Starbucks in other cities:
As far as my reviews go I like to inform the reader that I speak to personal experience and it can be completely different for you. A one star review is rare for me and service has to be so poor that I feel the need to review a place. My family was out in Savannah GA for an anniversary trip and this starbucks was closed day one of the trip but indicated on the door it was open at 6am. Now my wife loved a cup they had on the shelf so to ensure we left with it I was there by 5:30 am. As employees gathered in to clean and prep I patiently waited till about 6:20 to give them more time. I approached the store to find the doors still locked, and as I stood there in the freezing cold employees continued to work, as if I vanished into thin air at the front door. I went back to the car and watched as customer after customer was ignored and not allowed in. People pulling on a door that was stated to be open online and on the flyer but to no avail. After a second attempt at 7:45 am I left upset that I could not even get someone to look toward the door to even say they were closed for Covid or what ever the case may have been.Luckily another Starbucks 10 miles away had the cup and proper service. Will always be a Starbucks consumer but possibly never this location again
Not a bad place to sit down and get some WiFi. I ordered a small mocha and the cup was only half full. (Thats including whipped cream.) Luckily they fixed it, but the resulting coffee seemed like someone sad who needed cheering up and my crescent looked like somebody sat on it. Staff was very kind and friendly, and the inside was quite clean. Not bad, but not very good either.
Ive never seen a team of three Starbucks workers all work together so well. I visited on July 4th, 2019 for a break from the heat. Efficient service, clean seating, and pleasant atmosphere. However, I have also never been to a Starbucks where no music was playing? Oh well :)
Wow! First time I have been disgusted with the service @ a Starbucks. This was the only unpleasant experience we had while visiting Savannah. Employees were rude & slow. We ordered one drink & waited over 10 mins for it. We noticed customers that came after us got served before us so my husband asked how much longer it would be. The guy say its coming. We have going on. Rude!! Next time, we will try another coffee shop & leave Starbucks alone!!
We are on vacation in Savannah Georgia and the employees are extremely rude at this location. Not only are they giving me a hard time about the amount of sugar I need but also I can’t use the restroom after buying a coffee. This is an example of how not to treat a paying customer!!
This particular Starbucks was not the Starbucks I am used to. The service was slow, and the bathrooms were disgusting and looked like they were not checked all day. There were 2 bathrooms and both were in need of cleaning. One bathroom was totally out of toilet paper and the other one was close to being out. When I told the staff person at the register, she asked which bathroom but I never saw anyone check on the restrooms (and I stayed almost another 10 minutes after telling them about the lack of toilet paper). Definitely not going back there again.
Oh wow, I was the last customer, 3 girls were chatting with each other, I was sitting in front of them for 10 minutes to discover that my drink was ready some minutes ago. They said they called it up (they didnt ask for the name when I was ordering), but just didnt bother to repeat while I was sitting just in front of them alone in the whole cafe?? Extremely unprofessional
Mobile order is supposed to be for convenience to customers. This store completely overlooks mobile orders. I have recently waited in the store for 20 minutes, and today I waited 15. What is the point of mobile ordering if the staff simply overlooks these orders? Do better! Shout out to Starbucks on Bay street for always being on top of their mobile orders.
My drink was a caramel frappacino and it was awful. It tasted as if they forgot the coffee and the caramel. And being a local, I frequent this shop often so I was very disappointed. If I did not have a bus to catch I would have run back across the street to complain. A learning curve.
Coffee is coffee, this starbucks gets a 5 star for service. The staff is very nice and accommodating you need to charge your phone they wont kick you out. And if someone is special needs they let them stay. But will say something if you are being bugged by one of them.
A fine restaurant, in my book. For me, this Starbucks was a sit-down sightseeing trip: being right on the street, smack dab in the middle of downtown Savannah, the location allows one to get a load of the city without leaving the comforts of a table and chair. And so thats just what I did on my visit, playing the immobile tourist as I enjoyed some tea and lunch and a fantastic book. It was my compromise, to take in some of the locale with minimal time and effort - and, really, I enjoyed it so much, I wouldnt have had it any other way. Whod have thought.Pair this with friendly staff, an especially attractive (and delightfully air-conned) dining room, and a big, clean bathroom, and this Starbucks is, in my opinion, a winner. So, big thanks to everyone who runs the place, for enabling my lazy/wonderful tourism. Keep up the good work : D
The female barista with the short, black hair & bad eyeliner was incredibly rude. She didnt smile & I would have rather her not speak to me at all than say HOW ARE YOU? in the dead, uninviting way that she did.The establishment was also very dirty, trash was everywhere, dried splashes of coffee & there was a man sleeping on the floor in the corner by the window.Terrible customer service & just overall disgusting.
The staff are great, they remember my favorites! The problem now is one of the employees fail in the customer service department. Yesterdays 8/30/2017 6:55 in the morning, I order a small coffee it was warm. So I informed her of this, she says sorry didnt offer to heat. Later, I see laughing with coworkers about this. I dont think she realized why I mentioned it to her, it should have been HOT not warm!!!
Always slow. It doesnt matter if you use mobile order, youre still going to wait 10 to 20 minutes after you arrive. They keep the mobile orders behind the bar and ignore customers asking for their mobile order. They are always short staffed (2 people at 7:30am, really?), and Ive seen the manager walk out, look at the line waiting, then walk back to the back. The thing this store lacks is management. Go to the one on Bay street. They at least take care of their customers
Being acknowledged as a customer took several minutes. After being acknowledged, treatment as a patron was still lacking. I literally had to find my own food on the mobile counter as there were no signs posted and the barista pointed me in a very vague direction of where it could be. Then, on the mobile counter, no one even acknowledged my presence before I picked up my food. I could have very easily stolen everything waiting to be picked up because the baristas were so inattentive. Totally unprofessional and I will be sticking to the Starbucks bear my house from now on.
Great coffee and a relaxed vibe, but I would recommend ordering via the app during busy times. For some reason, whenever its busy the baristas taking the orders just keep taking orders and not helping their fellow barista who is making the orders. That is the only downfall about this location.Aside from that, their staff is super super friendly, and their coffee and food never disappoint! They also have a fabulous mug (travel, hot, and cold varieties) selection, too!
Drink was ok, watered down, I have had better at other Starbucks. Came in at 10:08pm ordered and then proceeded to go to the restroom and was told by staff that they had closes them at 10pm because they didnt want to clean them again. They didnt close until 11:30pm at night, I have been there before that late and they were never closed. Completly appalled at being lied to by staff because they wanted to be lazy that night and go hang with their buddies outside. Next time Ill just go to the Coffee Fox.
Ive been to this location twice and it is the slowest Starbucks Ive ever visited. Its not the baristas fault, he was running around and making drinks as fast as he could, but its impossible to keep up when no one is helping you. There were others in the store, just no one helping him make drinks, and it was impossible for him to keep up with the orders.
I have been a regular Starbucks customer for at least 12 years now, I love there coffee and breakfast choices. I have been working in Savannah Georgia now for 3 months and have been absolutely disgusted by my service at the downtown starbucks on Broughton Street. They have been rude to me now on 3 separate visits. I have now officially taking my business to the Coffee Fox store down the on the corner of Broughton and Whitaker. I will continue to be a loyal customer of Starbucks ,but never again in downtown Savannah.
Their new oat milk has gluten in it, I ordered a milk cappuccino but got very sick from cross contamination and there was no warning. Im waiting to hear back from Starbucks injury response team. Their milk drinks arent safe for people with celiac or gluten intolerance anymore. Thinking about legal action if they dont make it right.
I actually just dont like Starbucks. The coffee tastes weird and their dark coffee is called Pike, which is something I consider a fish. I like fish fine, but not coffee named after a fish. Also, all the sugary drinks are kind of gross. If I want sugar Ill eat cake. Also, I have never had quality baked goods at a Starbucks--always stale. But this one is really fancy and upscale, so if thats what you want, then youll get it.
We went around midday this past Monday and from the start it was the worst visit i have ever had to any Starbucks. The cashier girl was beyond rude. My boyfriend, myself, and the coyple we were with were the only people in line. As we walk up to the counter this girl yells the line goes this way and points for us to angle our group in a different direction, all while we literally are at the register and are the only 4 people in line and we walked in together. Not to mention we look like we are a group together. We all have brightly dyed multicolored hair piercings and each holding the hand of our partner. So we just looked at her like uummm why are you yelling at us. Well i place mine and the bfs order and shes pretty short and rude with us. Then when our friends get up to order my friend said frappe instead the Starbucks term frappuccino....ooohhhh how dare she use a competitors term. Ive done it plenty of times and they either dont care or we joke about the mix up. But this girl apparently had some insane devotion or simply didnt like these odd looking paying customers, and reacted so rudely that my friend simply paid for the cold drink her boyfriend order and refused to get her drink. I then decided to ignorantly use their bathroom. And Ive been to aaaalllloooootttt of Starbucks, and they are generally known for pretty clean bathrooms. Nope, not this one. It smelled like a dingy truck stop bathroom and had tissue paper all over the place. Seriously was the worst Starbucks ever and when we visit savannah again i will never step a foot in that place and I suggest everyone else do the same.
Management needs a reality check. I just waited 8 minutes to order then 10 minutes just to get my unsweetened tea with sugar because the cashier was so flustered she forgot to indicate no sugar. The place was completely understaffed. I could let this slide if it were peak time, but it was not even close. Thankfully Steven quickly fixed my drink and we were out the door. While waiting we saw a dozen people walk in and walk out due to the lack of staff. While walking around on Broughton st, none of the other coffee shops had a very long line. If they continue to have long lines without a second cashier or barista we will be frequenting one of the many other coffee shops on Broughton St. Your coffee is not cheap so dont be cheap with your employees, its Business 101...
Chalkboard by the restroom is an interesting idea. Mirrors one I saw on a SCAD building exterior. As for the cafe itself, the employees are very good at trying to be efficient. This store is as busy as many Ive seen in the northwest and the only Starbucks in downtown Savannah. The store is in the current high volume/educational layout so they do have a Clover brewing machine. This means you can try any of the Starbucks reserve coffees at the posted prices on the menu board OR have any of your favorite roasts brewed by the cup. A small amount of outdoor seating under the entrance is available since the store is on a corner of Broughton - no sidewalk dining allowed since that doesnt match the 50s I suppose.
Mary Lou couldn’t have gone out of her way to have been less pleasant. We met there as a family over thanksgiving to catch up over coffee and planned to order as a group. When one of the kids needed to use the bathroom she told us (with no eye contact) that we had to wait til we finished ordering to get a receipt with a code on it... we broke the order in two just to get a receipt as he was about to pee himself. Then during the next order when she asked for a name one of the guys said ‘C3P0’ and she said we couldn’t do that, we had to use a real name so it didn’t get mixed up. Well his name is bob and sure enough there were multiple bobs there...And while we were there the bathroom ran out of toilet paper and they took forever to restock it.Starbucks can do better than to hire a total pill to work the register and act like commies on bathroom usage. Next time we stop for ice cream instead of coffee...
The woman Leisha told me I had to leave and never come back because I went to smoke a cigarette and did not say this to anyone else... She was purposely isolating only me. very poor service to a paying customer, buy something at this Starbucks and they kick you out for smoking a cigarette.
Literally the slowest service Ive ever had at a Starbucks...took over 30 minutes for me to get my drink and one of the other employees told the single employee making drinks that she would come help him 3 separate times and didnt do so until he was severely behind...wont be coming back
Love the atmosphere just love the smell of coffee if you were a caffeine drinker this is the place to be always busy thats mostly in the evening but everyone knows the busier the place is the more popular it is and the better it is excellent staff very polite and hope to be able to go there soon

2019-07-16This new Starbucks is definitely an improvement from the previous one. The older one attracted a lot of the transients it came through town. This one is much cleaner and well-designed. they have beautiful artwork on the wall in the chairs are comfortable to sit in to read the paper or take a look at your phone. Ari is a great guy will make you a great cup of coffee. If youre going to come downtown and look for Starbucks go to this one. Great location

2019-12-29Great to find while walking the historic squares in downtown Savannah. The baristas were friendly and efficient. As it was around Christmas, I was also able to have a gift card balance transferred onto my Starbucks phone app very quickly and professionally by the store.

2021-03-07Had the absolute best baristas today!! Since vacation calories don’t count, I finally decided to try the tiktok iced white chocolate mocha yadda yadda. I was a little nervous to order it, but the girl that took the order was great, the girls that made it were awesome and they just had the best most positive vibe even though it was super busy! And the drink was perfection! So shout out to them! (I drank a good bit before remembering to take a pic!)

2021-12-29Bathrooms closed. Wi-Fi not working. Avoid. Plenty of other good coffee shops on Broughton with better atmosphere.

2022-04-14Ordered 4 drinks through mobile order and employees started complaining loudly about the amount of drinks I ordered. Not only was I standing right there but 4 drinks shouldn’t be a problem seeing as this is what they’re getting paid to do. Very disappointed, makes customers feel like a burden. Will never be visiting again.
