Karissa the event coordinator worked with my husband and I in organizing a photo session and she was such a pleasure to work with. Im giving the Columbus Botanical Gardens 5 stars because of the care and kindness the staff have. They go above and beyond for their guests and have such a wonderful and memorable garden.
So i went up there today to try this food truck i been following on fb. I came around 11am. They were having some festivals with food truck. I walked in for free. Worker told me food truck part was free. So the food truck shows up and they had a bog crowd waiting on them. The workers that people were only coming to the festival for the food truck so they decided to put a table up at the entrance and charge for the food trucks now. Thats messed up. Why change the rules and try to profit off the popularity of the food truck
Came for the first time during Easter Egg Hunt. Think more people showed up than they expected. They had some great activities and refreshments if not necessarily the space to enjoy them. Had a nice selection of eggs and broken down into a couple age groups but no way to keep people from only entering area where they wanted. Also rude parents collecting eggs instead of kids leaving none for those behind them but thats not the coordinators fault. I expect next year will be much better now they see how crazy it can be and plan accordingly.
Ive seen it look better. There was construction going on, so they must be adding something new. They had done work on the trail that goes through the woods, since the last time I was there. It was a major improvement. We enjoyed the swings along the trail, it was a great place to take a break!
Not a very elaborate garden, the website and reviews talked this place up but I was well disappointed when I got there. The farm houses are neat but the trail is bland but ok if you want to walk through more Georgia pines and oaks and more pines and oaks, the best part about the short trail was the big rusty bell by the fountain and that’s about it .... most likely won’t come back.
I almost dont want to post because I would prefer to keep this gem a secret! I absolutely love taking my mom here! Its also a great date place, picnic place w kids, etc. It is just a peaceful, beautiful place. And the volunteers are so friendly and helpful. They even helped jump my car when the battery died. So thankful for that.
Very pretty place, indeed! Just dampened the moment that our daughter’s boyfriend was about propose when a lady approached and said we needed to pay for a family photo shoot. She reminded us that photo fee was stated on the website. I suggested that we could settled up after we were done taking photos, and the lady told she could take our fee on-the-spot. The same lady then proceeded to stand around in the doorway on the porch where he was waiting to “pop the question”…A bit awkward and pushy, I feel! The gardens might want to have some customer service training for their employees…Next time we need a pretty backdrop, we will go to Callaway! We might spend more money, but we won’t need to be made to feel like people who were going to pic and ditch!
What I got to see if the Gardens is great. I wish they had maps, as I just kind of wandered around. There was a wedding there so I wasnt able to enjoy the area around the farm house or the rose garden. I walked the story trail, ventured through Camila Garden, and meandered to the wetlands. I never actually saw any wetland area but walked the big loop and small loop anyway. Im excited to see the herb garden and other things near the farm house
The Columbus Botanical Garden is absolutely a lovely place to visit. Nestled in the cut just south of Whittelsley Blvd it’s ideal location makes for great photo opportunities or special events. There are wonderful displays in there garden every year and trails you can walk around so you can connect with nature. The staff is friendly and can answer any questions you might have. Highly recommend you check this place out!
Beautiful gardens, some planters are still being worked on. Its come a long way over the years. I was charged a $35 fee because I was takings photos of a friend even though Im not a photographer and do not have a photography business. Just a girl playing with a camera 📷
Super cute for small weddings. Indoor and outdoor. The park has a trail that is shaded by all the trees. We love bringing our 3 yr olds and they walk/run around without us worrying. It is super pretty when the roses are in bloom. The trail has a gong, fountains and bench swings throughout. Super relaxing
A wonderful place with lots of activities to take part in. I went on a field trip with grand daughters class and they had several stations for them to participate in. The gardens are very well kept and so many varieties of plants and botanical things to learn about. This place is definitely a plus in my book. Its extremely educational.
Visited this lovely, free of charge (donation box available) botanical garden in mid-February. The camellias were beginning to bloom as well as the daffodils. The following week they were probably in full bloom. It was a cold day, but it was refreshing to walk among the paths to admire the many different varieties of camellias that are planted in the garden. There were some fountains and swings among the winding path that gave additional variety to a beautiful walk. A lovely place for photos (there is a barn for a background), and I would like to return to see the changes in the plants over the seasons and to visit the house on the property. I believe dogs are welcome on the paths, and children would enjoy the outdoors here as well.
The flower garden is relatively small, but it is made up by the woods that contain a scenic walk that is nice and peaceful. One star off only because the trails marked for specific terrain/environments are confusing and dont seem to have anything unique from the rest of the nature walk.
I had the pleasure of hosting my best friend daughter wedding at this garden a few years ago it was breath-taking because so many of natures creatures were apart!! We adored the barn where we hosted the reception and we decorated the outside and made it very dreamy!! The inside was amazing and alot of room very large kitchen to cook and prepare for events!! I love the up keep of the grounds and the staff was amazing!!
This place is a breath of fresh air!!! I grew up with an appreciation of planting flowers and gardening through both my Mother and her Mother. There is a Camellia garden that has every color camellia that you can think of!! In a beautiful garden such as this, I find peaceful calmness. When we were there, a caterer was setting up for a wedding and from what I saw; it was going to be a wedding to remember!!This is a must see for everyone!!
Stopped here for a walk during a short visit to Columbus. Even in early March, the flowers were gorgeous. Didnt have time to explore it fully, but really enjoyed our time here. The garden is free, but you can (and should!) leave a donation if you can. There are several well-marked trails to explore.
Bring your family, a friend, or yourself and sit a spell in the gazebo.Columbus Botanical Garden is a well kept lovely serene spot.A freelance photographers dream and its almost hidden. Theres an outdoor nature trail walk with fountains, bedded vegetables, plants ,trees and flowers 🌻. This place pulls you away from the rush to peace and solitude instantly. It captures the best of any season but when the falling leaves 🍃#fall, just beautiful!!!
We moved to Columbus a few months ago and just went to the Botanical Garden for the first time around a month ago. It is smaller, but very well taken care of gardens. There is a pretty path through the woods that leads to a pretty fountain, path and flowers that I cant wait to go back to in the future. We hiked around the paths through the woods and it was a special place in the middle of town. Afterward I went online to find out more information about it as we thought it would be a lovely place to hold an event. I was a bit disappointed to see how expensive it is to rent the space, and that they even charge you to take pictures there. But--its such a nice little place to go on a walk and look at the flowers that I cant give it a bad rating.
Many new features added spring 2018. This is a free treasure pocketed into the north Columbus community. The garden and former home of the Adams family is often booked for weddings and social events. The nature trail is about a mile in length. We often walk the quiet trail to escape the stresses of the day. Our dog loves the trail too. The back part of the trail blooms in spring under a natural setting, much like an old southern garden cared for by the true lover of nature.
Really nice place with good ideas for the home gardener. I loved how they mixed vegetables in with their ornamentals and visa-versa. I didnt realize how beautiful kale can be. I wish more plants were labeled but it seems like this is a newly established garden. We will be returning in a bit to see how this harden matures and grows.
This place is wonderful, but like all plants, definitely needs time to grow. I got excited when I saw that they have a masterplan for the next 10 years to get bigger and better! Its always good to see places like these have a bright future! The staff are normally helping in educational activities or in the main house at the front, and the place is very well kept and free. Plus, there are places to explore! I am sure with a little time and nurture, it will shape to be one of the best botanical gardens in Georgia!
Weve always loved coming here because its such a beautiful place. They were setting up for a wedding the day we went, and it totally made me want to get married again (lol, jk). There have been some additions since we were last able to go, and I could truly sit here for hours. I would have taken more scenery pics, but we were there for a short time. I took some of my newly discovered relatives there, and most of my pics have people in them. Just go!!! Enjoy!!!
I LOVE going for a walk at the botanical garden. Who knew you could feel like youre in the middle of the woods in the middle of Columbus? The really cool farm building in the back also makes for an amazing photo background. Weve taken family pictures there. Check their calendar and look for plant sales and Fall festival. Side note, they rent the place for weddings! Thanks to the volunteers the gardens are well maintained. My favorite part is the Sam M. Wellborn Camellia Garden in early Spring. They have over 500 varieties of camellias. If you love flowers, you will love visiting this garden.
They were having a private event a wedding, so we only saw one area. These was a family taking pictures, a good photo op. It wasnt what we expected, we thought there would be lots of flowers, there were very few. It was around Easter and no cost, we plan to check it out again.
Our daughter married the man of her dreams in the center of the garden. Even though it was in the middle of winter the small event was beautiful. I imagine this place would really be special in the spring/summer. They have numerous places on the property that make an awsum back drop for pictures. We bumped into a few of the grounds crew & they were all very friendly & offered suggestions for places to get that perfect photo.
While killing some time waiting to get into our hotel we decided to check out the place. Looked beautiful from the road. Unfortunately thats all we got to see. States that it will be open at 730 am, waited until 815 am and called with no luck. Maybe if another hurricane runs us out of Florida we will try again but I doubt it will happen on this trip poor representation.

2022-04-12What a fun find to bring my in-laws to on a beautiful day. Theyve lived in Columbus for 50 yrs and never knew it was there. I can see how it could make for beautiful wedding pics.

2021-10-10Hours are good, grounds well kept up, public restrooms available. Plenty of room for kids to run wild, plenty of paths through the woods with benches, large swings, and fountains. Price is right (free) but there is a place for donations which are encouraged.

2021-08-27This is a beautiful and well maintained botanical garden with locations that would be good for photographers, nature lovers, and really anyone who likes pretty places. The new fountain feature and walkways are peaceful additions to an already wonderful place. Theres a big barn, stable-like overhangs, garden boxes, an indoor location for events, and walking trails with so much to see.

2021-07-25Wonderful experience to get the kiddos out of the house. The formal gardens are well tended with identifying markers for most plants. Water features and seating spaces make for beautiful photo opportunities. The trail gets a bit bumpy from the tree roots, but our kids still loved it.

2021-10-08Wow! What a venue!! I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Columbus Botanical Garden for my mothers 70th Surprise Birthday Party! Karissa Dolan attended to every detail and the planning process was seamless. Her kindness, flexibility and thoughtfulness were hallmarks of what you can experience working with them. I wish everyone could experience this level of partnership for their special occasions! I ordered centerpieces for the tables and they were GORGEOUS! When I arrived I was surprised to see they even created other arrangements throughout the space to make the Farmhouse look absolutely stunning. The linens were the perfect color. We showed a video and the sound/video was executed flawlessly!! The sound connection/bluetooth for playing a playlist was perfect. My guests enjoyed everything about the location and I HIGHLY recommend them for the myriad of events you could do here!!PS: Kimble Foods (Amy, Josea, Ty and Alisa) were incredible partners and provided a delicious meal with plated service... #emptyplateclubMyStudio Photography (Cedric) managed our photo shoot in the morning in the gardens.Champagne Photo Booth (London Mahogany) provided the photo booth experience during the party. It was so enjoyable to watch this group make Boomerang videos!!

2021-05-23Columbus Botanical gardens -> not big, but its cozy.Half of the Columbus botanical gardens is located in the forest, its nice and shady. The air is full of aromas of flowers and pine. There are many hidden areas with benches to rest and a swing. There are 3 hiking trails.Helpful staff: I also had few questions, and the employee gladly answered them, and was super sweet. The WC area is nice and clean.Great experience. Highly recommend.

2021-01-29Scenic spot to wander, and a beautiful setting for events. Also a great place to get plant or design ideas for your garden. Kids will love seeing the Bees At Work, and the fountain. The stroll into the woods takes you to a gorgeous array of camellias, with benches and swings inviting a pause to take in your surroundings.
