I’ve been to libraries all over the country and this is the only library that’s ever felt like home to me. They offer amazing programs and events, the staff is kind and helpful, their booksales are like no other! If you have kids the programs they offer for them are wonderful. The children’s part of the library is huge and a great place for children to visit and have fun. The FOL bookstore is an added bonus and the staff there is always so sweet. It’s just the best!
Beautiful place that gets me out of the house and has a peaceful vibe all around. A great place to sketch in peace with friendly passionate librarians that never fail to direct me to a great book when I dont know what to read next. Always has new material and is quick about hold requests. Great email reminders for due dates and holds pending pickup. I have nothing bad to say honestly! Would recommend for families looking for a free space to enjoy time together. Keep up the great work!
Noisey I thought a library was a place you can go to handle your business in peace and quiet. There is always someone either working or on the computer that is talking loudly or on the phone. Sometimes it can be frustrating while trying to get your work done. Seems like there isnt a sense of inside voices or whispering.. #annoyingOver all I love the place as a whole just not the noisiness!
The library itself is hands down amazing! They have a plethora of books and all sorted in different rooms. The library has special programs going on all year long that is nice to beat the heat and enjoy the a/c. BUT this place seriously lacks in customer service!!! The ladies working the front desk are inexplicably rude and have no business in customer service. They have no idea as to what events or programs are taking place and make you feel stupid for even trying to ask.
One of the best libraries I have been to! There is such a large selection and the area it is in is made to be so nice! Plus, the building itself is a work of art! Also, its an amazing place for kids, I would definitely recommend any book lover to come here and look around!
I am not sure I would say this is a quiet place to study. The reading room is supposed to be quiet but the secruity people literally come in and have their radios super loud and are talking on it. The staff is also very loud and has no respect for people trying to read in a QUIET place. BUT there is a sign that says to silence your phone. What sense does that make? They need to have employees and especially security people train on how to be quiet in the reading area or anywhere people are trying to quietly read.
Beautiful place. Great location. Wonderful staff. Very resourceful. Love the kids area. As a mother I had to do plenty of work in the computer. Love the fact that I can get work done as they are entertain by books computers toys and socializing with other kids. Very big place but extremely peaceful. Thank you to whoever decided to invest this place into our community. Thank you to all the staff you guys are amazing and extremely helpful.
Great library but SOME of their employees have the worst attitudes ever. They need to hire people with better customer service skills and get rid of the ones with the ugly attitudes. I don’t see how people who sits behind a desk all day and do nothing except for entering information into a computer can have such an horrible attitudes.
This library is the one I went to for a long time and I still do, its a good place for me go and do stuff on my computer. The only downsides is the bathrooms lack paper towels (which is more sanitary than a blow drier) and the (Wi-Fi IS TRUTHFULLY WEAK). They could stand to have better Wi-Fi. Then again, theyll might end up charging us to use better Wi-Fi which would be really low.Overall, this a good library.Edit: 9/9/2020.Its been several months since Ive been in the library due to our countrys failure to contain the Covid-19 Virus. Ive came back because they were reopening with limited access to their computers. All I wanted was to use a table on the second floor, and they told me they only had their computers to use for 1 hour. Unbelievable. I was just upset on the inside. I understand theyre trying to stay safe, but where I wanted to be would be far from every one else. I guess I just have to continue to wait for somewhere to sit and use my laptop.
Recently got a new library card after moving back here. Everyone was nice and willing to help me since I have never been to the newer library on Macon Rd. Everyone (for most part) had a smile on their face. I also love the online options they now have too. My car broke down and I simply loged into the website to renew. Granted I forgot today I had to get books back and now owe, but that is my fault. I will gladly pay, because I know its going to a wonderful place. If I had more I would definitely donate what I could. Thanks for trying to make our community better!
I kinda enjoy coming here to study in their quit reading area. Unfortunately staff and security dont do alot to stop self centered people from having a full blown cellphone conversation in areas designated as quite reading spaces. Come on people, youre in a freaking library for Gods sake. Take it else where. Have some respect. At other libraries Ive been to, librarians would be on your rear if you even dared thought of using your phone.6
I am from this area but have recently relocated temporarily. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, but true to the Columbus way, there are major inconveniences. I had to complete a large print job and wouldnt you know it, not only are there NO change machines, but the printers do not accept credit cards either. How much sense does it make to have a room filled with printers that only accept cash yet there is NO other means to obtain cash on the premises!?This city has A LOT of growing to do smh.

2022-05-14The Columbus Childrens Book Festival was wonderful. My son and I got a chance to meet two of the featured authors. It was great to meet Christian Robinson and get a book signed by him. Meeting Arthur creator, Marc Brown was a once in a lifetime experience. I was just as excited (maybe more) as my 25 year old son to meet his favorite childhood author. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

2022-05-04I love the Columbus Public Library I remember when one of the only libraries in Columbus was the WC Bradley library. My son and I go to library all the time. If you go to the Childrens section ask for Tatiana if she is working she is amazing. She can has great taste in books, and can recommend some awesome books for your little one.

2021-08-07I absolutely love the Chattahoochee Valley Library System and specifically the Columbus Public Library. The staff rose to the occasion during the pandemic with curbside service and book bundles. The building itself is so beautiful and peaceful. Even driving near it calms me down.

2020-02-05The most amazing library system. So much to see and do. Fee free. Even if you misplace some material, just bring the books back when you find them, they are so happy to have them back! The staff is so helpful, and the lady at the service desk was very eager to tell me about many free things that I might be interested in, including free passes to the zoo, areas parks, and made sure that I was registered to vote! Truly some outstanding public service.
