinda blah and salad was underdressed. Have had better Caesar dressing out of a bottle.Entrees took almost an hour to come up (!). The prawns and risotto was delicious but the sauce was the weak link. Was described as a red curry sauce, didn’t add anything to the dish. Interestingly, there was a stripe of Siracha on the plate as garnish. The Siracha added much more to the prawns.Same issue with Ahi Tuna. Was cooked perfectly but the sauce (red curry & lemon caper) didn’t add anything. Sounds good but the sauce fell flat.Overall, was a pleasant experience. Maybe just a bit of an off night in the kitchen. Will visit again.
This place is run by the owners of Flock to the Wok, which explains the Asian fusion of the menu. The food is inventive and tasty. We started with the She crab soup which was rich, creamy and delicious. We had previously tried the same dish at Vics on the river and this beats that version by miles. We also tried the Japanese mushroom salad which was really tasty. My favorite was the chive mussels which was fresh, moist and delicious. The curry wasn’t overwhelming but blended well with the cream and white wine. Last of the appetizers was the lobster and shrimp rolls. They were tasty but my least favorite. For entrees I had the lobster risotto. The lobster was slightly over cooked and the risotto was okay. The star dish was the Chilean sea bass which was rich and full of flavor. The Ahi Tuna seared and medium rare was also very good. Lastly the Prawn risotto was good as well with the prawns cooked just right. The service was super friendly with the waiter providing good recommendations. I’d definitely come back here again.
Unless you want an already out of style chic atmosphere and have an overwhelming desire to pay 3-5 times the price of mall Chinese food for them throwing seafood in skip this one. The waiter repeatedly used the tried-and-true tactic of checking on us only when we were visibly chewing, the chicken fried with sweet chili is essentially over-sauced Tyson tenders thrown in an air fryer on high for too long and then drowned in enough sweet chili sauce that youll need a tin of Altoids and a glass of strong Bordeaux to rinse your mouth out after. The spring rolls were delicately crispy...on the outside, and overwhelmingly soggy inside. The shrimp and avocado salad is a bit of a bad joke, as about 6 sad shrimp were dwarfed by a scooped chunk of something green that more resembled guacamole to my eyes. Mediocre service is putting kindly, atrocious food Id be ashamed to serve in a mall let alone a high end eatery, and while this is just personal opinion, what half-wit came up with this fusion idea to begin with, of Asian meets Southeastern American? Perhaps its just not for me, but to me, this place is nothing but a tourist trap with too much opinion of itself. Dont plan to go back, wont go back, cant be persuaded to go back.
This place is a score! Red Snapper Risotto! Get it! Our server was the bomb, a cross between Scott Cahn and Jonah Hill in the looks department, with a great sense of humor and outgoing personality. He was an added bonus to the experience here as the food and drinks were top notch amazeballs. Definitely hit this place up!
Food was Great! Atmosphere is beautiful! Sitting is comfortable! Service was meh... yes the waiter is fairly knowledgeable and what he didnt know he would be prompt to get the information but he lacked the service part, he was more of an order taker than a server since he would do the bare minimum, We had a disposable cup(had 1/4 of a coffee left and finished 2 mins after sitting) that sat on the table from the time we sat down until we where done with desserts and was never taken away, I literraly finish my meal paid and threw it on the garbage can outside. Got the mussels as an app to share, we were only given 1 spoon 1 cocktail fork. We where never given another set , so, we used the silverware on table, and used the same set for all of our courses. the server would only check on us once we where done or almost done with the food on our plate, It didnt seem like a busy night, So, I dont understand why the server didnt atleast check on us when the food would come out. if it wasnt for service it would have being perfect.(it wasnt bad service just not good either.)
This place was amazing. The atmosphere that evening along with the bartending was enjoyable. We sat at the bar bc a table would take too long and we were hungry. The Ocean’s 5 entree was so good and different and flavorful. Who knew about Gang Phet Talay but i do now. The red curry sauce and the clam the mussel the shrimp the scallop and the crab! I want more but sadly my vakay is over. You have got to try this restaurant. You wont be disappointed
It’s extremely disappointing that I’m leaving this review as I use to love this place and have had nothing but the best experience until last night. We sat at the bar to be served by Will a bartender who repeatedly and loudly told his other bar backs that he was going to jump off the roof mid shift and clearly did not want to be there as he was chugging his Red Bull. He told us to “just chill” when we hadn’t even said anything - and waited 20 minutes for our drink order. He took one drink order and walked away when we were telling him the second. 15 minutes later, he comes back and we told him the second drink order as we assumed he didn’t hear us and he aggressively said, I know I heard you the first time. We apologized as he was clearly upset. I asked if we should go ahead and tell him our food order and he said YEP and proceeded to walk away. Another 15 minutes go by and someone else takes our order. It’s extremely disappointing to have this kind of service for $40 a plate. I understand if this might be due to short staff but we hadn’t gotten our drink order as other tables around us that were sat after and were finishing up their meal.
First off, love the food. Bartenders are great. Eat or ate here any time I’m working in town.Just called to get a receipt (3 times to no avail) and had my final call with the most rude and unprofessional shift supervisor I’ve had to deal with in a long time. Calania or something like that.Disappointing.
Great food and friendly professional service. Well prepared favorites as well as a few unique options and surprises. My girlfriend says everyone needs to know about the crab cake with the fried green tomato, but I’ll vouch for the lobster risotto and the specials we tried as well. Trendy upscale atmosphere, good food, and good service in a convenient downtown location. Definitely worth trying.
Delicious cocktails and well balanced fresh food - really great to eat something clean and vibrant among all the (delicious!) fried and heavy food on offer elsewhere locally.Maybe a little try hard with the modern decor, but is very down to earth and welcoming with attentive staff. They did move our courses on very quickly, but we didnt mind as were keen to explore other parts of Savannah, so probably not a venue for a long lingering evening...but the food is absolutely worth it!
Wow wow wow we stumbled upon this restaurant just passing through Savannah, GA & what a great place! The service was awesome, food GREAT & the ambiance of the entire place was super relaxing. Drinks never went empty (even the water glass 😎). Restaurant was super clean & in a hip part of Downtown Savannah. Definitely has the 3 majors locked down & we’ll definitely come here again because of that. Great service, great food & super clean are the 3 majors & they surely achieved all 3. Thanks for a great dinner guys, The Smith’s
Very good food, which was surprising since its apparently owned by people that have many restaurants in SAV. Unlike some other restaurant groups thatll remain nameless SURGE on HHI opps... 😳 who bring every restaurant they control DOWN... They dont lower themselves to counting on a never ending STREAM of TOURIST to drive their business model. 🙄I look forward to eating at all of their establishments, and these people are contributing to making SAV a true foodie destination. Well Done 👏 Food Excellent, Presentation Excellent, Service Excellent, Atmosphere Excellent. Maybe others will follow suit...While there, you MUST HAVE the Ceviche !Only thing ITS NOT Ceviche raw fish cooked by lime juice. Its more of an AMAZING tartare but w/o the raw egg.
One of the best places Ive ate in a long time. With the flashy decor and shiny everything I thought the food wouldnt be as good but I was wrong. We ordered the mussels and shiitake mushroom salad. Both were phenomenal! I ate the broth from the mussels with a soon after they were gone because it was that good.
We absolutely loved eating at Chive for my birthday. All the staff wore masks and were extremely attentive to our needs. No plate stayed on the table long and they kept our drinks topped off. The ombiance was AMAZING and the food was even better! Best She crab soup in this area in our opinion. Will def visit again. Next going to try the crab stuffed chicken wings. If you go would recommend trying the She crab soup, stuffed bass, and the prawn pasta. The wagu screwers were good too, but it you want to venture out try the other stuff. Great portion size and presentation. You deserve all 5 of these stars.
I love this place! Their Stuffed striped bass is to die for. If I lived nearer Id have it for lunch every week. Its just that good! Perfect pairing of thai spicy chuchi sauce, perfectly seasoned bass and huge lump crab. Their calamari is one of the best Ive ever had too. Price is so worth it - portions are really great for a small plate. I cant wait to go back!
We chose to dine at the place for our anniversary. Little did we know we were in for a surprise. As we put our names on the wait list we sat at the bar which is first come first serve. You can opt to have appetizers and or even your main entree. The service was so great that we chose to finish our meal at the bar. Yasser and another bartender were absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. The drinks as well. We loved it so much that we returned the next day for lunch.
The food was amazing! Between the appetizers and the main course to the dessert 🍨 we just chanced upon this by a random seafood search on Google maps and said why not try here. The atmosphere of this place is very relaxing. You can enjoy your meal and if you are a lover of classics you can watch silent films as you eat from the front entrance. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavors were just awe inspiring. Some meals I was not expecting the flavors to be so interesting as I called it. I was expecting the flounder to taste like well flounder but the mixture of seasonings that they put in there made my taste buds go WOW! I enjoyed a Salmon dish as well with a risotta substitute (for an extra upcharge of course) and they ask you how you want your salmon cooked. That was a first for me. I just described what I liked and I got exactly that! I am a major lover of salmon and I did not want that dish to end. I will definitely come back here for another beautiful evening! The staff was amazing as well and very detailed in their knowledge of food. For those who wonder I didnt use the bathroom at the establishment but my husband did and he said it was clean and well maintained and my husband is picky about public restrooms just as I am.
Try the tuna ceviche! Its 100% the reason I go back year after year!!Speaking of returning, I just revisited with my husband and shared this dish. We also had a cheese board and me had a blood orange martini. Everything was wonderful.Mario was our server, and he was the perfect combination of attentive without hovering.I would recommend this as a date night!
It’s been so long since I’ve been to Chives! But this is hands down one of my favorite restaurants to visit downtown Savannah! The atmosphere is insane, the customer service is remarkable and the food is delicious! As always enjoyed my time at Chives last night! Date night was most definitely a success!
Have great food! We went for lunch we had the shrimp and lobster roll appetizer with a pineapple mango dip very good. We had the red snapper risotto (only serve this dish at lunch) and my husband had the Grilled salmon salad, both were excellent with filled with flavor. Definitely be going back. The staff was very inviting and friendly. The atmosphere is very sleek and modern but you can still walk in off the street casually dressed (which we did) the hostess assured us we were fine and she was right. Never felt uncomfortable, others were also casual. Relaxing environment
Overall a good experience... And I say good verses great only bc the hostesses seemed a bit aloof when it comes to seating in order of arrival. Other than that my cocktail was nice, though I must admit Ive had a better version of the same cocktail from another of ele and the chef family of restaurant venues. Our server Emily was phenomenal! She was very well spoken and knowledgeable of the entire menu as well as made some awesome recommendations. I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed the Tuna Ceviche (tartar) and the Sweet Potato & Lobster soup was delicious compliment. For dinner I had the Flounder stuff Crab over the Spinach and Mushroom orzo.
They were absolutely awesome! Having never visited before, my wife and I walked in on a busy parade night and we were sat immediately. After being sat at a two top table, we realized it was a very busy place and our table was not quite what we were hoping for on a 15 year wedding anniversary dinner. We asked to be moved if a booth became available and our waitress Lauren said she would make it happen. Almost in perfect unison, right as we were finishing our appetizers a booth became available and they moved us immediately. We continued to enjoy the rest of our dinner at a private booth. The food was absolutely delicious and the customer service was top notch. Lauren even paired my dinner with an excellent wine recommendation. We live in Savannah and will definitely be back! Thank you for being so accommodating!
Long wait which was not unexpected for a Saturday night, but the food made it well worth it. We had the calamari, mussels and crabcake appetizers. All three were fantastic. The broth from the mussels was amazing and perfect for dipping the toast. The calamari was some of the best I have ever had - LOVED the sweet chili sauce that accompanied it. And the crabcake was out of this world good. Our entrees didnt disappoint either. We had a stuffed cobia, the stuffed chicken wings, and a chilean sea bass, all made to absolute perfection. The decor is well appointed and Chive has a nice vibe - great for date night or a night out with friends.
Where do i begin? Suzanne was the absolutely best. Her professionalism, menu recommendations and enthusiasm to help elevate my sons birthday was an added treat and for that we thank you!!!Overall it was an awesome experience, guest services was superior in addition to the perf f&b. 👏. Bravo, job well done 👍
Amazing food! Our Server Suzanne S. went above and beyond. Even made us up a list of the sister restaurants and her other favorites. We did 3 of them already and they sure did Not disappoint either. DELISH! I Got the whole fried flounder. He got the Lobster special. It really was devine. Cheers to the chef. The atmosphere very cheek..We got a two seater cubby area.. very romantic... yet, not too snobby either. We arrived in town from a camping roadtrip staring and ready for a great meal and were not dressed up this evening.. We felt comfortable to still enjoy ourselves without going to get too dressed up. But, it is more so a place you can take a girl on an impressive date and with dress and suit. Now, our Drinks! We are not big drinkers, but we did 2 of the special martinis (Strawberries with black pepper, who would think!). Wow! What a bartender. It was like a beautiful piece of artwork that was also delightful. I need the recipe. Pictures all here dont do it justice. We will be back! Thank You for the delightful evening.
Will make a custom VEGAN option for you! Not many vegan options in town, but so glad to have found this place. The service was superior, the staff was very friendly, and willing to work with your dietary needs. They made me an amazing vegetable dish with their homemade flour noodles. It was amazing! My boyfriend had the ocean five seafood dish and said it was phenomenal. On top of all that, they are dog friendly, and dog lovers. We were able to get a table outside. They even got the heat lamps working for us to stay warm during the chili January evenings (our dog was freezing)Such a great place, beautiful interior decor too. Highly recommend it to anyone!
Downtown destination with food and ambiance to fit any occasion!!! From date nite to drinks after work, the fare is extremely thoughtful with specials that will please the palate, while not making a heavy dent in the wallet. The she-crab soup is a must have, with sweet, succulent crab meat, and creamy sherry infused broth. The Japanese shitake salad is one of a kind with fresh greens and a hint of soy: my wife swears she can live off of. Don’t be discouraged by the small outward appearance, this place ROCKS. The decor transforms you back to a time forgotten, with Louis Armstrong and Elle Fitzgerald classics floating from the playlist. A definite must visit in the heart of Savannah, right in the middle of Broughton Street:)
PHENOMENAL experience from start to finish. There was not a single aspect of this restaurant I didn’t love.Atmosphere: amazing ambiance! The entire place has an elegant, cozy, intimate vibe, with just a taste of hipster chic. The decorations are on point in every aspect creating a lovely space with an amazing attention to detail. They have cozy booth alcoves set up with curtains that add an intimacy to every table, and there is a cute elegance to every place setting. This is the sort of restaurant perfect for a romantic evening where you would be comfortable lounging for hours. The cool blues are relaxing and soothing. I was happy from the minute I walked in the door.Food: EXQUISITE! High quality food with so many unique flavors. Every bite was a decadent experience. We had the soft shell crab appetizer special, the salmon with the crab cake side, and the she crab soup. I had the she crab soup, and as one of my favorite dishes I was not disappointed. It was so creamy, rich, flavorful, and packed with crab. It was tempting to lick the bowl as to not miss a single drop.Staff: the staff were one of the best parts of the experience. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and well versed on the menu and drink selections. The best part though? The entire atmosphere of the staff in general. I have worked in the restaurant industry before and I simply adored how supportive the staff was of each other. Each one stepping up to help the others from the servers to the hostesses to the bartenders, and I can only assume it extended to the kitchens as well. It made for a smooth, well run restaurant that was pleasant to be around. I’ve got to say, I also loved their style. Adorable across the board.Restrooms: finally, I’ve got to add something about the restrooms because they made me smile. They are large, very clean, and so elegant! I probably could have stayed there all night. I felt a little bit like a princess.LOVED it. I almost wish I lived in Savannah just so I could go back over and over again.
06Mar20 - Our Anniversary Date Night Dinner in Savannah, GA!!!OMG .... this hidden gem.was AAAMMMAAAZEBALLS!!!! And the service---fantisimo!!!! Thank you to our main waiter Juan and all of the staff (including the kitchen). Because of the comedy show we just saw, we got there with only 15 mins to closing (everything in Savannah seems to close by 10 or 11p btw lol). But unlike some other places I wont name (begins with the letter T), they didnt discourage us from coming in, they didnt even bring it up...they sat us down and even the next three couples who came in after us. They didnt kniw it was our anniversary ... they treated us all with class. They didnt rush our orders. The food came out amazingly. The drinks, refreshing (and you can take out what you dont finish). Everything was so well done...and they ALL did it everything with a smile...and it was my pleasure to serve you comments. AMAZING!!!!! Oh and get the Tuna Ceviche appetizer 😎
We saved the best for last. Chives is my top pick for restaurants encountered during my time in Savannah. Our waiter, Jared, was a delight and made conversating a pleasant experience. Chives mussels with curry are a must-have, and I recommend ordering extra bread to dip into this bowl of goodness. We both ordered a lunch special of red snapper with risotto. When my dish arrived, I was immediately taken aback by how beautifully plated it was. Cooked to perfection, every bite was otherworldly and melted in the mouth. This exquisite dish was the last I had in Savannah before returning to my home in North Carolina. This restaurant is one for the books, and I recommend it to any and all who visit Savannah, GA. I greatly look forward to returning to Chives for another plate of heaven.
Very cool 1920s feel. Great for a cozy dinner - curtains separate the booths to make it feel private. Food was outstanding. We had the ping scallops, she crab soup, cobia and crab cake (daily special) and the dungeness crab. All of it was great, though you wont get a lot of crab taste from the dungeness crab due to the tower presentation and other ingredients, but still very good.
Fantastic chic restaurant. Sat at the bar and had amazing service. All the bar staff was excellent, polite, and attentive. I went on recommendations from the bar tender. Started with the steak tartare and had the Chilean sea bass for dinner. Both were fantastic. The fish was cooked perfect!! Best sea bass I have ever had. I highly recommend this gem in Savannah!
Great place to dine in when in Savannah! Beautiful restaurant, great staff and even better food! Coming from Seattle and having seafood here I was skeptical about eating their seafood, but we came for my sisters 50th bday and they did not disappoint! We had some oysters for appetizers and they were fantastic! I consider myself a oyster fanatic and always have oysters on the half shell. These ones did not disappoint! They were imported from Canada but they were fresh perfect and briny. Our dinner was awesome! We had the surf and turf, filet mignon and half lobster, 16 oz ribeye, stuffed red snapper with Dungeness crab, and awesome deserts! I definitely want to come back with my wife when we’re in town! Thanks you for the great service and fantastic food!
Excellent food and nice service. Maggie the waitress really knows the wines of la carte. Lobster as ping was literally outstanding (no need for sauce, just roasted and so tasty) with the Essay chenin blanc (white wine). Was first not so fond of the inside lights, very dull. But really a place to go.
Excellent adult atmosphere. Deliciously prepared meals. Highly recommend the dungenous crab and shrimp on risotto. The bees knees and mint julep are amazing. I really enjoyed the julep. Just the way it should be. Satisfying with a touch of mint at the finish. The shrimp on risotto was also a top shelf mealYou really should make this a stop on your trip
So my girlfriend and I stopped by this place during our trip to Savannah, GA. We came around lunch time and it was a little slow, so we got seated immediately. The atmosphere was really something. It was like we were in a Great Gatsby scene, but with a lot of blue. I dont know. Check the pictures. It was nice. We were still stuffed from a surprisingly massive breakfast, so we decided to just get two entrees for the two of us.I ordered the Oceans 5 (Gang Phet Talay, noodles, clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, crab). The broth was very, very good. One of the best broths Ive ever had in a seafood soup like this. It was creamy and lovely. The seafood was all delicious within. However, the pieces of seafood towards the end of the dish were a tad bit overcooked because they had been sitting in the hot broth for so long. The only part I didnt really like about the dish was the noodles. They were big, thick noodles that were difficult to eat alone with a fork, much less with any bites of seafood. My girlfriend got some lunch special thats not on an online menu currently. She got a pan-seared halibut on top of some edamame risotto. It was a five star dish. It was very lovely. The fish was cooked perfectly, and I love halibut, and the risotto was super unique. I had never had edamame risotto before, and I was a little scared, but it ended up being amazing. Our server was super nice. She even offered to take a picture of us for our memories of the trip. The food was great. The atmosphere was almost unparalleled. The value was a little bit of a hindrance. I just wish those noodles had been a better type for the dish. Overall, a very good choice for a bite to eat in Savannah, GA.
Had an amazing evening at Chives Sea Bar & Lounge. Morgan at the bar was absolutely spot on with her recommendations. We had the best She Crab Soup we gave ever had. Then Clams Casinos & Seared Scallops with Vegetables. Well worth the trip to this great spot near Johnson Square. If you visit Savannah dont miss this restaurant.
The food was good. We got the Crab Cake on top of friend green tomato and the Seabass over risotto. both were prepared well and tasty. They have a couple of outside tables that are first come first serve and the inside can get on a long wait (with no option for call ahead or reservation). Wait staff was attentive and polite.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Savannah. There is something on the menu for everyone. We had the muscles as an appetiser.. hands down best Ive ever eaten! The seared scallops were delicious, and my main course (cant remember the name of the fish, sorry!) was cooked to perfection! We actually made our reservation for dinner here after we stopped in for a drink at lunch earlier that day. The host booked us a table no problem for the time we wanted, and even reserved the best spot in the restaurant for us; a cosy private booth by the window! The cocktails are creative, the food is fresh and full of flavour and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about each and every dish. Wonderful place! Will definitely be stopping in again next time were in Savannah.
Simply amazing. We have to stop here every time we head to florida. Flounder stuffed with crab was probably the best meals I ever had. Im from NY and live in the dmv. I have high standards on high end meals. 5 star all the way and they accommodated my 2 young sons. 5 stars!
I have lived down here, in Savannah, since 2015 and have been doing myself a disservice by not eating at Chive. The staff is friendly, full of smiles and great attitudes. Hanna, the bartender, provided excellent service and made two awesome cocktails!! The mussles where amazing, highly recommended, and the stuffed striped bass is to die for!!!
Saw this place while walking through town and decided to give it a try just based what we saw through the window. The bar is well done and very upscale. The bartender Sam immediately engaged us with friendly banter which made us feel very welcomed. My wife had a signature cocktail which was excellent. We decided we would try to get in for dinner the following night. When we arrived Sam instantly recognized us and welcome us in and introduced us to our bartender Joe who was just a fun and welcoming. The atmosphere of this place if wonderful and the bartenders made the whole experience fun and inviting. Highly recommended this place for dinner or just for drinks.
I can honestly say this is the best food I have ever had in my life! The chive mussels were delicious, and my husband and I really enjoyed our food. We brought our baby which is extremely nerve racking, but we were so happy they had a table outside. Usually for us that means we get subpar service, however the waitstaff treated us amazing. We will be back every time !!
My friend and I stopped here while in Savannah for the night because it was recommended by the front desk where were staying. It did not disappoint! What a great place. Friendly and fast service, warm atmosphere, and excellent food. If youre not sure where to go but want a sure thing, go here.We had the cutting board cheese plate, shrimp cocktail, miso duck, and creme brulee cheesecake w/a side of strawberries and honey. It was awesome! The cheese plate included some honey and strawberries - great combo, which is why we did ordered an additional side with dessert.Shrimp cocktail was tasty.Duck can be tricky but Chive has it down. Its most and flavorful - a very good combination of flavors. If you want a great place, great service, and great food and drinks, stop by Chive. Wont disappoint - please note this may not be great for vegans or people who dont like seafood as its a sea bar.... But it does have a few non sea food options.Bon appetit!
Amazing seafood. Excellent wine. Beautiful ambiance, but not too snooty. Emily was a very knowledgeable and helpful server without the usual overbearing, know-it-all pompous attitude, and pestering that usually comes with servers that know the menu as well as she does. Oh, and their creme brulee cheesecake was the best dessert Ive had in a long time. True 5 star experience.
I can’t say enough positive things about this restaurant! I dined by myself at the bar and my experience was wonderful. The bartender, Jonathan, was very helpful with recommending drinks and food. He highly recommended the mussels and I’m very glad I took his advice. Service and food quality both excellent.
Ambiance and service was outstanding. Food was timely and delicious, cocktails were amazing. We had a bit of a wait so we sat at the bar until our table was ready. The host was very pleasant and welcoming. The bar staff was great, as was the manager (who happened to be assisting at the bar). We had a bit of an issue with our server once seated, it was quickly resolved by management. Would absolutely recommend and will be returning whenever in Savannah.
We came in town for an event and needed to place a to go order. Upon arrival there was a little bit of confusion with the hostess on what we were supposed to do to place our order. After a few moments, it was figured out and we were able to order. We weren’t told a wait time, nor were we instructed on how to wait. The dining room was open, so we sat at the bar after standing near the door. We quickly learned we were in the way standing at the door. While at the bar, we were not offered water a drink, nothing. He did ask if we had been helped, we stated that we made a to go order. He said ok and walked away.We got the Chilean sea bass and cheesy orzo. With the shrimp Caesar salad! The Caesar dressing was really good! They even gave us a little oil so we mixed them. I’ve never done that before but, I’m glad we did.I wasn’t a fan of the sauce offered for the sea bass. It wasn’t nasty it just didn’t match the taste of the fish and the cheesy orzo. I don’t normally eat mushrooms, but this orzo was so good, i didn’t bother to pick them out!At first i thought the sea bass could have been a little bigger, but i actually had enough left over to be lunch! It just looked small in the box. It was really really good! Actually is was just perfect. Each cut just seemed like it was in a food commercial or something!Next time I’m in Savannah I’ll be back! Maybe the servers will be friend than the bartender.
Great place for a intimate lunch or dinner. I gave it 5 stars because of the food in taste and presentation. Majority of the food comes with a paired wine suggestion. I recommend that you reserve a booth for better and more intimate seating. It has big restaurant taste with a small town gem feel. I will definitely go back again but will reserve next time.

2022-05-31Excellent food even late in the day. Not the hugest fan of the sauce on the lobster tail but the other stuff is really excellent. Started with the charcuterie board which was delicious and then went on to the bass. The Chilean sea bass is excellent - apparently the most popular menu item. The scallops were great too.The service was top notch.. wonderful choice in Savannah.

2022-04-27Great place for a great meal. Setting, staff and service were outstanding. Nice background music. The place got very busy at 6:00pm with people waiting outside. I had a great Stripped bass and my wife and my sister share 3 appetizers….shrimp, spring vegetable rolls and a cheese “cutting board”. With beer and wine all were full and satisfied. Parking could be challenging with construction near by, but the short walk to street parking is very nice.

2022-01-16Long wait of 1 hour 45 minutes but easy to kill time since it is next to river street. She crab soup is good and some credits to the bread, rich flavour in curry. Good prawn risotto since the prawns are VERY fresh, but for those don’t like cheese don’t try it since the rice is quite creamy. Steamed clams are slight light in flavour but again quite fresh. The best is the Japanese mushroom salad, great taste and also refreshing. Recommended for date nights.

2022-04-13Overall a great experience. Wonderful staff and a cool, comfortable environment to enjoy a nice meal in. Not super dressy, but other guest’s attires ranged from shorts and a nicer shirt to suit jackets and somewhat fancy dress for the ladies. Our meals were well done with nice presentation. I would give our meals and drinks both an 8/10 for the price points.Would certainly go back and try some other dishes next time.

2022-05-03The restaurant is located on a cute street, there was some construction going on but I’m glad we went in. I’m very picky and have to have no gluten and dairy options, and it was plenty . Beautiful interior and food was great. This salmon was probably the best I’ve ever had, delicious, juicy, salad was fresh , organic. My husband had a chicken and he said it was delicious as well.I’m really picky if it comes to food but this restaurant is really amazing.fair prices ,great stuff ! Must if you’re in Savannah !highly recommend .

2022-04-26One of my favorite places for an intimate, relaxing experience with a nice atmosphere and setting. Our server, Donovan, was awesome! He was very knowledgeable of the drinks and food. I highly recommend starting with the Grilled Octopus Ping. It will blow your mind!

2022-03-08Yum! We enjoyed the Asian, southern seafood twist. Highlights include the red curry sauce (which I got a side of just for dipping bread) and the inventive cocktails. Scallops were excellent and menu is set up in a way to ensure people can pick the entree and side which they want. Service was attentive, decor was swanky, and all around vibe was good. Would definitely go back

2021-11-16Delightfully surprised with Chive Sea Bar and Lounge. This place had the best service of all the restaurants we visited while in Savannah. The hostess and waiter were attentive, friendly, and prompt. The decor of Chive is really the standout - an Art Deco vibe meets a coastal paradise. The food and drinks were all very good - while nothing was mindblowing, the prices were just right. I’d happily return to Chive.

2022-05-08Sat outside for dinner. Rained for a minute or two but was not a problem. Service was timely. Waiter knew the menu very well and offered good advice. One of the better steaks Ive had in a while. Definitely on the higher price end but worth it.

2022-06-10Excellent food and drinks. We had a couple of appetizers and 1 main course, the She crab soup, stuffed chicken wing with dungeness crab, and the crab cake. The carrot cucumber dish was incredible I wish I had that recipe
