I go.to.the aquatic center as much as i can. The staff is great. The heated pool os never cold. It is cool to those who do not swim on heated pools often. Membership is affordable but the everyday price can afford folks to come practically everyday. There a benches to rest outside of the pool and if you bring your own food there is a place in which you can break from the pool and catch your packed lunch.
Had not good experience there the front desk lady was very rude she treated me unfairly I had to wait till 12 to get in even though I had to get dressed,. And I told her I need some time to get dressed so it would not take my kids time to be in the pool ,but then a father and his son came in 15 min before 12 she let him in and they went straight to the pool. Then 10 minutes till 1 a lady walked in with her daughter got to go strait in the pool. (Is it maybe because I am white? If so then that be sad because i treat everyone the same way we are all the same we are bleeding the same color .)And those changing rooms aint as big as I thought it will be its a toilet and a chair and for a family you need at least a bench or something to change but for the first time going there I dont see myself going back there again. The life guards are very nice .
Although I was told that we had to reserve the family pool people were just getting in whenever they pleased and there was no one there concerned about enforcing the rules so my kids that cant swim well didnt get to enjoy themselves because there were bigger kids horse playing during our reserved time.
The person working the front desk will make or break your experience. Ive been a regular member for the past year, during COVID. Making it a habit it be present every Saturday. As of May 19th the mask mandate was lifted in the city of Columbus, except for consolidated government building, which CAC happens to be. I made one step in the door on 7-10-21 and I was told to put my mask on, yet when I stepped on the pool deck, not one lifeguard had a mask on nor did the patrons sitting in the bleachers. Also, as I left the building, I passed 3 patrons, 1 sitting in-front of the check-in window, all not wearing masks. I was also told on the morning of 7-10-21 that my CAC was not enough proof that I am a local and was charge $10 to swim instead of the local price of $5. My CAC has been proof enough in the past to prove I am a local and I am in their system with my local address. The pool is beautiful but I will not be attending this pool any longer.
Horrible service...whoever worked the evening shift, she was really rude to the kids! Whatever you do, please dont go in basketball shorts, as you will not be granted access. SPEEDOS are almost the only thing allowed for the boys to wear. What a way to ruin their mini vacation especially since they were allowed just the other day and returned with the same gear expecting the same treatment to no avail. Nevertheless, I say thanks to the other more generous attendant who provided masks for the kids who were lacking thank you.
I was looking for aquatic stores for fish but this works too haha. I swim for the hurricanes 100% recommend joining a swim team. They work you hard but they have such amazing coaches. We’re all so close and it’s really awesome. The coaches and other swimmers are super supportive and kind. Amazing team.
Took my kids for swimming lessons here. $60 each for 8 days. However plan for classes to be cancelled if there is a storm because they shut down if lightning is near by for safety reasons. Pool water is fairly cold for an indoor pool. They have many lanes for swimming, they host a champion swim team, and there is another pool for kids to swim around in. A ramp to walk down or possibly roll someone down but dont know the policy for that. There is one disabled swimming chair. About 3 ft for most of the main swimming area. Its not huge but its a fair size. There are quite a bit of people swimming here on any given day. As far as swim classes they were a little too big for my liking with 12 kids max which made it feel like every child didnt get the best attention. Our classes were cancelled a total of three times in our two week period alone in June. One instructor that really knows what she is doing and rotating assistants that dont have a clue and have never worked with a child. They close off the area for them which is nice and have the other side open for regular swimmers. There are several shower stalls and toilets in the locker rooms. A concession area for events and during the day with seating up above. It is also very humid inside the swimming area. I think they host some events because there was a huge water inflatable in there one day.
The lady at front desk Ms. Beverly (old black lady) is very rude not friendly at all, I went there to ask about swimming lessons for my son. She stated with a not welcome voice “sorry I don’t know anything “ if she works at front desk knowing anything about the place, prices and schedule hours what is her position there??... Please “Columbus Aquatic Center” teach your staff to be positive and friendly it’s a family place! Trained your people to treat others the way they would like to be treated!
The first few times I went to this facility I had a great time.My opinion has now changed the open swim pool is currently closed for repairs. They are allowing people to use the lap pool for open swim which starts at 5.3 ft . I purchased a 5.00 wrist band, after being in the pool for only two minutes i was informed they would be closing due to the weather. The weather was hardly inclement nevertheless, they DO NOT offer refunds in situations like this I wont be returning any time soon.
This is a fantastic aquatic center located in west central Georgia. It is operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. The pools are kid friendly. The staff is excellent and well trained. The pools are clean and well cared for.Although it is crowded when the teams practice, it is usually not too crowded for one to do their swim workout.
Very clean environment in and out of the pool area well lit large balcony seating as well as high tables and chairs for lunch snack laptop etc . atomsphere is pleasant the professional life guards are very attentive and focused on the swimmers my daughter has swim meets and practice here and I feel very safe for her welfare here thank you CAC for the experience keep it up great job !!
Overall enjoyable each time. Weve been coming here since opening. Although there is a dress code, it seems to not be enforced. If swimwear is the only thing allowed, then why do we consistently see tshirts, tanks, long sleeve, and leggings? Hold EVERYONE to the same rules and regulations REGARDLESS of the many stories people give as to WHY they should be exempt to wear whatever. Im sure many are uncomfortable with their bodies at times but thats no excuse. Staff should not have a pick and choose as to who complies when its visibly written.😀
It was very nice the weekend we was there for a swim meet. But with no air conditioning this time of the year. It was very hot in there...just sitting & watching . U was as wet as the swimmers was that was in the pool.. Because u was drought ed in sweat. Yes the Out side temp was over 100. But it was still cooler outside then inside. It was horrible.
The place is very amazing it is hot when you not swimming tho. The lap pool is cool and they have another pool that warmer and smaller. The place amazing nice people even though there hours change. (Please changs them back who opens from 10 to 3 on saturday and non on sunday. If the hours were longer on the weekend this place would be all around amazing
Best pool facility Ive ever been to. I like to swim laps when I get the chance and this place is always great. There are never any issues with getting an open lane, aside from times the teams are there to practice. And if you go on a Saturday, be prepared to have a bunch of kids at a birthday party running around the edges of the pool while youre there and questioning why you would want to wear a speedo. (Because I dont like the jammers, ok)The lifeguards are pretty cool. One of them even fell for my standard line that I was an alternate on the 08 Beijing Olympic team.Locker rooms are spacious and all facilities are truly top notch. This is one of the best parts of the Columbus area.
I was in a really bad accident when I was told water would be good therapy, I was terrified of the water but the staff was so supportive, my fears were overcome and I became a aquatic instructor. I’m thankful to the Holy Spirit for allowing such great people from this place to aid in my journey of healing. Thanks
The Columbus aquatic center was not built for general public use...it was/is designed for AAU type use...namely the hurricane swim club...although its being paid for by public tax dollars...its a very boring experience...the city of Columbus should invest tax payer dollars in a health and wellness aquatic center geared towards the improvement of the overall public health...i.e...whirl pools, weight rooms, saunas, as well as regular swimming pools...the cost to run the center on a daily basis in relation to its useage is outrageous and wasteful...city officials need to STOP appeasing the 1% of upper income residents and target the 99% of hard working tax paying residents of Columbus, GA....
First of all, why in the heck are they only open Until 3 on Saturday?!? And then when we get there they are not open at all! They just need to fill it in and use it as something else. They really failed Columbus when they built this with our money. I would give it zero stars if I could! Just pathetic!
Firstly, one of your employees wanted to check my boys trunks. I let this employee know that the trunks were trunks and she proceeded to show me a pair of trunks that you guys provide as if I didnt know what I was talking about. She wanted to physically check my boys trunks and wouldnt let them swim because I would not allow that. Thats highly unappreciated and inappropriate. My first and last time coming

2022-06-25Nice wifi and great air circulation. Long course for the 2022 Hurr Meet. Facility is clean and parking is convenient across the street. Plenty of stadium seating and also working tables for parents with laptop. Attached a panoramic pic of the pool for reference.

2022-06-21My daughter loved it here. It was clean and not overcrowded. Affordable if youre a resident. If not way overpriced. Im from Detroit and for me to swim with my 9 year old daughter wasnt affordable. I ended up not being able to swim. I would visit again only because what makes my baby doll happy makes me happy.

2022-06-14I went to this place for my first day of Aqua therapy unfortunately the pool is not really heated. I personally believe that a heated pool is not supposed to be cold.

2022-03-16I was referred to the center by Southern Rehab for aquatic physical therapy. I had spine fusion surgery. It was amazing. Loved it. I look forward toward my rehab. Josh the therapist who works at Southern Rehab was great.
