One of the most elite coffee spots in the city, this chic and elegant shop has an undeniable uniqueness to it. With a neat store selling ATL designed swag, near-perfect natural lighting, and an asymmetric layout, the space is memorable (there’s also outdoor seating). After many trips I can say easily that the coffee is superb - and while not huge, the pastry selection is surprisingly diverse and always tasty. With excellence comes cost, and CYTC is no exception - $6 for a small iced mocha w/soy. So be prepared for that. Parking is also limited. Ultimately, the ambiance (great focused study vibes) mixed with the product make it worth the money for me.
Chrome Yellow Trading was my base for a couple of days while attending a conference. Lucky to have rented an Airbnb across the street. The staff was terrific and coffee/pastries great. It can get very crowded at times, and that is awesome. I like meeting local people that love good service and coffee.
Excellent coffee shop. This will be my new go-to place. Their chai latte was perfect, there was plenty of comfortable seating, and we had great natural lighting to read. On top of that, the parking was easy. If youre looking for a good coffee shop without the overly hipster attitude, go here.
My family and I were visiting from out of town. I came to Chrome Yellow for some coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the interior - lots of natural light, great seating that’s got plenty of space between you and your neighbor. Sadly they were out of their nitro brew but the cold brew was super good. The employees were friendly and helpful. One even went out of her way while I tried to shove my baby’s stroller out of the way and held the door open for me. Much appreciated!
Surprisingly good batch coffee. Plenty of seats and tables - including outdoors - in a minimalist space. Also shop selling notebooks, coffee related magazines, candles and more. Will definitely be heading back when I’m in Atlanta again. Also close to great restaurants and bars if you want to transition later in the day.
Great coffee shop! Limited parking up front (4 spaces), but you can park on the street. Amazing space, lots of seating options. Outlets every where. Strong, easily accessible wifi. Delicious coffee and pastries. A few panini options for breakfast and lunch pre-made). Non-alcoholic cold beverages and a few canned beers. The staff is friendly and helpful. The music is fairly loud, so not ideal for conference calls or serious meetings, but the perfect place to work and chill.
I visited some coffee shops in Atlanta but this one is where I want to go back! The smell, the trendy-industrial ambience, the layout itself. The black, the concept...The first thing I look at when I go somewhere is the design, and this place got all my attention. The jackets, the hangers, the racks, the old fashioned motorcycle... everything! And the most important: the coffee and bakery were something to remember! It made me recall my years at architecture school.. the vibes, the energy! This coffee shop is the best!! And staff is friendly and with a positive attitude.
Gorgeous interior, d e l i c i o u s coffee. I got the chicken sausage panini and the seasonal maple oat latte and was delighted with both. If I lived in Atlanta, I may never leave this place. Super cool merch as well. I had to physically stop myself from buying a banner, mug, tee, and poster.
Worlds best coffee. One of my favorite haunts in the ATL. Such great atmosphere and incredible music. Baristas are friendly and drinks are reasonable. Can be hard to find seating but the vibe is so good it’s hard to keep folks away and such. 10/10. I’ll be here most weekends.
Amazing community and staff! the environment is lovely, so clean and beautiful. reminds me of LA. it lifts your mood and I think it improves my work when I do it here. everyone here is friendly but you can get a lot of good work done at the same time. also the coffee is the best!! great menu!!! there are also sandwiches and treats if you get hungry.
Top three coffee shops ever for both me and my coffee addicted girlfriend! Their coffee was amazing! The space was very cool as well. Can’t wait for shops like this to be back in full swing where we can hang out, congregate or work. Service was great and the local artwork for sale gave a very nice homey feel.
Really chic and modern vibe but with rustic industrial decor. Despite being completely full, it had a relaxing and chill atmosphere. Drip coffee was enjoyable, and they have some interested goods to browse. Baked goods seemed a tad pricey, but I didn’t try them so perhaps they’re worth it.
Seriously one of the best coffee shops I’ve been to. The staff were kind and conversational. They helped us pick out a blend of coffee beans (they carry methodical coffee and stumptown coffee 🙌). The vibe is clean, modern, spacious, and inviting. 10/10 would be here every day if i lived in Atlanta. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Great spot with good vibes and quality coffee. Usually plenty of space, WiFi, and a great location just off Edgewood in Sweet Auburn. I come here fairly often to read and write, and have always been able to plug my computer in, focus, and relax. Arguably the best coffee shop in the neighborhood along with Condesa.
Saturday morning of the Olympic marathon trials was cold AF. Waltzed into this place and ordered the Vanilla Bourbon Latte. It warmed my heart and soul, in addition to my chilled bones. The aesthetic was hella cool, and I would spend a lot of time and money here if I lived in ATL.
The coffee here was amazing however, the lack of accessibility unfortunately tainted my experience. There is no handicapped parking. Also, it was extremely difficult for me to access the outdoor seating in my wheelchair. The entry for outdoor seating is blocked by bike parking. The other side is blocked by heavy outdoor planters. Thankfully a customer that saw me struggling was able to move the planters out of the way so I could access the tables. Its clear that accessibility was not a priority when creating the cafe. Id look forward to coming back if my experience was better.
I would give this place a 5 star for a single employee, alone. But thankfully the coffee is great as well. Im not even sure of the baristas name, but he was extremely kind and thoughtful giving recommendations. The only downside to this shop is the parking. (good luck)
I hadnt been to Chrome Yellow in years and it has gotten better! I used to live behind the coffee shop in a condo community so I would drop by for an easy morn ing coffee. At that time the menu was limited adn they had clothing and accessories that occupied most of the interior space. I revisited just a week ago and found that the menu has gotten longer and more of the space is dedicated to seating with only a small section for shopping. Would recommend though it seems to get busy so you may not find a seat!
Fabulous coffee, great space, a couple of tables outside to sit. I thoroughly enjoyed my cappuccino both days. They have pastries too from other bakeries; the danish was decent but I did not like the empanada at all... but if its a coffee youre after this is the place
Consistently the most enjoyable pulls of espresso I have found in the city. Everything is always dialed in properly for an intense aroma, full body, and long finish. Other coffee shops in the area could learn a thing or to from the pros behind the counter here. Also, the latte art is pretty much flawless if thats something that is important to you!
The interior gives me this plant lovers, natural light loving vibe. Hipster-ish? Its nice. Its a place Id go to read a book, have an extended brunch, listen to a podcast maybe? Its just relaxing atmosphere.Vibe rating: 5Coffee is up there! Its definitely in my top 3 with East Pole and Prevail. Ive never actually bought whole beans from them, but that should change soon.Coffee rating: 5Their merch is also solid which many arent Chrome Yellow Co specific. Just all around solid place and my favorite place in terms of looks.
This is a really cute coffee shop for the neighborhood. The ladies that work there are really friendly. You can quickly grab a coffee. The parking is extremely limited. There is maybe four spots. If you are walking in the neighborhood its the perfect stop. There are two picnic tables out front period if you need to sit for a while without worrying about catching coronavirus they are great for that. There is also some street parking.
Great space with skilled, friendly baristas. There are a couple vegan / gluten free treats in the case to choose from and they offer three types of plant milk for your coffee drinks. The espresso is smooth & I am always a fan of double shots as a standard! I had a fantastic cappuccino. Ill definitely return to do some work here in the future... The environment is chill and they play great music as well. Definitely recommend. 👍🏽✨
This cute and fun coffee shop is a must visit! They have a great selection of quality coffee and other drinks. I have to note that this coffee shop is pretty spacious for an Atlanta coffee shop. No problem finding a seating spot, whether you want a to-go cup of Joe, or study in their comfy seats while charging your laptop at one of their outlets, this is the place to be. Great atmosphere, nice people, and quality service!
I wasnt able to stay for long, but I loved my short visit at Chrome Yellow early this winter. The shop was just about to close for the night, but the fellow behind the coffee bar made sure to spend time on us. He told us about the coffees the shop offered, what was still available (because it was late in the evening), and which coffee might be a good fit for what we were looking for. (This is what salespeople are *supposed* to be like! Good listeners, educational, and out for your best option.) The guy sold us two cartons of cold brew to take home, and we loved what we tasted! My husband and I had never had cold brew before, and Ive been meaning to come back for more!We moseyed around the shop a little, too, before leaving. It was all too pricey for me right now, but Id be interested in hearing about how the quality and sturdiness matches up to the price tag. Im reaching the point in my life where Id rather pay more for something thats going to last, and Im curious to hear more about whether the clothing sold at Chrome Yellow fits the bill. I cant comment on that for now, though.Again, GREAT service, excellent coffee, and Im looking forward to when I can make it out to the area again for some more cold brew! I have 0 complaints whatsoever from my short stop at Chrome Yellow.
Absolutely love their drip coffee and especially their own partner roast point counter point. The vibe in here is so calming and they have a great retail selection for gifts! Every time I come here, the staff remember me by name and ask about life. Its exactly what you want from your local coffee shop!
Ive tried amidst every coffee shop in the ATL & this is consistently one I go back to. Even though I dont live in the area any longer.Minimal, hipster coffee shop atmosphere. Outdoor seating available. Not the cheapest option but amazing coffee. (also wont break the bank)Parking is scarce and a bit tight.Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Really great coffee shop, reminiscent of something you would find in Portland or Brooklyn. They have an eclectic menu and serve the coffee correctly measuring every pull from the grind and artwork on every cup. They have seats outside for chilling and a great space for studying. Also a super cool little clothing/notebooks store inside. One of Atlantas best new coffee shops :)
Chrome Yellow reminds me of a hipster coffee shop you would find in Los Angeles, but instead its in Atlanta. With customized clothing and stickers you can buy this coffee shop is extremely aesthetic, has oat milk on the menu, and plenty of study space.I ordered the maple oat milk cold brew and it was absolutely delicious! Although not a fan of the $6-$7 price range, if Im here to study I would definitely do it in a heart beat. Parking in their lot might be difficult depending on how busy it is, but there is street parking! I would advise coming here on a weekday, since Im sure weekends get busy, or order a drink to-go! I wish I got the chance to try one of their vegan pastries but I was too full to begin with.
Such a nice, cozy and warm environment for a cup of coffee, a cold beverage, yes, they serve beer, or a sparkling water. The menu included sandwiches and they have a nice gift area with t-shirts and journals, other things too I just cant think of what they were. The rest rooms were clean. It was nice a quiet there even though it was well attended. I would certainly go there again!
My absolute favorite location in the city. The location is super welcoming and has the most thoughtful and hardworking staff. The space is an amazing place to get work done, hang out with friends, or take an Instagram shot with all the amazing lighting. Also the food is the best food at a coffee shop I’ve had. Gotta get the quiche and the London Fog
CYTC opened when I had already moved away from Atlanta, so I started dropping by for coffee back in 2015. They started roasting their own beans after operations began, but continued to sell other roasters’ beans. They rep the Atlanta and southeast region so effortlessly while also displaying beans from much farther away (Brandywine from DE). Prices are competitive, pastries are delicious, baristas are always friendly, pourovers be poppin.
I like this place. Its one of those coffee places where the baristas actually have a personality, which is becoming a rarity in Atlanta. Its a great space. Its usually full, so maybe they should build an additional bar in the back. I usually find a spot though. Its probably my favorite coffee shop right now.
A very nice spot. Only problem is the very little parking that they have up front. This place is absolutely great for studying. Music is playing quietly in the background. There is a little room in the back side that looked very cosg and lovely. It almost makes me want to go back to school just so I can go here and study! I will for sure go back and read a book here one day. Oh, and the coffee was also great ;). They were unfortunately out of pastries though.
Fantastic location right on Edgewood Ave with a friendly staff, great baked goods, and lattes. Coffee isnt as good as Cafe and Velo and its a little pricey but this has a much more upbeat lounge and seating available than Condesa. I see lots of people on laptops constantly getting really great art and work done and while its hipster vibe is decidedly not pretentious or glib. Great way to start the day.
Large space with an abundance of natural lighting in edgewood. Great vibe, great coffee. I would recommend trying the vanilla bourbon latte. They also have a blend which is a unique collaboration with methodical coffee in Greenville. Food was also decent if you need a snack. Small parking lot and plenty of street parking outside. Definitely check it out!
A group of Japanese exchange students and I came for coffee after our field trip to MLK Center. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Our orders came up quick and each beautifully prepared. I know a large group can be overwhelming (especially if their second language is English), but we felt very welcome. The coffee and pastries were excellent! I appreciated the gluten free option since I have celiac. The oatmeal pie was delish! Highly recommend!
Beautiful shop featuring my favorite roaster, Stumptown coffee. Ive been following Chrome Yellow Trading Co for over a year around town, and Im so happy to see theyve found a permanent home. White walls, subtle wood accents, and a beautiful coffee bar (topped off with a cold brew tap setup), and plenty of seating makes this shop the perfect place to enjoy a coffee, do some work, or gather with your amigos. Highly recommend!
Im a Cincinnatian who visited Atlanta on vacation and I came back to Cincy telling everyone whod listen that they must visit this place if they ever visit Atlanta.I loved the vibe, the friendly baristas, and the banging coffee. I had some of the best lattes Ive ever tried here (the bourbon vanilla was awesome!) and there was a good selection of bagged coffee to choose from. Id love to have the chance to come back and spend time sipping on a pour over whenever we visit Atlanta again. For now, Ill go set up a pour over of the bagged coffee I brought home and shed a tear when its all gone.Oh, side note, really cool neighborhood around the shop as well. We loved the artwork and would love to come back and explore!
Stopped in for a quick coffee and everything went well. Very friendly staff, quick order and this coffee is one of the best I have ever had! Very cool decor and atmosphere if you are looking to hang around for a while or do some work on the computer. Highly recommend the coffee at this location!
A super sleek coffee and retail shop that manages to feel cozy at the same time. The coffee tastes great and the local bands good compliment it well. They also have a great selection of candles, mens accessories and clothing that are modern yet comfortable. One of my favorite places in old forth ward.
I frequent Chrome Yellow for their well-curated Coffee beans they offer ( at a premium but always solid beans), talented and friendly staff and consistently delicious coffee and espresso. Youll find a lot of freelance folks working there during the week - go early if youd like a spot. One of the best coffee shops in Atlanta in an awesome location.
I had high hopes for this coffee shop but was not the biggest fan. The guy who I ordered with was very nice but many of the other staff seemed to just be unhappy walking around, taking people their food or coffee.I sat in the little gift shop area which was fine but it did get a little loud at one point with a lot of people talking around the bar. Not a huge deal but just FYI, it was a louder environment than most coffee shops ive visited recently. And that may not be the usual.I ordered a pour over coffee which was good. I also ordered a toasted peanut butter and strawberry sandwich (?) which was kind of disappointing but you live and you learn. Also, im pretty sure this is an alternative universe composed of only hipsters. Google Hipster, go to images and this is what youll see in this coffee shop. Ive never seen so many people with converse, plaid or flannel shirts and backwards ball caps. Not a bad thing... was just kind of trippy haha.
One of my favorite coffee shops in Atlanta. They offer a variety of quality coffee, from places that I would normally have to order online to try e.g. Stummptown, Methodical from SC, etc. They also have neat seasonal drinks, fun pastries, and beer. Can definitely feel like it has a bit of a pretentious vibe, especially if its something youre not used to; Ive never had a negative experience nor do I see myself ever, I think it just comes along with the shops style. Employees are all very laid back and kind from what Ive experienced.I only give 4 stars because at one point they swapped additional seating for more retail space to sell the dry goods that they offer. I personally feel its a waste, only because the times that Ive been, even on a weekday morning when youd expect it to be its slowest, its pretty much packed with people working off their laptops and sitting awkwardly at every-other seat so youd be forced to share a tiny table with someone or cozy up next to someone at a bar seat. There have been a few times where Ive come with the intention to sit down and get work done but left due to this phenomenon of people using the space as their office.
I liked it, but so does everyone else! It was really packed when I went, so there wasnt anywhere to sit, if I had wanted to sit alone. Thats why I only gave 3 stars. But hey, its a good thing that its crowded! I wish there were more seating options. Service was good. I love the vibe here. Its definitely a cool place.
Best specialty coffee in Atlanta, without a doubt. Huckleberry and Methodical available. Cool stripped down place with ample seating and greenery. I asked many people where to go for specialty, no one told me chrome yellow. My friends failed me, I figured it out tho, thanks google for being a real friend.
Chrome Yellow has such a chill and calming vibe. Its in my top 5 favorite ATL coffee shops, and I mostly meet my clients here. Theyve recently implemented a 3-hour-wifi rule, and honestly? Good for them. The place was SWARMED with people who were sitting all day and it was so packed - now its much calmer, and I think 3 hours of wifi for a simple coffee is more than fair. They dont play the music too loud, they have interesting drinks, great location, and the space is beautifully designed.
One of my favorite coffee shops out of all of the U.S.! I travel a lot and love to try new cafes everywhere I go but no one ever really compares to Chrome Yellow. Whenever I come back home to Atlanta, I always have to stop by. Their espresso is just absolutely amazing; they use Stumptown Coffee. And it’s all at an affordable price (thank God since I live just down the block....) My usual go-tos are the cappuccinos and nitro cold brew. Their pastries are locally sourced and absolutely delicious! I usually get the chocolate or almond croissants. SO GOOD. Kaitlee and Khalid are my favorite baristas ♥️🤘🏽☕️
Time & Date of visit]: Weekend afternoon[Party Size]: 1[Location/Ambiance]:Parking - The adjacent street feels a lot narrow, as parallel parking I hit the left curb when turning the wheel hard right to reverse. Try to just aim for a bigger opening if you have a bigger car.Inside - It can get stuffy and pretty loud with the number of people inside. Not a quiet cafe if thats what you are looking for. This place is more for socializing.Outside - Shared community picnic tables in the little patio section. But- a lot more quiet if you need to make a phone call or be away from the noisy inside.[Service]:Fast type - pay and pick up at the counter. The baristas are pretty nice all around. Though I didnt ask for a crazy complex order.[Food Highlights]:Chai latte - pretty tasty but I would still ad more cinnamon if I found the shaker.Old Fashion donuts - This is a twist- new style donuts on old fashion. These are different than the usual yeast kind, more dense but not like cake donuts. Good for dipping into coffee to sop up for a bite. Not sure if I liked the berry more of the smores. But the lemon glazed was also good. Just depends how much of a sweet tooth you have.{Summary}:Great hangout cafe. Good drinks and desserts. Also, Eat Me, Speak me popup food items are available for a limited time if you are hungry.
This coffee shop is just what I was looking for! The atmosphere was so nice and the smell of coffee was so good. I came for the Nitro Cold Brew and all I can say it is some good stuff! Will be going back when in the area to have some more. Also they have Stumptown Coffee! Its some good stuff!
As a coffee shop this place is quite good. The coffee is great and appears to be quite trendy. There is very little parking however. As a clothing store this place is obscenely overpriced. $175 for a short sleeve button down shirt and $230 for jeans. Thats just not something I can recommend.
Everything is very aesthetic and branded well. Selection of side items is limited but matching the vibe so clearly looks like somebody spent time finding the right chocolate and stuff for this place. I found my latte a tad bit colder than I would have liked. RealiInf that it shouldnt be served burned ... But I finished it in 10 seconds 2 gulps... Other than that I personally like some couches at a coffee shop do you are invited to longer some. These school chairs, although designed, do not promote relaxing in my view... Redhead Barista on 01/29 at 4:30 was affable and welcoming.
Chrome Yellow is a stunning coffee shop with a super rad little shop in the back. Grab an amazing coffee or grab some cool local merchandise. Everything at Chrome is worth checking out. The baristas and shop clerks are the friendliest people on the planet and there are tables both inside and out so you can hang out, talk, work and enjoy your coffee.

2022-01-03A go-to for high end coffee in the Atlanta area. They have a good variety of drinks and specialties. My go to is the maple oat cold brew, which has a coffee flavor on the stronger side. Baristas were friendly and the space is cool. They have limited parking but you can parallel park nearby. Indoor seating is currently closed. All in all, a good place to stop in for a nice coffee if you want to splurge!

2022-01-17Solid coffee shop that before Covid, had the perfect indoor work & hang space. Even now, their outdoor area is still a great place to enjoy coffee or tea on Edgewood.I grabbed the oat chai latte which will run you about $6 and change plus tip. Servers are all super nice & friendly.Inside, you have the industrial open brick feel familiar to a lot of Atlanta. They sell some sturdy goods from candles to backpacks and pennants to wear or style your home. Brands like Taylor Stitch and more decorate the space and can come home with you.

2022-03-30Really tasty and high quality espresso! I got a macadamia nut iced mocha, and it was perfect. Not super sweet, but very smooth. A little pricey (especially with the alternative milk), but thats to be expected (I paid about $7 for my mocha). Baristas were super friendly as well, and the vibe inside is very chill and nice, typical modern coffee shop vibes. Highly recommend!!

2021-11-30Great staff that knows what they’re offering. The cold brews are fantastic. If you’re in Atlanta looking for a place to drink good coffee, this should be your first stop. Visited twice on our trip, and loved it each time. Using a La Marzocco Linnea and Mazzer grinders for those that are curious.

2022-01-04Upscale coffee shop. Coffee tastes good. If you want to try coffee better than Gloria Jean’s or Starbucks, you can try this one. They have outdoor seating. The coffee shop was clean and soothing. They also have a small store attached to the coffee shop where they were selling some handmade soap and fragrances.

2022-03-26Lots of seating options, a nice spot for a social cortado or a productive shot of espresso! The vegetarian empanada was tasty and bonus: they stock aeropress filters!

2021-08-14Good, consistent coffee. Average price. Perhaps not the best in Atlanta, but a cute spot to hang out. Their chorizo and egg hand pie was pretty good. Parking around the coffee shop is hard to find, but they do have a small parking lot with a few spots.

2021-08-31Always a good experience. Well made cortado and the baristas are friendly. Good pastries as well but they sell out quickly. Definitely a spot to check out if you’re into third wave coffee.
