I really like this place. It’s a beautiful atmosphere, like wooden walls and hunter green & brown decor. Presentation is important to me personally. One seller there was extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. Efficient transaction even with the background check and a ton of customers in the store. Can’t ask for more, I walked in wanting a gun, I left with a gun I love + box of ammo. They have many high quality guns there. A ton of rifles too but I didn’t look so much at those. I was there a little less than 1 year ago & I want a new gun. I will be returning in the next 2 monthsP.S. I saw several reviews about a condescending man, I think I know who you’re talking about, pretty sure I saw and got nervous 😅. I detoured to this other man I ended up purchasing from. He’s probably nice just like grumpy
The staff is informed, intelligent, but stern. Expect them to be up front, extremely helpful but not necessarily super friendly. That’s okay, it’s a Guns and Ammo store, it’s going to be all business talk.Bought two handguns here and was very happy with the prices and their accommodation. Although it’s a little harder to come by ammo in bulk here due to the country’s demand, it’s still my preferred place to buy all my ammo.
The store looks nice, sure, but if youre looking for anything other than a single-action revolver, a bolt action, or an engraved double barrel look somewhere else. Not to mention the horrid customer service. If you dare ask about anything other than the products Ive listed you will get a condescending, sarcastic, and supercilious answer.A message to all employees of this store: Please understand opening a firearms store, no matter how long its been in business or what you specialize in, you will get calls during these times asking for something besides the Marlin 1881. Instead of sarcasm and the potential of losing customers by the dozens, a simple No, we do not have that for sale. Will be a sufficient answer. Please get off your high horses. Thank you.
Beautiful showroom with fancy Persian rugs. Excellent 👍 service, very friendly staff. Purchased my first gun here today. Owners 10 yrd grandson was helping to articulate sales presentation of revolvers. It was just too cute to see a kid talking about guns with such passion and confidence as if we were talking about his favorite video games. Future businessman. Already learning how to help run a business. I plan on coming back to buy another gun. Nice humble owner and very knowledgeable sales associate. Very pleased with my experience of my first gun purchase. No pressure sales, they definitely know their products in and out.
Very friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the guns in their store. I received personalized help from a rep in the store because I had shoulder surgery and he walked me through several choices based on my condition. He didnt just try to sell me anything, but asked questions about what I would be using it for such as personal defense or hobby shooting. I appreciated the attention to detail and the prices are below what Ive found anywhere else. Great place to purchase a firearm.
I had an amazing experience at Chuck’s today. Very kind and informative salesmen working there. Having no knowledge of fire arms, I went in a little (very) intimidated. They took their time explaining my options and I felt very comfortable. I will be referring friends to them for sure!*Call for an appointment prior to visiting them.
I have been a been a gun owner and hunter for 15 years. My twin brother recommended me here just to purchase shells. The service was rude and poor, as they treated me like I had no clue what I was talking about. Since turkey season is approaching, I asked if they had any 3 1/2 inch 12 gauge turkey shot to which the man assisting me replied “no one uses 3 1/2 anymore and all you need is a 20 gauge.” I guess that remains true for his pay per hunt quail shoots.
Extremely RUDE! I would avoid doing business with Chucks Firearms at all cost. They were not helpful when purchasing a firearm online and trying to use them as a transfer agent. My gun was delivered and sitting in their warehouse for 5 days before I had to contact them. When I called, they were rude and unable to locate my package. They tried to blame it on UPS, and then tried to blame it on the seller. I filed a lost package claim with UPS (for a FIREARM) before they got off their lazy @$$ and found my package in the back. Not friendly or professional at all. AVOID THIS BUSINESS!!!
There is a reason that this place has so many poor reviews on Google and Yelp. Unfortunately, I didnt read the reviews prior to visiting the store. If your looking for terrible customer service, visit Chucks. I have been a gun owner for a decade. Have purchased firearms from different locations across the Metro Atlanta area and NEVER been talked to so rudely than I was at Chucks. I should have went to Stoddards in Midtown. Theyre the best!
Classy place. Very nice firearms. One of a kind people. They always offer good competent advise. A very pleasant place to visit, say hi and get a taste of another awesome gun which I probably buy one day. I bought from them before and rest assured will continue support them in a future.
Incredibly rude salesmen at the door. The door was locked, and when the salesmen came to the door and opened it, he rudely asked what I was there for. I told him I was just shopping (I was going to look for a Blaser R8 Success rifle), but when I stated I was just shopping around, he told me that they were only taking appointments. No one was in the store either. I understand with COVID going on, but I also feel like they didnt let me in because I wasnt dressed the part, as in they only let people who look like they have money to spend in. When I asked the salesmen how to make an appointment, he seemed very hesitant to even tell me. He then said that I would need to give him my name and number and he would call me when an appointment was open (once again, no one was in the store). Overall, not a good impression of the store. I will gladly go anywhere else to spend my money instead of this high prestige gun store, just to be treated like a human.
If youre looking for the best quality firearms in Atlanta, and you also want people with the most knowledge of firearms, there is no better place to go than Chucks. Ive bought every one of my firearms there. The owner is super knowledgeable. You can cut right to the chase and know exactly what will be the best firearms for you. He is a very fair dealer to buy and sell from. Extremely professional!
Chucks is a trendy overpriced gun shop for people who like to brag about how classy the shop they bought their gun was. Ive been here a few times and every time I was talked down to and condescended to like I was a fool. They DO sell very nice shotguns but the prices are absurd especially considering what jerks they appear to be. I have a few nice over under shotguns and was looking for another to add to the stable but I guess I wasnt wearing the right clothing to get decent treatment? How this place is still in business is a mystery to me. There are lots of places in the area that sell guns just as nice as what Chucks sells but a better experience every way.
Jim, Jack, & the rest of the guys here at Chuck’s are great! It’s not your usual gun store. You can find lots of unique items and even just hang out in one of the leather chairs and shot the breeze. I highly recommend Chuck’s if you’re looking for that heirloom rifle or shotgun especially!!! What a fantastic place and great people.Cheers guys?Zach W
I walked in and asked one question about a certain gun I wanted for a special reason. It only costs about $300. He quickly turned away and said we dont sell those here. I decided to look around no one would help me. I asked another question regarding an old rifle that I havent seen since I was much younger. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. These guys dont know anything about me. In fact I have a large collection and when I find something I like I usually buy it. I was actually eyeing that old $1500 .22 rifle since brings back memories when I was a kid and no one came to help me.I left the store and ended up spending $2K at another and got what I wanted and something I didnt need. I know thats not too much, but when I went looking for a $300 purpose gun...Its a shame. Beautiful store. Very high end products and wonderful old collections that I enjoyed shooting with my Father and Grandfather while growing up.I will make sure my circle is aware of the poor service and obvious prejudgment this store provided and recommend some other places in the city to give your money to.
Well first it was a nice facility. The main I had is the customer service is horrible. Like when I walked in they said hey can I help you? I think his name was Jim And a young man was there as well it’s like they were shocked I was in their gun store I didn’t feel welcome they kept watching me never going here again
Owner and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a unique and diverse selection of quality firearms. I purchased a pristine condition 1984 Remington 700 BDL that came in its original box and appeared to have never been shot/used by the original owner. The store owner thoroughly cleaned the rifle and offered to mount my scope before I could ask. That level of service is hard to find nowadays.
Im not wealthy and I live off of Social Security, so Im maybe not a typical customer for this store here in Atlanta. I dont believe in hunting and killing animals, but I do like guns and I like to shoot. The people who work at Chucks Firearms, including the owner, have always been extremely courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. Also, I have always thought that their prices were fair given the knowledge and the service that they provided.
The new owner needs an attitude adjustment. He clearly shows signs of someone who has never owned a business before. My pops and I have been going here for years. However, last time I went, the owner called me a cotton-mouthed delinquent. He claimed to be a god among men when it came to his lacking gun knowledge. He threatened to throw me out of the store for knowing my guns better than he did. I told him I’d go around back Joe Biden style, but he wasn’t buying it. Not a classic southern American by any means. And a Wisconsin cheesehead of a business owner. I will never be purchasing a firearm or ammunition from Chuck’s again. This business has fallen harder than Bloomberg’s campaign.
Pro tech knives website listed Chucks as a dealer. I really wanted a whiskers.(so I thought). After trying a few autos, Pro Techs and Bench Mades, I walked out with a Pro Tech Newport. This never would have happened if I wasn’t able to put a real item in my hand. (As opposed to ordering online). My sincere thanks to the owner for being a Pro Tech dealer and stocking knives I could try out in real life.👍
Hands down the classiest gun shop in the city. Sure you can probably find it cheaper online, but the knowledge these guys have is well worth the premium. They will help you find the best gun for your specific need and budget and then take the time to teach you how to break it down and maintain it.
This dude has a cool shop and cool guns but if you’re not wearing a suit and tie forget about getting any service. they looked at me like i didn’t have $100. but in fact i walked in to buy one of their african safari rifles priced well over $3000. willing to pay cash wearing my bdu and no service. tells me they hate vets and blue collar workers.
I bought my first gun here and the service was excellent. Its great to find a place like this ITP and find service and quality at an affordable price. I bought a Ruger 45ACP here for less than the market price and these guys even threw in a box of ammo. Not a huge selection, but make you feel right at home. After going to a couple places like Bass Pro and Adventure Outdoors I find this the most appealing.
I have read a few of the low reviews on this page and after visiting the shop I can assure you my experience was to the contrary. I am certainly not a native or resident of Buckhead, my attire while I was shopping was not my Sunday best and as far as my ethnicity no one seemed to care about the tone of my skin or gender for that matter. With that said I was greeted warmly, my questions answered, and even had a few laughs. The clerks and owner were very knowledgable, helpful, and more then courteous. Concerning the prices you are paying for quality for example you would not go to a steak house order a premium cut then say What how much is this meal? But the McBurger place has meals for way less and they sell cow too!Quality of service: ExcellentKnowledge of field: Superb
They have a great selection of firearms and even better service. It’s not the cheapest place around but the service aspect and the overall atmosphere of the shop makes up for it. It’s the kind of shop I would like to bring one of my children when it’s time for their first firearm! That says a lot!
Walked in the door passed 3 men standing behind counter not one said hello can I help you.I proceeded to look around and listen to them talk about eating at waffle house.then a a white women walks in.every last one spoke and offered to assist her.then I walk out.what was that
I came in a month ago looking at a Swedish mauser and other milsurps, I spoke with the staff about WW2 Era guns and also asked about over under shotguns. I was shown a very nice used Beretta over under and walked out with it shortly after as a happy customer. Very nice people to talk to and very knowledgeable, I will be back!

2022-04-30One of the few remaining mom&pop shops with competitive prices, friendly and knowledgeable owners. My questions were not ridiculed and at no time did i feel uncomfortable. Definitely will return next time

2022-08-29I have purchased two firearms from Chucks, both time Jack R. helped me. He was great to talk to, and was polite. Great store with fair prices on quality vintage firearms, no one else in the atlanta area has a selection or knowledge like chucks. Other reviews on here have mentioned rude employees, I have had rude encounters with employees who are not the owner (who is extremely nice) and Jack, but I would encourage you to just ignore them.

2022-07-28Helped me repair my Beretta 694 after I put TruOil on it (don’t do that!) They were so patient and willing to help me out. They pretty much fully restored my gun to the best you could possibly ask for. Wonderful people. Would highly recommend.

2022-08-23If I could leave NO STARS I COULD HAVE! Total rip-off and waste of time, took my brand new AR15 there because of jamming issues 4 fridays ago, was called in by someone there that advised a week later that my rifle was ready, drove 50 mins to pick up rifle, and was ASSURED it had been test fired and problem would no longer exist, paid $110 andexcitingly drove back 50 mins. to my home in rural Ga. , only to discover rifle had same issue. Called Chuck back and advised that problem existed, was told to return rifle to their store along with ammo and mags to inspect a second time., did exactly that, another week passes and I receive a call from chucks asking if I use a full mag with rifle when problem occurs I replied no but all my mags are Pmags n brand new also gun BRAND NEW, the person on the other end advised that he would have to try and figure out the problem, i agreed. The following day I received a voicemail stating rifle was good to go and available for pickup drove an hr this time with traffic to shop, only for older heavier gentlemen with glasses to say , oh it could be the way you’re holding the firearm, I explained that I was at one point a soldier for US Army , served 2 tours in Iraq, and I’d NEVER heard of ANYTHING SO LUDICROUS . Picked up rifle drove hour and half back home only to discover SAME PROBLEM existed , immediately called back and informed the gentleman that answered the phone that I was having the same issue, his response was I DON’T know what you want us to do, but if you like you can take it to Smyrna Ga a 1.5 hour drive one way from my home to Adventure outdoor because they have a gunsmith on site and range. Long story short exhausted 4 weeks and countless hrs driving back and forth and burning gas . And ammo and be giving them (CHUCKS) $110 , for the same problem to exist and staff member caring less about any of that.. VERY DISAPPOINTING! Do NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE! CONSUMER WARNING!! gunsmith is CLUELESS !

2022-09-14First impressions are everything and this place did not make the cut. Just don’t go here if you want be talked to in a rude and condescending manner when asking simple questions and be right when you’re telling somebody they are wrong. This store looks like a cool place to shop with the antiquities and had potential, but I think the customer service here negates all of that.

2021-02-19Nice gun store. Very high end. I like the atmosphere, the music, leather lounge chairs. Not your typical tactical gun store. It’s a gentleman’s gun store. Will be back.

2022-02-21I arrived at chucks firearms 30-45 minutes out of my usual way seeking a new gun store i walked in the store the layout was nice, but i was not greeted at all. instead a gentlemen was on the phone and another gentlemen (jim) was cleaning a rifle on the customer side of the table. As i waited briefly another gentlemen walked through the doors for a gun pick up he was quickly greeted and helped by jim who came after me. Quickly after i had a very young gentlemen who came from the back to help me he was awesome but jim was also rude to him definitely won’t be coming back i’ve had a lot better experiences else where

2021-10-03I called to inquire about a holster for my 9mm EZ & Bob told me to come on over as he has quite of few options.I stopped by within the hour & Bob said You sound the like person who I spoke to earlier I told him I was & he welcomed me in. Chucks is a family-owned business offering local & personal one-on-one service, not like the big chains. All sorts of firearms including revolvers, military/assault-style, ammo, knives, optics, other accessories & even homemade Almond Butter.Bob selected the holster which actually fits a 357, yet after he opened the package & placed my firearm inside it fit just right. It ran me $52 as I was looking for something a little less, yet with Bobs service & his co-workers welcoming wittiness it was worth the sale. All employees were very friendly & knowledgeable. In addition to the huge inventory of current & vintage firearms, Chucks also offers appraisal & transfer ownership services.Ill be back to sit with Bob & get a professional lesson a safely cleaning my firearm & treating myself to a new one.

2021-09-01I came front the West Coast to settle my brother’s estate. He had over a dozen guns. 5 rifles and a slew of ammo that he had purchased mainly in the nineties.I went to a competitor who told me to bring the guns and rifles but not the ammo. That they would assess what I had and present me an offer. This competitor was somewhat close to where I was staying.I went online to look up other places that I might sell these guns and rifles to. I noticed that Chuck’s Firearms received good ratings. I liked the fact that it is a local concern and not a chain.I called the store up. I was asked for a list of what I had. I also had numerous fishing rods and reels that they indicated that they would check across the street to see if there might be some interest. I emailed the two lists over. Within a day I got a call back to say that they would come to my house located in the western suburbs. They came as promised. They carefully reviewed the guns, rifles, accessories (holsters and the like) and ammo. They offered me a generous amount and carted everything away. The ammo, for most part, was too old to be used and some of the guns were not in the best of shape nor in great demand. The fishing folks were not interested in the rods snd reels but what a generous offer made to help me out.I truly believe that I could not have received a better deal and professional service offered by anyone else. I am truly grateful to them and appreciate all that they did for me.
