Nice little cafe, food was good and service was excellent. It was a little pricey but not too bad.I got a ham and cheese Croque Monsieur ($7.95) and a chocolate eclair ($4.80). Ive never had a Croque Monsieur but I thought it was really good. The eclair was pretty good too, it wasnt as sweet as I expected it to be though.
We were super super impressed. This cafe is straight out of France, placed into Georgia. We got the Apple Turnover and Spinach/Goat cheese quiche. They were both amazing. Out friends got the chicken pot pie. But it was no pot pie I was familiar with. It was so fancy, but also delicious. We had Nescafe coffees that were served in nice ceramic dishware. The bathroom was very clean, which to me translates in a clean kitchen. We were so comfortable, we didnt want to leave. We will be back.
Probably my biggest weakness is ICE CREAM...Ive been fortunate enough to have tasted ice cream in somewhere around 20 different states as Ive travelled over the years, both for business and pleasure...recently in Savannah, GA. I had the opportunity to try LEOPOLDs ICE CREAM...BEST that..
Delicious little cafe tucked away. They have my favorite nespresso coffee, as well as a ton of pastries and tasty treats. Great place to grab a brioche and latte with friends. They also have quiche, soups, and paninis for lunch options. Seating is limited and parking too so grabbing it to go is a great way to go also. The cakes are divine too but definitely not good if youre on a diet lol.
This is the best bakery that I’ve ever been to. The owner of this bakery puts her heart and soul into what she does, and you can tell after the first bite! Everything is fresh and the flavor is mind blowing. It definitely does not taste fake like most of the bakeries that I’ve tried out. You will not regret giving this person your business! She’s also got a great sense of humor.
Hands down, the best Napoleon I’ve ever had. The puff pastry was perfection and the custard was heavenly. The coconut macaroons are enormous and like clouds. The mushroom pot pie is served in puff pastry [again with this incredible puff pastry] and will be a go to when it is on the menu. We took a few home for dinner and the owner made sure to pack the components separately so we could reheat them later and they would be perfect. And of course they were.If I could buy the vinaigrette salad dressing to take home I would!I was also impressed that although it was 2pm, they were still restocking the pastry case and not just selling out and being done with it.This place is a jewel.
Used to be my favorite, folks were really friendly, but they got new help, and its gotten more businesslike and less personal. They stopped making the sugar puffs except special order. No more cup and saucer...now all paper. They used to allow you to pop in early if setting up, as I go early to work...no more. Its the little things that made it special. My daughter felt the fruit tart was really dry and left half of it. Overall decent food, less charm than it used to be.
Literally tried to eat here on two separate occasions. First time they were out of food. Second time we stood at the counter to order for 5 minutes and no one so much as looked at us, greeted us, or even attempted to take our order. I don’t understand the hype. Better off going to Douceur de France in Roswell.
It’s always a pleasure to converse with Mme and visit Collet. the staff is always knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Great service and delicious experience. I’ve gone for lunch as well as coffee, tea, and dessert for several years. The owner spends time with us, especially my French speaking mother, is meticulous about how food is prepared and about providing excellent service. Prices have gone up, as they have gone up everywhere. I am so glad Collet survived the pandemic. Today I picked up a Matignon, raspberry tart, and chocolate tart. I can always count on everything to be consistently outstanding. I look forward to my next visit. Tout le plaisir était pour moi.
This place serves the cake that I would possibly die for. It is the most divine chocolate mousse cake you will ever taste. But that is not all...Every pastry is a tasty surprise. Decadent, rich and fabulous. I cannot recommend this place enough! Your waistline will not thank you, but your mouth and soul will!
It is pretty sad to see how many good reviews this place has; however, the food is far behind the French name. Being European, I had the pleasure to savor true quality French. Collet had horrible coffee and what seems like pre -made food and pastries, totally overpriced. This was a total let down. Sofisticated name but totally poor quality.
Went in to get a quiche at 3:15 pm . I was told that after 3:00 pm they do not warm up food. Yet hey are open till 5 pm. The place was empty yet the lady refused to reheat the item. Walked out empty handed. Beware between 3 and 5 you are going to get cold food. Not everyone eats lunch at noon. Very disappointed. .
The pastries I tried were all very delicious. The server was very pleasant. Taking off two stars bc the owner was in the front by the door (indoors, inside of the cafe) carrying on a conversation with a patron for the entire time I was there without wearing a mask. I understand having to take off a mask to eat, but for the owner to be right in front of the door, people entering having to walk right by her and she refuses to wear a mask is really disappointing and sets a poor example for her staff.
BEST FRENCH BAKERY I ever went to. Wife and I cant just have one pastry... we get at least three and do not regret one bit! They serve NEspresso I believe for their coffee, and make their pastry fresh. BEST eclair hands down! The servers are always so friendly and attentive. The Owner is so chic and lovely all at the same time and she has magic hands to make these awesome pastries. :)
I love going here. Food is delicious. Service is solid. I think the chef lady is my neighbor but I never see her because she is always at work. She seems to have high standards in her food quality and it is appreciated. It is also refreshing to see her showing young people the value of hard work ( I am talking about her staff). Not everyone is a fan of her no nonsense approach, but if you are there for the food and you are gracious you wont have a bad experience. She is good at what she does and shouldnt have to apologize for not pleasing everyone. There will always be people who appreciate good food and hard work and those that dont probably need to go eat at Cheesecake factory.
Stopped by for a few pastries today. Had the Napoleon and an Almond Croissant. The Napoleon was okay, but the croissant was perfection, filled with almond paste from tip to tail. The cafe is clean and has five tables inside. A great place to meet a friend for coffee and lunch, high ceilings clean, crisp environment.
My husband and I came there on weekend since we miss the european-type pastry here. Unfortunately, it was not much of the choice but what we tried there was marvelous. We also appreciated cozy atmosphere and the nice French lady who came to ask if we like the desserts. We will definitely return to find something with chocolate :)
This place is AWESOME! Very French like atmosphere. High ceilings, double French entry doors with a small sitting/ waiting area along with about 9 cafe tables and chairs. We went in December and didnt see any outdoor seating. The customer service is outstanding! Such lovely, kind people. Even the owner came out and talked with the customers. On our first visit we bought the leek soup, spinach quiche, croissants, fresh brewed coffee, Napoleon eclair, and a vanilla yule log.And a few croissants to go.We will definitely be back!
The pastries are delicious, and beautiful. The staff members are friendly and make each customer feel welcome and appreciated. The cafe is quaint and yet comfy. Obviously, I love this place, it is my favorite place to meet clients and friends. Catherine, the Chef and Owner is delightful, but demanding, she delivers great food, services, and value.
You feel like you took a trip to France when you enter the restaurant. Its small and cozy and the food is excellent. The homemade soups are great. My favorite is mushroom. Salads are clean and dressed simply and taste wonderful. The quiche is out of this world! French pastries decorate the case like jewels. One of my favorite places for lunch.
The best! The pastries are all gorgeous and delicious. Bought an assortment for a birthday and wow. My favorite croque monsieur is the best I’ve ever tasted. There’s a rival restaurant in Roswell that doesn’t compare in my opinion. Not cheap but worth it. Just wish I could get a glass of wine😄.
A great spot with a dozen or so tables. It should be on your list of top spots for coffee and a pastry or fruit tart. The atmosphere is perfect for a small business meeting with a client or for catching up with a friend. While the location is very convenient, you have to be looking very closely to find it. You may drive right by and not realize it. I was glad to have been invited to a meeting here. I wish I had known about this place long ago.
Pastries are great (if you can find any), but they do a horrible job at managing the available items. If you don’t go early there is not much available. Went at noon on a Sunday and they had only a handful of pastries left. Very disappointed. We were a party of 7 and only 2 of us found the pastry we wanted. This has happened on multiple occasions, so I will not be returning.
Great little coffee shop in Alpharetta. I noticed that people complain about how small this place is but I think thats what makes it great, the intimacy, very European. Very clean, friendly staff. Their espresso was excellent (didnt taste like it was burnt). I also highly recommend their pastries, very delicious and fresh. Whoever makes their pastries should be commended. I like that you can sit down and theyll bring you the items youve ordered.
We picked up several Matignons (chocolate and raspberry) to celebrate my daughters birthday and WOW! The most impressive dessert ever. Wonderful flavor and texture, beautiful presentation. Words do not describe how much we enjoyed them. Thank you to everyone at Collet for helping to make our celebration the best ever!
This is my last post this week. I just cant keep saying all the places Ive been. Obviously it looks like Im a wealthy woman and Im not. I just love fine dining and new experiences. This restaurant is one of the most fantastic French restaurants Ive ever been in. I ordered a tart for lunch the next day. Since Im gluten free I was cheating but it was so worth it. Yummy!
Collet is a true master of French pastry, with her bakery as her workshop. I’ve been delighted by each and every treat I’ve tasted from here, with special mention to an eclair filled with coffee-infused custard. It was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, anywhere. Collet’s bakery and cafe is worth visiting even if you are nowhere near this part of town. It’s tremendous.
Very friendly staff and owner, especially with kids who receive a little chocolate treat. Nice sandwiches, but the pastries are too americanized for my liking. The raisin croissant, which in France is called pain aux raisins, was made with a danish type dough, and to my surprise was missing its delicious crême patissiére (in the center). Additionally, the sweet glaze was too heavily applied and the raisins too scares. Still a good overall experience. My family enjoyed their sandwiches and my daughter loved her éclair.
Great pastries and the coffee is legit. They do put away their non-pastry foods pretty warly, so dont go expecting a late lunch or early dinner. It also feels pretty bare and sterile in the decor, due to lack of mood lighting or rugs. Very bare hones, but the food is top notch.
The best quiche ever and I consider myself a quiche connoisseur. The water is served in large vintage type decanters that are refrigerated. The fresh flowers on the bistro tables are a classy touch. My only complaint is, I wish it were larger to accommodate more patrons and give a bit of privacy which is lacking. But the food more than makes up for that. Tres bien!
Good bakery, service could improve. Owner very rude especially when she makes mistakes. I placed an order of 24 mini tarts and paid for it in advance. When I went to pick it up, she didnt reserve them for me. Her responds after me asking how that happened was... things happen, just like that.Lucky me that they had some tarts left there that I could take with me, but not what I had ordered.I found her responds and attitude rude and unprofessional. I felt that she did not value me as a costumer. I have been a regular costumer since they opened their doors to the public. I also have been bringing many people there that became clients. Probably Collete needs to remember that good costumer service is essential to sustain a business and move it from good to a great one.
I love that the pastries are not very sweet however there isnt much flavor to them. Also the lady that helped me at the counter was extremely misinformed about the pastries.. It was extremely frustrating trying to place my order when she had no idea what anything contained the gentleman behind her stepped in and helped thank goodness because I was ready to just leave.
I recently visited this cafe with my fiancee and we each ordered coffee and a different type of croissant. Both the coffee and the croissants were delicious, but we had a little bit of an issue with the service. After the girl behind the counter made my fiancees croissant, she simply wandered off to talk to a table that had been there for a while. I thought maybe she just needed to check in on them, but she stayed and chatted for several minutes until I had no choice but to ask a different employee about my food. This second employee apologized and finished preparing our order, but it still struck me as a bit unprofessional that the first girl couldnt complete our simple order before walking away.
I just left this bakery in complete shock and disgust. The owner of this bakery was extremely rude and nasty to me. I asked her was if typical to be ignored for 10 before any of the three people behind the counter to even acknowledge a customer. She then told me what I was ordering was no longer on the menu. The face her employee made. Assured me it was a total lie. How aweful. Unbelievable how a business owner would be so ugly. I would never ever patronize this place. Im also a business owner in the area and was ordering dessert for a party. Do not spend your money here! The one star is not on purpose.literally the worst customer service Ive ever experienced, Ive been all over the world.
Freshly baked pastries and beatifully decorated desserts. This place also serves lunch that I did not know of until my friend told me. I had a cup of spinach soup and ham and cheese crepe, both were delicious. The only thing I wish they could change is make it a bit more cozy, maybe different furniture?
This is a must if you love French food and pastries!! Finally an actual authentic French bakery and cafe!! My husband and I try to get to Paris once a year and always come back craving authentic French bread Crepes and pastries. I have been craving a real almond croissant since last year and had one today from Collet that rivals the one we had in Paris and the Loire Valley. If you want the real deal she is the only one in town to even consider!!
Great quiche and chicken friande! Food is good if you eat there.Adding to my review. Went back today to get take out. After waiting in line for 15 minutes was told they dont heat/cook take out. I dont want a croque if I have to make it myself at work or home. Ridiculous and a waste of my time. Need a big sign in the restaurant that says we dont cook/heat takeout. Also need to add they dont offer cooked takeout on their website. Will not be back!
I have been planning to visit this place for so long! When I finally got a chance to visit, I was appalled by the service received. The lady in the chef outfit is extremely rude. I went to stand in line at 340pm and read the menu and she walked over to me and said we dont eat the bread its just for decoration. When I finally managed to place an order she kept telling me the stores closing time of 4pm which is incorrect as the hours online state 5pm . I was just standing in line to get prepackaged cookies while there were customers sitting and still being served food. I get it you dont want customers or their money. Dont bother visiting, customer service is trash. Even her employees did not look happy to be there.
The food and coffee were very very good. The service was fairly slow - it was busy but didnt seem to be at a level that our food should have taken the time it did. There was an issue with my food when it came out, but they were quick and easy about fixing it. Id go back again.
A very cosy coffee and bakeshop tucked in downtown milton. They have great tasting coffee. We ordered ham quiche and its delish. Not too salty nor creamy. Texture was.perfect. The lorraine was one of the best ive tasted and it was inexpensive. The fruit tart was yummy but quite pricey for a ping pong sized serving . Only thing is it can get too cramp when shoppers line backed towards the diners area.
945 am Sunday morning. Stood in line for 20 minutes while the owner took two sets of her friends before patrons in line. She sold all the croissants, ham and cheese, and apricot. This left the display empty.1. A French bakery runs out of Croissants, and product at 945 am on a Sunday???2. Owner is pompous, deliberate and sends a very unprofessional vibe to new and existing customers not in her circle of friends.3. Poor guest relations. Not prepared to provide food service. Slow.4. Its a pity because product looked promising.Bottom line we will never go back. I will tell every chef colleague I have in Atlanta/Alpharetta about this experience and steer them quite clear of Collet. Our culinary group consists of EC, MC and top hospitality gurus from the finest hotels and resorts in the South East. Just as I am passionate about food, you can bet I will be as forcoming about this experience. You never get a SECOND chance to make a FIRST impression.
The pastries are delicious! But the service awful. We tried to place and order for the cakes twice and every time were told to come next day because she is busy. We come but she was busy again and again. She asked us to text her. I did and still waiting for the response.
Best French Pastry Cafe in Atlanta. When I feel like going to Paris I walk over to this great spot and enjoy a chocolate croissant and excellent coffee for breakfast or some homemade soup and panini for lunch. Coquette and cozy environment will welcome you from the moment you’ll see the small tables and a lot of sophisticated and delicate deserts . The staff there is super helpful and respectful which makes you want to spend more time and enjoy the food and atmosphere. I ordered a cake and Catherine, the Pastry Chef and the Owner, did an amazing job. The cake was a piece of art, a real example of the new elegance : the meeting point between the “ Merveilleuses“ and the “Incroyables”.
This comment about owner not about their food. I was shocked how rude the owner was today. They were not busy and only 2 people were in there. I went in to drop off complimentary Marketing gifts (water bottles and tote bags) from us to have her share with her employees and she responded by saying she didn’t need them and what does this have to do with her business? I told her we have over 1000 residents that live within 1/2 mile of her business and just said we wanted to say hello as we were her neighbors, but she was not interested in any further dialogue. When I asked her for an email address to tell her about our perks program (free advertising on our website and to every new move in) in exchange for a small discount offer from the business)she said what for? Really unfortunate! She could at least smiled and said thank you even if she didn’t want them.
A French escape located in the heart of downtown Alpharetta - Collet French Pastry Cafe is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates classic technique and good food. If you are lucky enough to catch Collet during a slow moment, she is a pleasure to speak with. Her passion for pastry is apparent. 10/5 if I could give more more stars!
Collet is simply THE best French cafe in the Atlanta metro area (take this from a French guy).Catherine, the owner, is the most skilled and dedicated pastry chef around town. Actually, her skills extend beyond pastries. I vividly recommend her SALADE NICOISE or any of her hot dishes (that she wont allow you to take away because itll spoil their quality) !

2022-06-18First time here and enjoyed it. The spinach quiche was good with a light flaky crust and peach tart was also good and had a light crust also. There were several French sparkling water flavors, I had the lemonade. Dessert wise there were several individual chocolates and pastries items. I would go back.

2021-11-05First time and not the last time visiting here. Had the mushroom puff pastry for lunch. Took home some chocolate eclair and fruit tart for Elly. Baked fresh daily and constantly rotating selection. Will definitely be my new bakery near work.Updated this review to 5 star after we got to try the pastries I brought home. I’m sold and will DEFINITELY be back for more and more.

2021-09-13Nice French cafe to have almond croissants and quiches. I really liked the croissant and for sure I will come back for them. The quiches were just okay, I’ve eaten better quiches in life. I’m curious to try the paninis next time. The place has some outdoor tables. I went for the breakfast in a Friday morning and the restaurant was busy.

2022-06-11Let me start off by saying, “soooo good!” Had the peach tart and my daughter had the lavender, red velvet, and hazelnut macarons. That peach tart was unbelievable and I did not get to sample the macarons as my daughter quickly finished them off. However, she said they were all amazing and the lavender was the best macaron she’s ever had. If I ever visit this area again, I’m sure going to stop by here.

2022-06-03What a wonderful little place! A friend and I went earlier this week for an early afternoon treat after walking outside. The atmosphere is calm and friendly with adorable decor. All of the pastries and desserts were beautiful and the staff was very knowledgeable about each item. We got a pecan tart, an apple caramel dessert and macrons and drinks! Everything was delicious and the staff was so very helpful to bring us things we needed without having to even ask! A wonderful little spot I will be returning to!

2022-06-07It’s amazing wish they had location in Greenville SC. I drive to come see my sister and her family and stopping here is a must.
